You find that at night its keeping you awake. Heart racing, but you know its not your doing. Its his. You can hear him through your shared wall. One forced upon you once you got the demon. He quick to grab your face, you dont even try to stop it. You're tired of waiting.

finished the teal mask and oh boy do i have thoughts…

(SPOILERS FOR THE NEW DLC IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS PLS DO NOT READ)

god. kieran. kieran is so refreshing from a character perspective. kieran is like the anti-hop. it kind of feels like he’s the protagonist and we’re the classic jerk rival, doesn’t it? this guy clearly has Issues and i really like that, im enjoying this sort of “why can’t i beat you” rival trope that gamefreak’s been doing lately. they nearly did it with hop but with kieran they’re really going full in. the character arc that kieran went through in this dlc was actually difficult for me to watch, seeing this poor boy destroy himself mentally. the first time i battled him for the final time i actually lost, and i was hoping that he would get to keep ogerpon because altho shes cute and i adore her, i felt so bad. but ofc thats not the way the cookie crumbles. kieran is socially awkward, he doesn’t know how to communicate, and he’s never had a true friend. then florian/juliana comes along and suddenly there’s someone who seems to genuinely enjoy hanging out with him that isn’t, yknow, related to him. but then that person that he was so eager to trust goes along and begins befriending and helping a pokemon that hes adored all your life behind his back. i relate to kieran a lot and ofc yknow the absolute maniac arc hes about to go through is probably not healthy but i rlly hope this ends up being good for him. he idolized ogerpon because of how he related to her story, not because of the actual living creature she is. i wouldnt be surprised if it turns out he doesnt value his pokemon as actual living creatures either. i could see him being like a reverse silver, as he grows colder growing to not even care about his pokemon.

on the other hand, carmine! carmine was such a delight, i was genuinely not expecting to enjoy her as much as i did. sure, she also has Issues and has probably been a negative effect on her brother, but at the end of the day she is also just a kid. she probably has no idea what shes doing, and i dont think shed ever hurt kieran. she went through a lot of growth in the dlc and i can see her trying to become a better person with the help of florian/juliana and repairing her odd relationship with kieran.

also, it seems like she kind of has to play a parental role for kieran, as its implied that their parents arent around. thats another thing that separates kieran and carmine from siblings like hop and leon (and oh my god im just realizing all the parallels between hop and leon and kieran and carmine). its implied that the galar bros had a good childhood, and hops Issues dont start until hes set off on his journey and leon is a full adult with an actual life. with the kitakami siblings, if you read between the lines you can tell that theyve had a harder time growing up. with carmines comments on tourism and how it’s negatively effected their town and give her Trust Issues, that obviously fucked them both up a little, seeing that people only valued their hometown as an attraction, and that they themselves were a part of that attraction. and of course we dont know what the issue was with their parents. also, why are they going to school in unova? (side not oh my god it is so obvious that we’re going to get bw remakes in gen 9 or a legends unova game)

kitakami is such an interesting region. obviously its tiny, it has one town and then everything else is just untamed land. i feel like something Else is going on here. or maybe its just small idk

i love ogerpon a lot i think shes adorable and i love that we got to run around with her before she joined our team and it makes the whole “ten year old catches legendary thing” feel more realistic

also why are ogerpon and the loyal three legendaries i feel like they should be mythicals them being legendary feels Wrong

anyways these were my silly thoughts on the dlc and i hope kieran turns out to be the bb leagues champion (pulling a blue) and also i dont trust briar now time to finish my pokedex and talk to legends arceus pandering i mean perrin and if i see anyone call carmine a terrible person i will trade away your ev trained competitive team ok bye

ooooh the dreaded question. i can get really passionate about this (i care too much) so i'm going to be as brief and simple as i can. i'm aware many people enjoy the comics and that's fine. /gen you do you. like i said; i care too much

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: we have no clue how much time or dedication was given to the comics by valve; the poor writing isn't necessarily the fault of the writers and i have no personal beef with them! with that said, old man yells at cloud /ref under read more/keep reading.

the two main gripes i have with the comics are lack of planning and tone problems.

as i already said, the lack of planning- and therefore the poor writing- does not mean the comic team was incompetent (the art is quite good a lot of the time, actually), but this does mean it severely hurts the quality of the comics themselves. it's clear they aren't sure where they're taking this (as evident by whatever the fuck is going on with helen) and what the story is even supposed to mean. the tone goes hand in hand with the poor planning; the comics aren't sure whether they want to be purely comical and action-focused or a DARK comedy; having serious moments and themes in the story.

in the end, the serious moments come off as either manipulative (iykyk. i am not getting angry about this for 40 minutes again) or as if they're being made fun of (cough cough sniper).

they also struggle to really build up those moments, so sometimes it feels as if they just came out of nowhere. it's really jarring.

there's also just. not a lot of conflict between the main cast?? there isn't a lot of pressure put on pauling from the mercs via questioning her actions, etc. (we only slightly get this from spy. but like once) (i get that it's to show how much trust they have in her but, really? not a single thing?) (this could build up to like. a "grand betrayal" sort of thing but yknow. they didnt think about the build up to anything)

this is why i think making it JUST the RED team really hurts the story- they already have set dynamics and don't need to develop or sort through any conflicts they have with one another. medic only has conflict with sniper of all people. MEDIC. who went to join another team which was actively hunting his previous one.

the comics introduce conflict and new dynamics by straight up making up new characters?? as much as i love zhanna- she was primarily put into the story just to be soldier's love interest and have a fun dynamic with him.... i'm so sorry miss.

they could've done that with demo btw?? since demo and soldier are supposed to be friends?? unless actually the team differences DO matter (which the comics do not make clear at all, engie is randomly blue while the rest are red. okay. why? wouldn't you like to know.) so red soldier and red demo dont bounce off of eachother as much as blu soldier and red demo do.

