HI HELLO UH
I've never really done asks before but this question is burning a hole through my skull
is there any way you could provide a list of the characters from COD that are present in your teen!au and their roles? I have many ideas and silly situations in my head that need context >:)
(love your stuff btw, very cute)
From my notes to you! Hopefully this satisfies!
The characters and their roles and backstories
———
Ghost:
Simon R. Price is the adopted son of Price and brother of Kyle. He is sixteen. Simon was taken away from his bio family at the age of eight after his bio father god into some shady business and those people came after his kids and wife. He was a flight risk for every caregiver he was given to, so Laswell had to step up her game and find someone more capable. Price turned out to be the perfect one for the job, the man ending up adopting Simon when he turned thirteen. Price helped Simon get in contact with his brother and mother and helps to make sure they stay in his life. He can’t go back with his mom, it’s too dangerous, and Tommy had found his own family. Simon is able to spend time with his mother and brother on some holidays and every other birthday.
Gaz:
Kyle G. Price is the adopted son of Price and brother of Simon. He is fifteen. Kyle was abandoned when he was nine. It was rough for him, leaving him abandonment and trust issues which ultimately made it hard for him to find a new family. Laswell sent him to stay with Price and Kyle ended up never leaving. He was adopted by Price when he was twelve. Though he butts heads with Simon a lot, it’s out of playfulness. Kyle loves his father and brother very much. He started dating Laswell’s son, Alex, and has been pretty secretive about it. He’s worried about how dating his dad’s boss’ son might affect him, so they keep quiet about their relationship.
Price:
John Price is the adoptive father of Simon and Kyle. He is thirty-seven. Price is ex-military and currently working for CIA’s own Kate Laswell as a ‘free agent’ as Laswell calls him. An issue arose involving an ongoing threat that required Price to care for Simon. he ended up loving him so much that he adopted him. It did complicate Laswell’s work but she didn’t try to stop him. Price had devoted his life to caring for and loving Simon, and when Laswell sent him Kyle to look after he did the same for him. He ended up getting in a strange romantic relationship with one of Laswell’s contacts. This is something both he and Nik keep from Laswell.
Nik:
Nik is the unofficial second father of Simon and Kyle. He is forty-seven. He was stationed to look after Simon while he was being cared for, chasing off anyone that would try to do him harm or take him. He was the one who took Simon to Price. Even after Simon was confirmed safe in Price’s care, Nik never left out of worry for the boy. He ended up getting romantically entangled with Price, both refusing to put a label on their relationship, once they did it becomes all too real and Laswell would not approve. Nik has helped raise Simon and Kyle. He loves them like they’re his own. He often leaves to do work for Laswell, being gone for days at a time. This does not bother him because everything he’s doing is making the world safer for those he loves.
Laswell:
Kate Laswell is the mother of Alex K. Laswell and the wife of Annie Laswell. She is forty-five. Laswell is the boss of Price and has been dealing with a growing threat to the UN. Big or small, she’s on the job. One of these jobs involved placing two at risk boys into a capable caregiver’s care. This ultimately lead to Price adopting his first child, Simon. While it made things more difficult for her by capacitating one of her best men, she did nothing to stop the adoption after seeing how happy they both were. Laswell has a rough history with Nik, seeing they’ve met each other’s guns to the face more than once. Nik has turned a new leaf, but Laswell has a hard time trusting him.
Alex:
Alex K. Laswell is the son of Kate and Annie Laswell. He is seventeen. Alex was first introduced to the Price family after Kyle was adopted. He and Kyle hit it off almost instantly and became inseparable, which lead to them dating. Alex is very nervous about how Kyle’s father would react to him dating his son while Kyle was worried about what his dad would think about him dating his boss’ son, so they both agreed to keep it a secret for now. Simon knows about their relationship and has agreed to keep it a secret, but this is anything but comforting considering how protective Simon is of his brother and how Alex is convinced the guy would kill him if given a reason.
Farah:
Farah Karim is the childhood friend of Simon when he was first taken in by Price. She is eighteen. Farah was close with Simon since he was first taken in by Price. Being neighbors, they often played together and hung out. Though after Kyle was brought into the Price household, Farah had to move away with her family. She kept contact with Simon but did not speak to him as much as she would’ve liked, having been dealing with a less than favorable home life. After Farah turned eighteen, she was kicked out of her parent’s home, sharing the Sam fate as her elder brother. With no where to go, she went to the Shadow Company Shelter, where she was stay until Price took her home to stay with him and his family. She’s determined to make up for lost time with Simon and has become an elder sister to him and Kyle.
Soap:
Johnny MacTavish is Kyle’s best friend and Simon’s crush and inevitably his boyfriend. He is fifteen. Johnny lives across the street from the Price family with his parents and three older sisters. He became friends with Kyle soon after Kyle was sent to school, taking him under his wing and helping him adjust to his new environment. Johnny would develop a crush on Kyle’s older brother, which would blossom into a romantic relationship. Johnny introduced Kyle to his friend Hong-Jin, which would lead to an inseparable trio of friends. Though there is no such evidence, Johnny is thoroughly convinced Simon’s dad’s friend would make him disappear if anything were to happen to Simon.
Horangi:
Hong-Jin Kim is Johnny’s long time best friend. He is fifteen. Being a immigrant, it took time for Hong-Jin to adjust to his new life, thankfully Johnny made things much easier faster they became friends. He was originally jealous and bitter when Johnny started hanging out with Kyle, feeling like he was losing his friend. Then the bitterness and jealousy turned into a crush that Hong-Jin is certain will kill him. He doesn’t want to ruin his friendship with Kyle or Johnny, so he keeps his feelings quiet. He’s happy to be his friend.
Graves:
Phillip Graves is the caretaker of the local runaway shelter for teens and young children. He is forty-two. Phillip is an associate of Laswell, the two having a less than friendly work relationship. While his day job is running a shelter and caring for and protecting children and teens in unfortunate situations, Phillip also does work with Laswell when it’s called for. Many call him an asshole and selfish, but Phillip genuinely cares for the kids under his care. He’s been running the shelter for a goof several years, and quite a few kids who he cared for that had long since become adults now work with him as caretakers themselves. These caretakers, these Shadows, are what keep the kids safe. Phillip is very proud of them.
Alejandro:
Alejandro Vargas is the best friend of Simon and boyfriend of Rudy. He is seventeen. While almost al the kinds in the neighborhood avoided the violent new kid, Simon, Alejandro saw a challenge and ran to meet him. It didn’t take long for him to consider Simon his best friend and included him in everything he did. Simon was there for him when things didn’t end well with Valeria, the girl he was certain was his everything. Simon helped him put his head back on straight, which lead him to asking out Rudy. Now he is certain he’s on the right path, organizing a gang of kids that live on his street to be ‘heroes’. It’s more or less just a very large friend group, but he likes to pretend.
Rudy:
Rudy Parra is Alejandro’s boyfriend and friend of Simon. He is sixteen. Rudy grew up next door to Alejandro and Valeria and was Valeria’s friend before he was Alejandro’s, having gone to the same school as her before they both transferred. He developed a crush on Alejandro but said nothing due to not wanting to become between his friends’ relationship. The two eventually ended things and Rudy’s home life took a turn then after he came out to his parents. The outcome was brutal and Rudy ended up running away, ending up at Shadow Company shelter where he’ll remain until he can get a place of his own. Eventually a relationship sprouted between him and Alejandro, the two officially becoming a couple after Simon’s fifteenth birthday.
Valeria:
Valeria Garza is the ex-girlfriend of Alejandro and the local troublemaker. She is seventeen. Valeria has always been getting into trouble, getting kicked out of the all girl’s school she originally went to, getting into trouble with the law, stealing— She’s always been a bad influence. Yet somehow her best friend has never went down the same path as her. She’s not sure where she would’ve ended up if it wasn’t for Rudy. She started dating Alejandro after her and Rudy started going to his school. It didn’t feel right to her, which is what lead to her finally ending things. Alejandro was upset but it was for the best. Besides, now Rudy cold be with him. She knows Alejandro would never hurt him.
There are more characters in the au but these are the ones with the biggest roles in it. The au of course focuses around Ghost and his new family and friends. The au is wholesome but the world it’s set in is anything but.
Might add more characters later on

