Phil: I always love hearing about like, different stories -- especially from the teachers in the chat -- where like, a student or like just a member of the school has some form of like, Techno merch or like, does something that is clearly a Techno reference. I just love that. It’s ‘cuz like -- exactly what I was hoping to happen is happening, where people are just keeping his memory alive. Whether it’s through wearing, you know, his merch and stuff, or still supporting him through doing like, you know, just talking about him or making like their art piece about him, stuff like that. It’s very cool. Technoblade truly never dies, if everyone just keeps f**king talking about him. [Laughs] If everyone just keeps referencing him, which is very easy to do because he was incredibly funny. He has a lot of referenceable quotes and sayings.

I talked about this a little bit yesterday, but I genuinely think it’s so cool how Eret’s trying to include everyone -- especially the newer DSMP members -- in the new & upcoming lore.

Bitch is back 😎
Honestly, I wanted to come back with a comp/clip but I honestly don’t know where to start b/c I have so many I wanna do (which is mainly emerald duo and Joel of course)
I’m still gonna be making posts about him whether it be text posts, videos, reblogs like I’m gonna be so annoying about how much I love him. I literally was rewatching his videos a few days ago and my face kept hurting from how much I was smiling and laughing like that motherfucker is living in my head rent free even in the afterlife.
So yeah I’m happier now and ready to come back and be the fanatic that I am about my blorbos and skrunklies ;)

I am falling through a Layton rabbithole again and damn it, I might write a fic with crimeboys if I find the time and motivation to write a whole game's worth. God forbid I'm dumb enough to plot out the entire original trilogy. I don't have much but
Hershel Layton - Wilbur
Luke Triton - Tommy
Flora Reinhold - Niki
Inspector Chelmey - Schlatt
Dmitri Allen - Charlie
Claire Foley - Sally
Don Paolo - Possibly Fundy but not 100% decided

today is june 1st, today is what would've been technoblade's 24th birthday and it feels surreal he's no longer with us.
he touched so many people, changed so many lives, and made an impact on the minecraft youtube community that will never fade. despite everything, he leaves behind an amazing legacy full of accomplishments and kindness and humor, a community known for their generosity, and content people turn to even now for comfort.
and in that way, he's still with us. each one of us carries on his memory and legacy, always to be missed, yes, but always to be loved and treasured for the amazing person he was and the things he did.
i know he's looking down at us, amazed at how far we've come. happy birthday, techno. we love you and we miss you.

Man isn’t it insane that there is probably a whole group of people through the qsmp who are learning about techno for the first time? Especially Spanish / Portuguese speaking communities. At least learning purely through osmosis.
Just imagine being like “Who is this guy that that they keep mentioning? And they keep telling bed time stories about?” And finding out more and being like “what?? Oh. Oh OH.”
I hope everyone gets a chance to learn about him. His legacy is forever. Technoblade never dies.

if you're still taking hot takes: a large portion of "dsmp" fanfics (sbi fics in particular) are actually just rpf fanfics about the ccs in alternate universes that claim to be about characters because that part of the fanbase views rpf as inherently immoral and thus feel the need to justify their rpf fics by slapping a /rp label on it
oh my goddd this one fr like "c!sbi is an established unit and then they adopt c!tommy into their family" is the premise of so many fics and THAT IS CC!SBI FANFIC. C!SBI DIDNT EXIST ??????? STRAIGHT UP DIDN'T EXIST . WHAT. "techno, wilbur, and philza made up the joint unit of sleepy boys inc and they adopted tommy within their ranks" is literally what happened with the streamers in real life like my god people . and when did that happen in the canon server lore ... ? LITERALLY NEVER ??
oftentimes fanfic in this fandom just borrows whatever dynamics they want from either the rpf or rp side like. "c!sbi versus c!dream" where the entire Point of it being "characters" is so that they can use their c!dream caricature evil dude (who coincidentally behaves literally nothing like c!dream)--like i'm sorry but i was here in 2020 and know what sleepytwt was like at the time, yall aint subtle (even if you're just carrying on the legacy of fandom members before you and dont actually even know the history you're writing lmao.)

Noxy from Hypixel tweeted about the book of condolences for Techno’s family!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Image ID:
A cropped screenshot of a series of tweets by Noxy at Hypixel Studios @/Noxywoxy. It reads “As some saw from Reddit, we visited and delivered the books of condolences and fan art to Technoblades family on behalf of the Hypixel community a few days ago.
We’re consulting with the family on what’s appropriate to share but I would like to thank all involved in the process
Over 400,000 messages were moderated and printed across 22 volumes. A4 size, 600 pages each.
Each book was filled with the physical embodiment of his legacy and the grief and love of the community.
I can’t state how much it meant to his family.
I’m very thankful that @/snifferish and guest was able to join us and present the painting they spent the last year working on.
Together we were able to tell the family just how much Technoblade meant to us and the community and I’m really grateful to have had that chance.
We talked in detail about Technoblades journey from player, to player council, to gaining YouTube rank at 30k subs , Minecraft Mondays, Potato Wars. PIG rank.
Still processing the emotions from that day , but it’s clear his family were there for every step of that journey.”

