random ask: what is your go-to daily drink? your special occasion drink? detail delightful, recipe spectacular.

My daily go to drink used to be a medium Iced Capp (which is like a cappuccino with cream and sugar that's blended with ice if you aren't a timmies person - even in the winter that is worth a trek) or a large iced coffee from Tim Hortons (it is literally right down the street from where I work), but since I've been trying to significantly cut down on caffeine, those are now usually special occasion drinks (especially in the summer when they bring back the Oreo Iced Capp which is the same blend but like an Oreo McFlurry with oreos and whipped cream - which they have this year and I've gotten one every weekend lmao).

Nowadays I've become boring in that my daily drink is eight glasses of water a day (or at least I try), and if I'm feeling daring, I'll have some juice XD I will occasionally on a day to day basis have a decaf coffee with a sugar free flavoured syrup that I keep at the office.

My more "special occasion" drink, which I get if I'm in that part of town or if I have had a not good dayTM, is a medium Mango Fruit or Passion Fruit Green bubble tea with popping mango boba and coconut jellies from the boba shop we have in the city. It's refreshing and delicious and I wish I could recreate that at home (if I got my hands on the bobas and jellies I feel like I could figure out the rest).

if you like crafting and also free things, might i suggest the antique pattern library?

it’s a not for profit that’s gathering books, patterns, and other materials related to crafting that are out of copyright (or getting permission from copyright holders in some cases) in order to share them online. they scan items, clean them up, then make everything available for free!

free things are great, especially when you’re just starting to get into something. like oh, i’m supposed to spend money on this hobby i just picked up 20 minutes ago???

the first time i ended up on the site, i seriously spent hours just trawling through everything. there’s the usual suspects like knitting, crochet, embroidery, but there’s also woodwork, calligraphy, and books on things like how to mount and frame pictures. with cross stitch patterns, they also make modern charts with the dmc colour codes available.

also i love that the phrase "piss on the poor" is functionally an effective shorthand on here for "someone has a lack of reading comprehension". wonder how long it will be before the knowledge that it is an intentional misapprehension of the phrase "piss poor" disappears and we get a Reader who says. the phrase piss on the poor is so cruel we should say something else