i'm not formatting this at all but remember the poor planning? ahem. sniper timeline. why did you make him barely 30. i will fucking kill you he was always clearly meant to be, look, and sound like an old man. its in his concept art its in how he talks. raghghgh

they keep giving themselves problems by adding new characters cause then the main fucking mercs who people adore get no time for themselves (demo, pyro, scout, engie) they're just kinda......there. it sucks. but it's what we got, i guess. just how canon the comics are is questionable- but i don't care if they are.

the countdown to d day (drew day) has officially begun and luna is well prepared for it! wanting to do something incredibly special for the first birthday spent as a couple, she put together a birthday advent calendar for him. knowing who he is, luna didn't just drop off all the presents (he'd open them in a night); instead, she planned carriers to deliver him a present idea with each one coming with a hand written note. / annoyingly lengthy details below. day 1: luna arrived at minute on May 1st with the first gift in hand: A orange themed gift basket with her corny note attached: Happy Drew Month! Orange you glad it's your birthday? Sweets for my sweet as we start the countdown to the big day (:

day 2: the carrier deliveries start on the 2nd at 11am and the first to arrive was a little friend of a dice bag with the note: maybe if grimace was canon to a dnd game then this is what he would look like! gruesome! grimace's evil twin! (:

day 3: wouldn't be luna if she didn't gift something practical/useful but still odd so (as an attempt) to save his glasses from his clumsiness she got him a skeleton glasses stand with the note: i hope this little guy helps look after you and your glasses when i'm not able to

day 4: spoiler alert for the valpo calendar later but there will be a star wars film event on there where they stitched commercials into the movie to avoid cutting to commercial break at aire libre and ofc luna had to snag them tickets to drew can freshen up on his saber skills. the note attached read: i hope tara is date night ready (: can't wait to have you explain star wars to me while we watch star wars <3

day 5: the picture might be pink and blue but let's use our imaginations because we know she bought them in black and orange lets be so fr!! anyway, mini versions of their octoselves that have magnets inside so they "kiss" with the note: since it's morally gray to stitch myself to you, we could at least have mini versions of our octoselves (: and they kiss!! day 6: if these games suck luna can in fact be blamed <3 honestly, she was looking for more things they could do together. the note read: selfishly, i'd like to spend even more time with you even though i'm very bad at games, you're very good. teach me? (:

day 7: supportive ghoul is supportive, thought horror "motivational" posted would do some good or at least give him a giggle. the note read: i know you've had a rough go on the drawing front; i hope these completely normal and regular motivational posters help (:

day 8: the jason voorhee t-shirt lives on only made worse by her own foolishness. it took so much will power to get him a yellow shirt but she made up for it by maybe getting a size slightly smaller for the arms of the all you dont see the vision like she does anyway note read: my favorite thing you've ever worn has been a jason voorhees t-shirt, so i'm adding to the collection (if you'll have them) (:

day 9: piercing lore is coming back around too don't worry!!! ofc because luna is who she is they had to get him something with a moon pendant on it but the stone is at least HIS birthstone!! note reads: i promise not to be bitter about matching piercings with rafa if you wear this one sometimes (: (ps. not bitter, i think its cute) <3

day 10: there's like no pillows in that house omfg she's working to retcon that right now!!! cute little ghost pillows (yes they are them in her head anyway) note reads: just some comfy reminders that you're my BOO (: and i'm yours <3 eternally <3 death is for quitters (: (you'll get that later)

day 11: again, wouldn't be luna if she didn't try to make his life easier with something practical. a cute little inhaler holder that he's certain to lose but yknow the effort is there. the note reads: it drives me 'batty' when you leave without your inhaler. this is to keep it close for when it's not me taking your breath away ):

day 12: they are really my man my man my manning this i'm sorry but naturally matching lego key rings. trying to mimic their favorite picture of him ig, note reads: i googled some lego puns because i wasn't clever enough on my own so here we go: i can never 'lego' of you. a physical reminder of such (:

day 13: one of those scratch off as you watch movie posters only they got it customized with movies that are his favorites that she hasn't seen, their favorites that he hasn't seen, and then overall horror classics neither (she thinks) of them have seen that they can experience together. the note reads: stalked your letterboxd for this. some of your faves i haven't seen, some of my faves you haven't seen and some classics to experience (:

day 14: probably the thing she's the most nervous but she did get an art piece commissioned of the two of them if they were drive in characters (they don't know and realize that she inspired his main character somewhat sorry drew). the note reads: i wish i could've drawn this myself, but there was a lovely artist kind enough to deal with my nitpicky behavior enough to draw the two of us characters in Drive-In (: I know you might not feel it right now, but you're incredibly talented, mi vida. I'm your biggest fan!

day 15: some more dnd nerd things she knows nothing about but reddit told her it was a potentially cool and nice thing to do. the note reads: i read on reddit that dice towers give you good luck and i know you're really good at games, but i think it'll elevate your costume!

day 16: honestly this made them laugh so hard, but one of those ~live laugh love~ esque home decors but in a horror nature with little horror legos beside it! the note reads: rae dunn meets charles lee ray! if you need help deciding where to hang your new friends, i'm always around <3

day 17: another one of her attempts at making friends with tara. sorry drew, i fear this will start lunas constant attempts at buying him things for the car he will have to dip and dodge from ODIFJGOISFDHJGOFSDHGI. the note reads: i know Tara and I aren't on the best of terms (her fault) but i think it would be nice if she had a friend almost as cute as you around always.

