No I agree, a small part of me enjoys reading their delusional takes, as bad as that may be. Some of them truly are hilarious.

I actually was a tinhat at one point, back in 2012. I was fully convinced CC was real and Mia was a beard…I was also 12 years old. Imagine my horror when I finally snapped out of it at 15 and realized most of the accounts I was interacting with were grown adults.

Anyways, I understand how they feel, and why they act the way that they do. It used to stress me tf out. I’d spend hours each night on Tumblr analyzing every little clip of Darren and Chris, reading theories, and searching for any personal info I could about their partners. Idk what caused it but it consumed me and whenever something happened with one of the couples that put a hole in the CC narrative I felt intense anxiety. It was bad and I regret it, but I was a child so I cut myself some slack. I ended up talking to Mia at an event in 2016, she was so kind and I felt so much guilt for the things I used to say about her online.

I really can’t believe some of them have been around since 2010, I just know they’re exhausted.

I can understand that a young person believes it for a while. When you watch a tv show for several years the characters become real and you talk about them like they are real persons. I do that too. I understand to transfer that to the actors and wish/believe they were a real couple. But the tinhats today are grown-up women. I can't understand how they can still believe/know. The cc-narative has so many plotholes and logic flaws. There is nothing to support it. No pic, no video, no stories from people knowing the "truth".

I know that they aren't happy. Every time I see a pic of Darren and Mia or the whole Criss family I'm happy. For one because I'm happy to see them and a little part of me is happy because I know the tinhats aren't. They don't have to post about it. I know what they feel.

7. whats the biggest risk you’ve taken with your story? did it pay off?

The biggest risk (so far) is telling this story in general and how I'm not holding back with the subject matter(s). I know simblr tends to shy away from like bloody/gory shit and all of that, even as it's integral to the story itself, and... y'know, it's Sicko Hours at Ennie's place (I've got juice!); there's so many TWs. It's like that one post -- tws for a heads up, tws for 'oh word? 👀' very ymmv.

I'm not sure if it's paying off, though. Slightly over it at this point.

9. what about your story are you looking to improve on?

So, a while back, tumblr switched to the new text editor, which means that I got knee capped into 30 pics each post. And for those who've been here a minute, my posts were always long with multiple scenes. Like 5. I'm having to condense things and really having to think what shots to use (even if I take the same amount... the most I've took for a scene was like 250 something.)

tl;dr - pacing. I know it's a little wonky; I'm trying my best here! 😫

15. what have been the highlights of creating your story?

Getting to use all of this CC I've gotten over the years!! All of it is so super niche-y and without it, I wouldn't have been able to tell this story (accurately). It's also great how everything's coming together, y'know? I've had skill growth since the last time I did this, and my skills and editing are really shining through.

20. choose your favourite shot from your story so far

ngl, there's so many, but this one?? let me count the ways:

The sheer fury of The Werewolf has in this scene, but I like how this shot came out. The toxins in his veins that are (unbeknownst to him) actively killing him at this point. He's in unimaginable pain, but his anger is even more. He's had it.

The veins themselves and how you can see them as he's fighting it. (I've had to double them up and also use some others for his face as well.)

the fucking monitor in the background (lord do not get me started on that but it's for Enhancement and leave it at that.)

The Werewolf making his proclaimation: "I will fucking kill every one of you; you will not get away with this and you will suffer my pain."

if anyone else is intrigued by this -- I guess this part will be my hook.

And I felt that. Really. I struggled with that whole scene basically until I posted it, but I feel like I got the emotion part of it down. if I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know what to do for that scene until I had a Rogue Thought™️, and I made damn sure I was gonna be able to pull it off. I say I did.

there's so much more I can gush about this part but we will be here all night lol

21. choose your least favourite shot so far

It's a good shot but it's my 'least' favorite is because of what happens. (aka pics taken before disasters.) And really, this shot alone tells you what kind of person Charles is. This mfer's vibe? Hideous. Rancid. Abhorrent. Etc.

