I Only Want You
Request: My request is a story about a reader who has been in love with Sam for a long time, but she is insecure. When Sam starts training other hunters, she hears a conversation from another hunter saying that she is interested in Sam. The reader thinks that Sam also likes this huntress. This huntress realizes that Sam is in love with the reader and lies to her saying that Sam asked her out on a date, trying to keep them apart. However, they manage to overcome this and confess their feelings.
Pairing: Sam Winchester x Reader
Masterlist
Story:
[Y/N] was in the passenger seat of the Impala for a change. Sam was driving, and Dean was asleep in the back. [Y/N] rarely got to sit up front when both brothers were present, but Dean had been sent to the back of the car by Sam in the late hours of the night. They'd finished up a hunt late the previous evening, but couldn't find a motel with any vacancy, so had decided to drive through the night to get home. About four hours in, Sam had noticed Dean veering off to the side, and when he looked over, Dean was obviously finding it difficult to keep his eyes open. So, Sam had made him, with much effort, pull over and get into the back, giving [Y/N] the opportunity to sit up front.
[Y/N] was tired too. Not quite asleep, but she'd let her eyes close and had one of the boys' flannels wedged between her head and the passenger door. There was no music playing, but she could hear Sam humming quietly as he drove, tapping the steering wheel with his fingers. It had been a warm day, and although it had cooled down during the night, the air was still humid. The humidity and Sam's humming, along with the length of the day, was sending [Y/N] to sleep. Sam glanced over to her, watching her features illuminate as they passed a street lamp, and he smiled to himself. He then glanced into the rearview mirror, spotting Dean, slouched against the back seat and snoring quietly. Sam sighed in content, feeling nothing but comfort with his present company, even if they weren't interacting. [Y/N] had only come into Sam and Dean's lives a year ago, but she meant everything to them.
***
The sun had risen by the time Sam pulled into the bunker's garage, stirring [Y/N]. She blinked and rubbed her eyes, yawning as she recognised the familiar room. She looked back at Dean, who was still snoring, and she smiled as Sam chuckled. He held his finger up to his lips and she nodded in understanding, carefully and quietly opening her door to get out without disturbing him. Sam and [Y/N] made their way to the kitchen, not speaking until they got there. "How long do you think he'll be out?" She asked as she sat down at the table, and Sam made his way to the coffee machine.
"As long as he needs, he has a lot of catching up to do".
"I don't know how he functions on three or four hours of sleep a night. I'm surprised he wasn't falling asleep on the hunt", she said.
"Yeah, he's used to it", Sam shrugged, walking over to the table and handing her a mug. She quickly wrapped her hands around it and took a sip.
"Thanks", she sighed.
"Hey, I actually wanted to talk to you about something", Sam said as he sat down opposite her with a mug of his own. She felt her heart beat speed up a little. She'd imagined Sam saying something like that to her, followed by his confession that he wanted her. She knew it wasn't likely, but her heart still had hope.
"Yeah?" She asked, trying to sound casual.
"Dean got a call from Bobby yesterday, apparently there's this group of relatively new hunters near him", Sam took a sip from his drink. "Their apartment complex was trashed by a vengeful spirit, they all saw it, and now they want to be hunters. Bobby said there's three of them, and they're clueless. He ran into them on a werewolf case, nearly got themselves killed. He wanted to see if we'd be open to taking them in and training them up".
"Oh", [Y/N] nodded, trying to sound interested, but hiding her disappointment. "And... are we? Open to taking them in?" She asked.
"Dean and I wouldn't mind", he shrugged. "So it's up to you. They'd probably be here for a couple months. If you'd rather not have them here that's fine too, it's your space before it's theirs".
"Yeah, no of course I'd be open to it", she nodded. She would've preferred not to take them in, she quite liked the home she had in the bunker with the Winchesters, and occasionally Cas, but it sounded like they really needed some training and she didn't want to be the one to stand in the way.
"Cool", Sam smiled. "I'll talk to Dean when he wakes up. It might be nice to have some more people around for awhile, it can be quiet with just the three of us", he chuckled, standing up to wash his mug. She couldn't help but feel a tiny bit hurt by that, like just having her and Dean around wasn't enough for Sam, like she was too boring for him.
"Yeah", she breathed out, shaking off the hurt and standing up to wash her mug too. He smiled as he walked past her, heading out towards his room. She sighed as she scrubbed her mug at the sink, wondering if someone like Sam could ever have feelings for someone like her, feelings stronger than just friendship. Maybe it was for the better though, a relationship could complicate things since they lived and worked together, and she didn't want to lose either him or Dean.
***
"So, this is Sarah, Will, and Owen", Dean introduced the new hunters to Sam and [Y/N], guiding them into the bunker's library. He had driven off to go get them early in the morning, and [Y/N] and Sam had been getting rooms ready for them. "This is my brother Sam, and this is [Y/N]", he said, pointing to each of them.
"Hey", Owen nodded at the two of them.
"So you're all seasoned professionals in this hunting business, huh?" Will asked. [Y/N] thought he had a kind smile. He was small, pretty thin, and didn't really look like the hunters she knew.
"Yeah, I mean, there's always room to improve", Sam said, gesturing around at the books on the shelves. "There's a lot of information out there, and in here".
"This place looks huge", Sarah said. "How many people live here?"
"It's just the three of us", Dean said. "We've plenty of room though".
"Yeah, and we're happy to share what we know with you", Sam smiled at Sarah, and [Y/N] saw her blush. She felt a little bit anxious, like she was under threat, but she quickly pushed that feeling down, telling herself not to be territorial over Sam, that he wasn't hers. "Why don't I show you to your rooms? You can unpack, we'll probably get take out for dinner". [Y/N] caught Dean's eye as Sam spoke and he winked at her; obviously the take out was Dean's idea of a welcoming. "Here, let me take that", Sam smiled again as he reached out for Sarah's bag, and she smiled back at him. [Y/N] thought there was a bit too much smiling going on just between the two of them. He didn't offer to take Will or Owen's bags. [Y/N] watched as Sam led them out of the room towards the bedrooms, and Dean raised an eyebrow at her.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"What?"
"You look worried about something", he shrugged and she shook her head.
"Nope, not worried about anything", she looked down at the stack of books on the table and began to pretend to be distracted by looking through them.
"Okay... well, the three of them seemed okay on the drive here. They're enthusiastic, but clearly need training, both physical and lore".
"Yeah", she agreed. "How long do you think they'll be here?"
"Two or three months? We'll just get them a bit fitter and give them the basics on how to go about finding answers in the lore. This isn't a permanent thing anyway".
"You don't think the bunker is too quiet, with just the three of us?" [Y/N] asked, echoing Sam's words from the day before.
"Do you?" Dean asked, folding his arms and looking down at her, watching as she shook her head. "Yeah, neither do I. I think the three of us plus Cas sometimes is fine the way it is". His words brought [Y/N] a bit of comfort, it felt like Dean was on her team, even though they were all supposed to be on the same team, and it wasn't open to new applicants.
***
The next few weeks were a lot more structured and organised than life usually was at the bunker. Sam had the three new hunters out for runs every morning, then they'd all have breakfast together in the kitchen, answering any questions that popped up on lore, and then they'd spend a couple of hours researching before lunch. Dean usually excused himself from the research part of the day, electing to go on supply runs or work on his car by himself. After lunch was usually focused on physical training, with the boys and [Y/N] coming up with different scenarios they'd found themselves in on hunts, and teaching the three hunters how to defend themselves or save others. They'd even taken the three of them out on a simple salt and burn case too. It hadn't gone as well as it should have, but it could've been worse too.
"So throwing holy water on vampires will burn them, right?" Sarah asked while she was taking a break from training to drink some water. She had come over to the corner of the training room where [Y/N] was looking through some of her notes.
"No, holy water won't do anything to vampires", [Y/N] shook her head. She was frustrated with Sarah. She didn't seem to really be taking anything seriously and was more focused on getting Sam's attention in any way possible. Sarah had seen more of Sam since she got here than [Y/N] had. She was constantly touching his arm, twirling her hair, and acting cute around him. [Y/N] had started to avoid them, only seeing them for a few training sessions over the last week or two.
"It's dead man's blood that weakens vampires, and you can't just throw it at them, you have to inject them".
"Right... so what's holy water for then?"
"Demons".
"Hey, you two talking about demons? I don't think we've covered them yet, they're kind of an advanced subject", Sam said as he walked over to the two of them, brushing his hair back with his hand and wiping a thin layer of sweat from his forehead.
"Yeah I just thought I'd do a bit of research on my own. [Y/N] was just saying how you can throw holy water at vampires, but I'm pretty sure it's demons, right? And for vampires it's dead man's blood?"
[Y/N] stared at her, open-mouthed. She felt an anger start to grow within her at Sarah's lie, and she was about to ask her what on earth she was talking about when she saw Sam smiling. "Yeah, that's right! It's good you're doing your own research too". He lightly tapped her arm in encouragement and she smiled up at him. "Let's get back to it, I want to show you and the others a couple more moves with the knives".
She watched as Sarah followed behind Sam back to where Dean was showing Will and Owen how best to hold a blade. She no longer felt like she was in the mood to teach anyone, so she grabbed her towel to wipe her face and left the room.
***
[Y/N] had showered and was laying on her bed, scrolling through her phone when there was a knock on the door. She sighed before looking up at it and pushing herself off the bed. She dragged her feet towards the door, not in the mood to talk to anyone, and opened it to find Sarah smiling that smile she'd come to hate at her. "Uh, hi?" She said, Sarah being the least favourable option to answer the door to.
"Hey... can we talk? I want to apologise for earlier", Sarah tried her best to look apologetic. [Y/N] furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, but stepped aside and widened the door to let her in.
"For lying and making me look bad?" [Y/N] asked, folding her arms and looking at Sarah as she walked into the room.
"Yeah... look, it's nothing personal, really. Just, girl to girl, I hoped you wouldn't mind making me look good to Sam".
"I'm pretty sure Sam already thinks you look good", [Y/N] said, that mixture of anxiety and jealously bubbling up inside her again.
"Well, I know he thinks I'm pretty", she giggled, flicking her hair back over her shoulder. "He's told me as much", she shrugged, and [Y/N] swallowed back some more jealousy and hurt. "I'm talking about like... intelligence. He's a smart guy, I just wanted to prove myself to him, show him that I'm not just a pretty face".
"And you're gonna prove to him that you're intelligent by lying to him, instead of actually doing the research? You know that this building has more information on lore than anywhere else in the world, right? It's literally right there in front of you".
