He'd take the world off my shoulders If it was ever hard to move He'd turn the rain to a rainbow When I was living in the blue
Sometimes, it was hard to face reality.
The fact that you and Beomgyu had broken up, the fact that you would never be able to call him yours again, was slowly filling you inside. When you'd agreed to it a few days ago, it had felt like nothing. Like he would come back and the two of you would reconcile, and things would go completely normal again. But that wasn't the case. It was hitting you now in your shared apartment bedroom, while he sat silently on one side, packing his boxes, and you sat in the other corner, organizing yours.
Why had you two broken up? You didn't even know the answer to that anymore. Your relationship had started tearing off in bits, the way paper does when placed in water. It's damaged, and when you take it out again, it can heal with scars. But it's dipped again and again in water, and everything slowly ebbs off eventually. Little arguments, small fights, misunderstandings. All of those had combined together to throw your relationship to the dumps. And when the two of you were drunk and angry one night, that was the final blow. And that night, everything ended.
You quickly shut your eyes. You didn't want to think about it anymore. You quickly stuffed the last of your belongings into your box and left without a second glance. You could only mutter a quick "Goodbye" on your way out before the tears started to fall.
Why then, if he is so perfect Do I still wish that it was you? Perfect don't mean that it's working So what can I do?
When you're out of sight In my mind
It had been a whole year since the breakup that still scarred you. It had affected you in ways that no other breakup had. But you'd eventually picked yourself up from the ground and found a new life for yourself. That was what he was doing as well, you suspected.
You had a new boyfriend now: Choi Soobin. He was nice, a good listener, and the best at understanding. But from time to time, you'd wonder why you weren't as happy as you had been with Beomgyu. Soobin was like the total opposite, but he matched with you so well. You two had a lot in common. Soobin was different. Soobin was quiet, reserved, and polite, whereas Beomgyu was loud, annoying, and often crazy. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Soobin or the way he acted, but you just couldn't seem to click with him as you had with Beomgyu. You enjoyed every single passing moment with him, yet there was always something in between that was missing too.
"Y/n, are you okay?" Soobin waved a hand in front of your blank face.
"Huh? Oh, of course I am. Sorry. I'm fine." You rambled out, shaking your head to wake yourself up. This was not the time to be thinking about your ex. You had a perfect boyfriend in front of you, and you were still thinking about a broken relationship from a year ago.
"Okay, I'm glad." Soobin said, smiling. He picked up his chocolate crossaint. "Here, have a bite. It's delicious."
You obliged, brining your mouth closer and taking a huge bite out of it. He was right. It was delicious.
"Mmm," You said, offering your muffin to him. You watched as he took off a piece and popped it in his mouth, chewing happily. Even his eyes smiled. You found yourself getting lost in his dark orbs, finding swirling memories of you laughing in the park, holding his hand and giggling with joy.
His hand.
But it wasn't Soobin's, and you hated to admit that it would never be.
You quickly shook yourself off and blinked to see Soobin staring at you with concern etched across his face again.
"Gah. I did it again, didn't I?" You muttered sheepishly. Soobin let out a soft chuckle.
"It's okay. You must be tired today. Do you wanna pack the rest of these for later, then?"
You nodded gratefully, wondering why you couldn't love Soobin to your heart's extent. He was so perfect.
But then again, perfect wasn't what you needed. You needed his hand to grasp in yours again, his lips on yours, his laugh to fill your world.
You shook you head. You really needed to stop doing this.
Tell me she savors your glory Does she laugh the way I did? Is this a part of your story? One that I had never lived Maybe one day you'll feel lonely And in her eyes, you'll get a glimpse Maybe you'll start slipping slowly And find me again
When you're out of sight In my mind
"Gyu~" Sujin's voice called Beomgyu as he looked up. He'd been waiting for her to finish her shift at the pool so that they could have the rest of the afternoon for themselves.
"Hey." He said, smiling and intertwining his fingers in hers. "How was your day?"
"Great. There was this adorable little girl here, and she absolutely loved the pool!" Sujin giggled in excitement by just talking about the little girl.
Sujin was Beomgyu's new girlfriend. They had met a few months ago through mutual friends, and she understood him in ways that he hadn't felt in a while. Not since y/n. She was precious, sweet, and kind. But she still wasn't y/n.
"So, how was your day?" Sujin asked Beomgyu in return. He shrugged.
"It was alright. There was one rude customer first start in the morning, but the customers after were so much nicer. I guess they made up for him." He continued to talk about his encounters at work, but his mind was obviously elsewhere.
Sujin started to fiddle with her fingers as Beomgyu talked, and he noticed it after about a minute or so. Not many people around him did it, but he was so used to y/n fiddling with her fingers when she was anxious that it seemed so normal now. His thoughts hitched back to a year ago, way before they'd had their fights. The way she had fiddled around under the table on their first date at a restaurant. How she'd been unable to keep her hands still while walking through a busy crowd. It had been such a cute habit, and Beomgyu had lived for teasing her about it. He realized he was smiling again, but not for Sujin. He instantly wiped it from his face. This was wrong to do.
"How about we stop for some coffee?" Sujin asked as they passed a small, dainty cafe. Beomgyu was about to decline, not in the mood for caffeine, when the irresistible scent of coffee wafted through his nose.
"Of course." He agreed, and the two of them walked in.
'Cause sometimes you look in her eyes And that's where you find a glimpse of us And you try to fall for her touch But you're thinking of the way it was Said you're fine and said you moved on You're only here passing time in her arms Hoping to find A glimpse of us
"Beomgyu?"
"Y/n?"
The two of you gaped at each other. You and Soobin had just cleaned up the table and had been preparing to leave when someone asked if you were done using the table. You had turned back to see a very pretty girl, but you were even more astounded to see your ex behind her, who seemed equally as shocked.
"D-do you know each other?" The girl asked, looking confused as she glanced back and forth between yours and Beomgyu's expressions.
"Oh..." You said. You concluded that it was probably Beomgyu's new girlfriend, and you didn't want to go down the complicated route. "I mean, yes. He's a very close friend of mine. We lost contact about a year ago."
The girl looked slightly relieved, and so did Soobin. "That's nice." The girl stook out her hand. "I'm Ji Sujin, Beomgyu's girlfriend."
Soobin introduced himself as you shook her hand back. But the whole time, your eyes hadn't strayed away from Beomgyu's.
You could catch glimpses of the two of you in his large eyes. Every memory suddenly flashed back and hit your squarely in the heart. His laugh, his touch, his tears. Everything just hit you. You wanted to run to him and say that you were so sorry for breaking up, even if you didn't know the reason. You just wanted to come back to his embrace and never let go again. Unbeknownst to you, Beomgyu was thinking the same thing, transfixed in your eyes. Small details that he'd forgotten about the time you'd shared together were all coming back to him at once. Both of you felt the pain of the memories from months ago.
You let a small smile out at him, and after a few seconds, he returned it.
Maybe the two of you were only passing time in others' arms, staring in unfamiliar eyes and wanting to find love and warmth there. But the only thing found there was a longing to go back to each other, to embrace the mistakes and make up for it again.
But for now, all you could do was stare at his eyes, the warm glow that held onto the glimpse of the two of you, and all that you could've been.
Just a glimpse of us.

summary | mark calls you one night after the breakup, hoping to say the words he’d never been able to express before.
category | angst
warnings | none
word count | 585
pairing | mark x fem reader
Mark fumbled with the phone in his hands, tossing and turning in his sleep. In the other room, he could hear his other band members snoring, but he just couldn't seem to get any rest tonight. He was tired, relaxed, and ready to go to bed, but for some reason, sleep just wouldn't come to get him.
Being the overthinker he was, he couldn't help but start regretting the decision to break up. He didn't even know why those words came out of his mouth one day. He didn't even know why he came home and just felt exhausted with you. He didn't even know how he would say such a heartbreaking thing to you. He didn't even know why he claimed to have fallen out of love with you.
Nobody said it out loud, but Mark always knew what they were thinking. They thought he was stupid for letting you go. And Mark couldn't help but agree. Every night since those few weeks ago, he'd fallen asleep with his phone in his hands; tempted to call you but too cowardly to press the button. He knew you hated him, and he didn't think he could bear hearing the venom in your voice.
But for some reason, his hands slowly searched through his contacts again. The route was so familiar that he could probably call you with his eyes closed. He stared at your contact picture; your bright eyes, silky hair, beautiful smile. And his thumb propelled itself towards the call button. He shut his eyes closed as tight as he could when the ringing started.
You picked up after exactly four rings. Mark braced himself for the screaming to begin, calling him a jerk, but that never came.
"Hey," you said. Mark's heart fluttered at your voice. There was no hatred, no accusations, no poison in your voice. Instead, you sounded worried, slightly breathless.
"Mark?" You called again, and this time, a tear crept out from his eye after hearing his name from your lips again. He opened his mouth to say something, but only a silent cry came out.
He could almost feel you looking at the phone screen in confusion. "M-Mark? Are you okay?"
He shook his head, begging you to hear him through the screen. No, I'm not okay. I need you. Please come back.
After moments of silence, a quiet sigh came from the other side of the phone. "Hey, I'm always here if you need me. I don't know why you called. Maybe it was accidental. But I'm just a phone call away."
Mark wanted to say everything. I'm sorry. I never meant to say any of those words, and these past few weeks have been the hardest of my entire life. I miss you so much. Please come back. But whenever he tried to open his mouth, fear of losing you again, hatred for himself, and the cowardly instinct crept up to his heart and stopped him from speaking.
There was silence for another several seconds, and the line went dead. Mark could feel his heart shattering once again, and this time, he could finally let out an audible cry. The first tear he'd let out since the breakup.
"I'm sorry. Please come back."
Little did he know, on the other side of the country, you sat in your bed, staring at your phone screen silently. You were shaking and sobbing, tempted to press the call button again. But you just couldn't.
"I'm sorry, Mark. Please come back."

summary | you decide to surprise your boyfriend, yeonjun, by showing up to his concert unannounced
category | idolyeonjun! fluff

