Usopp, you’ve been a brave warrior of the sea from me since the moment you decided to join the crew of a captain that does not take no as an answer, will risk your life on daily basis, will pick up fights with emperors of the sea and will stare down at your soul for no reason. Luffy, a pirate who cannot lie and a man literally made of rubber who mentions becoming king of the pirates at every chance he gets, whose only companions at that time were a green man and a thief. And Usopp boarded that ship.

go fish!
Tumblr media
so i fell in love with Sanji just like everyone else. i've never seen the one piece anime or read the manga so i'm solely going off of the live action. i had fun writing this and plan to make this a series of some sorts where it's a fem!reader x Sanji moments of awkwardness, fluff, and mutual pining because i love reading that stuff myself. if anyone has any suggestions or requests for this series please leave a comment or send me an ask!
WARNINGS: none
word count: 1.3k
pairing: opla!sanji x reader
summary: reader and Usopp are playing a card game when Sanji finds them. teasing ensues.
prequel part 2 part 3 part 4 masterlist
“Care for a refreshment, Madam?” a smooth, deep familiar voice asked to your left, breaking your concentration on the card game in front of you.
“Hm?” you looked up from the cards in your hand and saw the Going Merry’s own chef looking down at you with a crooked, charming smile as he held a chilled glass bottle of water in his hand. “Oh, hey Sanji,” you greeted quickly with your usual smile as you looked back down at your hand. “What’d you say? Go fish Usopp.”
Your opponent across the barrel from you grumbled as he took the top card off the deck sitting between you both.
“I was just asking if the lovely madam sitting here would like a nice, cold refreshment on this particularly hot day?” Sanji asked again with a hint of amusement, his crooked smile deepening as he watched you study your hand once again.
“’Lovely madam’?” Usopp repeated sarcastically, his eyebrows pulling together. “What about offering her super buff, brave, and heroic opponent an ice-cold beverage instead?”
“Nope,” Sanji corrected, popping the 'p'. “Ladies first Usopp. Always.”
Even after knowing Sanji for a couple of months now, his consistent chivalry always managed to make your heart flutter.
You laughed lightly and couldn’t help but smirk as you said with a matter-of-fact, teasing tone, “Just say you wish you were a girl, Usopp. No judgment here.” You paused for a moment before asking, “You got the five of spades?”
“Now even though I would make an extremely attractive, gorgeous woman, I am a man through and through.” A grin broke out on Usopp’s face as he glanced at his hand and triumphantly called out, “Go fish, y/n.”
“Fair enough,” you hummed as you reached for a card. “And yes Sanji, I would love a glass of cold water. Thank you.” You shot a quick look of gratitude the chef’s way as you took a card from the deck.
Sanji placed the two glasses onto your makeshift barrell-table top he was holding in his left hand and started filling up the glasses with water. “Of course. Anything for the missus.”
Missus. Ugh. It made your heart skip a beat to hear him call you that. But you knew he didn’t really mean anything by it. It was just how Sanji spoke, forever the gentleman.
“Oof. If you keep sweet talking like that Sanji, you’re going to even make me blush, just like y/n,” Usopp joked.
Your eyes widened as your eyes snapped to look at your dumbass crewmate and friend sitting across from you. “I- I am not blushing Usopp!” God, if you both were using a real table instead of a barrel right now you would’ve broken his shine with your foot. You really weren’t blushing before but Usopp’s stupid comment definitely made your cheeks heat up now. “It’s the heat,” you hissed.
“’Heat’,” he mocked with air quotes and snorted. “Right.”
“I-” before you could defend yourself, Sanji spoke up.
“Actually,” the blonde chef chimed in with a light laugh as he filled the second glass, “that’s why I came over in the first place. You were looking a little flushed y/n, so I thought you guys could use a cold drink.”
Sanji’s words caused both you and Usopp to look up from your cards simultaneously, making eye contact with each other. A mischievous grin started to form on Usopp’s face as he saw the blush deepen on your face. You quickly looked back to your hand, suddenly finding the eight of clovers card extremely interesting.
Sanji saw you looking flushed? He saw you? From across the deck? From inside the kitchen’s window? He was watching you play cards? The thought of Sanji watching you when you didn’t expect him to made your stomach erupt in butterflies, and it certainly didn’t make your stupid little crush on him go away. Just the opposite. In fact, it just fueled your delusional fantasy even more.
And it certainly didn’t help that the only person who knew about your crush on the head chef just so happened to have a big mouth and loved to tease you about it any chance he got. And that he was sitting right across from you right now, watching all of this unfold right in front of him.
“Oh? So you were watching y/n and I play cards out here?” Usopp innocently asked his blonde crewmate, but you knew better. There wasn’t an ounce of true curiosity in his tone whatsoever.
“Yeah, from the kitchen,” Sanji answered casually as he recapped the glass water bottle.
“Usopp,” you warned.
“And you said that she looked ‘flushed’?” Usopp asked, quirking a brow at the end of his question as he turned his gaze from you to Sanji.
Sanji blinked in confusion, his eyebrows knitting together for a second before looking down at his crewmate. “Yeah...” he said slowly before continuing, “Her cheeks looked a little pink so I figured-”
“Oh?” Usopp asked, his voice becoming louder. “You noticed the color of her cheeks, from that far away?”
“Usopp,” you hissed louder but it fell on deaf ears. Once your friend got on a roll, there was little anyone could do about it. Especially when it came to teasing you about your feelings for Sanji.
“Yeah,” Sanji replied to Usopp’s question with a confused smile. “What are you-”
“GO FISH!” you blurted out loudly, cutting Sanji off and having both men turn their eyes towards you.
“Huh?” Usopp blinked his eyes at you, suddenly remembering the game in front of him. “But I didn’t even ask you anything y/n. And you just drew a card, so it’s your turn to ask me.”
You let out a quiet sigh of relief at the fact that Usopp stopped grilling Sanji with all of those embarrassing questions right in front of you....even though you couldn’t help but perk up at the fact that Sanji in fact had been watching you from the kitchen, and that he was sweet enough to bring you (and Usopp) some water.
“Well, I tried,” you shrugged and lied, “but you just kept yapping so you didn’t hear me. Do you have the Queen of hearts?”
Usopp studied you for a brief moment before looking at his cards, smirking to himself. “You know y/n, it’s funny you asked about the Queen of hearts,” he said as he plucked the requested card from his hand and reached out to give it to you, “since you make heart eyes yourself whenever you look at-”
“GOOD game Usopp!” you practically yelled as you threw your cards down onto the barrel and stood up, hoping your outburst drowned out the name Usopp was about to so stupidly blurt out. You shook his free hand with both of yours as you said, “You totally win my friend.”
“What?” Sanji laughed slightly as he watched you and Usopp shake hands. The poor guy was as confused as ever. “But the game isn’t over.”
You looked Usopp dead in the eye as tightened your grip on his hand. “Oh no, it’s over. He definitely won.”
Yeah, he won alright. He won the game of making your life a living hell and embarrassing you in front of Sanji. He won the gold medal in that game.
“I sure did,” Usopp agreed triumphantly, putting his cards down.
You dropped his hand and took the glass of cold water that Sanji had so generously poured, the cold glass making you feel better already. “Thank you for this Sanji. I think I’ll go enjoy this on my hammock inside.”
You couldn’t bear to look at Sanji, feeling humiliated for no reason with your face on fire, you stepped away from the barrel sipping your water as you made your way across the deck towards the ship’s living quarters.
“Yeah, that’s a good idea y/n!” Usopp called, giddy from the high that could only come from successfully teasing a friend. “Maybe that’ll help calm down your flushed face!”
Before stepping inside, you flipped off a laughing Usopp, completely missing the brief look of disappointment in Sanji’s eyes as he watched you go.

Roronora Zoro was not the kind of person who would often find himself discomposed, he was undeniably brave and headstrong, sometimes to a fault.
He was practically a one-man army, him being a ruthless pirate hunter turned pirate meant he had seen countless battles, faced many challenges.
So far, only two things could really cause that stoic image to falter, losing a fight, and you.
From the very first day that Monkey D. Luffy dragged you aboard the Going Merry, Zoro had taken notice of you. His sharp eyes followed you closely, taking in the curve of your pretty lips and the flutter of your lashes. It started as a simple interest, a curiosity for the newest crewmate, that was all.
At least, that is what the renowned swordsman told himself.
For the first few months of you being aboard, Zoro had believed he had been successful at ignoring the blossom of warmth he had started to feel towards his new crewmate. He had convinced himself it was truly nothing more than a friendly interest.
That was all, just a friendly and completely platonic interest in you.
You, who had a habit of wearing short dresses when it was a particularly hot day, skirts edge swaying at your thighs as you moved around the ship.
You, whose warmth and kindness made Zoro’s skin crawl and his chest ache in an uncomfortable and unfamiliar way.
You, whose sweet and musical laugh would play on repeat in Zoro’s mind like a siren’s song, no matter how hard he tried to stop it.
You, who would spend entirely too much time with that damn cook.
Not that Zoro cared, of course he didn’t care.
He cared, he cared a lot.
Tumblr media
It was dinnertime, the sun setting over the shore while everyone was settling into their normal routines as the salty breeze blew along the deck. The entire crew sat around the dining table eating and conversing as they did nearly every evening. Nami, Sanji and Chopper sat next to you on one side of the table while Luffy, Usopp and Zoro sat on the other.
Luffy was talking to Usopp who sat at the other end of the dinning table, his voice loud as he shoved an absorbent amount of food into his face, his face pushed out like a chipmunk  with chubby cheeks full of acorns.
“L-Luffy! Be careful, you’re gonna choke!” You stammered, watching with wide eyes and a pale face.
“Ah, I wouldn’t worry so much about him. I’ve seen Luffy eat 12 whole roasted chickens in a row before.” Nami said with a sigh as she patted you on the shoulder.
“What about the bones?” You asked
“Oh yeah, he ate those too. I’m not even sure he noticed he did it.” Nami said.
“I rike food, is that suwch a crime?!” Luffy asked with a huff as his teeth tore into the juicy meat of a chicken leg, the grease coating his face and the food muffling his complaints.
That sent everyone at the table into a fit of laughter, except for Zoro, who was sitting directly across from you at the table and was entirely too distracted staring directly at you to even notice the rest of the crew,
He had an almost unreadable expression on his face, his jaw tight. His body was tense, heart beating rapidly in his chest, like the echoing beat of a drum. Zoro’s eyes never left you, they followed the way your chin lifted into the air and your head tilted back as you laughed with your whole body.
He could see the small tears that formed at the corner of your glossy eyes as you laughed so hard it seemed to hurt, curled lashes fluttering as your hand reached up to brush the tears away.
Although he wouldn’t admit it to anyone, even himself,  Roronora Zoro started to live and breathe for those bite-sized moments of your life. He wanted to see everything, experience all of you in every way possible.
Eventually, it got to the point where every thought that ran through Zoro’s brain would somehow descend to thoughts of you, your smile, your laugh, and those fucking eyes that were starting to ruin him.
Tumblr media
As was normal aboard the Going Merry, Zoro was working out on the deck, doing countless amounts of reps with an abnormally huge weight, his rippling muscles twitching and sweat forming on his brow as he enjoyed the breeze and the sunshine soaking into his already tanned skin. He passed the weight between each of his arms after each set of reps, making sure each of his arms was properly matched.
Zoro was training particularly hard today, his bandana tied around his head to catch the sweat from stinging his eyes. He couldn’t help it, he had been distracted for weeks, he had to try and clear his head.
He needed something, anything to take his mind off of his new crewmate, you.
No matter how hard Zoro tried to avoid you, to ignore you, or be cold towards you…you would appear, and melt away that cold exterior like the onset of spring over a fluffy snow-covered field.
Just as always, as soon as Zoro’s clouded mind started to clear, your voice and presence appeared and sent a spark down the swordsman's spine, his muscles twitching as he glanced over his shoulder to see his only real weakness, you.
“I made some lemonade, you want some?” You asked in a honeyed tone.
Zoro’s eyes immediately scanned down to take in your outfit, gritting his teeth to contain the audible groan that threatened to escape his mouth. You were wearing a rather short dress, the brightly colored skirt swaying in the breeze as you held a tray with a glass pitcher full of lemonade and a few glasses on it.
“Damn…why do you have to be so cute?”
“That damn cook didn’t touch it, right? I think he's trying to poison me.” Zoro grumbled, only half-joking.
You giggled softly, looking up at him as you quickly shook your head back and forth. You sat the tray down on a small table off to the side of the deck, bending over just a bit to pour Zoro a full glass of the lemonade.
Zoro couldn’t help it, his eyes wandered down the curve of your back to your round hips, his hand clenching around the dumbbell in his hand as he saw the skirt of your dress ride up the back of your plump thighs as you bent down.
“Nope. I made it myself, it’s definitely poison-free.” You said with a toothy grin, standing back up as you offered him the cup, the ice clinking against the sides of the frosty glass.
“Hm.” Zoro smirked. “We’ll see about that.”
You giggled softly, still holding the glass out for him to take.
Zoro didn’t even realize what he was doing, your presence alone was like a bucket of ice water that short-circuited his brain. All rationality left his mind the moment he laid his eyes on your pretty face.
For a split second, you could have sworn you caught his eyes flickering down to your thighs as the edge of your dress fluttered in the salty ocean breeze.
“That was just my imagination, right?” You thought to yourself, your heart starting to thunder in your chest like an approaching storm.
Zoro didn’t notice the weight starting to slip from his hands and without really thinking about it, he took another step forward. His sharp eyes were staring intensely into yours as his free hand reached to take the glass you had offered him, your fingers brushing against his calloused ones for just a moment before…complete chaos.
SMASHH-CRACK
It was a splintering, echoing sound, the ship trembling back and forth at the sudden impact.
Usopp was pale as he rushed over and stared down at the weight sticking half-out of the deck and tottering back and forth between you and Zoro.
Ussopp stepped around the weight with his arms flying up around him wildly as he tried to get out actual words. He was puffing out air as his face turned red.
“WHAT…THE…HELL?!” Usopp managed to stammer as he looked up at Zoro with a perplexed look on his face.
“Uhm…sorry.” Zoro mumbled in a hoarse voice, clearing his throat with a cough, though his cold, sharp eyes never left yours.
“Is that all you have to say? Now I have to fix this!” Usopp huffed, his face red in frustration as he threw his arms up one final time and he ran off to the storage room to get some tools and supplies.
Usopp ran off, his body slumped over as he mumbled curses and complaints under his breath.
As Usopp left, Zoro’s eyes wandered from the weight sticking out of the splintered wood and then back to your beautiful eyes.
He was sure he would die of embarrassment then and there, your eyes were wide and you were looking up at him with a shocked expression on your face.
He was certain you would tease him, absolutely positive you would…but instead, he saw admiration in those big, beautiful eyes. You were honestly too awestruck to even notice Usopp's ramblings or to care about the damaged deck.
“Do you lift those everyday?” You asked, taking another step closer to him.
“Oh..yeah…” Zoro answered, his mouth suddenly going dry.
“That's…incredible. What do those even weigh?!” You asked, eyes glossy.
“Um…I have no idea. I think…1000 pounds, maybe?” Zoro chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish grin creeping up on his face.
Your eyes widened as you stared up at the swordsman, his chest was wide and littered in twitching muscles and pale scars from his many adventures. He had been training for a while and his tan skin was glossy with beads of sweat that rolled down to his rippling abs. Your eyes couldn’t help but follow the beads of sweat until they rolled down to his curly green happy trail.
Yeah, after that you were completely and totally head over heels for Roronoa Zoro, not that you could ever tell him.

