Narcissa and Lucius’ Unbreakable Vow story is so fuckin funny to me.

So you’ve got Narcissa, realizing that she should be married off soon, and then realizing the reason she hasn’t been married off yet or at least promised to someone is because of how Sirius is behaving. Bella and Andy were already promised by the time they were her age, but she’s the backup for Sirius.

Absolutely not. She grabs Bella, explains that she absolutely will not do this and needs help picking a pureblood husband fast.

How they decide on Lucius? Irrelevant. It’s an honor to marry a member of their family, so they just need someone who isn’t spoken for publicly. Lucius will do.

Imagine Lucius hearing their proposal, and his Malfoy instincts being like “a marriage to a Black? Yes ofc it’s an honor to marry into that family, they rarely allow others to marry their children.” He agrees, is thrilled, and then,

Later

At night maybe weeks after that vow is made

He realizes

That while yes, he did promise to marry a sane, levelheaded member of the Black Family,

And truly, what an honor, the odds of that happening are unspeakable. So unlikely it seems a fantasy.

But

He’s also vowed to make the ENTIRE Black Family his in-laws.

All of them.

And he just sort of stares at the wall, trying to accept what he’s sentenced himself to.

At least his parents will be proud and his children will be gorgeous regardless of which parent they take after. He’s to marry a Black, after all.

(This also justifies why Narcissa turns to Bellatrix when she needs a vow out of Snape. They’ve danced this dance before and coerced an unbreakable out of Lucius, they can absolutely wrestle one out of Severus.)

"Narcissa", Sirius spoke, leaning against the doorway.

Narcissa turned from her vanity to face him, "What do you want?"

He grinned, shuffling further into the room and ungracefully flopping down onto her bed.

Narcissa picked up her lipstick and carried on getting ready.

"Bellatrix is creeping Reg out."

"Regulus is old enough to handle himself."

Sirius frowned, "Against Bella? She's completely insane."

Narcissa huffed, turning back to face him, "She is not! Besides, I'm sure people think that of you."

Sirius mumbled, "Good", as he chewed the cuff of his shirt.

"Can you stop? Merlin, that is disgusting, Sirius!"

Sirius grinned again, "Priss."

Narcissa rolled her eyes, "You're a mess. Uncle Orion will be furious, you know? He was planning on introducing you to Harold Minchum, he's very opposed to our more traditional ways but he thinks he'll like you and that you'd be able to convince him to be an ally for our family, rather than a hindrance. He's a bit of a socialist, you see."

Sirius glared at her, "I think I'd only succeed in making him hate our family more."

Narcissa's lip twitched, "I told Aunt Walburga that, but they seem set in introducing you."

Sirius swang upwards, "I better get down there then, tell the minister just how uptight and prejudiced this family is."

Narcissa sighed, "Can you not put family first just this once?"

"You're the one worried over your looks more than your cousin getting murdered by your sister."

Narcissa shot him a glare, "I am trying to be presentable for important networking and Bellatrix loves Regulus, she's not going to murder him!"

Sirius kicked her doorway, "She'd murder me."

"That's because you're a huge wanker!"

Sirius turned back around, "You swore! Prissy Cissa swore!"

Narcissa glared at him again, "And if you tell anyone, I'll be the one to kill you instead. Now will you please defile our family name and leave me to get ready?"

Sirius shot both his arms up in the air in surrender, "All you had to do was ask! I love defiling the family name!"

BLACK COUSINS

i would kill for a good black cousins fic where we talk about their childhoods, how they were when they were younger and all.

how Bellatrix being the oldest took care of all of them, protecting them however she could even of she was strict w them.

how Andromeda was the loving one, always kind and sweet with her younger sister/cousins.

how narcissa tried to take the role of an older sibling for regulus when sirius ran away (as he sould) because she knew what it felt like.

how sirius feels leaving his cousins and brother alone but not regretting his choice and being close to Andromeda again.

and how regulus, the youngest will bring all of them together again because they love him and would do anything for him.

them fixing their relationships with each other and becoming close again, not the same way as they were younger since this time they do not have to watch their actions in fear of enraging their parents and regulus becoming Lord Black and changing the whole house's principles, adding back Andromeda and Sirius and them being genuinely happy in their lives and relationships<3

also narcissa divorcing Lucius and raising draco in a loving environment with his cousin/s (nymphadora tonks loml) because we all know that narcissa would love being a mother🩷

Bellatrix had some difficulties adjusting to this at first but she found herself genuinely happy with her new life and learned to accept everyone surrounding her, she knows it does not excuse what she did or said in the past but she knows shes growing and learning to be a better person.

Bellatrix - is secretly lesbian, hates boys, is really overprotective (especially her sisters) is secretly in love with gossip and lastly, she has the biggest crush on Rita Skeeter.