"Okay, yeah, I get it, you're pissed off at me, and I understand why. It doesn't matter now anyway, he's taking me out to dinner tonight, so it worked. So, thanks for not saying anything back there!" She grinned at [Y/N] and spun around to walk out of the room, leaving [Y/N] staring after her. She knew she should've spoken up when Sarah had lied right in front of her, but she was so shocked at how confident she was. She had also been thinking about it while scrolling through her phone; surely Sam knew that [Y/N] wouldn't say anything about using holy water on vampires? If anything, she'd specifically say not to use it, like she had. Why didn't he say anything? He just believed Sarah? He just assumed [Y/N] didn't know how to hunt vampires, after all the hunts they'd gone on together? She walked over to her door and shut it. She didn't like the anger or jealously she was feeling, so she was going to distract herself with a movie or two. Unfortunately, all she could think about was how Sam had never invited her out for dinner before, not unless it was Dean's idea and he was going too.
***
She was halfway through her second movie when there was another knock on her door. The jealously hadn't exactly disappeared, and she felt a spark of it run through her when she imagined it was Sarah again, coming to gloat about her date with Sam. Sighing, she shut her laptop and rolled off the bed, before slowly opening her door. She felt a slight relief when she found Will on the other side. "Hey", he greeted happily.
"Hey, what's up?" [Y/N] asked, trying to hide her mood.
"Dean made burgers, he said they're your favourite and asked me to come get you".
"Oh, yeah okay, sounds good", she smiled at him as he stood back from the door to let her out. Dean's cooking was always a treat, and she figured she'd probably be less miserable with company than sitting alone in her room with her imagination. They started walking towards the kitchen when Will spoke again.
"I'm leaving tomorrow, by the way, and I think Owen is too".
"Oh really? Do you feel like you're ready?" She asked. She also wanted to ask if that meant Sarah was also leaving, but she knew she wouldn't have it that easy.
"No", Will laughed. "Not at all. I am beyond grateful for everything you and Sam and Dean have done for me these last few months, but I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not meant to be a hunter. I think I'm gonna go back to my day job and maybe just help out on research when needed".
"Yeah it's not for everyone", she smiled at him. "What about Owen?"
"I think he might want to keep it up, but just local stuff. I think he'll be going back to his job too". He looked at her and noticed she seemed distracted. "I don't know about Sarah, I haven't really had much time with her since we got here".
"Yeah, I'm not surprised", [Y/N] sighed just as they got to the kitchen. No one but Sam had spent much time with Sarah, she was focused on him, and only him.
"Hope you're hungry", Dean grinned as the two of them stepped into the kitchen. [Y/N] decided to push her thoughts of Sam and Sarah out on a date to the back of her mind, and to try and enjoy the evening.
***
[Y/N] only made it half way through her burger before she felt too nauseous to continue. Thoughts of Sam and Sarah enjoying their date, sharing a kiss, or holding hands kept pushing their way to the front of her mind. Her knee was bouncing up and down under the table and she was staring down at her plate. "Something wrong with it?" Dean asked and [Y/N] looked up at him, immediately embarrassed as she realised a tear had spilled from her eye. She quickly wiped it away with her sleeve and shook her head.
"No, it was great, I'm just not feeling well". She stood up from the table and turned away, ignoring Dean as he called after her, his voice full of concern. She quickly walked to her room and closed the door, falling down face first onto her bed. She hoped that her pillow would muffle her cry. She tried to ignore the knocking on her door. She didn't want Dean to see her like this, not when it was over something like jealously. Especially not when Sam was his brother and he would be on Sam's side no matter what.
"[Y/N], if you don't open the door in the next five seconds I'm coming in", he called out, and she took a shaky sigh. Dean always followed through on his threats. She sat up on her bed, legs dangling off the side, and wiped her eyes.
"You can come in", she said, looking down at her lap. She didn't look up as she heard her door open and close, and she listened as Dean walked over to her bed and sat down beside her. He nudged her with his elbow, his way of letting her know he was open to discussing emotions. When she didn't say anything, she heard him sigh and felt him nudge her again.
"You gonna make me say it?" He asked, looking down at her.
"Say what?"
"You're clearly upset about something, and I know it's nothing to do with my burgers. Spill".
"It's stupid".
"It's not if it's making you cry. Come one, did someone say something to you? Has someone hurt you?"
She shook her head as she wiped a tear away. "It's um... it's about Sam".
"Sam? You two okay? Have an argument or something?"
"No, nothing like that".
"Then what?"
She sighed, and finally looked up at him, and then he knew. He could tell by the hurt on her face.
"Ah", he said, nodding in understanding. "You should tell him".
"I can't, it's too late", she said, shaking her head, but he frowned at her.
"What do you mean? How is it too late?"
"He's on a date with Sarah", she sniffed, and Dean scoffed before chuckling. She furrowed her eyebrows at him. Why was he laughing when she was crying and he knew she was hurting? Was she right, that Dean would always take Sam's side? Did this mean she'd have to keep her distance from both of them? Possibly leave the bunker? Leave the team?
He looked down at her, noticing how she seemed to be somewhere else, her eyes staring off into the distance. He nudged her again to get her attention. "I can't tell you if he likes you back, but I would be very surprised if he didn't, you're a catch", he smiled. "What I can tell you, is that he's not on a date with Sarah".
"What?" She was feeling a bit overwhelmed by her thoughts, she wasn't sure she heard him properly.
"Sam's not out on a date".
"But Sarah said..." She trailed off, the confusion now increasing.
"I think I see what the issue here is. Did she tell you she was going on a date with Sam?" Dean asked and [Y/N] nodded. "Yeah... she may have misinterpreted that".
"Then where are they?"
"Sam and I had a little discussion the other day when I finally caught him alone. Neither of us can see any of the three of them as hunters, especially not Sarah. She's hopeless. She couldn't fight to save a fly, never mind herself or anyone with her. She's sloppy, and lazy too, she couldn't answer anything on lore when I quizzed her about it last week", he shook his head in disapproval. "She nearly stabbed Owen at practice today after you left. I yelled at her and Sam got so angry he left the room. I spoke with him after, he said she needed to go and that he wanted to be the one to tell her". [Y/N]'s eyes widened in surprise as she listened to him, maybe he hadn't believed her after all, maybe Sam was on her side.
"As for Owen and Will, they're not as bad as Sarah but they're not cut out for it either. I spoke to them after practice and they agreed to keep it as a side business. Sam's taken Sarah out to talk to her in private, telling her that she should stick to the day job and move back to her apartment. As much as I dislike the girl, we didn't want to embarass her in front of her friends, you know? They could actually take on a minor case here and there if they really wanted to. She shouldn't be anywhere near it".
"Oh", she said, the jealously and anxiety she'd been experiencing for the last few months finally dissipating slightly. "So, he doesn't like her?"
"Are you kidding? She's been following him around constantly since she got here, he can't wait for her to be gone". He smiled reassuringly at her, but she still looked upset. "She's not his type anyway", he added.
She scoffed quietly before rolling her eyes at him. "What, he doesn't like pretty girls?"
"Oh, he does, but Sammy needs intelligence too. Good thing you've got both". He grinned as he watched her blush and look down to her lap, and he felt like he'd done his job when he saw her smile. "Come on, Will and Owen have gone to pack up their things. I'll give you my second burger". He stood up and reached his hand out to her, and pulled her up.
***
Dean and [Y/N] were still in the kitchen, chatting when Sam arrived back. All hints that she'd been crying were now gone from her face as she laughed at one of Dean's childish jokes. "What's so funny?" Sam smiled as he walked over to them. He noticed [Y/N] look back to Dean, who stood up and shook his head at Sam.
"Nothing you'd get. I better go see if I have enough gas to drive everyone home", Dean said as he walked past Sam, patting his shoulder and smirking as he left the two of them alone.
"Hey", Sam said as he sat down opposite [Y/N].
"Hey", she said quietly back to him.
"I feel like I haven't seen much of you lately".
"Yeah, me too. How did your talk with Sarah go?" She asked, and he let out a long sigh, leaning back in his chair.
"I'll be glad to have my personal space back. She's packing up right now, they're leaving tonight. How do Owen and Will seem?"
"They don't really seem too bothered, I think they were close to giving up on it on their own anyway", she shrugged.
"Let's not volunteer to help out so quickly next time, what do you say?" Sam asked, and [Y/N] quickly nodded. "Did she get on your nerves too?"
"Yeah, I wasn't really comfortable around her".
"Hey, look", Sam leaned forward towards [Y/N] across the table. "I'm sorry I didn't call her out earlier when she threw you under the bus. I just thought it would be better to leave it up to you if you wanted to deal with it there or in private instead".
"It's okay", [Y/N] shook her head. "I thought you believed her though".
"Not for one second", Sam laughed. "God, she was annoying".
"I actually thought you liked her", [Y/N] shrugged.
"Really? I mean, sure, I thought she was attractive at first, but that personality... no, definitely not something I like", he shuddered, and she giggled. "I've missed that sound", he smiled at her and she immediately blushed, looking down at the table. "I've missed you".
"I've missed you too. You could've talked to me about it though, you know? If she was bothering you that much".
"I know, but I really didn't have any time to myself, she was everywhere I went", he sighed, his face falling. "I didn't want to be rude and tell her to leave me alone, and at the end of the day I just wanted to go to bed".
"Still", [Y/N] shrugged. "You know I'm always here for you. You can always talk to me about anything".
"Thank you. It's the same for you, if you ever want to talk about anything, I'm here". When he smiled that genuine smile at her, Dean's opinion about her telling him how she felt came to the front of her mind. Taking a deep breath, she figured it was now or never. After how her body and mind had reacted to seeing Sam and Sarah together, how she felt when she thought they were on a date, she knew her feelings for Sam were real.
"There um, there is actually something I'd like to talk about".
"Yeah?" He raised his eyebrows. "Please, go ahead". He was paying full attention to her, and she felt nervous, but strangely comfortable too.
"I have feelings for you", she said, and he immediately grinned. "When I thought you wanted her... it physically hurt".
"Well that's a relief", he chuckled. "I uh, I have feelings for you too".
"Really?" She asked, sitting up straighter.
"Yeah, I have for awhile". Her heart skipped a beat when he stood up and walked around the table, holding his hand out to her. She took it and he immediately pulled her up out of her seat, pulling her close. He settled his hands on her waist and she looked up at him. He looked younger somehow up close, the years of hunting and living out of motel rooms less evident. Or maybe it was just his excitement shining through. She let her hands slide up his chest and onto his shoulders, smiling as his breathing got heavier at her touch. He lifted one hand to cup her cheek, gently stroking with his thumb and studying her face. "You're so beautiful", he breathed out. "I want you. I only want you".
She took a shaky breath, feeling overwhelmed, but now in a good way. "Sam?"
"Yeah Sweatheart?" The nickname stirred some butterflies in her stomach and she was sure he'd be able to hear her heart beating against her chest.