I’m gonna have to pass this one to good ol’ Leader Decrose. I REFUSE to get into the backstory of how he came about, but in this old world I never dive in anymore, he’s like ? A refuge i suppose ? A set of four characters (including my self insert) were based on cards and his was the diamond.

3.Have you ever adopted a character or gotten a character from someone else ?

Odd situation but I GUESS ?? There’s a few but one I like is named Polaris and they’re like. a dying star. And their big brother figure is Cyrus, aka cc who thought the key to transitioning was dismembering yourself and using dark magic on a lifesize frakenstein doll he made.

They work in a fucked up lab but like, fucked up as in goofy as hell. They’re so silly (:

19.Introduce a character that means a lot to you and why

*SLAMS JACE IN FRONT OF YOU* I love him an insane amount.

Jace Luong was away when the apocalypse striked, lost his daughter thag he blames himself for (but he could never save her anyway), accidentally shot a guy and had to step down from his military position, more for his mental sake than anything, ended up using his best friend, and that last one sounds so bad. and it is. But it is for this Reason that makes me shake him like GRRRR I LOVE YOU. WHY DID YOU DO THAT oh yeah i’m the author loll !!

Because the point of Jace is that. He wants to help so fucking bad but he keeps Messing It Up. He is not evil and I cannot say that enough—he is very “the means justifies the ends” but that does Not mean he doesn’t feel bad for using Noah as a lab rat. When Noah came back to KILL HIM he cried because someone Came Back For Him, even if it was to kill him.

I don’t wanna take up too much space but it’s because he’s not evil just severely fucked up from losing his daughter and the life of being in a world filled with zombies that he’s trying to rush to make some sort of cure, so he can save people, so that people can live again instead of just survive, but he goes about it in a horrible way that, honestly, was probably inevitable.

He’s special to me because he’s a fuck up, but he’s genuinely really really trying. He is not a good person, though.

(also if he was a tma avatar he would be of The Lonely or Eye and that’s so silly)

I’m going to go with RAYNE because he probably DOES use Tumblr, knowing him. His layout is green but also he’s probably using the Goth/Rave color pallet because he thinks the colors are nice and he’s a 3 am user so that dark mode comes in handy. His pfp is like, his favorite pokémon but with a ditto face.

He reblogs pokemon stuff—screenshots, fanart, memes, etc and he’s Definitely gotten into discourse abt the best game. Also he’s totally a Nightvale listener so throw in some Nightvale posts. I think he reblogs a lot of shitpost art but also just art in general.

And of course, the occasional cat photo and tumblr trademark textposts.

I WAS GONNA TALK ABOUT NOAH & CO. BUT I ALWAYS TALK ABOUT THEM so here’s the MoMOF crew, named after the lemon demon song “Mask of my Own Face”

It’s a classic high schoolers sci fi horror story, think stranger things except without mike bc i hate him (did not finish watching stranger things)

Basically, six kids, Rayn, Rowan, Alex, Ash, Zach and Winston are friends ! Yippee ! Average middle/high schoolers.

And one night, Rayn and Rowan (dating) are just hanging out. Rowan is conked the fuck out at Rayn is gaming on his DS, and then he gets a text from Alex saying “Dude, why tf are you outside it’s like 2 am ???” and Rayn is confused outta his mind.

“Wdym i’m literally at home rn.”

Alex attaches a photo, a shot looking thru the blinds of their window of what looks to be Rayn.

Rayn sends a selfie back of the Charmander he just leveled up and Rowan fast asleep.

And it Can’t be him if he just sent that photo, because the beanie he always wears was handmade by Asher himself—whos this guy ?!?

naturally, they text everyone, everyone’s yelling in a vc and was NOT asleep like they should be, and Rayn gets the FANTASTIC idea to go and see who the person is. Alex is yelling that they will personally stab Rayn if he does.

He does anyway.

and they’re too far away now for Alex to see, but they’re watching their phones and when Rayn finally approaches the other Rayn the camera flips and it is missing Half Of It’s Face and then Rayn hangs up.