I don’t know why but George’s “life is short but you had a massive one” really made me breathe out for the first time since I heard the news. Techno’s impact is massive and his legacy will live on forever. The lives he changed and I’m just glad he knows how important he is to everyone. And the love and humor he gave to the world will never die because it stays with us. Techno’s life was cut too short but he made the absolute most of what he had.

I don’t want to bring up drama from communities I only passively observe, but Technoblade will always be very near to my heart. So I find it kinda weird what dream is doing right now.
I am obviously not the biggest dream fan, so there’s bias there but seeing him use Techno’s legacy for a music video gives me the ick. Especially having a actor play techno in his hospital bed.
I’m sure he’s talked this over with techno’s dad, and I can’t speak like I know techno beter then dream- but something about this feels wrong. Especially with the cartoony costumes and stuff, it’s like making a drama out of this real death that happened.
Also the proceeds BETTER go to charity. He’s rich enough. Especially with all the other stuff with him seemingly not donating to the charity with the whole one of us event.
Kinda just wish dream wasn’t associated with techno

just saw your offer for book recs and would love some fantasy/sci fi books, it seems like we have similar taste. i just finished nk jemisin's broken earth trilogy, and also loved the city we became by her.
Aha, I am at work right now and thus do not have my bookshelves at hand to make sure I'm not missing something blindly obvious. However, I will start you off with these:
The Rook and Rose trilogy by M.A. Carrick (The Mask of Mirrors, The Liar's Knot, Labyrinth's Heart). Yes, this is the series I have been screaming about nonstop for the past few weeks and thus craftily suckering unsuspecting passersby into reading. An AMAZING world, an OT3 who own my entire ass, lots of political intrigue, cultural and social commentary, a unique magic system, and also plenty of humor. It really has it all. I continue my one-man quest to make this fandom bigger. Ahem.
The Green Bone trilogy by Fonda Lee (Jade City, Jade War, Jade Legacy). Another fantastic fantasy series that NEEDS more readers. Inspired by Chinese/Hong Kong kung-fu movies, set in a gritty modern universe, kind of like the Godfather but with magical jade-wielding families. Tons of discussion of empire, culture, violence, appropriation, power, war, family, Asian identity, more. They're likewise nice and long to keep you busy.
The Daevabad trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty (The City of Brass, The Kingdom of Copper, The Empire of Gold). Another you-gotta-read-this trilogy (yes, I have many of them). Set in the 18th-century Middle East and the magical djinni kingdom of Daevabad. Politics, empire, religion, history, intrigue, magic, scheming families, ancient wars, and my most beloved, Muntadhir al-Qahtani. What is not to love.
The Priory of the Orange Tree and its standalone prequel, A Day of Fallen Night, by Samantha Shannon. Absolute doorstopper (800+ pages apiece) epic-with-dragons-and-medieval-worlds fantasy, like Game of Thrones if Game of Thrones was a) good b) gay c) feminist and d) had people of color. She is also the author of the Bone Season series (four books thus far) which is a unique blend of futuristic sci-fi and fantasy set in an alternate totalitarian London and a ruined Oxford.
Winter's Orbit and Ocean's Echo by Everina Maxwell. Two M/M space opera romances (set in the same universe, but can be read independently). She got her start as a fanfic writer and it shows; these are both delightful, plotty, funny, and full of sassy gay disaster homosexuals in space.
A Memory Called Empire and A Desolation Called Peace by Arkady Martine (I have read the first one, need to read the second one). Historian of medieval Byzantium writes space opera set in Space Constantinople which is also Space Tenochtitlan. Explores language, history, memory, power, identity, assimilation, and more, and is also very funny.
Autonomous, The Future of Another Timeline, and The Terraformers by Annalee Newitz. High-concept social-commentary dystopian science fiction; of the three, Terraformers (the newest one) might be my favorite. They're not related so you can read them in whatever order.
Two books that I have not read yet but I really want to: Swim Home to the Vanished by Brendan Shay Basham and To Shape a Dragon's Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose. Both are fantasy novels by Native American authors; Basham's is magical realism and Blackgoose's is about a Native American dragon-rider facing assimilation at an English (Anglish) boarding school.
Likewise coming soon and I am excited: The Jinn-Bot of Shantiport by Samit Basu. Middle Eastern-inspired fantasy, cyberpunk, techno-magic. In space!
There are definitely more that I will get home and be like oh wait yeah. But this should get you started.

techno is going to be remembered for so many things but i think i'm gonna remember him for the time ponk sent him a video of raccoons and techno not only watched it but replied to ponk with his favorite parts.
i think i'm gonna remember him for staying up to three a.m. with wilbur because wilbur was sick and didn't want to be alone so of course techno wouldn't leave him.
what a legacy.