Hello!
I heard you wanted some requests? I have one! It's fluff!
How about a sorcerer reader that when they get tired they get very very clingy? Reader may use the partners clothes as comfort if they are not home and or/sleep on their side of the bed.
Let's see, I don't know if you have a character limit so let's go with gojo, choso and someone of your choice!
Thank you very much!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When You’re So, So Tired…
I kept it to Gojo and Choso because I couldn’t decide who to pick. Thanks for the ask! This was fun.
Notes: Gn!reader, lots of cuteness, this is just soft and fluffy, cuddly and clingy reader.
Tumblr media
Gojo
Tumblr media
You might not be as strong as him but you were a force to be reckoned with and worked hard enough for the both of you.
It was uncommon for you to be paired up on missions, as one of the stronger sorcerers you were valuable handling missions and taking students out on your own.
Today didn’t go as planned, Megumi ended up with some bumps and bruises when you were helping Yuuji get the upper hand. You handled the curse easily, exorcising it quick and then all hell broke loose. It was your fault for leaving yourself open; Megumi took the brunt of the attack and protected you.
As soon as it hit him you got a handle on the situation. Your anger fueled your cursed energy (because how dare it hurt one of your students), exorcising the curse that hid from you initially. Yuuji was at Megumi’s side when you turned around again, this time the coast really was clear, and the three of you warped back to the school, immediately headed to Shoko’s office with Megumi.
Apparently you had a deep gash on your cheek- you didn’t even feel it at first; Shoko had to give you a few stitches. It might not scar but only time will tell. It didn’t matter, the kids were ultimately okay and Megumi proved he was a good kid- not that it was in question.
So yeah, the day wasn’t great.
You were exhausted and needed a shower but a quick rinse with a washcloth would have to suffice- couldn’t get your stitches wet for the first few days to your dismay. On top of everything, Gojo would probably want an explanation for Megumi’s minor injuries and you felt so bad, and you were so tired and you really needed a hug and of course Gojo wasn’t home yet; god knows when he’d return.
Everything was just too much to handle after such a long day.
You stole one of Gojo’s shirts that ended at your mid thigh and collapsed into bed, falling asleep with his scent surrounding you. It was as close to a hug as you’d get for now.
Strong fingers were stroking your unblemished cheek when you were awakened. Gojo…
“Hey little shirt thief.” He teased you. “Heard you had a tough mission from Megumi and Yuuji, you okay for the most part? Didn’t break bones or swallow a land mine?”
He was ready for bed and as much as he didn’t want to wake you, he had to make sure you were okay.
Your voice was scratchy, “Hey.” The relief of him being home sent tears down your face, it was a rough day and you needed him.
“Oh sweetheart…” he complied with your grabby hands and slid in bed so he could hold you close and let you cry it out. “Sorry ‘bout gumi- he protected me and I should have been paying better attention.”
Your crying made you a little hard to understand but he was patient. “Don’t be sorry, he’s fine, he’s a big boy. He probably loved having the opportunity to show off and come to your rescue.” He brushed the hair from your face as you let out a small laugh.
“It really was impressive, it was a strong curse and he deflected it successfully to give me some time. I told him I was proud when I apologized and he was trying not to smile and act like it wasn’t a big deal.” You’ve been in Megumi’s life for years, you and Gojo started dating not long after he took him in as a kid. You wouldn’t force yourself into any role, but you considered him family and he seemed to see you the same way.
“See? He’s fine and you praised him, he’s probably bragging a little. You on the other hand ended up with stitches.” He sounded sad towards the end of his sentence.
“‘M fine, just a cut.”
“Mhm you should be careful, I happen to love this face of yours.”
Your hands were already fisted in his shirt and you hid your face in his chest to hide your blush.
“Shut up and go to sleep ‘toru.”
Choso
Tumblr media
You walked in the door dead on your feet.
Your energy was completely depleted, you didn’t even know how you were able to walk.
“That you?” Your boyfriend called out from a different room before he met you in the living room, moving slowly and tempted to face plant on the couch and sleep for a million years.
“Woah hold on. You okay?” He stood in front of you and held your shoulders. The physical touch was enough to push you over the edge of exhaustion and you slumped forward into him. He accepted you easily and lifted you into his arms, your legs wrapping around him by instinct.
Your head rested on his shoulder and you were basically asleep before you got to your bed. The tv was playing whatever Choso had been watching before on a low volume and it only soothed you further like asmr. Choso tried to pull you away and lay you down, but you held on tighter every time he did.
“C’mon, let’s get you changed at least. You know you won’t be comfortable in jeans.”
You groaned but let him help you, too dead on your feet to cooperate much. He was right though, the jeans were uncomfortable and now that you were tucked under the blankets with him holding you close, your mind was quiet and you were out like a light.
Choso laughed quietly out of fondness, returning to watching his show and making sure he didn’t stop rubbing your back as you slept.

i just remembered reading ur pome siblings post and oh my god please if you have the time and motivation, write an angsty version of vils part! its so interesting to explore his potential sibling relationship rgsfbyddnr
absolutely! I feel like a lot of the dorm leaders could have a broken and angsty relationship with their siblings, Vil just was the first one that popped up in my head
warning: Book 5 spoilers
Vil as a sibling (Broken relationship edition)
the Schoenheit family was not an easy family to live in
that became very clear early on in your childhood
your father was a very famous celebrity that did a lot of modeling and acting
and he really wanted you and Vil to do the same
the two of you would be signed up for many roles and auditions in anything
even if you didn't want to, you had to
sometimes you two would be so busy that you didn't have time to just relax and play with other kids
half of the time you and Vil wouldn't get roles in the same thing and you wouldn't even see each other
even just being in the Schoenheit family was enough to get a spotlight on you and your life
you grew up with eyes on you at all times
eyes that criticized every little thing you did
if you tripped, made a slip of the tongue, or even got slightly upset you would be criticized
but you wouldn't only be criticized by the public, but also by your father
he would lecture you on how to act at all times until you got it right
until it became second nature
it was a constant demand for you to be perfect
and you had no choice but to do what they all say
it was either do what they say or be shamed by society and your own family
so you did everything you could to be perfect
to not let the public ever see a single flaw and to be considered beautiful
Vil often helped you with this too by giving you pointers
as you grew up you became very good at it and so did Vil
you two were both well established celebrities by the time you entered Night Raven College
the both of you ended up in Pomefiore together of course
Pomefiore is the dorm that values beauty
you and Vil often talk since you two are in the same dorm
it actually felt nice to talk to Vil about school things instead of new roles or similar things
at first it was fine
you even met his friend Rook, and found out he was a fan of yours and Vil's
but then he started pushing you away and talked to you less
he always said he had important things to do and didn't have time
he couldn't completely ignore you though so there would be times he would still hang out with you
while you may have liked to spend time with your brother, Vil hated it
there he was with the ultimate goal of being the most beautiful
and there you were, not even trying to be the most beautiful, but the other students talked about you being beautiful and perfect and even debated which one of you was more beautiful
the answer should be obvious right?
but now he not only had Neige as rival, but you too
and when you had a new post on magicam or a new role in something, he would check to see who was currently the most beautiful
he absolutely hates when it says your name
it's one thing for it to be someone else but for his own family to be better than him?
especially after he helped you when you were younger
and he gets so angry when he thinks about it
but he never shows that anger
in fact he acts very nice when he is around you
it's when he's alone in the privacy of his room that he'll let the anger show on his face
for just a single second, the thought of poisoning you crosses his mind
the Evil Queen did that, and she's his role model after all
but he would have a moment of rationality after that
he couldn't do that. you were his sibling
but you were also competition
so maybe he couldn't poison you, but he could do something else
when Vil did hang out with you, he would always point out some small thing about you that was out of place
even if you had everything together, he would find something to criticize
afterwards he would always make a comment about how you should be careful because your actions reflect on him and your father
sometimes he would even give you a backhanded compliment or when he was especially angry, he would straight up insult you and claim he's trying to help you
everything he says slowly chips away at your confidence
and it hurts even more to come from your own brother, someone who helped you become who you are
once upon a time he was someone you could look up to
if you started slipping up more in public, he would be happy
unless...somehow people enjoyed that because it was cute or a reminder that you're human
at that point he's furious and it's getting harder to hide
Rook started noticing too
sometimes you could be hanging out with Vil and Rook will come along and tell you someone else wants to talk with you
he basically separates you two in hopes Vil will calm down
through this repeating process, the distance between you and Vil grows greater by the day
an unspoken hatred and sense of competition is hard to miss
and the one person who you're supposed to be able to rely on at NRC, absolutely hates you
Somewhat happy ending:
after Vil overblots, he has time to reflect on his actions the past few months
he does realize that the way he treated you was rather ugly
and he will personally apologize to you
he'd be lying if he said that people claiming you were more beautiful didn't bother him anymore
it still does, but it doesn't make him as angry
he tries to spend time with you to actually genuinely spend time with you instead of tearing you down
it can be a bit...strange at first
but give him time and he will start to come around more
he's really trying to be nicer to you and try to fix what he's done
but is it too late? has too much damage been done? is it even possible to fix it?
the choice is up to you
will you forgive him?