"Can you kiss me now?" As soon as the question left her lips, he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. Her eyes fluttered closed and she grabbed the collar of his flannel to ground herself. Sam didn't pull back, breathing through his nose instead as he pushed his tongue into her mouth, meeting no resistance. Her hands found their way into his hair, pulling slightly and earning a moan from Sam. He turned his face to get a different angle, and hooked his hands under her thighs, pulling her up onto the table, lessening the height difference.
Finally, she pulled away and opened her eyes, finding Sam staring at her lips. They were both catching their breaths, and they smiled at each other. "Can I kiss you again?" He asked, and she nodded, but put her hands on his chest to stop him from leaning back in. He stared at her in confusion but she giggled and shook her head at him.
"I think we should go somewhere more private", she said, and Sam immediately nodded in agreement.
"My room?"
"Your room", she nodded, and squeaked when Sam lifted her, his hands firm under her ass as she wrapped her legs around his waist. He walked her out towards the bedroom, and although he tried, he couldn't wait, and began kissing her neck as he carried her. Neither of them noticed Dean coming out of his room, and he didn't say anything as they walked past, but he was happy for both of them. He knew they'd be good for each other, and he'd always be on their team. He only hoped that the others were finished packing so they could all get out of the bunker before he heard any noises that he'd never be able to unhear.
The end

Just Rest Will You? - Dean Winchester
Tumblr media
A/N: Ahh, how I miss writing for Supernatural. Definitely discovered I can’t write as well for this fandom as I can for others, but here I am! I’m writing at least one fanfic for every character I’ve ever written for (with a few exceptions) because why not! Dean Winchester is story #3!
“How’re they doing Sam?” Dean asked harshly as his foot pressed the pedal of the Impala further down. “Sam?!” There was a whimper, then a groan, coming from the back seat. Dean’s eyes furrowed in worry. “Hang in there Y/N. We’re almost to the hospital.”
“They’re losing a lot of blood,” Sam answered, pressing his flannel harder against your wound. “Stay with us, Y/N. You’ll be ok.”
And they were right. When you arrived at the hospital the doctors kept you overnight. They gave you a blood transfusion and stitched you up. With the assurance of Sam and Dean, they let you go home. You were miserable, though. You were stuck either in your bedroom or the living room. The brothers wouldn’t let you do anything, even research. You were allowed to read, but that was it. No case searches, or anything that would cause you stress.
What the brothers didn’t know was that not doing anything stressed you out more than any hunt ever has. You felt useless, laying around while Sam and Dean searched for anything that went bump in the night. You tried to get up and move around. Searching for books to read but they forced you to lay down and let them do it all for you.
One night it was just you and Dean. Sam went out to get groceries and pick up dinner, leaving on the couch in the library and Dean sitting at the table. You had a hard time standing still, however, and it was driving Dean insane. You tried several times to stand and browse the shelves, or go to the kitchen for a drink, but he stopped you every time.
“Quit moving around,” Dean griped from the table. You were trying to take a nap, but you were so anxious you couldn’t sit still. You kept moving around, rolling over or sitting up every minute. “Just go to sleep already.”
“I can’t--” you were cut off by a sharp pain in your side where your stitches were. Then you felt blood running down your side.
“That’s why,” Dean said with a sigh, rushing over to you. He lifted up your shirt to assess the damage. “You pulled your stitches.” He stood. “I’ll be back.” Dean returned a few moments later with a first aid kit, instructing you to lie down so he could patch you up.
You pulled your stitches again the day after, only this time Sam was with you. He was letting you help him cook. When you reached up in the cabinet, you felt the same stinging pain in your side. Sam had to restitch them.
Dean confronted you that night while he was helping you to bed. “Why can’t you just take it easy and rest?” he asked, throwing your blanket over you. “You're driving me insane, baby.”
You looked away from him. “You don’t get it.”
“What do I not get?” He sat down beside you.
“I hate feeling helpless,” you confessed, tears welling in your eyes a bit. “I can’t do anything except lay around while you and Sam work on saving the world.”
Dean placed a hand on your shoulder. “Well, you can’t get any better if you keep injuring yourself.” His thumb rubbed against your skin gently. “I get that you want to get back to work, but tearing your stitches is only slowing you down. Sam and I are just trying to look out for you.”
You sniffled, then nodded. “I know, but I don’t like feeling like this.”
“Scoot over,” Dean instructed. You did as asked, watching as he slid under the covers and laid down beside you. His arms wrapped around you gently, carefully avoiding your wound. “You’re not helpless, Y/N.” He pressed a kiss to your head. “Now get some rest, and take it easy. You’ll be back in shape in no time, I promise.”

sam's hand, lifted by his elbow, raises to wrap against your bedroom door. he can see it now, dean’s disappointment showing evident on his face when he’d inevitably tell him he couldn’t do it or that you refused to answer again. his jaw clenches then releases numerous times - and by god his hand is nearly shaking trying to knock against your door.
truth is, he’s afraid. afraid of what he might find one day when you don’t answer and he gets brave enough to break down the door.
you aren’t the same. but he knows no one could after spending a year in flames - a year in the pit.
a familiar sting of pain rings out in his chest at the thought. sam knew fixing people was impossible; hell he’d tried too many times with dean to know it was. but he’d be damned if he wouldn’t help you pick up your pieces and glue them back together.
dean’s leg is shaking as he lays back on his bed - that frustrated line in his brow as he thinks over what could be going on a few doors down. he has a sick feeling it isn’t good. that you won’t answer, that you might be dead in there. and he throws himself up from his bed at the thought.
they’d been where you were - he wanted you to realize that to at least let them in again. he knew you would look down at the handprints on your arms and think about it - hell dean still glances over his shoulder in the shower or when he shaves and thinks about being pulled out by cas.
but this. this was eating you - he saw you crumble by the day. him and sam both.
you spent your days curled in bed, eyes fixed on the wall with visions of hell plastered behind your eyelids playing like a film you couldn’t escape. you’d scrub your skin to rid the permanent feeling of slick blood dried on your skin. you’d cover every inch of you if it meant to hide the healing wounds and bruises and scayou’d pull your hair back taught behind headbands and clips and bandanas if it meant you didn’t have to feel your hair touch you like it felt when  you were down there. rs. you changed your body wash and lotion to a scent you didn’t remember.
but worst of all. you saw it in their faces. saw that look that said they saw you like that. naked and bloody from the pit, following you anywhere, you were puddy in their hands.
looking at them was a reminder that it was real. you couldn’t escape your brain - you had to live with it. and a burning guilt ate at you besides the constant reliving of it that you were failing them.
the next morning you showered, pulled your hair back, wiped tears from your eyes and cheeks, and covered your hands with your long sleeve shirt and flannel (stolen from dean’s arsenal he kept) and met them for breakfast.
it was nerve wracking enough to step out into the world outside of the safe space of your bedroom. shaky handed, watery eyed, your knees almost buckled at the thought of having to do it.
you villainized the idea of touching someone after you returned - it’d been a week since you saw the insides of hell, and six days since looking at sam or dean. your greatest comfort turned so sour in your mouth - you only yearned to gain that comforting feeling form them again.
you knew they’d never hurt you,
up here at least.
when you turn the corner, the skin around your eyes a sickly shade of red and your eyes as well - dean looks like he’d seen a ghost.
you shuffle out further and clear your throat - sam turns from his spot at the stove. the smell of coffee warms your insides, and you stand at the table and feel small beneath the two set of eyes focused keenly on you.
at any second you’re waiting on fire to spurt from the table and engulf the room and to be reminded you’re still in hell - but it doesn’t happen.
dean stands, ditching his coffee and computer.
your eyes focus on the floor, but for a moment they dart upwards to meet dean’s. he’s got that soft look - melted like butter. the line in his brow is soft, concerned, worried. it’s killing you. his fists clench once by his sides. you decide to keep your eyes on him.
you remember dean before hell. his metallica and motley crue records - the way he ate his burgers, that one time you sneaked a couple of strips of bacon in one you’d made with him and you thought  he’d pass out right then in there. the way he always smelled woodsy and his working-man-hands were surprisingly kind. the way he’d squeeze your shoulder and force you to tell him that you’d be careful on a hunt. how his hugs felt, how he kissed the crown of your head when you found out your parents were dead.
you owe something to them.
“i-i…” you swallow, and bring your hands together to wring them nervously. dean sees the water growing on your lash line and wishes you’d just stop. you don’t need to do this, you don’t have to do this. “i-i know i’ve been… away… since-” you bite the inside of your cheeks.
“anyway. sorry for not being more active.” every word you say sounds like it’s exasperating; like death could claim you at any second. you look up to sam across the room for only a moment, you decide not to think too much on the look on his face and instead focus back on the floor for a moment before looking back to dean.
“i’ll be better- i don’t know-” you feel his hands push your shoulders into his arms, meeting his body with a small bit of force.
it’s all overwhelming for a moment - but nearly immediately your eyes are watered over. he feels like a strong force. there in that moment you couldn’t be taken, you wouldn’t be - not like this. you were back, and human, and they were human, and real, and not figments of hell made to hurt you. this was dean. dean was holding you.
“i’m here.” he says, a whisper. you wrap your arms tight around his middle, his hand cradles the back of your head, presses you further.
“i know.” you respond, tearfully. that dam breaks like force, and you’re weeping into his sleep shirt, the tremble of your arms around him has him soothing your hair with his palm.
“we’re here, sweetheart.” you pull from dean, if anything to look at him and to remember him this way instead of that fearful look he had while sam wrapped a jacket around your battered frame the night they pulled you.
he braces your forearms first, but his hands are everywhere. he soothes the sides of your face, clearing hair from you and your neck, holding your jaw with care before squeezing your arms again.
“you don’t owe us an explanation.” sam speaks up. he’s wilted, tired even. his facial hair is growing in a bit, and he looks handsome and a bit aged like you always remembered.
you nod your head and wipe your face, tightly holding onto dean’s arm for a moment before you turn to sam and begin to walk towards him. “you don’t owe us anything. we want to help you.” sam’s large hand soothes over the top of your head before swiping over your wet cheeks.
your mouth is downturned, you fall into his hold. his cheeks leans into the top of your head, hand running over your back.
you remember sam before hell. he always smelled warm, and he always was. his embrace, his hands, his voice. he was gentle - always the one to care and ask and plead. you remember the way his face lit up on christmas when you got him a tolkien book set and an audible subscription. he hugged you with tissue paper still in his hands. you remember the way he was always patient at patching you up after hunts and how he’d always share his bed if you had a nightmare.
when you part, sam has that look in his eyes like he’s asking for permission. his hands are focused on your sleeves, fingers tucked into the edges waiting for your okay. dean’s coming up behind you when you nod, feeling the gentle way he braces your forearm with his opposite hand as he pulls up your sleeves to reveal the litters of scars and wounds and bruises - not only that, but the healed over handprints conquering your skin.
sam’s hand wraps around your forearm just over the grip of the handprint on your left arm, dean’s smooths over the one on your right.