day 18: just a cute little night light. the note reads: the only mood lighting we'll ever need (:

day 19: again, the comfy department in that apartment is tragic so she bought a blanket for movie dates. the note reads: in this life, the afterlife, and all the other we have yet to learn about. i'll always float to you (:

day 20: accepting her mortal enemy as something that makes him very happy and getting him a custom woodsboro house lego set complete with mini scream lego figures. the note reads: gale weathers gave her own personal stamp of approval on the design, but she thinks it won't be complete until you build it. i agree. no pressure.

day 21: they attempted to make something that wasn't jewelry for him and well... the picture is what they ATTEMPTED to make but what came out was more like this. funny though. anyway, the note read: it's the thought that counts? ): i'll try harder next time and when i get it right i'll regift!

day 22: yall she did their best but they don't know a thing about bowling be so fr OUJHJIFKDFUIKODSJFKAO anyway the note reads: i know neon is your favorite color so i hope wearing bowling shoes you feel looks best will help you play the best! cheering you on always (:

day 23: his love of color really pulled at her strength but she at least found some black ones too <3 the note reads: i just thought you'd enjoy these and they can keep you cozy in the upcoming winter months (:

day 24: a funny little guy for their funny little honey <3 the note reads: little guy looks almost as friendly as you! i think he'd be great at greeting anyone who comes in your room (me) (: *** yes i butchered the note on the edit sorry don't jump me

day 25: they think he's a scream fan or something and mentioned it to their mom who just happened to be in scream and she dug up some original promotional poster for him signed by her and a few other cast and crew she may have reached out to??? anyway note reads: padre y madre send their love and this! they pulled it from the vault, signed by a few familiar names i think you may know? you're a fan right?

day 26: CORNY ALERT yeah they wrote him about 5 songs and burned it on a cd, very 2000s romcom of her she thinks. the songs are ones they recorded by themselves all guitar/piano focused very softly sung because they feel the words are very fragile. note reads: i'll let the songs speak the things i find hard to // me & you together songs found here.

day 27: a sap who keeps track of all their anniversaries luna is well aware that the anniversary of when they first met and the con they met at is quickly approaching and it would be a shame if they just idk booked a trip for them to new york to go?? how do those tickets get there? the note reads: a new countdown to where it started has to start now (: 18 days <3

this is completely out of the blue, but i thought of a way of making makoto’s confidant much more enjoyable for me:

make the villain not eiko’s boyfriend, but his manager.

you keep the basics p much the same: the bf tells eiko he broke an expensive vase and has to pay it off, and eiko got a job to help out. the difference is that the bf is telling the truth, and he didn’t tell eiko to help: she decided to do so on her own.

dial down on the sleaze during the double date, he can still be flirty, but make it in the way where hes mostly used to talking to women he doesn’t know one on one for work, and hes not great at turning that off.

give joker a chance to say “something doesn’t feel right” about makoto’s conclusions to make her dig a little deeper and find out that the bf’s manager is actually pressing him for money. another bout of investigation reveals that the vase wasn’t as expensive as the manager is claiming.

maybe they go to mementos, maybe they present the finding to bf to do something with, idk, but in the end the bf can pay eiko back and they can be grateful for makoto’s help as it strengthens their relationship rather than breaks them up.

imo, this gives you four things:

1: doesn’t completely erase eiko’s agency

2: teaches makoto that while she can trust her instincts on knowing when something is fishy, she shouldn’t jump to conclusions based on prejudice (yknow. something that she needs to keep in mind if she actually wants to be a ‘good’ cop)

3: gives makoto a reason to admire joker more by the end, as it was he who kept her from putting the blame on the wrong person. this would also show how she’s grown, to be able to take a step back if someone questions her and think about things instead of digging her heels in in an attempt to prove herself (contrasting it with her actions regarding kaneshiro - if in a milder situation) she’s still the one to reach the conclusion in the end, but she can see the value of a second opinion. maybe she can even make a comment on how she and joker would make good partners because of it (i don’t ship it myself and i dont exactly want to giver her more parallels w/ akechi but. cmon. it would be nice for those who do ship it)

4: gives some commentary on the exploitation in that sort of industry: working at a host club might not be sex work but i would say its certainly adjacent in a way. it wouldnt necessarily be great commentary, but it would be better than ‘all hosts are shitbags who exploit women for money’

ok uhhhh how i draw ig idk 😭 I’m really bad at this idk why I’m doing this but anyways

^ I use either of these to sketch, usually in a brighter color. I generally gravitate towards blues but it honestly depends on who I’m drawing.

Then I um um uh sketch idk how to like. Talk about it it just comes really naturally uhhh. I always start with the head. First you draw a circle. Y’know. And then the body underneath with like a. A line. For the shoulders and turn that into the body and like a box I guess idk. I added the red box line this just to make the anatomy clearer or something idk I usually just draw it and then move on. So I lower the sketch opacity and move on to lineart. I use a downloaded brush for it which uhhhhh I forget where I got it :( but uh it’s max stabilization because I can’t make non shaky lines lmao

I um got a little fancy here sowwy :( so um um um um uhhh um idk 😭 lineweight ig I love lineweight!!!! 😍 I just uhhh put it where I think it should or just. Do it accidentally idk sowwy 😓

So uh I don’t actually add color before I do colors but like since she has black sclera and color eyes I was just like eh why not yknow so uh

next I add.. colors. Idk how I shade like. Changes so sometimes I do flats and sometimes I’ll just do one color and shade it and do the next color and shade so uhhh idk I’ll do flats first here

So uh. Flats. Idk not much to say here. I just color picked from her ref. And chose colors when I needed to bc that’s not her usual outfit

So then I just. Idk. Hue shifting 😍 I just add stuff where it feels right tbh sorry :(

I don’t actually use a light source for most things unless it’s like really dramatic I probably should. Do that…..

