“I wasn’t planning on it.” she removed her arms and stood up straight, Tyler turned his entire twisty chair to hold out his arms for her to sit down in his lap. “But, I was in the neighborhood and wanted to see my favorite boy.”

Tyler smiled as he pulled her in a little closer, pressing his forehead into her shoulder then kissing the slightly exposed skin that practically called out to him. “I was just thinking about you too.”

“Were you?” it made her flush in the face, traveling to her entire body as he felt the heat form in her shoulder. Her head turned and kissed him in the head a few times, rubbing the back of his neck. “I missed you, pretty boy.”

At the nickname, Tyler hummed against her skin and pushed his head into her neck. Y/N could tell by the way he reacted that he liked that she’d said it. From how hot his skin got, to the poking feeling on her leg in his thin pajama pants. Y/N chuckled in a teasing way, making Tyler whine into her neck when he knew she’d caught it. Her hand rubbed one side of his neck. “Do you like that, pretty boy?”

She didn’t give him a chance to answer, kissing him on the side of the head before standing up. Tyler looked up at her, about to ask where she was going before she straddled his lap and cupped his face. I forgot to lock the door.”

“He had a long day, he’s out.” Tyler promised, fearing she’d leave as he locked his door. When he turned back around, he saw her waiting on his bed. Fanfic Writer Wednesday

Here I go, here I go, here I go again...

Does anyone know what my weakness is? It’s men.

Specifically men played by Henry Cavill and so when I go looking for fic these days, I’m looking for fic written about men played by Henry Cavill. You know, you’ve heard me. It’s Sy. It’s Walter. It’s August. Sometimes I even give Mikey a try.

@hope-to-hell gives me what I need. A masterlist full of good shit. And look, a lot of this is deep, dark, hedonistic, stuff. At least what I’ve read. I could be wrong, but if you’re looking for comfort or fluff, this may not be the place for you. If Enid isn't queer...

I've come to terms with the fact that the Wednesday show I wanted isn't the show that Millar and Gough wanted to make.

However, if Enid isn't queer, some very poorly thought out choices were made.

The first is directly equating Enid's experiences, with those of a queer person. What more needs to be said here. The threat to send Enid to a conversion camp if she doesn't wolf out (conform to what her Mom wants her to be). This isn't even sub-textually queer, it's so overt we all know what the writers meant here. If Enid is straight, I'm going to be so angry that a worry unique to gay people has been used to engender sympathy for a straight character. That's just not cool.

The second is the hug. The lead up to this honestly baffles me. Ajax half-heartedly jogs up to Enid. Enid doesn't move towards him. Ajax walks forward and pulls Enid into an awkward side hug. Let's remember, earlier in the episode these two were making out, apparently really into each other. Nothing in their interaction here confirms they're a couple. It's amazing how half-assed that hug is. It barely conveys any care, affection or passion and, at best, implies a small level of familiarity. If you showed that sequence to someone who hasn't seen the show, I can't imagine anyone would guess they're meant to be a couple.

Contrast this with the Wenclair hug. Enid runs towards Wednesday and pretty much throws herself into Wednesday's arms. After a moment of hesitation, Wednesday reacts and pulls Enid into this incredibly tight hug while closing her eyes. And this scene lingers. It is given the time needed for us to understand just how much these two girls care about each other. If you showed this scene to the same person you showed the Ajax/Enid scene, and asked them who Enid cares about more, I can't imagine anyone would choose Ajax.

I understand that the writers might not have thought through the “conversion camp” scene. I understand that maybe Jenna and Emma played their hug a bit more emotionally than it was written. If that's the case, there's still time for the writers to course correct. It would be so easy for Enid to come out in season two. Just have her say she did some thinking/soul searching during the break and she realised she's into girls. Most of the fandom already thinks this, so no one's gonna be annoyed. Well, OK, homophobes will be, but they don't count.