And they Cannot Find Him.

So for weeks they are searching for Rayn and are scared out of their wits about Why there were Two and they told the police, but they don’t believe them all too much.

But Rowan finds him one night, at the edge of the forest. Half of his face looks tk have been torn away and his hat and coat is gone and he looks run ragged but oh. Oh no.

That’s the real Rayn.

And it turns out, the Rayn they’d been staying with recently was a clone.

And he’s babbling about something, saying they “Can’t trust Winston”

And at the same time, Rowan gets a call. And Zach sounds like he’s running for his life, because Winston cannot talk, let alone sing, and Zach heard them whispering the lyrics to a song he doesn’t know, and ran for it.

So, while they found Rayn, they now don’t know where the real Winston is. And it’s kinda all about not trusting each other but also wanting to stay together because What If Someone Else Gets Taken, and they can’t trust anyone at All because they won’t believe them, and they could be more clones.

Other stuff happens; Ash is going kinda insane, Alex, as the eldest, feels like they have to be the parent of the group because god they’re falling apart and they can’t stand to see it, Zach doesn’t know if the things he’s catching on camera are real or not, and there’s also an almost murder and also arson !! Both by the kids (:

Where can I find info on princess nokia blackfishing? I thought she was Afro latina, im not saying she isn't blackfishing I just want to find more info on it

I have no idea how long ago you sent this but:

Literally if you just look at images of her you can physically see her morphing herself over the years into looking Black.

I had to research/come to the conclusions and look for this all myself. Some keywords that might help is that she used to go by themermaidgirl and wavyspice with the word tumblr on google (those were the names she went by before she switched to princess nokia.)

On her Blackfishing:

I basically found out through google after seeing what she looked like in her infamous “so juicy so fertile” Vogue video that she Blackfishes because I noticed she obviously uses tanner (Face lighter than body with different tones). I started googling her old pictures and social media names and...yeah here we are.

She deadass darkens her skin artificially, wears fake Afro wigs, and gets lip injections to make herself look Black, and is lying about being AfroPuerto Rican, she’s been lying about being Indigenous as well.

Her own ex-friends have said she’s not Black and called her out for it. Actual Taino Indigenous people have repeatedly called her out for lying about being Taino.

If you look at pictures shes posted of her family literally none of them are Black. They’re more than likely white or majority white/mestize. None of them in Puerto Rico would be considered Black. None of them. Like my mother’s family is literally all very much white Puertoricans who come from white European colonialists in PR, and that side of my family look JUST LIKE the people in these pictures. She’s not ambigious mixed Black, she’s straight up Blackfishing and pretending to be Black.

She is literally mestiza/white Latina cosplaying Afro-Indigenous Latinidad. Like straight up fucking cosplaying being mixed and cosplaying being spiritual/in Afroreligions. 

Like who tf sits there for instagram smoking cigars with a golden headwrap showing the viewers a Yemaya oracle card like she’s really doing something except for people who are using ATRs and shit for social media clout liiikkeeee.......She can smoke all the cigars she wants, that’s not gonna make her AfroPuertorican or Afrotaino for shit. It’s fucking embarassing.

I swear the reason she’s always going on about being mixed Afro-Indigenous is because in Latino culture, including PR culture, there’s this incorrect idea that we’re all European/African/Indigenous, therefore any Latino can claim Afrolatinidad. Obviously that’s not true. But I’ve even heard this stupid shit in progressive/activist circles. 

And with ATR/ADRs and Brujeria becoming more visible and popular in recent years, why wouldn’t she jump on it to capitalize off the craze, considering that’s what made her popular? So I deadass wouldn’t be surprised if this is why she tries saying she’s Black when clearly neither she nor either sides of her family are any sort of Black Puertorican. But she’s been called out for this shit so many times, nobody can say she’s just ignorant, at this point she’s been telling people straight up lies.  

She wears Afro styled wigs and then lies about it being her real hair. And people have apparently called her out before but she was adamant that its her real hair. You can tell that its not her real hair, and that her actual texture is wavy, not curly.

