UNDER ONE ROOF WITH "H"

I've spent hours, days, weeks, months, years — with the wrong "boy".

It's funny how I made myself stupid in front of my friends, classmates, family.. that someday, me and this boy will live under the same roof to make our own family. Lucky me, I never got myself into that situation or I'll hate myself even more.

Two years ago, I made a really big and random decision that shocked everyone, even me.. and it changed everything, as in everything.

I chose a random guy named H which I'd met only for a few weeks over my long-time boyfriend — he will be forever an ex now, by the way.

It was too fast and too overwhelming. Too much had happened within a month. I just felt that I love H more than I loved my ex. "Pinaramdam niya sa akin in a span of one month 'yung mga bagay na never kong naramdaman sa loob ng siyam na taon."

I was drawn to H. There was something about him that I couldn't resist. Something that filled the whole that was long within me which came to a random decision that really changed the whole thing. At last, I felt it. The feeling of completeness, joy, peace, and sincerity that I was longing to feel.

H, though had a small similarity with my ex in some aspects was way too different from him when it comes to attitude and personality. H made me experience love like, "Lord, ang tagal kong ipinagdasal 'to, akala ko hindi na mangyayari 'to. Akala ko pangarap na lang talaga 'to." But no, it wasn't a dream. For so many years of wishful thinking, finally it wasn't a dream anymore. I know it's a bit off to compare, but how could I not when I'm living the dream I'd been wanting for so long with this new guy I'd only just met?

H was not the "prince" type, he's more of the "bad guy" type which really amuses me up until now. He's not the ideal type. He smoked. He had slept with so many girls. He's a member of some sort of fraternity. But that was all before he made me his girlfriend. Honestly, I was not into bad guys, but crap, I love the guy. I love H!

H knew his way to my heart and more importantly, to my family. They love H — most especially, my mother. This guy changed everything and made me do things I never did my entire life being in a relationship which for me was a good thing — a little reckless but a part of growing up. I discovered something within myself, good and bad.. and now I'm living with the H, the bad guy, under one roof.

Imagine? We're dating for less than two years and I am living with him for almost half a year now. I've got myself a boyfriend with a loving family. Lucky me.

Looking back, those nine years with my ex was still a blessing. Bittersweet. If it wasn't for him, I would never appreciate a relationship like this. I would never know how it feels to be treated fairly. To be loved by someone that's true to his words. I am grateful that once — I mean, many times — I experience happiness, pain, betrayal.. invested too much love.. had to beg for time and attention, begged for love. I wasted nine years of my life waiting for something that I knew would never come. I waited for him to change his heart. Yes, he did.. but it was too late. H had my whole heart.

If it weren't for those experiences, I would never did what I did and I would never be the girl that I am today. I was still the same girl from before though I must say that I am now much braver.

Just too glad that it was all in the past now. I am now happy and in love with my complete opposite. Living with with a guy like H is so special. A princess-ish kind of living. He cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner for me. I wake up everyday with his arm around my waist. I sleep peacefully every night without worrying that maybe, he's doing something fishy again behind my back or flirting with other girls.

H wasn't perfect. Yes, he's flawed. . but a kind of flaw that would never hurt. He's a "bad guy", yes, but with a beautiful heart.
