#suspected traitor Izuku AU

Note
In suspected traitor au, I believe that Izuku should just leave Aoyama high and dry, because after what he’s been through Aoyama didn’t bother come clean to save everyone the broken trust and heartbreak that he has caused. If anything after this Izuku deserves to be spiteful and unhelpful to Aoyama and everyone else who betrayed him.
It would greatly depends on when Izuku learns that Aoyama was the traitor because if he has enough time to cool down, he will be able to see that Aoyama was acting under duress. He won't be nice but he will understand.
Now, if you want to make things painful, if you have Aoyama who was one of the only ones to take Izuku's defense, and maybe they stayed in contact after Izuku left, only for that almost-friend to be revealed as a traitor... Now, that would hurt.

Oh God, They Think I Did It
Suspected Traitor! Izuku au
Masterlist
Ao3
Summary : Izuku Midoriya lost his notebook, and now he is faced with his accusing teacher. One by one, those he knew begin to turn on him, and still all he can think of, is how after middle school - the dejection still hurts just as bad.
--
But here his teacher stood, dangling quirk resistant cuffs in front of his hooded eyes, his face greyed with disappointment. He felt his heart tighten, pulling in on itself as he stared into those dulled eyes. That look… heartbreaking, a teacher seemingly lost all trust in him. He flinched from some unknowing sting. The teachers in his middle school, well they had always looked down upon him, ever since it was made known he was nothing but a quirkless little boy. Yet, that pain of constant dejection felt like a lesser burden than watching the hope leave his once caring teacher’s eyes.
Chapter 1 - The Accusation
His hands gripped either side of his desk with nervous strength, feet sternly secured to the floor, he sat rigid against his chair. Izuku Midoriya watched his teacher, Aizawa Sensei, with absolutely strained eyes. Fear, and nerves itching against his expression. He had lost it, somehow, his notebook. Recorded his every note on every new quirk he had come across, hell he had even rewritten in greater depth previous analyses he had made. The notebook had left his person less than a week ago, he had been certain he had simply left it in his homeroom class. At the time, his dear teacher had told him no such item had been found.
His certain trust had been placed in Aizawa, as he had ducked in some form of a thanks and had not questioned his teacher further at the time. Had he missed the signs? The unloving stare of dark eyes in all honestly had not felt out of place, nor had his teacher’s stiff posture. Aizawa, Izuku figured, was really just the type of person who acted like that.
Surely Present Mic’s more awkward demeanour was not correlated? Had his recent classes with the man really been affected by the cruel accusation? Midoriya felt dumbstruck, the blonde hero had awkwardly waved him off upon his first arrival in this week’s class, not even making eye contact with the student – had it not been an off day?
*
Yesterday… these pieces were all sliding into place, assembling a painful picture in which Midoriya becoming isolated was once again the centre. Mina Aishido’s uncomfortable shrugs at the dorms had not bothered him at first, when she told him that there were no usual group outing that previous afternoon he had believed her, not thinking much of it when he found himself eating dinner alone at the table that night. Takeaway katsudon in front of him, and his phone sitting in his hand. The front door opened with a squeal; his ears greeted with bubbling laughs from some feminine voices. Ochako, Tsuyu, and Hagakure stepped through the opening. He went to openly welcome them, opening his mouth widely. Then Iida, Sero, and Kirishima stepped through, followed shortly by Mina and then the rest of his classmates. The students mindlessly went about their own way, not taking in Midoriya.
The room had mostly filtered out, and Mina approached him, dropping a palm to his shoulder and a grin split across her face. “You mustn’t have received my text!” Again, she smiled, and her hand dropped from Midoriya’s shoulder. “Maybe next time?” She took her leave, her pink face strained as she held a smile.
Midoriya held tightly to the belief it was just some great misunderstanding, despite ice enclosing his heart and a thin wall, he breathed in a wobbly breath of suddenly hot air.
Bakugou came to stand by him, his eyes not reaching his own. Arms crossed; he angled his head away sharply. “Don’t think too much of it, dumbass,” he said, his voice rough and quiet, almost pitiful. “Mina and the others were just fucking stupid.” Bakugou inched over, dropping a plastic bag on the table by Midoriya.