and then I like. Idk just. Repeat. For. The other colors. Sorry this is NOT helpful I’m sorry 😭 I usually like. So for the edge of the shadow I add a darker color shifted to the left or right, and towards the … uhhh opposite side of the edge I add a slightly lighter color also shifted. Bounce light or something idk. Then like highlights if I want idk 😭

So um I went too far oopsies but uhhh yeah look at her go we aren’t done yet though so uhhh um uh i honestly don’t know from here I just. Add stuff until it looks cool enough. I gotta edit the cigarette smoke (WHICH BY THE WAY, NOT TRYING TO MAKE IT LOOK COOL. SMOKING GIVES YOU CANCER SO UM. PROBABLY DONT) and uhhhh yeah idk I’ve said all I can basically 😭😭😭😭😭 I kinda lose myself in the process and like. Don’t think at all? I kinda forget I or anything else exists. Why I like drawing: 🤭 but ummmmm um um yeah see you on the other side ig 😞

mha characters physical headcanons (does that even make sense idk im french). this is in absolutely no order im just popping these up as I go

shouto is blind on his burnt side, the good ol headcanon. his eyes is a very dull blue

shinsou has a scar across his face from forster parents putting muzzles on him

bakugou is hard of hearing

aizawa has a single tattoo and it's a cat sleeping on a cloud

mic has a shit ton of tattoos including but not limited to : a matching tattoo of a cat meowing on a cloud, a lot of clouds, aizawa's goggles and capture weapon, music notes and partitions of his favorite songs, his own hero name, etc

midnight is tall as shit, shes taller than aizawa. mic is only 1cm taller than her but she wears heels all the time so she's still taller. she loves to tease people about it

I know it's just a funky thing horikoshi does to his characters sometimes but shinsou is actually one of the only people in the show to have white pupils. people's eyes mimic his pupils when shinsou brainwashes them.

aizawas hair is really thick and curly, but he takes terrible care of it.

on the topic of aizawas hair, sometimes it floats a bit when he's flustered, surprised, angry, excited etc

shinsou's hair just does that. it stands on its own and it's terrible and shinsou used to hate it but he comforts himself thinking it kinda looks like aizawas.

midoriya and mina are blasian i am right

mina has vitiligo

kaminari has a bunch of lighting shaped scars. also he's south asian and brown skinned because I said so

this is literally just how I edit hori's sketches now lmao (cough cough @lunejump)

iidas legs are fucking covered in scars and he refuses to say how he for them

ochako's cheeks are naturally really pink.

ochako's has chubby muscle dad bod vibe kinda. she'll beat the shit out of you anyway. she's also super small and wears discreet platform shoes sometimes

tsuyu's skin is just straight up green. I really just want her to be more frog like lmao. she got frog eyes too. toad skin in places with the little bumps and shit. also she's autistic I KNOW I SAID PHYSICAL HEADCANONS BUT SHH

dabi desperately needs glasses. he also has terrible dry eye because of the whole no tear duct situation, so in general he just doesn't see shit. he pays a lot fo attention to noise because of that.

dabi's hair is very fluffy and thick naturally, but dying it (+yknow the burning) made it really damaged (its why it's spikier than when he was young)

toga has a bunch of vampire features, notably : glowing eyes, pointy ears, the good ol' fangs, naturally sharp nails, pale ass skin from being sensible to sunlight, etc. she really likes garlic tho dont get her wrong

toga also got tattoos at some point, not a lot tho cuz she started only a bit after joining the league. she has : a lot of hearts, a bat, couple of knifes, "stainy <3" (she did this one by herself so it's a bit wobbly). she wants to get tattoos that ressemble her friends from the league, especially for twice, magne, dabi and shiggy.

mic has piercings. obviously. he has nipple piercings (listen im just a man), a nose ring (he doesn't wear it when doing hero work), a bunch of ear piercings, and an eyebrow one.

when they were in high school, mic got aizawa to get snake bites. aizawa stopped wearing them somewhere in his 20s so they closed back, and mic is constantly trying to get him to get them redone.

midnight prolly has matching nipple piercings with mic honestly they'd do that

shigaraki's hair is surprisingly soft because kurogiri makes him take care of it. when kurogiri gets arrested, his hair starts to get more tangled because no one brushes it anymore.

fuyumi, rei and dabi have the same hair type (wavy, thick fluffy hair)

shinsou stays pretty skinny no matter how much he muscles up. he has a fast metabolism and struggles to take on weight

aizawa is so fucking hairy its terrible

mic's mustache is like that because it's the only thing he manages to grow

mic's hair is like the opposite of aizawa's. it's straight and stringy, and its pretty damaged despite mic's efforts to take care of it because of all the hair gel

bakugou has heavy acne on his face and back, which is why he takes very good care of his skin. he doesn't really care if people think it's ugly, he just doesnt want it to hurt like a bitch

hagakure is really pale because the sun technically never really touches her skin. her eyes and hair are a weird pale color for a similar reason. not like anyone sees it much though.

MOMO IS TRANS MOMO IS TRANS I AM RIGHT. she was able to transition early on thanks to her parents acceptance and money.

momo is a bit chubby and taller than most of the boys in the class. she's never shy about eating a lot, especially since its what makes her quirk work, and she tends to get really hungry after using it a lot.

jirou often gets overwhelmed because of how much she can hear. think of dolores from encanto she can hear a lot.

her earjacks are really sensible too, but she doesn't really have anything to protect them.

jirou's irises are a very bright red.

hatsume is blasian, she has pink dreads

her arms are pretty muscly from working a lot on heavy stuff. she also has a lot of different scars on her hands and some on her face from her lack of care for safety

concerning shouto, the carpet does match the drapes. he isn't that hairy tho.

shouto has a couple of burn and frostbite scars on his arms from training too much. the burn ones are older, since he didn't use his flames for a long time.