Those are all wigs. All 3 of them in the images. You can literally tell they’re wigs. Esp in the middle/second pic, look at those roots. You can see the braids underneath and how the curls aren’t actually connecting to her scalp. Bc those are fucking wigs. Even in the bruja video, she was wearing a fucking wig.

Why do you think she goes from a light tan, to a much darker warm almost orange shade, to a neutral medium shade, back to a super dark but more olive/green toned shade? Because that’s not what her actual color is. 

Have you noticed how in a lot of photos of her, her skin is sort of patchy with random spots, or her face is super pale without makeup compared to a much darker body, her body most times being a much darker color than her hands? Why sometimes her nails look dirty?

It’s literally because she uses artificial tanners/spray tan on her skin. She’s always a different shade because it goes between being fresh and faded or she switches up the brands/colors/products she’s using.

Like look at her fucking hand compared to her face (and check out the injections) like wow:

She gets mad fucking CCs of injections into her lips to make them look fuller than they actually are. And she’s been getting it done for ages. In recent moments she’s been doing.......alot.

She’s 100% A Blackfisher like it’s fucking crazy because I didnt know that wasnt what she naturally looked like. honest to god this had me so fucked up and I’m still so fucking mad over this. I had heard people repeatedly saying she wasn’t Black and figured it out through just searching up on google. She’s absolutely fucking wild for profitting off of the idea that she’s AfropuertoRican and acting like shes supposed to be some sort of representation for us when she’s been fucking lyinggggg. Simblr Asks - TS3

I saw these questions here, and I’m in a procrastinating mood.

1. are you going to buy the new pack (cottage living) when it comes out? Thoughts on Cottage Living:

Should’ve been a Game Pack. Another display of EA cramming TS4 with crap that’s as big as the ocean, but with the depth of a frikkin puddle. How TF an EXPANSION PACK came without any new skills or careers is beyond me, but Cottage Living did it, so hey. Speaking of hay, at least the cows & chickens are better. They’d better be, for $40. Thank god for the Llamas though, otherwise I would’ve never been interested in this dang pack.

2. do you p*rate your dlc or buy it legitimately?

Fortunately for me, half the TS3 content I have I won in contests & giveaways, or it was Gifted to me. The rest I bought on DEEP sales, cuz eff buying anything from EA at full price. And I got TS4 when EA gave it away for free, cuz patience is a freaking virtue. But there's definitely some garbage out there (*cough* Kits) I legitimately think you’re morally obligated to Yo Ho Ho.

3. what’s your favorite world?

EA: Shang Simla (World Adventures). CC: Boroughsburg (Potato-Ballad-Sims). My wish is to have a world/save that incorporates BOTH--an Asian Boroughsburg, or a futuristic/modern Shang Simla, but Japanese.

4. if you use a queue, how many posts per day do you set it as?

1 post on my main blog, 2 on my personal/inspo blogs, and anywhere from 1-5 on my CC finds blogs (depending on how much CC there is to catch up on).

Plenty. I miss Lazy Game Reviews--I think he’s effing done with EA & TS4, which is equally hilarious and sad at the same time. The Red Plumbob is probably my fave right now. I watch Pleasantsims for nostalgic TS2 content. And I watch A LOT of TS4 simmers, out of morbid curiosity to see just how bad the Kits and packs are.

Strong contender for Y’all Hear Sum’n? on Kenya’s scale. 🙄

I will never buy or even bother pirating those dumba$$ Kits, EA can eff right off. Anyone can do clothes & clutter for free; what 👏  is 👏  the 👏  point 👏 , other than a total effing cash grab.

I only ever sim offline.

Main blog. Then I realized how expansive Tumblr is, and created 1001 sideblogs for stuff I do outside of simming.

Plenty, plus extras I don’t even advertise the way I probably should. U_U

Yes. I understand that some people are shy though, which is why I try to add CC Credits to my gameplay posts, with links to the CC I use. But I’m so effing lazy that sometimes I don’t. 

