This person is my chosen one. I wanted to show her my sincerity. So why not get married and get it over with. There's no reason to hide.

❝ Spock and Kirk are my oldest memory of characters from fiction. I remember how mesmerized I was by Spock when I was only 4 or 5. But it’s only a few years ago that I reconnected with the series, having no real memories of it except for Spock. I started it thinking that it was going to be too vintage to really enjoy, but I was hooked so rapidly that I didn’t even realize it. And the main reason is because of Kirk and Spock and their incredible alchemy. In every situation their duo has something interesting to bring. I absolutely love the dynamic of their relationship whether it’s Captain/Commander, friendship, love, or anything in between. Whatever the prism I choose to look at it through, it’s always captivating.
❝ When I choose my reference images for my drawings, it’s sometimes because of the episode it’s in, like Mirror Mirror or Patterns of Force, which are some of my favorites (plus I HAD to draw the glitters of the mirror uniforms!), or because they have a particularly interesting look. For example, I really adore Spock when he’s a bit off-character, like in the Mirror episode; or when he smiles. For Kirk I like anything with his piercing gaze (so… a lot of choice!). And of course I like to draw them together or, alternatively, to make a portrait of each in the same style or from the same episode so that they respond to each other. I really feel that they need to both be there and every time I start one, the other is planned too.
❝ For the styles and colors, I always try to create something that reflects either what I feel about the reference image that I chose, or the feeling of the episode its from. So sometimes I use dreamy soft colors; sometimes more contrasted and vibrant ones; sometimes I put the focus on the yellow/blue/red of the uniforms. And of course I also love adding some rainbows here and there, sometimes as streaks of light; sometimes included in the palette - because everything about it is gorgeous: the colors; the symbolism; the link between different solid colors; the dynamic it suggests…for all these reasons I feel like rainbows suit Kirk and Spock so well. And to finish, I always need to add a starry/glitter effect and a galaxy-like background, to give them the perfect context and have the brightest rendering possible to make it look complete and interesting.
Addendum: WANTED! The below three are not part of this collection but are the 'pairs' to some of the images above (they were already sold 💔) - if anyone finds them or has them and wants to help complete the collection, please do get in touch! :-
