NASA artistic renderings of sprite lightning in Jupiter's upper atmosphere. 2020, JPL / Caltech. Sometimes I feel like if we could have an extra-dimensional understanding of our universe, we would know for certain beauty is inherent to its nature.

a very fine look at "red sprites" in the sky - here, often above greece - these "transient luminous events" were first photographed in 1989, though they were reported by pilots decades previously

A mysterious cosmic explosion created a brilliant flash of light in the space between two聽galaxies聽over 3 billion light-years away.
The optical flash, which was one of the brightest bursts of blue light in聽the universe聽but lasted only a few days, is the latest example of a rare breed of brief astronomical event called a luminous fast blue optical transient (LFBOT).
LFBOTs are a complete mystery. The first one to be discovered wasn't observed until 2018. Designated AT2018cow, it was positioned in the spiral arm of its galaxy 200 million聽light-years聽away. Nicknamed "the Cow," it was up to 100 times brighter than an ordinary supernova, and was also bright in radio waves, ultraviolet and X-rays. If it was a聽supernova, it behaved very oddly. Usually, a supernova stays bright for weeks, or even months, and has a recognizable spectrum. Yet the Cow faded after a few days.

this is entirely me projecting but i think after mike crew became an avatar of the vast he started being less afraid of lightning and storms and more fascinated by them, as a kid when he researched lightning he would have inevitably come across things like supercells, transient luminous events, tornadoes, etc. so as an avatar of the vast with a new fascination for storms he would be a storm chaser :3c
yes!!! I absolutely think after the lightning strike, mike was terrified of storms, as anyone (especially a kid) would be. but after becoming an avatar??? yes!!! i think he'd have a grand time.
simon does not know what he's smoking but he supports it. it's like when you bring your grandparents to pride.