Hopefully, this was all intentional, and the writers always planned this. If not, I really hope they're wise enough not to stick to thier guns. Characters should be allowed to grow organically and I think Enid has grown beyond being straight.

On Writing and Alan Wake Part II

[Part 1]

I was just working on polishing up chapter 15 for tomorrow's update, and I noticed my fic Out of My Hands and Into Your Heart (an Alan Wake/Fictional Alex Casey fic set prior to the events of Bright Falls) has reached over 2000 hits and over 100 kudos. I'm really happy this fic has garnered this level of interest and support, and there's still a lot of story to tell!

This fic means a lot to me, as it represents what I consider a huge chunk of growth for myself as a writer. Through this fic, I've experimented with my writing style and gone outside my comfort zone by writing in 1st person. Alan's narration throughout Alan Wake especially was always interesting to me, and it helped form his voice in my head with extreme clarity.

I still find it funny how I was watching @rangerzath work on their Alan Wake 2 review video and sharing some footage, and we both had a similar thought: there's a lot of tension between Fictional Alex Casey and Alan.

Obviously this is based on their history together, but it reminded me of the opening sequence of Alan Wake 1, where the shade is chasing Alan and taunting him about his role as a writer:

"You think you're God? You think you can just make up stuff? Play with people's lives and kill them when you think it adds to the drama? You're in this story now, and I'll make you suffer!"

I loved this dynamic between a character and their creator, and with the hindsight of seeing Casey in the Dark Place, the wheels started turning, and I wrote my original piece Kill Your Darlings and then Fanservice shortly after. Both of those one shots involved playing around with writing meta and the role between creator/creation.

It's fun to imagine what your original character might say or do if they ever met you, and it's even more fun to imagine that relationship through a romantic lens.

Alan Wake really reconfigured my brain. I've spoken about it at length, but this particular side of the Remedyverse really spoke to me as a writer. Alan and I share a lot of qualities as creatives, and I deeply sympathize with Alan's creative struggles. I've never had a piece of fiction cut so deep on such a personal level.

I didn't think I was going to reach my word count late last year for the first time since I started keeping track, but Alan Wake and this story changed that. I pushed through my writer's block and was able to reach my goal and then some last year after being inspired by Alan Wake. Watching Alan struggle in the Dark Place hit close to home, so writing about Alan's struggles while writing his Alex Casey novels felt very cathartic and familiar. Writing about a writer struggling came naturally. After all, what writer hasn't had a case of writer's block. We've all been there. I'm incredibly pleased I've been able to keep to a consistent posting schedule with Wednesdays and Saturdays. It's a great feeling, having a story finished and knowing that I have something to look forward to as much as those following the story.

It's been a long time since I've had a fic reach these stats. I'm happy to see the Alan Wake fandom's thriving and constantly moving with new works every single day. I feel very fortunate to be able to contribute to this passionate fandom alongside other talented artists and writers!!

If you've been following the fic, thank you so much for the hits, kudos, bookmarks, subs, and comments. I can't underscore enough how appreciative and flattered I am.

This pinned post is an introduction to my blog and the Masterlist for my multi-chapter fanfic based on the characters from Obey Me! called "Love, Eternal," as well as containing Masterlists for my other content.

About sassykattery...

Call me Sassy! I'm 26, married, and use she/they pronouns. I am currently studying and working full-time to get into a professional school later in 2024.

I am simply one hell of a writer.

Blog Rules

I do not accept interactions from minors or ageless/blank blogs. I will immediately block those who follow me or interact with my content that I catch in my notifications. This is because I regularly consume NSFW content and repost it, on top of creating NSFW content myself. It's not hard to put in your bio that you're at least 18, that's literally all I need to see.

This is an LGBTQ+ friendly and gender-affirming blog. Homophobia, transphobia, and pedophilia aren't tolerated here, nor are any other hate-groups or illegal activities that exist in this world.