“we’d never stop fighting for you, kid.” dean reminds from your right. you look up to him and nod.
“i’ll never stop fighting for you guys either.”
~
the bath water was pink. though the water was warm you were shaking in the tub. your wounds ached at the feeling of water in them, muscles relaxed in the warmth yet you’re still on high alert that it isn’t over.
dean pours water over the back of your hair, sam gently rubs off dirt from your nails.
your eyes are focused clear on the wall in front of you.
“it’ll be okay.”

You’d known Dean all your life, practically. You met him when you were six and he was eight; two lonely little kids stuck with absent (job-driven) fathers and baby brothers you felt responsible for. Over the course of the last eighteen-or-so years you ran into the Winchesters during hunts enough that you considered them family.
When Sam left for college you were there for Dean and when you lost your dad in a hunting accident Dean was there for you. He actually stayed with you, not wanting you to hunt alone since your brother was off at college too.
So, for the last six months you’d been hunting with Dean (who hadn’t spoken to Sam for over a year).
“One room, two queens,” Dean said to the woman behind the counter, placing “his” credit card on the space between them before sliding it toward her.
“We’re all booked up I’m afraid,” she said.
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, I was actually about to turn on the no vacancy sign.”
“This is the third motel we’ve been to,” you said, “every one of them has been full—you’ve gotta have something!”
“I mean, there’s technically one room left but the heater’s out and my boss said not to let anyone sleep there because of that.”
There was a silent pause; you and Dean shared a knowing look.
“We’ll pay in cash, your boss ‘ll never know,” you told the woman. She smiled and nodded as you paid her with cash.
“Room 209, my boss gets here at ten tomorrow morning so please leave before then.” She handed you the key and you nodded in thanks.
You had underestimated just how cold the room could be, but when you unlocked and opened the door you understood why the owner didn’t want anyone staying here.
“Son of a bitch,” Dean mumbled, following you into the room and feeling the cold air. “We’re gonna freeze our asses off in here!” he quickly closed the door behind him, hoping the icy air hadn’t swept any snow into the room.
“It’s either this or we sleep in the Impala,” you shrugged, “and, no offense to your car, but it’s fuckin’ uncomfortable to sleep in.”
“And there’s only one bed,” Dean sighed.
“I’m gonna take a quick shower,” you told him, ignoring his complaints.
**
“Are you shivering or crying?” Dean asked.
You rolled over so you could meet his stare; “Shivering! It’s fuckin’ cold in here!”
“You wanna…cuddle up, maybe?” he asked hesitantly.
“Excuse me?” you laughed a little.
“Look, I’m not thrilled about it either, but it’s cold in here and unless we both wanna catch fucking pneumonia we better be smart and share body heat.”
You sighed, weighing your options; “Fine. But we never, and I mean never speak of this again, you hear me?”
“Understood.” He nodded.
You rolled back over as he scooted closer to you. He wrapped his arms around your waist from behind, pulling you into his chest.
“This okay?” he asked quietly, his lips ghosting the back of your head.
“Yeah,” you mumbled back. “Thank you, Dean.”
**
You woke up to the sound of Dean snoring loudly. You were used to his snores, sure, but he’d never been this close. He was laying on his stomach and resting on your chest; his mouth open and his hair tickling your neck. Your first reaction was annoyance but then it quickly washed away as you realized you didn’t want to move a muscle, so Dean could continue sleeping.
And the more you laid there, listening to his snores, the more you realized how comfortable you were…even in such a physically uncomfortable situation.
As the time passed and the sun began to rise, you cursed the light that was slowly but surely peeking through the curtain and onto Dean’s face.
“Morning,” he mumbled to you as he lifted his head up. He rubbed his eyes with the back of his right hand before wiping his mouth. “Sorry,” he chuckled, noticing the small spot on your gray sweater dampened with his drool.
“It’s okay,” you mumbled back. “I think it’s your sweater anyway.”
“I thought it looked familiar.”
He rolled off of you and out of bed.
You watched as he padded across the dirty carpet and over to the small kitchen. He turned on the coffee maker and the loud, off putting grinding noise made his face scrunch before he quickly shut off the (definitely broken) machine.
“So much for coffee,” he grumbled. “You gonna sit there all morning or you wanna get outta here? We’ve got a long drive ahead of us.”
“I’m getting up,” you replied. You would usually be annoyed at him for rushing you to wake up, but this time the annoyance was…different. Something about his bedhead, the way his lips were pouting over the lack of caffeine, and how he looked in his brown Henley and baggy sweats just made you wanna hold him again. All you wanted was to pull him back into bed with you and hold him in your arms forever.
**
You were beyond frustrated at this point. How many stupid fucking hotels had to have vacant rooms with two beds and a functional heating system!?
It had been nearly six months since you and Dean shared a bed and you had been looking for an excuse to sleep next to him ever since.
But the last couple weeks had been different—Sammy was back. Yes, you loved Sam like a brother, but you missed getting to be alone with Dean. You missed sitting shotgun in the Impala and watching him drive.
Sam definitely noticed the way you looked at Dean, but the younger Winchester didn’t say a word. Without being too obvious about it, he tried to do little things that would let you be close to his brother. He’d sit in a certain chair or part of the couch so that you and Dean had no choice but to sit together. Or he’d make some lame excuse so that he got his own room while you and Dean had to share. “I need to do some more research and I need the light, why don’t you two just sleep in the other room?” for example.
**
“Two rooms, please,” Dean said, reaching into his coat pocket for his wallet.
“Unfortunately we’ve only got one room left,” the cashier replied.
You almost couldn’t believe your ears, fucking finally!
“Oh, that’s too bad,” you faked your best frustrated look, of course Sam saw right through that.
“Well, I am not sharing with either or you,” he said with a teasing smile.
“There’s actually a pullout couch in that room, as luck would have it,” the cashier informed the three of you.
God fucking damn it, you thought to yourself.
**
It was barely after two when you felt the bed behind you dip, and you shook yourself awake.
“The hell?” you asked, still half asleep.
“The pullout couch isn’t working,” Dean mumbled quietly. “You mind sharing with me?”
You smiled a little and scooted closer into his arms, indicating you were okay with him sleeping next to you.
“Of course I don’t mind sharing with you,” you whispered and his grip tightened.
**
“I’m gonna go get breakfast,” Sam announced. “I’m assuming you want your usual?”
Dean put his right pointer finger to his lips and furrowed his brows angrily. He gestured to you as you slept and Sam got the message.
“Usual is good,” Dean whispered before Sam left.
Dean stayed laying perfectly still as you slept on his chest, soft snores escaping your lips and to Dean they were the sweetest sound.
As you stirred awake slowly, he rubbed your back a little.
“Morning,” you mumbled, a small smile on your lips. “Where’s Sam?”
“He went to grab breakfast,” Dean told you.
You furrowed your brows as you sat up, looked across the room, and realized something; “The pullout bed looks fine? I thought you said it wasn’t working?” You turned back to Dean, who had a sheepish grin growing on his lips.
“So…maybe I’ve just been looking for an excuse to sleep next to you again. Like we did back in that motel when the heat was out.”
“Really?” You attempted to hide the smile trying to find its way onto your face.
“When we were checking in last night I noticed how your face lit up when they said there was only one room left,” Dean admitted. “And I saw that disappointed look you made when they said there was a pullout couch. So, am I wrong, or have you been wanting an excuse too?”
“I really liked sleeping next to you that night,” you said, avoiding eye contact. “And you’re right, I have been hoping for another ‘oh no just one bed, guess we’ll have to share’ situation but…”
“But what?” Dean asked when you trailed off. You looked down at him.
“Dean, you and Sam have been like my brothers for as long as I can remember. I mean, Bobby practically raised all three of us and my actual brother as siblings! Your dad and my dad knew each other basically forever and I guess…I guess I figured our lives are too entangled for anything to ever actually happen between us. We’re family.”
“Chosen family, Y/n.” Dean smiled softly. “Doesn’t mean you have to be my chosen sister, you could be my chosen…you know…”
You leaned down and placed a soft kiss on his full lips.
“That,” Dean finished his previous statement.
“Let’s just keep this between us for now, okay?” you suggested. “If Sam finds out, then your dad will find out, and he’ll immediately tell my brother, then before we know it Bobby—”
“I get the picture, sweetheart,” Dean chuckled before kissing you again. He put his hands on your cheeks as he sat up. He pulled you onto his lap, your legs now straddling his hips. His hands moved to your shoulders then trailed down to your lower back as yours went into his hair. You pulled away from him after a moment, huge smiles on both your faces.
You looked into his eyes, his truly beautiful eyes, and you bit your bottom lip ever so slightly. Your right hand rested on his left cheek, your thumb stroking his skin lovingly.
“You’re awesome, Dean Winchester,” you whispered.
“You’re fuckin’ incredible,” he replied before he kissed you again. “And gorgeous, too,” he added. “You know how fuckin’ annoying it’s been, sleeping without you every night since that one time?”
“I do know, Dean, I’ve been just as annoyed about it.”
Dean kissed you one more time before he wrapped his arms around you in a tight embrace, tucking his head into your neck. You wrapped your arms around him too, pressing your lips to his temple.
You pulled out of the hug so you could once again look at his face. Resting your forehead on his, you smiled before you kissed him again.
“Breakfast,” Sam called out as he opened the door, “is served!”
You and Dean froze for a split second before you hurried off of him.
“Shit, I’m sorry,” Sam said, “did I interrupt you two?”
“What?” you scoffed. “Of course not!”
“Interrupt? There’s nothing to interrupt?” Dean added.
“Oh…wow you two are fast,” Sam mumbled, shaking his head as he made his way to the kitchen before putting the food down. “Well, pancakes, eggs, and bacon from the continental breakfast.” He gestured to the food now on the table. “Hope you’re hungry.”
As Sam sat down to eat, you looked at Dean anxiously. Say something you begged him with your eyes.
“Sammy,” Dean started as he got out of bed, “would you mind uh…not telling dad? About me and Y/n…kissing just now? When we find him, I mean.”
“Dad’s never really been invested in your love life, but he’s not an idiot,” Sam laughed.
“So…you are gonna tell him?” Dean furrowed his brows in frustration.
“Dean, he knows you two are together, it’s not some big secret?” Sam replied, shoveling more food into his mouth. “Damn that’s good.”
“Okay, just hold on—what?” Dean asked. “What do you mean dad knows? There’s been nothing to know since like four minutes ago?”
“Wait,” Sam stopped eating and fully turned to face you and his brother, “are you trying to tell me this is the first time you two have kissed?” Sam furrowed his brows deeply as you and Dean both nodded. “So…never in high school?” You shook your heads again. “That prom we crashed?”
