ফিতরা কেন দিতে হয়?

ক. রোজাদারের রোজায় যেসব দুর্বলতা ও ভুল হয়, তা থেকে পবিত্র হওয়া। খ. দরিদ্রদের প্রতি সদ্ব্যবহার। গ. ঈদুল ফিতরের দিনে দরিদ্রদের ভিক্ষা করা থেকে বিরত রাখা। ঘ. তারাবি ও রোজার মতো নেয়ামতে ধন্য করায় আল্লাহর কৃতজ্ঞতা জ্ঞাপন করা। ঙ. উদারতা ও সহমর্মিতার চর্চা করা।

ফিতরের নিসাব জাকাতের নিসাবের সমপরিমাণ। নিসাব মানে হলো কারো কাছে সাড়ে সাত ভরি সোনা বা সাড়ে ৫২ ভরি রুপা অথবা তার সমমূল্যের নগদ অর্থ কিংবা নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় জিনিসের অতিরিক্ত সম্পদ ঈদুল ফিতরের দিন সময় বিদ্যমান থাকলে তার ওপর ফিতর ওয়াজিব হবে। যাঁর ওপর ফিতর আদায় করা ওয়াজিব, তিনি নিজের পক্ষ থেকে যেমন আদায় করবেন, তেমনি নিজের অধীনদের পক্ষ থেকেও আদায় করবেন। তবে এতে জাকাতের মতো বর্ষ অতিক্রম হওয়া শর্ত নয়।

রাসুল (সা.)-এর যুগে মোট চারটি পণ্য দিয়ে ফিতরা আদায় করা হতো। খেজুর, কিশমিশ, যব ও পনির। আবু সাঈদ খুদরি (রা.) বলেন, ‘আমরা এক সা পরিমাণ খাদ্য অথবা এক সা পরিমাণ যব অথবা এক সা পরিমাণ খেজুর অথবা এক সা পরিমাণ পনির অথবা এক সা পরিমাণ কিশমিশ দিয়ে সদকাতুল ফিতর আদায় করতাম।’ (বুখারি, হাদিস: ১,৫০৬)

খাদ্যবস্তুর পরিবর্তে সেগুলোর কোনো একটিকে মাপকাঠি ধরে তার মূল্য আদায় করা হয়।

বর্তমান বাজারদর হিসাবে যেহেতু গমের দামই সবচেয়ে কম, তাই ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের পক্ষ থেকে প্রতিবছর আধা ‘সা’ গমকে মাপকাঠি ধরে ওই সময়ের বাজারদর হিসাবে তার মূল্য ফিতরার সর্বনিম্ন পরিমাণ ঘোষণা করা হয়।

উত্তম হলো, নিজ নিজ সামর্থ্য অনুযায়ী বেশি মূল্যের খাদ্যবস্তুকে মাপকাঠি ধরে ফিতরা আদায় করা। কেননা সদকার মূল লক্ষ্যই হলো গরিবদের প্রয়োজন পূরণ ও তাদের স্বার্থ সংরক্ষণ। এ ছাড়া আদায়কারীর সামর্থ্যকেও বিবেচনায় রাখা উচিত, যদিও শরিয়তে সর্বনিম্ন মূল্যে ফিতরা আদায় করার দরজা খোলা রাখা হয়েছে। ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের পক্ষ থেকে যব, কিশমিশ, খেজুর ও পনিরের হিসাবে ফিতরার আলাদা মূল্য নির্ধারণ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে। কেউ চাইলে আটার হিসাবে ফিতরা না দিয়ে উল্লিখিত জিনিসগুলোর হিসাবেও ফিতরা দিতে পারবেন।

পবিত্র ঈদুল ফিতরের নামাজ পড়তে যাওয়ার আগেই সদকাতুল ফিতর আদায় করা উত্তম। তবে রমজান মাসেও তা আদায় করা যায়।

আরবি ‘সদকাতুল ফিতর’ অর্থ ‘ঈদুল ফিতরের সদকা’। ঈদুল ফিতরের দিন আদায় করা হয় বলে একে সদকাতুল ফিতর বলা হয়। একে জাকাতুল ফিতর বা ফিতরাও বলা হয়। সদকাতুল ফিতর বা ফিতরা দেওয়া ওয়াজিব। রাসুল (সা.) ছোট-বড় নারী-পুরুষ সব মুসলমানের জন্য তা আবশ্যক করেছেন।

প্রত্যেক সমর্থ্য মুসলমানের জন্য ফিতরা দেওয়া ওয়াজিব। মাথাপিছু কত টাকা ফিতরা দিতে হবে, তা আগেই রাষ্ট্র কিংবা সংশ্লিষ্ট ধর্মীয় কর্তৃপক্ষ নির্ধারণ করে দেয়। নিয়ম হলো, ঈদের নামাজ পড়তে যাওয়ার আগেই এই ফিতরা পরিশোধ করতে হবে। তারপর ঈদগাহ কিংবা তার অভাবে বড় মসজিদে ঈদের নামাজ আদায় করতে হয়।

What is Zakat al Fitr?

