'guardian' is the best term you could give him. they are his apprentices #he taught them magic and combat and they probably guided souls in his stead. but they arent family. to me #i think its possible in this au that once they all got free THEN they started bonding more #like baal and aym would have spent a long time with their mother but given their immortality from having some of the crowns powers #they would eventually return out of a sense of duty that they were raised with. which would lead to more genuine interaction #i think narinder could have a habit of taking in strays but i dont think he would be their dad. just someone to feed and protect them #until theyre old enough to leave. yknow #but i LIKE the idea of him being nice. because i am a sap. i think its sweet when people draw them getting along

[SPOILERS AHEAD FROM THIS POINT ON]

This seems to be the first time that we've ever had 2 Short Missions released one after the other (I mean, after the BOMBSHELL that was dropped in Mission 96, it's no wonder why Endo is taking his time to give us Mission 97...!! 😁) But just because it's another Short Mission (and a Special Illustration), doesn't mean we don't have anything to talk about!! So let's get into it, shall we...? 😉

First up, let's talk about the Special Illustration...:

Now on to the Short Mission, which was all about Bond...!! 😄

The family left for the day, leaving poor Bond alone and bored. But, that didn't stop him from having an eventful day...! First, a delivery man came by...:

And since no one answered the door, the delivery man left, which means Bond did his "job" and starts looking for some food, when:

HE BREAKS A GLASS AND GOES INTO ANYA TO ESCAPE YOR'S POSSIBLE WRATH!! 😂 But while he's hiding in Anya's room, THIS HAPPENS:

I was honestly confused by how Bond could hear Agent Penguinman's thoughts, but it made laugh, so...!! 😅

It seems like Bond still feels bad about attacking Agent Penguinman all the way back in Short Mission 3, so he brings the stuff animal the fish that the Forgers were gonna have for dinner as an apology...! Then, Bond thinks about his past:

This image breaks my heart so much... The people who experimented on Bond and those other dogs are awful human beings and hope that they'll eventually get what's coming to them...

Then right after that memory, Bond does this to Agent Penguinman...:

Then when the Forgers return home, Yor wonders what to the fish that was in the fridge as we cut to seeing Bond sleeping next to Agent Penguinman with the fish in front of Anya's door...! 💗

And that was Short Mission 13, a nice and sweet little chapter...! 🤗 Seeing a little more of Bond's past really hurts my soul, none of those animals deserved to suffer like that... People who hurt animals and children are the lowest of the low, so I hope that whoever was involved with those experiments is stopped completely, but only time will tell...

#in the dream i was like editing it but i was also there? it was weird. it started as a dream about lawson in a zombie apocalypse #ok important tags first so i can write an essay #ts4 #ts4 render #ts4 edit #the sims 4 #beckett #lawson #blood sports #but yeah if you haven't been here before beckett and lawson never knew each other as kids #if they did it would be a butterfly effect and mess w a bunch of other plot details. so i decided to work around it #also if ur new they've had a friends with benefits thing going on for a long time but lawson is in love with him. beck doesn't know #originally beckett was put in foster care as a baby bc of neglect and was bounced around foster homes for years #he was a troubled child always getting in fights a kleptomaniac undiagnosed autism etc etc foster families tried and just didn't want him #then when he was around 12 a very nice old lady named cora got him and they ended up forming a great bond they loved each other #she was going to adopt him then when beckett was around 15 or 16 his birth mother reentered the picture and wanted him back #it started a really nasty legal battle and cora died. we can't say for sure it was the stress of this fight but beckett certainly thinks so #anyway he did go back with his birth mother and things got really bad for him. he dropped out of school started doing worse crimes and so o #but none of that is what even changed #now LAWSON is also from west virigina like beckett. it's a small town lawson was new he had no friends #he was a very clingy possessive child who cried and threw tantrums so much #he met beckett and the rest is history. beckett didn't really mind how lawson acted he didn't really find him annoying like everyone elsedi #besides he didn't have friends either #lawson has wealthy parents they were welcoming to beckett at first if a little apprehensive. then he stole something from their house #and lawson wasn't allowed to hang out with him anymore. but he still did in secret. they still have no idea that beckett's even still aroun #or just how involved lawson is with him and his. activities 😬 they just think he's their good little college boy #in the original beckett moved to Not Gotham City when his mother got him back but in this version lawson is going to college there #and beckett's been distant from him for a while things are awful for him and lawson says hey. what if you gave the city a try. and he did #so really you could say the events of blood sports are all lawson's fault the end

i really liked the ending of the buddy daddies anime, i think it fits the story and what annoys me now are people who are trashing this ending because of that line about kazuki meeting with a girl and that he's not gay for rei, well they were never said to be gay it's just a headcanon. not dating doesn't equal not caring about each other, romantic love is not a necessity and a qpr is not inferior to a romantic relationship. they were shown to be a real happy family in the end, that's what is important here

I am caught on the self indulgent idea of Jaheira and Halsin and hair combing and braiding, but particularly extending their services to Tav and the gang.

