I know everyone likes to make fun of Ezra for believing Maul, but I honestly really liked that, because. Like. He's been working so hard to learn to trust people again. His new-found family is teaching him how to open up and how to let himself love others without being too afraid of losing them to connect
And he doesn't immediatly trust Maul, which shows that even if his trust issues are much better now, he's still not stupid and knows to be careful around strangers, especially if you found them inside a Sith Temple
But. Maul shows and tells him what he wants to see; he acts kind with him, reassures him when he's in doubt, and manipulates Ezra (who is a CHILD) into beliving in him so he could get what he wanted
Then he betrays him, and by blinding Kanan, he proves Ezra's 'little me' right

@firesign23 replied to this post:
however prepared you think you are, it'll be worse. Brienne, bless her heart, is not much better. Truly a ship where they hit both 'they need to be together because nobody else understands them' and 'they need to be together so they aren't inflicted on anybody else' (complimentary)
So... if anyone else wants to terrify me in a non-spoilery fashion, feel free to drop by the ask box and gloat. Since I didn't actually live under a rock when Game of Thrones was airing, I know characters' names and vague outlines of some things that happen. I think. For example: the Red Wedding is definitely a thing that happens! What happens there? To the extent that I have an idea, that idea comes mostly from reading eleventh-century chronicles. I think.
Meanwhile, since my last report from the chronicles of Brienne of Tarth just trying to do her job (!) and live up to a code of knightly honor that the rest of this world is tragically uninterested in (!) and keep her hostage from dying on her, the full-time disaster that is her hostage has:
treated her like a human prosthesis (sexy, says the scholar who dabbles in disability studies)
exhibited trauma-induced separation anxiety (with approximately zero self-awareness)
fantasized... about... performing cunnilingus on her? (less than zero self-awareness)
gotten ransomed out from under her (her day keeps getting worse after this)
ridden 20 (?) miles in the dark (!) and vaulted into a bear pit in order to interpose himself bodily between her and fate (...)
said "I dreamed of you" when asked for any kind of remotely satisfactory explanation of the foregoing (sir, that is NOT an explanation)