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordained Zakat ul Fitr [Fitrana] to purify the fasting person from indecent words or actions,

... and to provide food for the needy.

[Sunan Ibn Majah 1827]

The quantity is described by the Prophet (PBUH) as 1 saa’ of food, and 1 saa’ is equivalent to 4 madd.

A madd is the amount that can be scooped up when one puts their hands together.

Fitrana must be paid before the Eid prayer. However, if paid after it will be treated as Sadaqah

"you know what i have a different take on this, let's assume hes right, let's assume that Allah created this man polygamous. And also cater to that need by allowing them to have up to 4 different wives, lets assume he's right.

So Allah created men polygamous with a polygamous nature, and also catered to that need by, you know, you can have 4 different wives if you want to.

Interesting how Allah has also created some people to be gay or with the nature to be gay but they have to repress and deny those aspects of them, whereas god has catered to straight man to allow them up to 4 differet wives because of the nature that he also created them as.

you see how that dosnt add up? how god can cater to one nature whilst disregarding the rest. I think people forget that god being the infinite energy has never written any book, god has not written the bible; god has not written the Quran, god has not written the Torah, nothing. People have -excume me- men have, and im not saying those books have no knowledge and wisdom in them, those books have alot of wisdom, but men wrote those books; Which makes sence for all the inconsistencies god because we're inperfect beings trying to create a perfect that there is.

I just find it interesting how Abrahamic religions act like they have god all figured out, 'this is who god is', 'this is what god allows', 'this is-' god is an infinite energy, how do you have god all figured out? That is what i find interesting"

Meaning of life in Islam: The Prophet (peace be upon him) teaches us that God created this primordial need in human nature at the time Adam was made. God took a covenant from Adam when He created him.

God extracted all of Adam’s descendants who were yet to be born, generation after generation, spread them out, and took a covenant from them. He addressed their souls directly, making them bear witness that He was their Lord. Since God made all human beings swear to His Lordship when He created Adam, this oath is imprinted on the human soul even before it enters the fetus, and so a child is born with a natural belief in the Oneness of God. This natural belief is called fitra in Arabic.

Consequently, every person carries the seed of belief in the Oneness of God that lies deeply buried under layers of negligence and dampened by social conditioning. If the child were left alone, it would grow up conscious of God — a single Creator — but all children are affected by their environment. The Prophet of God said, “Each child is born in a state of ‘fitra,’ but his parents make him a Jew or a Christian. It is like the way an animal gives birth to a normal offspring. Have you noticed any young born mutilated before you mutilate them?” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

The Arabs would cut the ears of camels and the likes as a service to their gods in pre-Islamic times.

So, just as the child’s body submits to physical laws, set by God in nature, its soul submits naturally to the fact that God is its Lord and Creator. However, its parents condition it to follow their own way, and the child is not mentally capable of resisting it.

The religion which the child follows at this stage is one of custom and upbringing, and God does not hold it to account for this religion. When a child matures into an adult, he or she must now follow the religion of knowledge and reason.

As adults, people must now struggle between their natural disposition toward God and their desires in order to find the correct path. The call of Islam is directed to this primordial nature, the natural disposition, the imprint of God on the soul, the fitra, which caused the souls of every living being to agree that He Who made them was their Lord, even before the heavens and earth were created, “I did not create the jinn and mankind except for My worship.” (Qur’an, 51:56)

According to Islam, there has been a basic message which God has revealed through all prophets, from the time of Adam to the last of the prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon them). All the prophets sent by God came with the same essential message: “Indeed, We have sent a messenger to every nation (saying), ‘Worship God and avoid false gods...’.” (Qur’an, 16:36)

The prophets (peace be upon them) brought the same answer to mankind’s most troubling question, an answer that addresses the yearning of the soul for God.

What is worship?