“Sam you were there the whole time? When would we have kissed?” you asked.
“Huh,” Sam let out a laugh. “I genuinely thought you two had been a thing since like… ‘98.”
“What!?” you and Dean exclaimed in unison.

Hiii!! Firstly, I love your writing and I hope you’re having a great day!! I was hoping to request a Winchester sibling fic where the reader is really comforted by physical touch but is really observant and receptive to the fact their brothers are emotionally constipated and touch starved so the reader has never really asked for it but then one day either just a bad day or bad hunt and the reader just asks the boys to hold them or one of them to sit in the back of the Impala with them? Thank you so so much and I hope you have a lovely day!! 🫶
So close, yet too far.

Life as a hunter was never still. You were constantly moving. Constantly looking over your shoulder. Constantly chasing what could be your last day on earth. And you wouldn’t ever have said you regretted it. No. In fact, you wouldn’t have changed it for the world. Hunting creatures and saving the world? It was all You couldn’t have imagined a better life…
But sometimes you found yourself wanting life to just slow down for a minute. It was so hectic and you just needed a breath. A hug. With such a busy life, there was no time for just spending quality time with your brothers. Or anyone for that matter. It was an endless cycle: Wake up. Research. Hunt. Drive. Sleep. There was no time for sitting on the couch and watching cheesy movies together. Nor was there any time for curling up together like you used to do when you were smaller. You found yourself yearning for it. For a hug or simply just a gentle arm around your shoulder. It used to bring you so much comfort. But times were tough with all that had happened recently. The three of you were even more on edge than ever before.
Your brothers had always told you that you could ask them for anything. That you could tell them whatever you wanted… but this wasn’t just something you could ask them for. You had seen how they often shunned away from touch. From relationships. Having seen so much pain and having lost so many people…they struggled to allow themselves to let their guard down enough to enjoy a tender moment. Even with you. So no matter how much you yearned for it you could never bring yourself to push the want from your mind and into words.
So when the hunt went worse than you could have imagined you kept quiet.
Dean’s hand was right there; peeking out from the hem of his flannel. His fingers were bloody and calloused, scarred and covered in small cuts and yet his touch was still tender. You felt your own fingers itch to reach out and lace them between his. You wanted for him or Sam to wrap you up in their arms and hold you close. To squeeze your hand. Or a shoulder. But you knew that they had much more pressing matters to deal with that overshadowed “needy little sister”.
You trailed behind them, dragging your feet ever so slightly to kick up the dirt and leave trails between the orange leaves. You did not look up at your brothers because you knew you would see Dean's set jaw and Sam’s pinched eyebrows as they too mourned the hunt.
A small boy had been caught by a shtriga. He had been no older than 5 or 6 with these big, blue eyes that got impossibly wider as the creature stalked toward him. And his scream…it pierced through the air like a beam of light: clear as day yet providing no clarity. No safety like light should bring. Instead it was cold and filled with a gripping terror.
The three of you had been too slow. No matter how hard you dragged your stubborn limbs you couldn’t get to him fast enough. So now you trudged along in silence.
The sight of Baby did not, in fact, provide you with the relief you thought it would. Instead the gleaming of the bonnet against the moonlight just made your stomach churn. You knew that you would all try to bury the memory in a box, deep in the back of your mind. But it was never that easy. They tried hard, but you would hear them late at night. Dean hardly slept as he tried to drink his troubles away and Sam barely left his room. And then there was you who lay awake staring blankly at the ceiling as you wept softly, wrapping your arms around yourself to curl up in a ball. It didn’t bring the same comfort as theirs did, like it had done when you were small and naive when you crawled into their bed after a nightmare. When things weren’t so fucking complicated.
Tears pricked in the corner of your eyes as you reached for the metal handle. You couldn’t do it. You couldn’t sit in silence to be left with your own thoughts. You couldn’t be alone. Not right now.
“Sammy…”  Your voice was quiet. Hushed. Barely a whisper pushed out on cracked lips that trembled.
Sam paused, his hand halfway between where he had been picking at the hem of his jeans and the handle of the passenger door. He lifted his head, humming softly in acknowledgement.
“Sit with me… Please.”
“Of course.” His face melted and he moved in one swift movement.
He slid in the backseat, leaning against the door frame and stretching out across the seats. He pulled you in to lean against his side, wrapping his arms around you. You lay your head on his shoulder, snuggling into his side. And began to weep.
“Kiddo?” Sam asked gently. “What’s up?” His hands traced small circles on your arm.
Dean reached over the back of the seat with a concerned look, though part of it could be easily mistaken for fear. “It’s not your fault, Sweetheart-” He started.
“Just…hold me. Please.” You clung onto Sam, your other hand reaching out to settle atop of Dean’s. Their touch was comforting, yet you couldn’t help the wavering as you wept. “I don’t want to be alone right now.”
And so they did. Sam nestled you further into his side, tucking your head beneath his chin and Dean clambered out of his seat to join the two of you in the back. He settled down on your other side, sandwiching you between the two of you. And they held you. They ran their fingers through your hair, held your hand and spoke to you. They held you tight and the three of you stayed close together, with no intention of moving any time soon.

You're Family to Us
Request: Hi! I am absolutely in love with your characters , hats off to your writing skills!!¡¡
Could you write something where the reader goes missing on mission and is held captive by some mythical creatures of your choice. After months she is finally found. She is very weak and traumatized. All scratch marks , bite marks claw marks etc depending on the creature. Frail, weak , dehydrated , malnourished barely able to stand without passing out first....The team nurses her back to health. Sam especially!
Lots of comfort❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader, Sam Winchester x Reader, Castiel x Reader (platonic)
Masterlist
Story:
She didn't know how long she'd been down there, in the tiny, dark, damp cellar. She didn't even know where she was, having been knocked unconscious before waking up here. She'd been on her way to visit the Winchesters and Cas, her found family, when she'd been attacked from behind at a gas station not long after the sun had set. One minute, she was filling up her tank for the last leg of her journey, and the next, she was in the cellar and aching all over in darkness. She'd been driving to the bunker to help them out with a case of disappearing people not far from where the bunker was, and now she was one of the victims.
She was sitting on the uneven stone ground, her back pressed against the one spot of wall that she'd found to be the least uncomfortable. She had her eyes closed and was hugging her legs, trying to keep in some sort of warmth. She'd searched every part of the small room at least five times, but the four walls were solid stone, the door was locked tight, and there were no windows. The only glimpse she had to the outside world was a small hole in the corner of the ceiling, which was letting in a steady trickle of rainwater from outside. It had been raining on and off since she'd been trapped in there. The droplets of water hitting the floor, and the whistle from the wind passing over the hole were the only sounds she'd heard going on three days now, or maybe it was four, since they had last came into the room. There had been another man in the room when she'd first woken up. He was scared, confused, drained. All she could get out of him was that these people, these creatures, would come into the room every few days and weaken him. He had said that someone else was in the room when he first arrived, and they were now gone. He told her that he'd soon be gone, and then so would she. The next time the creatures came into the room after she'd woken up, they took him, and she'd been alone ever since.
She no longer felt hunger, that pain had come and gone, but she was thirsty. She'd tried drinking the rain water but it wasn't enough to quench her thirst, just enough to keep her alive. She hadn't slept much either, every time she dozed off, her head would scrape against the wall or the floor and she'd wake again. The only thing that was giving her hope was the fact that the boys were expecting her, and she knew they would've started to look for her the moment they realised she was late and couldn't get in contact with her. Only several months previous, Sam had insisted she let him track her phone. He promised he'd only use it if she got into trouble, that he had the same thing set up for Dean, Cas, and himself, and that it had helped before. She was thankful now that she'd agreed to it; at least they'd know that she was at that gas station when she'd gone missing.
She pulled up her sleeve to check on her wounds. When she'd first woken up, her arms were stinging and covered in long cuts. Her mind had immediately jumped to claw marks from whatever had grabbed her. Some of them looked like they were healing, but there was one in particular on her right arm that she knew was infected. It was hot, red, and swollen. It was the largest of the cuts, running all the was from her shoulder down to her elbow. She wasn't able to move her right arm without a pain searing through it. She gently used her left hand to pull the sleeve back down after confirming that the infection wasn't improving. If she wasn't going to die of thirst or hunger, that cut was going to be the end of her.
***
She had become so tired that she could no longer keep her eyes open. She didn't even register the sound of the door opening, or the sound of footsteps on the found. She was startled by hands on her shoulders, shaking her. She tried to push them off with her good arm, but it was useless, their grip was too tight. Whoever they belonged to was shouting at her, but she couldn't make out what they were saying. Her eyes stayed closed as she tried asking what was going on, but it came out as an unrecognisable mumble.
"Cas! Get in here!"
"Sam? Is she in here?" Cas walked into the room, his angel blade at the ready, to find Sam kneeling down on the floor in front of [Y/N], who was slouched against the wall. He quickly walked over to them and crouched down, placing his hand on her forehead and closing his eyes in concentration.
"Can you heal her?" Sam's voice was desperate, and his hope fell away as he watched Cas shake his head.
"I'm sorry Sam, my grace is still low after that incident last week. I can sense that she's very weak, she needs food and water and her wound is infected. We need to get her back to the bunker, now".
"Where's Dean?" Sam asked as Cas stood back up.
"He's checking to see if there are any more, but I think we've killed all of them. I'll tell him we found her, can you get her to the car on your own?" He asked as he put his blade back into his coat. He waited for Sam to nod before leaving the room. Sam looked back at [Y/N], taking in how thin and ashen she was. His heart broke for her, seeing like this.
"Okay, come on, let's get you out of here". He reached around her back to pull her towards him, slipping his arm under her knees and standing up with her. "Shit", he muttered as he realised how light she was, he knew she had a long recovery ahead of her. Not wasting any more time, he headed out to get back to the car.
***
"[Y/N]?" Dean jogged over to Sam as he saw him come out of the building. He froze as he got closer, taking in her appearance. "Fuck", he ran his hand through his short hair, furrowing his eyebrows at her and then clenching his fists. "What the fuck did they do to her?"
"I don't know, can we just get her home? I just want to get her out of here", Sam said as he walked past Dean to the car, where Cas was waiting with the back door open. Sam maneuvered her into the back bench of the car, sliding in behind her and pulling her over to hold his arm around her. He could tell that she was awake but just too weak to open her eyes or speak, so he wanted to try and keep her as comfortable as possible. Her head lay on his shoulder and she only stirred slightly when Dean started the engine up. "You're safe now, we've got you", he whispered before kissing the top of her head. He relaxed slightly when he heard her sigh in relief.
Dean, Sam, and Cas were all beyond angry that they hadn't found her sooner.
