What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
This is hard to say, so I guess I will list three LOL. Well, I think first place is definitely A Hyde Only Knows One Thing: Pain. But the runner-ups are Don't Let Go of Me, and Nowhere to Go.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my fics have happy endings because I love happy endings! I love peace and love and joy! But I guess the happiest ending would be Smoke Signals as it is a growing-back-together/reconciliation fics that carries over to Say Yes to Heaven. And I also wanna throw in This Would Have Happened Anyway, which is an old Hunger Games fic I wrote that I plan to go in and re-edit soon haha.
Do you get hate on fics?
Rarely, but yes. I think the only fic I got hate on has been A Burning Hill. Luckily most people are wonderful!
Do you write smut? What kind?
Yes, LOL. Idk what the different kinds of smut are? but I tend to write established relationship smut, it is my fav. I write it pretty graphically, but I like to make it really sweet and comforting. I love romance!
Do you write crossovers?
No, but I think they are neat

Yes!!! Smoke Signals was translated into Thai by the amazing @adogfrmhell :)

Yes! I co-wrote Take You Like A Drug with my bestie @suchaladyy, and also Wash Away Your Woes with @nonamemanga @suchaladyy and @averyaddamsromance ! it is so fun to cowrite with friends : D
What WIP would you like to finish but doubt you ever will?
I know I will finish it, but A Burning Hill! it is just on the backburner for a while longer.
What's your all time favorite ship?
I guess I'd say everlark because they were my first ever ship! they are just so cozy and forever in my heart.
What are your writing strengths?
I'd say showing emotion and imagery! I have been told I am able to make eyes water and hearts swoon hehe
What are your writing weaknesses?
I just wont shut up sometimes LOL, i tend to give almost too many details and too much imagery. Which I know is not inherently a bad thing, but it makes all my writing pieces so goddamn long lol! I start to feel like Bram Stoker writing Dracula XD. And sometimes I feel like my dialogue can be awkward, which I suppose makes it more realistic, so once again not always bad! i am just best at writing neurodivergent characters maybe hahah
thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I have done this very briefly before, but it was just two words in Spanish for a ritual scene! I would not write tons of dialogue in another language unless I had a beta who spoke that language fluently and who could translate and make sure the translation made sense.

The Walking Dead! when i was like 12 I wrote TWD fanfic on wattpad LOL.

Early morning! Like, so early that when I tell people when I usually wake up, they're like "are u ok?" Haha seriously though, it's the best because as long as I keep discord off, I have no distractions. It's lovely.
Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
Wellllll I'm currently on the third (and maybe final?) edit of the last chapter of the cyborg!AU I've shared some lines from. Lemme see if I can try to summarize this. I'm absolutely terrible at summaries and still need to write one for the fic, so maybe this will help XD;;;
The basic premise is the same as canon, with one change: there's an experimental GAR/Kaminoan program called the Cyclone Initiative that 'enlists' clones who have sustained life-ending injuries—specifically serious brain injuries. With the help of Skakoan cyberneticists, the Kaminoans scientists replace damaged 'components' with cybernetic analogs in an effort to bring the new cyclones online.
Completed units are to be placed throughout the GAR as part of this experimental program. Most cyclones will have lost any memories of their past lives, but in addition to being able to physically keep up with standard clones in the field, the cybernetic parts of their brain will allow them to perform complex calculations that make them valuable partners for ARFs, ARCs, and higher-ranking officers.
And here's a little snippet from the first chapter:
Commander Cody nods. "I see. Thank you for the information, Specialist." He pauses again, seeming to consider his words before he continues, "The Cyclone Initiative materials I received stated that most of you don't have memories from before your injuries. Is that true?"
CY-11-0074 nods. "Yes, sir. Cyclones possess some cybernetic components to both replace and enhance the function of organic components that were irreparably damaged in combat. The one augmentation that is common to all cyclones is the partial replacement of brain tissue, though the percentage depends on the extent of the original injury and the intended function of the completed unit."
Corporal Boil's upper lip twitches faintly at that, but CY-11-0074 continues, intent on answering the commander's question." I did not retain—" He swallows again; his mouth is dry. "I am... unsure if I retained any information from... before."
As with my of my fics, it starts out fairly ouchie, but the whole point of the fic is to make a lot of things better.

