My spider senses tingled watching the second episode. I checked the manga afterwards, and yes! McMillan wasn't that tall! They stretched the boy, making Ciel look even smaller than he is 😭 Give him a little stool to stand on, omg.

XD #mcmillan has always been my no.1 fav kuro character #(I hope you could tell XD) #so getting him animated is super exciting to me^^ #anyway: chapter updates will be extra uncertain during the S4 run for various reasons! #(not just because of the season) #but I'll still try to be active here on this blog! #I promised to do certain posts and I will!!! #also if we FINALLY get a 'breather' chapter animated #we'll get a cloudia mention this season!! #which is exciting too! #(cloverworks - don't let 85 die like 14 23 37 and 66 please) #(maybe I'll finally use that mcmillan side blog I made years ago for starts of the night XD or just you know occasionally bother you here) #(though most of it will be on my main <3 and elsewhere^^)

Oh, yes. There are few people (still) actively following the fic, I think, but I'm very lucky that they are all very nice people!^^ Never really thought of them as "little fan base" orz

Ah, you do like that? Very happy to hear! I planned to do a large "making of" chapter/post when I finally finish this arc because there are many things that changed a lot and other things that I considered and rejected, etc. But that's still a long way to go^^' I could do smaller-scale "behind the scenes" stuff in the meantime though! And research stuff and writing stuff too, sure. (Though I don't exactly have a writing technique...) Thanks!

Because this fic has been my hyperfixation for 4 years, this may have been a fever dream, but was there something about Oscar knowing UT is a reaper? I have a memory of him telling Cloudia something “-about that grim reaper” right at the end of a chapter

A commenter on Ao3 said they get worried when I don't update the fic/this blog for a long time, so I'm now trying my best to show that I am still alive.^^' I only don't really know what to post about orz Anything someone wants to see/know? You know, apart from more frequent chapter updates.

No, not a fever dream! You are correct that Oscar knows that Cedric is a Grim Reaper. He said that to Cloudia in the intermission's (The Reaper, Hosting a Party) flashback section.

The current set of "Oscar" flashbacks will not stay in 1843 (the next flashback will be the last one set in that year); the continuation of that intermission conversation will also be part of these flashbacks :)

Oscar and Trudy's friend. XD

I've been thinking about them before I began writing the 1843 flashback for the last chapter and was rather happy he ended up getting mentioned in the end.

He, despite being such a background character who never appeared and whose name you don't even know yet, is quite important to the story.

If he hadn't loved Trudy enough (as a friend) to steal from their scary landlord, Oscar and Trudy would have never met. If he hadn't told Oscar to get a grip and propose, they wouldn't have got married either. Or at least not when they did. If Oscar had never known Trudy (or hadn't been married to her by 1825), he would have never met Simon under those particular circumstances, just as the Watchdog years later when Scotland Yard came to be. Those sketchbook pages wouldn't exist. They wouldn't have worked together like they did. Cloudia would have never got Oscar out of the asylum and made him an AoE. (Oscar might have never ended up in an asylum in the first place too.)

Things would have been quieter. Trudy would still be alive, maybe even Simon. Other things would be different too.