 Preview to part 2
“I can’t do this.” Zoro shook his head, shooting a glare at Nami.
“Yes, you can.” Usopp said with a chuckle. “She is totally into you!”
“Usopp is right, she is absolutely into you.” Nami nodded, hands on her hips.
“Why is he here, anyways?” Zoro grumbled in a whisper, pointing his thumb in Usopp’s direction with a look of disgust.
“Hey! I’m great at romance!” Usopp scoffed with a look of offense.
“This is going to go so badly.” Zoro said in a low voice, almost at a whisper as he started to rub his face with his hands, back slumped.
“All you have to do is ask her to spend the evening with you.” Nami said, one of her eyes twitching slightly.
“And if she says no?” Zoro retorted.
“She won’t! Now stop being such a coward!” Nami snapped, giving Zoro a slight shove towards the steps leading up to the main deck of the ship.
Zoro glanced over his shoulder to see Nami and Usopp each of them giving him two thumbs up before turning back towards the steps with an audible groan before he started up the stairs.
“Why did I agree to letting these idiots help?”
“I am not doing this. No way.”
Zoro’s thoughts came to a complete standstill as he made his way to the top of the stairs and to the main deck. It was like the unshakeable man had been struck by a great bolt of lighting at the very sight of you. His calloused hand was wrapped so tightly around the banister that the wood trembled under his grip, sure to shatter to splinters if the pressure kept up.
You were splayed out on the deck of the Going Merry, the afternoon sun shimmering down in bright rays of light and dancing over the surface of the freshly washed deck and your incredibly tempting skin.
Your hair was fluttering behind you as you lay in the sun and thoughtfully flipped through one of your favorite books, laying on your stomach and kicking your feet absent-mindedly. You had on one of those absolutely maddening dresses, they always had an effect on him but that dress drove Zoro’s mind to recesses of his mind he never thought existed.
He really couldn’t help it as his eyes flickered over your body, slowing as he scanned over the round curve of your ass and the plush skin of your thighs. It all was starting to make his head spin and his dick twitch uncomfortably under his clothes.
Zoro was so caught up in subconsciously memorizing the shape of your body that he didn’t even notice you had looked up at him, the book still laying open in front of you. You both just stared at each other for a moment before you eventually spoke.
“Did you need something?”

— ★ HEAR THE SEA // USOPP
Tumblr media
content: female reader, she/her pronouns, black-coded reader, angsty a lil (self deprecating usopp), fluff - just kissing lmfao
author’s note: thank you for the request @penny44224! i hope this is to your liking 🥹 i kinda incorporated some of usopp’s animanga character traits in this but this is definitely opla fic cos jacob is tew fine
word count: 820
You were at a loss for words when you saw your name etched into the sand.
Usopp was Usopp.
His words hurtling at the speed of light, mouth not keeping up his brain. Babbling excuses.
“Thank you.” You said softly as you crouched beside him. “I love it.”
“Y-you do?” He questioned, mouth falling with an incredulous stare.
“Of course I do, Usopp. You’re very sweet, and brave. And I wish you didn’t get so damn skittish around me. Acting like I’ll rip your head off.”
Usopp blinked a few times at your words.
He let out a sigh as he stood up from the sand, looking out to the sea.
“Have you ever felt it? When you like somebody so much and you just feel like you’ll drive them away.” He asked, not facing you.
You pursed your lips together. You figured it was a better idea to just let him speak without jumping down his throat.
“And all that clouds your mind is every single bad part of you.” His voice cracked.
“You haven’t even given me a chance, Usopp.” You responded in a gentle voice. “You can’t just go ahead and shut the idea of us down…when you haven’t told me how you feel.”
He turned to face you as you patted the space beside you, gesturing for him to sit.
“Cos I know the answer. So just let me know. Is it Zoro…or Sanji?”
“Neither.” You snorted. “It’s you, you fool.”
He froze for a second as if he couldn’t believe what just came out of your mouth.
“…Me?!”
“There’s only one Captain Usopp, huh?” You giggled. “There’s so many reasons to like you. And bad parts, we all have them.”
“But I’m sure even your bad parts are pretty.”
“Usopp!” You exclaimed, feeling the tips of your ears heat up.
“I’m just saying. I’m sure you could do no wrong in my eyes.” He said.
You reached out to settle your hand over his, interlacing your fingers with his as you smiled.
“I wish you saw yourself through my eyes.” You whispered. “I’m sure a day with my point of view would definitely change your mind.”
“…And how do you see me?” He responded, voice low.
“I said it before…but I think you’re brave. I think you’re sweet. And…I find you sexy which is a bonus.”
He was sure he couldn’t believe what was coming out of your mouth. His mouth felt dry, he felt the longer the silence settled over you the more you slipped out of his grasp.
But Usopp never really knew how much you knew him. You were focused on the sand between your toes as you admired the way he scrawled your name with the branch.
The gentle tidal waves swept it away, but it was nice while it lasted.
“Usopp, don’t leave me hanging..” You chimed. He found your voice so alluring, that he almost immediately crawled over to you as if it was by reflex.
“I’m not! I promise..!”
“It’s okay if you’re unsure what to say. These things are always hard.” You said in an attempt to reassure him.
“They are…?”
“Of course they are.” You scoffed. “Putting your heart on the line is one of the most terrifying things. But…I wish you wouldn’t worry so much. I like you the most.”
“You like me…?”
You nodded with an earnest smile.
“You like me..” He repeated struggling to comprehend. “God, I must’ve knocked my head on the Merry or something. This can’t be real. Wait Y/N! Pinch me, okay?!”
You sighed, then twisted his side.
“Not that hard!” He wailed as he scrambled away from you.
“Come back here.” You ordered. “Do you trust me?”
He nodded almost frantically.
“You don’t believe anything I say…so can I show you?” You said.
Usopp was sure he’d died. There was no way this was taking place.
“How…would you do that?” He stammered, feeling warmth rush through his body.
“I think you know.” You said, as your eyes were half-lidded with lust and flitted to his lips.
“God, don’t do this to me Y/N.” Usopp groaned.
“Do what…?” You feigned ignorance as you scooted closer to him.
“You know what you’re doing to me. How am I supposed to think straight?!”
“Stop your whining..” You giggled as you leaned in.
Cupping the side of his face with your hand, you crushed your lips against his. You could feel him tense slightly at first, but when his hand settled on your thigh you could feel he was getting the hang of it.
You pulled away and nudged your forehead against his, laughing breathlessly.
“Do you believe me now, Captain?”
He mustered up some courage and cleared his throat.
“I think I’m gonna need another one. You know…just for reassurance.”
“I’d be happy to.” You grinned, as you pushed him on his back to dive in for another kiss.

It's Just Business Three
YOU THOUGHT I FORGOT? NEVER!
Tumblr media
Look at that face! Look!
Fandom: One Piece (LA mainly)
Rating: Teen so far
Pairing: Sanji/Reader
Warnings: No real warnings, but god, I hope you like pining
Summary: You felt like you had known Sanji forever, considering your family had been the main merchants Zeff used to supply the Baratie. You had a small crush on him, but knew it was hopeless considering you were the one woman he didn't seem to pine over.
It was fine. Or so you thought until you ended up on the Going Merry as a bookkeeper and supply manager. Being around him 24/7 was a lot more difficult than just a few days a week.
(Please note 》°《 denotes a scene in the past while -*- will be a regular scene break. Because yeah, I like my non-linear story telling.)
Masterpost | Ao3
You weren’t unfamiliar with fighting. After all, merchant ships attracted pirates like honey attracted flies.
But damn, the fishman pirates were really of a different breed. You were on the defensive more than anything, blocking blows and only able to land a few potshots in retaliation. You could feel bruises already blooming from where you got hit, the unsettling feeling of blood trickling from various wounds.
But you didn’t give up. How could you when the others kept bravely fighting? Zoro’s blades danced in the air with unnatural graces against the other pirates, the man barely waivering despite the fact he still had his massive injuries from Mihawk. And Sanji was far more skilled than yourself considering he trained regularly with Zeff, his long legs proving to be far stronger than they looked.
Except as much as they fought against Arlong's pirates, the two men were bickering heatedly amongst themselves too - which was not helping anyone except the enemy.
“Will you two stop fighting!” You snarled as you ended up between the green-hair swordsman and the blond chef--both literally and figuratively. “Beat these assholes and then have at it for all I care, but god damn if we lose I am going to murder you both.”
Zoro shot you a dark look, as if to silently scoff at the fact you could even hope to beat him - you couldn’t, but you would try your best, god damn it - before he rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the fishmen that were regrouping.
Sanji however, frowned as he looked you over and stepped closer to wipe blood from your lip. “I told you that you should have stayed back on the ship, or even the village.”
You glared at him. “The only orders I take are the ones I get paid for,” You shot back. “Just ‘cause you’re stronger than me doesn’t make you my boss.”
His frown deepened. "That's not what I meant. I just mean you'd be safer back on the Going Merry."
"We all would, but that's not why we came, is it?" You hated the fact he had been right about Nami, but you hated Arlong and his crew more for what they did to the young woman. You had gripped Sanji’s hand tightly when you heard Nami softly ask Luffy for help, full of rage on her behalf for what the bastards had done. He had squeezed back as he took a drag of his cigarette, as if silently promising that you would get revenge on her behalf.
"I thought you said something about fighting them, not each other," Zoro yelled out, three swords holding back the pirates while you and Sanji argued.
"Mind your damn own business!" You and Sanji snarled at the green haired swordsman at the same time.
You were fairly certain you heard Zoro curse you both, swearing something about waiters and bossy women. You ignored his comment as  Sanji darted for one of the gray-skinned fishmen, and you followed suit.
-*-
It had been a knife in your heart when Sanji greeted Nami so warmly, sounding so elated to see the red-head.
Yet the fact she passed him and went for Zoro and Usopp made you cackle heartedly despite yourself, going as far as leaning on the dejected man as you tried to calm your laughter. (The mix of the battle high and relief it was over may have made you a bit unusually giggly.)
“It’s not that funny,” He grumbled, though at the same time his arm wrapped around your waist to help steady you.
“I’m sorry,” You wheezed, pressing your head against his shoulder. “You just… and she didn’t even pause. My poor boy, I don’t think she’s that into you.”
Sanji was quiet as you calmed yourself, though his arm never left your waist, or even loosened the smallest bit. “Sometimes a woman requires a bit of wooing,” He defended once your laughter died away, making you snort. “Nami’s been through a rough time, so of course she’d run to her friends.”
You tried to keep the smile on your face despite any trace of humor draining from your heart. He was in deep this time, wasn’t he?
It was probably a good thing you’d be parting ways, so you didn’t have to watch him try to woo her, as he said. Even if it meant you wouldn’t see him for who knew how long. Or the fact the idiot could die out on the open sea and you would never see him again. Never see the humor in his bright blue eyes, lips twitching in a smile. Never be able to bicker good-naturedly with him, arguing just for the sake of arguing. Or just feel at home with his casual touch--he was one of the very few who you felt safe enough to indulge in that need for physical touch.
Sanji spoke your name softly, drawing you from your thoughts. “You okay?” He asked as you looked up and was able to see worry pinching his eyebrows together.
You offered a weak smile. “Yeah, just tired all of a sudden. Adrenaline must be wearing off.”
The concerned expression didn’t leave despite the soft smile on his lips. His thumb rubbed along the curve of your wait reassuringly as he pulled you closer. "Once Luffy's finished, we'll head back and I'll make a big meal, okay? Just hang in there until then.
Oh, it wasn't the immediate future you were worried about. But you nodded your head nevertheless, and tried to enjoy what short time you had left with your friend before you parted ways.
~*~
Despite your obvious exhaustion, you assisted with preparing the celebratory meal that night, for which Sanji was thankful. You weren’t exactly one of the line cooks of the Baratie, but you knew enough that he didn’t have to worry once he explained his initial idea of a large stir-fry.
He was looking forward to more of this; the adventure, fulfilling his dream of finding the All Blue, Zeff’s dream. But also sharing it all with you. Seeing you more than just a few times a week, stealing short moments between both your duties and his.
The two of you had always been close and had shared a few small (and some not so small) adventures through the years. He couldn’t lie to himself, his feelings for you were far from platonic, but the problem was you thought you knew him too well and never believed he was being serious as he tried to flirt. No matter how close he held you, or how many times he pressed kisses to you head and hand while calling you sweetheart, you thought he was just kidding. That it was all platonic.
He wasn’t sure how you were going to react when --if-- you ever realized the truth.
》°《
Zeff frowned as he looked down at you and Sanji, both of you out of breath and covered in sweat as you sat back to back. "You two shrimps are pitiful, really."
You grumbled as you leaned against Sanji, trying to catch your breath. He had been beating your ass fairly, though at least you had given him a work out.
"We've been doing this all afternoon," Sanji shot back, still full of spit and vinegar in his small body despite everything. "Let her have a break, and I'll fight you instead."
You moved to look at him, confused. He… was defending you? After the fact you were in this position because you had been fighting in the pantry?
Zeff laughed, his arms crossed in front of his chest that was probably bigger than both you and Sanji combined. "You think you can take me, little eggplant?"
Even with one just a thin pegleg, you knew to challenge Zeff was a death wish. Your parents had told you stories of Red Leg Zeff of the Cook Pirates, likely in an attempt to make you behave when aboard the Baratie.
Yet despite knowing how harsh Zeff truly could be, Sanji only glared harder. "I'd rather take you than force her to do any more training."
Zeff smirked, though his expression softened.  "You little shit. How about you go scrounge up some lunch for you both and take a rest. And maybe next time you won't be so prone to starting fights."
The captain-chef turned and left you and Sanji alone on the deck. You groaned as you tried to flop down on the slatted wood, except Sanji wrapped an arm around your shoulders and kept you sitting up. How he still had any energy or strength was beyond you. You felt boneless. Or maybe more like all your bones had been shattered.
"You heard the old bastard," Sanji said as he pulled you up as if you were just an overly large flour bag. "Let's go get you some food."
"God, how do you have energy?" You whined as he helped you back inside.
"I train at least twice a day, more if I piss the geezer off,” was his grumbled answer.
What little energy you could spare was used to have a flash of empathy for him; you couldn't imagine having to do this twice a day. "So, you’re Mr. Fancypants in the kitchen and on the battlefield."
He shot you a smile that looked a lot like Zeff’s when he was somewhat proud of something. "Heh, guess you could say that."