I'm a sex-positive and body-positive person, so I am open about sharing personal stories as well as promoting normalization of sex and the human body (i.e. menstruation, being fat/plus-size), you will see this influences my writing as well. Synopsis: After returning for the second year in the Devildom, one human, MC, finds herself in the throes of the affairs of the heart, intertwined with two powerful demons who seek to have her to themselves. One demon seeks to redeem himself after ruining his first relationship in centuries. The other seeks to maintain balance between his duties, his love, and his own vested interests. Read as the three navigate one another's struggles and needs.

Now, within the fic, the perspective is from the main character and pronouns are typically written with "you." It is when MC is referenced by other characters that she/her is used.

7. Will you change anything about the way you interact with other writers?

I’ve been trying really hard to get over my chronic crippling fear of being annoying/too much/unwelcome and actually sliding into the DMs of people I want to get to know—it’s not something that comes easily to me at all but I’ve made some really special friendships in the last year and I’d hate to miss out on more of those, so. I’ll keep working on it 😅

Apart from that, trying to be more consistent with my commenting because I know how much comments mean to me as an author (including going back and commenting on stuff I bookmarked when doing my initial whip through the fandom tag after I gave up on trying not to hyper fixate here lol), continuing to share snippets of other authors’ work on tumblr and get hype, and maybe the big one—get better at subscribing to authors I like!! I’m great at subscribing to individual fics but for some reason I keep forgetting author subs are a thing and then being annoyed I’ve missed fics from authors I love 😂

10. Will you keep a record of all the fics you write and/or post this year?

Yes! My nerd ass has actually spent a decent chunk of today not only migrating my batshit Google sheets stats tracker into Airtable to make it a little easier to manage (something something 229 works on AO3 fml) but also adding a pretty cool WIP wordcount tracker into it as well. Because right now it’s all scattered across 52+ docs and a pain in the ass to track. It’ll also have the benefit of letting me see what WIPs I’m ACTUALLY working on…

I also got Zapier set up to create a new row in Airtable whenever I create a new Google doc in my WIP folder, because again, nerding out.

Definitely gotta put some thought into what stats I want it to calculate, though.

13. Aside from fanfic, are there any other fan works you’d like to try creating? Fanart, or fanvids, gifsets, or podfic?

I have taken the tiniest of baby steps into gif making in the last month or so with my WIP Wednesday/Six Sentence Sunday/etc banner and what I learned from that process is that gif makers are even more ridiculously talented than I already thought they were. Definitely want to play with that more, maybe.

Also neither of them are new things to try, but I did pull back on both podfics and bookbinding in the last year and I’d LOVE to get back into both of those.

"I am looking for people that are looking for me. How will I know them before we meet? We will remember each other by our heart beats."

Many are starting to realize by now that there are "others" they are looking for. What can start as dreams, faint memories, visions, feelings or knowings will get more and more pronounced.

Where people can run into problems with this is: lack of, limited or underdeveloped discernment. With so many set on deception, discernment and development of gifts is critical for navigation. The development of gifts, to include learning the self, thoroughly. To know it's own nuances and subtleties can be extremely helpful.

As this has been the reality for some time, more and more are coming to these realizations in their own realities. "Waking up". This is testing on a mass scale. Paths are being chosen either consciously or subconsciously. There is no wrong path to be chosen. As all will be made right in the needed time. Some will re-cycle or off-cycle depending upon the choices made. "Free will". Some may also never come to this ISO 'the others' this cycle. This is perfectly fine, and should be nothing to be alarmed by as this is not their time for grouping. Some are in the observing, learning and absorbing phase. Some have referred to this phase as the NPC phase. Meaning their interactions are limited, they will lead their lives as normal. Not to say they will have no life, their grouping is just not needed in that time. It can come in this current cycle. When they are 'switched on'; begin to 'wake up' and realize.

