Again and again I have to hear the argument that "asexuals are actually not oppressed because in fact virginity and abstinence is expected" but these people seem to be forgetting that not everyone lives in a puritanical or at least puritan-shaped society.
I had close, good friends remark about another friend that she was abnormal for finding some guys cute but never approaching them or seeking a relationship when we were only 18.
When I was 19 I had to see a doctor and when I told her that I never had sex she reacted with "Really ? How ?! Did you never get the urge or just want to try it out ?!"
I was asked how one could get me, an autistic person, to develop a special interest in sex so I'd want to do it all the time and try out various positions/kinks/etc.
During my internship I managed to secure a position as an assistant and everyone openly assumed that I had slept with my boss. I was 19.
Personally, I'm not sex-negative but sex-repulsed. Non-graphic sex scenes or snippets alluding to sex (i.e. hands grabbing sheets) are not only part of the normal tv program but ads. I'll see sex scenes during day time for sex toys, condoms, health apps - even fucking bottled water. On channels with kids-friendly programs.
During high school I refused a date AND just sex with a friend. He didn't understand when I said "it's not you, I just generally don't", so he came back and told me in detail how he'd rape and murder me and more.
In my 20s I lived in shared housing. Several people could not accept that I wasn't interested in sleeping around. One was actually yelling at me in public that I should sleep with him because "it was obvious I wanted to". But clearly that's homophobia ? We actually had gay and lesbian housemates, they were fully accepted.
Another public scene. A guy yelled at me from a distance in the pedestrian zone how I had nice legs and he wanted to perform oral sex on me. I was mortified. My mother found it "funny and quite charming"...
When I was 16 and had no interest in dating or sex my best friend told me "when you eventually have sex you'll have to grid your teeth and act like you feel no pain and are experienced. No one wants to have sex with an 18+ virgin. Also if you're over 18 you can't expect a guy to go slow during your first time, you're too old."
And while I love the diversity in aspec-spaces, it can get annoying to hear "just because you're ace doesn't mean you can't have sex, right ? You do engage in sex, right ?!", because people read about sex-positive asexuality and jumped on it right away.

Meltdowns and Shutdowns tend to happen as a response to extreme distress. And each autistic may experience these differently.
When you've hit that point of no return where your fight, flight, or freeze responses start to kick in, this is usually when meltdowns or shutdowns occur.
They are both uncontrollable, they're a reaction, a way our mind is trying to cope. If possible, it's best to ask the autistic person what their preferences are for help.
Meltdowns tend to be a more external reaction. This one is often confused with tantrums, but are not tantrums. A person may yell, scream, hurt themselves or others (unintentionally), stim, eloping, throwing or breaking things, etc..
Shutdowns tend to be a more internal reaction. One may look more withdrawn or "not with it". A person may not be able to move, become unresponsive, feel stuck or frozen or heavy, stare or unable to make eye contact, thoughts may be difficult to form if at all, etc..
Both may involve crying or shaking, inability to speak or form words, be unresponsive, may want to be left alone.
You may experience either or, depending on the situation. Or as some autistics get older, they tend to experience shutdowns more often than meltdowns.

As for her lore, shes a mad scientist basically. She has a weird ideology about science, considering it a form of art. A former researcher of the Fontaine Research Institute, she quit after she found hereelf misaligning with the way the institute handles itself. She now works as a freelancer that takes comissions on the go, her latest one being an offer given by Wriothesley regarding a particular secret project.
Her past is a little cloudy but she was once a member of high society, her mother a diplomat from Sumeru who settled in fontaine after marrying a noble from Fontaine. She's since been disowned by the family due to several complications. Not that she cares.
Whats her vision element? Geo? Anemo? Sike. Its Electro. Misdirection– its on the back of her jacket.