The green headed boy paused, placing down his chopsticks as he reached over to pull the bag closer to himself. It felt light, and unsurely he looked to his classmate to silently get permission to open it. He was greeted with nothing more than a slight ‘tch’. Regardless he slipped his hand inside, fingers clutching on a singular cold juice box.
“Kacchan?” Confusion dribbled down his face, his lips creeping to an uncertain line.
“It’s just orange juice, Ochako seemed worried when she realised you weren’t there,” Bakugou muttered, gritting his teeth slightly. In all honesty, that did lift his mood, Ochako was not one with the privilege to be sending many texts from her phone, and to know he was not forgotten by his first friends put a shimmer of sunlight on his hurting heart. “She was going to get you some crappy soda- quit smiling dumbass!”
He attempted to muffle his grin, Bakugou stormed off.
*
Oh- his classmates had known. Ochako, wary around approaching him, had made her own secret code to ensure trust in their friendship. And even Kacchan, his friend turned emotionally constipated classmate, had refused to believe he would go so far as to become a traitor to their school, despite the belief of even their teachers.
Aizawa was still watching him. “Let us just make this easy,” the man said solemnly, outstretching his hand to Midoriya, the cuffs still dangling. “Put them on.”
Put them on? His pride fractured, struggling into little cracks that bled with arrogant coldness. His teacher was testing him. Midoriya felt his eyes slither into a calculating look as he watched his teacher, his own analysis taking place. The man wanted a reaction from him, a personality switch, or a suspicious calmness – either way, he was too look guilty. It was a power move, both knew Midoriya could do nothing against Aizawa’s quirk and raw strength. Knowing the reasonable professional of UA, Aizawa must have already informed other staff. Midoriya was trapped, looking god-forsakenly guilty. He hung his gaze, reaching for the cuffs, taking them into his own hands.
“It’s-“ He felt his own stutter choke him, flashing a glance to the taller man, eyes red and hair drifting. “It really wasn’t me,” he whimpered, clicking the first cuff tight around his wrist. His teacher made no sound, his cold hand wrapped itself around the young student’s wrist, locking his other wrist into the other cuff. It clamped into his skin with a tight metal bite, it was sure to leave pink and bruising rings against his freckled skin.
“The car is outside,” the man said. All so suddenly, his teacher’s face blurred, scratched out of sight, coming into focus and then just as quickly leaving. The pro hero shepherded him through the school. And no matter how hard Midoriya scrunched his face, twisting his neck to watch the man, his head only bleated with a startling anguish as he tried to recognise his betrayer.
Surely, this was his teacher? Yet when he searched him, it was an ice blur. How could a stony face, and displeased eyes belong to Aizawa. Midoriya felt his feet glue to the wooden pale floor. His teacher flipped, fingers entangling themselves on Midoriya’s shoulder, gripping violently on his uniformed shirt. The sting of pain, the seething hatred at suddenly flaring red eyes. No. Absolutely not. He fell back, crashing to the floor, arms raised defensively over his face. “No! You aren’t my teacher!” he hissed, twisting to lift his leg into some threat of a kick.
“Get up,” he said, teeth grit and lifting his own foot. Midoriya’s eyes fell open, jaw unlocking as he watched in momentary anticipation. And his teacher’s foot fell, atop his own, pressing his foot stern against the floor. “Threatening me now? I really don’t wish to see you looking any more guilty.”
Tears wettened his heated cheeks, sucking in a sigh as his teacher pulled him to his feet, and they continued down the path to his own damnation.
A notebook, he left behind a notebook, and now he was off to the cops, turned on by his peers, and had a sickening bruise begin to swell against the middle of his shin.
When he finally came to face the police van, Aizawa opened a black umbrella, hiding them from the peering eyes of civilians who began to slip the phones out, ready to record Midoriya’s demise.
“Shitheads, get your fucking hands off of her,” a voice wheezed, cracking with noise and anguish. Midoriya tipped his head to peer ahead. Bakugou had his hand terrifyingly close to a reporter, one who had wrapped her hand around that of the wrist of his friend Ochako’s. It seemed to be that only that reporter and her cameraman had caught on to the surprise arrest taking place at the school.
“Midoriya! Izuku,” Ochako said, ripping herself away from the kerfuffle, she went to leap forward but Bakugou held her back – holding her by her backpack. His eyes were slimmed into a death-giving glare, aimed at their teacher, his mouth pulled into sneer.