Narcissa- is bi, loves everyone in the family, she wouldn't let Lucius name Draco, her favorite cousin was either regulus or pandora (I head canon Lunas mom as pandora rosier) and lastly, she used to date Alice (Nevilles mother)

Andromeda- is the only straight person in her generation of the blacks, is the biggest ally you will ever meet, very under rated, was an amazing mother, not once was she ashamed for being in Slytherin, she actually had big house pride and lastly, she wouldn't let teddy anywhere near the Weasley family as she was mad molly killed her sister and she didn't care how bad she was.

Sirius- he took 10 minutes to be sorted, the only reason he stayed in the house as long as he did was for regulus, his favorite cousin was Andy, he would often say 'it's hard being your own cousin' or 'I'm my own favorite cousin', he was gay and gender fluid, has adha, and lastly, he called himself the wight sheep of the family.

Regulus- is trans ftm, gay, was a sneer and saw himself dying but couldn't tell anyone as he was alone, hates pink, was spouse to be in Gryffindor as he has a heart of a lion, never one has he disagreed with Sirus inside his own head only out loud, is autistic, secretly loves muggle books, is really good at art poetry and ice-skating, wore a lot of rigs/ jewelry, and lastly he was a black cat Animagus.

All of the Black cousins being little and loving each other and they’re each others only support in this so obviously they’re gonna stick close

Trixy was the fierce fire that protected them. She talked back before Siri or Andy got the chance to so she took curses and the hexes

Andy was always testing the limits. Pushing boundaries and finding new places for them to explore and adventure

Cissy kept them safe. Where Trixy took the punishment, Cissy made sure they didn’t get it. Where Andy took them exploring Cissy made sure they didn’t die doing it.

Siri was bold, always had been, testing Cissys patience and pushing Andy to go on even more adventures

regulus & sirius

brothers/cousins- they were extremely close as kids since they never really had any other friends to play with. but as sirius got sorted into gryffindor and made friends, and regulus getting sorted into slytherin the year after, they drifted apart. sirius not being able to separate regulus to their parents, and regulus being jealous of sirius' freedom and happiness.

regulus & narcissa

cousins- both being the youngest and deemed 'the golden child', narcissa protects and helps regulus handle issues and stay in good favour with everyone. narcissa being the only slytherin student he already knew well, she guided him in school to help him remain in good standing with the other slytherins but not getting involved in their harmful actions.

regulus & andromeda

cousins- regulus was always jealous of how much closer sirius was to her, how they kept secrets just between the two of them, how they'd sneak out together during parties and never invited him along. andromeda did try to influence regulus, getting him to understand the family's prejudice, but when she left, she cut all ties.

regulus & bellatrix

cousins- bellatrix tended to prefer talking to her sisters walburga when at grimmauld place, rather than sirius and regulus. so the two weren't really close. until bellatrix had joined the death eaters, and regulus was being urged to join as well. bellatrix was extremely keen for regulus to join. once sirius was disowned, she would stay during holidays, her behaviour and body language being so similar to sirius' was soothing at the time, and regulus listened to what she had to say.

sirius & narcissa

cousins- the two are complete opposites. where sirius is loud and defiant, narcissa is quiet and dutiful. narcissa sees sirius as a naive kid ruining their life, and sirius sees narcissa as a meek, vain, and self-absorbed. the two never got on, only connecting through alice fortescue.

sirius & andromeda

cousins- andromeda was like a guidance figure to sirius, teaching them how to escape, how to hide things, etc. she always tried to influence sirius in a good way, showing them their family's prejudice. the two being the only ones disowned, kept in contact. andromeda never fully believed sirius was a death eater.

sirius & bellatrix

cousins- so similar to each other, the exact same personality and impulses but ruled by complete opposite motivations. both being the eldest sibling, they take on a lot of their parents expectations and brute of their anger. but both of them hate themselves deeply, thinking they're too impulsive, angry, and a disappointment, that they can't help but despise the other for all the traits they share.

narcissa & andromeda

sisters- they were extremely close as children, as were bellatrix. but as they got older, andromeda grew more independent and outspoken and narcissa, seeing the aftermath of that rebellion, grew quieter and more compliant. after andromeda left, she cut all ties to her. but after the war, she extended a hand to narcissa and the two became close again.

narcissa & bellatrix

sisters- both felt like they had to protect the other, especially more after andromeda left. narcissa married lucius and gave up her quidditch dreams in order to stay with bellatrix, and bellatrix got narcissa out of having to take the dark mark and become a death eater. looked after each other their entire lives, to the point they made themselves miserable and crazy in attempts to be there and protect one another.

andromeda & bellatrix

sisters- although close as children, the two fought often, over toys, books, and the piano in the lounge. and as they grew older, the fighting got louder and more intense to the point the two, although loving each other, never confided anything in each other, instead telling everything to narcissa who never said a word. when andromeda left, bellatrix was the one who burned her off the tapestry.