You smiled fondly from backstage as people cheered on your boyfriend, screaming his name as well as all the other members' before the concert finally came to an end.
"Miss y/n," one of the security officers called your name. You turned around and saw him beckoning you towards the backstage entrance, and you quickly grabbed your bag and ran after him.
You'd decided to surprise Yeonjun on his tour. Both of you had been upset when he left the airport, knowing that he wouldn't be able to see you in person for a whole month. Little did he know, you had booked a flight and a ticket to his third concert to surprise him. You'd spend hours in FaceTime and calls, and there were probably a million texts sent since the last time you'd actually seen him. Though you talked to him constantly, there was still a lingering feeling that caused you to want to see him even more.
You were in NYC now, and the concert had been amazing. You were so happy to see that people respected the boys' space and were polite during the show. You had a balcony seat to yourself, and it had taken you all the willpower to be able to even get a ticket. They sold out almost instantly, and you were one of the lucky few who were able to obtain one. Your heart fluttered giddily as you followed the security officer down the hallway, nearly running to be able to get to the waiting area before Yeonjun.
"You can wait here, miss." The security officer said. You thanked him and sat down on one of the cushioned chairs, fiddling with your thumbs nervously. It felt like an eternity before the door opened again, and a sweaty mass of boys tumbled into the room.
It took seconds before Huening Kai finally noticed you, voicing his shock. "Y/n? What are you doing here?"
"Y/n?" Yeonjun asked in a confused voice, oblivious to the fact that you were right in front of him. "Y/n's still in Korea. What are you talking...." His voice trailed off as he caught sight of you, and at that moment, the only thing that mattered was him. The light catching on his fluorescent blue hair, his eyes widening in disbelief. Then, you were running into his arms, and he caught you in his embrace, squeezing as though he would never let go.
"What... what are you doing here?" Yeonjun gaped, obviously still in shock. "You--- you were in Korea? I was at Korea, and you were performing. I mean, no you were in Korea and I was in Korea and.... fuck. You know what I mean."
You giggled into his shoulders and pulled away. "Surprise! Did you like it?"
His eyes were nearly teary with happiness, and you felt your huge smile mirrored in his face. "Of course I like it! I missed you so much. It's only been, like, what, a week? And I thought I'd die from the separation."
"I missed you too, Junnie. You did so amazing." You said, wrapping your arms around him again.
You peeked past his shoulder to see Taehyun rolling his eyes, trying to look annoyed but feeling mellow on the inside. He waved a hand and walked past them, shoving Yeonjun lightly.
"My god, you two. You're disgusting. Get a room."

places they would live in (ot5)

~ Y E O N J U N ~
Tumblr media
- A penthouse or nice, modern apartment of some sort
- I feel like Yeonjun isn't the type to spend money on huge fancy houses that aren't necessary for one or two people
- However, he'd be picky about choosing a home and would want somewhere to live where it's modern and has good ratings or environments
- It would be slightly on the luxury side, but not so much as to spending a huge investment on a home
~ S O O B I N ~
Tumblr media
- A modern apartment
- Like Yeonjun, I feel like Soobin wouldn't really care much for fancy houses and would prefer to invest or save in other things
- Instead, he'd probably want a laid-back, calm, enjoyable life that's as close to normal as possible.
- It would be modern and ordinary, not very fancy or overdone.
~ B E O M G Y U ~
Tumblr media
- Beomgyu would go all out, probably a mansion or at least a luxury penthouse.
- Unlike Soobin and Yeonjun, he'd care a lot for his house as it's something he'll be living in for the rest of his life.
- He wants a nice home with modern, high-quality resources to use
- However, he would probably limit himself to spending money when he does buy a house. He would think seriously about which home was the best for him and his future family, what he'd want for himself and his future.
~ T A E H Y U N ~
Tumblr media
- Taehyun would either go all out or stay simple
- I believe that he's prefers going all out slightly more, just like Beomgyu.
- It's pretty much the same reasons. He wants some place for himself that will serve him for the rest of his life with rich resources. He's the type of person to want some place where he can be proud of all his work and savings.
- Taehyun, however, would take money very seriously. He's the type of person who knows that money doesn't just fall from a tree. He'd work really hard to achieve his dreams and his home.
~ H U E N I N G    K A I ~
Tumblr media
- Huening Kai would want a simpler life.
- He might even go as far to attain a house on the countryside or somewhere a little farther than the city.
- I feel like he wants to live a calm, peaceful life like Soobin, but at the same time, I feel like Huening is the type that would live in a house more than an apartment.
- It would be modern, very good quality, but not something he would invest a ton of time or money in.

