1. What motivates your character?

The pressing need for a safe and warm environment for children, especially in the face of disaster and tragedy.

3. Is your character an optimist or pessimist?

I think he's a realist, but he's a bit optimistic in general, because he sees the real ways things can turn out okay, and when he doesn't, he at least sees the ways he can make it not as bad as possible.

8. What are some internal obstacles that your character has to overcome?

He knows he really, really needs to talk more. Really badly. But its habitual that he doesn't, his tongue doesn't feel used to it anymore, it's not in his nature anymore... Plus, when other adults talk to him and expect a response, he shuts down. The only times he manages to talk a little is to the children, and he knows its not as much as it should be.

When he needs to talk to adults, he often writes, but it still makes him extremely anxious. He learned to write for this reason, actually.

11. What events in their past helped shape and influence them into who they are today?

Oh You Know ;)

If you asked him this question (and we ignore that he isn't a very talkative guy), his opinion is that one person shaped him almost entirely, and it's his younger brother.

His younger brother was why he learned to care for children, his younger brother was what drove him to take fishing seriously as a career and make money, the memory of his younger brother is what he sees in children that makes him care about them right away before he even knows them for themselves.

The loss of his brother had him not doing anything, and when he saw a child all alone he remembered his younger brother when he'd sit off to the side, and he knew it was like he was speaking to him, in a way, and telling him to do the thing he's best at. So he thinks his brother helped him decide to start the orphanage, too (But really, his own force of will is what helped him overcome his grief, and it was his own kindness that gave him purpose)

Also, obviously, he hates to admit the influence its had on him, but the encounter with pirates as a child where he lost his tail (and his voice, in a way) had a huge influence on who he is. He still fights against that trauma today every time he speaks.

13. Who is the closest person to your character?

His brother, for his whole life. Now that he's gone, I'm not sure. I assume someone else must work at the orphanage as an adult, and he's probably at least a little close with them, but he's very close with all the kids, and his inability to talk to other adults At All (He just can't make himself do it - He will want to, he will open his mouth, he will move his tongue, no sound will come out, and its very frustrating for him. It's driven him to tears before.) means he doesn't have very many close friendships emotionally.

15. What habits does your character have?

He watches around the floor and his feet when hes walking anywhere because he doesn't want to step on children, lol. He's not even that tall (although he's on the tall side for an ecaflip).

When he holds anything, he does the little bouncing with his body (I don't know how to describe it. It's the same motion you do to soothe a baby.)

Also, he likes to quietly watch the sunset. Usually the kids don't let it stay quiet though.

22. What regrets do they have, if any? (From any part of the story, not just exposition.)

He has plenty about where he was when the wave happened, but he knows that they're not reasonable (He survived because he was on a fishing boat, and his brother just would not have been there under any circumstances, no matter how much he thinks about "well maybe I could have..."

He sometimes has regrets about how he handles things the children need. He can always do better. He tries to apologize by doing something nice for them if he thinks he did the wrong thing, but he's never been mean to any of them, so they usually just think he's trying to cheer them up because they were sad earlier.

He regrets when he and his brother were kids and he said he wished he was an only child (I don't think his brother even remembered this as an adult, but it haunts Siamont), and he regrets a time he left a younger child for an hour when he was 11 years old and came back to the child crying because they thought he wasn't coming back. Lots of little things like that.

28. What emotion is the most unfamiliar to your character and how do they deal with it?

Anger doesn't come easily to him, but it takes him over. When it's at an adult, he usually just lets himself react with that anger and show it with his body. When it's at a child, he notices it and leaves the situation, then comes back when he's calmed down (so the children are most afraid of when he Looks A Little Angry, Then Leaves, even though he never does anything with it. They get the right response to fix what they did every time. It's just how the kids know they really messed up)

29. What are the three things that your character values most?

The children's safety, their emotional wellbeing, and his memories of his brother.

34. What are three negative traits that your character has?

Silence, letting his anger take hold of him when he thinks its justified (He has killed. many pirates in this state, when he probably didn't need to kill every single one of them on the ship and could have let them flee), and thinking he can take on everything on his own

44. What does your character fear?

Losing anyone else. Also, in general, rogues trigger bad memories for him, and he's way more likely to fight someone if they're a rogue.

49. In the end, what is your character grateful for?

The children, their safety, their joy, their play, their creativity, their...

Well, a lot of things about his kids.

His memories of his brother, and his memories of Sufokia as it was and the people he's lost. They hurt, but he holds them tight to his chest.

The luck of the sea (The sea is where luck comes from, in his eyes - Fish, driftwood, seaweed, he's even grateful, sometimes, after he's handled the rogues on board, for the pirate ships, because he takes what they need from it (including, usually, a lot of the clothes from the pirates that he fixes to fit the kids, and their sails and some of the wood from their ship and their food and... everything.) before setting it ablaze and sending it off. )

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

70 total, but 5 of those are chara's! so under my name its 65.

2. What’s your total word count?

1,427,738.....

cannot wait to break 2 million w the owl house daemon au. lets go!! never stop!!!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

whatever i'm into, but for fandoms i see myself continuing to write for in the near-ish future: deltarune and the owl house!

4. Top 5 fics by kudos

you're something special: my first kris-identity fic! i have mixed feelings on this one lol. you can tell its the first i wrote and i hadnt yet solidified my version of kris, tho i think this one probably fits better with canon. overall i like it though!

but then a bigger heart grew back: ooooooh i REALLY love this one. its postcanon owl house fic centering on hunter's grief over flapjack's death and his friendship with waffles!!! i wrote and posted it the DAY after the finale came out which is still really wild to me. its also the only fic ive seen that uses my favorite headcanon of 'hunter didnt carve waffles, she found him' which im so so fond of.

i hope your organs fail you (before i do): this was the first deltarune fic i wrote after chapter 2 came out!! the beginning of my deltarune spiral....its sort of a messy non-chronological look at deltarune's various routes and how kris might experiencing the game's multiple save files. also it has such a banger title. salt lake city by motherfolk is just banger after banger lyrics-wise

non-imaginary friends: god i hate that this is up here dkgjdfg i wrote it back when deltarune first came out and it SHOWS. i refuse to reread it but i think it's kris trying and failing to introduce the dark worlds to asriel. c'mon guys ive written so many better deltarune fics. blease. let this one rest in the past <3

we don't belong (but we're together): oooh, a warrior cats one! im....i mean, this one is like, fine, i guess. it follows hollyleaf and jayfeather in an au where the two of them flee through the tunnels. it has fun lore and i do like my oc pine but. man. its also the fic where i gave hollyleaf a power and if theres one thing i would change about my warriors au its that holly would NOT get a power. this is why i pre-write all my fics before posting now!

5. Do you respond to comments?

yes!! or at least i try my best to. i love and appreciate all my comments sometimes im just Bad at responding to them....i never know what to say beyond 'wow thank you' so sometimes i try to focus more on comments where i can actually say something of substance, yknow?

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

oh thats hard hmmmmmmm. i think i'd have to say it's and i want to tell you something-- which is a fic about kris & ralsei & the player/soul, where susie and noelle try to save kris from the soul, but both kris and ralsei know they cant survive without it. so in the end kris shatters the soul and is implied to die rather than keep being trapped.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

hmmmm. i think most of my ending are pretty bittersweet so in terms of pure happy ending...gonna go for a deep cut here and say its my naddpod fic +1 dad in which moonshine meets lucanus when shes a kid and they hit it off and they get to have that father-daughter relationship from the start. bc lucanus is the BEST naddpod npc and oh my god he loves his daughter so so much you guys--

8. Do you get hate on fics?

i have a few times but its never been like, super major. the funniest time is. i deleted the comment so i dont have the exact wording but im pretty sure someone called me a fandom-deserting cur for. not writing more warrior cat fanfiction?

9. Do you write smut?

no im very aroace lol. i barely write romance.

10. Do you write crossovers?

i used to!!! i did the adventure zone crossed with both how to train your dragon and pokemon mystery dungeon: explorers of sky. i was a different person back then. i dont think i'd do it now, but. who knows.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

not to my knowledge!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

no, but i HAVE had a fic pod-ficced which is still so amazing. like......woag. someone liked my fic enough to read the words out loud?????? huh????