heyheyhey what if some villain or something uses an ability to show a physical manifestation of how the heroes see their powers (maybe they want the world to see them as selfish/vain?) and captain marvels just covered in chains tying him down
I LIIIIVE!!! so sorry for being late to answering this, hun <3
First of all, I am going wild and feral with that image of Captain Marvel seeing himself that way! The immense burden and responsibility alone in carrying the powers of several gods and ancients is astonishing, beyond the normal human mind, but nowhere near the level of being the Champion of Magic. Imagine that. Being a child who has no one to depend on, and then suddenly becoming a figure of such intense magical power that millions depend on you saving them. Billy never wanted to become a superhero, he never intended to be one, but someone made that decision for him and he can't escape his fate.
Not that it's a bad thing, Billy is more than happy to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it's as himself or as Captain Marvel. He isn't pure of heart for nothing, after all.
Old lady crossing the street? Billy will be there to help. Dr. Sivana stealing from the museum? Captain Marvel is on his way to put an end things. Someone is in a burning building and needs help getting out? Either of them wouldn't hesitate to run in.
It's when he fails to save someone that it sticks to his mind and poisons him with nightmares and guilt. Billy has canonically mentioned before that when he fails to save people, they haunt his nightmares and he looses sleep over thinking about what he could have done differently or better to save them. Sometimes he thinks he shouldn't have been chosen to be Captain Marvel, and that his powers would have been better suited to someone else, anyone else besides himself. Billy is a kid for crying out loud, and yet he's filled with so much survivors guilt, imposter syndrome, PTSD, and more.
The responsibility and power of being a superhero, Champion of Magic, and guardian of the Rock of Eternity all weigh heavy on his small shoulders. Let's not forget Billy's personal life either; a homeless orphan living day to day, working tirelessly to survive and hide away from people who wish to hurt him. It's a miracle this kid hasn't burned out yet. He has too many responsibilities to care about!
Billy is fortunate enough that when he transforms into Captain Marvel, he can forget about his anxiety and worries for a while thanks to his powers giving him a healthy mindset to think with. However, deep beneath the surface, the vessel for the Champion of Magic is just a scared little lost child, crying for his mom and dad, never voicing his concerns or woes to people as to not burden them.
This is why I love your idea of the physical manifestation of how Captain Marvel sees his powers being chains. He feels trapped by his roles in life and doesn't think he can escape them. He doesn't even know if he is allowed to want these burdens and chains gone from him. The chains may seem to tie him down but he is ultimately the one with the key to put an end to it, to never say the magic word again and live a semi normal life. But that's just not the person Billy Batson is. Billy Batson will always do his best to try and save people, no matter what he has to sacrifice of himself in the end.
Maybe the chains seem to be on him unwillingly, but are actually there to represent how he is forcing himself to be a hero to the world.

Origins
Imagine an AU where Althea is reborn as Silver's twin sister (biologically) after Alcestris dies as a nearly sick twist of fate (being reborn as the child of your enemy). She too put under the sleeping spell by the fairies, slumbering away along with her brother for 200 years and waiting for someone to love them until the retired General comes by the thorn infested and abandoned castle. Lilia's presence immediately awakens the twin babies from their 'blessing' because there is finally someone who can love them unconditionally after their parents perished in war. He gives his blessing to them, naming them Silver and Althea. Silver's blond hair changes to silver but Thea's hair remains the same ashy blonde..instead it's her right eye that changes. From the soft hazel brown that her left eye is like it becomes a fiery crimson red which hits Lilia too close to home. She looks just like the young half-fae that was so brutally murdered by the humans..but this child is not to blame and neither is Silver.
He raises them in the little cottage near the Zigvolt residence and often visited by Malleus, the twins both wanting to be knights along with little Sebek and so Lilia trains all three of them. Even though the little girl wants to wield a sword as well, she's always playing the role of the princess that the two boys need to save. Silver has the ability to attract small woodland creatures or even one as big as a bear, Althea on the other hand was gifted with a voice so heavenly some might even say it can do wonders.
The envelope of invitation from Night Raven arrives to Silver, meaning he can enroll into the college but Thea is upset about her brother leaving, refusing to accept being left alone in the cottage or in the care of the Zigvolt family so Lilia somehow manages to convince Crowley to let her enroll as well (because he is so kind as we know). Sorted into Diasomnia just like her father, twin brother, older brother figure and later her childhood friend (and crush(?)) .
Despite Silver having a sleeping curse that makes him doze off randomly throughout the day, Thea has the opposite. She's very much an insomniac, having trouble falling asleep even at night. Lilia also couldn't find a cure to this just he couldn't to Silver's condition.
Ashe (Yuu) shows up in the Opening Ceremony of their second year in NRC as the magicless human from another world. Thea quickly befriends the little outsider, making them best friends and her also helping them battle the Overblot incidents. But as time passes she begins to dream about a strange girl in green armor that looks very similar to herself and a man with long blond hair and silver armor. She can't put her finger on who either of them are but she feels that she's supposed to know.
Then inevitably come the time when Lilia announces he will be dropping out of college and move to a far away country because he's losing his magic, ultimately leaving his kids behind which leaves both Silver and Thea upset. This leads to Malleus's Overblot and the nightmare begins (get it?), him putting everyone on the island to sleep. Silver uses his Signature Spell to travel into Lilia's dream along with Sebek, Ashe, Grim and Thea. There they will unravel all the secrets and truth that has been kept hidden from them by the elders.
Silver and Thea discover their true origins, finding out their real parents being the enemy of the faes and thus General Lilia and Thea recognizes Knight of Dawn as the man who always showed up in her dreams. Thea however is hit with a bonus set of bricks. Discovering that she had a past life..as the half-fae girl that she also used to dream about. She finds out what happened to her and the truth is as painful as it gets. Alcestris was murdered by the Men of Steel, more specifically King Hendrick who is non-other than her and Silver's uncle. And she right now is the reincarnation of that unfortunate half-fae soldier, reborn as the child of the enemy who are the reason of her death in the first place. She's just as distraught as Silver is about their origins but Sebek and Ashe are there to pull both of them out of the darkest pit of their life. Life moves on and they're not to blame for the actions of their ancestors, they're still worthy of love..