"We need to break up."
You forced myself to look at Mark's face, who was beyond shock. His mouth hung open, gaping slightly, and his eyes flashed with confusion.
"W-what?" He dropped his backpack on the floor immediately and ran over to you, but you backed away. You nearly broke down when you saw the hurt in his eyes. "Y/n, what the hell is going on with you?"
You shook you head, looking away and trying not to let any tears fall out of your eyes. "It's over, Mark. I'm done." You gently took his hand and pressed the apartment keys into his hand. The keys to the home you'd once shared.
Mark looked at his hand in disbelief, and complete despair ran into his eyes when he saw you walking over to the suitcases. He hadn't seen them when he'd gotten home. His heart had never hurt as much as it did when you straightened yourself up and began to drag your belongings out of the apartment.
"Y/n, what the fuck are you doing?" He asked angrily, once his senses had come back. You were now at the door, putting on your shoes. Mark walked over quickly and pulled the suitcases out of your grasp. "Tell me what's happening. What did I do wrong? I promise, I can fix it."
Your heart ached. Nothing, Mark, you wanted to say. But you knew you couldn't. Instinctively, you jerked the bags back towards you. "I can't do this right now, Mark." You tried to turn away, but he pulled you back so you were facing him.
"Look, I don't know what went wrong or what I did. But please, just give me another chance. Give us another chance." He attempted to pull you into his embrace, but you pushed him away.
"I said I can't do this, Mark. Please don't make this any harder than this is."
"I don't understand!" Mark yelled, frustrated. "Nothing makes sense, y/n. We were fine last week! What happened between that time, huh?" He threw his hands up, tired and upset. "You've been acting strangely this past week, and now you suddenly break up with me out of the blue. I don't know what got to you, but you need to tell me what the fuck is going on."
You shook your head and looked him in the eye, dead serious. With all the power you had left, you said, "Mark, I'm not in love with you anymore." He turned to you, shocked and hurt. "I'm sorry I had to tell you this way, but I fell out of love a few weeks ago. I tried to make it work, but I've made up my mind. I'm sorry. I want to do this for myself, and I know it's a selfish decision. Trust me, please. It took a lot of time to choose, and you know it's best for you anyway. For us."
Mark shook his head, on the verge of tears. "Come on, y/n. Tell me this is all a lie." He took your hands and held them close to his face. "W-what did I do? Will you please tell me the truth?"
You wanted to hug him right then and there, but you knew this was for his own good. "Find someone better, Mark." You whispered. "I don't deserve someone like you."
Mark closed his eyes, hiding his face behind his hands. Slowly, carefully, you bent down and hugged him tightly, one last time. The last time your unborn baby would ever have any interaction with its father. You held back your tears and slowly let go.
"I'm so sorry, Mark." You said softly, trying not to let your voice waver. Resisting all the temptations to ruffle his hair and never let go of his hold, you shrugged his hands away and grabbed your suitcases. You didn't look back, not when you heard a nearly strangled cry of pain from your love as you left the apartment without another word.
It was for the best.
____________________________________________________________________________
You'd found out that you were pregnant exactly a week ago, just as Mark had mentioned. He was at work, as always, and you felt a sudden nauseous feeling rising in your stomach. You quickly ran to the bathroom and threw up whatever remained from your breakfast from that morning.
At first, you thought it was just bad food or stress that was causing the vomiting. But when you threw up for the fourth time that week, your colleague and best friend, Jiyeon, held your hair back and massaged your back. "Y/n, this isn't normal. Have you... have you ever considered the possibility of being pregnant?"
You widened your eyes. Of course, it was possible. You and Mark had sex pretty often, and you didn't like to use condoms. "We use birth control, though." You muttered to yourself. Jiyeon shook her head.
"There are some rare cases where it doesn't always work." She helped you up. "Wait here, okay? I'll go get a pregnancy test from my bag. I have a few left over from a couple years ago."
After she returned, she made you take the little pink stick and try the test. The wait was the longest time of your life. You had it in a styrafoam cup from the coffee machine so that you didn't have to look at it. You nervously paced back and forth around the bathroom, praying that it was negative.
"Y/n, it's time to check." Jiyeon gave you a look, hugging you tightly. "Come on, you'll be okay. What's the worst that can happen?"
A lot could happen. You decided to push away the negative thoughts and slowly walked up to the styrafoam cup. You took a deep breath and pulled the test up, horrified.
Two prominent lines screamed at your face.
Jiyeon walked over and glanced at the test, then hugged you again. "Congratulations mommy." She said, smiling at you. But you couldn't even muster a single smile. Instead, you broke down in tears and collapsed on the floor. Jiyeon, shocked, kneeled down and took your face in her hands.
"Y/n! Y/n, what's wrong?" She asked immediately. You shook your head.
"What am I gonna do, Jiyeon?" You cried into her shoulder. "This is going to ruin Mark's career."
There were so many things wrong with this situation. Mark was at the peak of his career, and nobody knew that you two were dating. Only the members and Jiyeon knew, and you only told Jiyeon because you would trust her with your life. You couldn't stand being the cause of a scandal that stuck to him with a bad reputation. Mark was so happy right now, so successful, so pleased with his job. It was the happiest you'd ever seen him.
But the baby. This could ruin everything that Mark had built up. Of course, the two of you had discussed the possibility of a child, but you'd agreed that it would have to be much later. In fact, Mark had said with his own mouth that a baby at this moment wouldn't be ideal. There was too much going on, and the two of you were both busy. Mark was always home late from dance practice and recording sessions, and you were still in training to become a doctor. There just wasn't any time.
Jiyeon helped you up. "Hey, no matter what happens, I'll be there for you, okay? You've got this." Her words warmed you heart, and you couldn't help but sniffle into her shoulder for a bit longer before standing up tall.
At that point, you had already made your decision. You couldn't tell Mark. Other people might've viewed this as a selfish standpoint, but you couldn't care less. You were the only one that understood how this baby could lead to the downfall of Mark's career. And even if you had the baby, it would never receive any love or care throughout its childhood.
Abortion was a consideration, but the more you thought about it, the less fond you became of it. The baby had done nothing wrong. You were the one who forgot the birth control pill, so you had to take full responsibility for it. And the idea of a baby, a mini you or a mini Mark, just made your heart beat faster. You had to keep the baby, but you couldn't let Mark know.
And so, here you were, crying silently on a park bench while cradling your stomach. The baby couldn't really be seen yet, but you could feel the connection inside of you. It hurt so badly. All you wanted was to run into Mark's embrace. But this was for the best.
What had to be done was done.
________________________________________________________________________
"Mom!" Gayoung let out a screech of delight as she hurtled herself into you. You laughed and brushed her hair softly, taking her hand.
It had been nearly five years since you'd left Mark. Gayoung was four, and very bright for her age. You were lucky to have her, but your heart ached every time she asked where her dad was. All you could say was, "He's always with us, Gayoung. He loves you very much and he wants to be here, but he's too busy sometimes. You'll see him one day."
And that was partially true. A part of him was always in Gayoung. Every time you looked at her, all you could see was Mark. Thankfully, the resemblance wasn't very strong to other peoples' eyes, but the only things that struck out to you were the similarities that she'd inherited from him. There were only a few; his wide, round eyes and his uncontrollable laugh that made you smile were by far your favorite traits.
"Mom, can we go get ice cream? It was the last day of preschool." Gayoung begged. You let out a smile, knowing that you could never say no to her.
"Alright, but we have to go home straight after that. Aunt Jiyeon is looking after you today with Hena."
The first few years were miserable, and you had wanted nothing but Mark at your side. Gayoung was hard to handle. She cried, screamed, and was a bad-tempered toddler for the first two years. After her third year, she became much easier to take care of. Before, you had to manage a newborn baby and the internship at your hospital at the same time. Jiyeon was like an angel, helping you every step of the way. She and her husband already had a daughter, Hena, who was nearly two years older than Gayoung. They hung out so much that they soon became best friends. You and Jiyeon switched around babysitting. When the both of you had work, her husband would offer to watch them. You were lucky to have them at your side.
"I'll have one vanilla cone dipped in chocolate, please." You told the vendor at the ice cream booth. As you took your purse out to pay, someone bumped into you, and all the coins scattered in the ground.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry." A man's voice said, turning to pick up the coins. You looked down to see a pair of familiar eyes.
"J-jisung?" You asked, shocked. You and Jisung had been pretty close when you were dating Mark, but after the breakup, you hadn't seen him again.
Jisung looked up, shocked to see you gaping at him. "Y/n?" He stood up immediately. "What are you doing here?"
"I, um..." You started to stammer, but a little tug on your pants made you turn to look at your daughter.
"Mommy, you still need to pay." She reminded you, pointing up at the vendor, who was still waiting for the money.
"Oh, right. Shit." You opened your purse to take out your card, but Jisung beat you to it.
"I'll pay. It's my treat, after seeing you in so long." You thanked him, still feeling overwhelmed. All you wanted to know was if Mark was doing fine. But you weren't in the place to ask that.
After Gayoung got her ice cream and ran to the edge of the lake to look at the ducks, you and Jisung sat down at a nearby bench to watch her.
"So, you have a daughter, huh?" Jisung asked, sounding slightly cold and surprised.
"Yeah, I do." You smiled at her fondly. "Her name's Gayoung."
"I see." Jisung said. "The father must be proud."
You stiffened slightly. Had he caught on at all? There was no way. Gayoung didn't resemble much other than the laugh and the round eyes. Yet all you could see when you looked at her was Mark. Had Jisung thought about it the same way?
"Y-yeah. He is." You lied, watching as Gayoung squealed when a duck spashed into the water.
You and Jisung remained silent for a while, watching Gayoung flap around. When you couldn't take it anymore, you burst out, "How are you and the others doing?"
Jisung gave you a knowing look. "I know what you're asking, y/n." He fiddled with his hands. "Mark's fine. Obsessed with work, you know. Couple of blind dates, flings, but no more than that."
You nodded, letting out a small breath. You didn't know what you'd been expecting. For him to have a girlfriend? Fiance? A wife, even?
"Why did you break up with him?" Jisung asked suddenly. You flinched, but Jisung didn't seem to notice.
"I... it just wasn't working." You whispered, feeling uncomfortable. You sat up before Jisung could ask you any more questions. "Thank you for the ice cream, Jisung. It was nice talking to you, but I have a shift in less than an hour. I have to drop of Gayoung before I head to the hospital."
Jisung sat up to, and held onto your arm. "Wait." He scribbled something down on a napkin and handed it to you. "Please, call me whenever. It's been a while. The least I could do is treat you and your family to dinner."
You tried to hand it back, but he was adamant about it. "Jisung, you already paid for her ice cream. It's fine, really."
He shook his head though, still as stubborn as ever. "At least let me meet up sometime. Please."
You finally sighed, accepting it. "Alright. Fine." You turned towards Gayoung and called her over. "Thanks again, Jisung. I'll call you soon."
He let out a wave and pat Gayoung on the shoulder, watching as you walked the other direction to the parking lot, holding Gayoung's hand tightly.
"Mommy, who is that?" Gayoung asked loudly. You quieted her.
"It's an old friend of mine. He's very nice, isn't he?"
Gayoung frowned. "I think I saw him on television once, Mom. He looked familiar."
You heart nearly stopped. "Oh, did you really?" You opened the car door for her. "You know, maybe he's famous now. We'll have to ask him next time."
Gayoung was way too curious for her own good.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jisung walked through the dorm, letting out a sigh. He didn't want to doubt you, but he had a gut-wrenching feeling that something was off. Gayoung looked around four.... and it had been about four years since you and Mark had split up. And there was some sort of uncanny resembance between the two. But he didn't want to accuse you or make a wrong deduction.
"Hyung?" He called out for Mark tentatively. Mark was always absorbed in work now. Work, work, work. It was one of the bad habits he hadn't been able to let go of after the breakup.
"I'm here, Jisung." Mark's voice called from his room. Jisung walked in slowly and sighed when he saw his workaholic friend typing away on a computer.
"Hey, hyung, can we talk for a sec?" Mark dragged his eyes away from the computer, stopping at the end of a sentence.
"Does it have to be now, Ji? I have to finish this report."
Jisung held his shoulders and sat him down on the bed.
"Hyung... I met y/n today."
Mark froze, looking into Jisung's eyes. "You did what?" He slammed his book down on the bed and stood up, but couldn't seem to speak.
Jisung raised his hands up in defense. "It wasn't intentional, I swear. I was walking through the park for some air and I saw her. But that's not all, hyung. I saw her with a kid."
Mark choked on air. "A kid? Are you sure, Ji?" He ran a hand through his hair. "I don't know about that. What if it wasn't actually her kid?"
Jisung looked at him with sympathy. "Come on, hyung. I talked with her. It's her daughter."
Mark collapsed on the bed, overwhelmed with emotions. You had a child. You had moved on so quickly.
Jisung knelt down. "I gave her your number. The new one." He leaped away just in time before Mark pounced on him.
"You what?" He yelled, taking Jisung's shoulders and shaking him. "Are you insane, Jisung?" He stormed out of the room and returned with his phone in a flash. "How do you even have my number memorized?" Before Jisung could even answer, Mark shook his head. "No, never mind. It's not important. Go right back and find her and tell her that you're sorry that it was the wrong number."
"No, hyung!" Jisung ran out and grabbed Mark's hand. "What if she wants to see you?"
"She doesn't!" Mark yelled. "She told me she was done, that she didn't love me anymore, that she just can't do this anymore. She doesn't want to see me, okay Jisung?" Without another word, he angrily walked out of his room and slammed the door shut. Jisung went right after him.
"Hyung, she was literally dying to know how you were doing. Whether you want it or not, I'm sure she wants to catch up and know how you're doing. Trust me on this."
There was no response, and Jisung sighed. "I'm sorry if this wasn't what you wanted to hear, but please respond to her and talk. There's something off about this entire situation."
When there was still no response, Jisung sighed and left, just as a little ringing trill sounded from Mark's phone on his bedroom desk. And all he could do was stare at the unknown number, knowing exactly who it was.
Y/N: Hey Jisung, this is y/n. When do you want to meet up?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You sighed and leaned back on your chair. Beside you, another colleague, Jongho, placed a cup of iced green tea next to your desk.
"Thank you. I needed this." You said, taking a large gulp of it, feeling the liquid travel down your throat. It had been nearly a week since your encounter with Jisung, and he hadn't responded yet. You were almost embarassed.
"No problem. You seem pretty tired today. Anything I can do to help?" Jongho asked, logging into the computer next to yours.
You shrugged. "Not unless you can reunite a four year old kid with her father." You muttered to yourself, not loud enough for Jongho to hear. "No, I'm fine. Just a bit tired. Thank you, though."
After you finished your evening shift, you drove back to Jiyeon's and picked Gayoung up. She was sound asleep, but when you touched her forehead, you could feel flames shooting up inside her little body.
"Oh, no." You whispered, and shook her awake to drink some water. "Gayoung, you okay? You're burning."
"I don't feel so good, Mommy." She said, voice rasping. She closed her eyes again and seemed to fall into some sort of a lucid dream. You quickly set her down in her car seat, then turned the engine on to drive to the pharmacy.
You were worried. Gayoung had always been a weak child when she got sick, and it took ages for her to recover. Occasionally, you even had to take her to the ER because her pains weren't able to be controlled by over-the-counter medicine.
Paranoid about your daughter getting kidnapped or getting even sicker, you picked her up in your arms and walked into the pharmacy. The heat from her body was radiating against you as you nearly ran to the section with the strongest medicine they supplied. But you nearly dropped Gayoung when you saw a familiar figure standing in front of the shelves. The figure turned, and the box of medicine for fevers dropped from his fingers.
"Y/n?" He said, the same time you whispered, "Mark?"
You didn't know what to say. This was what you'd always longed for, wasn't it? For you to be here with Gayoung and her father, to be reunited and as a happy family. This was it, minus the happy family part. But all you could feel was a cold sweat running down your back and distraught buzzing through your veins.
Mark had barely even changed. He looked a bit older, perhaps a little more mature, but everything about him remained the same. His messy dark hair, the glasses he liked the most, even his clothing style were just as you'd remembered.
"I-I didn't expect to see you here." You stammered, shifting Gayoung to your other arm just for a distraction. Mark's eyes followed you like a hawk, lingering on Gayoung's face for a bit too long for your comfort. What if he found out? What would happen then?
"Neither did I." He admitted, not quite looking into your eyes. Silence fell over the two of you again.
"Yeah," You said, attempting to start a conversation. "I just had to come get some medicine for Gayoung. She's burning up."
"Gayoung?" Mark questioned, and you realized that he didn't even know who your daughter was.
"Sorry, that was rude of me." You smiled at your sleeping daughter, who was muttering quiet, incoherent things while dreaming. "This is Gayoung. She... she's my daughter."
"Oh." Mark's voice cracked. He bent down to pick up the box of medicine, but you could tell that his hands were shaking. "You already have a daughter?"
You looked away and nodded. "Yeah. It was unexpected, but I wouldn't change a thing that happened." And you knew it was true.
"I see." Mark whispered, and stepped back. You took this time to walk forward and quickly take a box of medicine just so you could leave again. This was too awkward. You didn't know what to say or how to process anything that was happening. But as you scanned the shelves, you realized that Mark had taken the last box of medicine for fever, and your heart sank with disappointment. Gayoung would have to do with the other weaker medicine for toddlers that you still had at home.
"Here, take this one." Mark seemed to know what was wrong, and held out the box.
"No, Mark, I can't." You gently pushed his hand away. "We have medicine at home. It's fine." It was also pretty obvious that Mark was extremely sick as well. His voice sounded as though he were on the other side of a glass wall.
He shook his head, stubborn as ever. "I do too. Besides, you know this is the only medicine suitable for her age." That was true, but you felt too shameful to take the box.
When you didn't reply, Mark sighed and took your hand, placing the box on your palm. "Please. Take it. I'll be fine without it."
"I-" You tried to resist, but Gayoung's flaming forehead touched your skin once again. You bit back your refusal for the sake of your daughter. His daughter. "I'm sorry. Thank you."
Mark looked at his feet awkwardly. "It's no problem." He hurriedly turned around, back facing you. "I have to go now. It was nice to see you again, y/n." He rushed out before you even had to chance to ask him to wait. Your heart ached with sadness as you imagined how different your life would be with him still in it. All three of you as a happy family. But you knew that couldn't happen.
"Mom?" Gayoung croaked out, bringing you back to your senses.
"It's okay, Gayoung." You held her closer to your body and walked to the register to check out the medicine.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"For the last fucking time, y/n! Focus!" Professor Kim snapped at you. You jerked out of your thoughts and bowed to him in apology.
"I'm so sorry, Mr. Kim. I was just lost in my thoughts." You scrambled to collect yourself, brushing your hair to the side.
Professor Kim rolled his eyes and stared at you pointedly before continuing the meeting.
"What the fuck was that, y/n?" Jiyeon hissed at you as you both exited the room half an hour later. "You're never 'lost in your thoughts'."
You shook your head. "I'll tell you later, Jiyeon." She sighed and rubbed your shoulders in comfort.
"I'm worried about you, you know that? For the past month, you've been acting so weirdly at the strangest times. What happened?"
It had already been a month since you'd met Mark? You shook your head. "No. It's fine, Jiyeon." You walked briskly towards the surgical rooms. "Come on, we have to get to the cafe line before Miss Oh gets there. You know how she spends an entire lifetime deciding if she'd rather have steak or pasta."
As you were walking towards the cafe, you heard someone call out your name. "Y/n?" You turned to see Jongho jogging towards you, catching his breath. "Sorry. Hold on." He skidded to a stop before you and held his hands at his knees. "The front desk just got a call saying that your daughter has been waiting an hour to be picked up from the daycare."
You looked at him in confusion. "Huh? That doesn't make any sense. It's Wednesday; she's supposed to be picked up at...." You trailed off as you realized what had happened. "Oh shit." You ran towards the parking lot as quickly as you could, dread filling your body. "Go on without me, Jiyeon! I'll buy you something next time." You called back towards her. She nodded in understanding, and you rushed towards your car.
"I'm so, so sorry, Gayoung." You said to nobody as you jumped in your car and sped towards the daycare. She was probably all alone, wondering where and when her mother was going to pick her up.
When you got there, you were met with an unexpected surprise. Gayoung gave you a toothy grin at the front of the building, sitting on the grass with an ice cream in her hand. Beside her were two men, smiling as she ate her cone happily.
"Mommy!" Gayoung exclaimed, and got up to hug your leg. You ruffled her hair, but you were even more shocked to see Jisung and Mark walking towards you.
"What-what's going on here?" You asked, mind processing things too slowly.
"Hey, y/n." Jisung said, smiling at you. "We were over at the ice cream stand, but we saw Gayoung over here waiting and she said you were running late. We just figured we'd wait along with her."
"Thank you." You said gratefully, warmed at their thoughtfulness. Gayoung tugged at your hand.
"Mommy, did you know that those uncles are famous?" She asked curiously. A flash of panic ran through your mind. What had she learned while staying with them?
"Wow, really? That's amazing, Gayoung. Now you can say that you've met celebrities!" You faked a smile at her, and she nodded happily. On the inside, it felt like ice was freezing along your stomach.
"What can I do to pay you back?" You asked, taking Gayoung's hand and walking towards your car with the two.
"That's bullshit, y/n. Why would you need to pay us back?" Jisung said.
You shook your head. "No, come on. First the ice cream, the medicine, and now this. And another ice cream, it looks like. What can I do?"
Jisung's eyes lightened as though he'd suddenly thought of an idea. "Come to dinner with me and Mark."
"...now?" You asked hesitantly.
Jisung nodded. "I mean, Gayoung told us that your shift was supposed to have ended at three. That should mean you have the rest of the day off, right?"
You silently cursed yourself for leaving Gayoung with them. She could be a blabbermouth at times.
"Alright, fine." You agreed.
There was a small, cozy tteokbokki shop around the corner that the two had been heading towards. They had booked a separate dining room for themselves, so at least nobody would overhear your conversation. When you entered the restaurant, a waiter slipped you into the room with Mark, Jisung, and Gayoung, then took your orders and left. You let out a sigh as Gayoung held up an empty pitcher.
"Where's the water?" She asked, shaking it around. Mark smiled at her.
"You have to go fill it yourself. There's a little water fountain at the back of the room. Wanna come to fill it with me?"
You wanted to protest, but held back your words when Gayoung squealed happily and took his hand before you could say anything else. Your heart clenched when you saw their interaction. It was so close to being together as a family, yet so far away. Hell, Mark didn't even know that it was his child's hand he was holding right now.
"Gayoung told us a lot of interesting things today." Jisung commented. You stiffened quickly. What sorts of things had she spilled? "She's four, her birthday's in a couple of months, she has a little dog at home too." You relaxed a little. Perhaps Gayoung was smart enough not to tell strangers important things. You reached over for a glass of water just as Jisung spoke again.
"And... she has no dad at home at the moment." You choked on air as soon as you heard the words and coughed awkwardly.
"Yeah, he's not with us right now, currently. He'll be back, though." You lied.
Jisung raised an eyebrow at you. "From what I've heard, he's never been home at all."
You looked at your lap, heat rising to your face. The secret that you'd kept hidden for nearly five whole years was starting to unravel, and contrary to how you'd thought you'd react, all you could feel was dread and nervousness. To your relief, the door opened again as Mark and Gayoung entered the room again, freshly poured water in the pitcher, and thankfully, Jisung knew to shut his mouth.
Gayoung fell asleep only fifteen minutes after she finished her food, and Jisung ended up having to leave after a phone call. The silence between you and Mark was nearly unbearable.
"She's mine, isn't she?" The words caught you off guard, but you weren't as flustered as you had been when Jisung had implied it.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about." You responded, trying to avoid his question.
Mark let out a deep breath. "Gayoung. I know she's my daughter, y/n. You don't have to hide it anymore."
You felt an unknown tear falling down your cheek. "How did you know?" Even the question sounded stupid to you. Gayoung would've given him all the hints he'd needed to connect the dots. It wasn't that hard.
Mark shook his head. "Four years old. Doesn't have a dad. And I know you're not the type of person to cheat or hook up with another man right after the breakup." He shook his head again, eyes watering.
"Why did you hide it from me, y/n?" He sat back. "Even if you had fallen out of love, how could you be so cruel and have your daughter live without a father for the rest of her life?"
Tears blurred your eyes and rolled down your cheeks. "No, Mark. How could I ever fall out of love with you?" You buried your head in your hands. "I never fell out of love, Mark. And you wouldn't have ever understood how hard it was to make the decision to leave."
Mark looked baffled and simply sat there. "So you're telling me that... you left? Because... because why? Why I- just- I-" He blabbered in shock.
You blew your nose quickly and turned to look at Gayoung's sleeping face. You didn't want to look at Mark right now. "I found out I was pregnant a week before I... left." You let out a breath. "I didn't know how to feel. I mean, I was happy, of course, but at the same time, I wondered what the hell it could do to you. A couple weeks before, you had even told me that you weren't fond of the idea of having a baby at the moment because we're both so busy. And at the time, you were at the peak of your career. I didn't want to ruin it because of a fucking mistake I made. And... I guess I didn't want to be the one to get dumped because of a baby." You wiped another tear from your cheek. "I know it was stupid. All those years, it was so hard for me, Mark. I just wanted someone at my side." You shook your head and let out a bitter laugh. "No, I wanted you at my side. I wanted you to be there during the birth, for her first words, first walk, for everything. But I reminded myself that this was always for the best."
You closed your eyes, waiting for the yelling and accusations to start, but none of that came. Instead, a pair of warm arms wrapped around your torso, and you could feel Mark's tears falling from his eyes to your shoulder. His body shook along with yours as you both wept into each other's embrace.
"You're right." Mark said after a while. "It was a stupid decision. Whatever I said or not, nothing could ever have ruined my career. It would only have made it better." He took your hand, still refusing to look in your eyes. "Did you really think I could leave you just like that, y/n? While you're carrying my child?" He looked away, obviously upset.
"I was dumb back then," you whispered. "I still am. I don't know why I didn't trust you, Mark. That was the only part I regretted every single day. I'll do whatever it takes to make it up to you."
Mark slowly looked into your eyes, for the first real time in 4 years. "Let me be a real dad to my daughter. I hope to make up for all the years I was absent in her life. I want to spend the rest of it with her too." He bent his head slightly. "that's all I can ask for."
Happiness sprang into your heart as you hugged him tightly. "That was an easy request." You teased him. You pulled away and looked straight into his brown eyes. "And you promise you'll always be with me?"
He took your hand and childishly hooked his pinkie with yours. You let out a small laugh. "I promise." He said. "It's for the best, anyway."