shinsou is the type of pale thats so pale you can kinda see veins under the skin. he calls himself a corpse pretty often. it's also why his eyebags are so visible.

mirko is probably albino tbh (this is 100% inspired by that one edit)

while bakugou's palms are always super hot and sweaty, midoriya's are very cold for no reason.

midoriya bites his nails and the skin around them, often 'til it bleeds, so his fingers are. in a state (im just calling myself out at this point lmao)

mic has heterochromia and is hard of hearing

all might's eyes weren't blue before he got ofa. I like to think ofa modifies the user's appearance a bit, notably with the eyes. all might's eyes changed so luch because he went from no quirk to mastering ofa.

midoriya's eyes are very green naturally but when he uses ofa a lot, there's a blue tint as well (think the overhaul fight)

kirishima's hair must be so fucking damaged man. his hair is naturally black but he dyes it a very bright color, so he probably needs to bleach it a lot. it's probably permanent dye too since he wants to keep it like that, and he probably dyes his roots often too. plus the hair gel. he probably went through the elastic hair pain

bakugou's eyes are an orangey red, while kirishima's are blood red.

similar to all might and midoriya, aoyama's eyes became that bright sparkly blue when he got gifted his quirk. they're probably kinda glittery looking. his eyes were probably brown originally

kendo has stretch marks and some scars on her hands from them changing size so often. it doesn't really hurt tho.

shinsou probably had braces at some point

kaminari has a tooth gap

sero is part latino. he has brown eyes also.

sero's skin gets sticky sometimes. he hates it because people think he's dirty. It's really just a side effect of his quirk.

because I'm trypophobic I refuse to think sero has holes in his elbows. his tape is probably a sort of extension of his skin, and the weird shape in his elbows are here to help produce the thing.

denki has an eyebrow piercing

shinsou's eyes glow slightly when he's using his quirk, but it's not that noticeable.

aizawa's eyes glow yellow (like in the manga because I love yellow). otherwise his irises are completely black. it's unnerving

aizawa actually isnt that silent when he speaks, unless he's trying to. he has a big voice.

mic is actually very silent when he wants to because he's used to controlling the volume of his voice. also, he's very good at doing weird shit with his voice.

similarly, shinsou is very good at mimicking voices and sounds. he struggles a bit with high voices because his voice is naturally deep, but he's good at imitating birds and cats. he can purr also because I said so.

okkkk so ive been wonderingggg..... who are are the blue and the purple ocs you posted earlier 2day....i am so curious what is their lore

ouhg. ok. so. thats rose and wolfe, two of my lobcorp ocs part of a funy lil facility story im slowly ironing out :] um, nothing officials gonna come out of that, ijust write characters for fun, but they Do have an overarching.. Thing. going on. the lot of them.

but! those two mean a whole whole lot to me, theyve been on my mind a lot lately :] though um, their mess is. not as clear to me as some others', which is why i havent yet written up a loredump for them dkfjgndk;; but ill do my best!

wolfe is a character that Heavily self-isolates on account of not wanting to deal with anyone elses bullshit constantly. shes just kinda generally agitated at all times, snaps at just about anyone. which is on purpose, because if she has a reputation for being Scary and Unapproachable, well. people wont try. mostly.

unfortunately for her, rose is a character that Loves gossip and eavesdropping (under the cover of Simply Listening To People's Issues,) and That One Guy Who Sulks In A Corner And Hates Everyone is kinda prime material for digging into. And That She Does! Constantly. she is annoyingly persistent in trying to dig through whatever wolfe has going on, which she takes about as well as youd think she would.

rose posits it as Simple Curiosity, which wolfe doesnt really engage with, until eventually she nags so much that she starts giving one or two word answers just t get her off her back for once. ...buuuut that just means that its Working. and rose keeps trying. its just an on and on of pestering and shooing away and verrrry very slowly learning more about That Weird One That Doesnt Like Anyone.

and while wolfe keeps up that veneer of distance and disdain, its kinda.. weird. because even though it Is annoying, nobody has ever remembered what she talks about and builds off it like rose did. despite her own instincts to keep hidden, it Did genuinely feel like who she was was being respected for once. not as the caricature she put up, but simply As She Was. (she didnt know how to feel about that.)

on the other half of things, what started as a mostly disingenuous almost-game with herself ended up spiraling into genuine curiosity on rose's behalf-- she never shares much of herself much of ever, but she found herself unintentionally making exceptions with wolfe. every answer in between silences resonated in a way she wasnt really expecting. she keeps up her unruffled air, but... well, she does think about that one a lot. (that was new. and also an accident. huh.)

i dont really know what those two Have at that point in time, but They Have To Go Together, yknow?

um. dont worry about the issues. they dont exist if you dont look at them. nothing bad ever happens in lcorp.

anyway, you ever wonder what the difference is between an attack dog and a guard dog? which holds more beauty-- a prized flower or a weed growing through stone?

Modern AU of Rayamaari- similar events where Raya and Namaari stopped being close because of drama with families, betrayal, and eventual reconnection where later Raya realizes she has deep feelings for Namaari.

She wants to smother the feelings away, while Sisu convinces her to finally open up to Namaari about her feelings. Somehow- they come up with the bright idea to call her since it’s “less scary” than saying it straight to her face and the scene plays out like this:

Raya: (paces back and forth as she begins dialing Namaari’s home phone number)

Sisu: (quietly giving her a thumbs up on the other side of the room)

Raya: (starts panicking as she hears the call is going through and someone answers)

Voice: hello-?

