Full moom august 2021

Full moom august 2021 how to#
Leaders blaze trails, which might mean standing alone for a minute. There will always be people who oppose your stance, but this new moon reminds us that it's better to be respected (and moreover, to respect yourself) than to gain the so-called popular vote.
Full moom august 2021 how to#
As the zodiac's royal, Leo shows us how to lead with heart and nobility. Your willingness to fight for your desires is the first catalyzing step. And now, you're being challenged-should you forge ahead or back down? The 2021 Leo new moon says: If you want it, pounce! Have you been making excuses, not sticking up for your beliefs, or freaking out before taking action? Maybe good old-fashioned fear has disguised itself as a perfectly reasonable excuse to avoid taking a risk or pursuing what you really want. Leo is the sign of courage, and this new moon can help you develop a stronger backbone. Whether you're "rebranding" yourself with a totally new look and messaging or just glossing things up a bit, visuals are Leo's language. If you don't put it out there, how will they find you?įirst impressions can leave an indelible mark, and the 2021 Leo new moon raises the question: How do you want to shine in this world? Since new moons give us fresh starts, it's well worth the effort to put your goals into practice now. Someone out there could be seeking your very skill set. If what you're offering adds value and inspiration to someone's life, then why not share it? You never know when your story could open another person's eyes or give them life-changing validation. Showy Leo loves attention, and hey, there's no shame in that. But there are also a lot of genius products and services that never get off the ground, simply because they're not properly publicized. There are a lot of people hyping themselves up who don't have the goods. The term "self-promotion" gets a bad rap, but let's face it: In this challenging marketplace, even the squeaky wheel needs to spell out offerings in a way that clearly demonstrates benefits. Already way past the initial honeymoon phase of a relationship? Sharing a new adventure can produce sexy, bonding hormones like dopamine and oxytocin that add fire for you and the love of your life (LOYL). Whether you're looking for love with a fairy-tale quality or "a lover and a best friend," set aside cynicism and generate sparks. Romantically, this new moon resets your compass. Try being unapologetically yourself, even if someone else finds it awkward or controversial. Why hold back your true feelings about an issue, especially when you know speaking up can move the conversation in a new direction? Or pretend you don't love something that's "so last season" according to the self-appointed tastemakers of the world? If it's still your ever-loving jam, carry on and do you. At this Leo new moon, open your heart and get vulnerable. It's anything but remote, cool, and unruffled. Hiding your feelings is supposedly a sign of self-control and maturity-but what good does it actually do? Leo energy is all about naked honesty, childlike glee, and unmasked excitement. Here are six transformative tips for making the most of the 2021 Leo new moon: During the 2021 Leo new moon, your best moves don't just draw applause, they lift up the people around you. This new moon will square humanitarian Uranus in Taurus, which can curb some of the self-serving tendencies that are the downside of the prideful Lion. If you're feeling a call to leadership, this lunar lift is like a launchpad to your chosen throne. At a time when the world is endlessly filled with fear and uncertainty, it's time for some true heroes to emerge-with plenty of "backbone" and a whole lot of love. Leo is also the ruler of the heart and spine. A curious attitude and willingness to experiment could blow the roof off your limited beliefs. Park your inner cynic in the timeout chair for one day. See what happens if you turn your focus toward synergy, spark, and opportunity. (Yes, even though Venus and Mars are both in Virgo during this new moon.) While we can't completely blow off our daily duties, taking regular screen breaks is a must. With the 2021 Leo new moon buoying everyone's romanticism, it may be hard to focus on anything super practical.

Idk if you talk about tv shows much but I’d love your thoughts on the Saved By the Bell reboot, especially parallels between new characters and the old ones and where you think they’re going with romance
i love talking about shows!!!
old vs new group
Zack and Mac
If the names and incredibly accurate casting wasn't enough, their knack for getting themselves into trouble, setting up elaborate pranks, and falling fast and hard for random girls should be a really good indicator of the parallel. But, one thing that should be mentioned: there is a little bit of Kelly in Mac too, which makes him a little more endearing that Zack (who really is trash). Mac is a lot more family oriented than Zack was, and Kelly, being in a family of seven kids, understands the importance of good familial relationships, and we see Mac wanting to be closer to his father. He does all of this stuff just because he wants his father to see him for once. And that is all Kelly.
Lisa and Lexi
I mean this one is kind of obvious: obsessed with fashion and relationships. They're both popular and give good advice. But I think the biggest difference between them is that Lexi's intentions are purely selfish while Lisa generally did what was best for her friends. It's interesting how they get into similar scrapes, but there's the very clear difference in how they happen and what the results are. Lisa, who spent a ton of her father's money and then worked to pay it back, even though her friends offered her money, ended up happy while learning a lesson. But when Lexi tries to get Jamie to date her or tries to win the role of president, she gets out of her scrapes without learning anything. She's starting to learn and she's going to have a great arc, but Lisa was - mostly - selfless from the first episode.
Jessie and Daisy
Again, another very obvious comparison. Jessie was the overachieving class president who was best friends with the popular prankster. And, per Mac's proclamation in the second episode, Daisy is Mac's best friend. But what sets Jessie and Daisy apart is that Jessie was super vocal about everything she believed in, and was willing to upset people she cared about even if it hurt her (think of her will-they-won't-they with Slater where she accused him of being a sexist pig every other second). And Daisy is just as vocal, but she has an inherent understanding of when to step back and let other people figure things out. Like when she says that if she wants to do anything at Bayside, she had to stop trying to fix one guy. Jessie didn't take that route with Slater.
Kelly and Jamie
For all of their other incredible qualities, Kelly and Jamie were reduced to the good looking airheads of the group. Kelly was the object of many boys' affection, and Jamie is just as liked by the girls at Bayside. But they're also both insanely kind and willing to help their friends. Jamie was the only one from the Bayside trio to be genuinely saddened about the kids having to go back to Douglas because, like Kelly, he never really has ulterior motives. He's kind of just... misguided.
Slater and DeVante
I know that the show explored this parallel from the very beginning of the show with the whole football thing, but their similarities extend farther. Slater was lonely and a little jaded when he arrived at Bayside because he had been in fourteen schools due to his father being stationed in a lot of different places. His only friend was his chameleon that he was really attached to. And he used his insecurities to look tough and join different teams to create his own family, knowing very well that he may have to leave. And DeVante has a really hard home life, and he's had some past misdemeanor issues, but like Slater, he wants to change how people view him while also trying to become happier. Maybe he isn't ready for a family like group of friends, but he's trying.
Screech and Aisha
Screech got the short end of the stick a lot, but he was an incredibly kind and helpful person - he got Lisa out of a lot of scrapes even though she never showed any interest or kindness in return - but most importantly: he was unapologetically himself. He flaunted his ant farm and his interesting abilities, no matter how much Zack teased him. And Aisha is the same way. She wanted to play football without a helmet just so people would know they were losing to her. And she's kind too. She lends a shoulder to Daisy constantly, and she's respectful towards Lexi even though she kind of admitted to sabotaging Jamie and Aisha's relationship.
Romances
the triangle
The Aisha, Lexi, and Jamie love triangle is reminiscent to the Slater, Zack, and Kelly triangle, where two people are fighting for the affections of a third person that’s rather oblivious. Saved By the Bell is a big fan of the “best friends to lovers” trope, so Lexi and Jamie might be the most obvious choice for long term couple, but - and hear me out here - I think the ultimate couple will be Aisha and Jamie. Jamie is less prejudiced out of the three original Bayside kids, but he’s a little confused, especially because his mother shields him from so much. If the show can do it right, with Aisha’s prompting, Jamie can have an amazing arc where he steps away from his mother and other people that have controlled his life (like Lexi), learning that he’s enough as his own person, and Jessie can learn that her son will be okay on his own.
And Jamie can teach Aisha how to accept her feelings, especially since she admitted that she’s not the best at talking about/understanding her feelings.
Slater and Jessie
Ah yes, my personal favorite. Especially since Jessie stood up to Rene, it’s highly likely that Kelly will be sowing the seeds of the old relationship in the second season, and we go back to our regularly scheduled programing
also - can you guys tell I adore Jamie yet? - it would be great for Jamie to have a positive father figure, something he doesn’t have since Jessie did most of the raising.
Mac and Daisy
I know their actors were surprised by this pairing, but Mac and Daisy are perfect. Before Slater asked Jessie to the prom, I shipped Jessie and Zack so hard because they had chemistry and they were friends. Mac and Daisy have the chemistry - and have had it since day one - but also they’re best friends who build each other up and learn from each other. The also appreciate and value each other. Mac tried to teach Daisy how to be rich to get what he wanted, but ultimately he pushed everyone to help her since he knew that she was doing the right thing. And Daisy accused him of not being able to do anything, but she apologizes because she understands that Mac is still working out his issues and most importantly - he’s trying.
And I know this part is self-fulfilling because I’m Latina, but I really want Mac learning about Daisy’s culture and understanding where she’s coming from. Also: Mac interacting with Daisy’s brother would be perfect.

Lokius Hogwarts AU
All right my dudes, hot take time:
I’ve seen a lot of Hogwarts AU headcanons floating around, and having thought waaaaaay too much about it, I’m here to add my two cents.
( @sortinghatchats has my favorite sorting system I’ve seen to date, since it goes so much in depth into themes throughout the HP series that good ol’ JK barely touches on in her pretty surface level commentary on the subject, so that’s the system I’m gonna use. Go to their blog to learn more about the way the system works bc I’m too lazy to go more in depth than I already have.)
This is gonna be Hella Long tho so I’m putting it under a cut.
Loki: Petrified Slytherin Primary/Slytherin Secondary - sorting: Slytherin House
Perhaps it may seem trite, but Loki really is a Slytherin Primary at heart. Yes he is ambitious and all that stereotypical stuff, but that’s not really what makes a Slytherin a Slytherin. Anyone can be ambitious. No, he’s a Slytherin because he unapologetically prioritizes himself and the people he cares about above all else.
“Slytherin Primaries are fiercely loyal to the people they care for most. Slytherin is the place where “you’ll make your real friends”– they prioritize individual loyalties and find their moral core in protecting and caring for the people they are closest to. Slytherin’s reputation for ambition comes from the visibility of this promotion of the self and their important people– ambition is something you can find in all four Houses; Slytherins is just the one that looks most obviously selfish.”
However, Loki’s trauma has pushed him to something this system calls Petrifying.
“Whether through death, betrayal, abandonment (from either side), or through never having had any to begin with, the Petrified Slytherin has decided that having important people is too dangerous. Having those strong ties leaves you open to pain and weakness, and the pleasure of those connections aren’t worth the despair that comes from their seemingly inevitable loss. In this way, they close themselves off to meaningful connections out of what is ultimately fear (though from the inside, it’s far more likely to be experienced as a rational, sensible decision given the circumstances of the world), and gives them a stony exterior that seems impenetrable, resolute, and cold.”
Loki wants love and acceptance so badly, but he is convinced that the kind of attachments and relationships that that comes from are far too dangerous and the risk isn’t worth the reward. He pushes people away, hides behind a mask of self-aggrandizement, and betrays others before they can betray him in an attempt to protect himself from potential pain.
In the series, however, we see him slowly unpetrify and move towards a more healthy style of attachment because of Mobius and Sylvie’s influence on him. Whereas his circle of priorities used to include only himself (and arguably Frigga and later, Thor, in the movie timeline), he proverbially “thaws” enough to let Mobius and Sylvie in, and tragically, because of that, the loss of them hurts him so deeply because by the end of season 1, they’re all he had.
His Slytherin Secondary, however, is obvious in his methodology. He’s the god of chaos. He loves improvisation, and plans only exist as long as another better idea doesn’t come along and usurp it. He’ll change and adapt (quite literally) to best fit the situation in front of him, and he takes joy in that. But beneath all the running and his many personas, he has his “neutral state” that he lets only a precious few see. Mobius gets to see it, and so does Sylvie, and as he progresses through the series, he starts to be more comfortable existing in that state where he’s no longer hiding behind everything he feels like the world expects him to be and he can just be himself.
Mobius: Slytherin Primary (Hufflepuff Model)/Hufflepuff Secondary - sorting: Slytherin House
People like to put Mobius in Hufflepuff, but honestly? I don’t think that’s where he’d be most comfortable. Yes, he is kind and caring to basically everyone, and we see this over and over again in the series. The man radiates comfort. However, like it says in Inky and Kat’s description of the Slytherin Primary,
“Wanting to help someone doesn’t mean you’re loyal to them. Wanting to help them at the expense of your comforts, your values, your commitments and sometimes even yourself–that does.”
Mobius is kind to a fault. But he is not kind at the expense of himself. Not to everyone at least. He is kind to the child in France, but he is not kind to the point of saving him from the resetting of the timeline, and he doesn’t feel guilty about that. He believes in a duty of care, but he does not believe he has any obligation to go beyond what he thinks that duty of care is. He unapologetically plays favorites, and this is mentioned on multiple occasions. Above all else, Mobius values loyalty as a virtue. Sure, he cares about the TVA and its accompanying morality, and he genuinely does believe it’s his duty to care about and be kind to others. He seems to vibe quite well with the Hufflepuff ideal of caring about people simply because they are people, but this is all secondary to his personal loyalties when push comes to shove. For Mobius,
“dropping that model in order to stand by someone you love, or in order to protect yourself, doesn’t feel like a failing. Sticking to that modelled morality at the expense of betraying or abandoning one of their own would make a Slytherin feel guilty and wrong. Being able to put the things and concepts you like aside for the sake of the people who need you feels more righteous than any moral posturing.”
It’s for this very reason that Mobius gets so angry and feels so betrayed when he thinks Loki has abandoned him for Sylvie, and when Ravonna lies to him and prunes him.
“Betraying your own is the worst kind of crime. Loyalty is precious and terrible; it makes you vulnerable. It’s given sparingly, deeply, and a Slytherin will stand by their loyalties through the same death and fire that a Gryffindor would brave for the sake of doing the right thing, or a Hufflepuff to help someone in need.”
Loki is Mobius’ own. Mobius prioritizes Loki over almost everything else, sticks his neck out for him over and over again, and is willing to sacrifice his own happiness for him. He’s even willing to abandon the whole of his former ideology and prior friendships for this relationship that has become closer to him than his own self, the highest tier of trust and loyalty a Slytherin can give.
“It’s an extreme Slytherin who would let the whole world burn for the sake of a friend, but every Slytherin Primary would be at the very least tempted.”
And Mobius very nearly does exactly that. Even says the words, “burn it to the ground” when Loki asks him what he’s going to do. And he doesn’t feel bad about it. Especially after realizing what the TVA has done to him and the people he cares about. He kicks the TVA out of his circle of care, and doesn’t look back. And he does it for Loki.
Mobius’ Secondary is where people get his Hufflepuff vibes from, I think. A Hufflepuff secondary is marked by “their consistency and the integrity of their method. They’re our hard workers. They build habits and systems for themselves and accomplish things by keeping at them. They have a steadiness that can make them the lynchpin (though not usually the leader) of a community.” And that is what Mobius is. It’s why he radiates that kindness and comfort. He quietly and carefully works at and invests in the relationships in his life to the point that people almost automatically trust him, and over time he has learned how to read people and figure out what makes them tick.
He approaches new situations with a steady head and gentle hand that Loki is unused to, and it’s this approach that eases Loki into learning how to trust and rely on people. It’s an inherently Hufflepuff approach, and it’s the key to his success as an analyst for the TVA and an understanding friend for Lokis across the timelines.
Tl;dr - Application to an actual Hogwarts AU fic:
THEREFORE! There’s a compelling narrative to be had with a tiny, first-year Loki coming into Hogwarts. He comes from a pureblood family that’s very proud of their Gryffindor heritage (they don’t talk about Hela, and Loki and Thor don’t even know she exists until later in this story), and his brother had been sorted into Gryffindor a couple years prior, and Loki has heard very little other than contempt for Slytherin House and everyone in it. Loki doesn’t want to be sorted into Slytherin. He doesn’t want to deal with the disappointment and shame from his father and the sad eyes of his brother. But the sorting hat sorts him there almost immediately, and his heart sinks. He wanders over to the table miserably but determined. If he’s gonna be sorted into the “evil” house, might as well just run with it, right? Best not to get close to people though. It’s Slytherin. Who knows when someone will betray you.
Enter Mobius, the tiny muggleborn, bright eyed, bushy tailed, and having no clue about the prejudices between houses. The hat takes a hot minute sorting him, giving him the choice between Hufflepuff and Slytherin and telling him Hufflepuff would love a kindhearted and welcoming member like him. But Mobius has been eyeing the little black-haired kid who got sorted before him and is now sitting far apart from everyone, and he can’t help but feel like he needs to be this kid’s friend. And didn’t the hat just say Slytherin is where you’ll make your real friends? Friends are what Mobius cares about, so he’d like to go to Slytherin, thank you very much, so that’s where he goes, and he happily plunks himself down right next to Loki and sticks his hand out.
“I’m Mobius. What’s your name?”
Loki looks at Mobius’ hand disdainfully and doesn’t shake it, but he does answer, “Loki.”
Mobius’ eyes go wide, and he smiles. “Loki? Like after the Norse god?”
Loki nods, eyeing Mobius suspiciously. People don’t often bat an eye at his name. Not in the wizarding world, anyway.
“Wow, that’s so cool! I loved reading about Norse mythology in school and Loki was always my favorite. Names have power, you know. If you’ve got the same name, then you must be just as awesome.”
Loki has no idea what to do with this kid, but he’s immediately aware of two things:
He’s absolutely sure that this Mobius kid is in the wrong house. No way a Slytherin can be this excited without a single hint of deception in his face.
He’s going to be eaten alive by the other students if Loki doesn’t protect him. What a pain.
Loki is completely wrong on both of these points.