i’m sorry, but the end is slightly rushed for this chapter. i just ran out of ideas to end this chapter with, but i promise the next will be better! enjoy!
You had never imagined yourself to be sitting on an old, wet bench at one o' clock when you first stepped foot in Seoul.
Yet that was exactly where you were; soaked from head to toe, shivering, and waiting desperately for the next bus to arrive. In one numb hand, you clutched onto a fragile ticket, which was already ripping from the rain. You couldn't stop shaking, even thought it was the middle of summer. You had definitely not been prepared, so you only wore a thin cotton shirt with jeans.
It all started when you received an acceptance letter from Yonsei University. You couldn't have been happier. Your life had been complete hell the past few weeks; when you were fifteen, your parents had died in a fire along with your sister, your home, your everything. You had been sent to Korea to live with your grandparents, who had always been kind to you. What you weren't expecting, though, was for them to treat you like filth. Every passing day was torture for you. Your grandfather hated you because you lived and his daughter, your mother, didn't. Your grandmother hated you because, in her paranoid mind, you killed your family. You weren't allowed to hang out, get an allowance, or have a meal with the family while you stayed. During the worst days, both your grandparents would physically abuse you.
Because of the neglectance, you had quickly learned to fend for yourself in the cruel world. You got a job at a nearby market, barely managing to cope with the creepy stares from old men and very convincing scam deals. It paid barely the minimum wage, but it was enough for you. You had always been a careful person, so everything you earned went to savings. You were able to get free food during your shifts, and part of the money was used for tuition. Everything else was collected and stored safely at the bank. Thankfully, you had already had an account there that your grandparents didn't know about, so all you had to do was deposit the money.
After your family's death, all you did was work and study. You had a few friends at school, but you didn't consider them close. In fact, you had closed off almost everyone when you arrived in Seoul. You didn't want to love and lose ever again. You were still a kind, friendly person, but you didn't let anyone get close enough to unlock your heart.
The only person you truly considered a friend was Heejin, who was a few years older than you. She was the first person who warmly welcomed you to Korea and got you the job at the mart. The two of you quickly became close, and you began to trust her more than anyone else in the world.
When you got your acceptance letter, Heejin was thrilled. She immediately invited you to the Lee Boarding House, the hostel she was currently staying at while she attended Seoul University. "Oh, y/n. You'll love it here. All the kids are so nice and kind... oh, you'll just love it!" She squealed. You had to stifle a smile on the other side of the phone.
"Of course I'll go. I promise." You said, but couldn't help but wonder how you would break the news to your grandparents.
Turns out, you didn't. You left the night before, too nervous and excited to say anything. You left a small note on the kitchen counter, saying your thanks and wishing them your best. And when the little melodic ring vibrated after you closed the keypad, you finally felt relaxed for the first time.
Of course, things didn't go as well as you'd planned. It never did. You ended up missing your first train, riding the wrong bus, and falling asleep and getting off on the wrong stop. And so here you were, drenched in the pouring rain, cold, hungry, and slightly frightened. You'd called Heejin an hour ago, but she was still having trouble finding you. The last time you'd called was ten minutes ago, and she'd gotten an idea of where you were. You felt bad; she'd had to take her own car and drive out at midnight to try to find you.
"Hey there, young lady." A rasping voice caught your attention, and you jumped as a young man in his twenties walked up to you and sat down too close for your comfort. You shuffled slightly away, but he just closed up the space between the two of you every time you moved.
"W-what do you want?" You asked, wishing your voice sounded older and more mature. Right now, you sounded frightened and squeaky.
The man let out a toothy grin, sending shivers down your spine. "Just want to talk, you know?" He stank of alcohol and smoke. You tried to ignore him, but it was hard when he moved even closer, almost to the point where your shoulders were touching. Unfortunately, you were used to this behavior, but it had never gotten too out of hand. You looked around desperately, hoping that Heejin was nearby.
"Why won't you talk to me?" He asked, still smirking. You stood up and took your bags, looking for somewhere to walk to. Heejin had told you not to move, but there wasn't another option now.
"Hey!" The man yelled when you started walking in the other direction. He immediately jumped up and grabbed your wrist. Letting out a shriek, you tried to fling him away, but his hold was too strong.
"Let go of me!" You screeched, trying to tug your arm out of his embrace. But he pulled back, and you nearly collapsed on top of him. At this point, you were so frightened that you were nearly to the point of tears. He was too strong, and there was no way anyone would be able to hear you in this sketchy neighborhood. Still, you let out a strong scream, crying for help.
"She told you to let go." Another male voice said quietly. Startled, both you and the man grabbing your wrists looked up to see a lean figure towering over. He stepped into the light, and you couldn't help but admire his beauty. His straight black hair, pale skin, and almond eyes glanced down at you for a second before offering a hand to help you up. You latched on, only to be pushed back down by the first man.
"Oh no you don't. You're coming with me." He snarled, and you screamed as he dragged you along the pavement.
"She said to let go!" The second man said again, this time much stronger and louder. He grabbed your free hand tightly and hoisted you up, then slapped away the dirty hand that was still sticking to you. The man let out an angry breath.
"Listen here, you son of a bitch. I don't know who you are and what you're trying to do, but this young lady and I were having a nice conversation. I was just gonna take her someplace nicer to spend the night." He spat.
"Oh, really? I don't think that she would scream for help and be dragged away if that was the case." The lean man calmly spoke back. "I suggest you get lost, sir, before I call the cops on  you."
The other man narrowed his eyes at him. "You think you're all so mighty, don't you? Living in that dream with all the other stuck-up boarding house kids. Well I'll tell you what, you are despised. Hated. By all the other poorer fellows like me who can't afford that dream. Keep that in mind. We're not all like you and your gang." He spat in his face one last time, glared at you, and turned away to limp back into the shadows.
It took a while for you to notice that you were shivering again, and bleeding. The man beside you slowly let go of your hand, then turned so you were facing him. "Hey, you okay?" He asked gently. You tried to talk, but found it hard. "I-I-"
"It's okay. Here, I'll take you back to my dorm. We can get that elbow bandaged and make a cup of tea for you. Does that sound alright?"
You nodded, not really knowing what else to say. You let him take your shoulders and guide you to the left.
He didn't have any other mode of transportation, so the two of you walked in silence for nearly an hour before you approached a tall, lively house. Little garden gnomes were handmade and painted outside, along with other little trinkets like pinwheels. The garden was absolutely gorgeous, full of flowers and even a vegetable garden in the back. There was a sign hanging over the entrance, but it was too dark to see. Gently, the man next to you took out a key from his pocket and unlocked the door, all without leaving his other hand from your shoulders. It was a comforting touch, and you were grateful. You hadn't been treated like this in a while.
You were surprised to see that the lights were completely on. It was around 2 am, so you'd expected everyone else in his dorm to be asleep. That was, until you saw a familiar figure sitting on the steps, head in her hands until she looked up. The two of you made eye contact, shocked.
"Heejin?" You gasped, astounded, at the same time that she screamed, "Y/n!" Heejin leaped up and hugged you, fussing over everything.
"OHMYGOD YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" She screamed again. "I can't-what-how-how did you even get here?" She shook her head. "Never mind that. Why the fuck are you bleeding? What happened to you? OH MY GOD. What is happening?" She turned her head behind her and yelled, "JENO, CALL JAEM AND HYUCK AND TELL THEM TO STOP THE SEARCH!"
"I-uh," you tried to respond. "I'm just... I don't know how to feel."
"I'll tell you later, Heejin."
You'd almost forgotten that the other man was standing right next to you. Apparently, Heejin had too.
"Whoa, Doyoung's home?" She raised an eyebrow. "This is shocking. And you found y/n too?"
You blinked, still slow and confused. "D-doyoung?" You turned to him. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm y/n."
Doyoung chuckled and held out a hand. "I figured. I'm Kim Doyoung. I guess you're the new girl Heejin invited to stay with us."
You let out a small smile. "Yeah, I guess so. Thanks for... everything."
He returned your smile. "Anytime."
Heejin was exchanging looks between you and Doyoung, obviously confused. She decided not to question it, and instead hooked your arm with hers. "Okay, I'll ask later. Come on, y/n. We've gotta get that wound cleaned up."
As she tidied you up, she explained everything. How her car had broken down in the middle of a street, so two other boys named Jaemin and Haechan had to take their cars and go searching for you. She also introduced you to the others in the house; Jeno, whose parents ran the boarding house; Jaemin, who was Jeno's best friend; Haechan and his girlfriend, Yuna, who were family friends; Mark, who was an exchange student from Canada. They all seemed like nice people, but you were only curious about one person.
"What about Doyoung? Who's he?" You asked.
"Oh, Doyoung." Heejin shrugged. "He's like... the financial supporter of the house, you could say. He invests money for Jeno's parents, lives here, that shit. Hella cold, I'll tell you that. He's not here a lot of the time, mostly because he likes to go club or fuck or study. Either one of those three."
"Oh." You said. That was all you had to say. It was definitely not the first impression that you'd been given of him.
"Here, y/n." Jaemin came into Heejin's room with a knock, holding a large mug of tea. "Doyoung hyung told me what happened. I hope you're okay."
Heejin whipped her head around to you. "Oh yes, you still haven't told me about anything that happened. How, why, what? Spill."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you explained the whole story, Heejin sat there, bug-eyed. "You idiot! How could you do that? I specifically told you not to wander. What would've happened if Doyoung hadn't been there?"
She ranted on for hours until Jaemin calmed her down. It took a lot of convincing, but Jaemin managed to get Heejin to lead you to your room and leave you alone. After she left, he closed the door and let out a small smile and laugh.
"She's a lot to handle, isn't she?" He said, coming over to sit at your desk.
"That's what makes her Heejin, though. I wouldn't change her for anything." You replied, settling down on the bed. Talking with Jaemin was easy. The words just came naturally, and he understood everything without you needing to say it out loud.
"For sure." He agreed, rubbing his knuckles. In the short amount of time, you'd noticed that he did that a lot. It was a cute habit.
"Hey, if you want, you should come with us to the beach tomorrow. It's nice and relaxing, and barely any people know about this section that we go to. Hell, even Doyoung's going." He took out his phone and showed you a picture. It was stunning, but what shocked you more was the quality of the photo.
"Did you take this yourself?" You asked, amazed. The picture was crystal clear and captured all the perfect parts.
Jaemin turned bright red. "I'm really into photography. That's what I'm majoring in, too."
You grinned. "It's beautiful. You should show me some tips when we go to the beach tomorrow."
Jaemin widened his eyes. "So you're going with us?"
You nodded. Honestly, the answer had been clear since the invitation. You loved the beach, but you barely had any time to go. The last time you'd gone was a few years ago for your cousin's wedding, and you'd only been allowed on the shore.
"I love the beach." You confessed. "It's just so relaxing, you know? And it's best when there's no people. It's warm, quiet, beautiful, mesmerizing."
Jaemin nodded. "You'll love this place." He said, taking his phone and standing up to give you time to rest. "I promise."
You smiled. "It was nice meeting you, Jaemin. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
He smiled awkwardly, and opened the door. "Tomorrow." He agreed, and left you alone in the warmth of your room.

