A young man was kicked out of of New Jersey movie theater after using the bathroom with his mom. This instantly made me angry because some people with high support needs do need help using the bathroom sometimes.

According to this report:

The incident began when Gallinaro’s son needed to use the bathroom and she took him into the women’s restroom. There is no family restroom at the Cinemark in Hazlet, according to the lawsuit.

“My son is not equipped to go into a men’s bathroom in a public setting alone,” Gallinaro told NJ Advance Media last week. “I took him to the women’s bathroom.”

There were other women in the restroom, some of them mothers, she said.

“Right away, they see he’s with me. They pick up why he’s in the bathroom with me,” she said, noting that she noticed one woman “looking at me smiling.”

The 59-year-old manager of the movie theater wasn’t as understanding, the suit alleges.

The manager angrily approached and “shouted blatantly discriminatory remarks” toward the mother and the 15-year-old, the lawsuit alleges.

“A grown man should not be in the women’s restroom,” the manager said in the crowded lobby, according to the suit. “This is not a transgender bathroom.”

Even though there were no other complaints, the manager allegedly ordered the Gallinaros off the property and directed an assistant manager to call the police, the suit states.

Thinking of coining a new label: arofog / acefog. I'm not super sure of the name yet, so I'd love any suggestions! I was going to base the name on fog, due to the foggy, misty, or cloudy feeling of one's attraction. I may also just call it quoiflux if that term doesn't yet exist. Please let me know which you prefer!

EDIT: I'm definitely leaning more towards quoiflux, which can be used as a definition for arospec or acespec people.

Definition:

Basically it's kind of a mixture of quoi- and -flux, wherein the user feels like they are on the aro or ace spectrum, but their feelings are hard to pin down and determine. They may feel as if they fluctuate between different labels, like -flux, but are not always able to describe their feelings or say what labels they are. Quoiflux people may also feel like they identify with multiple labels all at one time, with varying levels of intensity. This can fluctuate rather quickly, sometimes with multiple labels feeling right in one day. Essentially, it would be used by people who have strong aspec feelings that can be hard to pin down and describe and may vary depending on the day or one's mood. These terms do include gray- and demi- labels, as someone who is quoiflux can experience romantic or sexual attraction at some point, just like with these two identities.

happy disability pride to the people with memory issues and brainfog. who can't answer when they started experiencing symptoms, when they started their meds, what they did last week/yesterday/this morning. happy disability pride to the people who miss appointments because they forgot, especially really important appointments. who are told to get their results or follow up on an appointment and never end up doing it. the people who would benefit immensely from reminders or someone writing things down for them, who try or are made to try and all the organisation tips in the world won't help them remember them when they need it

Waddup people,, I need some help deciding on a name, for clarification I'm trans (still tryna figure out what to label myself as,, gender is wacky yk /lh) I feel masc, gender neutral, and/or androgynous most of the time,, very rarely do I feel feminine and even when I do it's more of a "I wanna be a pretty boy" kinda way if that makes sense?? For disability pride month (and the rest of the year) here's a shout out to

- people who have to take "scary" meds like antipsychotics, tranquilizers, schizo meds, lithium, opioids, and steroids because they're the only things that work

-people taking medicinal drugs that may be illegal in some areas

-people who have to get dangerous procedures and treatments

-people who will literally die without their meds and can't stop taking them

-people who can't afford their meds or their meds are so expensive it puts them in poverty

- people whose meds cause undesirable side effects

-people whose meds cause them to be immunocompromised

-people whose meds damage their bodies, but improve general quality of life enough that it's worth it

-people who get told to get off their meds constantly by people other than their doctors (or their doctors didn't want to put them on the med bc they're "too young")

-people who can't take medicine other than ibuprofen or Tylenol due to allergies, interactions, etc.

-people who don't want to take any medicine due to medical trauma

-people who can't take medicine at all and have to cope in other ways

-people who are addicted to their medicine and don't want to stop taking it

-people who are addicted and want to stop taking their meds

-people still suffering from unforeseen side effects that still affect them even though they got off the meds

Our relationships with our medicines/treatments are complicated and no one body is ever exactly the same. Please be respectful of people's choices and feelings about their meds.