Aries Sun and Moon Combinations
Planets represent different energetic principals in the life of an individual – the signs show the filter these energies express through.
Having an inner planet (or luminary) in the sign of Aries gives the personality a thirst for conquest, a thirst for independence. No matter what other placements the person has, self-focus and competitiveness are going to come through.
To simplify;
The Sun represents individuation, ideal self-expression and conscious self-actualization.
The Moon represents instinct, emotional nature and personal needs.
Aries Sun – Taurus Moon
The person has an identity that is tied up with ideal of assertion, of being whatever one likes to be – loudly and unapologetically. Compromise is not something that sits well with this individual because one finds identity through enforcing an independent will. Needless to say, this is a setup for powering through obstacles without attempting to navigate around them. The person wants to make a point of being strong and superior in all ways that matter. Catering to other people’s needs and desires doesn’t appeal because there’s no fulfillment to be gained from looking to other people for confirmation or approval. Temperamentally, the person has a stubborn streak; a passive desire to be in control of the physical components of life and make sure that one is firmly rooted in the material realm. The person would need to move a little bit slower than the average Arien, to make sure that everything is ready and set to go before jumping in. This might temper a bit with the ideal that one is trying to actualize, but it would surely prove beneficial in terms of practical success. The more earthy needs of the person would make sure to keep the individual focused on material sufficiency and comfort, while still allowing for competitiveness and conquest. However, the natural tendency toward moving slowly and getting things done in a familiar pace could hinder the development of a free, independent spirit that moves quickly and then sits back to watch the accomplishment. The person is temperamentally suited for more outdrawn processes that require stamina rather than bursts of enthusiasm and dedication, but it’s important to accommodate for both with this combo. Life is not heading anywhere in particular and it’s more important to be set in a nice place with a stable job and a stable income and a nice possessions from the lunar perspective. From the solar perspective, the will must be honored and allowed expression because it symbolizes something immortal that is unconditioned and unbounded by the physical and bodily needs. An Aries Sun is the ultimate warrior and hero archetype; forever young and forever ready to fight for the satisfaction of feeling potent and energetic. With this combo, the person would be more prone to assert themselves on the physical plane, in terms of work and activity but as always, it depends on the overall chart. In any case, this is a particularly reliable and stable initiator, a dependable leader that sticks to what’s comfortable while testing the waters a little bit at the same time.
Aries Sun – Scorpio Moon
There’s a lot of force to this individual, as the identity develops through assertion and the inborn temperament is emotionally charged, perceptively penetrative and secretive. There’s sharpness and an uncompromising air about the person. There are clear boundaries but they are not necessarily outspoken, they’re felt through the presence in a very obvious way. Pleasant and civilized interaction is a temporary cover for more self-centered action, presumably. There’s little to no room for facades, the person craves the real and raw if one is to be emotionally involved in anything. But, the façade is not really dropped willingly. More often than not, the person would not open up but resort to playing mind games with people, stirring emotions and controlling situations – everything to avoid being controlled first. There’s great capacity for perseverance in the name of staying in control – of oneself and of other people. Remaining in a state of coolness is valued over everything because the inner is always in one’s reach while the outer might turn overwhelming at times. The emotional temperament is quite different from the conscious identity, in the sense that an Aries Sun prefers to do things out in the open and not behind closed doors or underhandedly. The identity would prefer honest and direct confrontation, not clever manipulation. There’s no honor to be gained through playing covert emotional blackmail or silently stripping people off their psychological advantage. It might be difficult for this combo to work together effectively because they exist on different playing fields. The motives and methods are very different which might call for compartmentalization. In certain spaces the solar identity could show off it’s potency and strength, and the lunar needs could have an outlet somewhere else. Nevertheless, the person is going to be quite independent, not only because one seeks to individualize through emphasizing the force of the self, but because one is extremely suspicious of others. Emotionally, the person always makes sure to not get tangled up in the emotional forces of other people or themselves. There’s acute sensitivity to the most minor of violations. It’s impossible to keep safe from these influences, so the person would resort to make others drink their own poison – to enhance awareness (and for the purpose of payback). With an Aries Sun, the payback could be particularly dramatic and loud because there’s something appealing in the overt display of one’s capacity to make an impact. The combination of being psychologically advanced and fiercely independent lays the foundation for a very strong character.
Aries Sun – Leo Moon
The strong self-assertion that is part of the process of self-actualization fits smoothly with the self-affirming tendency of the emotional nature. There’s big energy to this combo emanating from the center outward. The person seeks a role of importance, a role worthy of a king or a queen. There’s a lot of pride and confidence radiating from the person, one is part of a great plot and can’t be seen bowing one’s head. More than likely there is the tendency to want to dominate situations energetically – be the biggest and loudest energetic presence. Emotionally, there’s a craving for attention, of being important and talented enough for people to take notice and engage with what one’s doing. If there’s not sufficient focus and attention being supplied, there could be an attempt to make some noise and raise the volume of one’s presence in order to get the needs met. The conscious identity might seek respect through deliberate conquest and challenge, but the emotional needs aren’t deliberate or conscious. The person needs a certain amount of appreciation and might stir a lot of drama in order to get it. There’s a natural theatrical flare to the person and there’s likely not to be a dull moment around them. There’s a passion and energy that is unmistakable. As is typical of Aries, there might be little room for other people’s business – the person likes to mind their own and excel without too much concern about what other people are or aren’t doing. The emotional temperament might drag the action of the conscious identity into the spotlight one way or another, attempting to fill the cup of much needed confirmation of greatness. The ultimate caring act is to be seen and confirmed in all one’s displays of emotion – and if that can’t be achieved, the last resort is to fish for negative attention. The solar identity is more concerned with embodying all the idealistic qualities of the masculine strength and will than selling out like this, but the lunar needs demand to be satisfied no matter how much the conscious strivings reject neediness. In the best case scenario the person can hold the head high, not only due to conscious will and established independence, but with the help of a supportive and cooperative crowd. One should watch out as to not become too self-affirmative as a coping mechanism to not diminish oneself. The sting of rejection and criticism is not as bad as one might think – besides; it’s honorable to be able to swallow a hard pill with grace. The person has the potential to really shine in the world, but it won’t be achieved through compensation or struggle to be something one is not. It’s enough to let greatness enfold through maturation and wisdom.
Aries Sun – Aquarius Moon
The person is set on continuously establishing independence. The identity forms around the qualities of strength and self-will and the emotional needs are that of fulfilling conceptual freedom. It’s not enough to just feel free; one has to know that one is free in terms of structural arrangements and possibilities for growth. There’s a rebellious nature to the person. One is the type to easily fixate on restriction and seek to power through all obstacles with conscious will – of course; this is not done literally but conceptually. How is it possible to change the overall attitude of people in society to allow for more personal freedom? How does one create opportunity, not only for the self but also for humanity as a whole? The person has a theoretical and intellectual approach to emotion, which would cause a distancing between the person and the actual experience. This might make the person seem detached and unaffected by personal events, but it’s not that the person is unconcerned, it’s that things are dealt with rather than passively experienced. There’s likely to be little room for “just letting things be” with this combo. The solar identity wants a challenge and takes initiative to achieve something and the lunar needs fuel this by being concerned with the technicalities of all dimensions of reality. The potential for change is like music to the ears of this person. There’s always a new day and a new opportunity to push one’s own vision and agenda, for the good of all of course. Patience would perhaps not be this person’s preferred state to be in, but it is worth it if it leads to the dissolving of outdated, biased perspectives in the collective. The person might not like to be overly involved with other people in terms of close contact; one would prefer to fight battles independently while keeping the best for humanity in mind. The person would feel quite connected to the larger whole. Intimacy is desired, but through understanding rather than emotional merging. The person doesn’t want to lose independence and would likely reject any attempt at emotional clinginess. Respect and freedom is sought instinctually - it’s important to keep personal boundaries while respecting other people’s boundaries as well. This is the ultimate caring act for the person – to honor uniqueness and autonomy. Although the Arien identity might make the person a little more confrontational, the temperament is very ethically based.
Aries Sun – Capricorn Moon
This is someone who has aim and ambition but it’s not only because of eagerness to test one’s strength, it’s also because of feelings of being exiled from lightness and love. The person might consciously identify as capable and fiercely independent while lack is felt on a more basic emotional level. The person is concerned about not being able to face life in all its demands – everything seems to require effort. Consciously the person might be full of energy to face obstacles and power through anything, however, innate pessimism might stifle this conscious ambition. Underneath the strong self, there’s someone who feels as if life is a big long struggle. Responsibility and accomplishment is very much part of this person’s instinctual makeup. The individual has a controlled temperament, a cool and calm disposition. These even moods take their toll, and might just cause occasional breakdowns – emanating in fierce pessimism. The person might be inclined to attempt to “just get over it” or adopt and attitude that says, “screw this I won’t try this hard anymore”.  It won’t prove productive, because trying hard is part of who this person is. Everything is done for a purpose, even if this purpose is to “not care about anything anymore”. There’s no getting around it. There’s a craving for recognition, of being socially and societally esteemed. The Arien identity might reject this need in an attempt to establish radical independence for itself – to be dependent on actual accomplishment for confidence is not how the self operates. The person might feel as if one can’t accommodate for both aspects at the same time. Radical self-assertion versus concentrated effort is the dilemma. The two don’t go together naturally. This combo would create a person who likes to take initiative but might not have the usual Arien quickness because of a more cautious and doubtful temperament. It’s not all bad, because when the more concentrated temperament meets the will to project oneself out into the world, something truly valuable, creative and thoughtful can manifest itself. The task is to not to set the bar too high and demand excellence of every endeavor. Excellence is often a rare thing, and it doesn’t come to life by demand. It’s an expression of precision combined with a strong energy signature. It’s wise to trust the process and keep working through the unfulfilling times. Sometimes that which is found to be of value is the inner resources that are discovered through the challenges.
Aries Sun – Cancer Moon
Taking initiative is part of the person’s way of being, but the conscious motivation for doing so is different from the instinctual motivations. Consciously the person wants to actualize the expression of asserting energy, of starting something, of getting things going. There’s impatience and force to the identity, there’s a desire to be first, to be best and to excel in any way one is able to. The instinctual nature is less assertive and more passive – the initiative is to protect and preserve. Instinctually, the person moves in round about ways, keeping an eye out for potential threats to the emotional equilibrium as to avoid any challenging and uncomfortable situations. This combo is another difficult one as there’s an obvious conflict between the active and passive energies. On the one hand the person’s path to self-actualization involves being willing to take risks and face resistance, on the other, the innate nature of the person is careful and avoidant. It might prove difficult to deal with this conflict. However, it would create a friction that could serve as a spark for attempted reconciliation. The frustration that is built within the person could be positively pressing in the sense that it could stimulate creativity. Caring and nurturing might come naturally to the person – having a home and a safe space could be really important. The Arien identity could perhaps be a real warrior within the confines of the home and accomplish tasks quickly. Frustration would build, but it could stimulate the atmosphere and make the person dynamic and exciting. At times, the conscious Arien self might dominate and carelessly throw the person into aggressive “make it or break it” situations – at others times the person could become extremely cautious and defensive, regretting the foolish dangers one put the self through. There could be a lot of regrets in hindsight of not confronting people when one should have or not going after something when one should have. The inborn attitude of “better to be safe than sorry” doesn’t sit well with the person’s path of self-actualization, but it’s nonetheless the temperament the person was born with. Pondering over memories, thinking over past events, retreating into a safe space of calm, keeping the outside out comes naturally. The task is to develop an uncompromising will, courage and an active stance. It will be difficult but it will be self-affirming and ultimately fulfilling. The Cancerian instinct can become aggressive when emotions are threatened and protection is needed, but it’s often more due to being hurt than enforcing the will out of sheer conviction and impulse.
Aries Sun – Aries Moon
This person has a lot of energy. There’s nothing passive about this combo – the conscious identity is set on the trail of achievement and conquest, the innate temperament is by nature impulsive, confrontational - quick to strike and quick to act. The person doesn’t do anything that hasn’t originated within. If there’s ever any question about this there’s strong push back. How dare anyone question the person’s independence and autonomy? There’s nothing noble in being a follower, there’s nothing noble in being weak. Asking for help might be really difficult because it’s the worst feeling for this person. Cooperation with other might also prove hard since the person is very impatient and is unwilling to wait for others to catch up. Additionally, Aries as a sign has a hard time being outcompeted and won’t enter into situations that would mean taking the position of the underdog. Some fights are not worth fighting because of the difference between opponents in terms of method and skill. It’s wise to demonstrate one’s excellence in contexts where one competes on equal terms and with equal conditions. There’s nothing inherently mean or vicious about the person, there’s a lot of energy that seeks to project itself, but it’s quite innocent and uncalculated. Manipulation and subtle undermining tactics are not this person’s style; grudges and conflicts are out in the open for better or for worse. It might get heated and sharp, but it’s clear-cut and straight to the point. Roundabout navigation is not characteristic of this combo. Sparing other people’s feelings and accommodating for weaker individuals are not appealing in the least. In fact, it’s an insult to other people’s potency and strength. There’s a motive of fairness behind this attitude, which might be appreciated, especially by other fiery individuals. One would be inclined to forget a lot of things once the heat of the moment has passed, again for better or for worse. The person lives more in the now than any other sun-moon combination and isn’t carrying a lot of emotional baggage into the present. The freshness of a new beginning is what the person craves, to be reborn and wiped clean from the past. It goes without saying that responsibilities and long-term relationships that require consistent behavior could take a toll on the person’s spirited nature. Some things in life aren’t supposed to be temporary conquest; they require consistency. This might not sit well with the person, as one lives through spirit as the highest truth. One needs no context, the self is the only context needed.
Aries Sun – Libra Moon
The person finds that on the one hand, there’s the conscious expression of identity that is self-asserting, and then there’s the unconscious emotional needs that require social exchange. Instinctually, the person seeks comfort and approval from others. There’s a need to reference other people in order to establish one’s own needs, which makes the person quite dependent and non-aggressive. There’s a constant ambivalence and second-guessing taking place since people’s moods and behavior change. The person has a great capacity for compromise and listening attentively to other people. This is how the needs for being liked, appreciated and admired are being satisfied. The more socially fair and just one is, the more one secures internal harmony. On the flip side of the lunar needs we have the solar ideal, the path of individuation. Having an Aries Sun means that force, confrontation, assertion, impulse and competition are to be developed. There should be little consideration of others opinions and convictions - one should rely on one’s own sense of direction. Butting heads isn’t something that the Libra Moon is instinctually suited for, which might cause the person to navigate around any roughness mentally. Establishing equilibrium is what comes naturally to the person, but it’s not what should be sought in terms of self-actualization. It takes recognition of both aspects within oneself to not judge one or the other from either standpoint. One should allow for both to exist in time, even though one might temporarily exclude the other. The need for partnership is strong and might dominate the conscious quest for independence. Other people might find it difficult to understand how one can be so pleasant and interactive at times, while being extremely self-focused at others. It would be as if one actively rejects entanglement and exchange but can’t help but to seek out others, leaning on them for support and comfort. One could feel enhanced by cooperation, while feeling suffocated by it the next. Alternatively, one could be fine to do things on one’s own, but then experiencing great insecurity and need to have someone to interact with. On a more positive note, one might never lose one’s sense of refinement in one’s willful pursuits. It’s impossible for this person to tray too far into the land of selfhood without feeling a tug that is asking “what about the others?”. There’s too much focus on other people for the person to not care about the whereabouts of others.