"Bet you won't do it."
Usopp's head snaps up from his drink, his eyes moving to glance at Zoro.
"What are you talking about?"
"Come on man, you've been staring all night."
A small blush creeped into Usopp's cheeks at the sword masters words. Was it really that obvious? Usopp's eyes made their way back to you watching as you danced with Nami. You were smiling wide as you swayed to the music. The sight made Usopp's heart skip a beat. The sharpshooter had always had a small crush on you but he never acted on his feelings, far too scared to do something and risk your friendship. Despite his lack of action it was pretty clear he had a thing for you. Anyone who paid the smallest bit of attention could see it. You were the only one who didn’t seem to notice it.
Not that it was your fault. You weren’t used to guys beating around the bush. When someone was interested in you they made it quite clear. It annoyed you a bit but it also made things easier. You weren’t exactly great with feelings, especially not romantic ones. You’d never really felt desire for anyone, far too preoccupied with staying alive to care about something like love. Yet since you joined the strawhats you found yourself being drawn to Usopp. You liked listening to his fantastical tales, even if they weren’t true it made you feel a sense of adventure. It was why you’d joined the crew in the first place. You’d gotten sick of waiting tables as the baratie and decided to tag along with Sanji. You hadn't planned on sticking around for long but the longer you stayed with the crew the less you saw yourself leaving.
Your eyes scan the crowd around you, searching for your friends. Luffy is sitting at a table scarfing down the third plate of the evening, Sanji is off to the side of the bar flirting with some blonde he'd met, Zoro was leaning over the counter talking to the bartender, Usopp stood beside Zoro. You smiled at the boy, gesturing with your hand for him to join you. Usopp raised his glass towards you, silently telling you he couldn't join you because of the drink in his hand. Zoro noticed the exchange, reaching over and grabbing Usopp's drink from his hand before gulping it down.
"What the hell Zoro!"
"Stop making excuses and go over there.”
You watched Zoro shove Usopp in your direction. The sharpshooter stumbled forward, not having been prepared for the sudden movement. You let out a laugh, turning to tell Nami about it. Except that she was nowhere to be found. Oh well she can handle herself. Usopp shuffled his way through the crowd making his way to you. Once he was close enough you grabbed his hand and tugged him over.
"Hey."
“Hi, quite the trip you’ve had.”
“Did you see the monster I had to fight on my way over?”
You shook your head slightly giggling at the boy's exaggerations.
“You're very brave Usopp. Thanks for coming to save me.”
“You’re welcome princess.”
Your body warmed at the nickname. How could something so small get such a reaction out of you? Usopp seemed to notice the shift in the atmosphere, his hands going to rest on your arms.
“You okay?”
“Yeah i’m fine i just-”
Music started to blare, making you stop in your tracks. Your eyes widened at the familiar sound.
“Oh my god! I love this song! Dance with me Usopp.”
“Oh I'm not really the danci-woah!”
Before he could give you some lame excuse you dragged him into the center of the dance floor, a bright smile on your face. You started moving to the rhythm of the music, closing your eyes as you did. Usopp observed you in awe. The way your body swayed to the beat, face completely blissed out, made his body twitch. You looked like an angel. You snapped your eyes open feeling the weight of Usopp's gaze on you.
“This is a dance floor that means you have to, you know, dance!”
“I’m not a good dancer.”
“So what? No ones looking anyway.”
That was true. Everyone around you was far too into their own thing to care about you and Usopp but it didn’t really calm him. You were watching and that was enough to make him nervous.
“Here I'll help you out.”
You took his hands into your own, placing them on your hips. Usopp's fingers twitched around your waist, his arms stiff as he waited for your next move.
“Jes Usopp, loosen up! I won’t bite.”
Usopp gave you a sideways smile, his body relaxing a bit at your words.
“There you go. Much better.”
You started moving side to side slowly, allowing Usopp to get used to the motion before quickening your movements. He seemed to catch on pretty quickly, his body following the flow of the music in a matter of seconds.
“See you’re a natural!”
“Nah, I just have a good teacher.”
You smiled, biting the corner of your lip. Usopp's eyes dropped to your mouth for a brief second before moving to stare at the place where his hands rested on your body. You followed his gaze, staring at the muscles on his arms. The small amount of liquor in your system was making you bolder than normal. You inched yourself closer to Usopp, your hands resting on his chest. He raised his head to look at you, his lips parting slightly. The song changed suddenly, switching to a more sensual rhythm. You’d have to remember to leave the DJ a tip when you left. You turned your body around so that your back was pressed up against Usopp's chest.
“Uh, what are you doing?”
“Shh, just go with it.”
Your hips moved with the music, slow and steady, causing you to grind against the sharpshooter. You heard Usopp take a deep breath in, the grip on your waist tightening. He called out your name, making you turn your head to look at him.
“What is it?”
You knew exactly what you were doing. You'd wanted this for a while now but had never found a good time. I mean what better place to seduce someone than at a bar? Usopp lowered his mouth to your ear, his hot breath fanning over your bare skin.
“Let’s go somewhere more private.”
“Lead the way Captain Usopp.”
As soon as you arrived on the ship Usopp's hands were on you. He wrapped his arms around your waist, tugging you as close as possible before capturing your mouth in his. You’d expected Usopp to be sweet and gentle when it came to stuff like this but there was a hunger in him you hadn't seen before. It’s safe to say you enjoyed it. You wrapped your arms around his neck, using his body as leverage to lift your body up. Usopp understood what you wanted, his strong arms moving to cup your thighs so that you could wrap your legs around his waist. You groaned at the feeling of his hard on against your clothed cunt.
“Usopp…”
“Yeah princess, what do you want?”
“Too much clothing. Take it off.”
Usopp walked over to a nearby table placing you on top of it before moving back to remove his clothes. He started off with his shirt unbuttoning it to reveal the taut muscles underneath. You practically drooled at the sight. You’d become used to seeing the other boys on the crew shirtless but you often forget that beneath his clothes Usopp hid a great physic. You placed your hands between your thighs leaning forward on the table to get a better look. The position of your arms caused your breasts to be squashed together, the low cut top you were wearing doing nothing to hide them. Ussops stopped moving at the sight, the hand that had been working on his shirt stopping in mid air. You frowned at him for a moment before realizing what he was staring at. A small smirk made its way onto your face, body leaning even farther forward.
“Like what you see?”
Usopp moved forward with his hands outstretched.
“Can i?”
He looked up at you shyly.
“What do you want, baby?”
“Can I touch them?”
“Of course you can, darling.”
That was all he needed. Usopp's large hands found  their way to your breasts, cupping them gently. He gave them a squeeze making you moan out. The sound of your moans drove Usopp crazy. He repeated his actions, his dick aching against his pants as you whimpered his name. He pulled down your top in one harsh tug, lowering his head so that he could suck on your nipples. You placed your hands behind you, allowing Usopp easier access to your breasts. He pushed your body backwards forcing you to lay down on the table. Your legs widened instinctively, allowing the sharpshooter to slot himself between them with ease. He grinded against you as he sucked your nipples, his hands massaging your stomach gently.
“So pretty for me.”
“For you huh?”
“I uh- i mean not for me… i don’t own you or anything i just meant-”
“Usopp.”
“Yeah?”
“Just shut up and make me feel good.”
“Yeah okay.”
Usopp's hands moved down to your clothed cunt tugging your shorts down before throwing them over his shoulder. You started to laugh but it quickly turned into a moan when Usopp began playing with your folds. You grind your hips against his fingers reveling in the feeling of his hands on you.
“That's it-uh- good boy.”
Ussop groaned at your praise, his free hand going to tug at his crotch. You noticed his movements moving to lean on your shoulders.
“I thought I told you to take those off.”
Usopp looked down at you and then at his pants.
“How are you expecting to fuck me with your pants on.”
You grinned as you said the words, enjoying the pant you got out of the boy.
“Can you help me?”
“Of course baby.”
You moved to sit up, your hands finding Usopp's belt and beginning to relieve him of his bottoms. Usopp kept fingering you as you worked on his clothes, his face dropping to your neck so he could leave a trail of kisses down your shoulder blade. Once you managed to unbutton Usopp's pants you reached into his boxers and cupped his dick in your hand.
“Ah princess…”
“Feel good?”
“Yeah-fuck-so good.”
“Wait until you’re inside me.”
Your words seemed to make everything real. Usopp had dreamt about this moment so many times. He’d woken up in the morning, his boxers stiff with his cum and his body itching for the feeling of you. And now here he was: your hands wrapped around his dick as he got you off with his fingers. Your walls clenched around Usopp's fingers signaling to him that you were close. If that wasn’t enough your random babbling made it very clear.
“Baby… I'm close.”
“Cum for me princess. Coat me with it.”
“You talk about it lik-ugh ah-like its a…uh…gift.”
“Because it is. Anything you give me is a gift.”
The moment Usopp's words entered your ears you started cumming. Your body went limp falling onto Usopps as you soaked his finger in your juices. He held you close, helping you through your high. Once you’d recovered your motor functions you moved to tug on Ussops chin, placing a kiss on his lips before laying back down on the table.
“Your turn, pretty boy.”
You widen your legs allowing Usopp to have a clear view of you pussy. It was puffy from your last orgasm. You motioned with your index finger for Usopp to come closer and like the good boy he was he did as you asked. You watched him free his cock from its confines, gasping at the sight of it. It wasn’t an abnormal size but it was thick. Your walls fluttered at the idea of being filled again. Usopp's hands were gentle against you as he moved your legs off the table and onto his shoulders. You smiled gently at him causing him to give you his signature smirk.
“Should I put something on?”
“No it’s okay I'm on birth control. Fill me up all you like.”
You expected Usopp to ram into you. You’d been teasing him all night after all. But he didn’t. instead he sunk into you slowly, savoring the feeling of you around him.
“Shit Usopp….”
“Fuck you’re warm.”
Usopp leaned forward, tugging your body off the table so that he could wrap his arms around you. He moved slowly, softly fucking into you. It was tender and loving. His lips found your  face and he placed a kiss on your nose. You weren’t used to this. Most of your hookups had been just that. Hookups. Just meaningless sex. But this was different. This was real. You began to tear up, your eyes glossing over. The second Usopp noticed he stopped moving.
“Are you okay? Did I do something wrong?”
He began pulling out of you but you called out his name before he could.
“You didn’t do anything wrong.  I’m just not used to being treated like this. This is perfect. You’re perfect.”
Usopp cursed at your words. What kind of idiots had you been hooking up with before. What fools would get the opportunity to be with you like this and not treat you the way you deserved. He promised himself he would show you what it felt like to be loved. He placed a soft kiss on your lips, removing the sweaty hair from your forehead.
“I’m gonna go a little faster okay?”
“Okay.”
“Tell me if you want to stop.
“Usopp you don’t have to-”
“Promise me.”
You stared into his eyes, the eyes of a boy who’d been through so much pain and still found a way to be kind. A boy you were now releasing meant much more to you than you had expected.
“I promise.”
You spent the rest of the night pressed against Usopp's body, his hands working to bring you to places you’d never been before. When you woke up the next morning you found your body cuddled into Usopp's, his arms holding you close like he was scared of you drifting away in your sleep. You turned your body around nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck.
“Morning princes.”
“Morning Usopp.”
“Wanna get up?”
“No, let's just stay here a little longer.” “Whatever you want.”
If it was up to you you’d stay in Usopp's arms forever. Lucky for you he shared the sentiment.

