#writing partners
Finding a writing partner is all fun and games until you realize what you really have is twice as many AU ideas and half the impulse control about starting new WiPs.

m/m rp search!
(18+ NB) REPOST 🌻 hello i have realized that writing is the only thing that keeps me from going insane so!! am on the search for some m/m OC rps to fill the void! looking for something modern and slice of life-ish. love writing toxic relationships or guys who just,,,can't seem to get a break. lots of angst and heartbreak. theyre really really in love but shit just keeps going awry. tragic marriages and couples who are going through changes faster than they can keep up with. i'd love to write some domestic marriage scenes or maybe something that's already pre-established, though of course we can plot a TON and discuss everything about our characters relationship! i'd be interesting in including legal age gaps or less than normal relationships. maybe a couple who were once student and professor and are now?? no longer student and professor but still figuring things out. age gap relationship where the age gap is really weighing on them perhaps?? i'd love to play the younger character for this - only thing i ask is that our ocs dont follow strict stereotypes. please for the love of god no cutesy uwu boys who are 4'11, and no emotionless big old guys. let's make our characters fully fledged and REAL. interact with this and i'll dm!

How to Build Great Writing Partnerships
Tumblr media
Every year, we’re lucky to have great sponsors for our nonprofit events. First Draft Pro, a 2022 Camp NaNoWriMo sponsor, is a collaborative writing app built for story-nerds. Get free access during July 2022 for Camp NaNoWriMo! In this post, founder Tarryn-Anne Anderson shares helpful tips for writing collaboratively:
We often think of writers as loners on the outskirts of society, scribbling furiously in their notebooks and pecking away at their typewriters. So it’s pretty easy to conclude that writing is solitary, and perhaps even lonely, work.
But collaboration is actually an integral part of storytelling! Along the journey from idea to publication, most books are the loving work of multiple people: co-writers, editors, and beta readers. That said, storytellers don’t always have the right tools to help them work effectively with others. Let’s take a look at a few tips to help you get the most out of working collaboratively:
Co-writers
Working with a co-writer is probably the most obvious kind of partnership – you share the vision for a manuscript with another writer and work through the creative process together to get it done. Yes, you might need to relinquish some creative control, but the insight into someone else’s process can be really fun and inspiring!
Tips for cooperating with co-writers:
Play to each other’s strengths. Perhaps one of you is great at realistic dialogue while the other can write some epic descriptive prose. Bring the best of your skills to your story by focusing on what you’re good at.
Work transparently. Choose a good cloud-based writing software (hint, hint) so that you can both work on your manuscript at the same time – even when you’re working remotely.
Stay motivated. Set some shared goals for your manuscript. A target word count is often just what’s needed to inspire some furious typing.
Editors
Writers are naturally protective over their stories! But don’t let your pride (and, ahem, prejudice) get in the way. Editors are there to spot the small things like grammar and typos, but also to offer suggestions on the bigger picture like how to tighten up your plot, or make your characters more relatable.
Tips for embracing working with an editor:
Version control is your friend. You can expect a bit of rewriting during the editing process, but being able to track suggestions and roll back to previous versions allows you to let go and embrace change.
Write in sections so that you can easily juggle bits around if need be. When that big edit comes in, it will be much simpler to shuffle scenes or chapters around.
Beta readers
Beta readers are there to give you feedback from the perspective of a potential real-life reader. As such, your partner or bestie usually doesn’t make the best beta reader because they’re (hopefully!) less willing to dish out criticism about your work. Choose someone you trust, but who you know will be honest – the point is to make your story the best it can be, not to crush your spirit!
Tips for benefiting from beta readers:
Select readers who expand your worldview. Choose beta readers who might have life experiences or perspectives that differ from your own, or that align with your characters. Their feedback will help you make your work more authentic.
Show your working. Give your readers context! Leave them notes and direct them to specific sections of the manuscript where you’re struggling or want a second opinion.
Gather feedback in one place. Allow your beta readers to comment directly on your manuscript. That way there’s no confusion as to what they’re referring to, making it easy to implement the suggested changes.
There really is magic in writing collaboratively. Although some parts of the writing process will be down to your individual genius, what better than to nerd-out with fellow story lovers about the nitty-gritty of your manuscript?
First Draft Pro is designed with exactly this kind of collaboration in mind. Shuffle scenes, track changes, keep notes and refine your manuscript – together. Get free access to First Draft Pro for the duration of Camp NaNoWriMo! Whatever your goal, we’re here to help you meet it.