Aries Sun – Virgo Moon
The person is practically inclined and is concerned with the physical realm while there’s a strong conscious will for assertion. The person might live in a self-absorbed bubble; mentally going over the little details that make one’s life what it is. Eating this, walking there, dropping that off, visiting that place, and thinking about that thing… The little everyday occurrences have the biggest impact on this person. It’s the small things that conspire to make the whole picture. This can be very beautiful, but very annoying as well. If something isn’t right the person might not be able to let it go, especially if identity was invested in that thing. Although the person is relatively controlled in terms of not creating a mess that is going to have to be cleaned up later – one certainly has a temper as part of the Arien nature. The lunar instinct is quite preoccupied with sticking to principal and routine – especially one’s own routine. When it has to be broken and restructured due to unforeseen circumstances, all hell could break loose. The temperament might be well suited to adapt but the identity doesn’t want to at any cost. This could lead the person to completely boycott anything that is opposed to the personal method of doing things – especially as it relates to physical life. The tendency to over-analyze and care too much about getting things right might make the person snap and do everything with force, results be what they may. There’s definitely incongruence between caring about doing things correctly, and not giving a damn about the method and just doing it. Emotionally, the person craves neatness and orderliness, but it’s not the overall goal of individuation, which is to head out uncompromisingly toward a personal goal. The person might feel as if the need for things to be “as they should” is inhibiting the drive and initiative that waits to be actualized. When the inborn temperament and the conscious identity manage to align, there’s potentially a great ability for making things happen in terms of physical labor and precision. There’s a creative energy and a personal conviction that can be carried into the tangible with great precision and skill. The person is likely to be mentally involved with personal projects most of the time. Even if some work has to be carried out for other people, the person might be satisfied if there’s still some room to make individual decisions. If independence and freedom to act gets to compromised, the person is likely to want get up and leave. However, the Virgo instinct is to adjust and reconsider, not enforce a clear direction out of pure will. A lot of anxiety and regret could be felt over certain actions taken for this reason.
Aries Sun – Pisces Moon
There’s receptivity and changeability to this person, yet the identity has a clear direction for itself. There’s great understanding and sympathy at the core of the person. Temperamentally there’s not any inclination to separate and divide, but rather to merge and experience all souls as one’s own. The person would be hard pressed to find enough conviction to stay on one course because the personal will is often not felt as one’s own. The person is being moved as a particle within the vastness of life, but somehow tries to actualize the perception of being the one who acts. Neither perspective is wrong. It’s likely that the person is meant to cultivate a sense of an individual self that is potent and strong within the world while also having the subtle knowing that it’s not all that one is. However, this doesn’t mean that individuality stands as a contradiction to source or undifferentiated life. The person feels deeply and is bombarded with impressions from left to right – from within and from without. The need to recuperate and finding a foothold is of utmost importance because it is easy to lose oneself in the ocean of life. This could be facilitated by the Aries Sun, since it’s all about the energy of the self. The person is supposed to be an active agent in the world and project one’s energy outward with uncompromising force. Challenges are fun and testing one’s capacity is effectively self-affirming. One should take care not to neglect the need for solitude and stillness though, it will be what makes or breaks the overall health of the individual. Passive receptiveness is what comes naturally, while assertive independence is what constitutes the philosophic ideal, the goal of individuation. Confrontation, friction, honesty, courage and free will are sought through personal existence. One should beware of the tendency to act and then having the assertion fold in on itself, making the energies self-destructive. The energy should ideally establish reality, not yield to the interpretation of outside forces. Even if there’s sadness present, for example, one should not lose sight of the self that is choosing to be affected. With this combo, it’s advisable to always attempt to bring the reality of choice back – which brings the energy of assertion back. Choice might seem trivial and illusory from a deterministic perspective, but it isn’t. One can choose to have sadness overwhelm or be the sadness that overwhelms. It’s the difference between being imposed on and being the one who imposes. Interpretation dictates experience.
Aries Sun – Sagittarius Moon
Restlessness and eagerness are characteristic of the person’s emotional nature. There’s a desire to experience oneself through variety of experience. The person is seeking the spirit of life through the multitude components rather than isolated phenomena in order to be able to connect the dots laid out by the universal spirit. The person needs purpose to be emotionally fulfilled – and stimulation. Boredom is probably the worst for this person, more so than tragedy or sorrow. It’s almost as if there’s immunity to feeling too deeply and experiencing things too personally. One moves on and looks ahead to brighter days. The conscious Arien identity works well with this kind of temperament because it is assertive, active and uncompromising. None of the fire signs are particularly keen on identifying with weakness and every hurt is seen as part of journey toward greater self-discovery or realization. There’s no trace of pessimism to be found, there are only challenges and obstacles to get past in this person’s mind. This attitude could easily lead to burnout if one isn’t careful. Exaggerated optimism is never good – because it’s a coping mechanism and not genuine if it’s enforced at every cost. Adventure and living on trust and faith is what the person craves – and there’s nothing that would indicate that it wouldn’t work. The person is very adaptable and optimistic which could take them far - that is to say if the person doesn’t go too Arien and decides to not be “buddy” with everyone anymore. Some could find the person to be ignorant of emotions and too easy-going in relationships because of the innate need for freedom. Others would probably find the person exciting and dynamic despite the casual attitude. The path of self-actualization obviously points to a less casual and more deliberate nature that is out to confront and project energy. There’s less of a search, more of a simple desire to move forward and be a strong presence. The person craves some friction but would attempt to express it in a way that’s respectful. The concept of respect is important, but not in the sense that one would end up walking on eggshells around people. To respect another person’s existence is to respect their strength and not their fragility, from this person’s viewpoint. In the light of this, it’s not wrong to step on a few toes if the other can take it well. One might need to be a little careful as to not go to far in one’s bluntness and directness sometimes, but it’s probably impossible to not offend people every now and then – it’s part of what characterizes this combo.
Aries Sun – Gemini Moon
Symbolically speaking, this combo is the ultimate youngster. There’s too much activity to label the person “old” at any stage in life. Temperamentally, the person is a learner and organizer, a trickster and a prankster. Emotions shift quickly and can go from light to heavy in a heartbeat. It might be nice to not be able to stay in one mood for too long, but it’s also extremely confusing because one is always a little bit uncertain of where one stands. The emotional climate is extremely reflective of the thoughts one thinks, which is why the person would avoid going places mentally in order to spare themselves. When the ability to label and conceptualize doesn’t serve to get them out of a tight spot, there’s great distress. The conscious personality is assertive and forceful; it seeks to embody strength and focus. The person is likely very sociable and communicative, albeit a bit sharp and selfish. The person could really wrap others around their finger if necessary and take on attitudes that would serve the personal agenda. Alternatively, it could just be done to have some fun without anything more serious to it. When the person isn’t not actively socializing, personal interests and projects are the go to activity. There’s great drive to achieve and make things happen without any delay, not to mention the effortless ability to interact. This is really a combo of a rising star – energetic and self-focused enough to start things without asking for permission, mentally quick as to navigate around obstacles and learn new skills. The unpredictable Gemini temperament and the self-absorbed Arien identity would perhaps make other people uneasy. Emotionally the only need is to remain positively stimulated, which says a lot about the commitment capacity. If someone isn’t interesting, they’re of no value except as a conversation topic, a piece of gossip. Consciously, the person appreciates initiative and pioneering – and one can’t be seen being average, ever. The will has to be trusted and milked for all it’s worth. Unambitious and passive individuals make this person’s skin crawl, because they represent something that is in opposition with the personal ideal. It would be beneficial to tap into the Gemini capacity for disidentification and awareness of duality in order to be more accepting of that which is seen as “less than”. Instinctually, the person knows how to talk to anyone, to get the message across and build bridges between seemingly mutually exclusive perspectives. The person is likely a great problem solver and someone who can navigate difficult terrain. Also, there’s no lack of motivation, which definitely helps. On the downside, over-stimulation could make the person exhausted and angry easily. There’s no giving up in the first place, but this could drive the person overboard. Sometimes the most honorable thing to do is surrender.