12. what’s your favorite sized household to play with? (ex. 1 sim, 4 sims)

Because my gameplay is often tv or video game inspired, my households are often massive (a dozen+ sims). Sometimes I break off the nuclear unit from the auxiliary characters (often my top 4-6 characters), and have them in my active household to control them directly, while I let the other sims roam free in another house(hold) or something.

13. if you have c&d, do you play with pets?

I love the Pets EP. I can't decide which I like more: cats, dogs, or horses. The horses are 100% essential for my historical gameplay, I can’t even. And I like that we can directly control the animals--I actually wish we could do more with the small pets, too (reptiles, birds, fish, etc). IMO, TS4′s C&D is a crying shame, and MFPS can go straight to hell. TS3′s unicorns would like a word with MFPS.

14. what lifespan do you use?

Young Adult, though I use Kids a lot more now, thanks to PuddingFace’s Enhanced Witches Mod letting kids use magic.

15. if you own a lot of packs, how many of them have you actually played through?

Everything in TS3, though I’ve never been able to play through all the content. Even in Supernatural there are things I haven’t done yet. I have no intention of owning even 1/3 of TS4′s packs.

16. what do you do as you play sims? (ex. listen to music)

Listen to music--I have specific playlists for specific gameplay.

17. which sims challenges have you tried?

I don’t do challenges, I cheat too much.

18. do you like the new(ish) hair swatches?

Eff swatches; they don’t hold a candle to CASt. Hair in TS4 is 100% garbage. That clayfied crap makes my blood boil. The only time I even marginally like it is when people do those rainbow recolors; those are super cute.

TS3: Into the Future Expansion Pack. TS4: Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack.

ITF is hands down the most unique pack EA ever made. If you like sci-fi, there’s no way you can pass up on it, ITF adds waaaaaay too much good content & gameplay. But there are so many simmers that hate fantasy in general, as a rule, and they crap all over Supernatural, too. So ITF got a lot of heat mostly cuz it was the very last EP, and the very last chance simmers could get something they wanted. But considering the lack of futuristic gameplay we tend to have, it was high time EA did a pack like ITF for once.

As for VG, that was when I first started realizing that EA was doing something drastically different with the SPs in TS4. It’s a sad state of affairs that the SPs in TS4 are becoming some of its most interesting content, particularly since they’ve started adding in new lifestates, gameplay, and premium content. That was never the case in TS3, and very very rarely in TS2. Even though people scoff at the Butlers & Bar Globes, I love that kind of content, particularly for historical gameplay.

I really like the holiday stories @danjaley​ does; over at 3 Hazelnuts.

25. if you could change certain small thing(s) about ts4, what would it be?

anytime we talk about certain ccs comments its like we're in a small group chatting about it and someone comes in like ur taking this way too serious!!!!!! its not like they want them dead!!!!! like i do not think anyone thought that much less said it in our asks we are simply discussing takes that we dont like or questioning why ccs we care about are talked about in certain ways about others. these ccs can say whatever tf they want but they are live and streaming to thousands. us tumblr anons are allowed to talk about it amongst ourselves and michogie can definitely post about it on their own blog if she wants

I don’t know if it’s just because mcyt is the only really modern (aka late 2019-onwards) fandom I’ve been in so far, but I thought the trend of discourse within the fandom about chilling tf out and just letting people live was kinda a mcyt-exclusive thing. That’s not to say that there aren’t still weirdos who get too invested in speculation within mcyt, but generally, if a CC is like “please don’t speculate about this,” the general fanbase (besides those weirdo pockets) seems to stop and maybe mention it in passing, but generally they start telling off people who post long-ass reddit posts, tumblr posts, or twitter threads that continue speculating and basically breaking their CCs’ boundaries. From what I’ve seen, this has happened with things like Tubbo’s random gay flag in his twitter bio, Techno initially taking a break without anyone knowing why exactly, Dream saying he’s unsure about his sexuality, etc. Maybe my perception of the mcyt fandom is just skewed, and all these things are generally speculated about regardless, I don’t know. But to me, it seems like some people kinda say random things ocassionally (i.e., some Tumblr users wondering if Techno stopped uploading because of anxiety over something in his life), but it’s not as much A Thing as it was in early CC-based fandoms. If this was 2015, no one would give a shit about the CC’s qualms. They’d just fucking go off- there’d be 100s of votes on Twitter polls speculating; there’d be full-on, evidence-filled threads trying to Sherlock Holmes it together; there’d be Tumblr discourse so long, you’d have to use XKit’s auto-scroll extension just to reach the bottom of a post; subcommunities or subspaces in fandoms meant solely for shipping, truthing, etc., wouldn’t even exist because that’s just the entire fandom. I’m just so grateful for this shift in fandom norms around respecting CCs and any boundaries they don’t explicitly state.