***
[Y/N] groaned. Her head hurt, her body ached, but she scrunched her face in confusion as she realised she was no longer thirsty. Her eyes snapped open as she felt her hand being squeezed, and she heard someone talking at her. Everything was blurry, she could only make out a large figure in front of her, and she could only hear a deep rumble coming from it, no words. She started to panic, sitting up and trying to pull her hand back, pushing herself backwards until her hand hit air and she was falling. She hit the ground with a thump and her bad arm felt like it was on fire as it took the brunt of her fall. The figure was immediately crouching over her, blocking out the light on the ceiling, and her panic now mixed with pain as she cradled her arm against her chest.
"Breathe, [Y/N]", she was finally able to make out a word from the blurry figure, and the voice sounded somewhat familiar. "You're in the bunker, you're safe, nothing is going to hurt you, okay?"
"D...Dean?" She tried to focus her eyes, slowly making out concerned green eyes staring into hers.
"Yeah, it's me, see?" He reached out and grabbed her hand, squeezing in gently. "Let's get you back onto the bed, okay? Come on, easy now". He reached around her back to hoist her back up, taking care to avoid putting any pressure onto her bad arm. She winced as she settled back down onto the bed. "I'm gonna check your arm, we had to stitch it up, I just need to check that you didn't pull any stitches with that fall", he said as he started to reach up to her chest. She looked down and spotted a blue material that she recognised as one of Sam's flannels, and Dean began to unbutton it. He carefully pulled her arm out of the sleeve, muttering apologies as she winced again at the movement.
She noticed that she was also wearing a clean tank top, and her mind briefly wondered which one of them had changed her clothes. Given the fact that she was wearing Sam's flannel, she figured it must have been him, and she felt comforted by the thought that she was being taken care of. "Okay, looks like two stitches need to be redone, you're bleeding a bit just above your elbow. Are you in pain?"
"Um", she cleared her throat as her voice came out raspy, it had been awhile since she'd used it properly. "A little".
"Okay. I can give you some painkillers, we've been giving them to you as much as the dosage allows, and you should be due some now anyway. Hang on one second". He let go of her hand and walked over to a cabinet, and she looked around to see that she was in the bunker's infirmary.
"How long have I been here?" She asked as he walked back over to the bed, two pills in his hand and reaching towards the glass of water on the bedside table.
"Uh, three days. You've kinda been in and out of consciousness for a lot of it, and not really with it when you're awake. Cas has tried to heal as much as he can, but his grace is still regenerating after a run in with a witch not long before we found you. He's only really been able to heal the infection, but the cut is still pretty deep and we want to stop it from getting infected again". He handed her the pills and water and pulled a stool over to sit beside her, and opened a suture kit that had been sitting on the table. Once she'd put the glass back down, he opened his hand for her to lay her arm in. "You good?" He asked as he took out an alcohol wipe to clean it. She nodded and he got to work.
He was finishing up the second stitch when she heard footsteps coming towards the infirmary, and suddenly she was feeling anxious, but she relaxed a little when Sam walked in. "Hey, you're awake", he smiled at her, though his smile didn't reach the concern in his eyes.
"Hey, uh, yeah", she smiled back, and took her arm back once Dean had let go and was packing the kit up again.
"How do you feel?" He asked as he walked over to them. "I'm sorry it took us so long to find you, they brought you to a pretty secluded area. We found your phone at the gas station", he nodded to a table on the far side of the room, where she could see her bag and phone. "Your car's in the garage too". He took Dean's place once Dean stood up, quietly leaving to give them space to catch up.
"I'm a bit... foggy? I don't know, kinda confused. How long was I gone?"
"Two months", Sam grimaced at her wide-eyed reaction. "I promise you, [Y/N], we haven't rested since you went missing. We spent every day trying to find you, we would never give up on you". He grabbed her hand, hoping that she would believe him. "I hate seeing you like this, I'm so sorry".
"Sam", she shook her head. "You have nothing to be sorry for. We've all been captured and we've all had hunts go sideways on us. It's part of the job".
"Yeah but I asked you for help on the case, none of this would have happened if I hadn't called you".
"Sam, stop, okay? It's..." She coughed and cleared her throat. "It's not your fault". She coughed again, harder this time and Sam stood up and pulled his phone out of his pocket. With his free hand, he rubbed her back as he flicked through his contacts and held his phone to his ear.
"You're okay, get it out, breathe", he said as he waited for an answer on the phone. "Yeah, Cas?It's me, can you get down here? She's having difficulty breathing". He looked back to her and noticed that she'd closed her eyes and was leaning back down on the bed. "Yeah, now". He hung up and put his phone down on the bed, leaning over her to help her lie down slowly.
***
"Sam?" She called out, opening her eyes to a dark room.
"Um, no, it's Castiel", she heard him shuffle closer to her. She still felt weak, but her throat felt clearer. "Sam and Dean are asleep, it's 3am, but I can wake Sam if you need him". She squinted in the darkness and could just about make out his silhouette beside her.
"Oh, no, it's okay. What... what happened earlier? I remember coughing and Sam calling you but it's kinda hazy after that".
"You're weak", he said, and she looked up at him. "Not in general, just right now after what you've been through", he was quick to add. "You were having difficulty breathing, and when I came down to help you were falling back asleep. I cleared your throat but Sam thought it best to let you rest, and I agreed". He reached over to place his fingers on her forehead, and she closed her eyes as a familiar comfort spread through her body, and she felt the pain in her arm and the ache she felt throughout her body dull a little. "I'm sorry, that's as much as I can help for now".
"You all need to stop apologising", she shook her head and reached for his hand as he was pulling it away. "I appreciate everything you're doing for me". She squeezed his hand slightly. "I should be the one apologising, I should've been more aware of my surroundings, I shouldn't have been that easy of a target".
"Don't be hard on yourself. You should just focus on healing. Sleep, [Y/N], let your body and mind rest". He sat down beside her and kept a hold of her, using his thumb to rub circles on the back of her hand.
***
A scream woke both Sam and Dean, and they instantly ran towards the source of it; the infirmary. They found [Y/N] clutching her arm and tossing and turning in the bed, looking like she was trying to get away from something. Sam instantly went to her bedside and grabbed her shoulder, but it only made her scream again. "No! Get off! Please, please stop, please let me go!" She had tears streaming down her face, and Sam looked back at Dean for help.
"Hey, [Y/N], wake up, it's just us", Sam said as he cupped her cheek with his hand.
"No! Leave me alone! Please!" She sobbed, and Dean came over to lightly tap at her other cheek before gripping her good shoulder and shaking.
"Come on, wake up kid, you're safe here", when she continued to struggle in the bed, the brothers shared a look and Dean sighed. "[Y/N]! WAKE UP!" Her eyes snapped open at Dean's booming voice and she looked frightened, glancing between the two of them.
"It was a nightmare, you're okay", Sam said, stroking her cheek. "You're safe, nothing is going to hurt you". She immediately started to cry, and she leaned forward into Sam as he moved closer to hug her against his chest. Dean leaned over to rub circles on her back and they all stayed like that until she'd calmed down and her breathing had evened out.
"I was back in that cellar", she sniffed. "They came back for me".
"They're gone Sweetheart, I made sure of it, they're all dead", Dean said as she leaned back to look up at them.
"What... what were they? It was so dark in that room... whenever they came in I couldn't really see, and I'd always pass out after a couple of minutes. All I know is they had some sort of claws?"
"Tallons. Harpies. Ugly little sons of bitches", Dean told her.
"Harpies?"
"That's what we're calling them anyway", Sam said. "It was the closest thing we could find in the lore".
"What did they want?"
"Well apparently they're in this constant state of hunger. This group, we think, somehow were feeding off of suffering. Basically, the hungrier and weaker you grew, the more satiated and the stronger they got", Sam explained as he brushed her hair behind her ear.
"Yeah, most the other victims only lasted a week or two. You've no idea how relieved we were to find you alive", Dean said. "Cas found the other victims, he said most of them died from thirst".
"It started to rain a little while I was at the gas station. I remember it because it had been so sunny earlier in the day", she said.
"It had been pretty dry around here for weeks before you were taken", Sam nodded. "Why?"
"I drank the rainwater", she said. "There was a hole in the ceiling and the water was coming through. I guess the previous victims didn't have that if it was dry". A tear escaped from here eye and Sam was quick to wipe it away. "I'm sorry", she sniffed.
"Hey, what are you saying sorry for?" Dean frowned at her and she looked up at him with watery eyes.
"I was supposed to help, but I didn't save anyone".
"[Y/N], don't think like that", Sam pulled her in for another hug and rested his chin on top of her head. "You gave us a starting point, we knew where you were when you were taken. Who knows how long it would have taken for us to find them otherwise. We got them and killed them because you led us there".
"Why don't you try get some more sleep? It's still a couple hours until morning. I'll even get up early to make your favourite breakfast", Dean winked at her as he stood up. Sam leaned back to give Dean space to kiss her forehead, and [Y/N] smiled and nodded at him as he left the room.
"Do you want me to stay here, or do you want to come with me to my room? I don't mind either way, but I think my bed is a bit more comfortable than this one", Sam said to her. "You could take one of the spare rooms either, but I'd like to be there in case you have another nightmare".
She took a moment to think about it, and settled on Sam's room. She'd stayed with him before, Dean too, and she knew she slept better when they were around. "My room it is", he nodded and stood up. He held out his hand which she took as she got up out of the bed. She was only able to take one step before her knees buckled beneath her, and she gasped as she fell. Sam's strong arms wrapped around her waist before she could hit the ground, and he lifted her up into his arms. She blushed in embarrassment as he looked down at her in concern.
"I'm sorry", she said, hiding her face in his shoulder, but he just chuckled.
"You're still recovering, it's understandable. None of us will mind carrying you around until you get your strength back", he said as he began to walk towards his room. "You're family to us".
Once he opened the door to his room, he walked her over to the bed and let her down gently on one side. It was still warm from where he'd been sleeping earlier in the night, and she was comforted by his familiar scent on the pillow. He was right, his bed was more comfortable. "If you need anything, you just wake me up and let me know, okay?" He asked as he lay down beside her and pulled the covers up. She nodded before he turned his beside lamp off, and she instantly snuggled up beside him. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her gently onto his chest, keeping her safe and warm. Sam held her close for the rest of the night, and she slept peacefully in his arms, looking forward to the breakfast that Dean had promised her in the morning.

Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of (U2) + Castiel?
this is my therapy. meeting misha was surreal. very short and sweet, thank you for requesting.
Tumblr media
11:56 pm. castiel. stuck in a moment you can’t get out of.
success felt good running through your veins. admiring how it swells and aches, often in a way you’d hold onto to remember. breathing felt easy for the moment - looking into the boys’ smiling faces and even cas’ small look of contentment. celebration of success always came at the price of something awful following. and maybe it was naivety, or the confidence of mr. daniel’s in your bloodstream, but following blind happiness seemed like peace.
your back hits the mattress with soft force and you close your eyes, at peace for the moment. on the turntable rested a u2 album from your youth. it flows and ebs through your room in the bunker - you let it, uncaring of it’s volume.
a knock at the door and you look up from the bed, seeing a sideways dean and cas at your doorway, dean’s hand falling from knocking.
