Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
„You will never know, if she maybe likes you, if you never ask her to hang out“ she hears Steve‘s voice from the back. Her eyes rolling at the statement from her best friend. „It’s not that easy, Harrington, just imagine, we hang out. I make a move, she is straight and then I will be known as the disgusting lesbian all over the city“
She was right, and he knew, but if he has to hear Robin talk about her crush on this girl for much longer, he will freak out. „Robin, you know I am not the smartest person, but she so has a thing for you, even a blind person could see“
Again, he was right. Y/n has been openly flirting with her, everytime she came to pick out a new movie. Last time she was at Family video, he almost vomited because of the way she looked at his colleague. All the flirting going right over her head.
Robin was about to make another snarky comment but was interrupted by the front door opening. The unfamiliar face walking in with a big smile. „Talking of the devil“ Steve murmured after seeing y/n entering the store, turning back around leaving the register to leave them both behind.
„Hey Robin“ her beautiful, red coated lips spoke and Robin swore, her heart started beating even faster. She looked as gorgeous as ever, wearing a long, flowy skirt, plastered with flowers. „Hey y/n“ Robin stammered after a silence that was way to long and awkward in her opinion.
Her lips curled into a smile, hearing Robins flustered words from the place she was standing. She would never admit to anyone, too scared of being judged, but she probably had the biggest crush on the girl, working at family video.
„Can I help you with anything?“ Robin asked coming out from behind the register to stand next to the other girl. It had been a slow day, only having two other customers besides her crush. „You know, I was wondering, what is your favorite movie?“ the question came as a surprise. Robin has been asked this question by many customers before her, but somehow hearing those words out of her mouth, it felt different, special. Like she really cared about her opinion on movies.
„That is a Good question, it actually is“ her words were stopped after feeling y/n‘s hand reach for hers. Visibly flustered she looked down at the girls hand, her red painted nails wrapping around her wrist. „Why don‘t you just show me, which one it is?“
Still overwhelmed by the touch of her crush, she slowly made her way into the direction of her favorite tape. Her hand never leaving her wrist while she followed the cute girl. „This is it“ handing her the movie, whilst looking at her face for a reaction.
Scanning the cover, her lips curled up into a beautiful smile. „Great, I’ll take this“ she said handing the tape back to Robin. They both made their way to the register, to get the movie checked out. „Here you go“ Robin said putting the movie back into her perfectly manicured hands. „Tell me how you liked it when you watched it, I am very excited to hear about your opinion“
„Maybe, we could watch this movie together“ y/n said in a small voice, taking all of her courage to ask this question. Almost missing the small whisper, Robins eyes went wide. „Yes, yes I would love to“ she blurted out a little too loud. A smile making its way on both of their lips, „how about you come over to mine tonight“ she added, hoping not to weird her out. Nodding her head yes, Robin slowly took a pen and started to write her address on her delicate arm. Both of them sharing another smile. „Can’t wait“
Still not able to believe what just happened, she just stood there, watching the girl leaving the store hurriedly. „Told you“ Steve came creeping up behind her, scaring her whilst doing so. Robin only being able to smile, having nothing to add to that.
A few hours later, Robin was already wating patiently for the girl to arrive at her house. She had prepared popcorn, got all the drinks she thought that y/n would like and laid blankets out on her couch. Glady her parents had been out for the night so, she didn’t have to worry about them.
The ring of the doorbell took her out of her thoughts, she wasted no time running to the front door. And there she stood, her long hair bunched up into a bun on top of her head, wearing an oversized sweater and some gray sweatpants, her smile bigger than ever.
They got in and wasted no time getting to watch the movie. Robin could tell, y/n really liked the movie she picked out, the both of them discussing the things that happened and sharing some laughs at the funny scenes. As the movie took its end, both of them were sitting super close to each other, not wanting the evening to end.
„How about we watch another movie, I still have a horror movie I picked up weeks ago“ the short haired girl suggested. Y/n really wasn’t a big fan of scary movies, but she could never turn down the pretty girls suggestion.
The movie started and y/n felt herself getting super anxious, unknowingly starting to scoot even closer to the other girl. Robin on the other hand couldn’t pay attention to the movie as she felt her get closer to her. „Do you want me to turn it off?“ she asked calmly.
Shaking her head, not wanting to disappoint her, straightening herself up again. „It’s fine, don’t worry about me“ y/n let out with a shaky breath. Robin could tell she was scared, so she scooted closer to the frightened girl. This was it, she would risk it all, she thought.
Taking all of her courage, she took her arm and put it around the other girls shoulder. Y/n froze, thinking that she fucked it up, Robin was ready to pull her arm back, but suddenly, she could feel the girl leaning into her side, getting comfortable against her body. Too scared to say anything, Robin just enjoyed the closeness to her crush. A few moments later she could actually feel her falling asleep against her.
As the movie was over, Robin shook the girls body slightly to wake her up. Probably still in her dream state, y/n only wrapped her hands around the other girls body, making it impossible for Robin to make another move. Not wanting to bother the girl even more, she just decided to cuddle up against her and lay with her on the couch, that was actually way to small to fit both of them.