Unhinged Sybelle and Benji tangent (cw references to abuse csa trauma etc)
yeah so Marius’s turning of Benji and Sybelle isn’t about whether or not that was the right decision to make and isn’t made better by their contentment living as vampires in late canon. Benji and Sybelle’s relatively happy lives as vampires are irrelevant to me. The cruelty of how he did it is made worse by the hypocritical nature of turning a kid into a vampire after so firmly insisting that turning children is morally abhorrent and smth he should’ve never done, yeah, but that’s only a small part of it.
It was so awful and upsetting to me bcus of the deliberate stripping of Armand’s agency. See, we have a whole book where Armand tells the story of how throughout his entire life and childhood he was forced into the role of submissiveness and/or dependency. whether that be his childhood religious devotion that would eventually lead to his being buried alive for God or being sold into sexual slavery or Marius’s mentorship of him that ultimately intended to teach him to stay loyal and dependent on Marius’s authority to Marius’s relationship with him sexual and otherwise to the cult indoctrination, up until Lestat comes along and tilts his own view of submission and devotion as his only way to survive and function in the world onto its head.
He gives him a theater and then he gives him Louis. Armand floats around, tries to find purpose without devotion through using Louis and Daniel as tools to understanding the modern age. The modern age to Armand is possibility and independence, things he’s never had so much access to and doesn’t know exactly how to apply to himself until the devils minion chapter when he’s like ah ok I get it, life without devotion is something I’ve always been familiar with—it’s what Marius taught me! I Am The Master now with my excessive indulgence and my Boy and my sea side paradise.
But Armand is a Void™️ with no concept of self besides a collection of concepts and experiences and people he’s been exposed to throughout his existence, so rlly he’s kind of a fraud. Internally he’s still a saint who yearns for a God to follow, he’s no Marius, and this all comes to a head in Memnoch the devil when he throws himself into the sun for Jesus etc. and so TVA Armand is mixed the fuck up, he’s lost everything he’s been building for himself, he’s like an open wound, like red and gold sand art shaken around until it’s sludges of brown.
Armand believes himself to have no coherent narrative of a life, no coherent and consistent sense of self, just a collection of unrelated sequences that he draws from to occasionally preform personhood, and at the beginning of TVA he is very much just that. No thoughts only colors and pain. But he’s trying to rebuild himself as best he can, he has these young humans who he’s caring for, and through caring Armand finds meaning.
These humans are very much reflections of himself, or who he used to be, and seeing a personhood reflected back at him through these two gives him insight into his own value as an individual, as someone who is inherently worthy of having a life. So with Benji and Sybelle he tries to rebuild his own sense of personhood by giving them what he would want in there place. The conclusion he reaches at the end of his story to David is that after everything ultimately he is learning and rebuilding, gaining fulfillment and individuality he’s never had before through his empathy and care for these two people in his life. Benji and Sybelle are representative of Armand’s healing process!!! They mirror him bcus they are him!! He’s literally nurturing his inner child!! And with that there comes self care and self love etc etc. but then the book doesn’t end!!
Then after all that trauma and all that healing everything that Armand was tenderly attempting to build for his new life is stripped away ! When Marius turns Benji and Sybelle it doesn’t matttttter that they like being vampires. What matters is that when Armand finally gained agency and individuality Marius decided to take that from him! Marius decided that he actually knew better then Armand, and if Armand would just allow him to do what’s best for him then everything would be so much better and so much easier. And when Armand starts sobbing and screaming and fighting him that’s just justification to Marius that Armand isn’t capable of independence or self sufficiency, that he’s a child throwing a tantrum who can’t make his own decisions, that he should just be dependent on Marius like he used to be and trust that other people know what’s best for him.
That’s why it’s so tragic! That’s why it’s so frustrating and so sad. Armand was on the road to healing but then Marius stormed in like the symbolic representation of his past telling him that no matter what he does or the progress he makes he’s still Armand in the catacombs, Amadeo on the red sheets, Andrei waiting to be buried alive. So I don’t really give af if ultimately Benji and Sybelle are fine! It’s great that despite being a child vampire Benji is able to function independently and contently as an adult with minimal body dysmorphia and existential dread, but you know who’s not able to do that? Armand 😭😭

I had this thought about how Blades MC can be openly affectionate. like sure, even if you don't go down the "flirt w everyone" option, they are still warm and nurturing even to strangers. even to valax, who's a sworn enemy and maybe it has something to do with riverbend.
riverbend falls into the category of "every fantasy town ever" because it has quirky lil traditions, hero ceremonies and is the village in the proverb 'it takes a village to raise a kid'. i also suspect they'd have these fun pride-and-prejudice-esque balls and dance scenes where it is customary to kiss a person on their cheek and be just visibly affectionate, give them hugs and that stuck with mc and kade as they grew up.
and it also explains the kind of role they play in their friend groups and bringing about change. kade becomes an archivist, purely due to the interest making up stories has given him. telling stories in a pub in riverbend nurtured that interest that he's just more than a "sick, weak kid" and how the small pub audience who were just so keen on listening to him, as they danced, sang till dawn helped build that career he longed for.
and mc too. their openness and affection might just save morella. it did, the first time but in small ways. mc helped imtura gain closure in her relationship with her mother, being empathetic. mc helped nia battle with her own beliefs through kindness. mc gave so much back - especially in the scene where they chase down the kid to the orphanage where they were treated horribly, it helped mal put his coin into an orphanage business and bring life into his dormant realisation. mc helped tyril break through to kaya, help him rebuild the relationship w his family and enforce a conversation, even though it wasn't their business.
and what happened? they became great fighters against the shadow court. they were strong and secure on their emotional side. imtura never had to depend on her mother anymore or worry about what she had to say. tyril is secure enough to leave his house's future in adrina's hands. mal knows that if he ever comes back, he's going to open up that orphanage - make sure no kid has to go through what he did. nia harnessed her power of Light to do good - to do serious good and be encouraged to unlearn what the temple of light had brainwashed her with and to avenge the death of her mentor's.
and now it's with aerin and valax. aerin is still wrestling with a second chance, escaping and evading because he thinks he isn't deserving and mc gives him all the time to recoup. valax has never experienced actual human emotion, which makes her feel different and ostracized (i highly suggest you read @normal-thoughts-official's post about valax and her mother) and it makes her want to learn why mc is the way they are and mc understands; mc gives them a chance to experience it - offering an alliance where they can both get what they need without having to run and chase after each other.
mc might have a dozen million skills - archery, sword fighting, alchemy but it is ultimately their kindness that triumphs and ultimately, riverbend's kindness upon them that reinforces this and i think PB should acknowledge this instead of treating their "kindness" as something vulnerable and have characters dish on it every five fucking seconds.