#BG3 Musing #Halsin Posting #jaheira is quick - braids tight and pulls a little and tells you to stop squirming but her braids are all immaculate by the end #and halsin is slower and surprisingly dexterous with his hands but the braids are generally looser and freer feeling #and he'll info dump about what certain styles and placements mean in elven circles #and he prefers the combing part because it reminds him of his familial circles and how his mother would comb all of their hair #and it was a bonding experience #he'll ask if you want him to - jaheira will snark that it looks like a magpie took nest in your hair and motion you over #astarion absolutely wants neither of them to touch his hair at first but the lure of a combing is a very strong one #so they wear him down eventually #lae'zel is also harder to convince but halsin helped get her hair unmatted in the back after a particularly grueling day #and even though she kept grumbling that he can pull it harder and get it over with and got antsy - she actually really liked it #jaheria is *really* good at keeping up wyll's cornrows and parts extraordinarily #and halsin tuts sympathetically when shadowheart tells him she can't remember either of her parents braiding her hair #karlach is ALL FOR IT after her engine is fixed because having your hair combed by someone else??? feels so nice?? #(she wiggles and fidgets far too much though) #i am in the craving mood for elvish styles of bonding okay especially with so many elves and half elves in the party #jaheira may have been a little dodgy on the being a mom side but i believe she took care of her children

absolutely wild to me that for me, i have the story laid out and the comics prepared ahead of time so it's one long sequence. but because it's posted bi-weekly, moments linger and the intended and unintended feelings of the scene last for days, if not weeks.

biggest point: tuesday and thursday work together to me in a simple scene of (set up) and (pay off). but without that pay off, you get a different impression than what i was expecting... i guess this is a microcosm of when i wrote Asriel as a total Jerkwad but I knew their true intentions the whole time. like it was easy to paint them so cruel, cause i knew the pay off was an interesting introspection and critique of capitalism and closeting/isolating oneself from loved ones and soceity.

one of these i gotta reread the story and try my best not to think about my perspective as the writer and think over how i protrayed asriel earlier on in the continue arc.

since you guys actually lived through it- what's your thoughts? did i go too hard in that portrayal? i remember at least one person thought i actually hated asriel because of this at one point afkjasdf

i should mention this chapter serves to humanize Asriel's breakdown and set up a couple aspects of their heel turn to face turn (what would that be called??) hard to explain but basically, you can see Asriel's callousness and "super villian" energy at full display but it's all painted in (what i hope) a very sympathetic and understandable light.

i reaaaally love the tug and pull "is asriel flowey? was asriel flowey all along?" dynamic of the story and i'm hoping this scene can be pointed to as evidence for either side of the arguement

#i also wanna strengthen the family's bonds by having them spend time with each other without drama and just having a nice time #but i think thats kinda... boring in itself and doesn't move the plot along #so it feels weird and hard to justify showing them just farting around enjoying each other but its important for the story to get some down #time after all that action #and i DO love the mundane and loving moments so don't get me wrong here #i'm talking about where characters are just... literally not doing anything. past the banter and characterization they're just not being #proactive. and its hard to write that #let alone pace and feel whats not boring for the reader... #hope i'm making sense #ANYWAY i get so frickin rambly at 1am #ooc #tbd #not art

you know what would automatically change my hatred to love for sasusaku? If their genders were reversed. Majority of the reason why I hate sasuke and sakura relationship is because the type of environment and the culture I grew up in where it's been fed to women since basically birth to always be faithful to her man no matter how terrible he treats her, even after marriage. The pharse, "Just be patient and he will change", infuriates me to another level. Seeing sakura chasing after sasuke throughout the series after numerous rejections and an attempted MURDER on her by him made me roll my eyes so hard like girl just move the fuck on omfg. And even after their "marriage" sasuke's treatment towards her doesn't get better lmao, leaving her alone with a whole ass child to take care by herself?? BYE sakura's patience for him is outmatch cus I would've divorced his ass for that. Though, the more I mature, little by little I begin to understand the complexity of their relationship after putting my gender issues aside for a second and look deep into them. And especially now, after reading your perspective on their whole relationship, it really did made half of my hatred go away and understand the relationship wholeheartedly. Like yeah, I absolutely love the trope of one person saying they don't deserve the other person's love but the other person keep loving them anyway, that stuff makes me giggle and swing my legs in the air and shit. It's just that the only way this trope would work for me if the person loving them has enough self-respect for themselves AND if it's a girl in the former & the guy in the latter. And honestly, I found naruto being borderline obsessed with sasuke annoying too but the reason why I can digest it more well is because naruto can go head to head with sasuke without backing down. Like, I wanted to see at least ONCE sakura having a heated argument with sasuke, or punch him in the face in the series. I feel like sasuke deserves a punch from her at the very least 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sigh, I really did wanna love their relationship and their journey to love (that scene of him catching her when she was about to fall and then having that iconic eye contact had me feeling butterflies ngl) since it has all the tropes I love but the execution is just so...