At that moment, Robin couldn’t care less about what was going to happen, when y/n was going to wake up, this was too good to be ended. Pushing away all of her negative thoughts, she fell asleep with the girl, she had such a big crush on, knowing, that it was probably not the last time, the both of them would end up sleeping with each other.

Dreams Do Come True
-Robin Buckley x fem!reader
-warnings: none
-summary: Robin can’t find the right words to confess to you so Steve helps Robin attempt to rehearse her confession, expect it’s in Family Video and you could walk in at any time..
Tumblr media
“Robin you’re not giving a eulogy or a presidential speech, just be straight forward and tell Y/n you like them,” Steve said while organizing the latest movies on the shelf. “That’s easy for you Steve, you don’t have to worry about public embarrassment or shaming if you ask out the wrong person. Practicing a confession is good to do!” said Robin, walking along side Steve.
“That is true, but you said Y/n likes girls right? Surely you’ll be fine!” he said, taking the cart of movie and moving it to the next shelf, “Yes I did but what if Y/n doesn’t like me specifically?” she groaned, placing her hands behind her head.
Robin and Y/n were very close, every since freshmen math class. Yes she had her crushes like Tammy and Vicky, but you were different. You were so easy to talk to and so talented...not to mention very beautiful. Even when you would come to school feeling like crap, Robin always thought you looked perfect.
When it came to sleeping over your house, she was a nervous wreck. What if she says something wrong? What if she gets too comfortable and let her secret slip? She was always so worried but the more she slept over the less she worried. You always made her feel comfortable and yet make her feel so flustered.
When it came to sleeping, you never made her sleep on the floor or couch, instead y/n always let Robin share the bed with them. Robin never knew how she ended up falling asleep with you so close to her. In the morning Robin would wake up to you holding onto her, it felt so domestic, and she loved it.
The last time she slept over she discovered something that would be a breakthrough for Robin. The two of you were in your room, you told her you would be right back cause you wanted to grab some snacks. When you left the room, Robin snooped around, though it isn’t polite, she found your diary. Robin read quickly over you entries talking about school, your family, and then she came across one entry that gave her a sense of hope.
“December 6th, 1985
Dear diary, being with my extended family is KILLING ME! I hate all these questions like “So what college are you going to?” or “Do you have a boyfriend?” I’ve repeated many of times of which college I’m going to and that I do not have a boyfriend...
I don’t like I like boys the way I should. I’m uninterested in men, I think puberty may have come to me late. I always find myself staring at women in movies or magazines. I like the feeling I get when I look at women :) but I can’t let anyone know. I have to go now, I’ll talk to you later.”
This was Robin’s chance to finally have a girlfriend, but the question her mind was always “What if she doesn’t like me? What if she tells everyone?”
Steve always assured her that you would never tell anyone because “If Y/n also like girls, why would she rat you out? They probably have the same fear you do... I wouldn’t sweat it Robin, have some faith!”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I just want it to be perfect, this could be my very first girlfriend Harrington!” Robin exclaimed, going behind the counter and placing her head on it. Mondays were always slow, so no need for any customers to come in. “Well let’s say if she say no, you have only, what? Two months before you graduate. You won’t have to see her again if she says no,” Steve said, joining Robin behind the counter, “But I really like Y/n..” Robin said, picking their head up to look at Steve.
The two of them must have not heard you come in, cause there you were, standing at the drama section with wide eyes. You were frozen where you stood.
oh shit.
“Uhm, hey Y/n...what’s up? Need help picking out a movie at all?” Robin said, voice laced with anxiety and fear. Steve also offered to help to you as you were walking to the counter, “No I-I’m good Steve...” your voice was quiet, cheeks a bit flushed. You looked at Robin with a smile, “Can I buy Doctor Zhivago, Buckley?” you asked as she nodded.
As Robin rang up your total and placed it in a bag, you asked, “Maybe you can come over tonight so we can watch it? I’ll drive us to school in the morning if you’d like..” you gave her a warm smile. Robin couldn’t believe this, “Y-Yeah I can come over...like a date.. right?” she said as you nodded, “Yeah like a date! It’ll be a blast, Buckley...See you tonight...Also you’re on snack duty!” you said, taking your bag and leaving the store.
“I thought we were gonna go see that new movie tonight?” Steve chimed in. Robin shook her ‘no’, “I just scored my first date Harrington, I can’t let this opportunity slide...” Robin said, slight laugh at the end. Good things come to people who are patient, Robin has been waiting for this moment and it finally happened...
A date with the girl of her dreams.

Tumblr media
Butter sizzled in the frying pan, making you jump slightly out of your sleepy stupor. Your father had the heat up way too high on the stove again. He would tell you he liked how the burnt butter tasted, but you knew his pride was just a pill too big to swallow. You sighed heavily and rubbed your eyes, trying to listen to what your father was griping at you about this time.
“I'm just saying, he was a good kid to ya.”
Oh. Right. This again.
He sloppily cracked an egg on the stove and thumbed at the shell. “When you two dated he helped you keep a schedule. You were never too out too late, always got enough sleep,” He finally dumped the egg onto the hot skillet, “And your grades definitely saw better days with him.”
