And blinding light, so whoever gets there - even before getting burnt they just AHHH, someone ask Alina to-

So the way I imagine it, it would be a very, very bright place. Not bright in the sense "Oh what a sunny Fold! Feels like we're on a beach!" But the kind that is so hot and blazing that you would feel yourself melting. There would be no shadow to find yourself a cover. The sand would be dry and heated like red coals under your feet. The light would be scorching your skin as if the sun was only inches away from you.

And, furthermore, the creatures that I personally imagine would live there (the former citizens of that area) would be like the Boitatá. The Boitatá is a mythical creature from the Brazilian mythology. It was called "Serpent of Fire". Essentially it was a huge fire snake: its body was made of pure fire and it had one hundred eyes from head to toe that were blazing fire as well.

So yeah I imagine a bunch of those instead of the Darkling's volcra.