4. How do you choose which fics to write?
ig it depends on how obsessed my brain is with the random plot bunnies hopping around in my head? When I start thinking up narration sentences, that's when I know a particular idea wants to be written. Doesn't mean I always do it, though (in an ideal world with infinite free time, maybe...)
6. What’s the last line you wrote?
I haven't written in so long I don't even remember 😭
Looking at one of my latest wips, probably this one because it's incomplete lmao:

12. Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines? How far do you stray from them?
Usually not, and then it comes to bite me in the ass when it's ten months since I plotted the idea and I don't remember what I was planning to do 😅
There's one fic that's an exception cuz it's a fusion AU type of thing so I'm planning carefully how it follows (or not) the original's plot. Well, idk if I'll actually write the fic actually, maybe in this case the outline will be all there is, as a fun exercise for myself XD
19. Do you enjoy creating OCs or do you prefer to stick solely to canon characters?
I love creating OCs, but like, they need a purpose. An OC just for the sake of having an OC or self-insert isn't my kind of thing (no shade to those who do, I'm just not wired that way), but depending on the story I might need to flesh out a supporting cast. And I love it when they slowly take life and develop.
Minah was a really fun case because she was supposed to be a kind of "throwaway" role, only there for a scene or two. She wasn't even planned like she turned out to be (I originally imagined her younger, for example). But then she... just happened lol. Within a few lines of her dialogue I was in love with her and she was just so fun to write, in a way she wormed her way into a bigger role than intended and I'm really glad she did because it works out so well in so many ways. Funny how things go sometimes 😂
honestly my OCs often end up surprising me in one way or another haha. rare are those who stick to the plan

27. What area of writing do you feel strongest in?
Battle scenes, apparently 8)
30. How much do you edit your fics? Do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?
I actually... don't edit that much 😅
ig in a way I edit in my head before I write? I've always been like that tbh, even at school--what I write down (whether fic, essay, translation...) is often very close to the final version. Of course I go over it a couple times once I'm done and tweak a few things here and there, but it's usually minor stuff. Sometimes I end up redoing entire scenes/chapters because I feel something's not working, but it's rather rare when it happens.
37. What fic has been the hardest for you to write?
Probably Fractured Lives? There's a reason it's only gotten five updates in nine years so far. I have to be in a very specific mood to write it, which doesn't happen often. A pity, cuz I liked the concept...
49. What fic of yours would you say is the best introduction to you as a writer?
I'd say The Best Laid Plans. It's got my particular brand of humor, and also some kickass battle scenes :p
Another one would be Strong Currents, cuz worldbuilding (plus getting Gaius and Wingul to have emotional talks lolol)
61. In Concubinage, what’s your favorite scene that you wrote?
Probably Lin and Arst's first kiss. It's such a significant moment<3
65. If you wrote a sequel to Concubinage, what would happen in it?
I am actually vaguely planning a sequel if I can finish it. Basically it'd be the events/plot of the game, but with all the changes in settings brought about by the events of Concubinage. I'll have to think carefully about what will change, what will stay the same, and what will be a slightly different spin on things that'll still happen. I think the main difficulty will be to juggle Milla's journey with Gaius&Wingul being the main characters without them overtaking the plot. And also how close or different it should be to canon...
74. Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love?
Among my least kudosed ones, I'd say Chaos in the Ballroom (my Tales Big Bang fic). I know it's a bit different from my usual stuff, and relies heavily on knowledge about Agria's side story, but I put a lot of thought in that one.

How many works do you have on AO3?
Okay so my Ao3 account is relatively new, I only got it in 2019 and started posting more regularly in 2020-21. I only have 12 on AO3 but I have written many more that I have not posted, and on my ancient, abandoned ff dot net account which will remain unnamed and unlinked I had posted around 30 I think? So many uncompleted and unposted or completed but not posted for one reason or another though lol.
What’s your total AO3 word count?
AO3 - 15,233. I tend to write short fics because any long writing I have the brain attention for ends up being my original fiction haha.
Because I was curious though I also did the math on my old ff dot net account and - 89,604. And I know there were 3 novel length fics I never got around to posting from back in the ff dot net days because I was going to post a chapter a week and then... forgot lol.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Oh boy. Um. So many. So the first book I started to write was a self-insert Scooby-Doo fanfic where I was a member of Mystery Inc. We were going to take on The Bubblegum Phantom, a phantom haunting a bubblegum factory. I wrote one and a half pages on yellow cardstock, and also drew a cover and back I was very proud of. I think it's still in a bin somewhere in my parent's house.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I wrote SO MUCH angsty Sherlock fic back in the day... most angsty would be the one where I killed off John Watson. I made all my friends cry. I was not sorry.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Most of what I write is short fic that tends to either be hurt/comfort, bittersweet or pure fluff so I’m finding this one harder to answer? I guess happiest ending would be the one where I did not kill off Ezra Bridger? XD Above mentioned Shot in the Dark.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I had a full out Hunger Games x every other fandom I was in at the time where I - you guessed it - took two characters from each fandom and threw them into the Hunger Games. I never did finish it but I think that definitely wins for craziest. XD also did a bit of Wholock and though that's not crazy by tumblr standards I got super into obsessively making it fit with the timelines XD

maybe yeah but I’m not brave enough to share it

I have!! Mainly in RP format with a friend and then I edited it into a postable fic. (with the support and permission of the friend of course!!) This was back in the Sherlock days though and I am not sharing it lol.