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

not exactly co-written but both sometimes i think i left you just to see if i'd be missed and a buy one, get one free sort of friend were inspired by conversations i had with my friend @hyperfixations-go-brr! they would not have existed without those long discord chats. halloween festival will live on forever. synth my love.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

im not super into ships beyond like. basic 'oh thats fun' when reading but i WILL actually give the two im the most excited to write in my dess raises kris au someday:

noelle/susie/ralsei: YOU HAVE TO TRUST ME. like. this is an au where noelle basically replaces kris in the fun gang but not in the prophecy and dkjgdfg its about. this budding relationship. and ralsei clinging to the prophecy that doesnt want noelle here and susie who bucks against anything that acts like it knows what shes supposed to do and noelle struggling with the return of her sister and a world that wants to write her out of the story and all of them wanting to be there for their friends but ralsei is dealing with so so much and in the end she gets to throw off her chains and be free <3 noelle/susie/ralsei is so real in my heart.

dess/chara: literally the funniest queerplatonic relationship ever. theyre reluctant coparents. dess trusts chara with kris's life. chara would never ever let dess watch either frisk OR kris unsupervised. chara is 'i can fix you' to dess's 'im literally the most perfect wife in the world.' dess doesn't believe romantic love is a real thing people feel. chara puts xir kids above everything else. dess never asked to be a mother even though she literally kidnapped her best friends baby sibling. they get married for the tax benefits. they should absolutely get a divorce.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

oh god theres so many i would love to finish but its been so long i doubt i'll go back to them lol. the sequel to +1 dad that involves baby moonshine going to gladeholm. wall-e daemon au. gravity falls transcedence au daemon au. percy jackson daemon au. deltarune daemon au fangame.

as you can see its mostly various daemon aus. they were fun while they lasted! but ive moved on </3

16. What are your writing strengths?

pov you are me suddenly forgetting every single thing i have ever written.

i think im very good at writing otherkin or otherwise nonhuman characters. the comments that always bring me the most joy are those on my otherkin fics, by people who were able to see themselves in what i wrote--i think this is a thing that took me a lot of failed attempts to get just right and im really really proud of what i have.

im very good at writing daemon aus <3 there is sort of. an art to figuring out if one a work even needs daemons and two how daemons enhance or add to some aspect of the original work. theres a lot of things i like that i dont think really work with daemons but i always really enjoy figuring out how to add daemons and how to make my daemons like, characters in their own right, you know?

i like to think im good at dialogue and characterization! theres a few characters--kris and the collector, firefly to an extent--that im really proud of the voices i've made for them.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

fight scenes. fight scenes. oh my god i hate them so much they are SO HARD. stop making me put!! visual things!! in my text based medium!!!

really any scene that relies on having a strong idea of like, physical descriptions and sense of a place--i have aphantasia so having to describe scenery and landscape and just, anything really is always a struggle for me.

i also struggle with pacing, to an extent, especially across longer works (im looking at you, owl house daemon au)--knowing how long a plot arc needs to last and how to make it interesting still even when its going to be around for 600k+ words is a challenge and if the owl house daemon au was my first massive fic undertaking i dont think i'd be able to do it.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

god im so bad at it but i really really am trying to be better--one big thing im going to focus on in my owl house daemon au edit is based on this because i want luz's identity to stick with her throughout the fic rather than it taking a backseat, but i am not a spanish speaker!! i know like, a LITTLE, but nowhere near enough to feel confident writing it.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

warrior cats. and beyond just 'oh its the first fandom i posted fic for' no i was writing warrior cat fanfiction from the START. i was out there on the playground coming up with warrior cat ocs. i was printing this stuff out in the school library. i would hand-write fanfiction about my childhood cats becoming warrior cats and starting their own clan. i would roleplay warrior cats on my bedroom floor with pictures of cats i cut out of printer paper and bits of plastic folders i folded into triangles and write down the stories i came up with.

i was the most warrior cat kid to warrior cat kid. I Have Always Been This Way.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

ohhhhhh this is SUCH a tough question i have so many im so fond of, but i think i'm going to have to go with alterhuman. it's an animorphs fic about tobias post-canon and its an exploration of species identity and being a hawk and as a red-tailed hawk myself, a lot of it is deeply personal, a lot of it is my love letter to animorphs, and a lot of it is neffit, who is the best oc i have ever created, hands down.

as for tags, uh....anybody who wants to talk about their fics! even if we dont know each other!! go forth! ramble on about your own stuff for an hour!! truly so so fun.

ok. once again Please Excuse Old Art but this is the main character. her name is andromeda. mix of a lung dragon/western dragon shes pathetic or smthn like that and also ran away from home with her bestie calico lol

this is bit. thats not his full name but i never thought of a full name. begrudgingly takes care of andromeda and calico because SOMEBODY had to do it. didnt sign up for anything that happens in the story and is very confused and disgruntled. hes just a western dragon lol

AXI. hes a drake and also bestest friends with this bitch named rift (they are like the side characters) (also known as weird uncles) (except theyre both nb) this mf probably climbs on counters and accidentally knocks shit over i bet

this art is from my friend nyx! shes not on here but i asked and she said i could use it lol. this is rift, i didnt really have and specific types of dragon in mind while designing them they just exist, theyre friends with axi and like the cool uncle that buys you mcdonalds. sometimes dragons are born with cool magic things and rift is one of them, hence the floating limbs. theyre purple

calico is an amphithere (winged serpent) mostly but she has arms ! shes a light brown with dark brown patches EXCEPT on the OTHER SIDE shes a dark brown with light brown patches. she is so annoying to draw. she has dark fur running down her back and has 2 different kinds of wings (light brown side is feathered dark brown side is membrane)

shes besties with andromeda !! gave her the necklace you see in andros design,pretty cool 👍

lets see uhmm. sagittarius. sagi is like. ok shes a bit weird bc i havent properly thought her out bc her original character way back when was kinda just the "evil alter" stereotype and i had to change that for. obvious reasons SKDNDKDB but shes. something like a demon possessing andromeda. think of like andromeda but red and with another pair of wings and also spikes on her tail. and bigger horns i forgot about that part yeag. shes mean calico and rift really dont ike her especially shes the main villian

You ever grab a digimon side character and be like "IM GOING TO TREAT YOU LIKE AN OC... NOW BECOME DEVELOPED"

Sometimes! I think I have built my own impression of Willis/Wallace from the many years I've spent thinking about him (for better or for worse), but he's a struggle to flesh out because he's so... intentionally enigmatic and different depending on which source material you're using, rotfl.

I do have some headcanons/ideas I've wanted to expand on for the sake of character development in fanfic regarding the following minor characters (but sadly have very little fanfic to show for it).

(This got kind of long, under the cut to spare your dash):

(The Fuji TV crew! Mainly the two on the right, Sakurada and Chioka--although Yuki and Hiroaki play a small role in the snippets about the other two I've written. Spoiler alert: these two guys get digimon partners in the end!)

(Maki and Daigo! I have been writing a fic that shows select moments of backstory/Tri from Maki's perspective, but its been stalled for a while. ERGH!)

(THIS L-corp scientist! How exactly did we get here, L-corp scientist?? You might actually be the most important living* adult in Appmon, you deserve a real name and a backstory and BOY do I have THOUGHTS on THAT!)**

* “living” meaning “not assumed to be dead” for a significant portion of the series.

** Please watch Appmon ;D

But then again, I'm just as likely to take a minor character and give them something to do for the sake of continuing the development of a MAJOR character, or exaggerate their traits/take them to the next logical extreme for a quick laugh (i.e. dumb comics and sketches). This has resulted in:

Cody's grandpa Chikara and old!Gennai bonding over a shared love of prune juice;

Mr. Fujiyama being single and Actually Clueless when it comes to giving advice about romance and dating (and asking Nancy Takaishi on a date anyway, to TK's horror);

TK's grandpa Michel giving Tai advice on his love life;

Davis becoming CONVINCED that Jun is using some sort of black magic/love potion on Matt and Tai, because they have been spending Way Too Much Time Together for No Reason He Can See (hijinks sibling warfare ensues);

Izzy & Ms. Kamiya do more baking together (post Digimon Movie). Izzy is a bit thunderstruck by what she considers "following a recipe" (bizarre substitutions and food combinations that would make 1950’s-era instant food corporations proud), but they have fun and eventually make something edible (to Tai's relief). Now that I think about it, she and Mimi would really hit it off!