The groupings will not be physical for a time. Each group will have their gifts and will work to develop and strengthen them individually and combined. Care must be taken to avoid 'bot mind' or 'hive mind'. Not to mean thinking alike. Meaning controlled by a central force that may not have the best interest of the grouping. This is currently what is going on in society today. Plans and assignments are falling in line as expected.

Those awakening for grouping or already preparing general sequence: Catalyst->research->test/experiment/plan *poor choices can be made in this phase ->path can be chosen/some still on the fence *poor choices can be made in this phase ->ultimate push for final choice*poor choices are still possible-the probability of that is slightly lowered in this phase ->attraction to grouping/calling/path/purpose ->others should begin to be revealed, some may have been already ->will become magnetic to begin drawing them near/crossing paths will increase ->healings can begin within the groupings and then be spread to the world.

A note about Yoko Tanaka

I had almost forgotten that Yoko is the more femme-y one out of the Yoko/Divina couple...as I sit here writing more Yoko for Chapter 7.

Almost, but not quite...it amuses me (given the direction I dragged Divina into, but it'll all make sense...Yoko aggressing on Bianca and Divina subbing for the boys just goes to emphasize that drugged-out Roof Stuff is the stuff they get out of their systems so there's no need to feel like cheating on their partners), and I love it.

Scene with Yoko and Enid is actually enlightening/getting more fun to write and there's so much shit I want to put in there but if I do the damn chapter's going to be 20K words again. 😭 I wish more of this fandom's writers would focus on the individual Nightshades, especially Yoko (who doesn't seem to get enough love in fandom). Christ, no one else gets enough love due to all of the freaking Wenclairs and Wylers.

God, why can't it be 2003 instead of 2023. In those years, even the tiniest, most insignificant of Harry Potter characters got love. And here we have actual LGBTQ+ representation, but the fandom prefers to IGNORE IT and do what the right wing is saying that the left does (i.e. making rainbows gay/insisting that Enid is gay...I'll prob rant about that separately since it's a huge issue with me, having been part of the Alphabet Mafia for 35+ years).

Anyway. I like all the Nightshades, if that isn't already obvious. Chapter 7 is a holy mess right now with no scenes to my satisfaction and not in order yet. What I can tease so far that I haven't teased already:

Yoko's powers (well, a couple of them) will be revealed

Donovan is in a tough headspace right now and everyone reading needs to understand that (I think Lou-Ann Walker understands it best)

I forget where I said it/wrote it, but I did say that Wenovan have a brief and bittersweet reunion sometime before Kinbott's death

Wednesday's conversation with her mother is more interesting than the previous teaser ("Wednesday, your father would never allow it.") and Wednesday is not as much of an asshole to her as she has been

A new member of the Addams Family is introduced (not Fester, obvs...)

The session with Dr. Kinbott nearly gets murderous

I'm sure there's more, but my brain is rattling with even more ideas so...

Wednesday Wonderful Merchandise

Design sheet for ToyBiz 1995 Namor from the Fantastic Four line.

A very 90s figure, complete with pony tail. This was a smaller figure than the 'regular' action figure line of Legends. It was about 5.5 inches tall, and came with a trident and 'turtle' shield. This line was tied into the Marvel Action Hour cartoon.

While I'm not fond of the 90s insert art (Holy Eyebrows, Batman!), I love the POWER-PUNCH ACTION! Also a lovely blurb that far too many writers and fans have forgotten about Namor.

Born from the depths of the ocean, Namor, the avenging son, is Prince of the noble underwater city of Atlantis. The hybrid offspring of a human and an Atlantean, Namor's quest for adventure brought him into contact with the surface world and it's inhabitants. Although sometimes at odds with the actions and agendas of the land dwellers, the Sub-Mariner often lent his incredible strength and exalted heroism towards the fight for justice and humanity.

EXALTED HEROISM! Justice and humanity. Damn straight.

You can see they ended up putting the 'power punch' button on the right side instead of the middle of his back.