might I request 🫣
an Usopp x ditsy y/n where the reader is.. 𝑎ℎ𝑒𝑚, busty, to say the least, and always clings to him (sort of like how Nami does), albeit unaware that the behavior seems to always fluster him
And maybe they end up paired together when everyone splits up to fight someone or whatever, and Uso pulls them aside to hide, obviously, but in a bit of tight spot?
you can edit this however you like, thank you for reading!!
A DAMSAL IN DISTRESS - USOPP
Tumblr media
usopp x ditzy,fem!reader
IN WHICH you can’t help but cling onto Usopp, he’s just so cute.
nattie speaks!: AHHHHH I’m so sorry for the wait, I felt so bad that this took way longer then expected so some parts were a bit rushed and a bit shitty🫣🫣. Also, I gave the reader this power, basically like a banshee, she screams and it’s a weapon. It’s only included in a small portion bc I wanted to stay close to what the anon requested!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
USOPP WASNT SURE IF HIS BAD habit of lying constantly was currently a blessing or a curse. You took interest in him after he’d rambled on about escaping the large beast of the sea, the Kraken. Since then you’ve been—he didn’t want to be rude and say obsessive, so..clingy. He’d somehow managed to capture you’re attention with his false stories. You nodded dumbly with big eyes as he dramatized yet another tale, waving his hands around like a maniac while you just giggled.
“Uh-huh, what after?” You leaned closer across the table curiously, your cheek falling to rest on the palm of your hand.
“Then, I took my sword and I sliced his ass from head to toe.” Usopp smirked triumphantly, sucking in a deep breath and releasing as he fell back against the chair. “And that’s the story of how I defeated the monster of the Blue Lagoon.”
“No way!” You gasped, eyes wide with such content, completely unaware of how close your tits were to spilling out of your top. Truth be told, Usopp had dragged out the story as long as possible to see the moment a nipple peaked out. He swallowed before he chuckled, eyes flickering between your bright smile and bouncing breast. “You’re so brave, Uso.” You stood from your seat, walking over to give him a peck on the cheek. “How ‘bout I go get food for my brave Captain, hmm?”
Usopp never nodded his head so quick, both out of being very hungry and because he needed a breather. You had made him so ridiculously flustered, he nearly forgotten to take in air with how close you were. The moment you footsteps faded to enter the kitchen he let out a large sigh. His senses struggling to regulate, all he could think about was you. The sticky gloss that clung to his skin, the sweet scent you left behind, the echo of your giggles in his mind.
He needed to get a grip before he literally exploded. The next few days to Arlong Park would be hell if he couldn’t learn to control himself when around you. But he just couldn’t figure out how it was possible to do that when you pranced around in such low cut shirts and tight bottoms. He didn’t have much time to think about it before you were back, holding two servings of food. You placed it on the large crate that laid between the two of you.
“What did Sanji make?” Usopp questioned, mustering up to the most normal smile he could give.
“Some sort of pasta, dunno, wasn’t really attention.” You shrugged casually, handing him a shimmering silver fork. The two of you fell into a comfortable silence, you went unaware of the stolen glances Usopp took of you. He paid far too much attention to your features, especially your most prominent one..but he wouldn’t ever admit that.
You were close to opening your mouth and breaking the silence before Zoro came up, plopping a whiny Buggy between your plates.
“Usopps turn, I’m done.” The swordsman muttered annoyingly, walking away without another word.
“Hey—what!” Usopp shouted back to Zoro, his calls being ignored as the the blue-haired clown chuckled.
“Hiya, pal, nice to see you!” The clown exclaimed with an overly happy tone. “Tell me, have, have you boned pretty babe over here or wh—“
Usopp clamped his hand over the clown mouth, embarrassingly looking over at you, your eyes held an innocent confusion as you stood. “I’ll go ahead and take these to the kitchen, be back!”
Usopp nodded with a smile, waiting for you to be out of ear shot before uncovering Buggy’s mouth. “I’ll take that as a no.”
“Shut up.” Usopp mumbled with a flushed face, hiding it by fiddling with his slingshot.
“Oh, c’mon, she’s totally into you and it super fuckin’ obvious in case you couldn’t already see.” The clown commented, “And, hey, I’m not one to give relationship in advice here but you should bone her—“
“Can you stop saying that.” The man snapped quietly as he noticed you approaching. You didn’t sit down, instead placed a soft hand on his shoulder.
“It’s getting dark, Uso, ya wanna head in?” You asked softly, eyes glowing curiously in the moonlight. You shared a space with Nami, but ever since she left you’d didn’t liked sleeping in that empty bed. Instead, you slept next to Usopp every night.
It came as a surprise at first. The midnight sky had caused a dark hue to blanket over the ship. The moon hidden behind indigo clouds, only a few strings of light guided you down to the boy’s chambers. You’d pushed Usopps door open, thankful that it didn’t creak loudly, and slowly entered. You footsteps patting against the hardwood floor, hands out in front of you to navigate the darkness until you felt a soft cushion. You peeled back the blanket and climbed in, without a care in the world except for finding some warmth.
Usopp had felt the bed shift, covers shuffling without him moving which is what caused him to fully awake. He panicked at first, not moving an inch as the person beside him got comfortable. It was until he felt you soft hands caress up his bicep, bare legs entangling with his own, then a sweet sigh that tickled his neck. After a few moments he heard nothing, just your deep breaths as he laid there, completely clueless on what to do. Should he hold you? But that would wake you again wouldn’t it? He chose to go to sleep and see what the next morning held.
And if Usopp wasn’t flustered enough already the next day he was practically dead. Your position had switched in the middle of the night, and so did his. Ass against his hips, his arm draped over your waist, and you back against his firm chest. He wasn’t sure how you two needed in this position but every morning now was like this.
Usopp determined that the best way to continue this routine was if Buggy’s head was shoved into a empty barrel and left there for the night.
“You better bone her if your leaving here—“ The clown angrily shouted before his voice was muffled by the lid sliding over the open top. Usopp let out a sigh, walking over to the sleeping quarters below deck where you’d already gone to get changed for bed.
Your head quirked up at the sound of his approaching footsteps, smiling softly at the sight of him. “We’re nearly there, Uso. It’s best that you get some sleep for the rest of the journey.”
Usopp nodded in agreement, removing his shirt like he always did before bed and climbing into the covers. You shouldn’t be so excited as you are each time you cuddle close to him. It shouldn’t be so rewarded to feel him so close to you as you drift to sleep. Usopp was suppose to be your fellow crew member and nothing more. Yet there was an undeniable feeling that made you cling to him. It made you giddy.
Unbeknownst to you, these feelings struck Usopp tenfold.
Tumblr media
“LAND HO!” USOPP EXCLAIMED, ARM raising to point to a spec of land from afar. You lifted your head, squinting to see the bundled up islands from you spot. As you got closer it looked like nothing almost, and when the boat docked it was even worse. The small village looked abandoned, old homes falling apart and grey in color. Most of the plants around were dead, drained of their natural color. One home was even raised above the grown, ripped from the floor and left to rot mid air.
This is when things started to blur together. One moment, you watch in fear, clinging onto Usopps arms. He’s a brave warrior, you thought, surely he’d protect you against the strange atmosphere that this place brought. But the next you were sprinting into the woods, just behind Usopp as a fish man with strangely large lips chased after you.
It was a fight you had no idea on how to win. They were fishman, some of the strongest beings of the world, and here you were running away from one. Even worse, the fish with the huge lips was able to spit out fire with just a sip of his hard drink. There was more than enough evidence to prove that you were screwed.
The boy in front of you turned around, quickly tugging your arm and pulling close, ducked down, rolling to hide behind a fallen tree. You fell atop of Usopp, panting heavily as fishman’s spits barley flew over your head. All went quiet, weirdly quiet but you didn’t dare even blink loudly.
“Hey.” Usopp whispered as you lifted your head from his chest. “Ya think you can scream for me, pretty girl?” You swallowed thickly, nodding, the pure terror of the approaching footsteps muting your voice. “Then wait for my signal, ‘kay.”
Usopp shuffled from under, making it more comfortable for the both, well, mostly you. Being within such a close proximity of your soft skin made him nervous, no amount of comfort was able to calm his nerves. But he ignored the squeezable skin that pressed against his chest, ignored that your core that was hovering just above his dick, ignored the grip on his bicep. He looked at you, waiting for the right moment to give you the sign so the fishman went down once and for all.
You were terrified, that was for sure, but you mustered up some courage to pull the plan off. You felt a tap on your hand, causing to rise up and stare directly at the fishman. But before he could open fire you let out a ear piercing shriek. A wail so loud it launched the fish man backwards. Far enough so he was too distracted in getting up and gaining back his senses to realize that Usopp was sneaking in.
You watched, wide eyed as the fishman sat up, bottle still tightly in his clutch. Usopp loaded in his new invention into his slingshot and directly hit the alcohol. A loud explosion followed, smoke clearing to reveal a motionless fishman.
You laughed in a relief, standing up and slowly approaching the scene.
Usopp shouts in excitement, proudly chuckling at the sight of the smoking body laid motionless on the ground. “Yeah! Take that! The Great Captain Usopp fells yet another notorious villain!” He swallows back his heavy breaths, glancing around. “And..no one’s around to see it.”
“I saw it, Uso!” You squealed, wrapping your arms around him with a giggle. The sheer force of your excitement gave you enough strength to drag him down into your chest. His whole face making contact with your tits while you rambled in content. “Just as brave as you tell in your stories! Gosh, I can’t wait tell everyone how you saved me.” You pull his head up, planting kisses along his cheeks.
The boy puffed his chest out pridefully, smirking despite the blush that littered his cheeks. “What can I say, a great Captain like me never fails to save a damsel in distress.” He hooked an arm around your waist, gazing down at you.
“A reward is much needed after this.” You Pat his chest, smiling softly with such a innocent yet antagonizing look. Without another word, you’d pulled away, waking back in the direction Arlong park.
Usopp stared at your fading figure with furrowed brows. “A reward?”

How OP men would react in a situation where you get anxious (Straw hats men! x fem! reader)

Storm
You wake up as another lighting strikes the peaceful silence in the Going Merry. Your body’s covered in sweat, your heartbeat pounding on your chest and the tears dripping down your cheeks. “Shit, shit, stop!” You say at loud as you cover your ears. “Please,” you sob.
You always wanted to be like those people who enjoy the sound of the rain and are fascinated by lighting, but no...
“Fuck! Stop!” You leave your bed, feeling frustrated and exit your room.
The storm makes the ship lurch dangerously sideways, making you tremble in the corridors. The place you reach without thinking is the kitchen, and you fall inside immediately and crawl behind the counter.
“Y/N?” You hear a voice, but your trembling body won't let you react to it “Sweetheart, are you okay?” Sanji kneels in front of you.
Another lighting strike makes you squeal before you can say anything.
Sanji frowns. “The storm?” He asks.
You feel his strong arms move you to his lap and hug you against his chest.
“It’s gonna be okay, sweets,” he coos as he caresses your back. You clutch your hand on his shirt like your life depends on it, his body heat and tender touches try to calm you. “I got you, baby. Nothing’s gonna happen to you, I promise.”
He keeps saying sweet reassuring things to you as if the storm isn’t out there.
“You’re so brave, Y/N,” The storm is fading little by little. “So strong and smart. Don’t worry about anything, you can trust me. Oh! You know what this reminds me?” He doesn’t wait for an answer, “When we made that complicated cake,” he chuckles. “I was scared and anxious, but you reassured and trusted me. You helped me in the kitchen, and we made a total disaster all over the place.”
You remember too. You raise your head to watch him.
“We burned the mix three times!” He exclaims laughing. “And the flour was more in your face than in the cake,” You giggle at that, so he lowers his head and smiles softly at you. “We did it at the end, didn’t we?” You nod. “But you never gave up on me,” he leans and kisses your forehead. “Are you feeling better, love?”
You nod again. “Thank you, Sanji.”
“There’s nothing to thank, darling. It's a pleasure to have you in my arms. You know what I’m thinking?”
“What?
He moves his arms to hold you tighter. “I’m starting to think my arms are made for holding you.”
You smile. “I think so too,” You lean to kiss his cheek.