Requests are open according to ask box??? Wonderful, an idea hit me earlier while I was at work. Remember the pokevillian sibling meeting the twins post? What about big brother Cyrus meeting N and/or Guzma?
Me thinks Cyrus would approve of his little sibling dating N. The only hang up is Cyrus would probably worry about N's connection to Team Plasma and how that might affect his lil sib (not that Cyrus can say much). Also, Cyrus would probably be awed/confused by how N could have spent so much of his life angry at world (much like Cyrus has), but managed to remain spirited in a gentle and outwardly kind way. I wonder if Cyrus would tell N about the Rotom he used to be friends with.
That said, Cyrus probably wouldn't like Guzma (at first, it could get better but I don't think they'd be close), as loud, vulgar and destructive as he is. And again, big bro Cyrus would be concerned over his lil sib being with a villian. But Cyrus would learn that Guzma has a similar past to him and his little sib i.e. shitty parents and feeling unloved and inadequet, furthermore, he'd learn Team Skull is just a bunch of kids who have no one else trying to get by. Then Cyrus would respect Guz enough to give his blessing, but their would probably still be some shovel talk.
High Five Anon, off anon
djsjdjs got to really give Cyrus an unwanted friend in Colress
cw: older brother Cyrus,
🌿N👑
🟢 Cyrus was not sure how he felt as you spoke about this boyfriend you had met overseas in Unova. Mostly as you had vanished there during his… Certain period with a certain legendary. He understood your reasons as to why. It would be difficult handling the baggage he left you with. It was not that he cared too much as to whom you decided to take up as a partner, so long as there was no abuse of any kind going on in the relationship.
🟢 His visit with you after narrowly escaping custody, thanks to Cynthia believing he deserved a second chance and had learnt from his failed attempt to create his perfect world. Unova held a different air than Sinnoh, he immediately noticed. Busy, modern, towering. Much like Jubilife. You eagerly rushed off the boat in the port to a green-haired man, who stood kneeling and petting a small feline pokemon.
🟢 This must be him. N. Cyrus first wondered what sort of name that was, but it seemed to be apt for how he appeared. Long, wily hair and a strange feeling. Cyrus recalled his face from an article he had read on his trip over. His brow line narrowed. “King of Team Plasma…” the article had unmistakably called him. An organisation so similar yet different from his own, Team Plasma. They were acting as pokemon advocacy group but in actuality had dark intentions. He swallowed.
🟢 N smiled at him with gentle innocence that screamed ignorance of the real world. He froze. You already had yourself nuzzled against his side with a pleased expression. How did he handle this? It felt strange. Nothing malicious or cruel seemed to ruminate from the man. It felt odd for someone in charge of a team that seemed to forcibly separate pokemon and people.
🟢 After he bluntly demanded an explanation, you told him about how N had a rough upbringing, having been left to fend for himself among pokemon in the forest until Ghetsis took him in and raised him to take on the role in his plans for world domination. Cyrus felt a bit taken aback by such a situation, but ultimately understood that N never really had such intentions as he had. The green-haired man looked a bit uncomfortable with the discussion. Cyrus was polite enough to drop it for now, at least until he had a moment alone with you.
🟢 Cyrus finds himself unable to worry about your relationship with N, as he can that he has no bad intents. He only wants to help abused pokemon and find a place for himself in this world. Cyrus almost envies his ability to search in such a manner. There are worries about his connection to Team Plasma and whether or not they may attempt to attack you due to your relationship with him, but he ultimately decides to trust in your ability to handle yourself. Of course, if they did try anything, Cyrus would pull some of his connections to help you.
🟢 Ultimately, he accepts your relationship with N and gives him his mark of approval with a polite handshake. N proceeds to tell him that his Weavile missed him while he was gone, which makes everything more confusing. Cyrus is back to being unsure about this green man, but now wants to about his odd ability. (They have a long talk, and you begin to worry Cyrus is stealing your boyfriend. N manages to drag out how much Cyrus secretly cares for his pokemon, despite how he tries to play apathetic.)
💀Guzma🕶
□ Cyrus had flown out to Alola after his return from the Distortion World and subsequent readjustment and questioning. It felt strange to leave such an oddly dark world and head to somewhere sunny. In fact, the brightness of it all brought on distant feelings in his mind to youthful days in Sunnyshore. He truly did not care for the boyfriend you mentioned, more interested in seeing you in person after so long.
□ The island itself had a feel not that different from his business trips to Johto. He felt curious as he stood around near the restaurant you mentioned to him. A few locals wanted him about some troubled youths that were known for snatching pokemon. He moved to intercept the road when he noticed your approach with a troublesome looking guy.
□ Guzma, he recalled the name you had told him over the phone. Apparently, you met him when you got out of Sinnoh after he… did what he had done. He was someone you instantly connected to, you had claimed. Something about him harkened his mind back to the troubled youths. Bleached white hair with darkened streaks were obvious in his hair, and something about him just screamed problematic. He obviously was a bit stunned at the sight of Cyrus, too.
□ “Hey, man, nice to meet ya',” he held his hand out to Cyrus, but the twenty-seven year old hesitated to take it. The shot a look at him, and he finally moved to shake his hand. He finally questioned the strange amulet that he was wearing, which caused Guzma to chuckle. “Nothing you need to worry about, old man,” he told him. You could obviously tell there was a rising intensity between the two.
□ Cyrus immediately requested to speak with you alone, which you granted. There was little surprise to you when he demanded to know what was up with Guzma. You tried to explain that he may or may not have a group of troubled teens and young adults that hung out in an abandoned town. This, naturally, caused Cyrus to worry about your safety. Team Galactic was orangised and neat, not whatever Team Skull could be considered. Even after explaining their shared experiences of distinct and somewhat cruel parents, Cyrus could only internally panic. This was his fault for committing his actions.
□ The blue-haired man glared at your boyfriend, slightly taller by height and better posture. A heavy intensity ruminated the area. You stood off to the side, watching. It was obvious your organised and “logical” brother would take issue with someone as messy and chaotic as Guzma. The reverse could be established from the Team Skull Boss. Before an intense battle erupted, Cyrus stopped himself and stood stiffly. Team Skull members had rushed over to try to help defend Guzma. The emotionless man noted that they really were just teenagers. An odd thought entered his mind, too. Something about how his admins stood by his side despite everything.
□ In the end, he backs down and accepts your relationship. He had already decided long ago he did not care who you were with as long as they did not seem malicious or dangerous. Guzma just seemed dumb and smug. Annoying, yes, but putting you at risk, he was not. He instead left the bug-type enthusiast with a threat about not involving you in anything harmful. Maybe, one day, you could get them to sit down and speak about their shared traumas, but for now, they would only tear at each other's throats.

life for two
pairings: platonic pete "maverick" mitchell x kazansky!reader, bradley "rooster" bradshaw x kazansky!reader
word count: ~0.6k
warnings: pregnancy, allusions to grief, top gun: maverick spoilers, allusions to anxiety and ptsd
a/n: there is an incredibly detailed collection by @ofstoriesandstardust revolving around a mitchell!reader x rooster where her godfather is iceman, but i have been pondering the idea of if the roles were reversed for a hot minute. i VERY highly recommend reading through the same mistakes-verse if you are a tg:m fan as this collection does an incredible job of expanding upon the characters we love so much from a different perspective. but this is my little self-indulgent spin on things.
song inspo: life for two by brandon jenner
A light knock broke Maverick’s focus on the reports scattered across his desk. The captain peered up to spot his intruder, eyes softening at the figure standing timidly in the doorway.
“Frost,” Maverick chimed. Her presence was always a welcome one, to be sure, but her demeanor was worrying to him. Ice’s daughter had always stood with as much pride as her father did in his earliest days at Top Gun. There was something off about her now, with her shoulders slumped and her fingers fiddling at her sides. Rather than a grown woman, Maverick thought he was looking at a frightened child.
“Uncle Mav,” she tried, voice already shaking. What had happened? How had his goddaughter been reduced to such an open state of fragility? Not even on her father’s funeral day did she let her resilience go. Maverick crossed the room in quick strides before tugging her inside and shutting the door behind them both.
He let her get settled on the small couch before sitting beside her. Maverick’s eyes didn’t budge from their fixation on her worrying expression. Frostbite couldn’t quite meet his gaze. Her hands continued to fidget frantically, wringing back and forth in an attempt to steady herself. Still, not a drop of her nerves relented.
Maverick tried calling out her name. He was now getting scared. Ice reacted similarly when telling him his cancer had come back. Was similar glum news awaiting him at the end of this conversation? “What’s going on, kid? Talk to me.”
At last, Frostbite looked up at her godfather. Tears were beginning to break along her lashline. It sent a cold shock through Maverick. But before he could press further, she spoke. “I’m pregnant.”
Oh. Oh. The news itself wasn’t entirely jarring. His goddaughter and godson had been together for quite some time, happy as can be. What was jarring was the fear that seemed to freeze one of the most fearless people he’d ever seen.
Maverick offered a soft smile in response. “Frost, that’s great. You’ve wanted kiddos for you and Bradley since you were kiddos.” He gently clapped a hand on her shoulder, feeling the muscle tense beneath his touch almost instantly.
“What if he doesn’t want it?” Every word came out shaking. “What if he does, but another deployment comes up? What if he never makes it home?” Some of the tears Frost had been holding back slipped down her paling cheeks. Doubts and worst-case scenarios had been running marathons in her mind ever since that little plastic stick showed two dark lines. Giving voice to these ideas was only making them seem that much more plausible.
Frostbite did not give Pete the time to counter before she went on, her next words chilling him to the bone. “He should be here.”
Maverick knew she did not mean Bradley. Sure, Sarah was still ever-present and well in their lives even in the face of ultimate grief. But what little girl imagined going through a pregnancy without her father there? Walking down the aisle at her wedding without his arm linked through hers? Raising his grandchild who would never know his warm embrace?
A sob brought him back to the moment. Frostbite was bent forward, hands pressed against her head as her body shook with every cry struggling to surface. It broke his heart to see her, even now, trying to hold some composure.
“Come here,” he beckoned. Maverick softly tugged her to lean against his side, arms wrapping around her trembling form. Frost tucked her face against his jacket as she finally let go of all she had been holding back: all of the sadness, anger, denial, and resentment that came with grief.
Pete held her close, letting some tears of his own fall as the pair grieved for the man who tied them together.
-
i might write a part 2 where frostbite actually tells bradley that she is pregnant but this is all my mind will let me get away with for now. i hope someone enjoys >.<