“see you’re enjoying yourself in here.” he saunters in, already eyeing the bottle resting on your dresser. you follow his eye line before letting your head fall back to the softness of your covers. “take it, you can finish it off.”
soon the population of your bedroom inhabits two and you can still feel cas’ presence.
“feeling celebratory cas?” you ask while pushing yourself up on your palms.
“i typically don’t indulge but i admit, this success felt deserving.” he has a pleased look. one you don’t find often on his features. your own cheeks break out into a smile and you throw your palm to him.
“c’mon.” your fingers meet your palm in a few quick movements to beckon him to take it.
he sighs, head lulling. “you know very well i cannot dance.”
“well then i’ll be your teacher. come on. i won’t tell sam or dean i promise.”
he takes your hand as if it was unwillingly, and then you promptly stand to take the other. you sway to the beat, upbeat and almost joyous sounding as you felt. you hum to the lyrics, singing quietly as cas danced with you; granted his dancing was mostly holding onto your hands as you swayed and spun around him.
“just let go for a minute. we live with too much stress.”
you don’t see it, held in the grip of the music and eyes closed as you danced with the angel - but his face softens and he just watches. the feeling of your hands in his own has a different meaning, and he so badly wishes to see this again.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dean always had incredible luck with women. He could go into a bar crowded with guys and walk out with the only woman—the bartender who’d been dodging men all night.
You, on the other hand, could go into that same bar and end up going back to the motel alone. It bothered you; what in the hell were you doing wrong?
So, you did the unthinkable—you asked Dean to help you get better at flirting.
That’s how you ended up here at the bar with Dean; he was showing you how to play pool. You had protested the idea of him “teaching you” something you already knew, but he claimed it was important.
“You’re standing wrong,” he told you when you were about to break.
“Uh, no I’m not?”
“If you’re trying to win the game, you’re doing great. If you’re trying to get your opponent to fuck you, you’re failing miserably.”
“Thanks,” you grumbled.
“Hey, you were the one who asked me for help!” He shrugged. “If you want to back out now-”
“No, I don’t want to back out,” you sighed. I’m fucking desperate at this point.”
“So, are you gonna do what I say, then?” he asked, folding his arms over his chest.
“Yeah,” you mumbled. “How am I supposed to stand?”
He walked up behind you and put his hands on your hips.
“Stick your butt out a little,” he instructed and you did as he asked. “Alright, now when you bend over,” he moved his hands up and forward, resting them on your lower chest, “you’ll want to point your breasts in the direction of the person you want to attract.”
“What if he’s standing behind me?” you asked.
“Then his eyes are gonna be glued to your ass,” he replied, not getting the message. “If he’s standing behind you then focus more on the actual game, and less on where you’re pointing your boobs. Trust me, though, if he’s standing in front of you, he’s gonna be trying to see down your shirt, now…” he walked back around to the other side of the table. “Bend over, and before you hit the ball, make eye contact with him.”
“Okay…” You bent down and lined up your shot before looking up and into Dean’s eyes.
“Perfect! If you look at him kinda like through your eyelashes, there’s exactly one thing that’s suddenly stuck front and center in his mind.”
“And this works on…all guys?” you asked, still looking at him through your lashes.
“If he was standing where I am and didn’t want to fuck you, he’s either related to you or just not into chicks.”
“Good to know,” you mumbled, mostly to yourself. You were about to start the game but a few strands of hair fell on your face.
“Don’t move,” Dean said before he hurried back to where he had been before and tucked the hair behind your ear for you. “Now, since he’s already thinking about that one thing, is that something you want him to think about even more?”
“Um, yeah,” you said quietly.
“Alright, pout your lips,” he instructed. He moved his hand down from your ear and tugged your lip out a bit. “Perfect, that’s gonna draw his attention to your lips.”
“So, now I start actually playing the game?” you asked, not sure if he had any more pointers for you.
“If you want. Or we can go over to the bar where there are three different guys that have been eyeing you the past ten minutes.”
“Really?” you stood up straight, whipping your head around. You saw the guys he was talking about and they all quickly looked down at the drinks in front of them. “Let’s go to the bar, then.”
“So, now that you know all those guys are interested,” Dean said as you both took your seats at the bar, several stools away from the other people already there, “you need to pick one.”
“Isn’t that the easy part?” you laughed a little.
“Oh no, most guys are monsters.” Dean shook his head, motioning the bartender over with his hand. “What’re you drinking?” he asked, looking at you.
“Just a beer’s fine,” you said, a little confused. Usually when you, Sam, and Dean went out drinking you each ordered your own drinks. Dean took initiative and ordered two beers. “And I know before taking someone back to my room I have to do the usual tests; holy water, iron, and silver.”
“Not those kinda monsters, sweetheart,” Dean said. “The guy on the far right has a little motor home keychain attached to his keys. Given the fact there’s a dilapidated RV parked outside that looks like a serial killer’s lair, I’d say he’s a creep.”
“Well, what about the guy in the middle?” you asked.
“I heard him talking with someone on the phone in the bathroom earlier about the fact his ex-girlfriend doesn’t know she got the clap from him.”
“Dear lord,” you groaned, making a disgusted face. “What’s wrong with the guy on the left?”
“Well, uh…” Dean started, looking at the man you were talking about and trying to find something wrong with him. “Nothing. If he comes over here, I’d say it’s worth a shot.”
“Shouldn’t I go and talk to him?” you asked.
“Oh no! No, no, no! Bar like this, pretty girl like you; he’ll think you’re a hooker.”
“Oh.”
“I mean, unless you wanna make a couple hundred bucks tonight?” he teased, earning a smack to his upper arm. “I’ll take that as a no,” he laughed.
“I’d make at least four-hundred,” you scoffed.
“Look, you’re cute and sweet and guys tend to turn their heads when you walk by them. Now, for your next lesson, take a look around the bar and tell me how many women you see.”
You looked around, counting in your head. “Five, including me and the bartender,” you said.
“And how many guys?”
“I’d say like twenty at least?” you estimated.
“Exactly,” he said. “See, at least half of those guys have their eyes on you. When we were playing pool earlier I guarantee you they’d have done anything to be where I was.”
“So…what’s your point?”
“You’re way above any of these guys’ leagues.” He shrugged. “Which is okay, but you need to know that you’re too good for them, just a fact. They’re spending their Wednesday night in a bar looking for a hookup, you came here to get a drink with your friend. So, like I said, you are in fact way out of their leagues.”
“You really think so?”
“Please tell me you’re joking,” he laughed a little then looked at you and realized you were serious. “Oh dear god, yes! Not only are you fucking gorgeous, you’re smart, funny and a total badass! I mean you killed two vampires this morning!”
“Thanks, Dean.” You smiled.
“Of course,” he replied. “Now, before we head back to the motel is there anything else? You know how to kiss someone, right?”
“Ha, ha!” You smiled sarcastically. “I know how to kiss, Dean. But, I actually do have a question.”
“Shoot!”
“What about…the friend zone?”
“You wanna know how to friend zone a guy?” He furrowed his brows.
“No, how do I get out of the friend zone?”
“Oh.” He nodded. “That’s, um, I’m actually not sure. And I didn’t think you had friends?”
“Again, very funny Dean,” you laughed somewhat sarcastically. “What if I’m good friends with a guy and I really like him, but I’m scared to tell him because I don’t want to lose the friendship?”
“Look, Sam loves you but he doesn’t see you…that way,” he said.
“It’s not Sam, dumbass,” you said. “I have plenty of friends! And there’s this one friend, who’s a guy that I really like. I don’t think he feels the same way, but it’s driving me absolutely crazy that I can’t just tell him.”
“I, uh, I don’t know. I mean, I always think the guy has more to lose if that situation goes south, cause he’ll always be attracted to the girl but she might…get bored with him.”
“But what if the guy doesn’t like me back? What if I tell him and he says ‘gross, you’re like a sister to me’?”
“If he does see you as a sister, he’s not gonna say ‘gross’ when you tell him how you feel?”
“How do you know?”
“Cause I know Sam and he’d be lucky to have a girl like you.”
“It’s not Sam, you moron!” you exclaimed, a little louder than intended.
“…Garth?”
“What if the guy I really like is also really dumb?” you asked.
“I mean, I wouldn’t say Garth is dumb…”
“Oh my god,” you groaned. “Yeah, never mind.” You put your face in your hands for a moment before starting to drink the beer Dean had ordered for you. He watched you with furrowed brows and it felt like an eternity (really it was about sixty seconds) before he suddenly broke the silence.
“Holy shit!” he exclaimed. “Is it…me?”
“I’m sorry,” you said, looking over at him. “I didn’t plan on letting that slip tonight, I swear.”
“But, it is me? You like me?” Dean asked, you nodded. “Oh my fucking god!”
You couldn’t tell if he was happy and you were beginning to really worry.
“I’m sorry,” you said quietly. You turned on your chair to leave but he gripped your upper arm and kept you in place.
“No, don’t—fuck! I feel like I just won the fucking lottery and I just need a second to catch up.”
“Wait, you’re happy? You…You like me too?”
“Oh yeah,” he nodded, “I may be stupid but I’m not an idiot.”
“Well…” you teased.
He rolled his eyes, still smiling; “Just let me kiss you, already,” Dean muttered. He put his hands on your cheeks, stood up off his chair, leaned toward you, and kissed you deeply. His hands moved to your shoulders then down to your lower back as you put your hands on his cheeks.
“Wait,” you mumbled, pulling back slightly.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, you’re incredible! I’m just now realizing how many creepy guys are staring at me.”
“Told ya,” he said, taking a look around the bar.
“Could we, maybe…head to your motel room?” you asked somewhat nervously.
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Hundred percent.” You nodded vigorously, looking at his lips then up and into his bright green eyes. “Unless…you don’t want to?”
“Oh I definitely want to, I’ve wanted to since Sam and I picked you up after he left Stanford,” he said.
“And you didn’t say anything? Dean, it’s been like ten years?” You furrowed your brows then noticed he actually seemed a little embarrassed. “For the record, I’ve wanted to kiss you for about twelve.” His eyes widened.
“What? Wow, I guess we’re both a little stupid,” he laughed a little before leaning in for another kiss.
“Excuse me, Winchester?” You quirked a brow, looking at him.
“I mean, you’re smart, so smart,” he rambled a little. “And sexy, so fucking sexy.” He kissed you and you kissed him back, smiling against his mouth. “Let’s get the hell outta here, sweetheart.”