(Writing this, I realized I have a lot of ideas about the American English dub versions of the minor characters, particularly the adults, because they are so cartoony/embellished themselves! One of the great things about the dub IMO is it gave them a lot of personality and character traits, which are ultimately a good match for my sense of humor. Also I am Old and like to see the adults do things and go on their own adventures, lol).

I don't believe that any of my interpretations or the situations I would be likely to put these characters in are particularly original or unique to the point of seeming like OCs to me (mmmmmaybe L-corp scientist a little, because there's almost nothing about her in canon and fan mentions tend to be very brief/divided, but I have Many Thoughts about how, exactly, we got there). Ultimately, I tend to be of the opinion that characters exist for the purpose of telling stories, and therefore I end up only developing headcanons or engaging in minor-character character development when it seems appropriate for whatever story I'm trying to tell (which makes individual characters somewhat subject to change from story to story, although I strive for SOME consistency between individual works because I'm particular about that sometimes!). But I DO really enjoy seeing other people's headcanons and stories, particularly since we don't have a lot of in-universe information about these minor characters. Having that much room for interpretation is really fun!

(Jyou/Bike Girl is still one of my favorite minor character ships, even though we as a fandom know NOTHING about her :))

bestie i NEED u to tell me about ur ocs u keep rbing these tag posts and im getting soooooo curious

i have an askblog for them over at @ask-kaiyo-crew! the focus is on akia and ruby currently, since there's an event going on (basically a bunch of askblogs gathering together into one place and interacting), but i actually have a plot idea in mind for them that i'll get to eventually (hopefully)

i could also just gush about them under a readmore. actually i think i will do that since the askblog doesn't really give a good idea of who they are off the bat lol

to start off, this is kaiyo. yes i name my eeveelutions by translating words into japanese. yes i chose the word for ocean for a vaporeon and didn't even write it properly (it's supposed to be kaiyō or kaiyou but still pronounced like kaiyo. langwidge <3)

originally he was my fursona but he's changed a lot since then, and now he's essentially a himbo protagonist guy (main personality inspiration is rex from xenoblade chronicles 2)

he's got the broad of chest, pure of heart, and dumb of ass, but also he's determined and loyal, tries to be responsible, and also has the social skills of the other 3 combined. so still nothing too spectacular but at least decent at it

next up is yugure (also spelled wrong technically, supposed to be yūgure or yuugure but oh well)! they're a little bit theatre kid, a little bit tumblrina (gender neutral), a little bit mentally ill, the works. he also has a crush on kaiyo and i'm currently trying to decide whether or not to have it be reciprocated

next up is akia. beloved rat. living beanie baby. as many artists tend to do with small cute things i left her my inheritance of being sad /hj

she used to be a poor sad little meow meow (pika pika?) until ruby came along and taught her the importance of violence. she is still a poor sad little meow meow but also one with the capacity to kill

and finally ruby! the oldest of the crew, both in terms of in-universe age and time created. she's slow to trust and can sometimes be cold to strangers, but to people she's close with she's very affectionate

she's the one with the Tragic Backstory(tm), which left her with no parents and a deep distrust of ditto. also her and akia are together

Hey I love your fics and writing style and well since I've been meaning to start writing fics I wanted to ask you if you have some advice you'd give.

Ohhh advice? Sure, I can do that! I shall bestow all of my knowledge upon you now, but you gotta look below the cut. Shhhh, it's a secret~

Okay really I just knew this was going to be a really long post and didn't want to clog up everyone's dash lol. ONTO WRITING ADVICE

I kind of live by these rules in writing:

1. Know the rules before you break them 2. ANYTHING can be inspiration 3. Remember the doll 4. Use your resources 5. Don’t hold yourself back 6. Practice 7. Enjoy yourself!!

1. Know the rules before you break them

Pay attention in English class (or whichever class for the language you're writing in) and learn the grammar!! I don't always have perfect grammar in my fics and sometimes I consciously choose to ignore grammar rules to make it more impactful, but you HAVE to know the rules before you break them. Study those grammar lessons! Learn how to use the fun punctuation, like semi colons and em dashes and en dashes and all that good stuff. I know they're scary, but they're a lot of fun too.

ALSO PLEASE USE PARAGRAPH BREAKS IM BEGGING that's like, a HUGE problem I see with a lot of new writers. Paragraph breaks are not optional!! Change 'em when the main topic of the paragraph switches or when a new character is speaking. Overdoing it with paragraph breaks is better than underdoing it, I promise.

2. ANYTHING can be inspiration

Have you ever played Story Cubes?

If you haven’t, it’s essentially this game where you roll the cubes, they each land on a different image, and you gotta tell a story that uses all of those pictures. Some are literally just a question mark or a speech bubble and that’s what you have to use. Me and my siblings used to play the game a lot. And you know what? Some of those stories are the most creative ones we’ve ever come up with. When I say anything can be inspiration for a story or a character, I mean ANYTHING!

I based my Donnie design off of the vintage globes and journals I have in my bedroom.

My little sister threw a pillow at me and it inspired a funny scene I wanted to write in another fic

I designed two OCs off of Mars and Pluto and an ENTIRE 40,000 word fanfiction based off of a space documentary I watched

My NaNoWriMo story last year was based off of the concept of shadows and how cool I thought it’d be if they could talk

Me and my friend made an entire dystopian original story commenting on our world today. It was first inspired by a crack self insert Death Note RP we had at 13 years old. Not kidding.

Literally anything can be inspiration. Challenge your mind!! The best ideas come out of completely ordinary and unexpected opportunities, in my experience. You don’t need one of those super detailed and crazy expensive prompt books (though they are fun) to write a great story. Use music, use a color, use the sky, use your favorite food, use anything! Just find inspiration!

3. Remember the Doll

Remember Mulan?

We never got to see the Huns destroy the village and we didn’t get to see them kill anyone there either. But by showing that doll there, the animators took an entire battle full of death and destruction and summed it all up in one, heartbreaking moment. You don’t need to spend ten pages writing about how horrifying the bad guy was and listing everything he did from start to finish, nor do you need to write an analysis on why she’s bad. All you need to do is show one or two very meaningful ways they impacted the world... and you can do that with something as simple as a doll lying on the ground in a burning village.

Because the doll is there; the little girl is not.

There’s a quote that sums this up really well, and I have it written on the dry erase board by my desk.

“You don't write about the horrors of war. No. You write about a kid's burnt socks lying in the road.” - Richard Price

And adding onto that, try to write more about what’s there, not what isn’t. Mulan didn’t say ANYTHING about the girl in that scene, but by showing what was there, it told us a story about what wasn’t. Focus on what is in the scene and it will tell your reader about what isn’t.

I do think writing a balance is good though, so I try and keep it around a 3/1 ratio of what is there vs what isn’t. Remember this is art though, not math; you can change the formula as you please just to make it feel right. It all depends on the scene and what you want.

4. Use Your Resources

You know how, in the artist community, there’s this sort of stigma around using references? And some artists have to make posts reminding others that there’s nothing wrong with using references and you even should use them?

It’s the same concept in writing!

There is NOTHING wrong with looking to other writers’ work or keep a thesaurus constantly open or bookmarking a reference page of other words to use than “said”. Nothing wrong with it at all! When I write, I always have two tabs open: my writing document and thesaurus.com. I have a folder on my computer bookmarks of ways to describe a smile and a body language dictionary. Before I write fanfic, I watch a “best moments of *character*” compilation video on Youtube to remind myself of how they speak. I watch fight scenes from The 100 or Avatar or Marvel while I write my own battles!

There are SO MANY resources out there for you to reference. Use them! And if you need some to start with, shoot me an ask. I have a ton.

5. Don’t Hold Yourself Back

One of the scariest parts of writing is the thought of “what will people think?” Creative writing is EXTREMELY personal, and you’re going to find a lot of you inside your work, including the thoughts you didn’t want anyone to know about.

People will discover how often you think about love. People will discover how dark your mind can get. People will discover the morals you hold that even you didn’t know about. They’ll discover that the person you swore you’ve moved on from is still on your mind. They’ll discover that the pain you swore you got over still hurts you.

This thought scared me a lot, and still does. I’ve let go of and forgotten about so many story ideas because they were just a little too personal. I could write it and not publish it, but what if someone still sees? Writing, like all art, comes right from the heart and reveals a lot about a person. That paranoia of being known kept me from writing so much.

But I promise you, your most powerful stories are going to be the most personal ones.

