The problem with fighting Rielle is that he keeps using his powers regardless of whether or not they’re of any actual use in the fight. He’s a strong fighter regardless, but his control of sea creatures seems to be an unconscious impulse that he needs to pay attention to stop.

It’s bad enough when it’s just Yuu discovering interesting and rather awkward things about some of their minions’ heritage. (Enca used to swear blind that she and her parents were 100% human. Her grandparents are getting a divorce next month.)

It’s so much worse when Azul has decided to make himself their captive for the day.

His eyes are glassy, and he’s shambling towards their doomsday machine, tugging mindlessly on various pipes. Which wouldn’t be bad, it’s not like he’s actually doing any damage with those noodle arms of his, except Rielle’s already been damaging it with much more powerful attacks, breaking it to the point where it’s about to blow, and he hasn’t realized he needs to order Azul to retreat.

Yuu swears.

The Supervisor manages to yank Azul away, pull him down behind their work table, before the entire machine explodes.

There’s something soft under their lips.

There’s also something hard pressing into their face, and when they open their eyes there’s a rapidly darkening blue fuzz filling their vision.

Yuu rears back and scrambles off where they were using their body to shield his, stuttered protests only half making it out of their mouth.

Azul is clutching at his lips, hands trembling, a dark blue blush rapidly spreading across his entire face and down to his collarbones.

Yuu has time to think only one thing.

“Ah. Cute.”

“How—how dare you molest an innocent hostage, villain!”

Something slams into the side of their head and everything goes black.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
