Above the clumps of large heart-shaped leaves Valeriana pyrenaica (Pyrenean valerian) produces heads of tiny lilac flowers which are followed by clouds of fluffy seed-heads. This plant needs a moist soil and will cope with partial shade. It is popular with spring pollinators.

Valeriana pauciflora , Largeflower Valerian

Iodanthus pinnatifidus , Purple Rocket

Both are pictured here in rich mesic woods, however both are found more commonly in alluvial flood plain woods and in riparian zones of minor tributary.

Valeriana pauciflora is considered a core ILP species for the most part though it breaches into Appalachia more so than the other companion species pictured. My favorite part is it’s super disjunct super locally common population in Northern MI.

Iodanthus pinnatifidus is the only member of the genus in north America and has a core in the ILP making it’s way into the Northwestern sections of the Appalachian Mountains and a bit into the Ozarks and central USA.

She managed to unite the kingdom under one banner… a banner of interdimensional conquest and ambition. Peace came to Amphibia, and with it a Golden Age. However, this peace led to the conquest and subjugation of other worlds. 1/2

Yes, I can pretty much guess who it is. No need to say her name. But it basically implies that she's a g h o s t (boo) now so that's neat, albeit a bit weird. I mean, she clearly has a physical presence considering the whole "setting a shop" thing. This implies she also does business and procures monetary income.

I've talked to a few and one suggested that she might just be a descendant or reincarnation of the inventor. A bit off than the last parts of the note but a possibility nonetheless.

What I do like about this lore is that it actually gives her a better reason of, well, existing. Prior to this, she was basically this sage character that no one knew anything about and her only purpose was to help the main character with her goal. She was less of a character and more of a plot tool. But now, she's got (more solid) personality and I like that! Not only did she build the box, but she also built Newtopia (somewhat).

Still, the odd change of heart between parts 1 & 2 is a bit clashing. So she subjugated so many worlds and only felt bad after, what, 10s and 20s of them? A bit too late on that tbh. There has to be something in the middle that caused a change of heart. Sudden changes like that don't just happen without motivation.

Some personal notes:

I already made my own lore regarding the creation of the box for fanfic reasons, so seeing this does put a spanner in some things. I was going to have the box's creation be this tragic story of betrayal between two brother kings, the responsibility to the nation, and the weight of a crown (who are Andrias' ancestors). However, I can still implement this new info to the mix. I just need to rework it somewhat.

The box's creation is NOT the focus of the note at all. It's just a blurb at the beginning. This gives me a lot of breathing space and freedom to add in things without being too different (it will be different).

This also shows that the box and the Core aren't related at all; proven in the series by the fact that the Core doesn't fully know how to use it. It does reveal that the Core WASN'T the reason for the whole "invading other worlds" thing. They've been doing it for years even before the Core. The Core is simply a way to make it more efficient.

Now, despite the reveal, I still want to put my take over the box's creation in my fanfic. Do you guys want to hear it? It'll be more detail in the story and is technically a fanfic spoiler but not plot-heavy spoiler.