I wrote Hated Resemblance based on my thoughts about myself, and I wrote Dagger From the Mirror based on thoughts about myself too. A lot of it is dark, most is painful, and all of it is scary to show the world. But I wrote it anyways and it’s created something pretty amazing.

Hell, even now I’m wondering if I should post that lil anecdote, but I think it’s the best way to make this part of my point stronger. See? Writing about things that affect you is the best way to make them impactful, even for something as simple as advice.

And even if you want to write about light and happy stories- you’re still going to have to get personal.

This all got pretty deep but my point is this: Don’t hold yourself back. Write what you feel you need to and it don’t worry about what anyone will think. Don’t hide that one sentence because you’re scared who will read it because you’re scared to be known so deeply. Add it in even when it’s scary.

That’s something I’m still learning how to do, and it’s a slow process that has taken years... but it’s worth it, I promise.

6. Practice

I started writing in 1st grade. I’ve written regularly since then, and this is my word count every month this year:

Most of that is fanfiction. Some are just random thoughts, some are really thought out posts or answers to your questions, and some are made up of original stories. That total words written number is since November.

You don’t have to write this much every month, I promise, I just don’t really have any other hobbies lol. My point is that practice is really really really important. Write a paragraph or even just a sentence every day. You’re gonna improve so quickly, I promise.

“Write every day. Writing is a muscle that gets stronger with use.” - Abbi Glines

But take breaks too!!! Don’t overwork yourself. Burn out is a real thing and you shouldn’t force yourself to write just because you’re scared you don’t write enough! Write at a pace that’s comfortable for you. There will always be writers out there who write more than you and even more writers who write less than you. That’s okay. Everyone has a pace they’re comfortable with, and you just gotta find yours. As long as you’re writing consistently, the numbers don’t matter too much. 50 words a day or 5000 are both good!

7. Enjoy Yourself!!

You’re here to have fun!

No matter what you’re writing (angst, romance, fix-it, AUs, hurt/comfort, fluff, ANYTHING), remember that fic writing is supposed to be fun!! You’re not getting paid to do this. On one hand, that sucks, but on the other hand it gives you the amazing opportunity to write literally whatever you want! Find projects you’re enthusiastic about, meet other writers, do collabs, make playlists for your story, create over powered OCs for the hell of it, ignore plot holes and write without regard to canon, or write the most realistic and in-depth canon-compliant book ever. Create the most self indulgent story you can think of!

Have fun. This is your story and you get to write the rules. Don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. Be proud of yourself. You can get all of the comments and feedback in the world, but if you’re not proud of what you wrote, it’s gonna be hard to look back on it with joy. Be proud no matter how many reads it gets—you made it!

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

He struggles massively with dread and loneliness… Or maybe helplessness, primarily! His situation has left him feeling powerless every single day. He can’t cope with it very well and it routinely makes him upset to think about for too long. He hates that he feels like he has no control, but at the same time, he doesn’t really know what to do about it! :(

👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?

AH THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION! Since they’re not usually visible in his design hehe His eyes are normally dark brown, almost black!!! But when he’s feeling really really intense emotions, they get completely white. Sometimes they glow a little! That’s only partially why he wears the glasses. To hide his eyes if they start glowing like that LOL But mostly, he just thinks they look cool LMAOO.

💐 BOUQUET - create a bouqet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?

I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT FLOWER MEANINGS SO I had to look some of these up!! In order: Red columbine can be used to symbolize passion and energy but also anxieties or the quality of trembling with anxiety. Heliotropes symbolize eternal love and devotion (in his case, LITERALLY eternal LOL). Red chrysanthemum is usually just simply a symbol of love. Begonias symbolize caution or a need for caution. Can also mean uniqueness or gratitude. Pink carnations symbolize gratitude and never forgetting someone. Red carnations convey aching in longing, pain from yearning so much (“my heart aches for you”). Baptist isn’t a huge flower guy, he doesn’t know much about them, but his favorite flower probably isn’t any of the ones listed here. He likes belladonna a lot!

🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE - when is their birthday? do they like celebrating it?

October 10th! He does like to get together with friends to celebrate! But he feels kind of awkward because he can’t have cake or any food at all. Sometimes he can tolerate watching his friends eat in front of him, but if he’s getting too close to the cannibalism cycle repeating again, he has to call it all off and spend his birthday alone to reduce the risk of hurting anyone he loves. He has kind of lost track of how old he’s supposed to be. He doesn’t like thinking about it, but he does like the idea of having a special day to celebrate for himself!

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Most times, when I’m writing and designing a new character, the inspiration comes suddenly! For him, it was no different! In fact, I’ve found that the characters that I like the most are ones that randomly popped into my head. It usually happens right before I fall asleep, I can literally see the character in my mind. And I immediately sit up and draw it LOL So I don’t lose the idea. Then I revisit it and refine it later! The first concept I decided about him was actually the ridiculous way he eats people, by slitting his abdomen open and having to physically pull them into him. I liked the idea of the hunger becoming so great that the pain caused to relieve the craving no longer matters, thus the ceremonious bisection of his stomach. And then the hunger being satisfied only for as long as the wound is still in the process of healing. I’ve always loved the theme of longing in the form of hunger or love in the form of consumption. Baptist just takes those themes and personifies them!! And he also kind of personifies my fears of being stuck in a cycle of self-destruction but being too scared of the unknown to leave it. OMG I’m sorry LIFDKEBDNF GOING OFF ON A PSYCHOANALYSIS RANT LMAO.

OK so today you get to learn about SOME GUYS from my story idea im callin Fear Corp rn . it's basically New Story that i'm taking all my lobocorp oc's and putting them into their new thing . general plot is that "This was a regular dumb office job where they process data in general about "what people are afraid of" . This is pretty valuable data considering people will Want it (lets say, if you want to make a horror game, you will want 2 know what people think is Very Scary, and not "lol stupid"...) But then shit gets bad LOL

Here is 4 guys they are all on the same Office Team. (Minmax uses any pronouns, Gabriella uses they/she/he, Eva uses she/he, Pippy uses they/them)

basically everyone in the corporation 'becomes' a 'fear'. so like fear of bodyhorror -> now this person can get lots of limbs and fucked up meat etc etc (You know poggers? their name is pippy now. this is them now.) . in fact pippy starts killing people and the office goes to shit as also everyone is slowly turning into a weird fucked up thing ! wuhoh.

EVA is the protagonist of the story . this is a video game btw. please imagine it as such. Eva is a very tired and didnt really like her coworkers in the first place so when shit hits the fan he's already very. tired.

And as everything goes to shit no matter how "WTF MAN! DUDE! WHAT THE FUCK! " Eva gets he will still be the first person to go out to explore the other office levels to check for survivors + to gather info on WTF just happened and why everyone is turning into shit now! Eva, has a heart of gold really, but she tries to be tough because well thats just how she is. But man he gets. so sick of it all sometimes.

ALSO: Eva thinks her power is 'slime', because whenever she gets hurt some 'weird slime' comes out. It's not slime. Eva's power is being the protagonist of a video game and being controlled, so "where there is a will, there's a way" (meaning, if the game will Want this to happen, it Will (example -> aw man i need a crowbar 2 open thing -> there will be a crowbar somewhere.) ) Anyways the 'slime' is literally just unrendered chunks of Eva coming out of her because the Player's will continues her to go forth even when his body literally cant handle it anymore but it doesnt really hurt or anything it's justkind of a Feature. anyways.

MINMAX is a very fun guy it's very jokester and then when things gets bad xe's like "OH. UH OH. NOT GOOD. (makes somejokes anyways)" <- but out of The rest of Eva's team, eva finds minmax the most bearable coz they CAN be serious and do have like. solid takes and ideas.

ALSO. minmax wears a cloth/bandage over their face because they got badly wounded there and... something started coming out. some Eldritch sort of shit that makes people lose their mind when they see it. so he has to cover it up. ...he can see fine out of it. .....tries not to think about that too much.

GABRIELLA is always "OH NO :( :( :( UH OH!!!! " all the time and is kind of freaking out. They are the youngest of this group. She just wanted everyone to get along and really though the rest of the team got along with eachother . but um. wuhoh.

ALSO: gabriella is a fuunny fungus

PIPPY is GOING THROUGH IT. The day all of this goes down, in the morning they did take someone's car and crash it into the building. Hope this helps.

ALSO: pippy's oldname was poggers. u might've seen this guy around before.