“Dad,” You groaned, resisting the urge to let your head drop to the table. “I’m pretty sure you liked Jonathan more than I did, but can we not talk about him now?... Not this early,” You finished under your breath. You hadn’t dated Jonathan Byers since freshman year. The end of junior year was just around the corner and somehow your father still pressured you any chance he got to get back with Jonathan. Your family had a past with his, sure, from small interactions to dealing with the supernatural. But your father's obsession with you getting back with Jonathan was starting to get annoying. You wouldn’t tell anyone this, but deep down you had never felt any attraction to Jonathan.
Your father sighed irritably, “Fine, fine. My point is you’re staying up way too late. You never used to come in here half asleep like this.” He gestured with his spatula and flipped the already overcooked egg. "I get you're young but sleep is important"
"I know."
"I don't even know what you would be staying up doing."
"Mm-hm."
"If this keeps up, though, I might have to take your radio or something-"
“You ever think maybe it’s because I have nightmares?” You suddenly snapped, startling you both.
His spatula froze a moment as if he was taking a second to buffer. His shoulders then sagged and he continued his cooking. You watched as he put fresh bacon, eggs, and toast on your plate then walked over and slid it in front of you. You stared intently at him, trying to gauge his feelings through his expression. It was no use, he rarely wore his emotions on his face. He put his own plate down across from you and allowed himself to fall into the chair. Neither of you touched your food.
After a bit, your father finally broke the silence. “I didn’t mean for you to get involved in my work,” He muttered, guilt present in his tone. “.... What kind of nightmares?"
You shrugged, gazing down at your eggs. The edges looked burnt, dripping with brown butter. “Those stupid monsters… and the Russians… Having to run for my life, watching Jonathan or Robin die in front of me even though they're still here… Stupid stuff.”
“Don’t call them stupid, they’re normal. You went through a lot… we all did.”
You nodded, thinking back to the events of the past summer.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
You gave a weak shrug, flicking your bacon with your finger.
“How long?”
“Since I first saw one of those things in Jonathan’s house.”
You had been with Nancy and Jonathan when they discovered what they would later call the Demogorgon. You were right there when it somehow entered their house and attempted an attack. Lights flashing and heart beating out of your chest. Ever since then, your nights had never been the same.
“Shit… (y/n) Hopper, you need to tell me these damn things,” Your father chastised sternly, however, you knew this was just how he got when he cared. “I need to know when things aren’t good.”
You smiled bitterly, grabbing your fork. “If I did, I’d start sounding like the boy who cried wolf.” With that, you shoved your breakfast into your mouth. Things hadn’t felt good for a long while.
Your father leaned back in his chair with a heavy, unsatisfied dad sigh, then began going at his breakfast as well.
As you both ate in silence, your mind still lingered on just a few months earlier. You wished things could have stayed the way they were. Working with Steve and Robin at the mall was one of the best things to happen to you… until it quickly descended into madness once again. Yes, you all managed to stay together despite being kidnapped by the Russian government, but that didn’t make the situation okay. Far from it actually. To add to your trauma from interdimensional monsters, you ended up facing federal agent-level torture. It was the first time you ever felt true terror from the presence of other human beings. It was the first time you ever got beat up and bloodied. But towards the end of it all… It was also the first time you realized exactly what it was you felt for Robin.
While you wanted anything but for Rob to get involved and be put at risk, you felt better knowing she knew the chaos you knew was lurking in Hawkins. You felt better knowing you could go to her about your nightmares, which you did. Quite often in fact. Before your father, she was the only one you ever told. She was the only one you ever called at 3 am. She was the only one you felt like would ever answer.
As soon as you were finished eating, you got up and got ready for school. It didn’t take you long, the sleepless nights slowly forced you to make your self-maintenance routine shorter and shorter.
School hadn’t felt the same since all of this had started either. Ever since Will had first gone missing, tasks that should have felt normal… didn’t anymore. The feeling always hit you at unexpected times too. While walking down the hallway at school, during dodgeball, while shopping for groceries. You hated how that was no longer your normal and how fighting monsters was. You knew nothing would be the same and a sense of mourning for the past would come over you every time you remembered that.
---------
Lazily you stared at the blank chalkboard, mind empty, waiting for class to start. Somehow you managed to get to first period on time today, probably because your father had drug you out of bed for the ‘proper breakfast’. You could still taste the burnt butter on your lips.
“Hey, hey,” An chipper voice pulled you from your gaze. Robin sat next to you, a pile of textbooks thumping on her desk. “You got here before me! You slept better I’m guessing? I mean you didn’t call like usual last night. I hoped that meant you were doing better.”
The night before had been rough. It was one of those nights where you couldn’t close your eyes without seeing one of those monsters blooming their face of teeth at you. You could have sworn you heard one gurgling outside your window at one point. Guilt had kept you from grabbing the phone and calling Robin though.
“Yep, slept through the night," You swiftly lied.
She beamed, but it faltered as she leaned in and inspected your face more closely. “You got something on your face,” Her hand came up and wiped at the corner of your mouth, then she wiped it on her pants. “All good. Guess it was some breakfast I hope?”
“Yeah,” You nodded, fighting a smile, “Dad made us both breakfast this morning.”