Luz, Emira, and Edric
Clearly the twins gave Amity a lot of unnecessary flack themselves, but… I’m really loving the idea/concept of Emira and Edric ALSO being like her, having a mask they constantly put up, and it’s just less obvious because they’re seemingly more charming and confident, and their abuse manifests in different ways?
Again, we never see the twins interact with anyone outside of the family besides Luz… And Eda that one time, but that’s mostly because she’s already there, and even then their interactions are pretty minimal as-is. I imagine that as charming, flirty, and confident as the twins are, seemingly beholden to no rules…
…They’re actually really lonely? Like, Ed and Em are actually low-key insecure, or at the very least, they make a point to hide whatever ‘dork’ tendencies they have. I think it isn’t out of the question that Emira and Edric make a big deal of putting up the façade, the illusion of being confident twins who always know what they’re doing, who are too cool for school…
And, while they’re definitely not fans of school- I really love the idea that Luz has earned an implicit, yet powerful trust from them after Lost in Language??? Like she’s someone who’s willing to get into trouble and dumb antics with them, but at the same time, she’s an outsider who can tell whenever Ed and Em go too far with their sister. She’s someone who can make it clear to them that disregarding Amity’s personal rules and boundaries is NOT the same as, say, rebelling against their parents’ strict rules or against generic authority in general. Mostly…
I think of Luz as someone who the Blight kids can be comfortable around, all of them! She’s someone who doesn’t, and never judges. Around Luz, the Blight kids feel safe- Like they can drop the masks and façade and just be who they are, without fear of retribution, without fear of someone spreading the ‘truth’, without fear of anyone judging them or thinking lesser of them for it… I love the idea of Emira and Edric, these seemingly cooler twins and upperclassmen, allegedly out of Luz’s league… One day admitting to Luz that to THEM, she’s the one out of their league! That they’re amazed by her ability to just unapologetically be herself, out in the open, while Emira and Edric feel the need to hide that.
They’re still rebels in a sense, but in other ways the twins hide who they are, how they feel, because they don’t want to be seen as ‘soft’, because despite their best attempts the abuse of their parents DID really affect them! And I love the idea of Luz finding out after Lost in Language that the Blight kids all are actually really open in affection or would like to be, that they’d rather be down-to-earth… Adventures in the Elements was a different glimpse to ‘another side’ of the twins, in the sense that this was a more genuine part of them. It was how the Blight kids interacted with one another at home, whenever nobody was watching them…
After all, it IS the Knee, which is a pretty secluded location as-is, and the Blight kids didn’t expect anyone else to be there. The only ‘exception’ to this open trust is Eda, whom Amity clearly has some reservations towards… But while Ed and Em keep their interactions minimal, they’re also very open-minded to the Owl Lady’s ‘weirder’ ideas. Or at least, Edric is, but Emira is at least operating from a sense of safety rather than prejudice. They don’t bat an eye at Eda, probably because they’ve heard stories about her as someone who doesn’t care what others have to think, and it’s low-key inspiring to them… And they figure, if Eda doesn’t care what others think of her, maybe the same applies to how she thinks of others? LUZ seems to be open around the Owl Lady and trust her at least…
Plus, given how Odalia and Alador witnessed Eda’s first transformation, almost immediately after she rejected the Emperor’s Coven to its face- You can’t tell me they didn’t fill their kids’ heads with stories, ‘cautionary tales’ of Eda the Owl Lady, who defied the sacred will of the Titan by rejecting its messenger’s coven… And right on cue, was personally punished by the Isles itself by being transformed into a horrific owl creature! Knowing Ed and Em, they probably figured out that if their parents hated Eda THAT much, then Eda was actually a pretty cool person after all! There IS a lot of trust to the twins and Amity heading over to the Owl House during Enchanting Grom Fright, after all…
And while there’s no open interaction, Eda definitely appreciates their giant illusion of her! You can tell that through Luz, the Blight kids are getting to know and open up to Eda, or at least trust her to a degree because of Luz’s own opinion… And in turn, this lady is helping these kids find a home where they can be themselves, and maybe some other new connections and relationships along the way. Luz isn’t the only one who won’t judge, Eda is willing to let these kids be the goobers and doofuses they’ve always wanted to be, and it’s just sweet to me… Eda would trust these kids because that’s what Luz said, not to mention she likely knows how messed-up Odalia and Alador can be, as she may have interacted with them back at Hexside.
I can see her brushing it off as her trying to ‘stick it’ to Al and Odalia by getting their own kids away from them… But let’s be real, Eda’s mostly doing this just for the sake of the Blight kids, to give other people room to actually be themselves because she knows how much that means to them. And it’s touching to the Blight kids, to see an adult who’s seemingly closed-off, but provides so much more affection and unconditional love to them than their own parents ever did…!
But, back to Luz and the Twins- I think Luz would be very surprised to hear from them, be it implicitly or not, that they actually trust the girl… Because Luz is someone who was conditioned to under-value herself, to underestimate her own worth and importance to others. She’s pretty good at hiding it, but it’s still there, and it always blows her mind and makes her world when people openly tell her that she means a LOT to them!
I can just imagine a scene, where Emira and Edric show up to Luz, and Luz is excited, trying to play herself off as being really cool… And then they just swoop in for a mutual hug with her from both sides, because they’re really not feeling it, they’ve had a bad day and they just feel crummy… They really missed Luz and they want some emotional validation and affection for once, these kids are touch-starved even around each other! And Luz is just SURPRISED, that these out-of-her-league upperclassmen would choose to be so vulnerable with HER, of all people…
But then just as quickly, she takes it in stride and hugs them back. And then Luz and the Twins are silent like this for a long time, before Ed and Em choose to let Luz go, and without blinking or referencing what happened –unless they WANT to talk about it- Luz asks Emira and Edric how their days were, what antics they’d like to get up to, etc.! I love the concept of Ed and Em lowkey having self-loathing, wondering what anyone could see in the TRUE Emira and Edric… and then Luz just confidently reassures them, that they don’t need a mask to be so cool to her! And it’s both embarrassing and dazzling to the twins, that this girl seems so eager to impress THEM when it should be the other way around…!
And I can see Emira and Edric taking a LOT of cues from Luz, especially since she’s more of a rebel than they are, without being harsh to others- She’s an open criminal, she changed Bump’s mind on multi-track learning… She even managed to convert Lilith, their little sister’s former teacher and a contributor to her indoctrination, the Head of the Emperor’s Coven, to her side! Luz foiled a public petrification at the Conformatorium, personally overseen by the emperor himself- And wounded Belos!
I can imagine Emira and Edric maybe becoming insecure. Thinking Luz is too cool for them NOW, but she reassures them that’s never the case… Even as Luz inspires them to more openly defy the system in a different, more productive way. They’d probably follow Luz when it comes to a revolution, and convince Amity to do the same. They’re like Eda, in a sense- They learned to survive against some horrific abuse and indoctrination by becoming open rebels and troublemakers… But there was always that distance, that sense of loneliness, that feeling that they never accomplished anything and that their lives were wasted. That they could only ever be a nuisance to others, even if they weaponized and embraced this- And that deep down, there was an insecurity over who they were as they questioned if their own judgment was enough to say that they were lovable people.
But then comes Luz- And she tells Ed, Em, and Eda that they’re all great people. That their lives aren’t meaningless She tells them they ARE lovable people, but she’s also someone who can help rein them in, teach them a thing or two! And it’s so reassuring to actually learn from someone else, instead of having to figure it out all on your own… And maybe with Luz’s guidance, these E-named troublemakers CAN make a difference! That they can be even more than what they already were, and learn how to help other people when that was always something they wanted to do, but were never sure how to accomplish!
Especially since Eda, Emira, and Edric both share that situation of having a sister they’re concerned for, a sister who’s too indoctrinated into the Coven System, and a feeling of failure at not being able to lead that sibling down the right path… Messing around with that sister, but ultimately lamenting the loss of their sibling’s personhood. So how inspiring is it, then… That Lilith, who is Eda’s sister, Head of the Emperor’s Coven, and also one of the people who influenced Amity into this same indoctrination… Changed her mind, that with Luz’s help, Eda managed to rescue her own sister! Maybe it’s never too late… Or at least, Mittens is DEFINITELY less indoctrinated than Lilith was. So if Luz can help, then I can see the Twins being willing to openly beg for her help, and Luz just reassures them that they neither need to ask nor get on their knees- She WANTS the best for Amity!
Obviously that leads to the twins being the OG Lumity shippers, in-universe! Luz is just SO cool, they’d LOVE her as a part of the family, they love what she does for Amity and vice-versa, because Luz means the world to them and they know that Amity makes her happy- And it’s the least they can do for Luz given all of the stuff she’s done for them, to engage their little sister with her! Luz has GOT the siblings’ approval, all right! It’s the two people they care for most, Luz and Amity, being together and happy… So Emira and Edric want to contribute.
And while Ed and Em like to joke a lot about flirting with Luz, about thinking she’s cute, and all that stuff… Really, I don’t necessarily think they actually see her in that romantic light? Not that it’s entirely out of the question if that’s what Luz wants, because they love this girl and want to give her everything- But not only is she with Amity and the Twins are not letting ANYONE jeopardize that relationship, least of all themselves… In general, they’re just grateful for Luz? They’re not looking for any romantic relationship in her, not necessarily? They love her as-is. Luz is someone they can be open around, someone privy to the Blight kids’ more open and vulnerable moments…
Luz is like family to them, and not just in the in-law sense! Emira and Edric may joke about flirting with Luz, but I don’t think they actually see her like that… And no, it’s not just me making room for Lumity, Vinira, and Jedric, nor is it JUST me acknowledging the age-gap. In-universe, even if that’s another reason… I think Emira and Edric just see Luz not as a romantic interest, but as someone they’re already close to and open with. And it’s incredibly sweet to me, honestly… Like Luz is an adopted Blight, a little sibling in a sense! One Emira and Edric of course respect and provide autonomy for, and they’d never force this relationship on her… But in general, I do think Ed and Em see Luz as like a kind, younger sister! So obviously that would not only make a romantic relationship weird to them, even if all three got a bit older later in the future; But Luz is nevertheless someone that Emira and Edric want to take care of and vice-versa, in the familial sense! And I can see them being concerned of becoming too clingy to Luz… But honestly, Luz has no issues, and hey- She gets to be with Amity more!
Maybe Emira and Edric become convinced that they can only ‘hold onto’ Luz, or at least justify their relationship with her, through Amity’s romantic relationship with Luz… But Luz reassures the Twins that just as she’d always love Amity, even if Amity wasn’t romantically interested- The same goes for the Twins, that she cares for them as their own people, and NOT just as Amity’s older siblings! And to be seen, recognized, and loved for themselves as their own individuals, not defined solely by their familial relationships or status as Blights… It’d mean a lot to Emira and Edric, I feel.

BTS Tarot Reading ➝ What Kind Of Porn Do They Watch? (18+)
↳ NOTE - due to several requests, a steamy and detailed one. ☕️ we’re asking the cards about the erotica they fancy in a wider sense.
warning ⚠️ 18+ // bdsm mentions, worship, kinks left and right. we’re going graphic in all types o’ ways, lads.
♡ DISCLAIMER // tarot is speculative, there is no guarantee for accuracy. believing in the cards is a choice. all portrayals are fictive and for entertainment purposes only.
SPREAD #1:

yoongi
⌈ THE WORLD ⇁ Jesus... Someone’s obsessed with girls in the nude. That card has a stark naked woman wrapped in very little satin on it so you know what our funky little guy is up to. Luscious aesthetic fotos might be just around his corner. Big duh, he’s a photography major. These folks are all about body appreciation. He’s also on a personal vendetta against lingerie 😂 Yoongi won’t get hard looking at even the most HD panty and bra ads. Only the skin in its full splendor will do, no editing. He loves pictures of nipples peaking through shirt fabric, it’s all over his phone. Yoongi likes his gals without underwear 24/7 just like he dislikes underwear himself. If we’re talking porn, the woman on the card is holding two very long rods so may I connect the dots: Threesomes, handjobs, blowbangs, spitroasting. Friction, friction, and more friction. To Yoongi’s brain, handjobs are a great um new version of holding hands. Sex standing up also, keeping it vertical. Yoongi doesn’t care about girth, inches count. Nice and elongated with a perfect plunge, something to hold onto. Yep, he’s pretty deliberate when searching that up. Yes, he loves the look of it. However, and you’ll be surprised: Even if he likes poly porn, it’s still nothing too extreme. This card is more about pleasure than pain. If a guy likes rough and degrading sex, you get swords and wands in his spread. THE WORLD is more about perfected skills and success. So, he likes the more accomplished porn stars. With a preference for curly blondes and redheads, that’s sort of the hair color on the card. Natural B or C cup. Medium height, not too curvy. Oversized booty not needed. In terms of nationality: We have three representative animals on the card. Eagle, lion and bull, plus a light blonde man’s head. So, anything that America/Germany/Albania/Mexico/Namibia (and so on, lot of countries with eagles as their national bird my dude), England, Spain and Scandinavia have to offer. Honey sugar is going international, baby.

⌈ QUEEN OF WANDS ⇁ Did I just mention that guys who like rough sex in porn get wand cards in their readings in Yoongi’s segment? Well, there we have our candidate, with a very obvious card since it’s a court figure. Now, the thing is, this is not the guy being rough. The QUEEN OF WANDS is as notoriously femdom as can be. The very fiery and raw and fun version. So, with a degree of lightheartedness, but still being very fit — even buff — and hands-on with the sub. If you get the QUEEN OF SWORDS, that’s the more cool and calculated domme who signs you up for torture and humiliation, and she really looks like a domme. She’s all over the internet because she has the grit. Now wands combined with a tarot queen... it’s more about the stamina and she is approachable. Hobi does not like watching cruel girls, he likes challenging ones. Upbeat porn stars who can take a lot but most importantly dole it out assertively like pros are Hobi’s schtick. He’s unapologetic about that. With him it’s like, please not the local newcomers that turned legal a month ago. The queen cards are all about mature women. Mommy kink, hint hint. The kind of mommy who’s gonna whip out the spreader bar or cane (= wands again) and give a playful type of punishment. See how desert-like that imagery is, Hobi wants to sweat big time when he gets off to this. Now since wands also make for a damn good pole to dance on, go figure. This whole card has me wondering if, well alright, he is a Cardi B hard stan 😅 If Hobi blasts Money to get in the mood, I’d not be surprised. Anyway. Back to pole stuff: If you go through his youtube search history, you will find astounding things. I think he watches the more professional and athletic performers in competition though. High production value is key. Finally, an interesting card detail: There’s a sunflower on it. This is definitely his kind of tarot imagery.
jimin
⌈ KING OF COINS  ⇁ This card always looks like a scene from a medieval movie so you might have an erotic film enthusiast here. The more chaste type of genre, pentacles are very grounded and not hypersexualized. The intimacy is slow and more about security and pleasure. It’s graphic and detailed, but gives you a sense of relaxation. With a bit of romance in the plot, that might absolutely be Jimin’s thing. Castles and wine and nobility. Interesting type of erotica. Historical and classy. As expected of a prince, mind you. He might enjoy books of that genre also. And we know Jimin is an avid reader, right up there with Namjoon. Now, even with more risque and contemporary stuff that he googles up, we have similar dynamics going down on screen. With Hobi we had femdom because it’s a queen card, now with Jimin we get the classic male dom type of porn because that’s how the King usually rolls, unless it’s the KING OF CUPS who’s touchy-feely and subby. Meanwhile, the KING OF COINS is your local sugar daddy. Leaning towards being a soft dom, he’s not aggressive. And Jimin surely has a little crush on that concept. Ye know, if all the other members have female cards and Jimin gets the sugar daddy, we might be dealing with mxm action. Because if this card was a porn star, he’d be a really, really rich producer and a bear who’s done this since the frickin’ 90s. He’s treating his subs very gently and lets them sit on their lap, the imagery is sort of like that because the King is balancing a pentacle on his left thigh. Sex and comfort all in one are life for Jimin. A sexy detail I only noticed at a second glance, the King also has a shortened golden staff with him, which has a rounded tip. If that’s not a butt plug… whenever I see props like that in tarot, I interpret it as a sex toy. So, good vibes in here. And a bunch of aphrodisiacs, the KING OF COINS is a foodie. Which you know, might just be a food porn type of reference. Jimin’s taste in sexy things is quite something else.
jungkook
⌈ THE EMPRESS ⇁ If there’s one thing I like, it’s the Tarot giving me the important archetypes during readings of that kind. The Queens, the Kings, the Major arcana (see Yoongi’s and Jin’s segment). You can really draw a lot of hints out of it. Now with the EMPRESS you have a similar case to Hobi’s, just a lot more softcore. Jungkook has a refined and pretty vast taste in erotica, if not the most refined in Bangtan next to Jimin who likes that kind of dignified touch to it as well as we saw. Jungkook knows his stuff when it comes to searching things up, he is a first class netizen in that regard. In terms of genre: The EMPRESS is your highkey feminist and wholesomeness legend, so — you won’t find any super creepy things in some hidden file on his PC, and things by female producers instead. No slut-shaming or name-calling here, everyone gets their pleasure in their own right. Thanks to online sex ed, Jungkook has a map to the clit and he’s not afraid to use it. He’s the type to watch solo videos ad nauseam. He’s fascinated. Masturbation until it gets all messy with the juices flowing, and you bet he wants to see the girls buzzing themselves off lying on their back. Maybe even outdoors in a field. Cum play is a must, cunnilingus is a must, he loves unprotected sex and creampies, he loves breast massages. And yes. Anything that involves sex with pregnant and chubby women. Similar to Taehyung, it’s all about the focus on the girl, he doesn’t bother much with the guy performers. And given Yoongi’s reading on top of that, we have three members in BTS who are all about worshipping the female body right here, breasts over ass, and he likes blondes, too. The EMPRESS card is like… the entire porn industry who does the MILF and BBW genre is financed by Jeon Jungkook’s website subscriptions. Cue GOT7, with Jungkook it’s girls, girls, girls. The thirst is going strong, and he’s unashamed times ten, sex is sex.
➝ we also have members who don’t really bother with erotica or have a complicated relationship with it.