Instead, what he did, to both the shock of Midoriya and his teacher, was drag himself and Ochako into the waiting van. His hands blowing up in blasts of explosions when the officers inside went to ask them out. “This arrest isn’t even warranted yet! Shit, does Aunt Inko even know?” He spat, snatching at a pair of cuffs and fitting them on. “Like we’d let you steal our classmate.” The powerful words accompanied by the only two students who had bothered to come to his aid.
Midoriya suffered a long breath as his teacher turned to raise an eyebrow at him shortly before pulling him into the vehicle.
*
When he was finally pulled into the interrogation, he could only see Ochako cover her eyes, Bakugou putting his back flat to the wall and crossing his arms, unmoving. The door fell to a shut, two officers alone with him in a room. One a certain 7’0 tall, with no eyes, just a smooth stretch of skin and pointed teeth. The other- stood at solid 5’11, expression tugging into one of certain displeasures, and when he met Izuku’s eyes – he felt his throat go raspy and dry. Nerves or a quirk? Regardless, he grew grim as the two men leaned over him, holding the familiar notebook.

Suspected traitor au but izuku is so beloved that instead of going through a horrible betrayal where all his class gets convinced he's a traitor, they all get successfully convinced that he's a traitor and THEN proceded to abduct organize his escape and join him. He's baffled because everyone keeps giving him different cryptic reassurances they trust him with the assumption he knows he's a traitor. He, not being a traitor, does not know anyone thinks this and is getting a little frustrated with the whole thing.

Prompts that got taken down on AO3 #17
This is a Suspected Traitor fic idea, but better because so many that I've read, I disagree with, even if I admire that the things I don't like were done for angst purposes, and worked great.
However, like I said at the beginning, this is a book of things I want to read or write, soooo.
Izuku is the Suspected Traitor because of his notebooks, obviously. However, unlike normal, they don't go rifling through his room.
Aizawa is blunt, and already doubts that Izuku is "evil" or a "villain", AND he values privacy and discretion, so after dinner one night, he goes up to Mido's room, and basically says, "Hey, kid, there's a traitor in the school, and they think you're it. They want me to take your notebooks to go through as proof. Sorry my dude"
Izu basically goes, "oh worm? I already thought there was, All Might and I had talked about it, but I understand why my notes would be sus. Here, I have nothing to hide. There are some potentially questionable things, but it wouldn't be true analysis if I only had good stuff, yk?"
Maybe throw in a little bit of some bullying history explanation from Izu to Zawa? Izuku writes down the key to his 3 level code, sticks it in the top notebook, and hands him the last few, plus his oldest one to prove it wasn't new at UA.
Zawa apologizes again, and takes them with him, Izu goes to Kacchan and explains. (just realized that the fic ideas where kacchan/baku is in a good light, have kacchan, neutral have Katsu, and negative have Baku)
Kacchan is heated, admits that he knew that Izu was better at analysis, and that's why he got mad about the books when they were younger. He volunteers to head to the office after Aizawa and doesn't bother to wait for an answer. He gets there, knocks, sticks his head it, makes his statement, and then sits or leans on the wall outside to wait. The only reason he's polite in any way is because he realizes that this is important, or he could be short one now-rival.
Let's assume this is in second year, so 2-A.
Nedzu doesn't even need to hear out Baku, as in the notebooks Izu has been theorizing who he thinks the traitor is, and also apparently All Might had made his own statement clear, by saying that he wouldn't have given OFA to someone he thought was working with or would turn out to be a villain. This statement was made very loudly.
Nedzu apologizes, and he and Aizawa and some select other teachers work together to figure out who the traitor is. (For my sake, because the Manga reveal was shit, it is NOT Hagakure, that's the obvious out, it is NOT Aoyama, though I can kinda understand, even if it turned out he wasn't, just it's not 2-A or 2-B or teachers.)
Pick a random business kid, no one would suspect a management or business kid, and they would easily pass under the radar, since no one pays as much attention to the other classes that aren't heroics or heroics adjacent.

Suspected Traitor AU, where Izuku is a General Studies student believed to be a traitor. In actuality he's just trying to murder his father.
This is a fun one! How to Murder Your Father is my all time favorite Dad for One fic so I will definitely be taking some inspiration from Gentrychild.