Vax x Keyleth (Critical Role), Kanan x Hera (Star Wars: Rebels), and Rapunzel x Eugene (Tangled) are my top three.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
so many (cries) Probably the above mentioned Everything I Ever Thought I Knew which was supposed to make the Dark Prince twist at the end of RTA Season 2 make more sense to me. I really enjoyed the bits I wrote, and for a while I was writing and posting it every morning on the bus on my way to work... but that was the beginning of March 2020 so.... stuff happened and killed my motivation streak and was in a super bad headspace for a while, and I honestly don't think I will ever go back to it which makes me :( </3
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, word choice, characterization/characters, emotion. I was once told by someone who reads my writing that I have a good instinct for wording and flow, and that I tend towards layered, emotionally vivid lines, like my content is higher than average per word count, and that has lived rent free in my brain as being one of the best compliments I have ever gotten.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Length. I under-write when it comes to my original fiction and in revision and rewriting have to build things up to an actual novel length, and when it comes to fics and short stories I write in spurts and bits and pieces scattered every where that have to then be reassembled into something that's an actual readable length and not a paragraph of dialogue I wrote in the notes section of my phone because I was thinking about my blorbos. Also setting the scene/describing locations and action is also hard for me.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
If the characters speak multiple languages then it would be silly not to include it! I didn't use to have a preference whether it was in italics or not, but it was recently pointed out to me that can be rather "othering" and I think that's important to keep in mind.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Well Scooby-Doo, as mentioned above XD but the first fandom I posted for was How to Train Your Dragon. I had a full three ring binder of my How to Train Your Dragon sequel series timelines, plots, outlines, character profiles, etc after the first movie and before even the first HTTYD show came out, long before the second or third movie XD
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I... don't know?? I've been trying to think, but I don't think I can choose. I think they have all been what I needed in that moment of writing them. So I am going to be unhelpful and not answer this one lol.

Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
definitely daydream the scenarios - i think visually in terms of a comic or animation format first of all, but since a lot of the comic stuff is gonna be in the fic anyway i just end up writing it out anyway hehe
Do you work on multiple wips or stick to one fic at a time?
one at a time yes. but then again, i only *have* one right now xD
now doodles or animations, however? multiple at once LMAO
Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?
i jump around! i'll write whatever scene i've got that's the most clearly visualized in my head first - i basically see it as a movie in my mind and just try to describe what i'm seeing haha - and then i'll edit that if needed, then write the scenes around it, then edit those and come back to make sure it all flows well together :)

43) Is there a trope or idea that you’d really like to write but haven’t yet?
Omg sometimes I feel like I've done every trope there is haha I joke sometimes that I just write in tropes with the occasional conjunction. I don't think I've ever done like a bet scenario where a character goes out with someone because of a dare, and I think this would be super fun to do!
55) Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
Omg YES!! I am so bad for this actually! Sometimes I'm writing something and I get this awful feeling like I've read it before and I'm like I hope I'm not plagiarizing.. and then it ends up being word for word something I've already written! It is so weird and I really have to watch out for it but you'll probably find instances where I've done this and I really hope you don't go looking for them lol
In more general terms though, I am quite fond of the witty banter between friends and love interests and I think that most of my fics have at least some of this going on. I have a lot of fun writing dialogue and sometimes I think I might be overusing it but I can't stop won't stop haha Actually, that's a lie, I edit pretty heavily XD

Hm, I was thinking along the lines of accident (maybe they and Winn's kid were messing with some weird stuff and the Karamel kiddos ended up in the past?) but a mix of both would be fun as well, like, imagine the kiddos accidently stumbling into the past and realizing that some details are horribly wrong (e.g., maybe that Robot was never supposed to show up originally and someone is messing with the timeline?) and need to get their parents back together if they don't want themselves and their (very happy, karamel-ly) future to vanish into nothing🤔🤔😅😂