Being in the spotlight
“So, is it true that you’re the only one without a devil’s fruit?” A girl interrupts your walk.
“Uh?”
“Who’s the stronger Straw-hat?” Asks another boy.
“How did you defeat that super strong man?” The people surround you and ask you many questions.
 “Are you dating someone?”
“Is it true that you’re the future pirate queen?”
Your body starts to shake, it’s hard to breathe and your hands are covered in sweat. “Please, just back off. I don’t know—”
“Are you having a family with Monkey D. Luffy?”
“Who’s more handsome?”
Meanwhile, Luffy’s enjoying food at the corner when he hears his name. He turns to look for the person, but he stops startled as he sees all the people reunited on the other side of the room.
“Nami,” she’s by his side. “What’s going on there?” He points.
“I don’t know.”
“Guys!” Usopp arrives taking off his binoculars “They’re surrounding Y/N!”
“What?”
Luffy stretches his neck, and he finds you in distress. “Usopp,” he pokes his arm. “I have an idea.”
**
The lights turn off and then, just one reflects to the other side of the room. “Ladies, and gentlemen,” Usopp appears. “May I have your full attention, please? I want to show you something. I’m sure you’ve never seen before!” He moves dramatically. “And for that, I need everybody to walk closer to me!” The crowd move slowly, curious about the new show.
Out of nowhere, you feel a grip on your waist and are pulled until you crash into a body. You open your mouth to protest but Luffy makes a sign to be quiet. He lifts you, so your legs hug his low waist, and you hold him by the neck. Luffy jumps and runs out the window and through the big house’s roof to finally land in a flat part.
When he makes sure you can stand, he lets you go.
“Holy shit!” You’re heavy breathing and put a hand on your chest as you sit down.
“Are you okay?” Luffy asks.
“No, Luffy. I’m not okay. A million people cornered me, asking me stupid questions and they demanded answers, then being treated like a fucking ragdoll and fly to the damn roof!” You yell at him exhaling all the frustration.
He moves awkwardly, not knowing what to do. “So, how do you feel now?” He smiles.
You frown standing up. “Why do you ask me that? How blind are you? I'm annoyed, overwhelmed, and exhausted. They don’t know about us; they don’t know me. I mean, how dare they ask me all that bullshit and treated me like I’m the weak one of the group? Shit! Someone asked if I’m having children with you! We saved them two minutes ago and they want our gossip? Why?”
“You should scream!” He raises his arms.
“What?”
“Scream! Like this!” He screams like an animal as he jumps many times. “C’mon! Your turn!”
You’re so confused by now, but your body’s shaking still so you obey him. Both of you scream so loud that your throats hurt. Somehow, that helps and makes you feel lighter. After a while, you look at Luffy and he smiles wide. You hug him tight.
“Thank you, Lu.”
He giggles. “You’re welcome!” He hugs you back. “Now, I’ll go for more food for us,” he says ending the hug.

Crowd
The city’s downtown is crowded, and it’s the stupid festival's fault, Zoro thinks.
You two must find Luffy before the Marines do, but the people and all the distractions make it difficult. At some point, Zoro feels your small hand grabbing his wrist and he turns to see you out of breath and trying not to get lost, the people are moving and crashing into your body like you aren’t there.
“Shit,” he murmurs. Zoro quickly takes your hand and leans at your height. “Y/N, hey. Breathe, breathe for me, c´mon,” You look at his eyes with fear.
“I can’t—I have to... Zoro, help,” you try to say.
He nods ignoring his lack of orientation and he takes all his focus on getting you safely out of there. He pulls you closer to his body, then he remembers Nami’s words ‘If you need to return to the ship, follow where the big fish statue is, and you’ll see the Merry—Zoro, wake the hell up!’ He shakes his head.
“The big fish!” He yells and points at the other side of the fountain in the middle. “Let’s go, I got you,” he tells you as he puts an arm around you and starts to push people away. He can feel your tense body and he checks your status every few minutes. “Don’t worry, we’re almost there.”
The second he says that a loud bang is heard, causing panic among the people. They run and scream everywhere.
“Zoro!” You yell.
“Fuck!” He thinks fast as he kneels near you. “Hop up!” He points at his back.
You jump, hold his neck and place your legs around his waist, hiding your face on his shoulder. Zoro makes sure you’re okay and run as fast as he can. Although some people push him, he continues his way without stopping.
You close your eyes as the tears fall without control. You can’t think of anything else but to hold Zoro.
“Y/N, hey,” Zoro whispers. You open your eyes slowly and realize that you are back on the ship.
You sit down, back against the wood handrail and Zoro kneels in front of you. “There you go,” he smirks looking at your eyes and grabbing your face. “How do you feel?”
You analyze yourself, checking if your body is complete; your heart isn’t rising anymore. You’re… fine. “I’m okay,” you smile. “Thanks to you”.
He nods caressing your cheek. “Are you sure? Do you need anything?”
“Just… just you, please,” He moves to your side, and he lifts you to his lap as he holds you to his chest. “I was so scared,” you mumble. You feel his kiss on your forehead.
“It’s okay, it’s over now.”
“Have I ruined everything?”
“Usopp found Luffy, and the others are coming, you don’t have to worry.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t say crap like that, everybody’s scared of something.”
“You aren’t,” You lean back to look at him.
“I was scared too,” he looks away. “Don’t tell anyone.”
“About what?”
“Let’s just— uh,” he groans, “just let me hold you before someone sees us.” He pulls you back again.
“But what scared you?”
“Forget it.”
“But I want to help you, what if it happens again?”
“It won’t, I’ll make sure of it.”
“But—”
“Lose you, okay!? Scared the shit out of me, damn it!”
“Oh.”
After a minute of silence, you hug him again.
“You’re my hero, baby,” You smile hearing his scoff.
“Shut up,” you giggle and you’re sure he’s smiling too.
“My knight in shiny armor.”
He puts a hand over your mouth.