Izuku wants to murder his father because he's stuck in general studies. After Izuku was accepted into the hero course, his dad refused to sign the paperwork to let him enroll. It turns out that U.A. requires both parents' signatures because both must waive the right to sue given how much danger UA puts their students in.
Inko threatened to divorce Hisashi if he didn't let Izuku become a hero, but he laughed and reminded her that their prenup would leave her with nothing. Inko cried. This awoke the patricidal urges in Izuku. If Izuku kills his father, then his mom gets the life insurance money and Izuku gets to become a hero.
Hisashi is All for One, but Izuku doesn't know that. His dad made his mom cry, and that’s all he cares about. At U.A. he hones his assassination skills by spying on the hero classes and stealing tech from the support department.
When Izuku goes into murder mode, he looks a lot like his father. Several teachers notice this. Also, because Izuku keeps sneaking around he seems like a spy. Izuku becomes top suspect.
All Might is in total denial about Izuku's resemblance to All for One. He doesn’t know what nonsense everyone else is talking about.
Shouto Todoroki figured out everything except that Izuku doesn't know AFO is his dad. Shouto is keeping his mouth shut because he believes everyone has the right to murder their father.
Nezu is letting all this chaos happen as a smokescreen while he seeks out the real spy.
This is less angsy than the average suspected traitor AU because: 1. The people who suspect Izuku are all virtual strangers to him so it’s not a personal betrayal; and 2. Nezu has the situation under control and won’t let Izuku get hurt.

I had heard about it so I wanted to ask you if they really exist: Apparently it was pretty popular in fanfics to make it so Izuku making hero notes was seeing as some sort of problem, like Aizawa think he is a traitor or that he would put people in danger if a vilain got them. I honestly just find those things to be really far fetched, and just like an excuse to find something to citizens Izuku for.
I haven't read fics, but I have crossed fics (like I'll see it in a summary or tags, something like that) where it's often Midoriya would be suspected of being a traitor because of his note-taking.
Personally, the AU was never one for me because it's just... it's Midoriya, I can't imagine him as a traitor.
Also, now that I'm thinking about it... if Midoriya is supposed to be a traitor and it's supposed to be a secret... why would he be taking notes out in the open?!
Like, if I was a traitor, I would want people to be aware I was taking notes on them to report back! It doesn't make sense!
And if I was someone like Aizawa who suspected Midoriya as a traitor because of note-taking, I would have questioned how could he be a traitor if he doesn't hide it and even shares his notes!

Post-Midterm Fic Rec List
Hello, my dearest My Hero Academia Readers! Tis' Maud again, and I have a hoard of fics to give to the masses again. I managed to save about 102* My Hero Academia Fanfics that I told myself that I would read..and ended up putting on the back burner.
So, since Midterms are about to be happening on my college campus...I decided to make a Post-Midterm Reading Fic List to share with anyone who’s interested!
I’ve gone through and tagged the authors of these fics! So you can see their other works and send them love through Tumblr. I tagged everyone that I could.
If I missed any please tag them or message me so I can!
Important Note: This list is divided by 4 Sections and in the order it’s:
Authors - Gen - Fluff - Romance
*There are 102 Fanfics that I planned on putting on this reclist. However, since I last did this tumblr has forced a word count upon me and it won't let me post it all together....so keep an eye out for the Angst and Dadmight fic rec list. I'll link it at the bottom of the post once I'm done.
If any fics are in the incorrect section please let me know, some of these fics I haven’t read and I sorted these fics based on the descriptions and tags.
- Gen Fics are all the fics that I personally wasn’t sure would fit into Angst or Fluff.
- I am, burnt out from my own midterms. please remember to read the tags on any and all fics.
Authors
CatchingPurple
CatchingPurple has a lot of geniunely cool ideas that I love reading. One that particularly caught my attention was the Suspected Traitor AU fic. That one personally makes me smile. I love their writing.
Mr_Unsmiley
I genuinely enjoy Mr. UnSmiley's series, Family is Everything (but you get to choose your family). I love the series so much and they're a genuinely talented author. I loved reading the aftermath of a fight they wrote, and how they described having to keep a list of the injuries he had.
s_the_queen
I have many mixed feelings about Bakugou, but oh lord Swag, Swag is my Achilles Heel when it comes to bakudeku fics. Lord I am a weak person, and Swag knows it.