BTW i want to state. just because ppl Turn Into smthing doesnt mean they Turn Evil. like. a number of people are just normal about being a weird monster thing now. pippy (and a few others) are just. like that.

hello! so I think we all know that sometimes we don’t appreciate writers as much as we should here on tumblr. they are amazing people that write some wonderful stories for us (for free) and they put a lot of time and effort into doing so. to honor that, each month, I’m going to be posting a fic rec list with a whole bunch of stories I have recently read and loved, and that I want to share with you all. and if you find some you like? let that author know their work is appreciated!! (let’s all support authors more!)

Bucky Barnes x Reader

Hold My Girl by @captain-ariel-barnes - this one HURTS let me just tell you. it is absolutely beautiful and does a wonderful job at not only portraying bucky, but also the feeling that I'm sure a lot of couples who were split up because of wwii felt. like I said this story is amazing but it left me crying and my heart hurting - in the best way possible!

Soft by @chillingbucky - oh my goodness did this story hit home for me. for the most part, I’ve been pretty confident with my body but also have wanted to change to boost that confidence even more and then felt worse when I didn’t stick through with my new plan.this story perfectly encapsulates those feelings and it nearly brought me to tears over how incredible bucky was at comforting the reader. when I read this it was the first story I read that day and it put me in such a great mindset!!

Lifelong Love Song Series by @suz-123 - even though this is not a bucky x reader (it’s an oc), this story is beautiful and the way it portrays bucky just feels so right and so spot on. there is fluff, angst, hurt, comfort, love, everything in this story. you should definitely read this series!

The House by @softlybarnes - ahhhh!! that is what I have to say for this story because it is so darn cute! bucky just makes me swoon (as always) and there is a great relationship between him and the reader! also, now I really want to fall in love and buy a fixer-upper house with the guy I marry. overall, if you want something fluffy that is extremely well written, this is one of those stories.

Truth Hurts by @ussgallifreyfics - this story is so different than other fics that tackle this same topic, but it the best way possible! the beginning hurts, but slowly bucky starts to come into the story and it is so sweet. not only that, but there is a lot of power from within the reader, which is AWESOME! heck yeah we can rescue ourselves (but if Bucky wants to help as well, I won’t be mad lol)

Lemon Pie Series by @nacho-bucky - I have reread this series like three times already, and it is just perfection! not only do we get 40′s bucky, but we get a HAPPY BUCKY WHO SURVIVES THE WAR AND GETS TO START A FAMILY! Each chapter/snippet is just so beautifully written, and I get pulled into the story each and ever time. bucky just makes me want to swoon, and if I don’t find someone who treats me the way bucky treats the reader in this series, I do not what I will do. but, this and all cait’s stories are amazing so please go read this, it will make your day!

Thomas Shelby x Reader

If Only You Knew by @im-not-looking-for-forgiveness - while this is technically a tommy x reader story, it really focuses on the friendship between the reader and lizzie stark, which I absolutely loved! it is such a healthy change to see lizzie portrayed in a nice way instead of a bitch as she often is written in stories. we love girls supporting girls, which is this story!

My Dear Charlie by @kadwrites -again, another story that is technically tommy x reader, but focuses on a different relationship, and this time it is between the reader and charlie! what I love about this story is, it highlights the love that one can feel for a child that isn’t biologically theirs, which is just a reminder of how important it is to show our love to others and to demonstrate our appreciation to those who do love us. also, I love that this story focuses on an older charlie, which is something I haven’t really seen yet.

Matches by @rhxegals - now this one really does focus on tommy and the reader, and I adore it! we get to see the reader confront tommy and I love when the reader is his equal in the sense that neither of them stand for being lied to or being left out of things. not only that, but we also see a more vulnerable side of tommy, and we get to understand his protective side a bit more which I am also a fan of!

this drabble by @connerkennt - it is short and sweet but powerful! it really shows (again) how protective tommy is over those he loves and I adore protective tommy! (alfie also plays a role in this drabble, which is always a plus!)

John Shelby x Reader

Something Unexplained by @justauthoring - man do I love john shelby, and if you do too, this is the story for you. just the way that olivia describes how john loves the reader makes my heart absolutely gush! I don’t want to spoil anything, so you just have to read it! (and there are so many other wonderful stories on this blog to check out after you finish this one!)

Steve Rogers x Reader

Beauty and the Beast AU by @kayteewritessteve - I am so so glad I found this story when I did so that I can include it on this list! au’s are some of my favorite stories to read/write, and the fact that this is beauty and the beast and mob!steve is absolutely amazing!! kaytee does such a wonderful job with drawing you into the story and really making you feel the power and emotions of the scene! only the first few chapters are up now, but they are great!

Peter Parker x Reader

Moving On by @midtownpetey - my goodness, this one really hits right in the feels! I was tearing up throughout this entire story, because it is so beautifully written and really highlights the process of moving on when losing a loved one. it is not a graphic story, but the healing aspect, learning to move on when you feel like you can’t, that’s really what got me!

Harry Potter x Reader

Under the Stars by @lvmosity - this story is just pure fluff and it’s an actually harry potter story, which I feel like is so rare here on tumblr. anyway, I love how it’s just the reader and the golden trio worried about getting dates for the yule ball! there’s no underlying threat, just teens being teens, and harry being adorably awkward!

Scott Lang x Reader

Blue Dresses and Daises by @mypassionsarenysins - I just want to take this moment to appreciate the heck out of this story because it is absolutely amazing! not only is it a scott lang story (who is severely underappreciated! which why? he’s a dork and it’s paul rudd!) but this story is just filled with so much love that it makes me so happy and smiley. definitely a good one if you’re feeling down or you just want something extra fluffy!

Bonnie Gold x Reader

Ring Girl by @blinder-secrets - okay so I recently just got into bonnie gold stories, and man am I glad I did because this one is wonderful! bonnie is just so cute but he is also so protective over the reader, and it makes my heart swell! I love when you can feel how intense a relationship is through writing, and that’s what this is.

Roger Taylor x Reader

Hold Me Close Before I Go by @queenrogah - sobbing, just pure sobbing! well first of all, this story is slightly inspired by the song ‘so close’ from enchanted and I LOVE that song, so I was hooked from the beginning. but this story is very angsty but also mixes together so beautiful to tell this story of lost love between roger and the reader. it combines the past and the present so well, that truly tugs at your heartstrings for an emotional roller-coaster that is so worth it!

Long Distance by @dreamer821 - alright this is super long, but I promise it is so worth reading!! from the beginning, I was hooked and I got to witness this amazing story and all the love there is between roger and the reader. there is a bit of smut in this story, but the whole story really goes to show how powerful love is even when two people aren’t always near each other. it’s one of those stories that can restore your faith in love!

Laurie Laurence x Reader

Lost Love by @lotsoffandomimagines - ever since I saw little women in theaters, I have been looking for a laurie story, and this is the first one I found. oh my goodness, it is AMAZING, and I truly hope that there is a second part. but this story just draws you in and makes you fall for laurie, then comes there with that ending! I know I’m not describing this as best as I could, but trust me, the writing is beautiful and it wonderfully emotional. go read it! (also the gif of laurie is perfect!)

What I Wished I Said by @lillie-writes - do you want an angsty laurie story? well, here you go! this story is the form of the letter, and it made me tear up by the time I reached the end. it is so simple, but so heartbreaking. you can just feel how much laurie loves the reader and how much he wants to apologize, and I just wanted to find a way to hug him and comfort him. you will not be disappointed with this story!

Ransom Drysdale x Reader (Knives Out)

this drabble by @terry-perry- oh my goodness!! alright, first, I love knives out, and second, I love chris evans as ransom drysdale in that movie even though he is an asshole. however, this drabble does a wonderful job at showing a different side of ransom and how dedicated he and the reader are to their relationship!

Haunted by @et-lesailes = this is such a powerful story! now there is a trigger warning for this one so please be mindful of that but this story does a wonderful job at tackling such a difficult topic and how sometimes opening to another person can be exactly what you did. (and we also get to see more soft, non-asshole ransom which is always great!)

Anxiety: When the group separated ways (separation anxiety).

Overwhelmed: When he had to leave his senpai behind.

Self-help: He’s bad at handling internal conflicts. He usually goes to Fujita or Maria (the best). She (Fuji) doesn’t really give good advice but it calms him down.

Comforts: His friends, Fujita, and the thought of Senpai.

