Acceptance! Full acceptance, of all her bad habits, the things that haunt her. She hasn't told anyone about her desires or issues that she keeps locked up tight, for fear that they'll stop talking to her. She is very anxious HAHA

mask: Does your OC wear a mask, literally or figuratively? What goes on beneath it? Is there anyone in their life who gets to see who they are under the mask?

She wears a mask with everyone to some degree, i believe. Some folks will see different unmasked bits of herself, and others may see more and more.

For example, her best friend gets to see her creativity a bit more, and is able to take her out to be a little more 'social'.

Rio would get to hear Constance a bit more, as due to circumstances she had to try and figure out talking more with him. He would get to see her more vulnerable than her best friend.

However, Gilbert would see her at her worst, with barely any mask, and I think that's what ultimately gets the both of them together. Because he say essentially a very broken, barely there mask, and did not shun her like she consistently feared from others, which led to her trying out things she normally wouldn't with someone in such a short amount of time, to see if he would actually accept her.

ahh thank you darling !! i appreciate your excitement teehee :^) as for your questions!! chapter-wise i'm pretty confident it'll turn out to be five (quite long) chapters, possibly six but i'm not expecting it to stretch out to six !! and as for the others characters, there are still details and roles n stuff to work out so im not entirely sure who's in it and who's where exactly, but i do know that james and lily will obvs be in it in pretty big roles, + peter + all those side characters who will probably end up making up the london group in some capacity! r's mam and dad are also quite big roles (who do you think gave him the daddy issues), as is frank in a way i did not quite anticipate but am happy with because he's just a solidly nice bloke innit xx the prewett twins return also to reprise their all-important role of Those Guys Who've Got It In For One Or Both Halves Of R/s...they will call those guys wankers in every lifetime it is romantic really. those are all the big definite roles i can think of !! i'll be more sure who's where once i start writing and stuff but im having fun with it atm im excited for when it'll be at a place where i can share more of it !!

Tian (and Zhu) is the protagonist of two of my projects, the original and its overgrown AU. The OG is........ A xianxia romcom bildungsroman like....... Swan-maiden myth meets FFIX meets Disney Hercules.......... And the AU is what I usually draw/upload, which is a neo noir like...... FFVIII meets........ Drive (2011)....... Meets........... I think he's best understood thru the way other ppl talk abt him – so here are a couple names/epithets!

With his name specifically, Tian Tian, 田 “field” + 天 “heaven/day/sky”, is his entire character – simple, no frills, unassuming on paper, but also strong, steady, salt of the earth. It's a name that once you see him both does and doesn't do him justice, like surely there's something fancier and yet between those two characters you already have the world. The name is also 9 strokes altogether! Fav number and an auspicious one – 9 heavens + if you've ever seen an imperial dragon robe, it's 9 dragons with scales in multiples of 9, eg 81.

A few bonus reasons I chose 天:

I associate him with swans (symbol of beauty but also violent, aggressive birds), 大天鹅 Big Heaven Goose

Single-character names are so elegant/Tough to me

Canonically seen as a "Fifth Great Beauty", literally a man named Heaven, the H is for Husband TO ME

FACT I decided on the monk thing after I named him and I think it's funny. His Dharma name is 釋恒心 Shi Hengxin btw which means "monk", literally, and "resolution"