RP BUDDIES
✨ alias: cee ✨ age: 30+ ✨ timezone: gmt ✨ triggers: animal cruelty ✨ genre: real life/kink ✨ about me: i work and study so my availability for rp is fairly limited, i can post once or twice a week and i'm looking for someone with a similar level of activity. please keep in mind that i'm looking for someone to join a site i'm on, a site i've been on for many years now (i'm not staff, just a member). not interested in anything else so please only DM me if you're willing to join and write these plots with me. i only write female characters in mxf plots, and my characters are quite diversified. i'm looking for someone LONG TERM ONLY, please. i cannot stress this enough. it totally sucks when someone makes you a character, then ghosts. so please please reach out only if you have the time & willingness. my word count is 400-ish to 1k+, depends on muse and what i'm given to work with. i'm also open to some tweaks and changes. feel free to DM me for details if you're interested! ✨ looking for: a long term rp buddy with similar tastes. i love writing pretty much any aspect of RL - crime, drama, smut, taboo. i have no triggers (i just don't wanna read\write animal abuse, but other than that pretty much anything goes) so i'm looking for someone who is not too limiting on that front, preferably. i love writing ships such as student x teacher, cop x criminal, therapist x client etc, and just throwing my characters into complicated situations and putting them through hell, pretty much. xD i'm also open to other plot ideas ofc, so if you have any feel free to toss 'em my way.

hi! I’m 22 and I’ve had about 12 years of roleplaying experience. I am currently wanting to get back into writing, so I’m searching for long-term writing partners who are interested in roleplaying doubles!
-I’m only looking for partners who are interested in creating a plot together, where we brainstorm ideas, and create something fun together! In our stories I’d love for there to be lots of twists, turns, and drama!
-I’m not too picky about length, but I typically write 3-4 paragraphs. When it comes to writing smut, I don’t go into detail, and typically fade to black.
-All I ask is that you’re also female and +20 ! :)
-The fandoms I am interested in writing for are
Buffy the vampire slayer (Spike x my oc)
the society (Campbell x my oc)
the losers club from IT! (Richie x my oc)
I am also completely fine with writing for celebrities or just oc’s. I also really enjoyed doing plots with alternate universes as well. (Putting other characters from certain fandoms into different movies or tv shows has always been a favorite of mine!)
-If you’re interested message me here or on discord! rosedust7#8308

Looking For Old Friends
I don't have much on them, but I met them on an old virtual dog site called Virtualbark. It was meant for adopting virtual dogs, but it became a home to some roleplayers there too. I was on that site from 2006-2013, and sometimes I go back for nostalgic purposes. I was young back then and didn't think the ask to keep in contact. I don't remember everyone's old character names but if anyone's been on the site around that time but here is a few: BloodShed (Jack) Ginger (Taylor) Elena (Sidney…I don't know if it was spelled differently or not) Victoria (This is the writer's name) Valerie (Amanda) This is a long shot but I thought I'd give it a try in hopes of finding some old friends again. Even if nothing comes out of it, I hope life is treating them well.