“Mmh, just another minute,” you mumbled, not wanting to stop kissing him.
He pulled away after a moment, both of you smiling.
“My god you’re beautiful.” He smiled, putting a hand on your cheek.
You hopped off the stool but stayed looking into his eyes; “You’re so fuckin’ hot, Dean Winchester,” you mumbled and kissed him again, pulling him down by the collar of his jacket.
He pulled out his wallet and was about to pay for both drinks but you stopped him.
“What’s wrong?”
“If you pay for my drink then this would count as our first date,” you said.
“Huh, I didn’t think of it like that,” he replied. “Alright, we each pay for our own drinks.”
“Exactly.” You nodded and took out your own wallet, each of you leaving a ten on the counter. “Now, shall we go to your motel room?”
“I’m sharing a room with Sammy,” he said.
“My motel room it is.” You pulled him down again and kissed him.
“Lead the way.”
**
You woke up to the sound of Dean snoring lightly behind you and a smile formed on your lips as you recalled what had happened only a few hours ago. You felt Dean’s arm snake around your waist and he pulled you closer to him.
You assumed he was awake now and you turned to kiss him but he was actually still snoring. The thought that he wanted you closer to him even when he was sleeping made your smile deepen.
A wave of calmness washed over you, followed by an unnerving idea; how serious was Dean when he said he liked you?
Did he think this was a one-and-done situation? Were he and Sam just gonna drive off in that beautiful Impala and leave you to start hunting alone?
You hadn’t hunted alone since re-connecting with the Winchesters back in ‘05. Before that you’d been hunting alone or with Dean while Sam was in college. Before that you’d hunted with your dad, who occasionally worked with John.
You honestly didn’t really remember the first time you met Dean. You were both just kids and you blocked out a lot of your childhood due to the fact you’d been hunting your whole life. (It was actually a similar story to Dean’s—after a monster killed your mom, your dad became obsessed with hunting and seemed to forget he was a father with a four-year-old in the back seat of his pickup truck.)
What you did remember was the first time hunting alone with Dean. You were twenty-two and (finally) not hunting with your dad when you ran into Dean who was also hunting alone. He had recently had some kind of falling out with Sam, who had been at Stanford a couple years already. You remembered how Dean reacted to the fact you were hunting alone.
He was genuinely worried for your safety and insisted he hunt with you for a while. You took him up on the offer and spent a couple months together before parting ways but still staying in touch.
You were drawn back to the present when Dean let out a breath of air as he stirred awake.
“Good morning,” he mumbled, a smile on his full lips when he opened his eyes. He sat up on his elbow and tilted your chin up with his finger. “My god, how are you so beautiful?” You giggled a little before he bent down and kissed you.
He sat up further and slipped an arm under you, bringing you to the center of the bed. He caged you beneath him by putting his hands on either side of you as your hands went into his already ruffled hair. You brought him back down and kissed him again, his left hand moving again and trailing down your side, bringing your bare thigh up to graze his own.
You could tell where things were going so you stopped him, “Dean.”
“Y/n,” he mumbled back.
“Dean, wait,” you said quietly.
“What is it?” he asked, looking down at you.
“How, um, how serious is this?” you asked.
“What?” He furrowed his brows a little.
“Is this a one-night thing?”
“Oh,” he realized. “Um, it can be, if that’s what you want.”
“Is that…what you want?” you asked.
He looked into your eyes and slowly shook his head negatively, your smile returning to your flushed face.
“I was kinda thinking this would be at least a two-night thing,” he said, showing off his adorable smirk and making you roll your eyes a little. He bent down and kissed you. “Maybe a three-night thing.”
“A four-night thing?” you teased.
“I think you’re gonna be stuck with me for a lot longer than that, sweetheart,” he mumbled into your mouth.
“You really think?” you asked, smiling.
“Hate to break it to you, but I’m kinda in love with you.” He stopped kissing you, realizing what he said. “I, uh, I mean, not—fuck, I really am. I’m sorry.”
“Dean,” you interrupted his spiraling, “I’m kinda in love with you too.”
“Oh thank goodness,” he whispered and kissed you again.

It had been a few days after Sam went to hell. Dean had lost his brother and you had lost your best friend that day. It was hard on you both. You didn't talk about it.
You both had been pushing your feelings down, about the whole situation, too scared to open up. Since Sam had been gone you and Dean had been hunting nonstop. It had been an easier way to cope with everything. Just pretending that everything was fine when it wasn't.
You And Dean had just finished vamp hunt and he offered to get food for you both.
After the hunt It had been raining like cats and dogs, you had been stuck in the hotel room trying to get a signal on the tv. "Come on!" You scream hitting the sides of the tv, it had been going out since the storm started, you sigh and run you hand across your face, when you were met with black and white static.
"Piece of shit-" You mutter kicking the bottom of the tv stand. You huff and sit on the edge of one of the motel beds.
You and Dean had been laying low for the past couple of days. You didn't hear from Bobby nor cas. You flop back onto the bed with a groan.
That was until the motel door swung open causing you to look over.
"Still nothing?" Dean questions throwing a white fastfood bag onto the little table in the kitchen.
"Nope." You say still looking at the ceiling.
You hear shuffling for a second, then you see the green eyed hunter standing over you with something wrapped in tinfoil. "Eat." He says placing it next to you.
You quickly sit up and grab the burger. You watch as Dean sits on the bed opposite bed across from you, he begins to unwrap the burger he had gotten both of you.
You watch as he bites into it, but you also noticed his wet hair. You watch him take two bites before looking in your direction.
Dean stops chewing the food in his mouth, "What?" He questions when he catches you stare at him.
"Nothing." You say.
Dean mumbles an 'ok' and continues to eat.
For some guy who had lost his brother he seems to be doing just fine. You get up from the bed, and walk into the kitchen, pulling out the chair you pull back the motel curtain, you stare out the window and watch the rain fall.
You missed Sam, he was your besfriend - besides Dean you thought, you and Dean were never really close it upset you, he never really talked to you about anything besides Sam. When you entered the room he'd go quite.
You never understood why.
You had been staring out the window for too long to notice the green eyed hunter sitting across from you.
"You really should eat."
His voice rumbles through your body. "I'm good." You say looking from the window and to the man that had been sitting across from you for god knows how long.
Dean sighs and leans back in the chair.
"You okay Dean?" You Hum crossing your arms over your chest.
"As good as i can be." He huffs through his nose, "I could ask you the same thing, I know loosing your bestfriend is hard." He says.
You roll your eyes, "He's your brother Dean."
Dean leans forward on the table his arms resting against the table. He nods his head, "We'll get him back." Dean says taking a deep breath, "We always do." He gets up from the table tapping his knuckles against the wood.
You notice the bruises that sit upon his knuckles, they were purple. He had gotten them trying to fight of a vampire, to save you.
"Sorry about that." You swallow, your eyes still focused on the purple.
Dean follows your gaze.
"Its nothing, happens." He says walking over to the fridge, he opens it pulling out two beers. He holds one up, He knew you weren't very much of a drinker. You hated beer. But why the hell not, right?
You get up from your chair and make your way over to Dean where he was leaning against the counter. He flicks the bottle top off and plops it in the sink behind him.
You copy his motion, you step beside him and plop the top into the sink.
You bring the bottle up to your lips, the bitter liquid runs down your throat. pullinging the bottle away, you notice Dean's eyes on yours.
"What?" You hiccup.
"Nothing," He says bringing the glass bottle up to his lips.
You begin to fidgit with the bottle, you were still facing the sink, staring down at the two bottle tops in the sink. "Do you ever think about it?" You hum.
Dean turns his head in confusion, "Think about..? he questions, you noticed the confusion in his voice.
You take a deep breath, "Getting out, hunting. And living a normal life."
Dean stares down at his bottle, "All the time." Dean sighs.
He had called one of his lovers, Lisa hoping to rekindle something with her now that Sam was gone, she said yes. Dean was supposed to leave by morning.
But Dean didn't know if he wanted too, it would leave you alone and he knew that you were counting on him to be there.
You sigh.
You could see Dean shifing in his spot. What was he thinking about you wonder?
You place the beer bottle down on the counter, making your way over to the bed. The staic looking on the tv fills your ears.
"Do you think about it?" Dean asks putting his bottle next to yours. He strieds over to the bed and sits next to you.
Talking a shaky breath, you turn to face the green eyed man. "No." Dean watches you fiddle with your fingers, as he waits for you to contiue, "I never saw myself settling down, or getting out of this life, it's not for me. This is my life. There's no changing that."
Dean nods at your words.
You look up to find the man looking at you. His eyes searching your face, going back and forth between your eyes and lips.
It all happened to fast, Dean's lips on yours you his on his shirt, urging him to take it off.
This was wrong, you thought. You never felt this way about him. He was so mysterious, he never let you in on anything that happened to him, it was always Sam filling you in.
You both could barely be in a room together without one of you leaving because of the awkwardness.
But maybe it was Dean putting up a guard to try and protect you. He knew you didn't belong in this life, hunting and killing things. It just wasn't right for you.
You're different you aren't like him or Sam. And that's what Dean liked.
You were bought out of your thoughts when Dean nipped your ear causing you to squeal. "everything okay?" Dean questions looking up. You were straddling him.
His lips were pink and swollen from the kissing.
You quickly nod and grab his face, pressing your lips against his.
- - You had been woken up by a pounding on the door, you shoot up out of the bed, your eyes still trying to adjust from the light that was coming through the window.
You quickly pull the covers from your body, cold air hits your skin, you were naked. "Shit." You mumble, the pouding on the door didn't stop.
You looking over on the side of your bed where you were hoping to find Dean but he was gone. A bad feeling washed over you when you slide you t-shirt over your head.
You smelt him everywhere. In your skin in your hair. He was everywhere but no where all at once.
Putting the last leg into your jean's you fling open the door.
You were met with an old lady and a cleaning cart, "Room service!" She smiles, squeezing past you with her cart. You close the door behind you.
You quickly rush over to the bathrrom, maybe he'd just been in there, but you were met with a dark room. His duffle bag was gone. You swallow hard.
You walk back into the kitchen to find the beer bottles still sitting on the counter. Everything was gone, he was gone.
Tears form in your eyes. You grab your socks and shoes, and your coat that had been on the back of the chair in the kitchen chair.
You do a quick run through of the room to make sure you weren't missing anything.
Turing your head over your shoulder you had noticed the tv wasn't static anymore, an episode of 'Dr sexy' Was playing on the screen.
The cleaning lady had made her way over to the kitchen area, throwing away the bottles you and Dean had drank out of earlier.
You sigh and fish the hotel key out of your pocket before setting it down on the table.
You shut the door of the motel behind you, you fish out your phone and scroll through your contacts.
You click on the name before letting it ring a few times.
"Hey Bobby, care to give a girl a lift?"