We broke up a month ago Your friends are mine, you know, I know You've moved on, found someone new One more girl who brings out the better in you
You sat blankly at the table, a cup of tea in your hands. It was cold from being left untouched for so long. Across from you, your best friend, Mark, looked at you with pity and exasperation.
"Come on, y/n. Please drink it. Or eat something. Should I order something?" His eyes sparkled and he leaped up from the bed. "We could go and try the new combo at the fried chicken restaurant down the street! Jeno went there a few days ago; he said it was the best thing he's ever had."
You let out a small shrug, trying to smile. Mark could see right through you, and the light in his eyes died.
"Y/n, how long are you going to keep moping over him? He's a piece of trash. Leave him and forget about it."
You felt tears flooding into your eyes. Again. You tried not to let them spill, but you couldn't help it and just started crying against Mark's chest for the millionth time this week.
"How could he move on so quickly, Mark? Three years. Three whole years of us and all our memories, and he found a new girl in less than a week. It's pathetic, isn't it? The fact that I can't get over him and he's hooking up with another chick not even a few days after we called it quits." You sniffled into his arms.
Mark let out a sigh, almost at the verge of tears himself. He never knew that Taeyong could just leave behind his entire past in such a quick time. It had shocked all of them, honestly, that their friend could be such a horrible person.
"I know, y/n. I know." He let you cry your pain away, at least temporarily, coaxing you by speaking soft words into your ears, stroking your hair. If he could hide the truth, he would've in an instant. But everyone was connected. You, Taeyong, Mark, all the members were best friends. There was no way that you couldn't have known. Even after you and Taeyong had broken up, you still remained in touch with the rest of the 22 boys. Your bond with them was so close that you would never be able to just leave them because of the breakup. Of course, Mark had expected you to find out, but he was hoping to stall the time for at least a few more days. Everything had been going fine until Haechan had opened his big fat mouth and told you that Taeyong was with another girl. Though you pretended to be fine at the time, you began to sob as soon as you set foot in your apartment.
After you'd finished weeping for the day, Mark helped hoist you up. "Come on, y/n. You've got this. Let's go try the new chicken, hm?" He grabbed your hand, ignoring your protests, and shoved you out the door.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And I thought my heart was detached From all the sunlight of our past But she's so sweet, she's so pretty Does she mean you forgot about me?
As soon as you entered the chicken restaurant, you wanted to exit as fast as you'd come in. But Mark didn't see. He didn't see him. And though you tried to protest and quickly whisper that Taeyong was in the same shop as you two were, Mark ignored all of it, thinking that you were paranoid of being outside for the first time in five days. And by the time his and Taeyong's eyes met, there was nothing he could do.
"Will this table be alright?" The waitress asked, breaking the intensity of Mark's glare.
"Huh? Oh, um, yeah I guess. Thanks." He quickly turned to you. "You wanna leave? We can if you want."
You hesitated, considering it. It hurt to see Taeyong again, and especially with his new girl. He looked so... okay. Unfazed, laughing at the girl's words, smiling like he was in love all over again. But leaving would look weak now.
"No. Let's just stay." You said, looking down at the menu. You couldn't stand to see Taeyong's huge smile, which wasn't in your direction. Mark looked surprised, but he obliged, not wanting to have you starve for another day.
After you'd ordered, you couldn't help but steal glances at the new couple. They were so perfect. She was absolutely beautiful. You could simply tell by looking at her backside. Her posture was straight, she had gorgeous dark hair, and she had such fair complexity. It wasn't fair. You looked down at yourself, wishing you'd tidied yourself up a bit more before coming here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, I hope you're happy But not like how you were with me I'm selfish, I know, I can't let you go So find someone great, but don't find no one better I hope you're happy, but don't be happier
When the chicken came out, you honestly almost forgot about Taeyong altogether. Jeno had been right; it was the most delicious thing you'd ever tasted. You began to feel relaxed again, and more like yourself. You almost forgot about everything that had happened earlier this week. Almost.
"Oh, excuse me." Cold water spilled on your lap, accidentally knocked down by someone's bag, and a pair of hands quickly began to grab napkins from the table and help you wipe off. You looked up to see a beautiful girl, looking apologetic as she hurriedly soaked the tissues with water.
Your heart stilled for a second when you looked behind her to see Taeyong's frozen frame. The two of you didn't look away until the girl straightened up and bowed down to you.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to spill the water. I'm very sorry again." You managed to give her a half-hearted smile.
"It's okay, it's not your fault." It's not your fault that Taeyong left me for you.
The girl let out an embarrassed, apologetic smile and held out a hand. "I'm Siyeon, by the way. Nice to meet you."
You tried to smile again but failed miserably. Instead, you shook her hand. "Y/n. This is my friend, Mark."
Mark, who had been glaring daggers at Taeyong, looked away for a few seconds and shook Siyeon's hand as well. Siyeon stepped back and gazed up at Taeyong adoringly.
"This is my boyfriend, Taeyong." She smiled softly, and then looked embarrassed when he didn't say anything. "Yongie..." She muttered.
Taeyong shook his head. "Yes, sorry." He seemed uncertain as of what to say. He cleared his throat. "I- nice to see you again, y/n. You too, Mark."
Siyeon looked surprised. "You all know each other?"
You shrugged a little. "Just a bit. Mark and Taeyong work together, so I've come across him a few times."
Siyeon laughed. "Oh, that's nice. Yongie, why didn't you tell me? We could've had a friendly dinner together." She slapped his chest playfully and turned back to the two of you. "I'm glad to have met you, y/n, Mark. Hopefully, we can grab a bite to eat together next time." She took Taeyong's hand and started towards the door. "Let's meet again sometime! Text Taeyong to let us know." She waved, and in an instant, the couple left.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you're happy I wish you all the best, really Say you love her, baby, just not like you loved me And think of me fondly when your hands are on her I hope you're happy, but don't be happier
You didn't know how to feel. You wanted to hate Siyeon's guts. You wanted to hate them. You wanted to remove  Siyeon from the picture so you could have Taeyong to yourself again.
But you couldn't. Siyeon was so kind, beautiful, and charming. She had the aura that dragged people in, and in some way, you understood how Taeyong had gone to her as soon as the two of you had quit.
Mark, on the other hand, was venting. He wouldn't stop arguing about how horrible Taeyong was, and how you never deserved him. He only stopped fuming when he dropped  you off at your apartment door and made you promise that you would be okay. After that, he left, and you turned back to your home.
"Hey."
You screamed as you threw your bag at whoever was standing in the dark. There was a scuffle, the sound of the bag hitting the person squarely in the chest, and glass shattering as things were knocked over.
"No, stop! It's me --ow-- it's me, y/n! Taeyong! Lee Taeyong!" Just as you were about to throw your book at him, the lights switched on and Taeyong lay there on the floor, looking half-dead. He winced as he pulled himself up, careful not to touch any of the broken glasses.
"T-taeyong? What are you doing here?" You asked, surprised and on the verge of breaking down again.
He ruffled his hair sheepishly. "I thought I owed you an apology."
"Oh." You replied, unsure of what to say. Your heart ached and beat a thousand times faster as awkward silence filled the air.
"I-I'm sorry, y/n." Taeyong blurted out. "I never cheated on you, I promise. I would never. I did meet Siyeon when we were dating, but I didn't think much of it until our breakup; and it wasn't any flirty, romantic relationship. She just... she was just the right person for me later." He nervously tapped his foot on the floor. "I-I guess I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry. I really loved you and I hope you don't misunderstand and think I cheated on you."
Every word made your heart ache. Loved. Right person. I'm sorry.
You tried your best to put on a strong face. "It's fine, Taeyong. I know you wouldn't cheat. And besides, you have nothing to apologize for. Siyeon is a wonderful person... and I'm happy for you. Really."
Taeyong let out a relieved sigh, and you could almost see the burden of the news lifting off of his shoulders. You tried to smile, and it must've worked, because Taeyong walked over and gave you a light, awkward hug. "Thanks for being so understanding, y/n. I'm glad we got to have this talk."
"Yeah, me too," You croaked out, hoping there weren't any tears in sight. You slightly pushed him off and watched as he let out a soft, sad smile.
"Thanks again, y/n. I'll see you around." With that, he was gone.
You looked out the window and watched as he walked out of the building and into a black car. The smile on his face was not gone unnoticed, huge and beaming as he smiled at Siyeon, who was sitting in the driver's seat. You finally felt a tear dripping down your face, a hand on the window, as the two drove off together in the cold night.
I hope you're happy, but don't be happier