She beamed once again, this time remaining that way. “Nice! Slept through the night and got breakfast. Look at you, a babe, and with your life together.” She nudged you on the arm, both the compliment and her touch making butterflies rage in your stomach. All you could do is smile in return, even if it was founded on a lie. “Hey, tell you what,” She continued, “Why don’t you come to my house tonight for a sleepover? My parents will be out late on a date so we can have a movie night! We have popcorn and fuzzy blankets-- Oh there's this one blanket I’ve had since I was little that's SO SOFT. No matter how much we've washed it, it somehow stays that way. I'm pretty sure if I ever go to college I would take it with me-” And from there she rambled on, happy as ever. You loved the way her eyes lit up and how her hands went crazy when talking about the things she loved. You were pretty sure you didn’t even get to tell her 'yes' to the invitation to her house.
By the end of class, she gave you a time to be at her house, offering to have Steve pick you up for her. You agreed considering he was the only person out of the three of you with their own car. With plans solidified for that night, you parted ways down the hall, to your dismay. You wished you had more classes with her.
The rest of the day was a blur and suddenly you were zapped full of energy as if her touch gave you just enough power up to make it until the end of the school day. Another failed quiz didn’t even bring you down like it normally would. Before you knew it, you were getting off the school bus and running down your driveway to hurry up and pack your things.
----------
Steve was in a rush to get you to Robins as he was already late for his shift at yet another job. You knew his boss would give him shit about it, but bless him for still pulling through for you and Rob.
You had scrambled out of his car at your arrival, just as eager to get to Robin as he was to get to work.
Your heart jumped in your throat at the sight of her when she opened the front door. Rob was wearing the shortest pair of bottoms you had ever seen on her. You'd go as far as to say they were boy shorts a size too small. It was compensated with a large baggy t-shirt from band, hand cut into a short crop top and exposing her belly.
"Hey!" She paused a second and leaned out the door. "The whore didn't bother to walk you to the porch?"
You scoffed, using it as an excuse to pull your gaze and instead look to Steve's car turning out of the driveway. "Nah, he's too anxious to get to his new flirting grounds." You felt a tingle in your stomach when Robin smirked at your remark.
Although snickering with her, you were deflecting the situation with humor. You liked Steve, he was sweet and a big dummy, but deep down… you were jealous of him. Jealous of how close he and Robin seemed to be. They always emphasized their 'relationship' wasn't a relationship at all, they were just friends. Strictly and forever platonic. It didn't change the fact you wanted that same kind of closeness with Robin though…. And maybe even closer.
"Figures," Robin rolled her eyes. "Get in here, make yourself at home."
You did so, kicking your shoes off and dropping your overnight bag at the door. As soon as you were unencumbered, she jolted and tossed her hands up in excitement. "Oh!! Did I tell you what Steve was able to get for us?"
"No," You shook your head plainly, smiling at her animation. You loved when she did that, even if it was mentioning Steve.
She grabbed hold of your wrist and drug you to the kitchen. Getting into the fridge, she reached to the back and proudly held up a bottle of tequila.
"Robin…" You whined, "We still have school in the morning, you know."
"I know, I know," She put her hands up in defense, "We won't get drunk or anything, okay? Just a few shots to relax."
You shook your head in disbelief, taking the chilled bottle from her. "Never thought you, the band kid, would peer pressure me into drinking. I think you're spending too much time with Steve," You jested, inspecting the bottle. Although once again, there was truth in your statement, you would admit spending the night watching a movie and drinking felt like a good plan.
"What can I say, he's clingy," She shrugged and took the bottle from you to set on the counter.. "Also I didn't know what movie to get so I think we'll just have Breakfast Club on in the background again while we drink and snack and whatever the fuck else we want to."
You nodded fervently, convinced she had somehow read your mind. "Let me change first though, I need to be comfy."
"Sure, you know where the bathroom is."
Walking past the front door, you grabbed your bag and locked yourself in the bathroom out of habit.
Once you were changed, you couldn't help but stare at your choice of pajamas in the mirror, comparing them to hers. Should you have tried wearing something more revealing? Could you have worn a shirt that figured you better? You about slapped yourself for getting insecure over something as dumb as your pajamas. Quickly, you gathered your things and yanked open the door, the only thing on your mind being shots.
When you got back to the kitchen, Robin already had the limes cut and ready in a bowl.
"Let's get wasted… but not," She elbowed you teasingly and began to pop open the bottle. You stared at her hands as she worked the cork off, slender and calculated with a dash of clumsiness thrown in. Her nails were painted but scuffed and her rings gleamed slightly in the fluorescent light. It felt like forever before she got the bottle open.
Right as she was about to pour the liquid into shot glasses, you stopped her. "Can you… just give me the bottle?"
She froze, wide-eyed at you. "... You sure?"
You nodded. Although surprised at yourself, you were ready for the anxiety in the pit of your stomach to drown in alcohol.
Hesitantly, she handed you the bottle. As soon as your hand connected with the cold glass, you tossed it back in two swift swigs, treating it as if it were water. Your regret was prompt as soon as you swallowed, your eyes going wide and coughs bursting out uncontrollably.
"Take a lime, take a lime!" Robin laughed, shoving the bowl of limes at you.
You quickly brought one to your mouth, although you were pretty sure it was too late, the desperation on your face evident.
"Damn, (y/l/n), never took you for the type…" She gawked at you, mouth slightly agape. It wasn't often you left her genuinely in awe of your actions.