Oh, I had a music fic idea in my head. Kara being kicked out of a girls pop band - thanks to Lobotomizer who is jealous of Kara's amazing vocal skills. And kara ends drunk in a bar where Eve finds her. Eve is a girflriend of Winn, who is manager of a symphonic power metal (don't mind my metal loving ass xD) band, where Mon-El is the lead guitarist. The main vocal of the bad kicked their asses and left the band just before they started touring with a new album and they are fucked if they don't find replaement. And well, none candidate is good enough and then Eve drags runken Kara to their place, they recognize a pop girl and are imediatelly NO FUCKING WAY, she is pissed off and screams and tehy are like... oh, she can scream.... Later Kara wakes up in her apartment, with aching head and some asshole knokicng to the door. It's Mon-El who came to take her to rehersal. What rehersal? He shows her a signed by her contract that makes her a part of the metal band, yay! And you can imagine the troubles along the way xD Thought about making Kara being taught by Cat Grant in the past, who was a classical vocal teacher and Cat being dissapointed when Lena asked Kara to join her band. And Kara really spreading her wings in the new position etc. And of course karamel bickering along the way, fans being super sceptical but warming up to her, because her vocal is amazing and karamel falling in love etc. Oh, and imagine Kara asking the badn what she should wear on the stage and they are like, dunno, wear whatever you want, and she wears some pink things xD and the crowd when they first sees her is like O.O and then she starts singing and all are floored.

None! I’m honestly constantly blown away by the attention I’ve already gotten!

Always! Have yet to have any haters (I’m sure they’re coming, and I’ve already started drafting ways to leave a snarky reply before freezing the thread lol) but I really love chatting with people and appreciate them putting in the extra effort, even if it’s just a keyboard smash or a string of emojis!
What sorts of things do you normally write?
Angst, fluff, and lots and lots of AUs!! I look fondly at canon, pick up my favorite characters to hug close, and toss the rest out the window. It’s very freeing lol
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Mmm, probably Shadow of Death? I am particularly fond of happy endings, so this one is more of an open ending than anything else, but it definitely leaves people hanging a little ;)
What’s a fic that pushed you out of your comfort zone?
A Series of Moments was probably the closest I’ve ever come to truly writing dark fic, and it definitely made me stretch my muse, even knowing the happy ending had already been written. I think it turned out very well though!
Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not... really? The only one I have posted on AO3 is my Batman/Big Hero 6 fusion that really only involved Baymax (Human Pinatas and Robot Doctors) but I have a fairly extensive DC/Star Wars crossover that I worked on quite a bit in my youth! Never finished it, and it’s horribly self-indulgent, but it was fun at the time and was technically my first fanfic!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Just this year, in fact. It was such a huge compliment to be asked!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have! Secret Caverns: Raider of the Lost Ark was my very first dip in the pool of round robin-ing through Discord, and Inky made it so much fun! And the afore mentioned Shadow of Death was written with @luthienluinwe and had some truly fantastic imagery! Currently, I’m working on what has turned into a massive story with @workingchemistry and it’s been SO fun! It’s solidly over 100k now, but we probably need a beginning before we can start posting... And some editing. So. Much. Editing. 😂
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Well, I’m definitely not ever finishing that DC/Star Wars AU lol, but I hold out hope that some of my others (JayTim Vikings, Serial Killer!Tim, etc) will eventually get finished. It’s mostly a matter of limited Time and Energy haha
What are you currently working on?
The Playmating AU with Chem, the last few chapters of How to Start Living, the sequel to Honest Men, Secret Project That I Shall Not Name, and Oy! What a Knight. I’ve also still got some prompts that I’m working on, but they’ve been chilling on the back burner until I can get some of my other projects wrapped up!

Lord, asking the hard questions, aren’t ya? Hmm.... It’s really got to be Honest Men. That fic (which is now actually a trilogy with three separate arcs, only the first of which is totally done) is one that I started before I posted anything else, and there’s so many layers to it that I’m really excited to see people’s reactions once things start to unravel. I even have a motif worked into it!
What fic are you most proud of?
All of them!

Ahhh, always, even when I don't know how to answer. I just love so much getting any reaction to what I wrote that answering in the least I can do!

Ohh, the first part of Fool Me (or the one I wrote just to prove myself I could write some angst). But if general, the fall (or the one where James lives, but Sirius dies as in canon).

Most of Eyes Glistening is happy, haha, but I'll say Five Stages of Starflower. When I got stuck in the middle, I went with "hey, how can I write the happiest silliest ending? And then it was finished".

Hmmm, I may have deleted something these days because I realized I wouldn't finish it and it bothered me? Anyway, I've posted a few of my WIP-without-progress here. It happens. I shouldn't post anything before deciding to finish it, ops.
What are your writing strengths?
Sometimes I type enough words that they make sense. I can make things seem so connected that it feels as if I had planned all along. And I try to write characters that make sense.
What are your writing weaknesses?
English is not my first language, so I always feel I lack words. I won't ever be able to write fluid prose as some authors I admire here. Also, I lose patience whenever something I'm writing demands more time than I originally thought (hence the unfinished wips)
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I tried for French once, but my knowledge of French was very little. I like if, you know, the author knows what's writing XD

Harry Potter!