Raya: NAMAARI- hey, it’s Raya, yknow- I mean… of course you know, I mean- maybe you don’t…I guess Raya might be a popular name? I don’t know! Listen- I wanted to call you cause I recently found out I Ah- …well I guess I more realized for awhile now-…or always knew but just became aware of-…well, okay- I’m just gonna spit it out and-….(groans) okay- I like you a lot, like a LOT A LOT, and I know it’s weird and out of the blue, but I can’t stop thinking about you and I feel like we’ve had tons of moments where I think something might happen between us, and like- maybe it will, maybe it won’t! I well-….I just think we have something here, I think maybe if you feel the same way…which it’s fine if you dont, we could start dating. Cause I think that would be logical and neat and yeah, I know no one says NEAT anymore but I’m really crazy about you so I’m not making much sense. If she was allowed to pack food/water probably, but she wouldnt enjoy it. If she couldnt pack food/water it'd be a lot more questionable but she wouldnt just lay down and die about it. She'd get a kick out of observing flora and fauna and geography for like an hour and say hmm interesting then want to go home immediately. MUCH happier indoors, not a fan of the elements or weather or foraging.

Not really becuase i think she's overly confident in her own ability but she might throw her labmate in there as a sacrifice.

I don't think she keeps any of it a secret but i could see her being really into some cringe soap operas. i could see her being a crazy cat lady.

Work definitely, and she has kinda few hobbies to really compare the time spent against. Reading and researching kinda counts as a hobby tho because she enjoys it for personal enrichment, but its also important to her field of work.

If it's urgent or for work and she has others relying on her then she's great and incredibly Efficient. otherwise bad <3 girl where is your whimsy

like this kid is terrified and honestly so is peter but hes staying calm and convincing this kid that this mask will make him stronger so he can save him. THIS is the moment i was talking about. this is when peter becomes spiderman.

the moment he gave that kid back to his father alive and safe is when he became a superhero. thats also when he coins the name. but this exact moment is what made him into the actual hero rather than just having the name. he gets home and he stares at his mask bc now he knows he has an immense responsibility to save peoples lives and keep them safe.

parts 2 of my previous homestuck post, now on to the things i find silly!

-yaoi tournament will live free forever in my head. so as the horse cock. this is the worst thing hussie has ever done. i legit did not know it was an actual horse cock like i think it was just a giant blue dildo 😭😭😭😭

-the dancestors are really lame people like oh my god. beforus kids are giant dorks i cant believe their alternia counterparts are so badass like, take aranea and mindfang. just look at the contrast. first one is a nerd who would pay people for attention and the other is a girlboss who doesnt give a shit.

-one thing i do like from kankri is that he gave us plenty if funny karkat suffers joke. i love how this loser makes karkat do the walter white face lmaoooo he just cant get a break is he?

-And oh, tavris they are doing you both dirty. like, its an improvement that vriska actually says something positive to him and that tavros did speak up against her at some points. but the narrative doesnt really want them to grow as a person. i think hussie has gotten too attached to vriska the unapologetic thief of light to the point that its reflecting badly on her and other's character development. okay fine i did say i wont take it seriously, but im a writer too. ofc i will notice the issues.

- this might be an unpopular opinion but i like the elevatorstuck music. gamzee is like, getting close to be my scrunkly like i know he does atrocities but he is really funny when doing it.

-the lands for the alpha kids are really fascinating. its less lively than the beta kids but im glad i actually get to experience the puzzles they have to solve on quests and its relations with the players' classpect. i want to see jane fulfilling her planets wish to be green and fertile. she gets too much shit talk from caliborn so i want to see her get a win yknow? and she's so goofy like her beta counterpart i want to see her happy and silly like egbert too.

-speaking of egbert, im kinda worried for him. can you believe it? he doesnt like con air anymore. i've been in his phase of starting to lose all joy in things i used to like and feeling lonely even with people around me and its not pretty. i know he went through a lot. i hope the experience with the dream bubble would make him happier even if just for a bit

-and another beta kids i want to be sad about: davesprite! he's so alone. all of his friends from the timeline is gone, he's not the main dave anymore and john keeps treating him like a replacement. its like he's relegated to a nobody who happens to have a recognizable face. poor guy.

-and to be sad again, i know i made fun of karkat a lot, but i have the biggest parental instinct for him. aside from terezi. he's the biggest crier out of the group. he's shouty and annoying but thats very much the kind of annoying shit that children do yknow? at first i dont like him because of his attitude to jade, but slowly i did warm up to him. he never really hated anybody and most of his tantrums are generally harmless to other people. in fact, he blames himself a lot about things that are out of his control. he's the one with the least body count from the rest of the trolls and he literally had to grew up hunted and unwanted by society. i want to give him a hug, i truly do.

-okay back to fanboying. roxy!!!! shit. man i adore that she has an aura that makes any surveillance camera blackout nearby. yes, girl, BECOME UNGOVERNABLE.

-and i cant believe im saying this, but i miss sollux. at first i was just joking about finding him interesting because he has my star sign and is good at coding but yeah. i do miss the guy. where is he really?

back from anime north it was a lot of fun.

i could not find any aerial or gusion full city or hyakuri but i found a novelization of stret fighter and a manga capcom apparently made of daigo umehara’s life story and i think thats very funny/cool (also other booksbut theyre not as funny/cool as a daigo umehara biomanga). highlight was definitely that big dance circle where people would jump in if they heard a kpop song they knew. i dont know any but it was fun to watch and we were there for like hours because it was so mesmerizing the talent on display. there was this kid who was 10 and he fucking popped off and every song he knew he took center and everyone immediately snapped into formation behind him and everyone became 1000x more synched because thats the power of a strong center.