Philosophy: None.

Triggers: Demons. And blood.

The Past

Parents/Guardians: He grew in the streets. His memory is hazy but he remembers a woman leaving him behind at a temple. He lived at the streets for days, dehydrated and starving. He's lowkey just waiting to die at this point.

Then his senpai (He never asked for his name. He always used the honorific), who happens to be also homeless, lend him his hand and before Amida knew it, he lived with his senpai. Surviving by scavenging and stealing.

School: The streets became his teacher.

Adolescence: He grew taller, I guess. But still baby face.

Leaving home: Leaving senpai, the one who considers home, made his life feel like death. Though he is accompanied with his friends, he admits that he still lingers to the thought of his senpai.

Further education:

Life events: Amida and his senpai were attacked by a demon. In the hopes of protecting Amida, Senpai let himself be wounded. A huge tear was on his back as he and Amida ran away from the demon’s sight.

Hiding in the woods, senpai covered Amida with mud in the hopes that it would cover Amida’s scent. He then told Amida to run on his own and to leave him behind as the demon would be able to trace him no matter what. Amida was able to hug his senpai for the last time before fleeing the forest. A tearful goodbye :’[[[

Worst day of their life: When he followed senpai. He shouldn’t have left him.

Lessons: There’s no such thing as ‘dull moment’ with his senpai. Even when he left, it was still brimming with life.

The Relationships

At this time, Fujita just ran away from hers as well. Amida, on the other hand, was decaying himself. People avoided him thinking he was crazy but he couldn’t care less. He felt like it was useless anyway.

Family: Senpai is the only one closest to family. Not until he met his friends and now, he might just have his own.

Pre-events:

After leaving senpai behind, he was alone at he street for days. Not until he met someone: Fujita.

Not until Fujita lend him her hand. She offered him food and clothing as she said he was an ‘eyesore’ when in reality, he reminded her of her brother (she thinks maybe this was her brother’s state before he died).

Friendships: Fujita, Maria, and Junko.

I can’t really describe their relationship but Fujita is very much important for Amida and vice versa.

Future events:

Maria, Junko, and Fujita separated ways with different goals. Amida's goal this time is to find Senpai, to find solace, alone. But he had separation withdrawals and so, in between his trsvels, he'd visit Fujita from time to time, bringing along different items with him from places he went to as a gift for her. It's just... Fujita's the second important person for Amida. She calms her down and Amida would realize soon she is as important as senpai and he wouldn't forgive himself if he loses someone special the second time around. He asked for her hand in marriage.

Friends in need: He loves to help with the chores (cleaning, cooking, etc.) along with Maria and Junko (lmao Fujita would never).

Annoyance: When in an argument, he’s mostly silent. When you scream at him, he wouldn’t scream back. He wouldn’t speak his mind and he would just let his mind absorb the hate which is toxic of course.

I haven’t really described his relationship with Fujita but I think Amida has feelings for Fujita as her kindness (when she found him) reminded him so badly of Senpai. Though they argue and bicker all the time, he knows deep inside he would never hurt her and he’d be willing to risk his life for her.

Romance: s e n p a i. And his wife :)))

Pre-events:

Marital problems: None. They're still in the honeymoon stage of their marriage :)))

You can consider it love but I don’t think it shouldn’t be when he only likes her as she reminds him of the person he really loves.

In the long run, he finally realizes that Fujita is someone as special as senpai and the longer he knows her, the more he realizes he cares and sees her differently from senpai.

Adversaries: -

Enemies: Demons.

Strangers: He’s very confident when talking to strangers now that he met his friends. He unconsciously wants to protecc them ✨

Fun stuff: He loves it when he and the gang do nothing and they just do silly things.

Best friend: Fujita, Junko, and Maria.

Dating:

Pre event: did thought of going to places with Fujita though.

Future events: LMAO HE'S MARRIED.

Love: His senpai. And his wife :))))

Interactions

Respect: Fujita. He respects her for not hesitating to help him when she found him.

Junko. Because she was that strong to be able to accept him despite being hateful towards men.

Maria. For being patient and wise despite all the shit she's been through.

Mingling: He’s very approachable and is friends with the pillars and other slayers.

Comfort levels: Comfortable to talk to anyone.

Physical: The little physical touches Fujita give: ruffling his hair, pinching him, slapping him (during banters), pushing him, etc. HE CRAVES FOR IT P L E A S E

Group: He’s fine talking to other people outside his social group.

Jealous: Jealous of no one. He's a contented man.

Temper: Surprisingly short? He easily gets irritated with Fujita’s remarks. Or like when people hurt his friends.

Empathy: He feels for Maria, Junko, and Fujita as they all had a rough past as well.

Affectionate: Lowkey. He’d express it through harsh words and scoldings.

Distaste: When he hates someone, he tends to become very sarcastic to the point that the others would tell he’s faking it.

Responsibility: He feels like senpai’s death is his responsibility. He blames himself to this day.

Self-esteem: Sometimes, he feels like his combat skills is not enough. Because if he is really good like the others say, how come he wasn’t able to save his senpai that night?

Honesty: Not very honest. He hates deep talks.

Leader or follower: A leader alongside with Maria.

Praise: He loves his senpai’s praises. He hates Fujita’s praises because he feels like she’s just being sarcastic.

Criticism: He accepts them well.

Insults: He’s fine with other people insulting him but it’s a different scenario if it was Fujita, senpai, or his friends that you are insulting.

Embarrassment: He’s embarrassed when Fujita says something so sincere. JDBSBDHSB or when he receives compliments from Maria AND COMPLIMENTS SPECIFICALLY FROM JUNKO THO BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN OF FEW WORDS

Flirting: He can’t. Senpai’s face would flash on his mind. BUT SIKEEEEE he worked his way on Fujita without him knowing

Attention span: Very attentive!

A question for my favorite Liam!! Could you tell me a bit about the trolls you've designed yourself? What's your process like?

It kinda depends on the design, I suppose! I’ve designed 27 of my 52 active trolls! That’s not counting trolls I don’t have on my select, like Chello, Veroix, Skulux, Orcais, Kithon, Jahspr, etc etc. Of those 27, 6 are what i’d consider my Original Trolls, ones who’ve been around for years. In those six you can look and see a LOT of myself! I’m gunna put this under a readmore but I’m gunna talk, like, specifically about a few trolls: Bruuno + Chowow, then Jawska + current Bruuno! Doing those ones specifically so I can also talk about my tattoo design process and how that’s changed!

I think Chowow technically predates Bruuno! At the time I was making them, I was really young, like 13? 14? idk. I made them both on a whim- Chowow was specifically made to be paired w/ his matesprit (he was originally gunna be an olive!) and Bruuno was made as the troll version of a beloved oc named Bruno. I put a LOT of my anger issues and trauma into Chowow, as a method of coping with them. I also VERY distinctly remember the day I looked at Corpse and said “I think Chow’s trans.”-> Saying that also helped me realize I’M trans lol. When Designing Chow, I specifically wanted dog ear shaped horns that were unique, in a way. And because Chow was based off my dog Gia...i just kinda looked at her liddol triangle ears and decided his get 2 be that way. His design has stayed...relatively the same, he got a hair cut but he’s always worn tank tops + shorts. Bruuno specifically was always the guy Who Had Tattoos. Bruuno’s muse was relatively dead for a very long time, he really only like Revived in 2018/2019? His original design was based off the OG OC- curly hair, thin as a rail, scattered tattoos that had little meaning. As Bruuno got quads, he got tattoos AROUND those quads, their symbols. I wasn’t very good at making my own tattoos so he had some that i based off musician’s (such as the squares that i think the drummer from TOP has?). As I aged, Bruuno’s tattoos changed ALL THE TIME there is NO rhyme or rhythm to them. I only looked at him and really, distinctly organized it all, when I saw another fuchsia with nice organized tatts, I think his name was Nihkos?? shrugs u_u Loved that mans. You can so very cleanly track my progress in tattoo design by looking at all of Bruuno’s sprites! Which leads me toooooo.............