THIS BLOG IS ALIVE! LET US CELEBRATE WITH ART AND NEWS
Heyyyyyyyy errbody! Haha so yes, it's been almost a year, but now things are finally back on track and on the move again. And I'm not just saying that this time - in fact, I have proof! Proof that is, in and of itself, CRAZY BONKERS COOL. Without further ado, I give thee cover mock-ups for the Blood Chains novelization (also featuring the revised arc titles):
See? Crazy bonkers cool, right? Makes me feel like I'm already holding the books in my hands. ;v; Gosh, I've been desperate to show you these ever since the artwork was finished, but I wanted to finish proofreading/editing the fic first. (You know, for printing purposes. I love saying that out loud.)
The absolutely stunning artwork for Arcs I & II is done by none other than the wonderful @charseraph (I helped sketching a part of the chains in the cover for Arc II 😄), and the art for Arc III was 100% done by none other than me, Fooey! (Why yes, I'm proud as hell, actually 👑) The art is final, but the cover designs and fonts are subject to change - these were just quick experimental mockups I made with the first app trial I found for the purpose, so there are definitely not going to be watermarks on the final covers, haha. XD
So what's gonna happen now is starting from tomorrow, I'll put my focus on putting this blog together. I aim to have all the practicalities for the novelization project figured out by the end of May (though I have to say there are a LOT of variables in Foo's life at the moment that could potentially get in the way, but it's good to have goals, right? And it's not necessarily an unrealistic one), and hopefully the actual books will be out soon after that. Once that's done, I can finally get started on the extra chapters! Wohoo! I also really really really want to start making chapter art for the main story. Doing the third cover artwork all by myself gave me a hell of a boost in mojo and confidence, but I still have a long way to go. I'm excited and pumped regardless! For all the things! And I hope you are too. 😁
Oh, also! The chapters posted on Ao3 (the Tumblr versions are still a work in progress, but should be all done by tomorrow night) are all proofread and edited now, but getting a second opinion/double-check would be immensely helpful. So if any of you is feeling up for a reread or just happen to spot something wonky while skimming through a chapter any one of these days, please let me know! I'm a little bit nervous about the whole "can't edit the text after it's printed" thing, haha. 😅
If you want to preorder a printed novelization of Blood Chains for yourself, let me know! (It's free real estate fan sequel!) I'm going to make a more "official" promo post for the novelization project once the final covers are done, but if you want to reblog this one, I'm not stopping ya :D

4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
Hm, basically what I like to read as well which is fantasy and mystery/crime with some other things sprinkled in it here and there, but fantasy and mystery are the main ones.
(Though I am realising that mystery is an absolute pain to write.)
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
Uh.
Uhm.
I don't know? I guess it's just I take in as much as I can from music/books/movies/shows/posts/etc. and then it gets all shaken up and I end up with something at some point? I can't think of anything more specific ._.
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
Yes, though most of the time it's less "criticisms" and more "friendly point-outs" I think? Just last chapter, someone told me that Catholic priests actually don't marry and have children. I had actually looked that up and decided that Marcel's simply a convert and was married and had a child beforehand because that's okay - well, nowadays, yes, but I didn't check any dates and was a hundred years off with this^^' They are now all Protestants.^^' (I'm not Christian and not very religious or very versed in religion-related things ._. Was a bit embarrassing...)
I can't think of much else. I was once told that the Frankenstein joke from Ch9 is too long and maybe I should cut or omit it, but that's an answer for the reverse of the question because I didn't amend it.
Most amendments I think are because I want to change things. I don't change too much though so that I am not throwing people off too much. I want to make larger changes, but I guess it's better that I don't (I may rewrite too much).
15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
It's a mix of "using the first name that came to my mind", "going on Behind the Name or another name site and looking at the lists until I find a name I like", "using random name generators until I get a name I like", "naming a character after another character", and "carefully picking a name." (The last two often intertwine.) Or: "naming a character after someone I know."
Basically, I do everything hah.
For example:
"Kristopher" is the first name that came to my mind that starts with a "K". (I low-key wish I had picked something else.) "Cecelia" was just a name I thought was pretty.
"Aurèle" is the product of a Behind the Name hunt. So are "Arnaud", "Jacques", and "Gérard".
Most Nanteuil residents got a randomly generated name hah.
Anais is named after Anais from The Amazing World of Gumball.
Marcel is named after a former history teacher of mine that looked like Jesus 👀
The Disaster Trio's names are a bit more complicated...
They are named after characters from KHR and based on them as well :)
Hayato ("haya" is falcon, "to" is person) Gokudera --> Falk Hermann ("mann" is man, so it's also person)
Takeshi ("Takeshi" means military in this case) Yamamoto ("yama" is mountain) --> Cadell (means battle) Beaumont ("mont" is mountain)
Ryohei (no idea what the right meaning for his kanji is, but the name can, i.a., mean peace) Sasagawa --> Geoffrey ("frey" --> "frid" means peace) Bentley (the first part means "bent grass"; Ryohei is nicknamed Grass Head)
"Disaster Trio" is something from an old KHR FF of mine^^ Though that trio consisted of 3 other characters.
(EDIT: Minutes after hitting "publish", I realised I've been listening to the three singing "Familia" while writing this XD)
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
I admire many! I could go on and on, but I'll just pick my favourite ones :)
(I'm not quite sure if the question refers to published writers or writers of fanfiction, so let's do both.)
Derek Landy (Skulduggery Pleasant) - I'm terrible at fight scenes. His? Great. I love them. His dialogues are also so much fun. It's all fun and games and then he hits you with a brick of devastation :')
V. E. Schwab (Shades of Magic, Monsters of Verity...) - She also has lovely fight scenes and her writing style is so, so pretty.
Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles) - She's SO good with multiple POVs. The POVs keep adding up in the Lunar Chronicles and by
"Winter", there are like 10 different ones and they are all distinct and easily distinguishable. Also, I've never been so anxious reading anything like I read the last parts of Cinder/Scarlet/Winter (and I got a genuine shudder reading the last bit of Heartless). If she ever writes a thriller, maybe it will finally be one that will actually "thrill" me.
All three are also genuinely nice people^^
I have to say: I don't actually read much fanfiction...^^' I used to read a bunch a few years ago. I only got back into reading more FFs in the last few months...
FollowTheMagpie is after all these years still one of my favourites. Dropped an amazing piece of writing and then dipped. Never uploaded anything again. Such an icon.