Seeress
Seeress also has, a lot of fun bakudeku fics. Again. My weakness in writing. :sobs:
ThanksSmite
I found Smite on twitter. I combed through their AO3 and I am a happy clam.
CURATOR NOTE: Man, I am not realizing that these are all bakudeku writers (Except Mr. Smiley). Which is absolutely hilarious. I love all of them asdkfakjsdn

Why are "Suspected Traitor Midoriya Izuku" fanfics so painfully cliché and nonsensical?
The ONLY villain Izuku could be implicated in working with is Stain.
I thought this little subgenre of the fandom would produce a FEW interesting deviating AUs about Midoriya starring in The Fugitive. Instead, what I found was a poorly-written story template that erases 40% of Seasons 1 and 2’s plot points to make Hurt, No Comfort fanfiction about whumpee Izuku Midoriya having panic attacks from police brutality, and then attempting suicide.
The trend popped up in 2020, during the Overhaul Arc, but the fanfics feature so little in-story information and focus mostly on information from the first 5 episodes, with a hard emphasis on middle school. It feels like a MHA whump enthusiast started telling their community about an anime featuring a bullied crybaby and they flocked over. These stories have so little understanding of the actual anime, they read more like the writers only understand the story by other people’s fanfiction. Clips of the show, at best.
So, below are common flaws in these whump stories, how they could be improved, but ultimately how dropping the "He's working with the League" plot point and having them suspect him of working with Stain is far more plausible in-story.
This is all with the FULL UNDERSTANDING that these stories are supposed to be about an innocent Izuku being persecuted, betrayed, and heartbroken so that he can fall into despair, be abused, cry crystal tears of suffering… I’m into that shit. I had already leafed through a hundred or so stories of Bakugou and Shigaraki abusing him. And I wouldn't have read SO many of THESE stories if I wasn't looking for good content... It's just that even the most popular stories on AO3 are SO weaksauce.
Elevate yourself. Do better.
Ignoring Police Procedure because the Authors Prefer Nonsensical Accusations
The authors want to get to police/UA staff beating Izuku in an undisclosed basement as soon as possible… Which I wholeheartedly appreciate, but I suppose its a matter of taste that I don't share their opinion that Izuku's heartbreak is sweeter if the accusations make no sense.
I’d prefer either changing key details in the story so that the investigation has a plausible accusation (actually write the League framing Izuku) OR using the literal plot of the anime and being clever about what accusation could be made and by whom.
I read a story where Izuku was framed with a video of him setting fire to the school and because Aizawa and All Might were so mad, they skipped investigation and a TRIAL and just held Izuku in a sensory deprivation prison for five years. The League has a shapeshifter AND a clone-maker, y'all. I did a find search of the entire story. No one mentions Toga or Twice, not even once.
Story Ideas:
At summer camp, the League could implicate Izuku as their mole and reveal that kidnapping Bakugou was part of Izuku's payment. Hell, let Izuku run into the portal, restrain him, kill Bakugou, throw Izuku to All for One so that he can be miraculously healed of ALL of his injuries and tell him, "Good luck getting All Might to believe you weren't working with us." Because if the story is ALWAYS going to be "no one bothers to call Tsukauchi The Human Lie Detector until after they've mentally and physically scarred Izuku for life" ... could the prompt for the betrayal be a bit more interesting?
Or after USJ, Bakugou tells Aizawa Izuku’s “I was given a quirk” confession that, when paired with All Might telling him about All for One, leads Aizawa to quickly and quietly detain Izuku. (Which is also a good cautionary tale about why the hell Kacchan gets to be in the loop but Aizawa has no idea what's going on.) I mean, c'mon, the plot of MHA is basically begging for Izuku to confess that he was given All Might's power and Aizawa not believe him because, hello, All Might clearly still has his quirk.
Erasing 40% of the story to make a plot-holes doesn’t make Izuku’s heartbreak any sweeter. Making characters OOC requires massaging the plot, anyway. If you’re going to change Aizawa to foaming-at-the-mouth irrational or change Class A to being “so scared” no one assumes Izuku must have been coerced into working with Shigaraki information… the LEAST you could do is come up with an interesting red herring to explain why an underground hero lost the ability to do a proper investigation?