..........Jawska! Jawska is, at his root, a Bruuno clone. I thought to myself “Hm. I want a Bruuno Clone.” And Thus Jawska Was Born. Typically when I come up with a character, I let them like. Mellow for a bit. In my brain. Rattle them around like a marble in a cup. And sometimes, I have a very VERY specific niche I want them to fill. For Jawksa, I wanted an asexual character whose asexuality was important to him, who was attractive but distinctly unfuckable. Jawska has some very important Design Notes - Curly hair, Distinct Nose, Slit eyes, 3 gills+fin prongs, broad shoulders+chest. I also seriously sat down and thought about his tattoos. His tattoos mean JACK shit. His chest piece + arms? NOTHING. there’s negative meaning. He got it because it looked sick. There’s SOME meaning, in some places- the blackout on his arm covers an old tattoo and the rings on his fingers are to hide the singular ring he once had. While working on his tattoo, i looked at other tattoos and specifically thought about the body parts that SUCK to get tattoos on. Collar bones, elbows, sternum. And I specifically aimed to leave those a little blank, using the negative space to give purpose but also keep in line w/ what people would normally not tattoo. His outfit is specifically something that doesn’t SCREAM fuchsia but doesn’t HIDE it. Like he’s got his fins and his eyes but he doesn’t wear any fuchsia- wears more red! That reflects how he sees himself: as someone on the bottom of the food chain. He isn’t special or important. He’s not royalty, he doesn’t deserve to wear his symbol or his color. He wears rose gold instead of gold because again, he’s not royalty he doesn’t “deserve” the gold, but also because the warmer rose gold fit better with his pallet. He wears baggy pants and a loose fitting shirt to hide his frame. As someone who was in an abusive relationship and someone asexual, he doesn’t want to be seen or perceived, he absolutely doesn’t want people to look at him and be attracted to him. Cargo pants hide the shape of his hips + legs, baggy shirt hides that broad chest. The tears + tank leave JUST enough open for people to not NOTICE what he’s doing! So it seems deliberate. There’s a few small, unnoticeable pieces of his design that work like cogs in a little machine. You wouldn’t look at him and see his low self esteem, or that he’s hiding. Which is what he wants!

And now back to Bruuno, my beloved idiot. I was going to do Jolene (i really only made jolene because an old friend mentioned there not being a lot of butch women, so i wanted to try my hand at it! another design thing I enjoy is finding niches or concepts I don’t see a lot of, and try to make my twist on them. jolene’s in the process of being a lil reworked design wise so i won’t talk abt her.) but I figured I could explain the bits and pieces of Bruuno now. Any design I make, at least now, tends to be very similar to Jawska- there’s small, unnoticeable bits and cogs, or themes that work together hand in hand. I could honestly sit here for hours explaining all of it. Bruuno is the only Monark who has both horns- even though he was designed first, I had all his “relatives” lose that C shaped horn. How they lost it is different and important to them but Bruuno having both horns is a way to show he’s Different from them. In ANY outfit he wears, its typically loose-fitting or a tank top, right? He has a dorsal fin that he doesn’t like having pressed down, but he also enjoys having his figure disformed. Wearing baggy, open shirts give him a more carefree appearance, which is why he does it often when in the limelight. His more casual outfits tend to be cargo shorts, tactical pants, sweats, and tank tops. He really wears long pants because they hide the robotic leg. Despite that, they are all loose fitting, comfortable, but still have an “edge” to them. He has JUST enough piercings in to have that lil edge but not be seen as a cocky highblood! Enough to impress but not be flashy. His robotic arm is VERY clearly a robotic arm, but it isn’t one that looks incredibly flashy. He’s a gigantic fuchsia rockstar with a million tattoos, of course he’s going to stand out, he has no need to be even flashier with a high tech super cool arm or a billion piercings. Another important aspect is his hair! There’s SO much story behind his hair i won’t even go into it. Bruuno has always had curly hair because around the time I made his design, I cut off my super long hair and suddenly I was left with a mess of curls. In my own experience, people likes touching my hair w/o asking, i’d get teased all the time, I’d get a fuck ton of unasked for comments ( “you’d look better with straight hair.” “boys would like you better with straight hair.” “curly hair looks messy.” gags. die. choke on a dick.) and I kinda used Bruuno to vent that out? I put my insecurity and frustration with my hair into Bruuno. I was too damn depressed to straighten my hair, so I decided Bruuno gets to go through that. He primarily wears his hair pulled back now because he’s also too depressed to straighten it. ok now im too tired to finish this. u_u

Welcome to Bible Study - Is your OC religious?

After his exile from the Brotherhood, Archer set up a camp in Zion for a while. Long enough to set up a trading deal with the Dead Horses, and long enough to meet the Joshua Graham that the New Cannanites refused to talk about. They would talk by the fire, sometimes they would just sit in each other's company while Archer rested. Sometimes Joshua would be reading his bible, and one time Archer asked about it. What Joshua explained that night is all he knows about religion, and that was a long time ago.

He’s pretty calm and relaxed, so long as he’s not going through an episode.

First and foremost, his dogs. He knows for a fact that they don't care what he looks like, or that he isn't completely mentally stable. They’ve been through thick and thin together. Secondly he gets along pretty well with Gage. Gage also doesn’t really care about Archer’s schizophrenia, and doesn’t make a big deal out of it. There are also some other ocs out there i think he’d get along with pretty well but im tooo awkward lol

WHY DO YOU RP AGAIN, IS THERE A GOAL?: I love a good story. While I don’t agree with everything Cullen does (and no one should, for anyone real or imagined), his story is intriguing. He’s a deeply flawed, deeply broken man. I love to take on a character, toss them in every situation I can think of, and watch them evolve and grow.

WISHLIST, BE IT PLOTS OR SCENARIOS: A real redemption arc, for one. A realistic struggle with substance abuse and recovery. A future of happiness.

THEMES I WON’T EVER RP / EXPLORE: Rape or sexual assault, unless being spoken about as a past event (as I truly believe that Cullen was sexually assaulted at Kinloch along with the other psychological and physical torture he endured). In-game racism is baked in, unfortunately, but it’s not something I seek out to roleplay as a PoC myself. Finally, while I play Cullen as canon-straight, I will not play out homophobia and most definitely not transphobia. If he rejects your muse for hitting on him, it’s not because he’s being homophobic: he’s just not interested. That also doesn’t mean he’ll never be interested; people can and do change, and I ship chemistry overall. He doesn’t hate your muse for their gender, orientation, or sexual preferences. I feel like I really have to spell this out for people who don’t understand. If you feel personally insulted by this somehow, feel free to address me directly, off anon. It’s probably an issue of fuzzy wording that I’m 500% willing to fix and talk about.

WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE LEAST?: Characters that come across as Mary-Sue / Gary-Stu types. No flaws and barely any room to grow.

WHAT ARE YOUR STRONG ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: I'm very easy-going and I have an unearthly level of tolerance for almost everything. I try to provide partners with as much to work with as possible IC, and will pretty much support your very existence OOC. I believe in open communication so you’ll know what’s going on with me and/or our threads. Also, I typically reply within a week or two. Currently I’m tethered to finishing a big paper so I’m not a good example of that right now.

WHAT ARE YOUR WEAK ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: I can get overwhelmed by too much which slows my pace down considerably. I’m also a bit distant and do shut down on occasion; that’s usually no fault of my partners, though. Just my brain being a dick.

DO YOU RP SMUT?: YES / NO / DEPENDS. (the closer we are OOC, the easier getting here will be)

DO YOU PREFER TO GO INTO DETAIL?: YES / NO / DEPENDS. (it’s not going to be XXX but it will be descriptive)

WHEN DO YOU RP SMUT? MORE OUT OF FUN OR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT?: I prefer to write smut for character development and to mark a progression in a relationship. Plus Cullen is not a “one and done” guy so getting to the smut stage will take a bit of build-up.

ANYTHING YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO RP THERE?: Hmmm things that he personally wouldn’t go for I guess? Honestly I don’t know. And obviously, no rape/animal abuse/predator nonsense.

ARE SHIPS IMPORTANT TO YOU?: YES / NO Ships are a great way to further explore a character and their motivations. People do not exist in pure isolation, so I don’t believe characters should, either.

WOULD YOU SAY YOUR BLOG IS SHIP-FOCUSED?: YES / NO. I bolded both because the focus of the blog isn’t ships, but this thirst trap guy is really easy to ship with other people I tell ya hwat. I am severely picky with romantic ships for Reasons, but I don’t eschew any other types of ships. I encourage them!

Also, characters who understand his past and they are in no ways obligated to forgive it, but do recognise that he’s struggling very hard to mend whatever mistakes he can and is willing to pay the price for his decisions.