Yes, some.
In real life, it's just my sister (my brother's suspicious haha). A bunch of my internet friends know too^^

I’ll give a different answer this time. One of my saddest is Together or Not at All. It’s basically just me being miserable about the Ponds and 11 for about 4K words. And surprise! No little happy ending right at the last second. Just sadness.

Imma go with cinnamon and sugar, sprinkles and smoke. its not my usual fare, only minimal angst and some tooth rotting fluff ajsjs

I love crossovers so much. The doctor who/tua one has currently taken over my life. Idk about craziest… I wrote one with the hobbit and Sherlock (is that crazy or just cringe?), the dumbest one was once upon a time/doctor who, ha, I’m not going to explain, there’s firefly/doctor who crossover that will forever go unfinished because I wrote it so long ago… wait actually, the craziest crossover I ever wrote I never published! River Song played Mrs. Bennet in some pride and prejudice mini series and the eleventh doctor played Mr. Collins in PPZ So I did a crossover just to be stupid. (I’m realizing a lot of these involve doctor who… which makes sense because doctor who was my first major fandom, really.)

Yep. Thankfully nothing super bad tho.

no escape from reality this was a duck tales fic! I was writing it based off of a super talented artist’s comics, with her permission of course. She ended up deleting her tumblr and vanishing off the face of the planet for personal reasons. so all the comics I referenced Uh kind of vanished and also it was left incomplete so im,,, probably never gonna finish. really hope she’s doing alright tbh
What are your writing strengths? I try to stay as in character as possible (don’t always achieve it ajaks) but I think I manage pretty good overall. Not making things too wordy, I suppose.
What are your writing weaknesses? Haha on the flip side, I tend to make things too short XD also planning out fics/writing drafts. Those are things I… don’t do. I generally don’t plan out a fic until I’m halfway through it. And generally I only write long fic because I want to write one specific scene,,, so might be part of the reason I have so much trouble finishing things
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
If a character would say it, I try to write it (if it’s not too complex).
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
According to ff.net, the first fandom I ever published a fic for was either frozen or doctor who.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I’m picking different ones from last time. So I really liked how i am and always will be the optimist, the hoper of far flung hopes, and dreamer of improbable dreams turned out. i’m a believer (and i couldn’t leave if i tried) turned out to be one of my longest fics. And it’s always darkest before the dawn is actually my favorite Babylon 5 fic out of the other ones I’ve written. Plus it was so much fun to play around with the body horror stuff ajsjs

Such Fragile Things
Fandom: Castlevania (I wrote it for the Netflix series, but it works for SOTN too!)
Summary: Dracula thought love was soft, and breakable...but what he feels holding his newborn son is anything but. || Some Dracula and and Adrian feels.
Character focus: Dracula