lowlight was not being able to hang out with my friend as much because he was working it as a vendor this year and also this one weirdo at the dance circle who straddled up next to me with his buddy and was like “hey do you know where the hentai is?” and because he asked a question i had an answer to because i had just come from the beguiling booth where i saw a hentai table i immediately answered him and his shit eating grin just. immediately melted. he sullenly thanked me and went back to his friend and i felt the little loading wheel spin in my head until i realized he was trying to embarass me??? i guess???? like i was some victorian froufrou lady or something??? like hey dipshit its an anime convention some ladies are out here with there whole ass with signs saying theyll step on you for $5 and im out here in jorts and im all ankle like what the hell are you talking about go away

i also got a cute mousepad that is all flower petals and moon crescents with soft pink and blue pastels and a stiched edge that im very excited about, as well as a bunch of stickers i want to put on my mtg notebook. also an artist was selling an error keychain she made of adora but her armour was styled with silver foil instead of the intended gold foil and the artist was like “oh this was a mistake but i would rather people have it than it get thrown away” and i like that because it was specifically because the foiling was silver that i thought it was cool because it felt like a mid-transformation effect than just the normal armour like youd see her in. idk i think its neat how such a little mistake could make something so aesthetically cool to me yknow? it also has this cool rainbow halo/aura effect in the clear resin where the heart of etheria frames adora like ist just very cool i think. so yeah it was a good time!

I WANT TO KNOW!!! ABOUT ELLIE!!! i wanna know about the pink girl!!! shes very cute and sweet (and reminds me a lot of patton kinda) and i want to know more about her.

first of all, when i think of her i kinda think of jules from euphoria, but like in her pastel stages when she wasnt fucked up (/pos). shes so bubblegum. like, hubba bubba girl, yknow?

can i learn a little about her home life? what inspired her to be the way she is? shes been very fluffy since she was a child, clearly, but why? why not be angry at the world?

also you may already have talked about this but i havent scrolled through ur entire calypsokimm tag so i dont know, how did she meet the other girls?

I love Ellie so very much and will happily talk about her <3 fair warning I don't have quite as much backstory laid out for her like I do for Calypso (Cal has the most complex story by far, for obvious reasons, but the other's all have stories, most are just not as detailed/still in development) but there is still going to be so much.

I haven't watched euphoria do idk Jules outside of like, pretty pictures, but I can confirm that Ellie is very hubba bubba bubblegum girl

As I've mentioned in passing, my OCs were originally going to my own sides, but I very quickly decided I could do more with them as their own people. Ellie was set to be the bulk of my emotions, my vulnerability, and my more childish tendencies. I did not want one side to be morality, because I would have given that job to Logic/Athena, which probably tells you something about me as a person lol.

But she would have taken on Patton's character type, as bubbly, oblivious, honest, childish, and angelic in terms of virtue.

Most of the girls have names that fit them perfectly because of like origins and meanings and even what countries they came from, but not Ellie. I looked it up just now, and it means 'light' which is surprisingly fitting for her.

The reason I named her Ellie was simply after my childhood dog. She (the dog) is very old now, but still with us and deeply loved. We first got her when I was around seven or so, and at the time, I adored the name, and always loved to play pretend using it as my character. When we got the dog, my brother suggested it and here we are 11 years later.

All of my girls embody different parts of me, quite literally, because that was the original plan. Ellie literally has the name I used to play pretend with as a kid, and is the name of my oldest pet.

She's unique in that way, as well as her color scheme even. She's color coded with light blue (nod to pat) and pink. Her hair is dyed blue save the ends, which are still her natural brown for some reason.

As for her personality, Ellie is incredibly sunny. She lights up the room as soon as she walks in, she's so good at charming people with earnest conversation and an easy going excitable nature that draws people in. She's lighthearted, funny, giggly, and has a special knack for understanding people. She can be impulsive, wild, and high energy at all times. Sometimes she's reckless, filled with a deep wonder and adoration for the world around her and the things within it. She feels like she's bubbling over with a profound joy for everything around her.

The world is beautiful, to Ellie. It's gorgeous and overwhelming, but so so worth it.

She can be observant, but only when it comes to a person's character, how they work, what they like, and the things that make them special. She won't notice the new curtains or remember what she had breakfast or lots of other basic things that drive Athena to the brink of insanity, but she knows Athena's tells for when she's especially upset, or the sweater she wears when she's thinking about her boyfriend, or even the food she makes when she didn't sleep well the night before. Ellie is good at people, she understands them on a deep and empathic level, she just doesn't notice that she ran another red light by mistake.

Her emotional intelligence comes across as older than she is. In her late twenties, she manages to carry both her almost innocent giddy personality and her very calm, mature, almost ancient understanding of anyone she comes across. She cares, in an honest and loving way that's so genuine it's nearly startling. She almost effortlessly knows how to comfort people, whatever your love language is when you need it, or even what type of person you need. She can be tender and motherly, she can be playful like a sibling, supportive like a friend, or just a loving figure who'll listen to you when you have nobody else.

She's the closest with Bree, but Ellie is good friends with all of her roommates. She makes a point of coaxing Athena and Luna especially into being more open, and she's managed to get them to open up more, so they're able to have friendships where they can all be vulnerable, even where they hate it.

Ellie really is a special person, on some level she knows it. It isn't through grand gestures or a global impact. She doesn't really care too much about leaving her mark on the world or being infamous. Ellie is just different, she understands people. She loves them. She is unique

Alright I'll give some actual background now. It'll explain some of that.

Ellie grew up pretty middle class, her parents had a rocky relationship even before she came along, but they kept their struggling relationship under wraps and just stewed. Ellie was an only child, as her parents quickly realized that having a child didn't fix anything for them, and having another would just be more difficult.

Ellie would never grow up feeling loved by her mother and father.

She was always provided basic necessities as well as entertainment, but was never close or even wanted around her parents, not unless they were in public.

Her parents weren't rich, but were well established in their social circles. They came from a very large extended family with high expectations for how well a family should get along. From neighborhoods, coworkers, friends, and family, it was important to Ellie's family that they looked like the ideal family.