All this to say, I keep seeing people in OTV video comments and Twitch chats tell off people who want to deep dive into whether or not Toast & Miyoung are dating, and I love to see it so much. Some part of me, like in many fans, wants to have it confirmed. But really, it makes me very glad and surprised to see other CC-based fandoms nowadays do what I’ve seen so much in mcyt fandoms- just stfu and letting CCs live, when it comes to things that would be disrespectful to speculate about. We had normalized shipping so fucking much in fandom culture, even with real, existing people, and now to see it reversed to the point that it’s not generally accepted to ship people unless they’ve said that you can (i.e., why dnf is so insanely popular), is really nice imo.

one of my favorite t-shirts for TF is this, the age conversion that @caramelsmiles12​ did of the AF conversion 4t2 that @nikaonishko​ did of sims4 Oversized Top meshes&textures by @serenity-cc​

 so I decided to make recolors ... they are just images copied and pasted from google and pinterest, but ... I started and started and went on and on and I couldn't stop ... and well here you have a ton of recolors! I literally just went over how it peeves tf out of me when people are like “oh, we can’t possibly be causing irreparable damage to the whole planet!” when, like, there is evidence everywhere we are. Well, anyway, of course someone had to piss me off in this exact way, and I’m going to use this series to spin my frustration to talk about something I find endlessly fascinating - the incredible link between life on Earth and the planet itself. I will use the humble Clam to talk about it, but make no mistake - filter feeding shellfish and humans are far from the only organisms that have had planetary effects! And so Tumblr doesn’t hide this very important tidbit I explain below, TL:DR

**IT’S THE RATE OF INCREASE IN CO2 THAT IS DRIVING THE CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS.** Bivalves help slow it down.

The Clam appeared only in AC New Leaf when diving was first introduced. In ACNH, it became the manila clam bait mechanic (the Clam is called “asari” in New Leaf, which is another common name for the Manila clam). They are the same species, Ruditapes philippinarum, and since we covered the Manila Clam before, I won’t go too deeply into it. We have also covered bivalves so many times, but in case you forgot - Bivalvia is a Class of Mollusks that have two hard shells attached by a hinge, with a very soft body inside, the vast majority of which are filter feeders and burrow into the sediment around the world. They are also popular as food items, raised in aquaculture around the world, for which the Manila clam is a top, but sustainable, farmed species.

Bivalves are incredible animals that actually play key roles in the habitats they flourish in - many of them provide benthic structure that other animals and plants rely upon as habitat, they are a food source for many species, including humans, and, most importantly right now, they are one of the best at sequestering carbon. Let me explain:

By now, we know that climate change exists, it is happening, and the burning of fossil fuels by humans is the number one culprit (with other additional factors, also anthropogenic, aka human-caused). Burning coal, oil, gas, and wood, too, release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a known “greenhouse gas” - this means that the properties of CO2 enable it to trap heat easily. So, solar radiation (aka the sun’s light and energy) hitting the Earth is trapped in the atmosphere more readily the more CO2 is present (this is generally - water vapor and methane, for examples, are also greenhouse gases!) Now, this is not to be viewed as a bad thing on its own - atmospheric CO2 is an important part of why Earth is habitable. We have this great atmosphere that effectively shields us from the cold void of the rest of space. CO2 has risen and fallen many, many times throughout Earth’s history, often the catalyst for major shifts in the planet’s climate, followed by major shifts in biodiversity. CO2 is super important and a major player in making life possible - remember plants take in CO2 like we take in oxygen. So, CO2 itself isn’t the problem - it’s the rate at which the concentration of CO2 is rising in our atmosphere that’s the problem.