Chapter 1: His Son's Life
Dracula did not read romance novels. He wasn’t really one for novels in general, especially written by humans. Science. Philosophy. Medicine. Not flights of fantasy.
But the humans have a word for this…and it isn’t quite scientific.
That word is ‘love.’
…But that can’t possibly cover it.
But ‘love’ was always a silly little notion. Love was flowers and candy. Love was sappy letters and maudlin advances. ‘Love’ was sensitive and easy to break. ‘Love’ was soft.
But this… this is anything but soft.
This is a thing that does the breaking. It is painful, and sharp in the way it pierces him so thoroughly. It is tethered so tightly around his heart, that if he tried to sever its bonds his heart would burn, and quite possibly break.
This is daggers and I’d die for you. This is a stake stabbed through the chest.
And that is not what he knows of love.
The the baby boy murmurs quiet nonsense beside his sleeping mother.
Vlad stands over the cradle—(a cradle his parents made out of metal, and cotton, and dedication)—the fabric soft against his fingers.
His mother. A human. Completely, and thoroughly. No turning necessary. He could have turned her…but that would have sullied the pink of her cheeks, the red of her lips, the blue of her eyes.
So many humans are out for blood without thirst involved. He needn’t corrupt one that didn’t experience such desires.
Just an ordinary human, who was either brave or very stupid… or maybe a bit of both to walk straight into the demon’s castle. Maybe she was just curious. …He hoped it wouldn’t kill her one day, like the cat who meant well.
His mother. Lisa. With golden hair, and certain shimmer to her words too.
His father. Dracula. A vampire. The vampire. The king of night and all its hordes. A scary story, full of blood and death and the moon was full that night.
—(Could he even be a father after all that killing? Was there a father behind all that bloodshed? Dare he even try to keep something alive, when these hands were constructed to kill?)—
And Adrian. Just born, already with one foot in each world. Half human. Half vampire. The stars dripped from the ceiling, and the sun spilled in through the window.
Would they hurt him for it?
Would this fact grant him safe passage into both worlds, or make him hated by both? Had he cursed this being to a life of not belonging? Or had he given him an opportunity no one else had; to belong to both?
Would being Dracula’s son make him a villain? Or would it make him a prince? Would the humans fear and hate him? Would the vampires bow to him?
Would being Lisa’s son make him a hero? Would the humans accept him as one of them? Would the vampires exile him as a half-breed, impure, no matter if his father had a castle, and a crown, and fangs all too ready to sink into their necks?
Barely noticeable now, he has golden hair like his mother, and fangs like his father.
…He wonders how this creature, so full of light, could come from the king of night.
Then Adrian starts crying.
The king of night is uh…not equipped for this. He’s never comforted a crying child before. He’s made more than a few cry in his time, but he’s never been on the other end…it seems the much more difficult side of things.
He has half—(okay, more than half)—a mind to wake Lisa for help. …But Lisa has done enough for today. Surely he can handle one crying baby.
Vlad is careful not to let his nails pierce the child’s skin as he scoops him up, cradling him in his arms.
Adrian is so small. It doesn’t feel like he’s made of thumping, pumping blood and bone. He feels as if he’s made of glass, and Dracula fears he’ll shatter in his hands.
Dracula has killed so many things in his life. He has killed humans, and animals and, yes, another vampire or two. But he doesn’t want to kill this one. He is so desperate to keep him alive he thinks he might die himself before he saw anything touch him.
Lisa stirs, and Vlad moves the child further away so as not to wake her. He sits in the chair in the corner of the room, by the basket full of toys he will soon play with, and the alphabet charts he will soon learn with.
Dracula did not read romance novels. But he had once heard a lullaby, and he wonders if he can remember the lyrics.
At the gentle song, slowly Adrian calms down in his father’s arms, and looks up at him with those golden eyes.
And Dracula wonders if the world was always this big.
Vampire’s eyes are usually so cold and dark. But he is only half dark, and his eyes are full of sunlight.
He looks up at his father, this dark thing, the killer, the monster king. The creature they said could never learn to love.
And Adrian smiles.
When Dracula returns that smile, it is not an evil sneer tugging at his lips. It is like his face breaks, pouring out all the joy inside him. He leans forward and rests his forehead gently upon Adrian’s.
“My boy.”