ARE YOU OKAY WITH PRE-ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS?: YES / NO / DEPENDS. - Be a good salesperson and I might buy it.

- WHAT COULD POSSIBLY MAKE YOUR MUSE INTERESTING TOWARDS OTHERS, WHY SHOULD THEY RP WITH THIS PARTICULAR CHARACTER OF YOURS NOW, WHAT POSSIBLE PLOTS DO THEY OFFER?: Cullen is a massive stick in the mud, which means it’s incredibly easy to taunt him and get him flustered all at the same time. He’s loyal, he’s intelligent, and he’s largely self-aware. He likes swords and using them. Anything your character hates about him, he most likely hates about himself 100 times more.

WITH WHAT TYPE OF MUSES DO YOU USUALLY STRUGGLE TO RP WITH?: Those from the start that show absolutely no interest in speaking with/interacting with him. Mun and muse are going to struggle to stick around. I’m not going to fight for attention and neither is he.

WHAT DO THEY DESIRE, WHAT IS THEIR GOAL?: Redemption. He wants to be a better person and make up for the past as much as he can.

WHAT CATCHES THEIR INTEREST FIRST WHEN MEETING SOMEONE NEW?: He can sniff out a fellow Templar a mile away (or several miles, in the case of Samson).

WHAT DO THEY VALUE IN A PERSON?: Honesty, a strong will, devotion (not necessarily to the Maker or the Chantry, but to a just cause that focuses on protecting others).

WHAT THEMES DO THEY LIKE TALKING ABOUT?: War stuff, chess, books, trebuchets, dogs.

WHICH THEMES BORE THEM?: Lectures about anything. He did his time in Azkaban in the Circles. No more. Please no more.

DID THEY EVER WENT THROUGH SOMETHING TRAUMATIC?: His parents died trying to escape the Blight, he was tortured for weeks/months on end by blood mages, almost all of his friends died because of it, he was manipulated and brainwashed by his superior, he was forced into a near-debilitating substance addiction by his workplace... yeah just a few things.

WHAT COULD LEAD TO AN INSTANT KILL?: Darkspawn and abominations.

IS THERE SOMEONE /-THING THEY HATE?: Darkspawn and abominations. Blood mages on principle. Regular mages (but he’s working hard to remedy this extremely bad and prejudiced thinking). Himself.

IS YOUR MUSE EASY TO APPROACH?: YES / NO. - BEST WAY TO APPROACH THEM?: Just be polite and he won’t turn you away. He’s guarded, yes, but not impossible to talk to.

How strictly do you follow canon? — I follow enough canon to not change the plot, but its very VERY lore heavy. and it diverges post game as well. Not to mention there are some discrepancies with my Link as well. namely his eye colour. his personality is BIT more jaded than canon. but then again, he is a character that is ( in theory ) YOU. so its how YOU play the game.

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals. — i mean. idk im not really a sellout in general....?? he’s... extremely interesting in the fact that you have a tired man(tm) who’s just about done with the world at such a young age. he’s the hero of hyrule, and has done many feats. he has interesting stories to tell. and he’s not at all a boring person. he’s a bit quirky, has a fan-base, and overall, who WOULDN’T want to interact with link? i mean its LINK. after all... not to mention that he’s not really PREDICTABLE for the most part. I mean he is kind of but also not at all. I just??? i think a lot of people find him interesting? he’s also very attentive at times. you literally have to throw a rock and he will look your direction.

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?). — he is a selective mute. he WILL not talk. he will not approach you. you HAVE to approach him.... while he tends to be ‘OP’ he really isn’t. he’s still very much a human, and will react as such. its very hard to approach cause he has that ‘intimidating feel’ and lets not forget that he really does straight up ignore people if hey dont say anything to him. in that aspect it’s hard to interact with him. because its not like he ‘tunnel visions’ but he just wont pay attention to you if there is nothing to pay attention to.

What inspired you to rp your muse? — he’s been a muse for me since 2012. just always put on the backburner for a reason. but really? link was the ONE character that I could relate to. he was my go to guy. really. in high school, i struggled with friends and a lot of other things. but i pushed through. and honestly. link was ALWAYS a character that i turned to for that. it happened with Skyward Sword as well. when BOTW came out it was the same way. BOTW was my go to game in college because of link. so when i finally gt the wiiu version and started playing TP again, i was like. YEP im making him again. cause yes. the themes in TP are all themes that are right up my alley too. so of course i am going to find inspiration there. I ALSO found inspiration when i found some celtic music as well. I listen to msic when i write my replies. and when i was writing a reply on another blog. i found some celtic music and i just had THAT MOOD.

What keeps your inspiration going? — the game. celtic music. honestly art. vines. anythign that reminds me of TP Link keeps me going. some of the interactions i have keep me going. the PLOTS i have keep me going.

Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO. ( i mean i love to write drabbles tbh. I don’t think i have on link, but I would always LOVE to. though if you look at some of my asks, they can be considered drabbles. lololol i love to write. )

Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO.

Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO ( link is the ONE muse i never EVER lose confidence in. which is why he is such a strong character for me. link is me. straight up. and i think somebody asked me that too. he’s NOT a self insert but. i can relate SO much to him in so many ways. but i love the way i portray him cause he is very unique. i just hope that my confidence doesn’t SCARE duplicates and other people cause i would never want people to be intimidated by THIS fact that i am confident. )

Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO. ( lol yea. honestly i love to write. though my style always changed and sometimes i worry about that. cause sometimes i have prose and sometimes i dont. but im an adaptable writer which i always loved about myself. )

Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO. ( yea. both. i am both. im sensitive ooc but want to say shit about my portrayal. i don’t really care. say shit about me, and then i get upset and sad. )

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal? — depends n the criticism. I say this all the time. theres constructive criticism. and then theres. just plain hate. I accept anything thats constructive. I want to know what i need to work on or what people would want to see. link is an ever-changing muse. i learn and grow and i will take anything thats told to me nicely without the hate.

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character? — PLEASE. jsut send them my way i LOVE all the questions and character development. you dont even have to be a mutual for that.

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why? — yes and no. i mean its my HC. you are allowed to disagree with my HC. hoenstly. thats the beauty of INTERPRETATIONS. i dont expect every TP link out there to agree with all of my HCs. so long as we can all be mature adults about it and talk normally with one another. we gucci. like we are allowed to have different HCs. and honestly. I would want to know because i would want to know what YOU think about the ‘canon.’ cause it’s different. i like those differences.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it? — idk why they would? its link? its the protag. and in a way its supposed to be different for each person anyway??? its like taking Robin or Corrin from FE. like people are allwoed to disagree with the portrayal i GUESS? but i don’t understand why anybody would like stragiht up HATE the portrayal. its just different? idk.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it? — see above tbh. but honestly. depends. do you hate him for the portrayal. or do you hate him cause of his character personality. like you’re allowed to interact with ‘bad’ characters. not that i think anybody would HATE link? but you know i could be wrong??? idk how to answer this cause what do you mean by hate? you can hate a character. but still interact with them??? idk how to compute this question???

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors? — yes and no. honestly. i know i make mistakes. but i don’t want grammar nazi’s. i write to relax. the only time i would want people to tell me is if they were trying to figure out what i meant. does that make sense. like if they are confused on something. then its okay to tell me. otherwise if its something that is just a small mistake that you can ignore. then its no big deal. its also how you approach me too. like approach with caution. i am a delicate flower. so don’t attack me for making a mistake.

Do you think you are easy going as a mun? — i am VERY VERY easygoing!!! I want to say im VERY kind. i am very accepting and EXTREMELY FORGIVING. no joke. I want to be the kindest person out there. I dont want people to be intimidated by me. I don’t want people to be scared of hurt by me. hoenstly. I am a very nice person. I may have different opinions but i am VERY respectful to everybody even those i do not agree with. Nobody should ever feel weird about me like ever okay? please don’t. I never want bad blood. so if something ever happens between us. you are always ALWAYS more than welcome to come talk to me when emotions have fizzled out. I am very apologetic too. so like?? idk??? who would???? consider me??? and asshole??? im tired. and i shut my door fast but its mainly cause... i am tired. nothing else has to do with it. i am very excitable and happy for people who talk to me. i consider ANYBODY who talks to me a friend. im jsut??? no really. i know people are shy. but im over her a big tired ball of fluff. i only want love and happiness for people. anybody who’s talked to me can testify to this. ♥♥
