Been thinking about this LU update a lot, and I see a lot of people talking about how everyone seems to be talking about Wind and Legend and how those two had the cutest expressions.

But can we just take a moment to appreciate the real MVP right here.

This. This is the face of a man who's proud to see that all his hard work paid off and his efforts weren't in vain. Twilight is alive. His friend is alive because of his healing. He finally feels like he accomplished something.

And for a character who's self worth is literally through the floor... That's huge, even if he's in the background and trying not to show it. Twilight is alive and everyone is happy, and Hyrule actually did something.

Ted and Lucy In The Rain

The part in The Hatchetfield Ape-Man where Konk freaks out over water falling from the sky is such a good moment because, if you stop to think about it, it would make no sense if Konk was actually real. The Hatchetfield Ape Man is an outdoor creature from Michigan of all places, he wouldn't be scared or confused by a bit of rain. At first it feels like a mistake on the Langs' part, a character oversight that just slipped through the cracks. But then the full story snaps into focus and you realize that it wasn't the Langs who messed up, but Ted. Lucy was just too blinded by her own hopes and fantasies to notice.

Great fucking writing.

I have officially finished my adventure time (partially-re-)watch, so now I shall finally commence catching up on the like 80+ eps of one piece I'm behind as my new (old) idle show 👌

#y'all adventure time is good #idk if y'all knew this #but that's a good show it's hecking good #there are many things in it that I am just absolutely in awe of #cause I don't think I've ever seen them done in that way/that well/extensively before #and it's also like- writing good? like it's good until the end??? #which is rare?? and I appreciate so much?? #and the lore is fairly consistent throughout in spite of the many different eras we see flashbacks etc of #and the ending isn't disappointing cause they give you a buncha epilogues to let you off gently it's so nice #and the characters oh boy the characters #princess bubblegum as a character is such an interesting combination of stuff #she's a mad scientist and an immortal autocrat ruling a kingdom of her own purposefully dim creations #and y'all have only ever notified me of the lesbianism I just- #tree trunks is an icon #they nailed the old hippy lady thing so well in so many ways #turtle princess & LSP is an underappreciated ship I feel #the whole princesses system alone makes for so many interesting and varied female characters #which so many other pieces of media lack resulting in less wlw shipping material smh #once I finish one piece again I shall see if I can find the new fionna & cake one n watch that too #adventure time #one piece

unpopular opinion: ra-im is by far the most interesting character in operation true love. the writers did a great job making her complex. she’s an absolute mess of maladaptive coping practices because of her unprocessed grief and the inability to fill the void her mother left. she’s knows she’s wrong, but doesn’t know how to get help so she can stop and that results in her sinking deeper into wrong doing. she is hurting and therefore pushing su-ae away despite the fact that she does care for her. with ra-im you get to see how grief and isolation turns her into the worst version of herself and that is why i am the exact opposite of the most of webtoon comments; when ra-im appears i tune the fuck in because i know the writers are gonna do something.

#and when the romance stuff is happening i tune out lol #operation true love #the family messes are i think the most interesting part of this webtoon #and her trauma isn’t just thrown in there it actually shapes her worldview and every action she takes #i also wonder if her fixiation on blood relation isn’t just her onserving su-ae’s fam but a cultural thing in south korea #i think every webtoon i’ve ever read with an orphan highlights the importance of blood relation #sadly i think the author’s work here is largely underappreciated bc ra-im is a girl if she were a boy though 🥴 #i see time and time again the female characters are treated in comparison to male characters when they are both flawed #like the marang ceo barely gets shit for fucking with su-ae’s life but the pages upon pages ra-im gets for stealing MINU? #u would think minu was the prize