Something that’s important to me is that, effectively, Rayla is a nobody.
While Callum is the only character not necessarily tied to the Plot by birth - it’s more accident, happenstance, and reaffirms him feeling out of place / being ‘ordinary’ in comparison to Ez (crown prince) and Rayla (a prodigy) who both inherit very specific parental baggage (be king; be an assassin or dragonguard) - Callum soon finds something that arguably makes him the most unique/special because of the broader implications of it. If he can connect to a primal source, then other humans can too, and that makes the ramifications of his existence massively important (arguably the most important in some ways). Then as of S4, he does hold position at court (high mage) and is also crown prince on top of that.
Meanwhile, Ezran is subversive for getting the classical prince to king ascension arc as a Black-Asian kid, and growing into a role that’s both passed down to him and one he fully chooses and finds worthwhile, if also overwhelming because of his youth. Ezran, unlike Callum, was also the known son and original target, so his life and death hinging on the concept of what true Justice is is also super loaded.
And then you have Rayla, who inherits the same parental baggage as Ezran... but eventually tosses it away, rather than acclimate it. She is, from her very first scene, defined as a failed/bad assassin. She’s a dragonguard, and then leaves that behind too. Her parents were ultimately servants of the draconic royal family, not rulers themselves, and they died in that line of service (as far as she knew, anyway). Her village has disowned her. If she died, only a small handful of people would care, and even less would know; that’s a far cry from the kingdom wide funeral processions we know the boys would holster, and Ezran’s council and their remaining friends and family who care deeply about both of them.
And I think it’s this lack of connection that it makes it so easy for Rayla to risk herself. “I’m not an assassin, or a hero,” she says in Bloodmoon Huntress. “I’m no one. I couldn’t even stop my own parents from leaving.” (Which is a nice parallel to Callum’s “I’m no one” from 1x03 before being called a mage, and a reflective parallel of how Rayla may feel in S4 onwards as she figures out who she’s going to be now.) And again, just... the person who feels like no one, the person who’s sure that they matter less, mattering more in the end to their loved ones than anyone is just... so sweet to me. She deserves it

@for-got
This is the gist of my Quaritch theory as well, mostly because it's pretty realistic, but also because, I don't know, it's soft and mushy and will make me cry.
I imagine him going insubordinate for Spider, refusing too many orders, going behind the General's back one too many times; he loses their trust, does it knowingly, all for his kid.
Because he's tired. Tired of playing the role of a dead man, tired of reliving memories that don't feel like his, tired of sticking to the same path that got him killed. He's tired of hearing screams, he's tired of smelling ash and char, he's tired of scrubbing his hands of the blood that will forever coat them.
Most of all, he's tired of seeing his son's disappointed son's face staring back at him with contempt and disgust. He's tired of having to pick between his living, breathing son, and a cold, violent mission.
The second he leaves (with Cupcake, of course, he ain't leaving his girl behind to those sky people), he looks for his son. He doesn't really have a plan, Spider may run from him again (and he wouldn't chase him. He respects his son too much to force himself on the poor thing), Neytiri and Jake may try and kill him (and this time he might just let it happen), and even if by some grace of God (Eywa?) none of that happens, where does that leave him.
he's a colonizer, a genocider, he is drowning in innocent blood, even if it was his original self that did most of the damage, he still followed his path. he can't fix that, can't change what happened, he couldn't dare expect any Na'vi to put up with him, to pretend like his face doesn't haunt their nightmares.
in all honesty, he'd just be happy to see his boy one more time, to hold him and see him smile one last time, to know that he is safe and loved. he could give up then. spiders the only thing he has, and if the boys safe, then that's ok.
I imagine him becoming sort of a recluse, living alone with Cupcake somewhere in the woods, somewhere spider can come visit him. I feel like Jake would have some (small) sympathy, and Neytiri (who can be reasonable, I hate that people fail to see that. emotion and logic are two different things, she struggles with the later, and I hate to even call it a struggle) understands the pain of his current existence, stuck between, living a lie, playing a role; she can forgive him and not want him around all the same.
I think Quaritch will become a fragile ally in a later movie, but I know for a fact he's gonna fight to have week ends with his boy. he did all this for spider, and he'll be damned if he doesn't get a little time with him.
and spider feels so conflicted. he saved him because he saw the good in him, he stuck with him and loved him because Quaritch loved him back, because he didn't treat him like a pet. but he knows his family aches at the mere thought of Quaritch, that he is once again torn between 2 lives, even if one (Quaritch) is significantly better (spiders place in the family runs deep; he's not only adopted, but adopted out of pity and burden, he's different and can barely function in their world, and he's human. no matter what changes happen to the sully family, he will never fit in, he will never be an equal to them) he's still so loyal, especially to the one he's been with longer. He clings to his father, he still loves him, but he fears that he'll trade 1 person for his whole family. he's scared he'll lose everything.
he's like the ultimate child of divorce. it's like an eternal case of 'who do you wanna satay with for the holidays' except the holidays is just life, but it's the dread of picking one over the other, knowing it's a trick question. pick one and your shamed for ditching, pick the other and your guilted for leaving the other out and missing time with them. this is all happening when spider and Quaritch just want time to nap in the son and bind like father and son, while the Sully's make spiders life hell (they don't mean it, but spider dynamic with them is not, and most likely, will never be healthy).
they're gonna need a family therapist next movie, they already did, but I have a feeling it's gonna be a lot worse come the inevitable Quaritch redemption.