“[Hero],” the villain opens with smoothness they haven’t shown the hero in a long time. “I have made a terrible, terrible mistake.”
Ah. Seduction for a favour. Of course. “Well don’t keep me in suspense, [Villain]. I could use a good laugh.”
The villain pulls a face, distantly offended. Their lips twitch uncertainly. “[Supervillain]’s lab is… made for [Supervillain].”
“Who’d have thought. You’ve been in there?”
Another twitch. “Yes,” the villain says shortly. “Yes, I was in there. [Supervillain] doesn’t label anything either. Their little concoctions could be anything—and I… drank one.”
The hero snorts. The villain scowls. “You drank an unlabelled liquid?” the hero asks from behind a laugh.
“Yes.”
“Intentionally?”
The villain’s scowl somehow deepens. “Yes.”
“What, are your hours numbered? Are you hoping I hold a secret cure?”
“No.”
“What was it, then?”
Another twitch. The villain doesn’t seem to want to answer at all. “It was a truth serum.”
Oh. Now that is interesting. “Truth serum? So you can’t lie?”
“Yes.” The villain smirks, and suddenly the seductive hopefulness is back full force. “Go on, test me. Ask a question.”
The hero stares into the distance as they think. It’s a lot of opportunity dumped on them with no warning. The villain slinks across the room towards them, curious, tantalising. “Do you actually enjoy being a villain?”
“Yes.” The villain’s smirk upturns even more. “I wouldn’t even have to lie for that. Ask something I wouldn’t usually answer, dumbass.”
The villain closes the space between them. The hero gives them a suspicious squint. “Where’s your evil lair?”
“In the basement of the old school downtown,” the villain says immediately. They groan disappointedly as soon as the words are out. “God, of course you’d go for something about work. What, is looking for us getting boring?”
The hero can feel the villain’s breath on their face now. They look away to avoid the heat rising to their face. “You want me to ask something… personal?”
The villain smirks. Their arms snake up to sit on the hero’s shoulders, their fingers brushing idly through their hair. “Sure.”
Thinking isn’t the hero’s strong suit right now. They know they should push the villain away, but something’s stopping them. It almost feels real. It’s a little too comfortable. They can feel every bit of the villain's body against theirs. “I, uh… are you… seeing anyone?”
“No,” the villain whispers with a cocky grin. “Not yet.”
And the villain presses their lips to the hero’s.
Something of a surprised squeak tumbles from the hero’s mouth and straight into the villain’s. The villain hums a laugh, their fingers tightening in the other’s hair. The hero is caught up in the shock of it for a moment, but once their brain kicks in and screams its victory they remember to actually kiss them back.
The villain’s mouth is soft, gentle, their lips moving against the hero’s with a novel carefulness. The hero lets their arms slide around the other’s waist, pulling them in a little more, almost lightheaded with the exhilarated buzz. They can feel the villain smile against them as they deepen the kiss. The villain’s lips are almost salty, crisp, moreish. The hero doesn’t think they could ever get enough of their taste on their tongue.
The villain pulls away after a moment, much to the hero’s dismay, though their arms stay locked possessively around their neck. They throw a smirk at the hero again, entirely too proud of what they just pulled. “How many heroes are on the roster right now?”
The hero’s mouth is forming words before they can even register the question. “Twelve.”
“Damn.” The villain’s eyebrows shoot upwards, and the hero suddenly realises what’s happening. This bastard. “That’s not a lot. We have more than that.”
“How many?”
“Thirty-six.” The hero’s eyes widen slightly in horror, and the villain scowls at them. They still haven’t let go. “Fuck you.”
“What is—”
“Are you seeing anyone?”
“No.” Damnnit. The villain’s smirk turns playful at the hero's answer. “What’s—”
“Do you like me?”
“Yes.” The hero’s feelings aren’t stopping the rising desire to strangle the villain for making them do this. “You asshole.”
The villain’s smirk turns into a grin. “Aww. See, you can be—”
“Do you like me?”
“Yes.” The villain’s smile is gone in a second. “Oh, who’s the asshole now, huh?”
“This is so stupid,” the hero points out with a scowl. “How long does this stuff last?”
“I don’t know.” The villain grins again, entirely too knowing. “Why don’t we find out? We have all day.”
The hero frowns in faint annoyance, but the villain easily wipes it off their face with another taste of truth serum.

After getting back into Moral Orel recently, I stumbled onto your blog while going through the Clay tag and I have to say I love your art of him and the other characters so, so much! Imo I think you managed to capture the tone of the show (especially the vibes of the darker episodes) greatly through your shading and colouring, and it's always nice to see another Clay fan (regardless of how much of a dumpster fire he is, he's still my favorite and is cute so I'm at a crossroads)!
That said, after specifically coming across your househusband and single father drawings of his, I wanted to share an idea I've thought about for the past few days - the idea of Clay just being a single father to Orel alone without Shapey in the picture either bc Bloberta divorced him and left prior to the show started OR bc she died shortly after Orel was born and therefore didn't have Shapey with Stopframe to begin with - and how this would have affected the series overall.
I know this is kinda dark but after rewatching the series and seeing Clay's relationship with his own dad - I can't help but wonder if this would have screwed up Clay's own relationship with Orel even more so than it already is in canon - especially if Clay being the father of the year he is he blamed Orel for Bloberta's divorcing him/Bloberta's death. Additionally, I can't help but think about how Bloberta's not being there would have affected Clay's relationship with Stopframe early on too, you know?
Sorry for the long ask, I just wanted to see your thoughts on this after seeing how well you were able to capture Clay's character through your art; also, I hope you have a great day!
Oh anon, that's a bit hard to imagine. I don't exactly like the thought of killing bloberta off so she probably just got a divorce.
I don't think he's capable of going to "the next level" with Danielle, not yet at least.... But I think this allows for clay and Dan to see each other more often, even though he has to live with the dread that comes after he's more willing to "let go" around dan. The divorce hit him hard, obviously. He feels like it's shameful to also be "the woman" of the house, now that bloberta isn't there.