You wearily tried to smile, but it caused your face to twist into a lopsided grimace, making both of you split your sides in laughter.
"Alright, fair is fair," She mumbled, swiping the bottle from you and copying your actions. The result was entirely the same, just reversed. You were now the one laughing at her as you pushed the limes to her.
The night went on like this. Against your better judgment, you kept gulping straight from the bottle. In between swigs, you tucked the bowl of limes and the bottle in some pillows between you both on the living room floor along with the snacks. The mixture of alcohol, popcorn, and candy sat uncomfortably in your stomach, but it didn't matter. The way Robin laughed when she drank was priceless. It made the butterflies numb the slurry in your stomach. You wanted to hold on to these moments forever. By the time Robin finally took the bottle away from you and back to the kitchen, you both weren't quite drunk, but you definitely weren't sober.
Before you knew it the movie credits were rolling and Robin was checking her watch. "Damn, mom and dad are probably on their way home." She stood from the nest of pillows and blankets on the floor and lifted her arms to stretch. The movement revealed more of her torso, her sports bra peeking out ever so teasingly. You quickly looked away before she caught you staring up at her like a freak. Little did you know, she already had and smirked to herself, cheeks heating slightly.
"We gotta be in bed by the time they get here or they'll be pissed. Ya know, school night and all," She mocked goofily.
You cleaned the living room and kitchen together and managed to finish up just as a pair of headlights appeared in the driveway. You both dashed up the stairs, racing to the bedroom together prudently. The front door opened just as you closed her bedroom door, making you both giggle like a couple of middle schoolers. In all honesty, her parents wouldn't have been all that upset if you two were still up. But it was still fun to make a harmless game out of it.
When the lights went out, you fell into a night of sleep faster than you had in months. Although you were sure the alcohol helped, you felt the safest sleeping next to Robin in the bed. Knowing she was right there made all your worries fade into the background, barely seen or noticed.
----------
It's so cold.
"Keep running!" A voice screamed at you from behind.
Something galloped behind you in hard impending steps. It was getting closer… And it felt like it had been for a while.
You sprinted through the woods, terror powering every stride you took. You couldn't bring yourself to glance back, for fear you'd catch sight of the creature pursuing you and the other person with you.
Your head throbbed, blood pulling through your veins at an alarming rate. You didn't know where you were, which filled you with even more dread.
Branches and bushes clawed at your skin like fingernails, leaving burning scratches in their wake.
The creature behind you roared, the sound rumbling deep into your gut. An approaching doom that was so close, yet somehow it hadn't arrived yet.
Suddenly a scream ripped through the air and reverberated down your spine.
Skidding to a stop, you looked behind you for the first time. A stiff body lay on the ground as a demodog feasted on the ripped-open belly. Blood. Blood was everywhere. On the leaves, the body, the demodog's face, your shoes, the trees… everything suddenly now sheened with fresh blood.
You watched helplessly as the limp body began to slowly turn its head to you and you fell to your knees in anguish.
Robin.
Robin was being eaten alive.
"Please…" She pleaded in a broken sob, however, her face showed no emotion as if she had already passed on.
You felt yourself breaking down on the inside, tears freely streaming down your face. Why didn't you reach for her behind you? Why did you leave her instead of running side by side? This was your fault. You were the reason for her suffering. You lost her because of your own selfishness.
"I'm sorry," You tried to cry out to her, but the words wouldn't form. Your throat felt like it was closing up. It stung and the breath was stolen from your lungs.
"Please…" She croaked again, blood beginning to leak from her eyes resembling the cruel form of tears. "(Y/n)..." Your name echoed from her in barely a whisper.
Your weeping was uncontrolled now and you attempted lamely to crawl to Robin’s aide.
The demodog suddenly stopped and trained its attention onto you. Although it had no eyes, you could have sworn it was looking into your very soul. Like it knew your guilt.
It gurgled and chittered menacingly, blood oozing from its odd lips in thick, viscous drips. It stepped over Robins's body, stopping and standing over her as if she were its property.
Its mouth blossomed wide in rows of teeth, Robins's flesh and blood splattering forward to the ground. A roar bellowed deep from within it, making the trees around you tremble in some sort of earthquake.
"(Y/n), please!!" Robin's voice screamed out at you. "Please, wake up!!"
The demodog lunged forward at you at terrifying speed.
"Wake up!!"
You awoke with a violent jolt, nearly tumbling off the side of the mattress you were on. Your eyes were suddenly no longer closed but wide open, darting around you for any sign of danger. Before you could get up from the bed and try to run, as was usually your first inclination after a nightmare, you felt the pressure of someone sitting on top of you at the waist. A pair of warm hands caressed your face at the sides, forcing you to look straight up at who had pinned you down.
Robins horrified but compassionate face looked down at you, her shoulders heaving in breaths as quick as yours.
"Oh thank God you're awake," She muttered, swiping your cheek with her thumb. It was cold and wet. Tears. "You started sobbing in your sleep."
The fear subsided slightly and the emotions came flooding in full force. It was all a nightmare… None of it had been real. "Oh god," You choked out, bringing your trembling hands up to her wrists. "Rob, th- that was… The worst one. That was the worst yet," You couldn't hold anything back, you couldn't stop the tears from flowing. She was okay. She wasn't dead because of you.