OKAY. slightly more comprehensive and hopefully more useful tips for writing qmariana because the other post i made was kinda a mess. this one also is but hopefully less so. this is basically me expounding upon everything i already said + adding info from a lot of the tags i got on the original post pointing out stuff i didn’t mention
also going to mention again that a lot of this IS related to slimeriana because that’s the main flavour of qsmp fics i read BUT they should all work as general pointers. slimeriana are just gonna end up as my go-to examples for what i’m talking about. and second disclaimer that i barely speak even basic spanish so there are probs gonna be even more things i may have missed or messed up, i’m forging through with the power of youtube auto translate
all that said, here:
he’s not great at speaking english —
it is okay to write a character not being good at speaking a language! i don’t know why everyone seems to be fine with writing charlie speaking broken spanish but not the other way around. so many times i’ve seen him written as speaking perfect english and then just sometimes swearing or having a few lines of dialogue in spanish, if even that. that is simply just not how he talks
common things i personally have noticed mariana does: repeats words, says words that sound similar to the one he wants but not Quite [think words that rhyme or have a similar sound to them, like nipples and pimples lol], he’ll often get frustrated and switch back to spanish and just rely on the translator, especially for longer or more complex sentences/statements, there’ll sometimes be pauses between words or he talks slowly. he tries his best to speak english around the english speaking server members but again, will also just speak spanish and use the translator if he’s gonna be talking a lot
other small things: he swears quite a bit, and has a few favourites [namely mamahuevo (eng equivalent is cocksucker) is the one that comes to mind. and i don’t feel like i’m writing this out correctly but also chinga tu madre (fuck you/fuck your mother? i think?). in english the first one that comes to mind is motherfucker]. also calls kids mami/papi a lot, not even just juanaflippa
he’s almost always written as either too nice OR too mean —
he’s not a one-dimensional piece of paper just there to either dote on slime or make his life hell. he jokes and teases and he has a bit of a harsh sense of humour sometimes, but he’s very rarely malicious in his actions. if he’s really in the wrong about something he’ll get defensive, but will eventually end up apologising
that said, again, he’s not always nice! he gives as good as he gets when slime picks fights with him, he and bobby had a very playfully antagonistic relationship as far as i could tell. it’s like picking playful fights is part of his love language
he was always very sweet to juanaflippa though :D except a few teasing jokes here and there. he was a good dad, besides the murder JHVSJD
speaking of his sense of humour —
it can be very… blunt? for lack of a better word? he says some bizarre shit with a completely straight face. best example i can think of is him suggesting he and charlie could play a porn game together because they wouldn’t have to talk. obviously that’s cc not character, but it carries over. or, alternatively, the circumcision bit on day 1. basically if u watch charlie more, look at his sense of humour and translate it into spanish — there’s a reason they get along so well :D zero normal people in this relationship. the most you’ll get is them occasionally passing the “straight man” role back and forth, getting bewildered at each other but ultimately going along with whatever the bit is
he’s not a cheater! —
i know. i know ppl like the angst. but he never actually cheated on slime, not beyond being kinda flirty with other men but then pulling back and saying he was married whenever they returned that energy. he’s a bitch, but a loyal one /silly
but seriously, qmariana loves his family so much. he always wanted things to work out between him and slime. the only mc skin of his that actually shows his hands has him wearing his wedding ring, for christs sake. he’s not an absentee father, and he’s not a cheater, he just likes to joke flirt with his friends
he’s very open about his emotions! —
i have never once known this man to hide his feelings or be stoic in any situation. if he’s sad he cries, if he’s angry or frustrated he yells and swears, if he’s happy he laughs. if you are writing mariana as a person to keep his feelings hidden you are Doing It Wrong. the most he might do is hide one emotion behind another, but he’s almost always showing something
he LOVES music —
this man will sing at any given opportunity. he quotes song lyrics out of nowhere constantly. english, spanish, doesn’t matter, he loves music. it is literally always worth it to have him singing a lullaby to juanaflippa in a fic because it is both very in character and very cute

another headcanon post. i thought i'd put down my thoughts about what la squadra are like with kids, i like making headcanons about that sort of small thing.
headcanons under cut.
Gelato Gelato thinks kids are a delight, and is always happy to interact with them. He's very good at keeping them entertained and knows how to behave around them. He'd like to raise a child with Sorbet, but he worries about messing it up and letting them be raised by a man like himself who kills for the mafia.
Sorbet Although less cheerful than his husband, Sorbet is incredibly patient with kids and aware of their emotions. He tends to keep them at an arm's length but won't ignore them if they really need his help. He harbours the same doubts as Gelato about raising a child of their own.
Risotto Risotto is patient and gentle with kids. He has a bit of a soft spot for them. He tends to try to make himself less imposing when interacting with children to avoid frightening them, and will let them touch his hat. He looks out for them where he can, and overall is very kind to them despite his grim looks.
Formaggio Formaggio thinks kids are great, he's reminded of himself when he young and hadn't yet gone down the dark path that led him to Passione. He'll happily entertain them, and does his best to rein himself in (though a swear or a dark joke might slip out if he's under pressure).
Illuso Illuso is indifferent to kids. He won't go out of his way to be rude to them, but they can get on his nerves if they're persistent. He doesn't mind interacting with them if it's on his own terms, and can be pretty good at looking out for them. However, he will encourage bad behaviour if he thinks it's fair. He's not a great role model.
Prosciutto Prosciutto has difficulty understanding kids. He had to grow up too fast in a household that treated him coldly, so he has trouble relating them back to his own experiences. He doesn't hate them nor want to make them upset, but can be a bit cold and doesn't hold much affection for them.
Pesci Pesci is great with kids and enjoys interacting with them. Similarly to Formaggio, he's reminded of what it was like to be a kid before his life took a dark turn. He likes playing with them and is very intuitive and understanding if they're upset. He helps Prosciutto understand them better.
Melone Melone will be nice to kids when the situation calls for it. He actually has more respect for them than he does for most adults, feeling that they're more accepting and good by nature. He doesn't talk down to them and will teach them what he can if he feels the need. Though ultimately, he still fails to connect with them and doesn't feel for them, as is the case with most strangers he interacts with.
Ghiaccio Despite not really understanding them and finding their unpredictability a bit annoying, Ghiaccio never gets angry at kids. He has a completely different demeanour when interacting with them and keeps a close eye on how he acts around them. He doesn't want to be like his own parents who didn't treat him well.