Let me say that again: IT’S THE RATE OF INCREASE IN CO2 THAT IS DRIVING THE CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS.

And it is definitively from humans burning shit at an industrial scale, as well as stressing the environment’s ability to offset that carbon via biological means, like via overharvesting species, habitat destruction, etc. the list goes on. And yes, life on Earth has a HUGE role in managing the carbon cycle and therefore the climate. I mean, we’re made of carbon - plants take in CO2, we animals breathe it out, etc. - it’s a major component of life on Earth. If you go through ancient history, you can pick out where atmospheric CO2 rises, giving way to a very tropical climate that nurtures plants to the point they take in all of that CO2 and incorporate it into their tissues (sugars, etc.), which in turn ends up cooling the planet (over millions of years!). When a tree dies, unless it’s via forest fire, it takes most of the CO2 it absorbed with it, and eventually decays into the soil, often buried and kept out of the atmosphere (sequestration - literally yanking the CO2 out of the air, and burying it). This is what happened after the great forests of the Carboniferous Period some 340 million years ago died out. All of that carbon was stored away underground, and now humans are burning it as coal and oil. You can now think of the CO2 humans are pumping into the atmosphere as “extra CO2″ the Earth hasn’t accounted for in millions of years in the span of like, 200 years. 

Now, with the rate we’re going, the climate crisis ought to be WAY WORSE than it is right now, but planet Earth has more than one way to sequester carbon - it also sinks into the ocean in a number of ways. One of those ways is via bivalves! (I know, it took a bit to connect all of this, but I had to make sure you get it - if you don’t, PLEASE ASK ME.) The oceans, especially the surface, photic layers, are just as photosynthetically active as major forests and provide half of all the oxygen in the atmosphere. Phytoplankton bloom and grow very fast, multiplying rapidly and dying just as fast. As the base of the oceanic food web, these phytoplankton are eaten by zooplankton which are then consumed by a myriad of creatures that, ya know, poop and that poop sinks or is recycled back as nutrients for phytoplankton to use again. Some filter feeders, though, like bivalves, actively eat phytoplankton directly, straining them from the water at such a rate, that bivalves are a known carbon sequester, their poop very often becoming buried as soon as it’s made because bivalves hang out on the bottom or are already buried themselves. What you get from this and other carbon sequestering processes (such as forest growth, chemical ocean absorption, animal feeding and migrating or dying, etc.) is a crisis that’s been slowed. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not a problem - it just means we got more time to deal with the problem and decided to convince each other it wasn’t our fault. Meanwhile, more frequent forest fires and ocean acidification are eliminating our best carbon sequesters in an endless feedback loop. 

The effects of “too much CO2, too fast” are not fully understood - atmospheric CO2 has never risen this fast before - so more science is always the answer while we try to get off that fossil fuel teet. However, we can easily predict that reduced ice and snow cover will translate to less clean, fresh water and rising sea levels; stronger tropical cyclones fueled by warm water equating to devastation and loss of life; new desertification hurting agriculture; heat waves and heat emergencies literally just killing people; decreases in biodiversity as plant and animal species fail to adapt fast enough; longer droughts fueling raging fires...all things that lead to water scarcity, food shortages, poverty, refugee crises, disease spread, death, and economic damage, all of which are stressors that drive desperate people to war over these dwindling resources, with poorer countries of course taking the brunt of this shit first and the most. No one is saying all life on Earth will cease to exist - life always finds a way; that isn’t the problem. The problem will be that the new climate patterns will be very harsh for humans. Will we survive? I don’t see why not, but it’s gonna suck.