"Shit," She let out in a breath, then leaned down, pressing her body weight completely onto you in a type of hug.
You wrapped her in your arms and squeezed, both relieved she was okay and terrified of thinking of ever losing her. You tucked your nose into her shoulder, sobs racking your body in brutal tremors. She was so warm.
"I’m right here… I’m here…I thought they were getting better," She said nearly in a whisper. You felt her slide her hand to the back of your head and begin stroking it soothingly with her fingertips.
"They never were," You confessed in messy uneven breaths.
And that's where she left it. She didn't say another word to you that night, but you didn't need her to. The fact that she stayed there, pressing herself to you like a weighted blanket was enough. The pattern of her breathing was enough, the clean smell of her shirt was enough, the way her hair tickled your face was enough. Under her, you slowly could distance yourself from the images of the nightmare and you felt safer and safer. Only that way were you able to finally calm down and gradually let yourself fall into another slumber, tears still wet on your face.
----------
Beep beep beep beep
Robin's morning alarm… Right. You both still had school.
Your heavy eyes broke open to meet Robin's sleeping face mere inches from yours. Although no longer on top of you, she still had you pulled to her body by the waist, legs in a tangled mess.
You leaned over and hit snooze on her alarm clock, thankful Rob was one of the heaviest sleepers you had ever met.
The pillow cradled your head again and you lay there, staring at her lovingly. You watched her eyes lightly flutter in her sleep, her eyelashes thick and perfect. Her hair was an absolute bird's nest and it made you snicker to yourself. Then the events of the night before surfaced in your mind.
You had woken her up with your nightmare. God, it must have been really bad to have woken her up. Shame hollowed into a pit in your stomach and you pulled away from her touch.
You weren't sure how much longer you could take this. The nightmares weren't the only thing that had been eating you up inside for months. Every day your chest ached over Robin. Every day you wondered if today would be the day you would say something. It never was, but it was getting harder to keep it that way.
You loved her… and you wondered if maybe she could love you too.
After the night before, feeling her intimate touch when you were at your worst… hearing her lovely voice in your ear to ground you again… you knew you couldn't keep how you felt a secret anymore. Something had to be done. That felt like the breaking point.
You untangled your legs from hers and got up to begin getting ready for the school day. You were going to let Robin sleep a little longer, considering you kept her up the night before. The only thing keeping you going that morning was the fact that you could walk to first period together.
----------
Your bedroom door creaked open behind you and was paired with a quiet knock. "Hey, kid, how was Robins the other night?" Your father asked.
You paused your writing at your desk and didn't turn to look at him. "Good."
"Good, good… Sorry I had to work so late last night." It was quiet for a moment. "You… have any nightmares at her place?"
"No," You lied.
"Oh… really?"
“Really,” You nodded. Only then you turned to look at him. "She makes me feel safe, dad." You weren't going to try and hide everything from him…. Considering you were going to hide the note you were writing from him, you had to let some truth slip. Half-truths were going to have to be the compromise to keep your conscience quiet.
Your father simply nodded back at you, then told you he was heading out for work early that morning. You weren’t convinced he was fully appeased with your conversation with him, but you had other things on your mind to think about.
After his leave, you continued your writing.
Your hand ached as you wrote everything in a note. When the feelings started, the jealousy of Steve, the fear you had deep down that the feelings could ruin your friendship with her, her presence in the nightmares, your nightmare at her house, all of it. Nothing was held back. Once it was all written out and physically there in front of you… It scared you. But you weren't going to let that dampen the determination you felt to get this over with.
You asked her at the end to meet you in the alleyway next to the running track as soon as she was done with band practice. Once she knew everything, you needed to talk to her face to face. It felt like the final battle. The most telling moment.
After that, you let your pencil hover over the bottom line, hesitating to sign the note. In the end, you decided the leave it unsigned. All you could imagine was the worst-case scenario. The look of disgust Robin could have when she read it. You trusted she would know it was you based on the context and that she wouldn’t spread rumors. But if someone else were to find the note, you didn't want it to be traced back to you. This information had the potential to ruin the rest of high school for you both.
Tentatively, you folded the note and slid it into an envelope, sealing it with an ice cream cone sticker. It felt fitting.
Checking the time once you were done, you grabbed your things and went out to wait for the bus.
----------
At the end of the school day, you snuck into Robins's band practice in the gym, scouring for her trumpet case. You recognized it immediately and quickly slipped the note into it, heart beating loudly in your ears.
As quietly as you snuck in, you snuck out and made your way outside to the alleyway. You pressed your back to the cold brick and slid down, picking at your nails anxiously for her arrival.
You hoped the band director wouldn’t keep them long that day. The last thing you needed was to be sitting out there until dark or something. You missed the bus for this, so walking home in the cold at night was definitely a possibility. Sure, you could call your father, whether at the police station or at home depending on the time, but you knew he would drill you with questions as to why you were at school so late. You didn’t have the mental energy for an interrogation like that.
Before long, you heard the gravel crunching under the steps of someone approaching to your left. Too nervous to look, you kept your eyes trained on your hands in front of you. Behind them, a pair of beat-up red converse came to a stop. The person wearing them didn’t say anything, but you knew exactly who it was. Sheepishly, you raised your eyes up to meet Robin’s staring down at you. She offered a sympathetic smile and lifted the piece of paper with your handwriting on it. However, she didn’t say a word.
