On April 22, 2024, students at Cal Poly Humboldt campus in Arcata, California occupied a building in solidarity with Palestinians, precipitating a showdown with police from throughout the region. After a six-hour standoff, the police were compelled to withdraw from campus.

met this comrade and he thinks butch/femme distinctions are caused because the lack of job opportunities and sexist discrimination forces the girls to recreate gender roles with one as the stay at home mom and the other as breadwinner. he is actually one of the most supportive guys when it comes to queer members in the org but he's so cluelessly cishet its cute. in our area, its usually the butch that are underemployed with the femme "passing" as normal to get average white collar jobs. also, butch/femme is a sex thing to a lot of ppl lol.

No one is discrediting the student protests. I myself am a student who is partaking in largely student-coordinated protests, drives, campaigns… but I also understand that we are largely missing the point if coverage of these protests overshadows what they are actually protesting for—the atrocities committed on Palestinians every single day. As the western buzz around this genocide gets more and more coverage, the coverage of the genocide itself sharply declines. It’s true and I see it every single day. Things are not being reported with the precision and diligence they should be.