Looking for roleplay/writing partners!
Hello!
I am currently looking for a couple ropleplay/writing partners (21+). I have been roleplaying for years now and would love to pick it up again. I would like to write with people who also like to word build and are passionate about creating our own universe! I'm looking to write stories in a historical or present-day setting with elements of fantasy. I like incorporating dark and adult themes into my stories and there are only a few things I won't write about, so bring on all your ideas! I do add smut in my roleplays and I'm comfortable doing all pairings! I would just request that the parings between the main characters be either MXF or FXF.
I'm including a sample of my writing below, I'm looking to write with someone who has a similar style. This is a starter for one of my favorite stories that I got ghosted on. If you're interested in writing this story please let me know and I'll give you more details!
Writing Sample:
Chapter 1: The Meeting
The wood creaking as Aakuti stepped out off of the ship did little to ease her worries. Four days ago, Aakuti learned that she would be marrying Prince Kiaan of Qaizezar and now she was about to meet him for the first time. Aakuti always thought that she would marry someone she fell in love with. That's how marriage always happened in all the fantasy books she read growing up. However, Aakuti was a princess in real life, not one in some fantasy book. Princesses in real life had duties to uphold. Duties such as marrying a stranger prince to comply with a trade agreement between kings. She wondered if Prince Kiaan had any choice in the matter or if the choice was made for him as well.
Now here she was in foreign kingdom about to commit to spending her life with a man she had never met before. Her father had made it very clear that he would get rid of her if she did anything to make the agreement fall through, and that was the only thought reverberating through her mind since the moment she boarded the ship.
"Princess, maybe you shouldn't hide behind me while meeting your future husband and in-laws," Shivani turned her head slightly to look at Aakuti. Shivani was Aakuti's personal gaurd and best friend, and if Shivani wasn't here right now, Aakuti wasn't sure if she would have been able to even get off the ship.
"You're right," Aakuti responded and stepped forward so that she would be walking alongside Shivani instead of behind her. Behind the pair were at least a 100 servants bearing the many exotic gifts Aakuti's father was giving the Kingdom of Qaizezar as dowry. Aakuti held on to Shivani's wrist as she started to make out figures on the otherside of the dock. Her heart was racing, what if Prince Kiaan didn't like what he sees? What if he refused her? Aakuti swallowed before letting out a breath. She was dressed in pale blue silk gown, with long, tapered sleeves and a straight neckline. The gown was trimmed in gold which glimmered in the sunlight, just like her gold jewelry. Women were required to be modest in her kingdom, and while the the gown was demure, it did not hide her figure from peeking through. Her hair had a few strands pinned on the sides while the rest of her black, wavy, hair rolled down past her shoulders to right below her chest.
As they walked closer Aakuti's grip on Shivani's wrist tightened and there were an incredible amount of butterflies in her stomach. Her eyes traveled over the group of people gathered at the end of the dock, trying to get a glimpse of Prince Kiaan.

Thank you so much for reading and please DM me if you're interested!

hello tumblr,
this is a call to any writers in here that might be interested in having a writing partner? this is for non-fanfiction work. i am currently working on a few novel projects but feel as though I am writing in a vacuum. It would be nice to have someone to exchange ideas with, and of course, I would offer the same services.

Nicknames, Themes, Topics, & Plots
I realized I never addressed this, but if there are any nicknames you do not want my characters to call you, please ask. It does not matter if it is for enemies, friends, family, or in romantic moments. If I use something that you don't like, please ask and I will change it. I'm not too partial on stupid, the r-word, the b-word, the c-word, spaz, and freak. In addition, if there are any plots, themes, or topics you want to avoid please let me know. In addition, if there is anything I post that is triggering, please let me know and I will be sure to tag it so you are not displeased. I want everyone to be comfortable and to have fun.

The Importance of Beta Readers: Getting Feedback for Improvement
Writing is often a solitary endeavor. As authors, we pour our hearts and souls into our work, crafting stories that we hope will resonate with readers. However, there comes a point in the creative process where a fresh set of eyes and a different perspective are invaluable. This is where beta readers come in. In this exploration of the importance of beta readers, we will guide writers on how to…