You raised your brow at her. “What do you want me to say?”
“Can you stand up?”
A sigh pushed out of you and begrudgingly you stood from the ground to face her. You hugged yourself, telling yourself it was because of the cold.
Robin shifted the paper in her hands and looked down at it, her expression unreadable. She was quiet, and that was out of the norm.
“I meant all of it,” You vacillated quietly, the silence between you both feeling too tense.
She nodded. “I know…” She looked up at you, eyes softening. “Can I tell you something?”
“Of course-” You were cut off by her body crashing into yours, pushing you against the brick, and her lips meeting yours. For a moment you went wide-eyed, but it didn’t take long for you to close your eyes and melt into the kiss. You felt like you were spinning as her lips fitted perfectly to yours, dancing together in a choreography that only you two knew. Her hands snaked around your waist, the letter falling to your feet and your hands found themselves weaving into her hair, pulling her face to yours as if you two could get any closer.
She was the first to pull away, warm breaths tickling your cold face. If your cheeks hadn’t been rosy before, they definitely were now.
“Did that make sense?” She whispered after a moment, a worried smile growing on her face.
You smiled back and put your forehead to hers as you cradled her cheeks. “Absolutely,” You giggled. “And I loved every word.”

It’s been a week. Since that Sunday night call with Robin. She hasn’t called back.
And you haven’t tried her phone either.
“Fuck, yes, god,” Sweets moaned on the other side of the phone call. “Jesus, Honey you’re always so good at helping me finish,” he laughs.
“Always here to help, handsome,” you smile. “Talk next week, yeah?”
“Yes ma’am, talk then,” Sweets sends a kiss through the phone and hangs up.
“Alrighty Patricia! I’m off for the night,” I’ll see you Friday.”
“Oh, Y/N, just a minute!,” Patricia hollers from the hallway. She makes her way into your office before finishing her thought. “Sorry dear, there’s a girl on the line who’s been trying to call for an hour and a half but you had Bunny and then Sweets right after each other. She’s just gotten back on the line again, I told her to call in half an hour to catch you before you call it a night.”
“Patty, I’m off at 2am every night I work, you know that, should’ve told her to call again on Friday,” you whine a little before sitting back down at your seat.
“I know hun, but she was insistent!” Patty days on her way out of your office.
You take a deep breath and get comfy in your chair, putting your feet on the desk before picking up the phone. “Thanks for calling the WLW Hotline, how long of a session would you like tonight honey? Quarter, half or a full hour?”
“Hey Y/N.”
“Robin, hi,” you pull your feet from the desk and sit up straight, leaning on your elbows over the phone base.
“Hi, uh, your coworker told me to call back in half an hour, said you were on a call the last few times I tried to get through.”
“Yeah my regulars call around now,” you say, twirling the phone cord on your pointer finger. “Honestly didn’t think I’d ever really hear from you again.”
“I know you left your rents place so I didn’t know how else to get a hold of you,” Robin says, then pauses.
You wait a moment for her to keep talking, huffing and sitting back you break the silence. “What’s up Robin? I was about to head out for the night, my shift finished after my last call.”
You hear Robin suck in a breath, “sorry. Can we, uhm talk? In person? Coffee tomorrow at 11?  Blue egg cafe?”
Heart racing—from nerves or butterflies, you don’t know—“yeah, sure.”
“Ok, uh, see you then.” She hangs up.
You’re pretty sure the heart racing and nauseous feeling in the pit of your stomach is nerves for what Robin is going to say, not butterflies at the thought of seeing her and talking to her again after so long a time. Nerves that forced you out of bed at 8 am and at Blue Egg Cafe 30 minutes before the agreed upon time.
Snagging a table outside in the cool fall air of September, you sip at your coffee. You picked a table just far enough away from the doors so people can’t eavesdrop and just close enough to where you parked that you can escape quickly if things go downhill.
You didn’t know wether to wave or just nod your head in acknowledgement when Robin showed up, just on time. Passing by the coffee shop and headed straight towards you.
She skipped the coffee part of the coffee meeting and sat right down in the seat across from you. “You knew it was me, but you didn’t say anything?”
“Wow, ok hi, good morning to you to,” you scoff. “I did my job Rob. I help people finish when they can’t, you were a call so I was doing my job. Would you have stayed on the line if I told you it was me?”
“Good morning,” she whispers. “You could’ve transferred me to someone else.”
“Just getting right into the interrogation huh,” you laugh half-heartedly, desperately wishing to leave already. “No catching up no ‘how have you been, hows the new place? The new job?’ And, no actually I couldn’t. I’m the only worker for WLW side. It took me a month of bothering my boss daily to even think of opening my line and giving me a position. And even with that he only gives me three nights of work. So no, I couldn’t transfer you. I was your only option.”
You sip on your now cold coffee.
She looks away from you as she says, “I deserved to know.”
It’s the first time she’s hidden herself from you since she sat down. Seven minutes of pure frustration seeped questioning.
“You don’t think I realize that now? It was just supposed to be another anonymous call. Another one-and-done I’d never hear from you again and we could go back to head nods when we passed on the street. I didn’t think it mattered, until you said my name.”