You sighed as you folded away the last of your clothes, staring into the empty wooden bottom of the closet drawer. You and Jaemin had build it yourselves the moment you'd decided to move in together. It was a huge step, but at the time, you couldn't have been happier.
Now, the emotions were dull and barely alive. It felt like your relationship was broken, almost suffocating. You didn't know when it began to fall apart. All you knew was that one day, the spark was just lost. Maybe it was when he decided to start going out more often and hitting on other girls. Maybe it was when you had accepted a promotion, causing you to be out of the house more often. Maybe it was just because you two weren't meant for each other at all.
You'd tried numerous times to leave. But in the end, it just wasn't possible.
The familiar sound of distant footsteps and jangling keys grew closer to  your apartment door. Closing your eyes softly, you felt tired of the upcoming argument already. Jaemin was stubborn and would never agree to simply let you go, but it was the only option left. You bent down, heart heavy, and zipped up the suitcase.
"Y/n, I'm home!" Jaemin's sweet voice filled your ears, sing-songy and happy. Was he truly happy, though? You shook your head out of your thoughts just as the bedroom door opened and Jaemin walked in with a marvelous smile. His eyes first went to you, looking distraught, and then down at the bags and the messy floor. His smile dropped.
"W-What are you doing, baby?" He hurriedly walked into the room, eyes already glossy. He looked down at the suitcase. "Y/n?"
"I'm leaving." You whispered, voice hoarse.
Jaemin shook his head, tears dripping down his cheeks. "No, no you're not." He muttered to himself, and quickly took the suitcase and shoved it into the corner of the closet. He scooped up all the remaining clothes off the floor and threw them on the bed, then shut the door immediately, as though you were going to bolt off into the distance while he was distracted.
You let out a burdened sigh. "Jaemin, we can't do this anymore. I'm tired of all of it." You said, rubbing your eyes.
Jaemin shook his head even more furiously, only keeping his teary eyes on you. He walked to the door and stood in front of it, arms spread out. "You can't leave. No. We're meant to be with each other, remember?"
You started to silently cry, remembering all the broken promises he'd made. How he would stay by your side forever, take your hand in marriage someday. How beautiful your family would look, how people would stare at you two enviously. You were tempted to run into his arms and just stay there forever, but those thoughts died when reality hit you again.
How you two had stayed up late at night on each side of the bed, facing the other direction and feeling uneasy. Knowing that he was texting another chick as he smiled to himself giddily in the living room, or how he made up quick excuses about hanging out with the boys to walk out. Arguing for hours when you two were together, not knowing the last time you'd peacefully and lovingly gone out on a date with him. You'd had your fair shares of beautiful memories, yes, but it was simply time to move on.
Jaemin, on the other hand, couldn't seem to understand. He desperately took your hands, looking into your hollow eyes. "Y/n, remember that time when we first met? You looked so pretty in your white shirt and jeans, but I accidentally spilled coffee all over you. And we met again later at the hospital, and I had no idea you worked there. We began to hang out more, and a few days after your college graduation, I asked you to be my girlfriend under our oak tree in the park."
That oak tree had died a week ago, too old and beaten down to hold on any longer. Just like your love.
Jaemin didn't let go of your hands. "Remember when we went on our first official date? The carnival. You said you wanted your first date to be special, not some boring movie dinner date thing. And afterwards, you said it was the best thing you'd ever been to. I had sugar all over my face and you even convinced me to buy you strawberry cake." You couldn't meet his eyes.
"Y-Y/n, remember when you met my parents for the first time? They loved you--they still do. They were impressed that you were all alone by yourself with barely any family, yet struggling and making a living off of working numerous jobs a-and doing well as a medical trainee. They were so supportive and so happy when you made it through."
You slowly looked into his eyes, about to start breaking down. Jaemin, shook his head, pleading. "Y/n, remember how much I love you? I'll stay by your side forever. I promise. I'll do whatever you ask of me. Please. I need you."
But Jaemin just stared into your eyes, heart sinking as he saw how bleakly they stared back into his. Hollow, emotionless, faded and worn out. You were gone. You'd given up on him.
Jaemin collapsed to the ground, shaking with quiet sobs. He knew. He knew that he'd messed up and it was time for him to let go.
The only thing he heard was the soft cry you let out before covering your mouth, then the heavy footsteps walking out the door, followed by the sad rolling of suitcase wheels.
You were gone.