⌈  ACE OF WANDS reversed ⇁ He’s not about beating off until the world ends. Taehyung gets bored by porn or heated literature and doesn’t feel very motivated to search it up. He would rather come up with his own ideas to write but doesn’t have the energy. Sex drive: On hold, even if he tries to look something up it doesn’t feel very fulfilling to him. Most of it fails to turn him on, it’s not his kind of taste. He gets frustrated when he masturbates and would rather rest, dream, and doze. The only thing I can see him watch somewhat frequently — hold your horses — is lesbian porn. I’ll explain. The ACE OF WANDS is pretty much your most glaring handjob symbolism card. A hand gripping a stick. Yoongi’s THE WORLD card has very similar imagery, I mean even two wands and a girl, bisexual explosion much. He would be a big fan of the upright ACE OF WANDS card lmao! But the reversal is like, um no silly guys jerking off in here, pls. Keep your cum to yourself. That means: Zero dicks in Taehyung’s zone, girl-on-girl stuff is his very last resort for quality that he is desperate for but cannot find. And not the stuff where the producers just replace the guys with heavy arsenal sex toys, double-ended dildos, fucking machines, endless strap-on action without any clit stimulation on either side and whatnot. Taehyung is like ugh, cherie, why, give me the juicy stuff, give me the basics. What he wants is just pure scissoring, fingering, oral, little gentle bites, a lot of caresses and kisses. And slow, slow sex. Probably the amateur kind. He hates how brutal and exaggerated most things online are. Tae is looking for softness, a lot of lesbian action is what delivers in that regard so he takes all he gets. And it goes further than that, Taehyung knows the finest yuri recommendations, I’m telling you.
seokjin
⌈  THE STAR reverse ⇁ The opposite of Yoongi: not keeping it very naked in here. The upright card shows a nude woman pouring water from two cups. Hence a strong connection to the card of sexuality, TWO OF CUPS. Everything is very gentle and positive in that scenery. But then, the reversed card rather shows us that Jin doesn’t feel too thrilled watching other people film or write or photograph sex. Like in Tae’s case, he becomes bored, it’s all the same to him. Nothing’s ever new to him in porn. He feels negative and guilty rather than refreshed or entertained. He also doesn’t like a lot of kinks that very literally connect to, well, the pouring water. Squirting, cum play, watersports, sex in the pool or showers, lube overuse, creampies, bukkake, fake cum — Jin is rolling his eyes at that, he thinks it’s a circus. He’s surely given it a try, but ended up feeling worse and even more pent-up or dissatisfied. At best, you will find him on unknown websites looking for the most amateur videos there are. Because: THE STAR quite unequivocally hints at porn stars. If you reverse the card, it becomes someone not very well-known. He roots for the underdog. Accordingly, Jin’s reaction to mainstream videos goes this way: ‚Pipe down, you non-artists!’ 😆 Cause maybe, he does do it better aye, without the awkward angles anyway. He doesn’t want the body cult, like, put that airbrush and silicone out of my face bro. Not because he’s against surgery, but the idea behind sexual extremes and the shady high standards. It’s too polished for him to get turned on. And robotic/staged. Likely because he’s had an IRL sexual experience (gasp!) that set a different ideal to him, so the more glossy porn feels off. Home video has all he needs instead. I think it’s especially because you get so see more body hair there. The woman on the THE STAR card is all sleek, so the reversed card is the opposite, Jin wants that unshaved goodness.
namjoon
⌈ EIGHT OF CUPS ⇁ Now you’d think — and I thought, kinda — we’d get the master of erotica right here. And he’s had one hell of a reputation for that. Think of the ever-infamous Yaman TV interview where BTS were super upfront and revealing about their taste and what they watch privately. With especially Namjoon having the lion’s share. But this card says otherwise if his current state is concerned. The EIGHT OF CUPS shows a man wandering off into the night, leaving eight cups behind him. I think what that means is, he’s moved on. Namjoon’s cravings aren’t as strong as they used to be, nor does he have the time. He knows it won’t fix his loneliness or answer the questions of life. He might be on the search for different things to fulfill him, or ignore much of his hormones in favor for his career. Not that he didn’t dabble in it, he sure did, but that chapter is slowly closing and what’s next he doesn’t really know yet. He thinks about family and being a father, so the smaller and more risque pleasures become less significant. Desire, too. Ye olde soul syndrome is kicking in. The card is also centered around introspection, a quest for self, all these higher topics that aren’t the most grounded and don’t leave much space for being horny. Joon is simply to preoccupied and on the move. He sees porn as a distraction from his real self at this point, and he’s not the type to feel satiated after masturbating to something, similar to Jin and Taehyung. Instead, I think he carries that energy elsewhere, hence the wanderer going from A to B onto a mountain. In short, Namjoon naturally grew out of it by becoming more, well: Namjoon. He’s left a lot behind, he’s choosing self-development over temporary fun, and he will ponder a lot on the topic, the hows and whys and whats more often than not. So, he’s passed the baton to Yoongi and Jungkook if you will, and keeps a low profile as of now.

What would u do if u could change anything about anything in the series?
I’m gonna assume you’re talking about Hero’s Of Olympus, since I want to talk about it. Let’s start with the relationship each of the 7 had with one another/character dynamics.
Percy. We know who he is, we’ve met him before, we’ve lived through his adventure with him. He’s a shithead, we love this about him, but he’s also kind and loving. Percy would’ve made an effort to get along with everyone, to be friends and goof off to help everyone feel better. Which is why all of this shit Rick created with Jason being his Roman counter part and them being rivals, the two “macho men fighting for power to lead the pack” makes NO goddamn sense. And quite frankly smells HEAVY of toxic masculinity the entire series could’ve gone without. They would’ve been friends. Maybe not the best of friends because Jason has Leo but they would’ve been those two dumb jock friends and that narrative bettween them would’ve made the story so much more fun and interesting than pitting them against eachother.
Annabeth. The trope Rick created with Annabeth being a know it all, smartest person in the group is a disservice to her character and makes her shallow. She’s the daughter of a goddess of wisdom, wisdom recognizes intelligence when it sees it, and the fact that all Annabeth thought about Leo during the entire book was that he was annoying is VERY dumb. They could’ve had a really good friendship, two nerds playing off of one another’s intellect to create things that could benefit everyone on their journey. Or even Leo just convincing her to help him make stupid shit like a toaster that can toast eight pieces of bread at once. I would change how rigid Annabeth is, loosen her up just a little bit and make her friendship with Leo the type of thing where they constantly feed off of one another.
Piper. Her entire character arc revolved around being beautiful, being Native American, and Jason. Firstly, we’d have to throw away all the stereotypes and general horrible things that Mr. Rick Ross (read: Rick) did to her character. Like the whole feathers in her hair thing. There are better way to incorporate Piper being Native American, there were so many missed opportunities to intertwine Greek mythology and Native American beliefs. Secondly, in order to get rid of the. Frankly, shit, way Piper dealt with beauty is to first address the way the Aphrodite cabin as been treated through the entirety of the PJO universe. Instead of writing Aphrodite children like frilly little things that can’t stand to get their hands dirty and Piper being “not like other girls uwu”, I would’ve written them as deceptivly beautiful. Deceptive in the fact that no one expects them to be strong, cruel, to be able to hold their own. Knights you mistake for damsels in distress, and before you realize you’re wrong they’ve already defeated you. You can be strong and feminine, and femininity isn’t the only way to be beautiful, so I would’ve explored that too. And Pipers arc on beauty would’ve been different in the sense that she realizes she doesn’t have to like pink and glitter in order to be beautiful, and that even if she did like those things, that’s okay. Let girls be feminine without demonizing them for it.
Hazel. God Hazel was done so dirty. First, she’s thirteen, so no Frazle shit, jot that one down. Her and Frank being really good friends would’ve been so much better and allowed her to grow as a person without throwing her into some serious romantic relationship so young with someone so much older. I would’ve written Hazel as very cautious, specifically around her white friends. She comes from the 40’s of course she wouldn’t be buddy buddy with them immediately, and I think that would be a valid concept for the books to explore. And besides, her realizing later on that things really are different and times really have changed would be such a heartwarming thing to experience. Her breaking out of her shell and leaving that shit behind her to be unapologetically her. Actually exploring the racism and prejudice in the world instead of ignoring it and erasing the experiences of black people and black youth in this world is problematic and we won’t be doing that here smh. I wouldn’t make it the core of her character because that’s wack but it also wouldn’t be something that’s just never talked about. That being said, I would’ve made her relationship with Leo SO GREAT. They could’ve been dumbasses together running around the ship playing stupid games like hide and seek. Once again, instead of that romance shit, I would’ve built their friendship. Let the girl have fun, she’s 13 for gods sake.
Jason. The essence of his character was to be Percy Jackson’s Roman counterpart, which IS WACK. It made him VERY boring and one sided, so away with that! The Jason I had hopes for and wanted to see was, in simple words, a blond Himbo Jock!!! He loves his found family (Piper, Leo, and later the rest of the seven) and he PROTECT!! He and Percy would get in mock fights and wrestle sometimes because Percy says something very stupid and Jason simultaneously wants to laugh and shake him and he and Leo have the type of friendship where even the last few barriers come down and they are unapologetically themselves with one another. Jason learning that he doesn’t have to be a grown up and that he doesn’t have to have such a rigid sense of responsibility and that it’s okay to have fun sometimes, things Leo and Percy teach him. He grows into himself and realizes that he’s not JUST a son of Jupiter, and he doesn’t have to be a leader all the time. It’s okay to let go of the reins, and be stupid.
Frank. Rick made him... so forgettable. Firstly, the fatphobic blessing of Mars shit. We can hit next on that shit: the blessing of Mars but Frank goes from chubby to chubby with muscle because believe it or not a lot of fat people have muscles!! The arch with him wanting to be a child of Apollo is VERY interesting and something that should’ve been played up more within his arc until he realized he didn’t have to prove to anyone how manly he is, that you don’t HAVE to be aggressive and manly to be a child of Mars. Once again: Rick was on some toxic masculinity shit. Frank being okay with being a big teddy bear is enough for me. Also fuck the burning stick of life things stop putting a time limit on teenagers lives that’s bullshit. His relationship his Hazel was rushed and shallow, and quite frankly (ha) they should’ve just been friends.
Last but not least: Leo. Leo’s relationships with EVERYONE could’ve been better. He was treated as the comic relief, an annoyance, someone everyone could barely stand to be around, and instead of bettering his relationships with everyone Rick thought killing him off and then bringing him back with a love interest was the best thing to do. He was the treated as an emotional whipping board and then gave his life to save everyone on some sacrificial lamb shit which is a fucking cop out. In my head, Leo would’ve remained single, he would’ve felt like an outcast in the beginning, yes, but his friends would have actually noticed and reminded him that they value him as a person. I would’ve also built Leo’s arc so that he realizes the only validation he needs from anyone is himself, and that he wasn’t responsible for his mother’s death. I would’ve also written him realizing he has a support system amongst his friends, and he doesn’t need to overexert himself trying to fit because he’s already one of them. Leo has an inferiority complex and that was the core of him sacrificing himself, he felt like, if anyone, it would be him. He felt that he wasn’t as important as any of the other 7. He wouldn’t have died so other people could live, his life would’ve mattered to everyone including himself.

Getting To Know...
Sarah and the Safe Word.
Atlanta gothic pop/rock and roll band Sarah And The Safe Word have released their new EP, Red Hot & Holy. The lead single (and title track) was released on Sept 21, and offers up an ambitious combination of gothicism, dark pop, and hints of gospel. View the video below.
Sarah And The Safe Word introduce a wide variety of instruments in their twist on modern rock, including those such as violins and double keyboards, morphing together to create a dynamic listening experience. Red Hot & Holy is crucial to the band's continuous growth, offering up a tracklist of songs that are a full-fledged representation of exactly what they can offer as a 7-piece. Sarah And The Safe Word is cinematic, sensual, and simply put, talented.
She Makes Music was lucky enough to do a Q&A with the band discussing the new EP, their influences, advice they have for other queer/non-binary artist’s and more. Read the interview below.
This is the first time SMM has been introduced to Sarah and the Safe World so please tell us a little bit about your background. What brought the seven of you together and make you want to start this project?
Susy: “I got a random message on Fb from Kienan asking me if I wanted to play strings on the first album, Strange Doings In the Night. He got my info from a mutual friend and at first, I was unavailable since I was going to Mexico to see family. When I came back from my trip, I received another message from Kienan asking me if I was still interested and I said ‘yes.’ To me, it is absolutely wild that from the first time I met Kienan, I instantly knew we would be friends. The feeling was mutual when I first met Sarah too. I felt like they were old friends and we grew really close during the recording process. I was then asked to perform with them at the Masquerade, opening for Metro Station. I’ve never had so much fun on stage. I come from a classical background and it was a whole new animal to me, being on a stage that doesn’t force me to sit in a chair facing a music stand. Initially, I declined their offer twice to to join, because I am in school pursuing my music degree and my Mariachi band was constantly gigging. Luckily, I came to my senses and joined. The absolute best decision of my life.”
Sarah: “This band started as a solo project of mine - if you had told me three years ago that we would be a huge seven piece cabaret band, I would have never believed you. In retrospect, it was inevitable. The more we played shows and recorded, we all collectively realized what kind of band we wanted to be and where we wanted to take it. Some of the folks in this band began as just studio musicians on our record, and now they're my best friends. Kismet.”
Maddox: “I had been friends with at least Sarah and Kienan through the music scene in Atlanta for a little while. One day I saw a Facebook post looking for a last minute bass player for the Strange Doings release show. In a little over a week I learned the setlist and joined them at rehearsal and played the show, and I suppose I did well enough to be asked to join the band permanently. And though I didn’t play on it, I joined them in the studio to do gang vocals on several tracks of Strange Doings while they were recording it.”
Beth: “Kienan had auditioned me for a couple of other projects he was working on, and to be honest I didn’t do so well with those auditions. He and I had done some songwriting together, and he’s such a brilliant writer that I was determined to work with him. When SaTSW needed some piano for Strange Doings in the Night, Kienan reached out to me to see if I could come in to record ‘You’re the Sort of Man I Like’ and it wasn’t long after that Sarah and Kienan asked me to join the band officially. This group has made me a better musician and a better friend, and I am so lucky to be able to play music with some of the best musicians and best friends I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.”
Who or what has the biggest influence on your gothic/vaudeville rock sound and aesthetic?
Sarah: “I've always had a fascination with the cabaret and burlesque movement of the 1920s/30s. To me, cabaret was the original punk rock. It was about liberation, sexuality, and expression and tried to subvert the cultural ideals of the time. It's exciting for us as a band to reframe those concepts against a modern rock and roll backdrop, especially with a darker aesthetic. Back when I was a weird goth teenager, I always wanted to see a band dive into a sound like this completely. We got impatient and did it ourselves.”
Beth: “Growing up on piano, I’ve always had an affinity for jazz of the 1920’s-1940’s. I still listen to a lot of Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, B.B. King, Nina Simone, etc. They were the rock and roll artists of their time and laid the foundation for a lot of what we hear from the music industry today. I love dipping into that history to create a modern version of that big band/burlesque sound that pays respect to the artists that came before us.”
Maddox: “If you take my Apple Music account half of it is 20’s - 40’s music. Big band, cabaret, and jazz especially. Django Reinhardt, Ella Fitzgerald, and The Ink Spots are my favourites. Being able to add those influences to rock and roll is a huge thing for me. I love history and especially the roots of music we listen to today. Calling back to it in this band is incredibly special.”