i mean if it helps any i absolutely hate post-canon and that's where my primary divide with most sasusaku fans lies 😭 i'm not sure if you read the blue-plums post i reblogged but it's a good dissection of why exactly it fails as a conclusion to both their individual arcs and their relationship arc generally. the post-canon we see is a direct answer to what sasuke's and sakura's dreams are at the start of the series, but the problem with this is that sasuke and sakura are nowhere near being the same people at the end of the series as they were at the start. generally, i don't think post-canon really takes the individual arc of any character into much account. its primary goal is maintaining the status quo with a slight veneer of friendship power draped over it for aesthetics. but nothing at the root is changed despite every traumatic development the characters were relentlessly subjected to. resultantly, you're left with a portrayal of sasuke as a neglectful father who glorifies the lone-wolf hero trope, which goes against everything he could possibly have learned from itachi; and you're left with a portrayal of sakura as someone content to keep house despite the bulk of her character arc being grounded in her ability and desire to take initiative not only at home, but abroad. it's not true to who either of them is by that point and, even more than that, it's a disservice to everything they've put themselves through for the sake of the love they were vying for. so while i love sasusaku as it progresses up through 699, i tend to wholeheartedly ignore whatever comes after and relegate that instead to either my own imagination or blue-plums's in her fics

what i will say about the naruto and sakura distinction is that a lot of people are more comfortable with how sasuke reacts to naruto bc they believe what naruto is doing is right. it's kind of like: if the only thing sasuke will realistically respond to is violence then obv naruto can resort to that violence without dwelling on it too much. but if you think about violence in the context of sasuke's entire life, it's not actually helpful at all beyond its ability to physically bring him to a grinding halt. even when naruto finally breaks through to sasuke, it's not the violence that makes things click for him. it's the words he says after, and it's the words he's always said before that that have stayed in sasuke's mind. violence, in contrast, is a poisonous thing for sasuke bc it's the only thing that has defined the parameters of his entire life. it robbed him of every person he cared about prior to his meeting team seven, and inevitably it intimidated him into seeking out more violence once he realized that he was incapable of saving the new people he'd come to care about as well. everything, at the root, was driven by sasuke's traumatically-exacerbated response to love and loss. the idea of losing naruto and sakura to the hands of anyone else was unbearable. so he decided that he'd rather have killed them himself. it was absolutely irrational. but a twelve year old child put through that kind of successive, relentless trauma was never going to think rationally, and certainly not after being exploited by people like orochimaru and obito (and to an extent itachi) in turn

all of this to say: there is of course a gendered aspect to the fact that sakura's response to sasuke is markedly not violence. but i also think people sort of refuse to dissect her response any further and esp in context of the narrative itself. despite being the hallmark of rationality within the team and perhaps even the series, sakura was inevitably always driven by the value she placed on humanity. it would've been so easy and rational and "right" to kill sasuke bc he was an insurgent, a terrorist, a danger to public safety, etc. but sakura knew it was more complicated than that. even without knowing about the intricacies of the uchiha massacre she'd been a witness to his suffering and struggle and helplessness. she was as much unable to kill him bc of her love for him as she was unable to kill him bc she knew it wouldn't be right. bc really, what would it solve. sasuke being written off or dying would accomplish nothing bc he would become one more person in the long line of victims to nationalism and the military-industrial complex. while naruto's desire to retrieve sasuke was driven by his love for him it was also driven by the fact that he was stubborn and relentless and refused to give up on people. if you won't believe in yourself i'll beat the belief into you. it's a very shounen-esque trait. in contrast, sakura's desire to retrieve sakura, while also driven by her love for him, was significantly driven by her ability to see that sasuke needed help. in fact, that's all she ever wanted him to get: help. and it would be one thing for this to be an isolated desire but when you read it in context of her own goals as a medic and a mental health professional, her unwavering belief in sasuke is a lot more striking. she was the only person in the entire narrative who never resorted to violence as a solution to sasuke's problems. and she was angry, to be sure. much as she loves him the struggle to bring him back and convince him that he was worthy of love and healing left her emotionally exhausted. but they're also children at the end of the day. she could've been angry at him, or naruto could've been angry him, and in the end none of it would've mattered in the face of knowing they'd finally gotten through to him. he had a smile on his face, he didn't have an arm anymore, and for the first time in his life he met a loss with utter peace and content. it was a thing of miracles after six years of relentless grief and sorrow, and nothing else could've been on their mind.

