One year ago today...

On November 19th, 2020, I said goodbye to a show that I never thought would leave me.

And now, a year later, I feel so lucky to say that it still hasn't.

From the minute I joined the fandom, I knew that Supernatural was something special. A part of that was how funny, heartwarming, and all around beautiful the show itself was, but ultimately, there was so much more to it than that.

Supernatural is special not because of the show, but because of its family. Because of the cast, the crew, the fans, and everyone in between, Supernatural still has a voice today.

There's been a lot of drama in the last year. I can't deny that. The in-fighting over the finale has left me heartbroken more times than I can count, and the metaphorical "Season 16" that has been circling through the internet has had so many highs and lows that I've wanted to log off more times than seems necessary.

But I never did, and I'm still here, as are so many others. And that's insane to me.

It's crazy to me that something that causes so much drama and emotional turmoil somehow also still creates so much love and appreciation in the depths of it all.

It's crazy to me that while so many people shout how much they hate the show, the writers, the cast, and everything in between, there are just as many people shouting how much they love and appreciate everything that the show has created.

It's crazy to me that so many people in this fandom can go from hating this show to loving it in a heartbeat.

I guess that's what it means to truly love something to no end. You see it for all of its faults, and you point them out and bash on them, but in the end, you'll never stop loving it, no matter how many flaws or cracks you can find.

I like to think that this attitude will stay forever. I like to think that Supernatural's legacy will continue to grow and thrive, even as this anniversary gets longer and longer.

I don't know if that's true. I don't know if, forty years from now, we'll all still be spending every waking moment thinking about this show and what it has meant to us (and done to us) over the years.

But I like to hope we will.

And even if we don't, that's okay to. Because I know that, no matter what we say, or do, or how our lives progress after this, Supernatural will always have a special place in our hearts. It's part of who we are, and it always will be.

So yeah. Maybe this post is a little late. And maybe I didn't finish the edit that I wanted to have done for the anniversary, or make any new collages, or write any new stories. Maybe I didn't have the time to commit my everything to this show that I have in the past.

But I didn't forget. And I never will. And I have a feeling no one else will either.

So here's to another year of remembering. Whether it's through a Season 17, or even just through yet another binge watch--I finally had the courage, for the first time, to re-watch the series finale today, and I sobbed just as much, if not more, than I did the first time--Supernatural will always have our backs, and we will always keep it in our hearts.

After all, that's what family does, right?

HAPPY SUPERNATURAL DAY!!

I'm a little late on this post, but it's still the 13th, so I'm counting it.

As many of our amazing cast members are sharing on Twitter, it is absolutely insane that Supernatural has officially reached the age where it can drive Baby...

The fact that it barely got its permit before it had to come to a close still hurts to this day, but I am so grateful for the fact that it has never truly died.

With all of the drama, news, realizations, discoveries, interviews, tweets, and everything good and bad in between, Supernatural has been kept alive in a lot of ways, and everybody has had their own way of contributing to that life.

I'm proud to be a part of something that can go sixteen years without being forgotten.

You didn’t have any powers, which was shocking to everyone who knew your dad. It was shocking to you too once you were old enough to realize how powerful he was. When you were younger you would look at him and ask when you would get powers like him and he had told you that it would be around the time you reached puberty. But then you didn’t get any, and you were let down and after the school started up you felt alone in the big building full of students. You were the only one there without a mutation so of course you were lonely. 

You’ve always been glad to have Jean though she’s the closest thing you have to a sister after being raised together. And even though you were slightly older than her she always acted like the big sister. She was always there to help you feel less lonely in the mansion and you were always there to help her when she started having nightmares. You both calmed the other down in a way that no one else could. Jubilee was really your only other friend until Kurt and Scott came around.