You've just released your latest EP Red Hot and Holy. What's the story behind this record, and what do you hope fans will take away from it?
Sarah: “I want people to have as much fun listening to it as we did creating it. The world is a scary place right now, especially for marginalized people, and I hope that listening to this EP can take them on a little journey away from all of that - even if it's just for a little while.”
Maddox: “We set out to make a collection of songs that each stood out on their own and ended up making a record out of them. Each one is sort of designed to take listeners out of the real world for a moment. It’s all written to be fun and we had so much fun recording them. We hope listeners feel the same way and enjoy being taken out of the real world for just a few minutes with us.”
Beth: “Something we have always been vocal about is encouraging people to be themselves and to love themselves, and I think this record is a really great example of us embracing ourselves. It’s weird, it’s silly, and it really shows who we are as a group. I hope our music encourages people to embrace who they really are and to embrace the weird!”
How does Red Hot and Holy differ from your previous releases? How has your sound evolved?
Maddox: “It’s the first Safe Word record fully collaborated and written by all seven of us. So you can definitely pick each individual one of us out on it. Not to mention we found Aaron Pace who took our sound even further by just understanding us and also allowing our ridiculousness to not only have been included but he somehow made that better too.”
Sarah: “I've been telling people that RHH is the culmination of the seven of us finally realizing our potential as a creative unit. Everyone in the band is featured in some way on each song, and to me this is the strongest we've ever sounded. Working with our producer Aaron Pace was like finding our musical soulmate. He totally understood our band and captured our sound.”
Beth: “The biggest difference between Red Hot and Holy and past releases is that we all collaborated on every song. We took different writing tactics with each song, but each member had an influence on each song in some way. We really pushed ourselves to draw out the best in each of us, and we’re all really proud of how the EP turned out.”
Sarah and the Safe Word are advocates for promoting safety and inclusivity in all listeners, which is something we're also passionate about here at SMM. Please tell us more about why this is so important to you.
Maddox: “As a transgender man in this scary political and social climate, I cling to my friends and bandmates for support. We’re all over the spectrum in this band. We’ve experienced so much individually and as a band. It’s so important to share these stories and experiences and bring them to an audience definitely made up of people like us and perhaps not. We want everyone to feel safe and represented at our shows. As a transgender person afforded the gift of having some sort of platform it would be ridiculous to me to not reach out and give back and let everyone know they’re valued and loved.”
Sarah: “As a band with several transgender, nonbinary and POC members, we've lived through feeling alienated within the music scene. To me, if you're lucky enough to play music in front of a receptive audience, you have an obligation to make sure they feel safe and accepted in return.”
Beth: “There are a lot of scary things happening in our country and across the world right now. It’s easy to get caught up in all of it, but the best thing we can do for each other right now is love each other. We’ve all been through our own personal trauma and unfortunately our stories are not unique. We are all stronger and safer when we stand together in love and support.”
What advice do you have for other queer and non-binary artists wanting to get into the music industry?
Maddox: “Play music. Just get out there and play.”
Sarah: “Live unapologetically. Don't let the music scene relegate you to a basement just because you're a queer musician. If there isn't a lane for you, make one. If the scene doesn't acknowledge your talent, make it so it's undeniable. Be kind to people who support you and lift up the kids coming up behind you. Don’t let anyone tell you what to write about - just speak your truth. There isn't a band in history who hasn’t gone through a rough patch or faced adversity. Stick with and believe in your craft through those times and don't give up - that's what makes you stand out. If you wish there was a band out there who did this or that, don't wait for it. Make it.”
Finally, what's next for Sarah and the Safe Word?
Sarah: “ I plan to rule the former United States of America as their Dark Empress and undying God Queen. I accept tributes of blood and gold. Pledge your allegiance to me and you will be spared. Also, it’d be fun to tour the west coast.”
Maddox: “Keep writing songs. Keep touring. Support our Dark Empress. Hopefully get to go overseas or to the west coast soon. The usual.”
Beth: “We have plans to write, tour, and bring the Dark Empress her asparagus water. I would love to get to Europe and tour, too.”

More serious questions. Why do you care about progressive content in kid's cartoons? Are there any negative outcomes of teaching kids about LGBT themes? Why shouldn't media strive to be more inclusive to minority voices (black, gay, muslim, asian, etc.)? Does the inclusive of LGBT themes make you personally uncomfortable? If so, why?
Well, these are a lot of questions, so I’ll answer as many of them as I can before I get bored, out of the ones that aren’t just thinly veiled personal attacks with a question mark at the end (P.S you’re retarded).
I don’t think there should be any sorts of controversial themes in children’s shows of any sort, progressive or not. Even when done with good intent, trying to brainwash children via mass media is not only inherently immoral, but potentially dangerous. There are multiple prongs to this -
Firstly, there are still religious people in this country, like it or not. To them homosexuality is a sin and will end with their children’s damnation and the wrath of god. I personally don’t agree with this position, but if that’s their sincerely held belief, I don’t think it’s fair to them (or anyone else who doesn’t like these themes) to force them to not allow their kids to watch TV because someone might be trying to instill values in them that they disagree with. You could say it’s their responsibility to monitor what their children watch, and you’d be partially right, but I think that the people who say that don’t actually believe it, and if the tables were turned and some massive cultural shift happened that ended with every children’s cartoon preaching religious ideology, they’d all be screaming to high heaven about who that shouldn’t be allowed.
Secondly, it normalized using television to brainwash kids. The only thing preventing things like this and, for example, political violence, from becoming commonplace, is a mutual understanding by both sides that they are both capable of this. Again, you’re alright with this happening now because it’s people you agree with that are going this, but imagine 10 years from now there being a massive red wave and every cartoon studio becoming headed by hardline GOP voters. The only thing stopping them from rebooting SU as “Kill all faggot universe” is an uneasy truce wherein both they and the dems understand that trying to force your views onto kids en-mass using cartoons is wrong and no one did it first. But you let this continue the way that it is, and soon enough, they’ll be able to say “They did it first so it’s okay for us to do it”, and they’d be right. And then where will you be? A world where children’s television is an unapologetic indoctrination tool. It’s best to just accept that doing this is fundamentally immoral and avoid it altogether.
If you want to be more “inclusive”, that’s fine. I don’t think it’ll achieve anything, but there’s no harm in it either. Just don’t be “Inclusive” of things you know a large portion of the parents of the children watching don’t want you teaching their kids, especially if your target demo is at an age where they still can’t think critically and will soak up anything you tell them like a sponge (which I assume is the intent). if you’re making kid’s cartoons, stick to non-controversial topics. If you want to talk about race relations in the US, go write for a live action drama (not that any of these people could because they’re all immature and have no talent).
Also, it’s worth noting, that when I go look at the twitter feeds of some of these creators and see them posting about hating entire demographics, it’s hard not to come to the conclusion that they aren’t so much adding minority characters because they love minorities, but out of spite for people who they think will be angry at it. That doesn’t detract from the shows themselves, but it’s good to keep in mind that these cartoon are being made by a bunch of hilariously stupid invalids.
Finally, as to is doing harm, I don’t think there’s much harm in having gay characters (although, again you should probably keep them in shows targeted at least at kids 13 and up), but there actually might be real world harm in tranny characters.
Pretty much every study I’ve read on the topic found that somewhere in the ballpark of 90% of kids who think they are trans at childhood grow out of it by adulthood. It’s important to remember that surgeries and the effects of hormones are often irreversible and severely heighten the risk of cancer. Children are also impressionable. If you’ve ever heard of the satanic daycare scandal you’ll know that there are, to this day, mentally ill adults who still think they were kidnapped by a cult as children because a bunch of idiots convinced them of it. Now, with there being a push for using sex changes as the first option for any kids who says they’re trans, imagine being someone who permanently disfigured themselves, cut off their dick and gave themselves leukemia, because they said they were trans when they were six years old after a cartoon told them trans people were cool and the doctors just rushed them into surgery instead of therapy (or just ignored them).
If you really want to put trans issues into cartoons you should do it responsibly and aim it at older demographics. Although, I would hold off on it altogether because, considering how stupid and crazy most of these cartoonists are, I would not trust them to do anything responsibly.

Uhhh, uhhh, uhh??? Hello. There. I, uh, I'm sorry im so bad at introducing myself, but I wanted to ask you about something?? Your fanfiction, Somewhere Along in the Bitterness, is absolutely stunning, and I would love to send you some shitty fanart™ I've done of it. (P.S I really like the fanfic but if you could elaborate on Eridans Quadrants like his moirailship with Tavros and his Matesprilligance (haha see what I did there) with Dirk, I would actually die) also I dont know how to send fanart
Thank you!!! I would love whatever fanart you’ve created!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’d make me absolutely delighted!!!!!!!!!!!
You can make a post and @ me in it, submit it to me here on tumblr, just in any method put it in a post and I would Love You Forever.
And so okay! Eridan and Dirk are dating in flush(+ pale) in small part because they’re both lonely and crave a romantic connection, and in large part because the two of them, from how I understand them, are pretty similar. They both have the ability to look inside themselves and see something that is ugly. They are messes of wants and ambition and drive and self loathing knotted up in self destruction and I think they’d just really, really find a connection. Roxy and Feferi, beautiful and wonderful as they are, willfully ignored some of the things about Eridan and Dirk that were hard, and cruel, and ugly, and while there’s no question that they loved them that didn’t actually help. More than that, I think it resulted in Dirk and Eridan looking at the world and going “this is something about myself that I must hide for my own social well-being and the good of those around me” and whether or not  that was a conscious decision it still happened. With each other there’d be an understanding of “obviously I’m not going to act on these ugly emotions inside me but I still have them” and they could be honest with each other and understand where they’re coming from. That, and I firmly believe they would be very physically attracted to each other.
Tavros and Eridan I ship pale bc I think it’d make the two of them happy, ngl. Tavros likes faeries, Eridan likes wizards and magic, Tavros is a pretty stubborn person considering literally everything he’s been through and would defo be able to get Eridan to chill tf out and have some goddamned fun with magic. Tavros is such a GENUINE person you know? I think seeing him being unapologetically himself, enjoying the things he likes without shame, would be an example to Eridan to take that stick out of himself and just have fun for a little while. And while Tavros is remarkably stubborn on some matters he’s… remarkably easy to take advantage of, too, and is actually really bad at standing up for himself even when he’s trying his hardest, and thinks pretty poorly of himself, so I feel like he could use some absolutely OSTENTATIOUS displays of affection which you mf KNOW Eridan would do. Shows up on a flying seahorse in period clothing with a giant ass bouquet of pink roses and white alstroemerias before whisking him off to (neverland) dinner at a fancy ass place. Like. Tavros DESERVES it okay. Someone lavish that boy with affection and someone give Eridan an outlet for all his over-the-top displays. That boy has chilled out exactly 0 days in his life so he might as well use that towards making Tavros feel really fuckin flattered. Also like. Look me in the eye and tell me that if Tavros papped your face and told you that it was time to reign it in a little, you wouldn’t begrudgingly deflate. That is not a boy you can say no to. Moirallegience is based on a foundation of trust and a willingness to listen to each other, to believe that your partner is acting in your best interest, and Eridan would allow himself to be pacified by this beautiful, grinning boy. And Tavros would receive protection from this trigger-happy, aggressive fool, bc he deserves to be protected and valued and loved.
So yeah, that’s my reasoning on EriDirk and EriTav. Disasters who understand each other and good boys who deserve happiness.