Islam means ‘submission’ and worship, in Islam, means ‘obedient submission to the will of God.’ Every created being ‘submits’ to the Creator by following the physical laws created by God, “To Him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and the earth; all obey His will.” (Qur’an, 30:26)

They, however, are neither rewarded nor punished for their ‘submission’, for it involves no will. Reward and punishment are for those who worship God, who submit to the moral and religious Law of God of their own free will. This worship is the essence of the message of all the prophets sent by God to mankind. For example, this understanding of worship was emphatically expressed by Jesus ((peace be upon him), “None of those who call me ‘Lord’ will enter the kingdom of God, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.”

‘Will’ means ‘what God wants human beings to do.’ This ‘Will of God’ is contained in the divinely revealed laws which the prophets taught their followers. Consequently, obedience to divine law is the foundation of worship.

Only when human beings worship their God by submitting to His religious law can they have peace and harmony in their lives and the hope for heaven, just like the universe runs in harmony by submitting to the physical laws set by its Lord. When you remove the hope of heaven, you remove the ultimate value and purpose of life. Otherwise, what difference would it really make whether we live a life of virtue or vice? Everyone’s fate would be the same anyway.

Hand your heart to it's creator, and everything that resides in it. If something is taking away from you your peace and troubling your relationship with God, leave it.

You should not feel like not feeling anything, we were made to feel, love and be loved. Don't try to be cold and heartless, nothing is worth losing your beautiful fitra (innate goodness) for. We should just know what we were created to love, feel for and get attached to. ♡And that's Allah swt♡

Here are some tips I think that might help you<

Make dua to Allah swt, for what's best for you (another way of knowing what's best for you is to reflect on the question that, Is that person or thing is taking you away from Allah swt or making you closer to him?.)

Try not to get attached to an Idea of someone you have made in your mind.

Focus on your priorities in the present.

[But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.] 2:216

May Allah swt make it easy for you. 💐

Arguing about human nature is some of the worst politics in my opinion. The problem with it is that anytime anyone acts in line with your perception, you'll consider it proof of thesis, and when anyone acts out of line with it, you'll consider it proof that humans are being corrupted beyond what makes them human. Humans aren't inherently kind but Corrupted to be Bad under capitalism or whatever. Humans aren't inherently disposed to gender roles or to want a strong, successful man/petite, submissive wife but are brainwashed to want something else by the radical left. Humans are born with fitra, but that's about it.

Zakat is an Islamic finance term referring to the obligation that an individual has to donate a certain proportion of wealth each year to charitable causes.

What Is Zakat?

Zakat is a charity God obligates Muslims to pay yearly, or at harvest, on their money, property, and crops. Its payment is made to the eight categories of poor, vulnerable, and deserving Allah Himself has set forth in the Quran (Surat Al-Tawbah, 9:60). The Prophet Muhammad, on him be peace, enshrined Zakat as the Third of the famed Five Pillars of worship Islam is built on.

The Ruling on Letting the Nails Grow Long and using Nail Polish

Q: What is the ruling on letting nails grow long and using nail polish on them considering that I offer Wudu' (ritual ablution) before I put it on and then remove it after 24 hours?

A: Letting the nails grow long is in disagreement with the Sunnah, as it is authentically reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, Five practices are characteristics of the Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, cutting the moustache short, depilating the hair of the armpits, and clipping the nails.

It is not permissible to leave them without clipping them for more than forty nights according to what is authentically reported from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that he said, the Prophet (ﷺ) told us not to leave trimming our moustaches, cutting nails, removing hair from the armpits, and shaving pubic hair for more than forty days. Moreover, letting them grow long includes likeness to animals and imitation of disbelievers.

With regards to wearing nail polish, it is preferable to avoid doing so. It should be removed before performing Wudu', as it prevents water from reaching the nails.

" قال: إن حديثكم هذا لتشمئز منه قلوب الرجال، فانبذوه إليهم نبذا، فمن أقر به فزيدوه، ومن أنكر فذروه، إنه لا بد من أن تكون فتنة يسقط فيها كل بطانة ووليجة حتى يسقط فيها من يشق الشعرة بشعرتين ((3)) حتى لا يبقى إلا نحن وشيعتنا " ((4)).

4 - حدثنا أبو سليمان أحمد بن هوذة الباهلي، قال: حدثنا أبو إسحاق إبراهيم بن إسحاق النهاوندي سنة ثلاث وسبعين ومائتين ((5))، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن حماد الأنصاري سنة تسع وعشرين ومائتين، عن رجل، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) أنه دخل عليه بعض أصحابه، فقال له:

" جعلت فداك، إني والله أحبك وأحب من يحبك، يا سيدي ما أكثر شيعتكم.