sabo luffy prompt if your still accepting them:
Luffy about Ace's death: it should have been me.
Sabo wide eyed and scared cups Luffys face: never ever say that. Don't even think it.
x
It lingers in the back of Sabo’s mind, in the furthest, darkest corners, as persistent and sticky as a spiderweb.
Luffy is his crybaby little brother, always will be. Sabo wasn’t there to watch him grow up, grow out of childish old habits, so the sight of that precious face crumpling and flooding with tears was familiar—expected, even. There in the underbelly of the colosseum, Sabo’s body remembered what his useless brain had forgotten, pure muscle memory guiding his hands up to catch the human cannonball without missing a beat. The act of it was tried and true, even now. Of course Luffy would fly into his arms, would cling to him and cry. Sabo’s job was to be bigger and stronger and hold him up for however long it took him to feel brave again.
He might have been afraid to approach Luffy at first, but it was a stupid thing to be afraid of. Anyone else might have had good reason to be petrified of meeting their only remaining family—of facing the condemnation or betrayal or hatred for not being there when they were needed most, for only showing their face now when it hardly mattered. It would be a scary thing, reaching out the thing you had thought lost, knowing that to reach out would mean to lose it for real, but to stay away forever would be unthinkable.
But holding Luffy, looking at him, Sabo’s brain remembered how little he had to fear from this person. His heart opened up, like a flower unfolding for the sun, because it was safe to open and be gentle here. Luffy would never think to blame him or hate him, not for Ace. Not for anything.
No, instead he would clutch at Sabo’s jacket with shaking hands, ruined chest heaving, and apologize.
“I was right there,” he sobbed. “He died right in front of me and I couldn’t save him.”
At the time, Sabo smiled, and said, “I’m grateful you’re alive,” and let Luffy cry himself out. He helped Luffy out of his silly competitor costume and rubbed at his sticky face with the hem of his own jacket until the smaller boy was laughing and wrestling to get away. Luffy’s friends were waiting for him, and he had a job to do, so they parted ways not long after meeting again.
Responsibility was an odd look on Sabo’s little brother, who used to find trouble in every single nook and corner of the mountain they grew up on like it was his job, but not a bad one. And when he ran off, shouting, “I’ll see you soon, Sabo! I swear!” Sabo knew he could pile oceans and mountains and decades on top of that promise and it would never break.
Entering the colosseum, Sabo’s mind was focused forward—Ace’s fruit was waiting, Luffy was counting on him, Dressrosa was about to become a warzone. He was very good at compartmentalizing, at doing what needed to be done, his mind, as Koala affectionately put it once, like an unforgiving steel trap.
But it lingered, that spiderweb thought; invisible except for when the light was just right, when the angle was perfect, when Sabo’s mind was clear and he had a moment to himself to breathe and noticed it cluttering up the corner.
Luffy apologized.
The chance to discuss it came eventually, when Sabo found himself at the end of an intel-gathering mission with news of the Straw Hats in the waters nearby. He cleared it with Dragon, endured Koala’s smug face when he let her know to go on without him, then backtracked to catch up to the ostentatious brigantine that was already famous in the New World.
Luffy’s crewmates are a friendly sort, and the Thousand Sunny as a whole is happy to have him aboard. Franky waves him ahead and jumps down onto his vessel to secure it himself, and Chopper and Carrot and Usopp all call out to Sabo cheerfully, more curious about him than anything. He returns greetings as he makes his way across the busy deck, something in his chest easing like a sigh of relief to know that this bright, beautiful place full of bright, beautiful people is his little brother’s home.
Zoro nods at him once, all the energy he has to spare for someone who isn’t one of his own, then tilts his head toward what must be the galley door.
“Surprise, surprise,” Sabo laughs, and makes his way to the kitchen.
It smells amazing, something rich and spicy wafting from the simmering pans on the stove. Luffy is sitting at the huge, scarred table, gnawing on a piece of dried meat and talking with his mouth full, while his skeleton musician strums something unobtrusive and cheerful on an acoustic guitar. Sanji is working diligently on what Sabo can only assume is dinner prep. The dangerous Trafalgar Law sits across the table from Luffy, with a book open in front of him that he appears to have largely given up on. He’s watching his fellow Supernova with dark, clinical eyes, but there’s much more warmth in them than Trafalgar is probably aware of.
Those eyes flick past Luffy as the door opens. When he sees Sabo, Trafalgar stands, picks up his book and his mug, says, “There’s no way I’m dealing with two of you,” and leaves through the other door.
“Fair enough,” Sanji says, which is rude, but not unfounded.
Luffy swallows his mouthful, turns in his seat, and then lights up like the dawn.
“SABO!” he shrieks, leaping over the back of his chair like one of the monkeys he grew up with back on Mt. Colubo, instead of getting up and going around it like a person.
Sabo is already laughing by the time he catches the armful of little brother, squeezing Luffy tight for a moment before playfully ruffling his hair and tussling with him. Brook the skeleton tips his massive tophat and leaves them to it, but Sanji clearly can’t abandon his multiple stations, even just for a few minutes. That’s all right. An audience of one is more than he could have hoped for with all the bodies currently on his brother’s ship, between his own people and the visiting allies.
“How have you been, Lu? Staying out of trouble?”
“For now!” Luffy says happily. “I bet our next adventure will be fun, though!”
His body is battered and bandaged, but he looks a lot better than the last time Sabo saw him, in that little hidden-away cottage in Dressrosa, the night after he and his crew won peace for a people they barely knew. He’s already looking forward to the next adventure.
Whatever Sabo did to deserve him in a past life, he’s grateful.
He gives Luffy a push back towards the table, and draws a stool up next to his. The dining hall is cozy, and a cup of something steaming and fragrant appears in front of him the second he sits down. Sanji only hums when Sabo calls his thanks, already halfway back to the kitchen proper. It’s either the worst place to start a potentially difficult conversation, or the best one.
“I’m here for a few days,” Sabo says, “if you can spare the room.”
“Of course!” Luffy declares. “Always room for Sabo! Sanji?”
“Your new friends left us pretty well-stocked,” the cook says without looking up from something complicated he’s doing with a knife and a fish the size of a small horse. “We could probably feed an army for a few weeks if we wanted to.”
Luffy looks up at Sabo with a glowing smile, as if to say ‘see?’ and Sabo reaches over to shove his hat down over his eyes.
“Thanks, Lulu.”
He’s glad he remembered the nickname, because just like when they were kids, Luffy is immediately outraged.
“DON’T CALL ME—”
“I did want to tell you something kind of important,” Sabo cuts in smoothly, grinning inwardly at Luffy’s flustered, frustrated face. “I’d rather say it now and get it out of the way then hang onto it for my whole visit. And after I’ve said it, if you’d rather I didn’t stay anymore, that’s okay, too. Your ship, your rules.”
Luffy’s expression clears to one of confusion. The sound of Sanji’s knife has slowed.
“Okay,” Luffy says. “What does Sabo want to tell me?”
Sabo has practiced this half a dozen times on the way here, but it’s still very difficult to start.
“When we met, back at the colosseum,” he says, “I was so sure you would be angry. I thought you’d hit me, at least. I deserved that much, right?”
Luffy’s brow furrows. “Why would I hit you?”
Taking a steadying breath, Sabo says, “Because I wasn’t there for you when you needed me. Because I only showed up two years later when it suited me, when I would get Ace’s fruit out of it. Because I let Ace—”
“You didn’t,” Luffy says loudly. “You didn’t let anything.”
“I didn’t do anything,” Sabo replies, wrestling with his voice to keep it even. “I didn’t help you.”
He watched the transponder recording a hundred times. He relives it every time he closes his eyes. The gaping hole in Ace’s chest, the blood on Luffy’s hands, his childish, frightened plea of Ace’s name, the wounded animal sound of pain and grief he made right up until his mind took mercy and shut his body down.
A nightmare. An actual documented living nightmare.
And Sabo wasn’t there, because the two of them were strangers to him, and he had more important things to do than wonder about the execution of Gol D. Roger’s son.
He should have flown to Luffy the second those memories flooded in. He should have turned heaven and earth upside down to find him. Instead he chose to be a coward.
Robin was kind, more so than he deserved, and the two of them spent dozens of late nights in Baltigo trading stories about that same wild, relentless little person who owned the most real estate in both of their hearts. She filled the black hole inside him with better stories than the one in the papers, sun-filled stories, about triumphs and hijinks and heartaches and unconquerable love. She showed him the newsprint photo that he’d already looked at no less than a million times, of her beloved captain paying his respects to the fallen at Marineford, only this time she pointed out the message on his arm.
“I want to run to him right now,” she said. “I want to break everything and everyone in my way and not stop until I’m beside him again. But he wants me to wait. He isn’t ready yet.”
Sabo stared at the photo, mindlessly rubbing his finger over the 3D2Y he hadn’t understood until someone who actually knew his brother explained it to him. Robin let him have a moment, her eyes knowing and grave and full of a sympathy he didn’t think he deserved.
“It’s okay not to be ready,” she said. “Just don’t make him wait too long.”
Now, Sabo says, “I want you to know that you can be angry. You can yell and scream at me and blame me and that would be—it would be allowed, okay? Even if you just want me to go away, or you don’t want to see me for a little while. It’s all on your terms. Just don’t pretend. Not with me. Okay?”
Luffy’s face is blank and Sabo isn’t sure what to make of it. He dares to reach out and lay a hand on Luffy’s slim shoulder, impossibly small for the weight of the things it carries.
“Okay, Lu?”
“I’m not pretending,” Luffy says, loud and sudden. “I don’t do that, it’s dumb. I was happy to see Sabo, because I thought he was dead but he was alive and it was a miracle. Robin told me you had ameesia so you forgot all about me and it wasn’t your fault. I dunno about that stuff but if Robin said it, it must be true. It would be scary not to remember important things. I bet it hurt a lot when you finally remembered and it was already too late. I bet it was really lonely. I would never hate Sabo or hit him or blame him for that.”
Sabo’s next breath shudders, and the one after that, and he has to bite the inside of his lip hard. When he’s certain he won’t fall apart, he says, “Robin only told you that afterwards. You didn’t know I had amnesia when you first saw me.”
“You’re my Sabo,” Luffy stresses, like Sabo is being particularly dense for no good reason. “I’ll always be happy to see you first.”
It’s one of those Luffy-isms, Sabo thinks, leaning forward to put his face in his hands. One of those unexplainable, unquantifiable things that so many people hang their faith on. It would make sense for Luffy to be angry, because grief is heavy and horrible and doesn’t disappear into a fine mist just because something good happens. But there are so many things better than anger for him to hold onto instead. He’s surrounded by better things.
A plate is set down somewhere in front of him and he lifts his head. Sanji lingers after the delivery this time, slouching into a chair and pushing the platter of lemon curd cookies and fresh-from-the-oven turnovers to the brothers’ side of the table.
Luffy beams and picks up a turnover, but he doesn’t eat it right away. He turns it over in his hands a few times, warm against his fingertips, and begins to shred the flaky pastry into pieces.
Sanji sits up a little straighter in his chair, as if an alarm has gone off in the back of his head. Sabo is right there with him, because he’s never seen Luffy deliberate with food before, not ever. Especially not something home-cooked by someone he loves.
“If Sabo is angry,” Luffy says slowly, “he can tell me, too.”
“What?” he says faintly.
Looking at his hands, at the dessert falling apart into a loose pile on his plate, the young captain tells them plainly, “Ace died back then, instead of me. He might have lived if he didn’t save me from the magma man. Everyone was there to rescue him and ended up rescuing me instead. Because I wasn’t strong enough. I’m glad I didn’t die, because I still have my nakama, and we still have promises to keep. But I bet that some people, who fought in that war for Ace, who loved him and didn’t even know me, wish that it had happened differently.” He still doesn’t look up, expression unreadable as he burns the tips of his fingers on the hot rhubarb filling dripping from the mangled turnover, when he adds, “Sabo loves us both, but he loved Ace longer.”
If Sabo had been stabbed with sea stone, it would have hurt less. If he had burned with the Grey Terminal, or drowned at sea in front of the Celestial Dragons, it would have hurt less than this.
He’s on his feet before he’s aware of moving, seat tipping over and rolling away behind him. His heart is racing, he can feel the steam start to lift off of his superheated skin as Ace’s fire inside him begins to react.
“Don’t say that,” he says, too loud, almost a shout. “Don’t ever say that. Don’t even think it.”
Luffy finally looks at him. His mouth is set but his eyes are wide, and Sabo may have twelve years to catch up on, may have failed both his brothers at every possible turn up until now, but he still knows what his little brother’s face looks like when he’s seeking reassurance.
How many thunderstorms and bad dreams did they weather together back on Goa? How many times had tiny hands shaken Sabo awake, only for him to look up into these eyes exactly?
Back then they were both children, so Sabo would make fun of him, or he would groan and roll his eyes, and they would have a hushed argument about it, but ultimately Luffy would fall asleep safe under a shared blanket, the thunder or the nightmare the farthest thing from his mind. Sabo never regretted it, even when Ace laughed at him in the morning.
The body remembers. He’s reaching automatically, and holding Luffy’s face in his hands. He isn’t afraid of burning him, because Ace’s fire would never burn him.
“I wouldn’t trade you for anything,” he says. “Not for anything. It doesn’t work that way. If I ever had to choose one or the other, you or him, I’d kill whoever made the rules and choose you both.” Unspoken, forever unsaid, is the knowledge that he and Ace would always put Luffy first, because that’s an older brother’s prerogative. Luffy wouldn’t understand it, so Sabo simply says, “I loved Ace longer, but I don’t love him more.”
Luffy nods, his eyes glassy, the firm line of his mouth beginning to wobble. Sanji snatches the plate and the messy turnover scraps away with a bitten-off sound, stalking back into the kitchen.
Reeling, feeling somewhat as if he’s backing away from the perilous edge of a five-hundred-foot fall, Sabo releases Luffy only to drag him forward by the shoulders into an embrace instead. Luffy scrambles to his feet to return it properly, wrapping rubbery arms around Sabo that loop a few extra times. Sabo buries his face in the top of Luffy’s head and breathes him in; sea-salt, warm grass, everything touched by sunshine.
My brother, he thinks, with all the same wonder as the first time he thought it.
“And if you ever say anything like that ever again,” he goes on, “I’ll fly here from wherever I am in the world and kick your ass.”
“You can try!” Luffy says, leaning back to look up at him. He’s beaming, untouched by everything he’s lived through—still, in part, that same stubborn little kid that Sabo and his best friend first met in the jungle, who decided they were all better off together. “I’m stronger now. I could probably beat you this time!”
“You think so, huh?”
“No fighting in my kitchen, idiots,” Sanji snaps, striding back to the table with a big dessert bowl in hand. “Do I look like I have time to babysit? If you’re gonna wrestle, take it outside.”
He all but slams the bowl in front of his captain, revealing the deconstructed turnover folded into fresh vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel. It’s the most aggressive display of affection Sabo thinks he’s ever seen, and he grew up with Koala.
“Ooh, thanks Sanji! I would have eaten it the other way, too, but your ice cream is the best!”
“Of course it is,” the chef says shortly. “Eat it before it melts. In fact, go eat it in front of Zoro, it’ll be funny.”
“Sanji’s weird,” Luffy says, full of good cheer, but he hauls the bowl out the door with him and makes a beeline straight for where he somehow knows his first mate will be. “C’mon, ‘Bo, I want you to meet Sunny!”
He lets Luffy get a head-start out the door, listens to him join the rest of his crew on the deck, their voices rising together gladly. He picks up his chair and rights it, scooting it back into place at the table. He just needs a minute.
“None of us were there, either,” Sanji says abruptly. “We all wish we were. Would’ve given just about anything to be there with him. But by the time we got the news it was too late.” He crosses his arms, leans back against the counter, and says, “You can imagine what a failure that felt like. Leaving our captain out to dry like that.”
“He would never hold that against you,” Sabo says immediately, knowing the truth of it in his blood and bones.
Sanji nods, looking Sabo in the eye as he agrees, “No, he wouldn’t.”

How OP Men Ask to Be Your Valentines (SFW/Fuff)
Some are short and some are long. Also they all read poems.
Sanji, Zoro, Luffy, Usopp, Ace
Black Fem Reader in Mind
Luffy
Tumblr media
Wellll….he didn’t even know that day existed.
He seen Sanji decorate the deck the day before with heart shaped tapestries and making love theme foods and he explained.
When sanji realized that Luffy didn’t know he then asked if he asked you to be his Valentines and he obviously said no after a following “what is that.”🧍🏽
Needless to say after some yelling Luffy went to go find you
It wasn’t the most traditional way, but Lord help him he tried.
He stole some cupcakes and cookies and even a balloon Sanji had put up in the kitchen and rushed over to you.
Unfortunately none of the sweets survived except half a cookie, but you still had a balloon though!
“Y/N! Tomorrow be my Valentines! Okay?”
Before you could say yes or no he shoves the cookie in your mouth and hands you the balloon. He’s so proud of his declaration you couldn’t be upset.
“Oh wait! Sanji said i need to tell you a poem!”
“Violets are red, Roses are blue, please be my Valentines or else…”
“….or else what.”
He just chuckles at you while squishing your cheeks.
You don’t know if he was actually threatening you or didn’t remember the poem.
Honestly you haven’t been more warmed in your tummy to see the slight blush in his face when you nod in agreement and kiss his chubby cheeks
9/10 would love to see again.
Zoro
Tumblr media
Only knows about it because of how much you talk about the special love day.
Yet
Still manages to nearly forget to ask you.
All day you been hinting on him asking
“Sanji asked all the girls to be his valentines…”
“Pathetic.”
“…You don’t think it’s cute he asked them?…y’know…seems pretty cute.”
“He made a fool of himself.”
It irked you he didn’t even have a light bulb moment and just ask right then and there and ask. You would have appreciated it, but no.
Forgot.
It wasn’t until Robin and Sanji asked what did Zoro gift you to ask to be your Valentines and nearly smacked himself on the head for it.
“THAT’S WHY SHE WAS ASKING ME THOSE QUESTIONS?! WHY DIDN’T SHE TELL ME!?”
“CUZ IT’S YOUR JOB DUMBASS!”
Luckily Robin was going out to a floral shop and Zoro tagged along. She assisted him on what flowers to give you and even a card with a pretty gold necklace (he now is in debt from nami again)
You were in your room pouting up until you seen Zoro awkwardly walk towards you with something behind his back and plop the flowers and gifts on your side.
He then plops HIMSELF on your lap and buries himself in your tummy while wrapping his arms around you
“Read the card.”
And you do so
“Blood is red. My shirt is blue. Be my Valentines, but either way I’ll screw you.”
….
….
“I’mma beat yo ass, Zo.”
“WHAT! That is IS A WONDERFUL POE—OW!”
Usopp
Tumblr media
Poor boy is a nervous wreck asking you (his crush) to be his Valentines.
All week he has been drawing you. You both took a picture together a few weeks prior and since then he has been struggling to draw you the perfect Valentines Day Card
Of course he draws you beautifully but that doesn’t stop him from being a little scardey cat about it
“Hey! Y/N! Uh…can i give you something!?”
You smile and nod. “Of course. You made a another contraption?”
He smiles timidly and shakes his head no before he got lost in thought.
You see a rose inside a pretty pink card and it says on the front “Please open!”
You do and its a small drawing of you, Usopp, and the Going Merry and it says:
“Just as I am brave and smart, you’re even more with your sweet, kind heart. It would be my honor to be your Valentines, and if that goes well will you eventually be mine(s)?”
It was written so funny so you chuckle a little, but you then gasp to see the art he done for you. It was so detailed and gorgeous in contrast to the tiny doodle he did inside the card
“Us….WAIT USOPP!”
Poor boy ran before you could answer
Luckily you caught him and let him know of course you can be his Valentines
And a little more too…because you felt the same way about him.
Sanji
Tumblr media
Genuinely surprised why his birthday isn’t on Valentines Day but we move
Obviously Mr. Prince wouldn’t dare NOT to ask you for your hand in being his Valentines, especially since you’re his girlfriend.
He plans out the entire 2 weeks of spoiling you (more than usual).
He acts like youre ganna say no somehow when everybody knows youre not
Zoro absolutely cannot stand him all two week
Everything is heart shaped
The food
The snacks
The desserts
Everything all for you and everybody has to endure it
You swear his eyes are a Crimson pink now this entire month.
And by February 13th he takes you on the deck after dinner and hands you MORE gifts
“Ji! You can’t keep giving me—“
“Just read it.”
The night was perfect, he was wearing a beautiful blue and black suit lighting up his cigarette with one hand as his other was still filled with another gift. He even got you the dress you’re wearing. You felt spoiled rotten. And you were. And Sanji knew that but he didn’t care.
He’d give you the world if you asked it
You open the pretty card and rose petals fall out and it says:
“My love for you cannot be compared. My love for you cannot be tested. My love for you cannot be measured. Even until the end of time my love for you shall never perish. You bring me light, you bring me joy, you are what I think about when I need remembrance of what I am fighting for. You are the calm in my chaos. You are my escape. My love. My Mademoiselle. I love you. -Your Prince, Sanji”
By the time you look up he is putting his hand out to you with warm cheeks and a smile,
“Be-“
“Yes! Sorry…i just..YES I wanna be your Valentines!”
You were overjoyed kissing your now bloodied nose man on the cheek and he hands you one last gift.
It’s a fake flower.
“I’ll stop loving you when that flower dies.”
Fuck he was corny but so romantic with it.