Izuku Writes Creepy Notebooks
For most of these stories, this is the only evidence that Izuku was working with the League, in some stories, Aizawa beats Izuku for simply having the notebooks; thinking he’s League traitor isn’t even mentioned! I can see why the bloodthirsty whump writers like this: the notebooks are connected to middle school bullying, so Class A resenting them can quickly segue into Izuku having PTSD panic attacks and running to make his first suicide attempt.
These stories also completely ignore that Izuku asks people questions. Authors will write that Izuku wrote several pages about Uraraka but never, ever actually talked to her to answer his questions: Would she lose her quirk if she loses even one finger (like Shigaraki)? Should Hatsume make protection gloves? How about Ashido, Bakugou and Todoroki? Would Todoroki's powers still work with protective gloves like Bakugou?
But, am I a bad person for wanting a bit more meat on this bone? Instead of Aizawa/Nezu expelling/arresting Izuku simply because they fear the notebooks could be used for evil in the future, doesn’t it sound plausible to believe and heartbreaking for Izuku to have to prove that "most of Stain's victims are profiled in the last few of Izuku's notebooks." (It would still be circumstantial evidence since, if Izuku writes profiles on hundreds of heroes across 15 notebooks, some of them being Stain’s victims is just par for the course. But I prefer this idea over “Izuku OPENLY writes in his notebooks every day, but doesn’t that just prove he’s the traitor even more because we’d assume no traitor would be stupid enough to spy on us in our faces? Gyah! His evil genius is staggering.")
PS: If Bakugou points out that shitty Deku has been making these notebooks for so long, #1 is more of a coloring book of his favorite heroes... he either gets called a traitor too and thrown into prison to be beaten or everyone's response is simply "But they exist! They EXIST! They are creepy!"
Let’s Ignore the USJ/Internship Plot, Even Thought the Fanfic is about the USJ/Internship
Izuku passed on information about Class A to Shigaraki... even though a major plot point of USJ was that Shigaraki didn't know anything about Class A's abilities.
Insist that Izuku’s multiple, painful self-sacrificing moments were all just covers for his evil plans. Either that, or don’t mention them at all, because pointing out that he broke his legs to help All Might sounds like too good of a reason to trust him.
Let’s erase All for One, Gran Torino, and the Nomus from the story because we either need All Might to assume Izuku told Shigaraki about his injury or the story features a quirkless Izuku and the accusation that All for One was rewarding him with a secret quirk is too logical to be allowed. All Might/Nezu/Aizawa cannot be allowed a plausible reason to assume Shigaraki seduced Izuku to the dark side.
Completely ignore that Tsukauchi The Human Lie Detector wrote Izuku’s statement.
Izuku did Summer Camp… Because
Since this is the arc that introduces the concept of “a traitor in their midst,” this trend just crammed Izuku into it without making it fit. So now most of the 400 fanfics are stuck rewriting a few templates of Class A and the teachers accusing him for no reason and ignoring what actually HAPPENED at the summer camp to do so. Because… he has notebooks…
Again, insist that Izuku’s multiple, painful self-sacrificing moments were all just covers for his evil plans. Either that, or don’t mention them at all. Because two broken arms, going out of his way to save a little boy, coming up with plans to save several classmates, and contributing to the arrests of two villains sound like too good of reasons to trust him.
Izuku TOLD the Pussycats who the target and was part of the vanguard protecting him. Without that message, Mr. Compass would have still captured Bakugou with NO ONE being the wiser. No, let’s go one step deeper. Izuku could have left Bakugou behind during the final exam so that he would be forced to take remedial lessons. If the kids who failed really were staying behind, Izuku would give that address. If it was just a logical deception, Izuku would give that address.
Honestly, I've never seen a "he told the League where the summer camp was" story that actually talked about what happened at the summer camp. These fanfictions will have CHAPTERS of Izuku having panic attacks from middle school days and never mention Bakugou... the reason for Izuku's lack of self-worth. Authors will give Izuku trust issues with teachers to make his panic attacks because of Aizawa more heartbreaking... and never, ever mention that Bakugou is the reason teachers didn't help him.
Completely ignore that Tsukauchi The Human Lie Detector wrote Izuku’s statement.
Overhaul is Such a Touching and Courageous Arc that it is Never Mentioned
Sometimes, sometimes... the whole "Gyah, Izuku makes creepy notebooks so lets turn on him!" plot happens after the Overhaul Arc... But his actions during the Arc are NEVER mentioned.