ahaha i just watched MoM :)
here are my fresh thoughts on it
visually, the film is stunning. the thing about doctor strange films is that the film production is absolutely allowed to go ham with the cinematography. mystical shit, bitch, absolutely weird. it was why the first was my favorite, and why i anticipated this one (probably not as much as i did for nwh, but what can i say lmao spiderman funny i am tired college freshman epic !!!)
like some of my favorite shots or scenes were definitely homages to horror films. the reflection/mirror dimension parts going for the ring, and the tunnel chase scene being what i think is an homage to the shining (?). a lot of those are scattered throughout MoM, and i thought those were really cool. thank u mr raimi
however
plot-wise? not good.
uhhh
lemme just narrow it down to some points,
wherein the screenwriters, evidently,:
did NOT pick up on the nuances of stephen and christine's pre-canon lovers-to-friends arc in his first film
surely, only solely watched the what if? series to put in the concept of strange feeling more romantic love than he actually did in the mcu (to be fair, ol' cabbagepatch really sells it well, it's the VA expertise in him)
did NOT watch wandavision,
OR took away from it the idea that wanda only became a... questionably redeemable villain. yknow, after she took down a witch who would only hoard and harness her powers to herself without the guarantee of westview being set free
ignored the fact that wanda herself imposed seclusion and self-exile after westview, because That is how she learned to let go and so that she wouldnt hurt anyone anymore
DEFINITELY ignored the fact that people like monica, darcy, and jimmy acknowledged that she was at the peak of her grief, and knew she was ultimately good underneath all of that
kinda forgot about billy and tommy's powers, and how if they had used them against the scarlet witch in defense by the end, it would likely still make the point they wanted it to
uhhh once again denied a character who has suffered throughout her life even the tiniest sliver of a redemption arc OR real mental help that can be talked about. she doesnt visibly come out of there alive, there's no small seconds of her facing justice but getting proper healing and adjustment that she needed. they literally said that the darkhold (if i am spelling it right, edits abound) corrupts the user. ok, and as the scarlet witch, a literal nexus being, one of the most powerful people out there, couldnt be given the chance to gradually overcome that by the end?,, what is the point of establishing her as a key figure if she justs becomes the big bad to be vanquished at the end of the day?
also lol skipped over mordo being "the guy that tries to kill doctor strange every now and again", like he didnt have a large role in the first film
and many other weak points that may come to mind later on
so, basically, you mean to tell me that throughout all of wanda maximoff's life in the mcu, she never gets another channel for her grief, and that is how exactly she dies? her story doesn't become one of those that essentially say, you get to carve your own destiny and your position or actions or whatever people say dont make you completely evil. no, no, it doubles down on the fact that she's a wicked woman, or turned into one because she lost her kids.
also its crazy because.. idk if it's the angry wanda stan in me right now just after watching the movie, but i cannot remember what stephen's role was. was his arc set on becoming the guardian and mentor for america chavez? was it another lesson for him on how actions have consequences and so does his pride? or was it solely hinged on love and want for christine? hm. he's the titular character.
great cg tho thats what im saying, and all these actors still bring all theyve got to the table despite the weak script.
honestly, way back at the beginning before more details of the film's production were announced, i thought mordo would be the antagonist. y'know, because they alluded to that in the first film's end credits scenes AND because he just is in the comics. like he'd do something or find a way to fuck up sorcerers and magic in the multiverse, because he literally said "no more sorcerers" or smth like that after his disillusionment with the ancient one, so it would be up to a doctor strange/scarlet witch teamup to stop him. and ofc wanda and stephen could have their debate on who's more villainized and why, but still have them be on the same ground. you would expect wanda to be tempted by mordo, with the promise of her children or universes where she's with them and her husband and her brother, but she wouldnt be the total rushed villain and redemption would at least still be on the table. stuff like that, yknow.
:))
but no. that is not what happened, indeed.
(altho john krasinski as reed richards is cool in concept. it fits, and id like to see more of him in that role ngl.
sir patrick stewart as professor x... definitely done dirty with his quick death [as is the case with all members of the illuminati, why are they in charge if they can get taken out like that] but otherwise extremely cool to show his impact And his powers. you could feel that he's got the heart when he went into wanda's mind for a bit. i personally havent watched the x-men films in his and sir ian mckellen's era, and yet somehow because ive got flashes of knowing about it from childhood i get to feel like ive missed him. thats fun)
so did i enjoy it? kinda, yea. a 6-7/10
would i watch it again? only for the sheet music battle scene because i want to properly hear the soundtrack to see how it fits the moment.
otherwise, no. i'd rather rewatch the first doctor strange film, wandavision, and any other fan fix-its.

but it rains, and i rise — a stranger things summer camp au
Tumblr media
Camp Hawk, est. 1953 in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, was designed to ignite the spark of creativity in young teenagers in the hopes of keeping them off of the streets. As years go by, one of the great consistencies throughout generations of Hoppers is their belief that if schools were to take the arts more seriously, kids would go on to live more enriched lives.
And what better example to lead by than the constant flow of counsellors that opt to graduate from their years of being a camper themselves? It's tough to get the campers that grew up with them to refer to them by their counsellor names, but the Eagle himself, Jim Hopper, sees for himself year upon year how well the kids take to respecting their peers once that extra boundary is in place. It's not just former campers, either - despite it being so small and discerning, Camp Hawk is one of the most sought-after for counsellor applications.

Argyle - Canary: A newbie fresh in from Lenora Hills, California. Rocking up in a beaten-up pizza delivery van, blasting reggae music, Hopper was about ready to turn him away before his tyres could track through the parking lot, but his partner, Joyce, insisted Argyle be given a fair shot. Hopper doesn't care much for Argyle's laid-back approach to life, but his offer to create the brand new role of cooking tutor impressed the camp operator enough to hire him. Argyle's always been the kind to throw caution to the wind and let it drive him, but now that he's graduated, he's got to prove himself. He thought getting his job at Surfer Boy Pizza would prove his responsibility, but no dice there. Perhaps this job will help him get taken seriously.
Nancy - Oriole: Hopper's never played favourites, of course not, that wouldn't be fair - but relief certainly swept through him when he saw the name Nancy Wheeler amongst counsellor applications. She was whipping her team into shape even as a young camper - though that started to waver once Steve Harrington came on the scene. Every year became the same - a whirlwind summer romance that lasted from the moment their feet would touch camp soil, only to break each others' hearts on the last day, just to pick up where they left off a year later. However, as Nancy matured over the years, Steve certainly didn't, driving her out of his arms and into the far quieter ones of fellow camper-turned-counsellor, Jonathan Byers.

Jonathan - Finch: It was Hopper's ability to find a talent in young Jonathan which brought him out of his shell, that ultimately brought his mother Joyce closer to the camp operator. It was no skin off Jonathan's back - it practically guaranteed him a spot on the counsellor team without having to interact too much with his fellow campers, at least. But he eventually learned the benefits to socialising when being an ear to listen to Nancy's troubles soon became a shoulder to cry on, which snowballed into a friendship that hinted at far more. Though the two live in completely different parts of the country, long distance seems to suit Jonathan just fine - in fact, better than being in each others' spaces for, say, weeks of their summer vacation.
Chrissy - Parakeet: Chrissy hated camp at first, but she'd never tell her parents. She'd made such a big deal about wanting to go, despite them telling her she wouldn't handle being away from them. That wasn't why she hated camp - that could be boiled down to two words. Steve. Harrington. Every year, without fail, he'd do the absolute most to try and make her life hell. She hated to admit to it, but this rivalry did build character for her. She wants to be as much of a role model to new campers as her counsellors always were to her, and at least she also managed to get her best friend from back home a job, too.

Eddie - Kingfisher: One half of the self-proclaimed Team Newbie, Eddie needed something to pad his resume with now that he'd finally graduated high school alongside his best friend two years his junior, Chrissy Cunningham. Another hesitant hire from Hopper, except beyond the anarchist persona the man could tell that there was a softer side to the boy, crying out for a little bit of order, a little bit of responsibility to prove himself. If Hopper plays his cards right, Eddie has all the makings of an ideal counsellor.
Vickie - Parula: Vickie had lived in close enough proximity of Camp Hawk all her life, and while she begged and begged her parents to sign her up, they insisted on summers being for family vacations. She celebrated her 18th birthday by sending her application for counsellor eight times over - one for every year she wished she could have attended. Of course, she'd done her research. She knew the culture of Camp Hawk inside out. She knew that almost everyone there would know someone, except her. But perhaps that's the unique take she can bring to the camp. If she can show one kid who's struggling to make friends, that even the adults need to start from scratch sometimes, she'd be satisfied.

Steve - Robin: Steve was by far Hopper's proudest achievement. Turning Robert Harrington's spoiled little brat into someone who enjoyed being in a place of structure so much that he was begging Hopper to come back as a counsellor. Just one problem - Steve Harrington doesn't have a creative bone in his body. That's a slight lie, there's one way his creativity shines, but the last thing Hopper needs is Steve teaching more kids how best to prank Chrissy Cunningham, even when his on-and-off girlfriend Nancy was desperately asking him to grow up and settle down for her. Still, Hopper couldn't resist creating another brand new role just for Steve. He just hopes that having a responsibility for something that he cares about will be the final flame under Steve's ass that he needs.
Robin - Cardinal: Robin has spent her whole life being the black sheep of everywhere she goes, and now that she's supposed to "go out into the world" and "find herself", she has no clue where to even begin. She's more than happy to sit back, play second fiddle to whoever needs her to, and let someone else dictate her life for her for as long as possible. Anything that allows her to procrastinate from having to face the realities of all the burdens of reality: not knowing what direction she wants to live her life in, though the pressures of college sure want her to; coming to terms with having finally come out to herself, and having to face the ultimate dread of figuring out who would ever possibly be safe to come out to.