It had happened again. You groaned, looking up at the bright light that luminated your face, shielding your face with one hand.
"Mrs. Kim? Are you awake now?" You looked over to see a man in a lab coat, shining a flashlight in your face while anxiously looking at you.
"Dr. Heo," you sighed, rubbing your temples as you sat up. "What happened?"
Dr. Heo was your doctor at a local hospital. As you got injured quite frequently, he knew you very well and was kind enough not to go spilling the tea that you were being abused by your own husband.
Kim Taehyung was the sweetest, kindest person you knew. And you loved him with your whole heart. He wasn't a bad person; he was kind. He donated to charity, loved to play with kids, and healed people just by being near them. Everyone loved him. But nobody knew the dark side of your married life.
Taehyung had anger issues. It wasn't his fault. It wasn't anyone's fault. He was just born with a mental disorder that caused him to completely go out of his senses when he got angry. As much as he wanted to fix it, it was near impossible. He'd tried therapy, social distancing, and calming methods, but there were always times when he couldn't control himself. You wanted to help him, but being the person there for him sometimes meant that you were the victim.
The first time Taehyung had ever hurt you was when he slipped and fell down the stairs. He had an important award show that week, and he'd been practicing so hard for it. He was so excited that he'd rattled on and on about how amazing the performance was going to be. He bruised a spot near his tailbone, but at the time, all you could think about was how funny it was when he was grabbing his butt after bouncing down each step. It didn't ever occur to you that he could be in pain, so much pain that he had trouble performing. But that was the first thing he thought of.
"Why are you laughing?" He yelled at you, and it really startled you. He wasn't the type to ever yell. He stood up, limping, a murderous look in his eyes. "I have the most important performance to perform in three days, y/n. Three days! I've just told you how important that show is, but here you are laughing your a** off when I might destroy the entire show!" He screamed at you, and threw a vase at the floor. It shattered everywhere.
"Tae, stop," you muttered quietly, backing away from him. You were scared. So scared. As a child, you'd witnessed abuse between your mother and your father, so this wasn't something new to you. However, it was the first time YOU were being abused, and this wasn't something that you'd experienced.
"Stop? STOP? How am I supposed to stop myself from ruining the performance we've worked months on! Do you see me, y/n? This body is made to entertain people. I can't do that if I'm broken!" He roared, and shoved you to the ground. You let out a scream as your hands pierced the glass that had broken behind you, and watched, horrified, as blood oozed between your fingers.
"No... y/n." Taehyung rushed over to you, but you held up a hand. He stopped right where he was and watched as you began to sob, putting your head in your hands.
"You pushed me. You pushed me." You said, crying. All he could do was sit there blankly, trying his best not to cry with you.
The second time was much worse than the first. Taehyung had gotten mad at you for saving your ex's number on the back of your phone. It had been over a year, really, since you'd met your ex, and you'd honestly forgotten it was even there. But the consequences were extreme. He left the house immediately, a storm thundering down the apartment stairs. Hastily, you'd gone after him to apologize and explain what had really happened, but all he could see was anger. Without even thinking, he shoved you down the stairs. You had to get nine stitches in order to close up the wound on your forehead.
The worst part? It was always when Taehyung came up to you, crying, after the fight. He'd apologize over and over again and said that it was his mistake. He'd do such good things that it made it impossible to imagine how such a kind person could be such a monster.
This time was probably the worst accident that could've happened. You were four weeks pregnant, and he knew it. He'd been extra careful around you and had even decided to move out of the apartment so that he wouldn't hurt you. However, one late night, there was a knock on the door. You opened it to see a drunk Taehyung standing there, furious.
"How could you do this?" He sighed angrily. "How could you spend almost a thousand dollars on clothing? And with my bank account too? You have your own money that you earned. I have mine. Why can't you see? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SUCH A GOLD DIGGER?" He screamed the last part and punched you in the face. You curled up defensively on the floor immediately, muffling whimpers as he kicked you across your back and legs. Fortunately, you were able to protect your stomach, but you were at risk even as he left. You felt so much blood pouring out of you. You quickly dialed the hospital and they came just in time, leading you to be here.
Dr. Heo sighed and sat down across from you. "We were able to save the baby. It was at risk of dying, but your stomach seemed unscathed, so there wasn't a mark that could lead to further issues." He raised his eyebrows. "However, this isn't just the baby we're talking about. It's you. This is your body. You are the mother, and you must provide a safe environment for your child to live in. As of now, even though the baby isn't born yet, it's not in a safe place and it's life cannot be guaranteed. Neither can yours. Your body is the baby's home. And after the baby starts it's life, can you promise it a home filled with love and care? No. You can't. I suggest that your husband move out so that you can live in peace."
You looked at your feet silently as he talked. "Taehyung did move out. And I learned my lesson. I'm not going to open the door randomly for him. We've already talked about this."
Dr. Heo shook his head. "No, I mean permanently. Somewhere away, so that you won't be hurt. Forever."
You shook your head, crying. Of course, you'd thought about this a hundred times. You knew it was selfish of you to want to stay with Taehyung though it couldn't guarantee the baby's safety. But you didn't want to leave him. You loved him.
Dr. Heo sighed again. "Y/n, I've met Taehyung before. He cares about you so much and I can tell that you love him too. However, just because he's a good person doesn't mean he can't do bad things. If he really loves you enough, he will never allow you to stay with him, no matter how much you want to be with each other."
He left, letting you stay there in the hospital bed, crying and considering what might be the best future for you and your family.
Time Skip: Back from the Hospital
You'd called Taehyung a few hours ago, and he was coming to your apartment after work. You'd already made up your mind and knew what to tell him. In a way, you knew that Taehyung knew too. It was time to say goodbye.
A knock at your door startled you, and you hurriedly limped forward to open the door for him.
"y/n..." Taehyung whispered tearfully as he saw your bruised body. He faltered, opening his arms for you, but pushed them away so that you wouldn't be hurt.
You smiled sadly. "We both know what's coming, Taehyung." You said quietly. He knew what you were talking about, but immediately shook his head no.
"I can't, y/n. I promise I'll be the better guy. I won't-"
"Won't what? Hurt me?" You asked in a quivering voice. "How do you know that?"
Taehyung shook his body as he sobbed silently. You held back tears. "Taehyung, imagine this. Imagine this baby, your child, comes up to you one day. Sixteen years later, twenty years later, who knows? Imagine she says, 'Daddy, I didn't mean to laugh at my boyfriend, but I did. He was hurt, and I realized I was wrong, but he got angry and shoved me into glass. But he says he won't do it again. I can still be with him, right?'"
"Stop," Taehyung cried out.
You started to cry out loud. "Imagine your daughter comes home another day and tells you, 'Daddy, I tried to explain to my boyfriend that I wasn't cheating on him, but he accused me and pushed me down the stairs. I got nine stitches, but he promises he'll keep me safe. I can still stay with him, right?'"
Taehyung fell to his knees, tears streaming down both of your faces.
"Imagine this," you whispered quietly after a while. "Imagine your daughter saying, 'Daddy, I begged my husband not to hurt me and my baby, but he did. My baby and I almost died because of him. But he promises to be the better man and won't do it again. I can still stay with him, right?'" You and Taehyung sat there silently, crying, until finally, you spoke up. "Imagine that. Imagine everything I just told you as though it were happening right now. What would be your answer?"
Taehyung shook his head, sniffling, and lifted his face to show red, puffy eyes. "I would beg her." He said quietly. "I would beg her to leave him, even if he loves her and she loves him. Because I know that even though she thinks it's good for her, he's got anger issues. And that can't be fixed."

Recommended Korean Snacks
please don’t copy or rewrite/post as your own. if you’d like to take this idea and use it, that’s fine, but I’d ask that you don’t make the scenario exactly the same and use a different layout. enjoy!
genre: au

Hi guys! On one of my previous posts I mentioned a few Korean snacks I would recommend and idk why but I suddenly had the idea to recommend more. These are some of my favorites and they have a variety of sweets and sours and different tastes.
Banana Kick:
https://www.amazon.com/Nongshim-Banana-Kick-1-58-Pack/dp/B01DFU2URM
- Is actually on the sweeter side
- Texture reminds me of cheetos but lighter
- It's crispy and does have a banana flavor but it's not overwhelming
- Definitely recommend to anyone who likes bananas
- Overall I would rate this a 7.5/10
Choco Boy (linked in previous)
https://www.amazon.com/Chocolate-Biscuit-Mushroom-Korean-Chocosongii/dp/B08185NJR6/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=choco+boy&qid=1628187938&s=grocery&sr=1-1
- Is also on the sweeter side
- Has a biscuit for the stem part of the mushroom and milk chocolate for the top
- Texture is sweet but because of the biscuit, it's crunchy
- One of my absolute favorites
- 10/10
Chicken Pop (linked in previous):
https://www.amazon.com/Chicken-Snack-Seasoned-Fried-Flavour/dp/B07WDKQJRQ
- This is probably my favorite out of every single snack
- More savory than sweet
- Very crispy and has the same flavor as Korean Fried Chicken
- In my opinion, it's super underrated internationally
- Kind of in the shape of popcorn, so you can take handfuls
- 10/10
Kancho
https://www.amazon.com/Lotte-Kancho-Choco-Biscuit-1-83-oz/dp/B06XXT1Q44/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=kancho&qid=1628188230&s=grocery&sr=1-2
- Is more on the sweeter side as well
- It's like Hello Panda (if you've ever had that)
- It's basically a small round biscuit that's filled with chocolate
- I love the tiny details on the top of the biscuit
- Overall, 7/10, probably because I prefer savory over sweet
Pepero
https://www.amazon.com/LOTTE-Pepero-Chocolate-Stick-Flavors/dp/B08XQ83PV7/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=pepero&qid=1628188412&sr=8-1
- It's like Pocky
- Basically a thin biscuit-like cookie texture stick that's dipped in a thin layer of chocolate
- There's so many different flavors, but my personal favorite is chocolate almond, matcha, cookies and cream, and strawberry
- It's a really delicious desert or snack to have
- Definitely on the sweet side but not overly sweet. Not that many Korean snacks are overly sweet, because we tend to not eat foods that taste extremely sweet
- Overall, 8/10
Choco Pie
https://www.amazon.com/Orion-Choco-Pie-12packs/dp/B00325L5WM/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=choco+pie&qid=1628188635&sr=8-2
- I personally don't enjoy this as much anymore but that's because I don't eat marshmallows.
- When I was little, it was one of my favorites
- It's a soft bread-like texture that has marshmallow sandwiched between, and then it's all dipped in chocolate.
- The chocolate doesn't melt as easily as other chocolates, I've found, but only if you've kept it in a slightly colder room temperature before eating.
- A little sweeter than most Korean snacks, but delicious
- If I was little, I would give this a 8/10
If you'd like to buy any of these snacks, I would definitely say that actually going to an Asian or Korean food market in person is better than ordering online from some shop such as Amazon. When I looked up the snacks on these online shops, they were really expensive (ranging from $5-$13) when you could simply get it for $1-$3 at a Korean food market depending on the snack. Every item I showed above is really popular in Korea and I've seen every single one of those items at an Asian mart except for Chicken Pop. Thanks!