I do recall two stories: One where Aizawa accused him of working for Stain, the League and Overhaul at the same time and when Izuku points out that makes no sense, he gets punched and told not to talk back... And in another, they just accuse Izuku being the mole who informed the yakuza of the sting operations... and no one, not even the Big Three mention how little sense that makes.
Everyone shut up. Beating the every-loving shit out of Kaiju Overhaul and single-handedly saving the tortured girl are nothing compared to creepy notebooks.
Assuming Stain and Izuku are mentor and pupil
By using the plot of the anime...
Nezu/Aizawa/All Might assuming middle school Deku imprinted on Stain the moment he heard a “All Might alone is worthy” speech is a much better assumption than … oh, right, without All for One in the story, there is no logical explanation how NEET Shigaraki recruited Izuku, when he couldn’t even recruit decent henchmen for USJ.
I like the idea of Stain disabling the two heroes who didn’t save Kacchan. Two cowards scolding a child for being braver than them? Since Stain’s arc is a year and some change from Ep. 1, if those two heroes were among the first he ever attacked, it could cause someone to double-take that their last patrol before being forced into retirement was featured on the news with two future UA students.
Stain SAVED Deku from Shigaraki. For any Pro Hero to assume that means Izuku was working with Shigaraki instead of Stain is like watching a girl stick her tongue down a guy's throat and doubting they are a couple because you saw that girl snatch a weave off someone she hates in the school parking lot.
Stain followers, in plain view of Pro Heroes, have declared Izuku as equally a true hero as All Might, saved him, or helped him save the day. Not only was Toga instrumental in Izuku's success in the Overhaul Arc (and Uraraka and Aizawa were aware of that) but the only reason she HAD Izuku's blood was because of a discreet little meet-up during the PLE that could have gone completely unnoticed, except Sero, Mineta, and Kaminari loudly said they saw Izuku interact with a naked girl. Shit! Well, now Izuku has to mention Camie to Beast, it would be out of character to NOT ask.
The Mall Encounter implicates Izuku so much, I'm actually getting scared. IS Izuku Midoriya a Stain follower?! Here is the monologue straight from the DUB: "What's the difference? Your goals, your villains... I don't understand you. I don't agree with the Hero Killer either, but I can understand him. Because the Hero Killer and I have something in common. We're inspired by All Might. That night, he even saved me from the flying nomu. He's a maniac, but he doesn't destroy things because it sounds fun. And when things were looking bad for him, he didn't abandon his mission... Like YOU did. Even if what he did was wrong, he held true to his beliefs. That's the difference."
Now, when Tsukauchi The Human Lie Detector took Izuku's statement after the Mall Encounter… because yes, he takes Izuku’s statement after every fucking crisis, people… even if Izuku repeated that monologue word for word, all Tsukauchi would hear was the confused a innocent hero-in-training.
If Nezu/Aizawa/All Might read back that statement, they could EASILY reinterpret it as an idealistic young pupil disappointed that he couldn't convince his master to spare the lives of all of the fake, unworthy heroes he'd profiled for him. (This serial killer killed 17 and injured 24, now. That's a whole lotta people not killed for a serial killer.) How EASY would it be to suspect that Ingenium was only alive because Izuku pleaded his case? How EASY would it be to think Izuku only sent the signal to Class A to get Iida away from his master ASAP before he had to choose between his mission and his new friends?
And just to wrap up in a nice, neat bow how much the Mall Encounter makes Izuku look like a Stain pupil, the fact that it happened at all looks like Shigaraki flaunting how vulnerable Izuku is with his master in jail. A rogue looking to recruit the quirk analyst prodigy he suspects was that asshole's Player 2. "I hate everyone. But the Hero Killer pisses me off the most.” Izuku tried to act as ignorant as possible. “Wasn’t he one of your guys?” But then he dropped character when Shigaraki dared to compare himself to his master. Shigaraki asked why Stain had more YouTube views and Izuku responded with a shockingly personal declaration on his respect for Stain and All Might.
… Seriously, I’ve gaslit myself into thinking Izuku really is Stain’s pupil...
At this point, I’m just working out the kinks on either an actual traitor AU or a reasonable doubt fugitive AU.