Part 13 Enies Lobby
The Straw Hats make it to Enies Lobby to save Robin, Franky and Reader, (During the trip Franky tells Reader about his past and about his Mentor Tom) with Spadam planning to bring her to Marine HQ, (Giving him a higher position of power) as he tries to convince her that he’s a ‘Hero’ and Nico Robin’s a ‘Devil’, (Along with ‘Cutty Flam’ Franky and the ‘Monster Fishman’, Tom) he thinks she’ll believe him since kids are ‘stupid’, however she calls him a ‘Liar’, (She may be naive, but she can tell good people from bad people, no matter how well they hide it) calling Spadam the ‘True Villain’, making Franky laugh, only for Reader to get slapped by Spadam, enraging Robin and Franky
You can choose if Reader is with Robin being taken to the Gates of Justice or is with Lucci and helps Luffy in his fight with her power being seen in action (She’s hugging Luffy’s back tightly with her horn flaring up, allowing him to use 2nd and 3rd Gear even more effectively) but Luffy makes sure to thank Reader and gives her his Straw Hat as a promise that he’ll save her and Robin from this terrible place
When everyone gets to escape, Reader jumps in Luffy’s arms and cries as they’re escaping on the Merry (She has sparkly eyes after learning Grandma Kokoro is a Mermaid) who came to save them, however they have to put Merry to Rest, crying as they all think about the great memories they had on that ship (It’s just as hard on Reader because the Going Merry was the first place she ever got to call ‘Home’, and made a lot of happy memories) with everyone tearfully saying goodbye as they head back to Water 7
I like to think Robin used Clutch on Spadam even harder and broke his spine into a few more pieces because of what he did to Reader (Don’t anger Robin, especially when she’s Mama Robin)
-You stirred after about an hour or so and you immediately heard Robin, “Y/N!” your eyes opened to see both her and Franky staring down at you in worry.
-You were still on the train, as CP9 had taken the three of you, leaving Usopp and Sanji behind, and as you sat up, you winced, feeling a pain on your upper temple, lifting a hand to feel some bandages.
-Franky grinned, patting the top of your head, “You took a tumble then took a nap- but you’ll be just fine Y/N!” you looked up at him, as he was new, but you didn’t feel afraid of him, giving him a small smile.
-They did their best, keeping you calm, with Franky telling you about his past, with his mentor, Tom, who, with his help as well as others like Iceburg, created the Sea Train, which made your eyes sparkle brightly.
-Franky told you that his real name was Cutty Flam but changed it to Franky after his ‘death’ trying to save Tom and Franky, for the first time, had to deal with you crying.
-Robin thought it was rather cute, seeing Franky on his belly, to bring himself down to your level, trying to calm you down, panicking.
-As you arrived at Enies Lobby, Robin spoke to you before CP9 came in, “Y/N, I need you to be brave and stay close to me, okay?” you were scared but gave her a small nod, holding onto her robe as the three of you were led out.
-You didn’t like Spandam, he was a bad person, this you could tell as he was walking towards the three of you, mocking Franky first before shooting him.
-You gasped, “Franky!” before seeing that he was mostly all right, tears in your eyes before Spandam turned to you and Robin, sneering at Robin, “The Devil Child herself- to think you would be so easy to capture- and you as well, little Y/N! You’re going to make a lot of people very happy, including me! That promotion is mine!”
-You were confused, head tilting to the side, “Promotion? What’s that?” he grinned, thinking you were a foolish child, “Whoever in the marines deliver you to headquarters will get an increase on their rank, which means more power and money! You’ll help me do that right- I’ll put in a good word for you because you brought in this evil woman and that reckless and violent man! They’re bad people Y/N- come over here with me!”
-You glared, looking like an angry kitten, “Robin isn’t evil! And Franky was nice to me! You’re a bad man!” CRACK!
-Spandam, not liking that you were talking back, backhanded you across the face, sending you to the ground with a sharp cry. Franky screamed out your name from his spot on the ground, bound in chains, while Robin was quickly by your side, “Y/N!”
-You sniffled, holding your cheek as she helped you sit up before Kalifa grabbed you, holding you in her arms while Robin was put into chains herself, sealing her Devil Fruit abilities.
-You were quickly in tears, now scared before Spandam ordered Robin to be taken immediately to the Gates of Justice to be executed.
-You were stunned, eyes wide in fear before Kalifa passed you to Spandam, who was happy that you were now quiet, even if it was due to fear, and you left Franky behind, seeing him staring up at the two of you, unable to do anything.
-Your head was ringing from the slap, making you kind of dizzy, so you didn’t realize you were at the top of the stairs at the Gates of Justice until Spandam sat you down and you immediately fell to your rear.
-Robin dropped to her knees as you scrambled over to her, hugging her around her waist, she could see that you were trembling, scared as the other Straw Hats arrived, standing across the way, here to save you and Robin both.
-You then heard Luffy, “Say you want to live!!” tears hit your cheeks and you looked up, seeing Robin in tears, “I WANT TO LIVE!!” you turned, seeing Luffy grin before they charged in, including that masked man, Sogeking.
-CP9 went on the attack, just leaving Spandam, who quickly turned, rage in his eyes, “You’re not taking my glory away from me!” he drew his sword, preparing to strike Robin down then take you, but not before ordering a Buster Call, something Robin looked terrified to hear about.
-You were scared, not wanting to move, as you knew this man would hurt Robin- you felt your heartbeat in your ears as he got closer, going to grab you to get to her.
-You clenched your eyes shut, turning quickly, “Don’t hurt my mama!!” WHACK!!!!!
-Robin was stunned, eyes wide as you leapt up, taking your lesson from Nami to heart, and you headbutted Spandam hard in his groin.
-The scream he let out was unearthly, falling back as he clutched at himself and you grabbed the ring of keys he had, quickly rushing to Robin to unlock her shackles.
-You were trying not to fumble, feeling scared as Spandam was now mad, trying to get to his feet, tears in your eyes and as he grabbed his sword, you heard the click of the shackles, and instantly Robin had a hold of him with her abilities.
-Robin turned to you with a sweet smile, “Close your eyes and cover your ears for a moment.” You nodded and did as you were told as Robin turned, her sweet smile not falling as a murderous aura surrounded her and while blocked, you heard Spandam screaming out in pain as she broke every bone in his body, payback for putting his hands on you.
-You then heard, “Robin! Y/N!” you looked up with a smile on your face, “Luffy!” and Robin smiled as well before her smile fell, seeing Rob Lucci, now a jaguar, chasing after him.
-Franky arrived and grabbed Robin, going to grab you as well, to get out of the area, as Luffy was going to go wild, “We need to get out of here! That Buster Call is arriving!”
-You didn’t run to him however, you ran to Luffy, leaping onto his back as you saw that he was injured, pushing his body to the limit and your horn flared to life.
-Luffy instantly felt his strength and stamina returning and he grinned, punching his fist into his hand, “Thank you Y/N! I’ll treat you to something tasty after this!” you nodded, remaining silent as Luffy was able to go above and beyond his abilities, taking on Rob Lucci at full strength.
-As the fight drew to an end, Luffy made sure you were safe, holding you close as you were now panting hard, a fever taking control before he heard a voice telling him to jump.
-Down in the ocean, you both saw Merry there, looking like it was on her last legs, but there nonetheless and he shouted at everyone to get to the ship.
-Now resting, you felt your fever slowly leaving as you landed on Merry,  your home, before you saw Kokoro again and your eyes went huge, “A mermaid?!” while others weren’t pleased seeing that Kokoro was a mermaid, like Sanji, who just cried, you were sparkly eyed, completely entranced.
-Once safely back in Water 7, Nami helped patch you up, your family all furious that you had been injured, hit by a grown man. Robin was sitting next to you, “Y/N- who taught you to go after a man’s jewels?” you tilted your head to the side, “Men have jewels?”
-After scolding Robin, thinking she was tainted you, you beamed when Nami asked if you hit someone between the legs, “I did! He was going to hurt Mama Robin so I jumped up and headbutted him!” everyone except Robin turned white before many were yelling at Nami for teaching you that before she yelled back, “She needs to be safe!”
-You cried as you saw Usopp back, hugging him close, “I missed you!!” he smiled, hugging you close before you leaned back, seeing Sogeking’s slingshot and your eyes widened before smiling, “Did Mr. Sogeking give that to you?”
-You were so cute- you had no idea that Usopp and Sogeking were the same person, but Usopp wasn’t going to tell you that, “He did! He told me to use it to keep you safe.”
-You smiled up at him before tears welled in your eyes, “I wish I could have said goodbye to him. He was nice- like you, big brother!” Usopp was now panicking, unsure if he should go and change to make you happy again, much to Zoro and Sanji’s amusement.
-You hugged Luffy close who was also in tears as Merry, your home- the first place you ever called home and were happy to do, was in flames, burning it. All the memories, both the good and the bad, on Merry, were memories that were important to you, and to see that home go up in flames, you couldn’t stop crying.
-You were in awe of the new ship, Going Sunny, or just Sunny for short, your eyes sparkling like Luffy’s, Usopp’s, and Chopper’s, as you wanted to explore this massive ship.
-Sanji was given the task of showing you around and while you were in the galley, Sanji heard Franky screaming in pain and he peeked out, his unlit cigarette falling from his lips, seeing what Robin was doing.
-You heard Franky in pain, and you gasped, thinking he was being attacked, “We have to go help Franky!” Sanji just held you close, keeping you from going outside, “He’ll be okay- he’s just being disciplined.” You tilted your head to the side, “Like when you catch Luffy sneaking food?” he chuckled, ruffling your hair gently, “Exactly!”
-Franky couldn’t help but cry into his elbow loudly when you were told that Franky was joining the crew and your eyes lit up, “Really? I’m so happy!!” before hugging his leg. You were really too cute!!

I’m A Ghost Of You, You’re A Ghost Of Me Pt. 3
Pairing: Roronoa Zoro x reader
Content: slow burn relationship, fluff, some platonic Usopp and reader, mentions of weapons, strawhat!reader
Word Count: 1.4k
A/N: sigh i kind of struggled with this part, idk why but i just didn’t feel super proud of the writing? butttt i really enjoyed the ending bit, so hopefully you do too! there might be some edits made later, and i think there will be around 2 more parts after this? anyway, lmk what you think! <3
Part 2 • Part 4
Nami proposes a plan to split up in pairs and look for the swordsman, so as to cover more ground faster without the risk of running into trouble alone. You admire her ability to think ahead and prepare for any possibility- it’s something you, as a child of nobility with a more comfortable upbringing, never really developed.
Everyone sort of pairs off, and you decide to follow Usopp. You enjoy his humor and get to know him as the two of you search for Zoro. This leases you to learn that he’s an inventor, something of a demolitions expert, and he left his home to become a brave warrior of the sea, all of which you find admirable.
After a while of wandering around the island, you and Usopp come to a steep incline. It’s a natural hill, but you notice that if you were to walk around the base to the other side, you’d find a set of stairs. He wants to go around and use said stairs, but you’re sure you’d be able to make it to the top faster by simply hiking up. So with the promise of meeting at the top, you get to hiking the steep hill, and he runs off to climb the stairs instead. As someone who has gotten used to scaling walls as a method of escaping in order to run off in the past… this is an easy feat to you.
And sure enough, you reach the top of the hill in less than 3 minutes or so. It’s a lovely sight to take in; covered in grass and a few patches of flowers and other flora, as well as-
“It’s you!” You’re so excited to see the man before you that you call out to him before you’ve even crossed the expanse of the hill to meet him.
He turns to look at you, “It’s… Damn, you look different.”
“Do I?” You look down at the clothes you’re wearing, not quite so “let me try to blend in with the civilians of this island in hopes I’m not caught by marines and brought back home” anymore. Instead, your outfit fits your personality and taste- it’s much less dull, so you can see what he means. Also, you’ve changed your hairstyle a little. In short, everything about you just seems more fitting, rather than having the feel of someone who isn’t yet sure of themselves like you had a year ago. You spin as if to further show off these changes and agree with a smile, “Hm, I guess so.”
There it is again- your smile. Zoro has held on to the memory of you as best as he could, not that you were ever easy to forget, but images in his mind are nothing compared to the real thing.
When he doesn’t respond, seemingly lost in thought, you go on; “I’m happy to see you again-“
“You are?” Then he coughs awkwardly, realizing he sounds all too eager for his disciplined and focused persona.
You laugh- “Yeah, I never got the chance to repay you.”
“Repay me?” Zoro scoffs, “For what?”
A soft smile graces your features; “For letting me go.”
He shakes his head and looks down for a moment, as if thinking. “You don’t owe me anything.”
“Hah!” As if you’d let such a life changing action go. No; you had good enough manners to know favors should be returned. “Well, at least let me introduce myself properly this time,” you extend a hand to shake his, “I’m y/n.”
Zoro smirks and shakes your hand- his grip is tight, but not uncomfortable. “Roronoa Zoro.”
Usopp finally catches up with the two of you, and all three of you begin heading back toward the docks to meet the others. After a while, the swordsman speaks up.
“So, how much convincing did it take for Luffy to get you to join?”
“Not much. I’ve kind of just been doing my own thing for a year now so… I’m excited to be a part of something.”
“You should’ve seen them Zoro!” Usopp move in between you two and slings an arm around both of your shoulders. “We found them in a bar, and then a marine challenged them to a duel and we were all like GASP!” You giggle at his exaggerated storytelling, and he continues; “Then Luffy was like ‘I bet you could beat him!’ so they were just like ‘sure, why not!’ And we all went outside and it was like a Western showdown- The marine drew his gun and the mighty archer, y/n, drew their bow…”
By the time Usopp is finished explaining how you came to be a part of the crew, the dock is in sight along with the rest of the Straw Hats. “And at last, they knocked back their arrow and- BAM! The arrow bent his gun out of shape! Can you believe it Zoro?”
He shrugs, “Well is that what happened?”
When you realize the question is directed at you, you smile sheepishly. “Uh… Sure! pretty much, at least.”
Once the three of you reach the dock, all seven board the ship. Luffy is overjoyed to have his crew assembled to take on the Grand Line, so Sanji cooks a huge meal for all of you to enjoy. Eventually all the plates are cleaned and cleared, and the clouds in the sky are overtaken by night stars.
“I can take watch for the night.” You offer to your new crewmates, but Nami says that Zoro probably is already. So, you decide to join him when she shows you to the crow’s nest. Before entering, you knock on the wooden trapdoor, then open it up.
Zoro sees the top of your head and offers a hand to help pull you up into the crow’s nest, which you thank him for.
“No problem.”
For a while you simply watch the sea, which is very calm tonight. It leads you to thinking of another night where the sea was calm and the stars bright. The same night you met Zoro when he came to deliver you back to your parents- but even then you’d been too confident (in both his kindness and your own skills) to feel scared. You just get good vibes from him- like he makes you feel safe. So you look over at him, but find that he’s already looking at you. He smiles and you return the smile, albeit a little softer and overwhelmingly endeared-looking. Finally, you break the silence
“So… from a pirate hunter to a pirate- how did that happen?”
Zoro shrugs, “Luffy’s a good captain. I wouldn’t just join any crew, ya know.”
“Hm, same here.”
“Now, nobility to a pirate is a much bigger change, if you ask me.”
“Ah,” you give him a sarcastically sweet smile, “I didn’t.”
This causes Zoro to bark out a laugh. It’s the first time you’ve seen him laugh, you realize, and you’re hooked. He looks so much less imposing like this; full of joy instead of his usual, very focused demeanor. You find yourself giggling as well.
“Tell me, y/n, did you really put a dent in a gun with some flimsy arrow?”
“Like I said, I’m pretty good.”
“I’d like to see for myself.”
“I’m sure you will, eventually.” He huffs through his nose, and you continue, “I haven’t seen you using any of your three swords, either.”
“You will. Eventually.”
You accept Zoro’s statement with a nod. “I don’t think I ever thanked you, properly-“
“You don’t owe me, y/n.”
“I know, you keep saying that, but- you changed my life!” He whips his head around to look at you again, and you continue, “I mean it; I wouldn’t be a part of this crew… hell, I wouldn’t be anywhere but back in my room if it weren’t for you.”
Zoro maintains eye contact for a moment, then gives you an offer you can’t refuse. “Alright, you can buy me a drink at the next island we stop on.”
This makes your cheeks feel warm, though you try not to let the shock be too evident in your features. He must pick up on it through your silence anyway. “What? You wanna repay me, right?”
You nod, “Mhm.”
“So, it’s a date. Go get some rest, I’ve got this covered.”
That night, you try not to giggle and kick your feet too loudly for the sake of your crewmates who are fast asleep. It’s hard though, when your already massive crush is being egged on- and by the crush in question!
Now you just have to make it into the Grand Line and stay alive long enough to go on that date.

