A szakadó esős héten elkezdtem letakarítani, lekapargatni róla a felesleges matricákat, két hét lett belőle, nagy küzdelem volt. Közben elvittem a kerekeit centíroztatni.

Az első váltóról kiderült, hogy nem rossz, hanem csak be van rohadva a bowden, emiatt aztán a váltó is elzsibbadt, a hátsó féket az ív felső felére pakoltam át.

Két hét után végre mentem egy kört, kicsit fura a kormány, a fogása pont a kormányszár vonalába esik, nem kell előre hajolni. A hátsó váltót finomhangolni kell, és milyen fura, hogy a bowden végén nincs lezáró kupak, hmm érdekes, essünk neki.

Kiderült, ez nem is bowden, hanem merev huzal, és ezek a krokodilfogak, pontosabban a völgyek pozicionálják a sebességfokozatokat:

A nyolcvanas évek elején gyárthatták, és most itt a dilemmám, hogy cseréljem-e modernebbre? Működik, csak szeretném a váltókarokat a markolathoz felvinni, ami így elég komplikált.

Feel free to ignore this, I’m just getting my thoughts out before I go mad trying to puzzle this out.

I’m trying to create a staging area for photographing things (books and merchandise, if you’re curious), and I think I’ve found an affordable solution that would also increase our storage space in the living room. (an ongoing struggle in this house)

The problem is, it's the only space where we can put our Christmas tree, and if I were to invest in this item or furniture, there is nowhere else it could be moved to in the house to make room for the tree.

So now my brain is like, well, maybe Home Depot still makes the holo glitter tree. Maybe you could get a smaller version and fit it next to the window...

Except then what do I do with the old tree?

And honestly, I don't like that we can’t see our Christmas tree from the couch because the couch faces the opposite direction (our living room and dining room are one room, the tree frames the dining table in the back while the TV faces the opposite wall where the tv is because it's the only blank wall without a window/built-in in the room) so maybe we should just redo the layout of the entire room???

The TV in that room is somewhat old and freezes up a lot. Maybe if we got a smaller one, it’d fit on the wall with the built-in shelves, and I could move the couch and make space for the Christmas tree...

This is the part where if I was still able bodied I’d start playing furniture Tetris until I figured this out, but alas, I am a sick bitch reliant on the help of others and Mothman’s the type of neurodivergent that hates change in his environment without thorough planning and negotiation.

We’re the epitome of immovable object meets unstoppable force.

Or we would be if I was still physically capable of the gremlin energy my brain puts out.

Anyway. I’ve been thinking about this for hours and it all comes down to the fact that I have too much stuff but also not enough of the right stuff. Annoying.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes reviews I've seen fixate on the story's discussion of whether humans are inherently good or inherently evil as if one side or the other is the correct answer. Meanwhile the story itself is showing that individual choice in every action--choosing to act out of either love or self-interest--is what truly matters in shaping society. A free and stable society requires that people be taught to make selfless choices rather than act out of fear. Instead of oppressing people into fearful order, citizens need to have the freedom to choose the good, and be educated with the values that teach them what good is.

This is an idea I had yesterday, but I didn't want it to be swept away from the Dannypocalypse, so let's gooooo!

The Lazarus Pits are just more than just leaked ectoplasm into the material world, they're unstable rifts that could potentially tear apart the whole Infinite Realms! (The Fenton Portal doesn't count because technology keeps it stable.)

While one or two could be somehow manageable, the League of Assassins found a way to recreate them and the new model was definitely more unstable than the old ones...

SO this clearly needed an intervention.

Luckily, Clockwork has two apprentices heroes that own them some favors...

This is how Danny Fenton/Phantom, Peter Parker/Spider-man and the ghost of one (1) Tony Stark (as an emotional support ghost) found themselves being loaned to the DC Universe to close every single one of these Pits.

(Danny became CW's unofficial apprentice after they helped him with TUE.)

wild to me to see posts like "wow everything in the tempest is named after shakespeare...emet you melodramatic bitch you sure loved theater". because the prospero-emet thing gets played up so hard in the english script and you can carry it so far!

like prospero is an asshole magician who, after being deposed by his brother as duke of milan, settles himself and his daughter on a remote island, enslaves the local spirits using his magic, and bitterly plots to reclaim his past glories. he rules through violence and deceit, and only survives and is reconciled when his plots reach their fruition and his brother is taken to his remote island and plots ensue and everyone decides he was totally right all along and they were huge dicks to him and they're sooooo sorry and he gets to go back and be duke again wow! and it's okay because he's like "i was only doing mean magic to get my rightful spot back and now i'm giving it up because magic is evil. :)"

the tempest is what emet wants his life to be. prospero is not a villain in the text of the tempest. he is barely treated as antagonistic by the text and framing of the play itself. all his abuses, his neglect and control of his daughter, his enslavement of caliban and ariel (local spirits/monsters/people of the island), his deception and plots against his brother, his abuse of magical powers (not awesome, from the pov of the contemporary audience), all that ultimately gets swept aside in the rightness of his return to milan and the warm feeling of the world being set to rights. prospero can't undo the years he spent on the island but they are ultimately a blip in his life before he returns to the rightful state of affairs. his abuse and enslavement of caliban, easily the worst thing he does in the play, is totally set aside when caliban goes "wow now i see how truly benevolent my master is. i love him and see the ways of christian good and i'm so, so appreciative he chose not to kill or beat me even though he totally could have and would have been in the right. he's so just and intelligent." everyone loves and forgives him and they all agree both his management of the island and his ultimate return are so good and so wise and so right.

emet comparing himself to the tempest (or being compared to it, depending on how you want to read the diegetic status of the place names) is absolute wishcasting. it is an attempt to manifest the happy ending he will never, ever get because his sins cannot and would not be forgiven in the way he wants. he wants to imagine himself as the righteous returned duke whose crimes, including the enslavement, abuse, and exploitation of those he saw as his rightful inferiors, were totally worth it, i promise. and if emet is prospero, the warrior of light is his caliban.

I'll never stop gushing about this because I don't think people realize just how cool it was to see Quackity, Roier, Bad, and Yangdding all hanging out last night (this morning?? Lol)

Being in the fandom for nearly a year, you get used to people speaking different languages and sometimes using the translator. And there are times when people just speak English when together instead because sometimes the translator doesn't pick up certain parts of the conversation, but last night, we just witnessed 4 people relying on the translator completely.

LIKE. HOW AWESOME IS THAT???

A Korean speaker, an English speaker, and two Spanish speakers having fluent conversations in their native languages. And these conversations just flow so naturally that my sleep deprived ass didn't even fully register that they were speaking different languages.

The QSMP is truly revolutionary. I've seen people say it's like reverse Tower of Babel, but in Minecraft; and that's not an overstatement at all.