فقال له: أذكرهم.

فقال: كثير.

فقال: تحصيهم؟

فقال: هم أكثر من ذلك.

It translates something like this:

i heard imam al hadi (as) say: “do the people assume that they will be left to say that they believe without being tested through a schism” (Quranic verse*)

Then he asked (us) what does the schism in this verse mean?

I answered: may our life be given to you from what we know the schism means schism in religious matters

The imam answers: they will cause schisms as they look for gold in the ground and as they purify and create gold after they find it. (Meaning they will covet and chase after schisms as they chase after valuable ore.)

The imam al baqer is cited to add on the first hadith, he says: this hadith of yours (about us fitna, the ahlul bayt) the hearts of men with reject it, so relay it to them and if they accept it, increase them in our ahadith, and those who reject out sayings keep them far away. There will be a schism that will be lodged down deep in men’s hearts where they hold their secrets, until finally the schism will reach those who can split a hair in two, until there is no one left except for us a.k.a. Imam Al mahdi and his Shia.

Here the man who can split the hair into as a reference to scholars who are so learned and so detailed and well read that they know a vast amounts of information. this person has confined the idea of knowledge to knowing facts while never having any true conviction or instinct that would guide him in the time of great schisms.

Use your gut instincts, your fitra, and pay attention to all of the polar opposite narratives that are provided for you in the greater strategy of tension, when you see them, step outside of the roles assigned to you. Live as if you were Adam and God just put you on earth as much as possibly can.

"The Term." From Surah 6, Al An'am, the Cattle.

In the following Allah acknowledges we are a work in progress, but the time is coming we have to step out of the kiln and become a glazed pot that will hold water.

6:128-134

And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when He will gather them together [and say], "O company of jinn, you have [misled] many of mankind." And their allies among mankind will say, "Our Lord, some of us made use of others, and we have [now] reached our term, which you appointed for us."

He will say, "The Fire is your residence, wherein you will abide eternally, except for what Allah wills. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing."

And thus will We make some of the wrongdoers allies of others for what they used to earn.

"O company of jinn and mankind, did there not come to you messengers from among you, relating to you My verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves"; and the worldly life had deluded them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

That is because your Lord would not destroy the cities for wrongdoing while their people were unaware.

And for all are degrees from what they have done. And your Lord is not unaware of what they do.

And your Lord is the Free of need, the possessor of mercy. If He wills, he can do away with you and give succession after you to whomever He wills, just as He produced you from the descendants of another people.

Indeed, what you are promised is coming, and you will not cause failure [to Allah ].

Commentary:

The Gematria starts with the comment the Lord will not destroy the cities. We have acted as if we believe He will, and there is no way out. This is false. The three verses afterward explain how a Turn to the Right will develop the opposite idea, that Allah wants us to succeed but also that we need to stop breaking the eggs and at last make the omelet.

North What is Hidden of God: Your Lord would not destroy the cities. The Value in Gematria is 8804, חח אֶפֶסד, haha I will lose. "What was, I will lose."

East What is Revealed of God: And for all are degrees from what they have done. The Value in Gematria is 1420, אד‎ ב‎‎אֶפֶס, ed at zero, "until zero."

South What is Understood of God: And your Lord is the Free of need, the possessor of mercy. The Value in Gematria is 15012, י״האֶפֶסאב‎‎‎, j. hafesbad, "Third, the Father of the Alphabet."

West: What is Enlightened of God: What you are promised is coming. The Value in Gematria is 5032, האֶפֶסגב‎‎‎, hafesgave, "the face of the summit."

What is the summit of the Quran and how does it unveil the Faces of Allah? The answer is Tasfir, or the Exegesis of God through the laws of economics, which the Hadith states are like a decorated horse that carries the authority of the Prophet around the world.

"Al-Qurtubi in his Tafsir al-Jaami li Ahkaam al-Qur’an cites the first of the seven matters in which the leader of the community is to be obeyed as ‘the minting of dirhams and dinars’ In other words not only is the establishment and overseeing of bimetal currency a duty of the person in authority but also obedience in accepting and promoting it is a duty of the people.

The importance of the mint lies in its reviving the means of purification of society from riba (interest) and from its denial of fitra (natural essence).

Thus tawhid manifests in the aqeeda but also in the myriad aspects of the mu’amulat (laws of economics): Allah has prescribed how to act in every situation.

To deny that Allah and His Messenger have prescribed the necessity of the mint, the dinar and dirham, the market and just trade is to deny tawhid.