Usopp is colder than you! He snuggles up to you as you wrap the blanket over both of you.

Usopp, 19? Hehehhe
AHHH i was hoping someone would request Usopp with this hehehehehe, I hope you enjoy!!!

“You’re a horrible liar.”
Character(s): Usopp
WC: 547
Tumblr media
It was the PERFECT gift. The best possible gift anyone could ever buy, and you were able to snatch it before anyone else. A few islands ago, while shopping with Usopp, he had mentioned a new set of super rare paints that were going to be released soon. He had expressed to you that he really wanted them, but there was a chance you'd be out at sea when they released, and basically every artist wanted them, so there was no chance he'd ever get them.
Well you just proved him wrong because YOU GOT THEM. You'd heard from the last island that they would be in stock at the next island...but only for a few days. So...as soon as you docked on the island you told everyone you wouldn't be back till later, causing a bunch of questioning stares. You RAN to the nearest art supply store and bravely FOUGHT your way through to get the paints (you had waited for like 3 hours for them to restock).
By the time you returned to the Sunny, the sun was setting. There was a good chance dinner was over, but you weren't worry since you were sure Sanji saved you a plate. You figured you would sneak off to your bed, hide the paints under your covers, and while Usopp was busy you'd quickly wrap them and give them to him. A simple easy plan to follow. Simple and easy.
What you didn't account for was running into Usopp on the way to your room. Great!!!!!!!!!
"Y/N!! There you are, you missed dinner. I know Sanji probably hid your food somewhere in the kitchen so Luffy doesn't find it, so don't worry about that-" he was going to continue rambling on, when he noticed you hiding a bag behind your back, "What's in there?" he asked.
Shit. You didn't think this out.....
"Um, well its nothing!!"
"Come onnn show meeeee," Usopp whined, "Is that why you were gone all day? What is it?"
You needed to come up with a lie so believable that even the great God Usopp, captain of 8000 men, basically the king of the liars, would be fooled.
"Its super SUPER rare treasure that I got from fighting a scary paint monster!!!! But you can't look at it cause it's mine!' You shouted.
WHAT WAS THAT WHY DID YOU SAY THAT!!!! Literally that was the worst possible lie you ever could have come up with.
It was silent for a good minute till Usopp burst out laughing. He was laughing so hard that he had to clutch his stomach. Great.
"You're a horrible liar," Usopp said in between laughs, "Maybe leave the lying to me, alright?"
Your face was beet red as you sighed and accepted that the surprise was ruined.
"I was going to surprise you with these..." you said, slowly pulling out the paints, "But since that was ruined, here's what I got you."
You could see how his jaw dropped from the sight of the paint. Literally. It hit the floor.
"How-HOW DID YOU GET THESE!!!!!!!!!!"
To say Usopp was happy was a understatement. If it wasn't for the 10000 thank yous and the new gadget he made for you that let you knew he was grateful, his newest story about the brave Y/N and how they saved the great captain Usopp from the evil paint monster made your heart melt.

ive seen you talk about usopp's dream a lot, and i agree with a lot of your points (basically all of them lol) except for one: the part where you say he's already achieved his goal and simply needs to realize it.
ive always seen usopp's goal as being similar to zoro's, in the aspect that neither of them will be satisfied until they themselves can determine that they've achieved their dreams.
for zoro, he'll be able to say that he's achieved his dream once he, as stated before, has beaten mihawk in a fight (and also helps luffy become king of the pirates, if i've read it correctly).
and for usopp, despite it being a lot more vague, he also has a self-determined goal like zoro. "become a brave warrior of the sea". i personally don't think its simply a matter of him realizing he's already one, but another matter of him only being satisfied once he thinks he's done enough to warrant the title- just like zoro will only be satisfied once he thinks he's done enough to warrant the title of "greatest swordsman in the world".
ah, but these things are pretty up to interpretation, right? i'm not here to say you're wrong or something, hopefully it doesn't come across that way! i just think it's interesting how similar usopp and zoro's dreams are, i wanted to share. :]
Hi! I really like the connections you’ve made here between Zoro and Usopp’s dreams, and I do agree they share a lot of similarities. I think they’re the only two besides Luffy whose dream is to achieve a specific title (king of the pirates, world’s greatest swordsman, brave warrior of the sea). Unlike Luffy, however, Zoro and Usopp’s dreams don’t have a commonly agreed upon path to reaching that title (for Luffy, it’s finding the one piece). You’re totally correct in that both Zoro and Usopp have defined their own terms of when that title as finally been achieved, and they’re the only ones who can basically say that the dream has been achieved.
However, I think there is a very specific difference here, and it’s one that led me to say that Usopp has already achieved his goal while Zoro has not. And this difference is this: Zoro has already defined the specific action he needs to do in order to achieve his dream, while Usopp has not. Therefore, we can see that Zoro has not achieved his dream yet by his own terms, while Usopp, as his terms are yet undefined, may be able to claim that his dream is completed.
Zoro has made it clear from the start how he intends to claim that he is the best swordsman in the world, and that is to defeat the current best. He has indicated that the current best is Mihawk, therefore, he wants to beat him in combat in order to achieve his dream. He’s expressed that specific goal, even promising Luffy that he would engage in this specific duel in order to get to the title. It’s completely self inflicted: he could potentially already claim that he’s the best swordsman in three sword style, for example. But for Zoro it doesn’t work that way because he won’t think he’s achieved his dream until he completes the specific action he wanted (like you said in your ask).
Usopp, on the other hand, has very much not done that. We don’t have a specific action that he needs to complete in order to achieve that title, and as far as I know he hadn’t indicated anything specific that will demonstrate that he’s finally achieved his dream. So in my opinion, as he hasn’t expressed what exactly will make the goal completed, we can claim that it’s already been reached. At the end of the day, like you said, he’s the only one that can declare he’s achieved this title, but I think if he stepped back and took stock of what he’s done up to this point, he may be able to declare it achieved based on all the brave things he’s already done.
I think another element of this is that Usopp is a special case because of his insecurities. Part of the journey that he takes emotionally through the series is confronting his self hatred and realizing that he is enough as himself, that he is already a warrior and can accept himself as he is. In my opinion, realizing that he’s been the brave warrior he wanted to be all along would complete this journey and allow him to overcome those insecurities. Zoro doesn’t have the same emotional journey here to go through, and therefore doesn’t need to have that specific realization.
This is a really interesting conversation, thanks for prompting this train of thought!

with a s/o who’s jumpy/easily spooked (Usopp, Sanji, Marco)
gn reader, fluff/comfort word count: 0.8k
Usopp
He’s similar to you in a lot of ways, so Usopp of all people would understand your feelings best
It’s hard being on a crew of monsters fielding beasts and bastards from all angels on the Grand Line, only getting by by your wit and, in most cases, the skin of your teeth - you love the rest of your crew, most of all your captain, but they’d never really understand like Usopp does, he’s just a regular person, as you are
When things get tough, you’re both quaking in your boots, yet somehow, you always end behind the talented sniper or held tightly in his arms as Usopp hauls ass out of there if even he knows that the situation is too much to handle alone
And when it comes to the mundane (to the Strawhats) - spooky stories from the crew’s resident, though very macabre, mom, things that go bump in the night, or a simple storm - Usopp is always there beside you, never any judgement and always trying to take your mind off things with tales of his brave adventures, if the circumstances allowed, holding your hand all the way through
If there’s one thing you can absolutely count on him for though, it’s pest control; when you shriek and squeal at a spider in the tub, Usopp is confident in his abilities to quickly and swiftly remove the little guy from your premises
(Yes, he’ll still hold and comfort you for the ‘emotional damages’ that the hairy legged creature caused afterwards, but only after he’s washed his hands)
Sanji
Please, he’d do anything to be your knight in shining armor, he’d dreamed of this day since he was reading fairytales with Reiju in his mom’s lap
Sanji dives to your aid at a pin drop, nothing makes you scream and gets away with it (well, maybe bugs, but he tries to be brave for you anyway), even mice - although he does have a soft spot for the little critters, so they’d end up being rehomed instead of removed
Whenever you tense up or make a noise, a gasp, of displeasure, his arm is immediately around you, whispering loving reassurances into your hair and making sure that no harm would come your way
Against an enemy attack? Hell, seeing you there spurs his protective instincts on even more to keep you safe; anyone foolish enough to challenge Sanji by threatening his dear lover would end up fillet, battered, and fried without a second thought
At the same time, though, he does feel for you - there was a time where Sanji couldn’t protect himself, let alone anyone else, so he’s determined to use his strength now to do just that
You’re his lover, the light of his life, his everything, Sanji would sooner give up his dreams than let anything bad happen to you (you chastise him about this, but his mind is made up)
Although, he would ask for your patience and kindness when it comes to creepy crawlies, but if it’s any consolation at least you get to scream and cry together when Nami or Zoro eventually have to come into the kitchen and kill the “ghastly creature” for (the both) you
Marco
Marco is definitely the most laid back in comparison to the other two
Being on a crew like Whitebeard’s is tough, most who’ve been here would know that and discourage anyone who doesn’t have the stomach for it to find other passions, or at least a different pirate ship
But they also know that no one particularly chooses the circumstances that they’re in, especially these ones - Marco especially, so he’s patient with you, kind, in his own little ways
He’d notice you putting up a brave front, but still catch those minute flinches and leaning away from certain stimuli when you think no one’s looking
He doesn’t say anything about it, but you find his presence around you more often in these times, usually under the guise of “just wanted to be near you, yoi,” and it doesn’t take long for you to figure out what he’s doing
You’re thankful that he’s letting you save face, but unwilling to open up quite yet about it, that’s fine, Marco would give you as much space as you needed
If it came down to anything medical, though, of course he’d want to know about it to best help you but if you aren’t ready yet he won’t push - still, Marco would let you know that there’s no judgement anywhere and he’s here for you no matter what
Whenever he sees that you’re on edge, possibly from a scare that he wasn’t there for, he instinctively pulls you close, ignoring hoots and hollers from other member’s about PDA, or leads you somewhere quiet to get a breather and simply take comfort in his presence