From as young as six years old, Ellie knew when to smile, when it was okay to hug her parents, and when she was expected to sit in her father's lap or hide behind her mom's leg. It never felt real to her, it just felt right. Mom and Dad smiled and laughed with her in public, dad would scoop her up, bouncing her and saying something silly whenever grandma was watching them. Mom would nod when Ellie made a cute comment to Mom's friend. They never said it explicitly, Ellie just learned what was expected of her, what made Mom and Dad happy.

And Ellie really wanted them to be happy.

They fought and screamed at home. They hated eating dinner together, it always ended up so tense and snappy when they did. Ellie didn't understand the numbers and names they were talking about but they made everything scarier. She never knew when the air would break and it would become a true fight. Ellie would be tersely sent to the other room, and Ellie would sit far back on the couch with her hands in her lap, fists around her dress, and her eyes locked straight ahead. She tried desperately not to hear it, or think about it. It was too scary to listen to the yelling.

She wasn't sure if she loved how they seemed to love her when they weren't fighting, or if she just feared the anxiety that rose and bubbled in her chest when they fought.

So she learned. She learned to do good things. if she cleaned the kitchen, Daddy wasn't as annoyed when he came home. If she complimented Mom's body a whole bunch, she'd be lighter, and less likely to start snapping at Dad. She memorized all of their favorite movies and books, so she could always bring them up or play them on TV. It was a quick way to distract them after dinner, if they made it through dinner at all.

They liked when she was cute and quiet. They liked when she made simple friends and did easy activities with them. They liked when she did arts and crafts to put on the fridge. They liked when she was curious about all the right parts of their jobs. They liked when she made safe lighthearted jokes, but only when the mood was correct.

Ellie learned all of the subjects that set Dad off. Ellie learned what tones lead Mom down an angrier path. She learned when and where to interrupt before either parent upset the other.

When she was ten, her father ended up getting a hefty promotion. It changed their dynamic, for the better at first, but everything quickly came back to the stressful everyday life she was so accustomed to.

Then she met Bree, one of her new neighbors.

Ellie had always worked hard to keep herself under control. Make sure all of her qualities were kept under wraps and easy to digest. She kept her positivity dialed all the way up, kept herself as quiet as possible, and never pursued anything impulsive, loud, adventurous, or unpredictable. There was a deep longing inside of her, that wanted nothing more than to throw on her favorite neon blue cardigan and run barefoot through the park, play with other kids, die laughing at a schoolmate, get messy in the mud on a rainy day, finally listen to loud music and scream it without caring who hears, and do things at the drop of a hat.

As desperately as she wanted it, none of that was an option, not in her family. She wasn't sure if she was angry, even as an adult reflecting on it, she's not sure. Adult Ellie might be angry on her younger self's behalf, but little Ellie wasn't angry, just very very scared, and very sad. Her little body was nearly in tatters trying to keep so much love held back, but there was no one to receive or give her the love she craved.

So she spend her days fantasizing about the person she wished she was, but could never be.

But Bree was like that. Bree was very much like that person she wished she was.

Bree was loud. She loved attention as much as she loved giving it. She liked shiny things and singing at the top of her lungs to songs in a language Ellie doesn't know. She loves swooshy dresses and glitter, and is constantly affectionate with her family and friends. She did fun things, she climbed trees, helped her mom cook, ran down the street to meet with her friends, laughed without monitoring her volume, made messes she begrudgingly cleaned. She could be whiny or pouty, but it never stuck and she was always ready to pull herself up. She was feisty maybe petty, and fun. Bree was so fun and Bree's parents didn't dislike the way she had fun. They reigned her in if she got too wild, but they loved her, even when she was difficult or loud.

It shocked Ellie.

Because it was everything Ellie had every dreamed of, living just three doors down.

Somehow they became friends after meeting a few times at block parties and the local pool, and Ellie was introduced to a brand new world. It was like the planet turned upside down. For the first time in her life, Ellie could be herself.

They could be loud, spontaneous, wild, silly, childish, messy, and everything else a 10 year old child was supposed to be. Bree's house was a safe place, with a family who was charmed by her gentle soul and sweet friendship with their youngest daughter. It was a friendship that saved Ellie from the brink of giving up, even as young as she was.

And life went on.

Ellie had neither the desire or the ability to articulate what her homelife was like, so her friendship with Bree was a simply a solace from it all, and the two grew and remained almost impossibly close. The two even ended up at the same school after the next summer, and their days were filled with each other. Endless memories and shrieks of laughter filling their days.

It was the happiest few years of her entire life thus far.

Then her parents took her out of that school to switch her to another. She silently lamented the loss of seeing Bree daily, but still spent copious amounts of time with her outside of school. Things were still okay, things were still happy. She was okay. Everything was okay. Her parents were difficult, but there was peace, life was worth it, and her love for the world had a place to go. She just had to smile

Then Calypso happened.

Ellie loved Cal. She was accepting another person into her life, almost to the same extent that she trusted Bree. Cal was soft and kind, good and pure and gentle. Calypso was not, and the pain of that betrayal nearly broke her.

She spiraled for weeks, barely sleeping, eating, or even getting out of bed for anything but school. Her parents paid little attention, but Bree's family did express some concern that Ellie's own parents pretended to care about. The fighting had been infinitely worse lately, with nonstop screaming, breaking things, kicking each other out of the house. She wasn't sure if it ever got physical, and she was terrified of finding out. Ellie barely saw them, but when she did, she'd just smile. She was so good at smiling. Smile. Smile. Just smile.

She hated Calypso, missed her, loved her, grieved her, despised her.

But Calypso revealed the truth to her, in a terrible, cruel way that ached just to think about.

Ellie lied in order to survive, and it hurt.

It was that simple.