Conclusion
I love making characters suffer. I genuinely do. I can tolerate melodrama for the sake of characters suffering. I love OOC because I equally love Aizawa beating Izuku and Aizawa dating Izuku... If someone has a recommendation on both happening at the same time, I'd appreciate it.
But I just don’t understand the appeal of lazy writing or nonsensical characters WITHIN the context of the story being written. Every time someone says "Izuku sold information about us" all I can think about is that Shigaraki has never understood any of Class A's powers. Just write that Izuku wanted the League to kidnap Bakugou. Use the fucking anime.

Can you plz tell me a bit about mob mentality and the manman fics?
Mob mentality has 2 chapters already here and is (accidentally) a suspected traitor au where Izuku is arrested by the Commission because of his 'extra' quirks
The manman fic is a wip about how our cringe-fail boy became a hero in the first place and how Mayuu became his sidekick

For you what can be well done an AU where Izuku is suspected of being the traitor, in addition to making who will be on his side and who will be against it? I'm already starting to say that if there's All Might bashing I don't even read it.
I have yet to see what I consider a well done Suspect Traitor fic. The closest I've seen is Whispered Tribulation which is specifically a deconstruction of the other ones. The standard formula they adhere to requires too many characters to be really, really stupid to work in any capacity.
For me the ideal Suspected Traitor fic is one where the teachers lie to Midoriya. They don't know if he's the traitor, so they're testing him by giving him false information, like telling him they have a summer camp is one place and seeing if the League shows up.
This has all the angst because Midoriya would realize pretty quick that the teachers are lying to him but not why, but without anyone involved being an imbecile.

In Suspectes Traitor you said: "But of course, you’re right, Pocket. Shouto would probably keep trusting Izuku ever if he finds him with a villain makeover, stealing quirks, and cackling like a lunatic."
As if that isn't half of Anyone's plot
Anon, there is no need to call me out like that.

Wishing on a Dead Letter
Wishing On A Dead Letter by 0ddAmountOfSleep
Izuku Midoriya is anything but average. Living his life as the #1 villains son and being forced to work with the League Of Villains has had a toll on him. He's had to adapt to their standards and build himself to stop feeling and to act…
But what if he wanted freedom. What if he didn't like being the bad guy.
OR
Izuku is working as a spy for the league of villains but Kirishima and Aizawa are suspicious of him. If they find out, will they help him escape or send him to prison?

the vestige afo au;
:000 im guessing all might thinks afo is dead and his ghost is haunting midoriya or something? like am thinks that if he can't have ofa then having a ofa user be his puppet/continue his legacy would do?
and like im guessing that when am finds out afo Is alive he's freaked out even more because what the fuck is he planning with Midoriya like he's clearly friendly with the kid and the kid's friendly with him but he's still clearly out there being evil so either afo is trying to manipulate the guy's successor or something else is about
(toshi' would probably have his suspiciouns of izuku being a traitor or something but would like (bear with me all of my info of mha is second hand) either feel really feel really bad about it, think mido has a good heart still and was likely forced into it and like asking increasingly worried questions, or like have his suspicions butll try to ignore it, maybe a mix of all three? kind of like a hope for the best prepare for the worst senario)
Oh man I didn't even think about the traitor aspect of it! He'd probably think Izuku was being used or something in that case, yeah!
Overall, pretty close! For the most part, Izuku is pretty good at pretending not to see AFO, so All Might thinks he's just seeing things at first or that AFO's ghost is messing with him specifically. I had planned originally that after the fight at Kamino, All Might is no longer able to see vestige AFO but I'm on the fence about it now. Especially since vestige AFO can temporarily take control of Izuku (as long as Izuku lets him, he can't forcefully take control in this scenario) so AM would definitely suspect something when Izuku's hair and eyes keep switching colours.
AFO also convinced Izuku not to tell All Might anything as well, so I can see All Might assuming vestige AFO and the "real" AFO are the same and getting worried about that

Treated with Care
Treated With Care by Arceus Insanity
Suspected traitor Midoriya, but not really.
Nezu knew they had a traitor, but their staff and themselves needed to know how to handle a suspect. If they either wrongly suspected someone or the traitor was being forced, they needed to handle the suspect with care. And what do you do when your school needs its staff to know how to handle a delicate situation, you run a drill.
Basically suspected traitor au, but they remember they have a living lie detector and are dealing with children