First of all, stay tuned, because I'm probably going to post another chapter of this!! (Fair warning, though, it's gonna be pretty different from this one tonally...though very much related, and feels-inducing!!)
Don't know if anyone will believe me, but this is actually the first Castlevania fic I ever wrote!! This was actually the precursor to “If These Walls Could Talk”!!
I was playing with how to start the scene, and I started describing that "Castlevania was not a good place to raise a child" thing that starts off “If These Walls Could Talk”. Then the way I was describing it started sounding like I was personifying the Castle, and then I was like WAIT THAT'S A BETTER IDEA XD So I kinda got more interested in that idea, haha! (By the way, if any of the lines from this fic are also in If These Walls Can Talk too, now you know why XD I didn't intend for there to be any repeats though.)
Then a little while later I got a really nice prompt asking me to write a diary-style fic about Drac and Lisa recounting Adrian's birth, and I was thinking this ^^ fic and its images would work really well for it, so I didn't post it after that because I thought I'd reconfigure it for the diary thing.
I loved the prompt, but diary-style implies first person...and first person is really tough for fanfiction, and even more so a character like Dracula. It's weird, I love going into characters internal monologue, and I love first person (at least I do as far as my original writing goes), but in fanfiction when I try to write first person it feels almost like "I don't have a right to say I know directly what they're thinking"??...but it's weird, cuz I pretty much already do that...
Sorry, I'm rambling! I really hope I can still write that diary fic at some point, but at the moment I'm still struggling, haha.
I've been wanting to get better at editing faster, and posting more often. Lately I've been going through my old/unfinished fics and trying to polish them up and post them, even if they're not perfect in my eyes. So I decided to go back to this one and finish it up anyways! If I do the diary one I guess I'll just have to use other images!

hmm i think percabeth from pjo would count as my first, but for like discovering fandom content, it would be fourtris, from divergent haha which is actually how i discovered fanfiction (i searched up alternate endings for allegiant bc i hated the ending...and found fics LMAO), but my first big phase was probably more like thg & everlark

khunbam: they would die for each other and also make such an amazing team?? (hello wave controller and light bearer combo) and just ugh theyre so good for each other if i keep going im gonna go on a tangent haha
zukka: i just think zuko and sokka work well together and idk i know like maiko is canon but i dont think they would be very healthy for each other? and just like, idk they went to boiling rock together and like sokka actually tells zuko about yue and jahljdf they’d just be gr9 together

khunbam: at some point i was like YOUR HONOR THEYRE GAY somewhere in s2 i just had the realization like, wtf theyre totally in love
zukka: after i finished atla and poked around fandom, and i found i really liked the zukka ship

hmm okay probably catoxkatniss, i think i read it bc a friend recced to me? and so i read a few fics on it but i always felt bad when peeta was made out to be the bad guy or whatever so yea i would say i dont really ship that anymore, and for others i would say i just kinda lost my hyperfixations rip lmao but i still ship them

:D Thanks so much for the ask!!! This was so much fun!
1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
Ahh, this is a hard question!! It’d actually been an idea on my mind for a while. I’ve always wanted to write something serious, without unnecessarily indulgent pieces or actions. I don’t think I actually accomplished that, but the scraps I didn’t cut out felt mostly okay despite that. It’s a bit random, but a lot of parts of this fic were inspired by things I’ve seen through volunteering, to get patient exposure and stuff.
The missing persons center, with all the pamphlets on community resources, was something I made up, but I worked somewhere similar to it last summer. For a long time, I was so frustrated with how physical distance could be such an enormous barrier, especially when you have no connections. A lot of that ended up in this fic, and even though some of it was unintentional, I really hoped to write it as a realistic obstacle.
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
Yes, definitely!! Most of them aren’t worth mentioning, but for the most part, I kept trying to write the exwires working together with Yukio to help Rin. There were a bunch of points in the first chapter where he could have teamed up with them, and I thought it could be fun to write. I also wrote a short part where he accepts Shima’s help in the beginning, but it felt like all the momentum I was trying to build up just paused, so he ended up doing everything on his own.
There was also something I wanted to do with chapter 2, but it kind of derailed. The original premise of this fic is just Rin goes to find Yukio after the war. I figured it would be good for him to take a while searching. In the middle of that, he was going to run into some kind of problem, like the disease. As he’s trying to fix that, he’d somehow find Yukio, and then the main conflict would be Rin trying to convince him to help or go home.
I’ve kept all the scraps I took out, so maybe someday I’ll clean them up into a deleted scenes chapter or something like that. ^^
11: What do you like best about this fic?
Haha, technically the thing I like best about it is something I haven’t quite finished writing yet, but I’m rather fond of the way it’s hard to tell what’s going on? XD It was hard to write, and I’m sure it came off as really confusing, but it was fun to write the reveal near the end.
:) I guess I also like the amount of time I spent on it. Most of my other fics have much shorter chapters, and before writing this one, I never edited nearly as much. Still, that makes me really want to end it well, and I’ve been kind of stuck on how to get there. >. <
13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story?
Ohhh, I listened to a ton of stuff!! I actually remember listening to 紫 when I came up with the idea, and that kind of dreamy feel stuck with me for a long time as I was writing Rin’s chapter. The one I really like listening to is sung by 郭沁, and it’s on Youtube, but anyway, her voice is super pretty! :D
There’s another one I really like called 吹梦到西洲, and it’s really pretty too! I also listened to a ton of Fall Out Boy songs, especially Light ‘Em Up. Haha, my taste in music is kind of all over the place.