People without tawhid make a split between this world and the next – the Muslim ruler joins, unites and establishes tawhid: in his capacity as the safeguarder of the mint, the bayt al-mal, the markets, the currency and trade he ensures that tawheed extends into this world."

The Holy Quran is the disembodiment of this decorated horse. Although it was written long ago, it is telling us now that our time is almost up.

Mind the Gap

I think we can mostly agree that the world is a glorified dumpster fire. Most people are doing their best to get by in all manner of inhumane conditions. While I believe down to my bones that Islam is the truth, I am not here to talk about sin or fixing your life on an individual level. That's actually your job to deal with and my hands are full of my own problems. However, I will speak from a framework that assumes Islam is the truth. Please respect that. And please respect my choice not to correct others in their comment sections - I would ask that you show the same respect and kindness to me. What I say here is meant to approach what I perceive to be the root of the problem so that it can be addressed. What is welcome in my comment section are open discourse and questions of all kinds.

I would like to begin by drawing the reader's attention to the concept of Ethnocentrism. It is as relevant as it ever has been, and bearing this in mind will likely help you to maintain an open mind and open heart while approaching a topic that comes tied to fear by design. We can't have an honest discussion about religion and simultaneously ignore the reality of culture or death. Additionally, all peoples of the world report religious trauma, religious abuse, and bad actors within their belief systems. You might suggest that some communist regimes are exempt but I would argue that they're merely replacing a God worthy of worship with something Earthly as the ultimate concern. Abuse, abuse as far as the eye can see. But does this prove that God does not exist? Or does it simply prove that Man is rather an expert at losing his way?

In the West, and in other westernized parts of the world that have been subject to extensive Christian missionary work, we tend to frame our worldview from the perspective of Christianity. Atheism is a rejection of Christianity. Satanism is framed around the Christian perspective of Satan or what remains after we reject the Christian notion of God. We see Islam as the naughty little cousin of Christianity and it is frequently associated with war and hatred in the news and other media. It remains a stone that is not worth turning over, as it is likely harboring rot underneath. However, it is increasingly more common for people to turn over and adopt the wisdom found underneath many of the other stones. These traditions also have histories of violence but they aren't well publicized and therefore, seem to lack the moral and ethical conflicts that need to be hurdled in order to adopt them. Fish are also prone to swallowing hooks when all they see is the worm. Then again, nobody leaves the Catholic church over the knowledge of the Crusades or the Spanish Inquisition. There are certainly multiple standards in play.

Bare with me as I dig a bit deeper. The Ummah is in shambles. We fail to unify over disagreements as trivial as those found in the American Leftist movement today. When new converts come to the religion, members are quick to correct and slow to assist. We seem to assume that the fitra will float right back to the top despite the fact that it took 23 years for the Prophet ﷺ to receive the Qur'an and teach his companions how to behave as proper Muslims. Growing up as a heritage Muslim makes one forget that while Islam may be easy to practice once known and understood, it is difficult to learn. We let centuries old disputes about leadership divide us to this day though I would argue this history is what preserved the faith in its entirety, unlike the distorted paths our cousins in faith would come to follow. Despite not having a clerical structure, anyone (but let's be real, I'm talking about women) not appearing Muslim enough online is subject to verbal injury, but once you cross the line of appearing too Muslim, nobody outside of the fold of Islam will see your content. Thanks algorithm! Additionally, discussing sins is a huge taboo in the faith because we believe that God covers our sins and exposing them will force us to bear the additional weight of them on the Day of Judgement. This makes it difficult, if not impossible, to speak candidly and openly about the cultural bridge that must be built in order to span the educational divide.

Showing my hair AND being knowledgeable at the same time has the potential to provide western women with courage and comfort in knowing that they can ease into the myriad changes they will face if they make the decision to convert. Unfortunately, it also acts as an invitation to my brothers and sisters to correct me, often in shamelessly abusive ways. Where is YOUR haya? Are you incapable of understanding that there might be something going on here that you aren't aware of? Wearing the half niqab is labeled as too conservative and invites others to remind me of my oppressed status for not showing my face. But here I sit in my apartment in the most comfortable chair wearing a headband and a ponytail, and you can't see my face, and nobody can complain about either because these are merely words on a screen.

Dear reader, do you know what Muslims believe? If you yourself believe that Christianity is corrupt, why do you not learn more about the faith that agrees with you? Or has your greater culture made you so afraid of "Arabic things" that you couldn't possibly consider turning over that stone? It's not like the media would consistently lie. Where's the benefit in that?