at the end of the day, team seven's love for sasuke isn't rational. the farthest thing from it, really. but that's what makes it so radical in context. if love in naruto was only ever meant to be rational then hardly anyone would survive. love was always written as an act of defiance and for however subtle the depiction sakura exemplified it

I wonder what ani and padmé would have been like as parents to Luke and Leia, and later grandparents to Ben. Like I don't have any great developed thoughts on that whole au concept I just do love the thought. Ben has so much impressive family, and a lot of uncles and aunts to look up to. If a lot of things had gone a lot differently, idk how, and padmé and ani got to grow older and stronger together, if Ben were to have his grandfather not only as a legend but as a person to hold him and tell him stories, I wonder what that would have been like.

#what if ben wants really badly to be a knight like his uncle is when hes young bc girls are gross or whatever and hes shy and awkward #so hes pretty sure hes never gonna be with anyone anyway #and then when hes almost 30 he meets rey and he has his oh moment #padmé was quite a bit older than anakin so it looks like ben will be more like his grandmother than he realized #rey actually is a nobody from nowhere bc duh #but despite her lack of etiquette training or politicking she fits in with princess leia like SO well and the fam loves her #especially when they start noticing the changes in ben... cripplingly shy and quiet ben is trying to woo rey and failing adorably #or so it seems. mostly because he doesnt come out and speak his intentions.. sure that a girl like her wouldnt actually want him #never mind that theyre dyads and they share a mind connection. he somehow finds a way to misinterpret her emotional responses #mostly because he has no measure for these things in his own life #but also.. neither does rey. and a lot of new stuff is happening in her life including suddenly having the force and a forcebond #with a prince of the galaxy of all people !! shes got some major imposter syndrome going on #oh maybe its also implied that she will be bens queen because of the forcebond from the time they find out so its SORT OF an arranged #marriage?? and she obviously senses his anxiety and trepidation and he clearly is willing to go through with it.. even trying to court her #but she thinks its better if they dont try bc the force may be saying they have to be together but she believes in making her own choices #and she actually thinks bens a nice guy and a good friend to have. but obviously she says this to him trying to make things better #tells him they should just be friends. she likes him and his family and is so grateful they accepted her but they should get to choose #so ben takes this with grace (lol) and he does agree to be her friend because its better than nothing right and everything about her is just #so captivating to him that he cant help but friendzone himself. but on the way to strengthening their bond and training together they grow #closer and the tension between them coils tightly. so rey TOLD ben they should have a choice and she doesn't want to go back on that #theyre still arranged to be married or perhaps they already are married but living separately. but still she doesnt want to make him think #shes fickle or ruin their friendship because she cant control herself. shes clearly confusing her feelings for his too (shes not) #and ben is majorly confused when he realizes that the affection he feels is returned at long last he doesnt know if he should confront her #or if he should be subtle about it. courting didnt seem to work last time but things are different now. he brings her gifts theres nothing #wrong with that. so he's picked up on gift giving but more personalized? and hes taking her on trips bc she wants to see different worlds #he already reads books about topics that interest her but now he gifts them to her or talks about those topics #and shes so determined to keep it to herself he realizes that he kisses her!! he feels so confident and assured in that moment. he knowswhat #he feels and he knows what she feels. theres no need to hold back any longer. he doesn't want to. ben takes her hand and goes before his #grandparents to ask for their blessing for marriage. everyone is pleased to finally be able to speak freely of them. ben and rey and both #overjoyed. theirs is the biggest most extravagant wedding in the galaxy. moreso than han and leias. everything is perfect

ej goes to take out some anger(unknlwingly on his part.) on fark while hes washing dishes and gets met w “mhmm.” It weirds him out so he stomps up to fark like YOURE ACTING WEIRD.

#fark turns to him and very bluntly(also unintentional. hes trying to be playful.) is like you know what i think is weird. you not helping #with these dishes. And he hands him a plate to which ej stares at for a few seconds before we cut to farkej both washing dishes in the sink #ej holds a spoon the wrong way when hes washin it and he gets Blasted w water and farks like oh let me help you #Readjusts yhe spoon and hes like you can also turn the water down if you need to #i just like to work fast. #And ej is a little mad bc I GOT IT. but in the end it is a very nice bonding experience btwn the two. #theyd totally splash eachother a lilbit too. #stej thots #THIS IS EARLY in their family being formed btw. #ej not being used to ‘mhmm’ in contrast to people being mean to him right back.