I wanna keep talking about Kiki Layne's Met Gala look & *why* it's so brilliant....
*sigh*
This silhouette is not only a bunch of checkmarks for all the gilded age girl fashion staples: the color pink, the corset buttons, the opera gloves, the close to the neck -necklace, the heavy halo of hair framing her face...
But what it subverts given Kiki's immaculate face card (honestly the best face there, argue with your momma) and her being emphatically black, not just by being a black woman, by how she is styled especially the fro!!!...
See, there was this "feminine ideal" in the gilded age called The Gibson Girl:
As drawn by Charles Gibson in the 1890's which lasted up until WWI, this was the feminine ideal of the era... Pure, beautiful, etheral, the right class, perfect.
...and WHITE.
One big signature is the huge pile of hair that formed a heavy halo on the head.
Anne, in the 1985 Anne of Green Gables, reached for this look in the concert scene here (note the pink sash, flower in her big red hair, neck hugging pearls, frilly detailing empasizing the clavicle and shoulders, and opera gloves):
and other "Gibson" girls taking the hair to pretty big halos:
even the middle-class Booker T. black women of the era adhered to this:
I mentioned the fros were *also* of the era... the exoticifed ideal of the Circassian woman:
These women were exhibited in traveling shows and given exotified backstories of having been kidnapped and sold into white slavery... from the Caucasus Mountians region, in the country of Georgia and regions south of Russia in Europe.
They were exotified as "perfection" in beauty and known for their afro-textured hair.... but again WHITE.
Now, the stylist for Miss Layne said she specifically chose the Afro as a purposeful nod to blackness within the opulence of the gilded styling... but KNOWING ALL OF THE ABOVE, her look goes well beyond just that into the startlingly subversive.
Again... Kiki is soft, she's princess pretty, she's pure, ethereal, she's feminine, delicate, all of those things usually ascribed to whiteness.... while checking off the gilded style reference points AND being a black woman.
And as we know, when it comes to the rareity of black women being seen as soft...
*every.*
* thing.* from the delicate way she is holding herself in this style, -she's wearing it, it's *not* wearing her (posture immaculate, hands delicately crossed) to again... Just her BEAUTY and her BLACK beauty in that Halo of Afro hair...
She just stomped all over that Gibson aesthetic and proved she can best that ideal with emphatic blackness....soft fro, perfect face card, and all... all while hitting the assignment pitch perfect.
And that, my friends, is why I LOVE THIS LOOK.

there seems to be far too many fans who can't seem to wrap their head around the fact that no relationship in the Vampire Chronicles is healthy. every relationship includes an element of abuse/power imbalance by normal standards. literally every single one.
they are all monsters who are no longer constrained by societal rules. so I don't think it's too crazy to expect them to do mosntorus things. the genre is Gothic HORROR. the show really prioritizes the HORROR element more so than other adaptaions, which i love.
i don't need louis to be a liar to enjoy lestat. if louis lied or misremebered things about the fight in episode 5, i literally do not care because it's never gonna make me hate louis. the baseline of what constitutes "evil" or "bad" is so different in iwtv because of the fact that they are NOT HUMAN. Claudia is literally a serial killer and she's still mother to me. ykwim?
the nature of vampirism is they have to kill to survive. so it would be really cool if people could accept louis, armand, and claudia as complex characters who are fundamentally not good people (because they aren't people!) without being racist about it. THEY ARE ALL KILLERS
im more interested in this exploration of the complexities of memory and seeing how the show integrates the other books into this story in a way that hasn't been done before than I am in discoursing about whether louis is a liar or not. who gives a shit???? grow up and realize that there are no good guys here and that's OKAY
