Another year, another amazing Tolkientage!! Expect a LOT of pictures to come (also maybe a YouTube video 🤫 and some tiktoks probably). Honestly, the Tolkientage are hands down my favourite con. The people are just SO SO lovely and it is incredibly beautiful. It is all run by a non-profit, so tickets are affordable and the people building the sets and doing the battles and cosplays are all such incredible artists!
This past weekend the Tolkien Days took place in Germany and our cosplay group The Eldar Cosplay had our biggest area yet. I took a lot of photos of our Gondolin camp and these are some of the cosplay pieces I brought and some of the props I made for showcasing in our camp:
Two elven lanterns, inspired by Laurelin and Telperion
a battle map of North Beleriand (size about 90 x 170 cm)
the costume of my OC Nando Kelundir
Maeglin's shield
We'll post more photos, mainly of course of our cosplays, on our group Insta account https://www.instagram.com/the_eldar_cosplay/.

It's been a few years since I was active on Tumblr. But since Instagram seems to be dead now, I'll try to post here more often.
This year I've been making a lot of Tolkien inspired elven dresses/outfits. For this year's edition of the Tolkientage I made the Arwen requim dress for my daughter. As I am currently re-reading The Silmarillion I designed and made a Yavanna Kementari dress for myself. I've posted all my progress on my Instagram account, but I am thinking of posting it all here too.
The horizon blazes with furious redness, a prelude to the misfortune of fools! Our black fist will strike their certainties until they crumble, and with the next dawn the battlefield will be cloaked in crows intent on the horrid banquet. This will be the punishment for too much daring!
It was very amazing on the Tolkien days in Geldern with @tattoostudio.lebendekunst and all of you sweethearts! “Watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
"Aikanár the Sharp-flame loved thee. For thy sake now he will never take the hand of any bride of his own kindred, but live alone to the end, remembering the morning in the hills of Dorthonion." (J.R.R. Tolkien, Histories of Middle-earth: Athrabeth Finrod ah Andreth)
@slutterfly_cosplay posting three of our Andreth x Aikanáro photos from the Tolkien days in Geldern last year inspired me to edit another of our photos too. We got so many precious pics from that shooting, thanks to @goldiepond.