harry potter au.
name. levi ackerman house. slytherin wand. pine and phoenix feather, 10 inches, reasonably supple blood status. half-blood patronus. has a difficult time producing a corporeal patronus, but it would be a peregrine falcon.
summary / au-specific tidbits.
grew up in muggle france but moved back to britain with kenny when he was ten; attended hogwarts; is bilingual, but consciously speaks with a british accent rather than a french one, though the french may slip through if he isn’t paying attention.
(note, though, that i can play a slight alternate where he attends beauxbatons, either transferring to hogwarts halfway through his schooling or remaining in france until after he graduates.)
was in the order of the phoenix for both the first and second wars.
powerful wizard and incredibly skilled duelist. excelled at defense against the dark arts. prefers a wand but can perform wandless magic.
also a wonderful flier. never joined a quidditch team but often flew around the pitch on his own. flying calms him. is notable for being able to aim remarkably well while flying, so can essentially duel from a broomstick.
comes from a family of purebloods (his father is an unknown muggle), but not a blood purist.
knows some dark magic and isn’t morally against using it if he deems it necessary to achieve greater ends, but doesn’t often, aware of the stigma against it
wand analysis.
pine.
The straight-grained pine wand always chooses an independent, individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively, and unlike some others, will adapt unprotestingly to new methods and spells. Many wandmakers insist that pine wands are able to detect, and perform best for, owners who are destined for long lives, and I can confirm this in as much as I have never personally known the master of a pine wand to die young. The pine wand is one of those that is most sensitive to non-verbal magic.
phoenix feather.
This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike.
Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won.
a pine’s owner tends to be an independent loner, which clearly works for levi, and its penchant for creativity and adaptability is representative of levi’s own resourceful ability to adapt quickly to new situations. he has been known to modify his spells in ways that make them either more powerful or more effective in certain circumstances, and his pine wand reacts well to it. as for the rumor that pine owners live long lives, well, levi considers that to be bitterly ironic, as he doesn’t expect to live long at all, but then, the fact that he seems to keep on surviving while the people around him die might belie that.
as for the phoenix feather, levi is well-represented in the phoenix: an intensely powerful and independent creature whose loyalty, when won, is invaluable, but whose trust takes a great deal to earn. levi is not easily tamed, and he, too, has a tendency to act of his own accord when he believes it necessary, defying orders if need be, so it’s fitting that his wand has the potential for the same.
house analysis.
first, let me discuss why i didn’t place him in any other houses, because i’ve seen people headcanon pretty much all of them for levi.
hufflepuff: i guess he gets this one because he’s loyal and cares about protecting people? but slytherins are also loyal and care about protecting people - and levi simply doesn’t have the temperament of a hufflepuff. despite his protectiveness and good intentions, he doesn’t project patience or kindness (those qualities exist, but they aren’t on display), he isn’t team- or family-oriented, he doesn’t care about avoiding conflict, and he doesn’t have the affinity for nature, food, etc that hufflepuffs often have. to be blunt, y’all, he’s not a good enough person for hufflepuff.
ravenclaw: this one i understand, because levi is very intelligent, and he does care about honesty and truth, and he is innovative. but levi’s intelligence is very practical and in-the-moment; he doesn’t really care about academia for academia’s sake. he values learning for the sake of putting it to use more than for its own merits. he’s not the kind of free-thinker ravenclaws often are. his cleverness is more slytherin than ravenclaw.
gryffindor. yes, levi cares about a cause. yes, levi can be noble. but here’s the thing: gryffindors tend to have a strong moral code and stick to it; they have a clear idea of what a just world is and try their hardest to achieve it. levi sees the world in shades of grey, without a clear good and evil. his morality is much more flexible and individualistic; a gryffindor would frown upon levi’s machiavellian does-whatever-is-necessary-to-achieve-his-ends philosophy. levi also doesn’t care about glory and isn’t as social as gryffindors tend to be. frankly, though he can be friends with gryffindors individually (isabel is a gryffindor), as a whole they’re more likely to tire and frustrate him. (to be quite honest with you, it baffles me to see people draw/sort levi as a gryffindor. he’d be so annoyed if he had to be around gryffindors all the time??? let him Rest????)
slytherin. slytherins can be very loyal, but this loyalty tends to be conditional to their in-group. they aren’t highly social, but they do protect their groups, their families, to a fault. this mirrors levi’s brand of loyalty: he’ll only attach himself to a person, like erwin, who has proven themselves to him, and while he’s very individual, he’s protective of the small groups that may form around him.
he’s both cunning and underhanded - his ability to think on the spot and adapt to situations plus his willingness to play dirty to get what he wants would offend a gryffindor, as would his belief that unpleasant methods can be justified by a necessary result. he doesn’t see the world as divided into good and evil, but rather into groups of people who’ve had to make choices; his grey view of the world, plus his ability to read people and guess the motivations behind their choices, strike me as more slytherin than anything else.
now, one thing that isn’t very slytherin of him is his tendency towards blunt honesty; he might flatly refuse to practice the deceit another slytherin might say is wiser or more necessary. levi is underhanded, but openly so - he’ll do whatever he needs to to get his way, but he’ll tell you that upfront. he isn’t manipulative in the way erwin is, in that his manipulations are, while effective, also transparent. in fact, some might accuse his style of blunt intimidation of being unpleasantly gryffindor - an insult among slytherins, who see discreet manipulation and finesse as far more valuable than physical intimidation, when getting one’s way. (levi, of course, ignores these jabs and continues on anyway.)
i suppose the whole slytherins are evil thing needs to be addressed. obviously slytherins aren’t evil, not as a whole, and levi certainly isn’t. (he isn’t the exception here; there are plenty of slytherins with their hearts in the right place.) but he also isn’t concerned with being seen as a good person - he’d like to be a good person, if he can, but whether others think of him that way is less important. he does want to be seen as a competent person, and recognized for his skills, but the fact is that he’s rude, he’s crass, he’s broody, and he’s unapologetic about it. so while his compassion belies the heartless slytherins stereotype other houses love to indulge in, his general antisocial nature doesn’t do the house image many favors.
he also, as noted, cares for gaining knowledge so it can be used, rather than for its own sake; hange, a definite ravenclaw (imo), might want to study something just to see what it does, while levi is looking for ways to put that knowledge to use in his favor. (he’s constantly doing this, actually, observing the world around him and filing away any knowledge that might prove useful in the future, as a survival mechanism.) that’s very slytherin, as is his pragmatism in how to use what he discovers. i also think that the kind of adaptability and self-preservation instincts levi possesses and cultivates are pretty slytherin - slytherins are probably the best out of any house at constantly observing, evaluating, and adapting to the situation around them
history.
(note that anything during his school years and after is flexible, depending on      plotting; consider this the default.)
the ackermans were, once, a prominent pureblood family, renowned for producing wizards of great power. at some point in the past, however - before grindelwald’s rise, but continuing into it - they fell out of favor in the pureblood community when prominent members of the family refused to support the increasing demand for subjugation of muggles and muggleborns. labeled blood-traitors, the ackermans lost their positions of power (discreetly dismissed from the wizengamot, forced out of government seats), and there were those, especially in the fervor of grindelwald’s propaganda, who even actively persecuted the members of the ackerman family, hunting them down until there were few left.
kuchel ackerman, a young woman and competent, if not particularly powerful, witch, fled to france in the late 1950s with her infant son levi to escape such persecution, hoping that disappearing into the muggle world on the continent would keep her son safe. she didn’t dare to use magic lest it give her away, but her lack of muggle knowledge or muggle qualifications made finding and keeping a job difficult, so she and levi lived in poverty. nevertheless, she raised him as best she could, until, when levi was seven years old, she grew very ill and died.
her brother, kenny ackerman, had meanwhile found other ways of avoiding persecution. in his youth, angry at the rest of pureblood society, kenny had secretly murdered several purebloods, with such skill and stealth that he’d never been caught. that ended, however, when he attempted to murder uri reiss, a powerful wizard - uri caught him, but rather than having kenny punished, struck a deal with him: kenny would be uri’s right hand man, lending uri his immense magical skill, and in turn kenny would be under the reiss family’s protection. this deal lasted for almost a decade - until uri died, and his successor had no such kindness for kenny; he cast kenny out of his household, threatening to reveal kenny’s past murders to the public, and kenny was forced into hiding.
he went to france, thinking to find his sister, whom he hadn’t seen in many years, but when his search led him to a rundown tenement, he found only a scrawny, half-starved child hunkered down in the dirt. unaware that his sister had ever had a child, assuming that this boy was nothing but a squatter, kenny almost left - until the boy looked up and saw him, and kenny was blasted backwards with a force that made the rotting foundation shake.
the boy’s posture hadn’t changed - he still huddled on the ground, his knees drawn up to his chin - but the force was clearly magic, and powerful magic at that. so kenny investigated, and wrung the story of his mother’s life and death out of levi. kenny decided to stay and look after his nephew, though he never revealed to levi that they were related, introducing himself only as a family friend.
levi’s magic was powerful but dangerously uncontrolled; the burn marks on his hands proved that it had already hurt him at least once. kenny taught him to harness and control his magic. levi didn’t of course have his own wand and kenny refused to give him his, but he taught levi the basics of wandless magic, as well as how to open his senses to other people’s magic and focus his intent. but that wasn’t all -- kenny also taught levi to survive in a magicless world, to fight with both fists and blade, to steal, to observe, to trust his own strength. it was the only way he knew how to raise a child: teach him to survive, whatever it takes.
when levi was ten, they moved back to britain, and kenny started disappearing for a few days at a time, never explaining his errands to levi. the summer after levi’s eleventh birthday, he got his hogwarts letter. (this was, incidentally, the first time levi saw his last name; neither kuchel nor kenny had ever told him, so at first he thought the letter addressed to mr l ackerman was a mistake.) kenny wouldn’t go with him to diagon alley, so levi went alone with the money he had saved up and bought himself as much as he could from his list. when he returned home, robes and new wand in hand, kenny wasn’t there. levi assumed he was off on another errand, or testing levi in some way, but when kenny still hadn’t returned by september first, it was left to levi to find his way to king’s cross alone.
at hogwarts, he was sorted into slytherin, but showed little interest in the forming of alliances that quickly began amongst other slytherin first-years. in fact, he ignored both friendly and unfriendly advances from his housemates, some of whom thought him easy prey because of both his size and his last name. but when one would-be bully ended up in the hospital wing with a broken wrist after a confrontation with levi, he was left mostly alone.
the truth was that levi had no idea how to make friends, how to even try, and he couldn’t help but size up everyone around him as a potential threat; years under kenny’s tutelage had ingrained him with suspicion. his main goal was simply to avoid being bothered, and he focused more on his classes than his classmates. he quickly proved himself an intimidatingly skilled wizard: he excelled especially at defense against the dark arts, with charms as a close second. he also discovered, during their first flying lesson, an immediate love of flying, and though he never joined a quidditch team, he would often sneak out to the quidditch pitch at night, pick the broomshed lock, and steal a broom to fly until he felt calm.
when levi went home for the winter holidays, kenny wasn’t there, and obviously hadn’t been there in quite some time. rather than tell anyone, however, levi resigned himself to living alone; the small amount of wizarding money he possessed was useless here, but he could steal and forage for what he needed, and that’s what he continued to do throughout his years at school. it was an odd sort of double life, spending most of the year in comfort if not joy, and then returning to the muggle world over the summer to live alone as just another kid on the muggle streets.
he didn’t make his first real friend until farlan church, a charismatic ravenclaw, partnered himself with levi on a project and hadn’t left him alone since. levi resisted farlan’s attempts at friendship at first, but eventually relented; farlan was clever and humorous, but also perceptive and level-headed, and never seemed to mind levi’s dour attitude or black humor. in time the duo became three when levi stepped in to protect isabel magnolia, a younger gryffindor, from a gang of students she’d managed to offend. isabel attached herself to levi, calling him her big brother - a move that garnered both laughter and anger from other students, in a time when, as death eater attacks were becoming more common outside hogwarts’ walls, befriending slytherins was becoming increasingly taboo.
by the time levi and farlan graduated, the three were an inseparable trio. farlan and levi moved in together, and isabel began joining them over breaks rather than going home to the orphanage. though war had broken out in the wizarding world, levi had no desire to take part; all he cared about was keeping his head down and sticking with the people he’d begun to think of as his family.
but the luxury of remaining uninvolved didn’t last long. it wasn’t long after isabel’s graduation. there was a death eater attack. farlan and isabel (a half-blood and a muggle-born respectively) were killed, and levi - levi who had gone out, levi who had left instead of staying home like isabel had asked him to - arrived only in time to see the bodies fall, lit by the curses from within.
he snapped. by the time members of the order of the phoenix arrived in pursuit of the death eaters, what they found instead was levi, blood-spattered in the middle of a ring of carnage, wizards falling around him, the crackle of his magic in the air. one of the order members, erwin smith, a hogwarts graduate some years above levi, already knew of levi and his dueling skills, and it was he who approached levi and convinced him to join in the order, to fight for revenge against the people responsible for isabel and farlan’s death.
so levi joined. as one would expect, he made few friends in the order, at least at first - he was a slytherin, for one thing, and utterly uninterested in working with the rest of the order. angry, antisocial, he tended towards solo missions, convinced anyone else would get in his way, and it was a long time before he learned to work with others. in fact, when suspicions of a spy within the order came out, there were more than a few fingers pointed levi’s way. but erwin vouched for him, and dumbledore trusted him, and it became clear soon enough that whatever else levi was, he was dedicated to saving lives, and the amount of times he protected his fellow order members and civilians alike from death eaters was undeniable. some said that he was the reason the order hung on as long as it did, even fighting a losing battle.
eventually, though, the battle ended. they won, not through levi’s skill or erwin’s planning, but through little more than luck, or so it seemed - one baby’s inability to die. and just like that there was no more fighting to be done. levi was left to figure out how to live in a world at peace - until, of course, a new war came along, and a new generation to fight alongside.
(this is where the timeline gets especially flexible. what does levi do in the intervening years between the wars? whatever works best for the thread, really. some options are these:
dragged along by erwin and hange, who both become professors at hogwarts after the war, levi becomes the flying instructor and head of the dueling club. he isn’t exactly a personable teacher, but he’s a formidable and respected figure, and legends run rampant about his deeds during the war. some students dislike or fear him, while others hope to impress him, and others still have seen the kindness he shows to young students who need a listening ear.
though he refuses to actually work in the ministry, and turns down offers to join the auror program, he does consent to help the aurors hunt down death eaters who fled after voldemort’s fall. once that’s done, he - sticks around, call him a freelancer, there are aurors he knows who were in the order, and he helps them, tracks down dangerous criminals, steps in when his skills are needed. he’s still not ministry, though. shut up.
it’s hard, adjusting to peace. it’s hard, trying to live a quiet life when his body seems trained to expect disaster. but damn it, levi’s going to try. he’s earned that. he owns a tea shop in hogsmeade, a tidy little place. he doesn’t make a fuss, and only a few people think to the connection between levi the tea proprietor and the levi ackerman who killed so many death eaters during the war. but his instincts never go away, and neither do the nightmares.
when voldemort returns, levi isn’t surprised. the world’s a shitty place, after all, and it’s too much to expect that evil dark lords will just stay dead. it sucks, but in some ways it’s almost a relief, rejoining the order, taking up the fight - because this, in the end, feels like it’s all he was ever meant to do. he was made for war; let war take him.