You excitedly waited on the couch, awaiting your boyfriend, Kim Namjoon's arrival. He usually came late, almost around midnight. He worked hard as an idol and you understood. Today, though, you anxiously waited for him to come home. You had big news to tell him and you couldn't seem to wait.
You occupied yourself by sitting on the couch in the living room, watching some of your favorite movies and helping yourself to a few of your favorite snacks and drinks. As you munched on a few chicken pops and choco mushrooms biscuits, (if you haven't tried, it's a must!!! link as an au) you suddenly heard the familiar beeping of someone putting in the passcode to your front door. Excitedly, you turned off the television and brushed away a few crumbs before going to greet Namjoon at the door.
"Joon!" You smiled, and walked over to hug him. He returned your hug gently, and a soft, sad smile crept up his face.
"How was your day?" He asked you casually. You started to walk over to the kitchen to tell him you had a surprise.
"Amazing." You said, smiling knowlingly. "What about you?"
You turned, but Namjoon was still in the same spot. He hadn't even taken his coat off. "What are you doing? Come and eat. I'm sure you're hungry." You said.
Namjoon nodded quickly. "It's fine. I'm not hungry. And my day was... complicated. I'll tell you about it."
You led him to the kitchen where you poured yourself a cup of hot tea and sat down at the table opposite of him. "So? What was so complicated?"
Namjoon fiddled with the tablecloth. "Just a lot of thinking. So much thinking that I even had to ask Jin hyung about my problems."
You frowned and sipped your tea. "Problems? What kind of problems?" You felt bad; you'd been so caught up in your own life that you hadn't even known Namjoon was worrying about something.
Namjoon sighed and scratched the back of his head, staring at your hands. "I-I don't really know if I can say it, y/n."
You heart pounded slightly faster. "Come on, Joonie. I've known you for so long and we've been together for four years. Of course you can tell me." It hurt that he felt like he couldn't trust you.
Namjoon looked into your eyes and immediately started sobbing. Panicked and alarmed, you stood up instantly and walked over to him, hugging him and rubbing his back. Your mother used to do that to you when you were little, and it was always make you feel better.
"Joon, what's wrong?" You asked, saddened at the fact that he had so much going on.
"I-I don't deserve you, y/n." He sobbed quietly into his hands.
"Why? What is it?" You asked, growing more alarmed by the second. "I won't be mad, promise. Just tell me."
After he had calmed down, he slowly stared at the other end of the table again, not meeting your eyes. "I don't know how to say this, y/n. Recently, I've been feeling strange. I can't seem to feel happy around you, want to go home to be with you. I thought maybe this was a phase. But I talked to Jin hyung today, and... he reckons I fell out of love with you."
Your entire world spun down on you. "F-fell out of l-love with me?" You asked softly.
He began to cry again. "I'm so sorry y/n. I didn't mean for it to happen and I don't know what made me feel this way. But I can't control my feelings. I just feel so bad to do this to someone who hopes to brighten my day, waits for me to come home at night, is so loyal and stays by my side whenever I need her to."
You held a hand over your mouth to prevent yourself from crying out loud. How had this happened? You'd always thought that your relationship was strong, perfect, and even believed that you would get married someday. That you would start a family together and raise the most beautiful children, loved by both their parents. But what he was saying broke you, and the dreams you'd always thought of shattered.
Eventually Namjoon looked up and roughly hugged you, standing up straight and enveloping his entire body around you. "It's going to be okay, y/n. Just because I fell out of love doesn't mean that this can't work. I'll take a break from work and we'll go somewhere, just the two of us. It'll be time to try and rekindle our relationship. This doesn't mean the end, and I'm sure that-"
"No." You spoke up hoarsely. Namjoon stopped moving and slowly removed himself from you.
"No?" He asked, looking at your face. You were trying to keep the tears to yourself as best as you could, but it wasn't working well. "What do you mean 'no', y/n?" When you didn't reply, he raised a hand to his temple and breathed deeply. "Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t. I knew I shouldn't have told you. It would've been okay if I hadn't."
You shook your head. "No. You did the right thing, Namjoon. I'm glad you told me.  I'm proud of you for telling me. It means so much that you decided to voice your opinion today instead of living on and pretending to love me. I'd much rather know that you fell out of love than cheated on me."
Namjoon shook his head silently and wrapped his arms around you. "We can work this out, baby. I promise."
But you let another tear fall from your eyes and quietly mumbled, "No."
You didn't want a relationship where Namjoon only pretended to love you or tried to love you more. You believed that love wasn't something that could be forced. It couldn't be intentional or made up. True love could only happen in a natural way in which one person suddenly or slowly realized their feelings for another. But this love was broken. It was like two pieces of paper, torn in half. You could always tape it or glue it back together, but there wasn't a way you could mend it without a scar. It would never be the same.
The next morning, Namjoon packed his bags and hugged you goodbye one last time. You watched, holding back a flood of tears, as he smiled at you one last time and shut the door behind him. You finally let the tears flow, and held a hand to your stomach.
"It's okay, baby." You said, smiling sadly.
You just couldn't tell him.

~ J I N ~
- He would probably be having a very bad day and give short, abrupt answers, which caused you to be concerned for him when he got home
- However, he wouldn't tell you what was wrong, which was probably why you would start arguing
- Suddenly, he had enough. He felt like he couldn't get words out of his chest because you wouldn't let him talk, and he wanted to make himself feel like his words mattered, so he tried to gain your attention in the worst possible way.
- After you both heard the slap, you looked at each other, shocked.
- Jin would look at his own hand, shaking, as if he couldn't believe he'd done this. You immediately started to sob quietly even though you knew he hadn't really meant to do this.
- "Y/n... I-I..."
~ N A M J O O N ~
- Namjoon normally really liked tutoring you, but these past few weeks, your focus had been going off and on, and today was one of those days where it was off.
- "So basically, this square root with this..." he looked over only to see you staring out the window. "Y/n!" He yelled, ticked off. It was the tenth time this hour.
- Though you apologized, he wasn't satisfied. He had so much work to do and he felt like you weren't helping at all. He started lecturing you on how you needed to focus more, but unbeknownst to him and you, he threw the books off the desk and didn't notice when they landed on your foot.
- You let out a whimper when you felt a heavy crack echoing in the air, and Namjoon immediately turned and widened his eyes.
- "Oh my god, I'm so sorry... It's all my fault."
~ Y O O N G I ~
- The other members had been progressing quickly in their new dance, but Yoongi felt that he alone was struggling and was far behind. He felt really mad even when he went home and couldn't get it out of his head that he wasn't a good dancer. Their promotions had been pushed because of him, and he felt guilt-trapped.
- You tried to comfort him and said, "It can't be that hard. I'm sure you're just having a rough day. It'll all be better tomorrow."
- However, your words only discouraged him more and he got angry. "What do you mean I'm 'having a rough day'? Don't you understand how stupid I look when I'm messing up on the easiest choreography?"
- As he talked, he took your body and moved it around harshly, making painful jerks as he tried to recreate the choreography with you.
- When he heard you cry out in pain when he jerked your arm to far, he immediately stopped and let you go. The choreography was all he could remember at the moment, and he hadn't even noticed what he'd been doing.
- "No, wait. Y/n, I'm so sorry. I just-"
~ H O S E O K ~
- The two of you had been practicing dance together, but he was pissed off that you weren't quite putting all your effort into it.
- "For the fifth time, y/n! Move your head up! Up! No, not like that!"
- He'd finally had enough and grabbed the sides of your head with his hands and jerked it up. You cried out when he pulled a muscle, and he dropped his hands almost instantly.
- Your neck was screaming in pain and you couldn't seem to move your head around well anymore. Hoseok immediately started crying with you, scared that he'd permanently injured you.
- "Please, please be okay. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Please."
~ J I M I N ~
- He came home happily, only to find out that you were out of the house, shopping with your guy best friend.
- He was extremely pissed off, being the jealous type. He got angry that you were out with a guy alone in the night, away from him. You were equally pissed, because you knew that you would never cheat on Jimin.
- Both your arguments were childish and endless, but you both refused to apologize.
- When you made a better point than him, it was the last straw. He shoved you into the wall and kicked you, but halted his actions after seeing you lying on the ground helplessly. Blood was dripping from your nose and your wrist was bent at an odd angle.
- "What's wrong with me? How could I do this to you?"
~ T A E H Y U N G ~
- You had forgotten to feed Yeontan today as you were busy with work and stressed over tomorrow's meeting at the company.
- When Taehyung came home, he noticed that Yeontan seemed drained and sick, and realized that you hadn't fed him.
- "I asked you to do one thing, and you couldn't even do that." He was annoyed and wasn't aware of your current status. You didn't even have the strength to argue, but he was just too pissed. He pinned you to the wall and held your throat tightly.
- "How does this feel, huh? How does it feel to have your throat blocked and nothing to help you soothe it?"
- When you gagged, he shakily released you, looking horrified at himself. You collapsed over him, exhausted.
- "Wait... y/n please forgive me... what I did was unforgivable, but I promise I won't do it again."
~ J U N G K O O K ~
- He'd just lost another battle against Taehyung on his video games because you'd interrupted him, in need of attention.
- The bet had been five hundred bucks, which was the most they'd ever betted on a game. He was super ticked, knowing he could've easily won if not for you.
- Out of anger, he threw the controller in your direction, not knowing that it would actually hit you. He'd expected you to move out of the way, but you hadn't seen it coming in time.
- It hit your stomach and you fell on the floor. A sharp corner had pierced through your skin and it was close to bleeding.
- He rushed over to you and gathered you in his arms.
- "No... what have I done..."

~ S O O B I N ~
- Would be extremely hurt, even though he knows that it's better off this way
- Would probably agree after some hesitation, but it wouldn't feel right for him when he saw you nodding, wiping your tears away, and going off to pack your bags.
- Even as he watches you leave, he would want to grab your hand and hug you, pretending that this was all a dream and it wasn't reality.
-But he's not able to stop you and can only watch as you give him a small smile and leave.
-After that, he would probably collapse on the floor and start sobbing, not knowing what to do. He would cry himself to sleep on the couch and wake up the next morning, wondering where you were before realizing what happened.
- He would be like this for days, not exactly expressing his sadness but standing there emotionless all the time.
- "I wish I could've done better for you, and I wish that you were still here by my side. But I hope you're happy and have no regrets with this relationship."
~ Y E O N J U N ~
- He's just unable to understand what you say. After you announce that you think a breakup is best for you two, he would be shocked and just sit still for a while.
-When it all finally gets to him, he's immediately crying, but he doesn't exactly disagree. He would want what you want.
- He loves you so much even through a bad relationship. He loves you so much that he's willing to let you go.
- After you leave, full-on sobs would wreck him and he would just spend hours crying and calling your name. He would be that guy who goes into your bedroom and stares at your picture until he falls asleep.
- Would probably do similar things every day, such as go into the kitchen and make your favorite food, or watch your favorite movie, or do your favorite things.
- "You don't know how much I've been craving your smile, your scent, your existence."
~ B E O M G Y U ~
-Would be the type to immediately disagree
- Even when he knows a breakup is best, he just can't cope with the fact that he won't be your lover anymore.
- Even though he's heartbroken by the fact that you're breaking up, he won't shed a tear until you're gone.
- His final answer even when you leave is that you can work your relationship out, but you both know that it doesn't work that way.
- When he sees you leave, he'll finally start to cry. Huge sobs, heavy breathing, but quiet, stiffled noises.
- He won't be the same for quite a while, and even when he sees your picture, he'll slowly start to crumble down
- "Nothing's the same without you anymore. I'm sorry I didn't treasure you enough while you were with me."
~ T A E H Y U N ~
- He wouldn't be the type to break down immediately when you say you want to break up.
- Instead, he would ask you what went wrong. Honestly, he would've been thinking that everything was going right and the relationship was stable. He would be confused as to why you wanted a break up.
- When you explained that you wanted some time for yourself, he would nod and respect your decision but wouldn't be completely satisfied with your answer.
- He would constantly be thinking what he did wrong after you left. He would even go so far as to look back at your old videos that you taped together or your old photos and question what he did wrong that made you leave while he cried.
- He would probably become very insecure of his abilities to socialize with others and the question of why you left wouldn't leave his mind.
- "Can you tell me what I did wrong? I promise I'll fix it and become a better man."
~ H U E N I N G   K A I ~
- He would openly express how sad he was.
- He would start to cry when you asked him for a break up to focus more on yourself. The two of you would end up crying together before you left.
- He would be the type to hold onto you until the last minute possible where you had to let go.
- After that though, he wouldn't go back and guilt over everything that could've gone better. Instead, Huening Kai would replay the best moments of your relationship that he truly cherished.
- He wouldn't exactly try to move on, but he isn't the type to cling over you even after you leave. He's content with all that happened and, though he may become teary at some time, he's not going to bawl over you every night and wish for you to come back.
- "Thank you for years of amazing memories and moments filled with love. I wish you all the best."