The Advice I Wish I Were Given Before Venturing Out into the Real World Pt. 1
#1. Don’t let others tell you how to think, feel, or act. Living too closely to another person’s standards causes one to lose themselves in the process. Be unapologetically yourself and always stick up for what you believe in.
#2. I don’t care how in love you think you are right now, your high school sweetheart probably isn’t going to last more than a few years. Stop banking on your relationship being forever. You have all of your life to figure it out.
#3. Nobody can or should ruin anything for you. It doesn’t matter if the song that you love is the one your best friend used to love before you grew apart, or that that movie was one that you watched a thousand times with your ex before they turned out to be a trash person. If you love something, OWN IT.
#4. Do the things that scare you. If it makes your hair stand on end, or your palms sweat, get out there and do it. Memories are made by doing the things that you enjoy, and you’ll never know about all of the things that you enjoy without some trial and error first.
#5. Stay away from toxic people and know when to let go. Time moves by much more quickly in the real world and if you don’t keep an eye out, you’ll find yourself with years down the drain from spending too much time with a person who could never truly value you.
#6. Love yourself first. Spoil yourself. Fight that lingering doubt in your mind until you can feel comfortable in your own skin. Most people will never know what it’s like to truly love themselves.
#7. Keep an eye on your bank account. I’m serious. Don’t max out your credit cards, remember to make your payments on time, and please, keep an eye on your credit score. Otherwise, you’ll never know anything until you really need it.
#8. Stay on top of things. Keep your house clean and your work done and you’ll find the natural happiness that comes from it.
#9. Don’t sweat the little things. It may not feel so little now, but that thing that you’re crying about today won’t matter to you a year from now.

BTS Hogwarts!AU
Okay so this is going to be an idea dump, I don’t actually have any fics in mind for this (or at least none yet but who knows). Basically, I’ve seen a couple of hogwarts houses castings for the BTS boys and I wanted to do one of my own with my reasons for each casting. These are - of course - just my personal opinions. Hope you guys enjoy! Disclaimer: I’m doing this on mobile so i’ll prolly have to go back and edit it a bit later if it seems weird. You all know what a bitch mobile is :/ - Jin: Gryffindor. I think a lot of people tend to create these one-dimensional ideas for idols in their heads (not on purpose or anything but it happens) and Jin is certainly a HUGE victim of this trend. A lot of people tend to oversimplify him as sweet and kind and motherly - which he can be. But Jin can also be kind of a dick, which I fucking love. He doesn’t actually take any shit from anyone and that doesn’t at all take away from how kind and good a person he is or how much he cares for others. He’s just kinda an asshole as well. Jin is bold and confident and also chivalrous. Kind and good, but can be an ass too. Way too into himself for his own good and also sometimes overcompensates. - Yoongi: Hufflepuff. Yoongi is usually put in Slytherin and I totally get that: cunning, ambitious, resourceful. But when I was brushing up on the core values of each house, I read literally the opening description of Hufflepuff and if that didn’t scream the real Yoongi to me idk what did. “Hufflepuff values hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play.” He fudges a bit on the fair play (cheating lil shit), but everything else makes so, so much sense to me. I think he’d be a Hufflepuff, but one of the ones people see as an outlier; like the sorting doesn’t seem to make any sense until you actually get to know him and then it makes all the sense in the entire world. - Hoseok: Slytherin. This one took me a while to decide on, actually and i’ll explain why. I think Hobi can be a lot of things. Like he could 100% be a Hufflepuff and that’s where he is most often sorted. But also he’d actually make a really good Slytherin and he’d make a good Gryffindor, too, and you could even make an argument for him being in Ravenclaw. He has qualities that pertain to every house and qualities that contradict every house, too. I think Hobi would be one of those people who gets sorted into a house because he WANTS to be there because he could be good in any house. I was caught between Hufflepuff and Slytherin mostly. In the end I went with Slytherin because the concept of Hoseok in that house fascinates me. He’s also another victim of people shoehorning him into one dimension/idea. Yeah, Hobi is literal sunshine and loud and goofy and cheerful, but his members have also often said that he’s vicious and you don’t want to mess with him or catch him when he’s in a mood because he’ll whip your ass. Hoseok is pretty freaking bullheaded af and he’s definitely ambitious. - Namjoon: Ravenclaw. You could make a really great argument for him being a Gryffindor, but I’m going to have to stick with the quintessential casting of him as a Ravenclaw. I think Namjoon is driven by seeking knowledge and he’s just very much one of those people who is super a model of what their house represents. He also seems very much like a person who goes through life breaking things down into problems and solutions and we all know he spends most of his time on twitter philosophizing about life, etc. - Jimin: Slytherin. Jimin is another one who kind of can have an argument made to place him in almost all the houses (excluding Ravenclaw, imo, I just don’t think it fits him). However, I actually think he would be Slytherin more than anything else. Jimin super dedicated to his craft and he fights for it. He’s such a hard working and he’s ambitious as all hell and he’s always fighting to improve himself. Jimin just has this strong, unbendable resolve to always be better and strive for perfection that I think would be so well-honed in Slytherin. - Taehyung: Gryffindor. Gryffindor all the way. Loud, brash, bold, unapologetic. Taehyung isn’t afraid at all to take leaps and chances. I’ve seen a lot of people sort him into Hufflepuff as well, but I kind of think he’d be a Gryffindor. He’d be the really weird kid in Gryffindor tho, but not the one you would question as to why he’s there in the first place. - Jungkook: Ravenclaw. Okay, okay, I know this one seems super out of left field. People usually cast him as Gryffindor or Slytherin (both of which I get), but I think he’d be such a great Ravenclaw and hear me out. So there’s this basic idea/theory that the Sorting Hat either sorts you based on qualities you have or qualities you admire and strive for. Ravenclaw’s core essentials are wit and knowledge and intelligence. People are always up his ass about how he isn’t good at math, but Jungkook is smarter than hell and he obviously admires that trait highly. He admires the hell out of Namjoon for his intelligence. He’s also super witty, another trait he highly admires. It’s evident as hell if you just watch him, at least to me. So I’m sticking with him in Ravenclaw. Also, it’s very appealing to me that he’d be in a house with Namjoon. A FEW OTHER RANDOM DETAILS OF THIS UNIVERSE: - Jin would be a prefect for Gryffindor - He would also be that super, crazy popular guy everyone is batshit in love with - the one you’d hate from afar and gag and be like “ugh why do people degrade themselves over such a conceited prick??” - but then you can’t help being charmed by and totally getting a crush (regular, friend, boy, etc. all and ay type of crush) on when you actually get to know him - Namjoon would also be a prefect for Ravenclaw - and he’d be that super chill prefect everyone admires the hell out of - the one who lets a lot of stupid shit slide - but will 100% call you out when you fuck up - and then you feel small and you hate that you feel like you disappointed him - yoongi would probably be a prefect for hufflepuff too (nerd ❤️) - Yoongi’s and jimin and hoseok hang around all the time - like theyre this sort of click - inseparable - you very much want to sit with them at lunch except how could you??? you are in no way on their level ffs pls look at them - so many ppl constantly ask Yoongi why hes not in slytherin - and hobi and jimin are always like "yeah yoongs why arent you in the best house ever ?? Hyuk hyuk hyuk" - and Yoongi just rolls his eyes and just spits out a savage ass comment and walks away as the other two idiots follow still laughing - because jimin and Hobi would be annoyingly loud about their house loyalty - like they’d always mention it and always bring it up like.... - "srsly stfu no one cares how much you wish you could suck Salazar Slytherin's cock" - "i would totally suck his cock you're just jealous that his was bigger than your stupid founder's cock anyway hahahaha" - Hobi and jimin would also be on the quidditch team - both chasers - craaaaaaaazy good - untouchable - wow - such grace in the air, such finesse, such speed - taehyung would be on the Gryffindor quidditch team except he'd 1000000% be a beater - he'd have girls (and guys lbrh) eating out of his hand swooning over him - "omg he's so sweet and so good-looking and so funny !!!!!" - "such a puppy" - "what a gentle precious soul" - "uuuuhhh...... he literally knocked some dude unconscious last game" - "an obvious misunderstanding for he is a gentle pup" - jungkook would be the seeker for ravenclaw - golden maknae takes whole new meaning - the other teams would constantly be accusing him of cheating because - "how tf does he always find fucking snitch so fast ????? def cheating" - super admired and fawned over - gets lots of... attention........... if ya catch my drift - except he's an awkward shy moron who doesn't do well meeting new people - often shelters himself behind namjoon, who - lbh -isnt any help - completely different on and off the field - crazy intelligent but kind of a mess in class actually - "how are you even a Ravenclaw??" - "stfu tae eat dick like you're such a great student" - omg i'm crying excuse me thats the end for now

Six Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Take FIRE Too Far
The following is a guest post from Sam at How to FIRE.
If you’re not already familiar with the FIRE movement, there’s a good chance that you soon will be. It is a concept that is gathering pace, with people all over the world looking to achieve financial freedom. FIRE is an acronym that stands for “Financial Independence Retire Early,” but what exactly is it, and is there a risk of going too far?
What Does It Take To Achieve Financial Independence?
FIRE is a financial movement, which can involve working towards early retirement by saving a substantial amount of your income. Typically, people retire at the age of around 60-70, but many FIRE followers pursue early retirement. They often aim to retire in their 20s, 30s, or 40s instead.
The ultimate goal for FIRE enthusiasts is to be financially independent, but this usually means making significant sacrifices along the way. Every person is different, but generally speaking, someone who embraces the FIRE movement will try and save up to 70% of their annual income and utilize a FIRE calculator to track their progress. In addition to living frugally, FIRE followers also look for ways to invest in their long-term future.
Saving up to 70% of your annual salary is undoubtedly difficult for many people, but there are additional concerns. For some, saving can become an obsession, and it can impact every area of your life. If all you think about is saving and working towards early retirement, there is a risk of taking it too far and suffering in the short-term. There are many positives to being financially independent, but it’s crucial to be aware of the potential dangers of letting FIRE take over. This guide will examine some of the main reasons you should proceed with caution and avoid taking FIRE too far.
Why Shouldn’t You Take FIRE Too Far?
Being financially independent and giving up your job at 36 may seem like the ultimate life goal, but what happens if your plans start to infringe on your quality of life in the present? Sure, some short-term sacrifices are completely tolerable and expected. But, here are six reasons to consider adopting a measured approach to FIRE.
1. You’ll End Up Working a Job You Hate Just for the Paycheck
To be able to save enough to retire at an early age, there’s a chance that you’ll end up doing a job you don’t particularly enjoy just for the wage. There are apparent benefits to earning a high salary, but if you’re working long hours or don’t have any passion or enthusiasm for the job you do every day, you might start to dread getting up in the mornings. You’ll want to quit your job every day, and this routine will leave you wondering whether your efforts are really worthwhile.
The average person spends around 37 hours a week at work, and if you add overtime, that’s an awful lot of time to devote to doing something you don’t like. If every day is a challenge, and you never arrive at or leave work with a smile on your face, even the thought of retiring early may not be enough to keep you motivated.
2. Minimalism Gets Weird Sometimes
Many people choose to live frugally, but there’s a difference between trying to save money and adopting an extreme approach to budgeting. Minimalism is designed to simplify financial management, and it can offer a raft of benefits. If you’re on a mission to save, there’s a lot to be said for identifying priorities and setting boundaries in other areas. The trouble is that there’s always a risk of taking minimalism to a point where life can become a little weird.
Financial experts are all for people making an effort to save. But you’ve probably taken it too far if you’re recycling Ziploc bags time and time again, surviving on tasteless, bland meals because they’re cheap, or rushing to take advantage of yellow sticker sections at the store after a 12-hour day at work. Saving may be the priority, but it shouldn’t impede your health or enjoyment of life.
3. FOMO is Real
FOMO (fear of missing out) is a relatively new concept, but it’s one that can be a genuine consequence of following the FIRE movement. If you’re saving every single cent you can, intending to enjoy financial freedom in the future, it’s highly likely that you’ll miss out on both the big and small stuff now. However, financial independence and early retirement is certainly an admirable goal, and one that I have made for myself.
Sticking to your plan is crucial, but where do you draw the line when deciding whether something is worth spending money? Are you going to miss out on opportunities or experiences that may never come around again because you don’t want to part with any more cash than you absolutely have to?
It’s incredibly beneficial to think about the future, but going too far with FIRE means that you might miss out on the present. While your friends and family are socializing, going to weddings, organizing trips together and celebrating births, marriages, and landmark birthdays, for example, is it worth missing out to retire as early as possible?
4. A Lack of Flexibility Contributes to Disappointment
When you take control of your finances, you have a say as to how you spend your money. If you jump on board the FIRE movement approach, though, flexibility in terms of spending can seem significantly reduced in some aspects. Most people who follow FIRE try and save up to 70% of their income, withdrawing around 4% of their savings and investment gains.
If you take FIRE too far, life can become very rigid and routine. A lack of flexibility could compromise your freedom, contributing to disappointment. There’s also a worry that once you adopt a way of life that complies with FIRE guidelines, there’s no way back. If you want to change your mind either during the saving process or once you’ve retired, would you have the strength and conviction to do that?
5. Someone Else’s FIRE Timeline May Not Be Realistic For You
If you search for content related to FIRE on the Internet, you’ll find all kinds of stories and video clips that talk about retiring in your 20s, but this is not a realistic timeline for the vast majority of people. Everyone is different in terms of their expectations and the amount of money they’re able or willing to save. What works for one person may not be viable for another, and sometimes, timelines can encourage people to set unrealistic targets and to put excessive pressure on themselves. The reality is that you should only ever follow a timeline that is relevant to your situation.
6. Mental Health and Wellbeing Should Be a Top Priority
We live in a day and age where there are too many stressors, which can cause significant anxiety and depression in everyday life. Sometimes the pressure of hitting a specific savings target and spending goal can be too much to bear. Even worse, not accomplishing them regularly can contribute to immense guilt, which isn’t helped by the blunt expectations laid out by web gurus.
Putting this pressure on yourself and having a one-track mind can take a serious toll on your mental health and wellbeing. While you may be motivated and energized by the idea of achieving financial independence and even early retirement, there’s always a risk of becoming too consumed by saving and scrimping. If things don’t go to plan, this can be detrimental to your health and happiness.
Balance FIRE With Living for Today
There are many benefits to saving money and planning for the future. Reaching financial freedom is one of the best things you can do for yourself. But, it is possible to take FIRE too far. In truth, you’re already making much better progress than the majority of the population by taking control of your finances. So, try to relax and enjoy your journey while setting realistic targets. Don’t miss out on the present because you’re too fixated on the future.
Often, the best way to strike a balance between now and the years to come is to practice intentionality. You can be intentional in both your spending and savings. There are some things in your life that won’t be worth spending money on, and others in which you should spend unapologetically. For instance, I value traveling the world, so I use travel hacking to make it a possibility. In essence, only spend money on what you value, so you don’t miss out on what is truly important. This is how you can have the best of both worlds.