“I-uh.”
“Y’know what,” you say, cutting her off. “Fuck it I’m gonna say it.”
Robin looks like she’s gonna say something to stop you.
“No let me say this so if things aren’t reciprocated I can go back to trying to forget about you,” you take a deep breath before starting again. “Robin I’ve liked you since the day I met you.”
She lifts her eyes to meet yours at your confession, but you look down.
“Yeah I know pathetic. A two year long pining session. I had a crush on you the first time I met you at the mall with Steve and Dustin. And I thought maybe just maybe this would be it. This would be the feelings, the woman, that stays. And then you asked Vickie out. And I had to look happy for you even thought I had two tickets to Eddie’s big show in my pocket that day and was about to ask you to go with me as a date. I had to look happy because you were finally going out with the girl you crushed on through all of high school.”
“But you went to that concert with Steve?”
You laugh, “Yeah after I sobbed to him about how stupid I was to listen to him and Eddie and make a move.”
“Wha-I,” she looked at you with something in her eyes, but you couldn’t tell what.
“Please don’t pity me if that’s what you’re about to do,” you interrupt her with a laugh. “I’ve done enough of that for myself these last two years.”
Rob looks into her empty hands that sit on the table. You pause, searching her downturned face for any sort of familiarity or reciprocation.
“Can I ask one thing before I leave so we don’t have to see each other again?” you ask after a moment.
She looks up, with eyes that have the lightest of hurt laced in them
“Why did you stop talking to me? After getting with Vickie. Did I do something? Say something?”
“Uh, no. Actually that was my fault, no fault of yours at all. Um, Vickie asked me to stop being close to you because I couldn’t stop talking about how great you are and how much fun we’d had that summer,” she smiles to herself.
You don’t respond, finger tracing lightly around the rim of your empty coffee cup. You shift your chair out, ready to get up and escape but pause when Robin starts again.
“That’s also why we broke up. I was thinking of you a lot recently and let old habits slip out.”
“You-“
“Let me say something now, please,” she says looking at you.
You nod and let Robin continue.
“I know this sounds bad but, I don’t think I ever loved Vickie. Even when I said I did. I think it was just a reaction, something I thought I needed to say, she was someone I thought I needed because I’d spent so many years waiting for her. It was good, at the beginning, don’t get me wrong,” she smiles up at you. “We we’re happy, and the sex was great.”
“I don’t-“ you cringe.
“Sorry, sorry, you don’t need to hear that part,” she pauses. “But then we stopped, sorry, having sex and she stopped wanting me in that way and I stopped wanting her in that way and our personalities were too different and I was out and she wasn’t and there was so much wrong, but we stayed together,” she rambles.
“I wanted to share her with my people, to show her off, to worship her and her body like I want to worship my forever partner. But she said I was becoming ‘too much,’” Robin scoffs. “And so I backed off, tried to minimize myself to be what she wanted, and started thinking of you. And how easy it was when that summer we met. How myself I was. And I started bringing you up again. Steve told me that you moved out of your parents place like you always said you wanted to, how Eddie said you’d been to every. Single. One. Of his shows and had been the loudest one in the crowd. They said how happy you were, are, now. And I told Vickie all of it, as if she knew you, as if we were all old friends, and she got angry, said it was the last straw and left me. She asked me if I ever talked about her like I did you, when I didn’t answer, she said what I think I already knew. That I was in love, with you. That I am.”
You smile at her. Robin finds your hand on the table, holding it in hers and running her thumb in circles on the top of your hand. The two of you look at your hands together on the table, reveling in the warmth of the other. But you pull your hand away and stand up. Robin looks up at you, eyes full of love and want until you hold your hand out to her in a silent invitation.
She stands up and takes it, walking with you to your car around the corner. Once you get to your car you move to unlock your door with the keys and find Robin’s warmth at your back. She hugs you from behind, kissing the back of your neck while her hands roam your clothed stomach and drift up to your boobs. You moan as she takes them in her hands and squeezes through your shirt, grinding your ass back into her, your hands fumbling with the keys. You turn around to face Robin, desperately finding her lips with your own and catching her in a searing kiss before pushing her lightly away from you.
She laughs and walks slowly to the passenger side of your car. You successfully unlock your door and sit down behind the wheel before leaning over and unlocking her door. She climbs in and leans into you while you put on your seatbelt, leaving hot open mouthed kisses along the right side of your neck.
“Robin,” you moan out. “It’s a ten minute drive.”
She halts her kisses up your neck and sits back to buckle up. The drive is quiet, but full of want and heat. You’re both silent as you walk up to the door of your house on the outskirts of downtown Hawkins. Patience is wearing thin as you both know what the future of tonight might bring, and as soon as you open the door and let Robin in first you follow behind, slamming the door and grabbing her wrist to turn her back towards you. You spin the two of you in a circle and push her back into the door, lips meeting hers in a hungry kiss.
She grunts as her back hits the wood, but that noise quickly turns into a wanton moan as you kiss her deeply and push a knee between her legs.
Licking the seam of her lips, she opens her mouth and your tongues caress and memorize the taste of each other. She grinds her clothing-covered pussy onto your thigh that rests at the apex of hers, and you pull back slightly noticing the line of spit that connects her lips to yours.
“Are you sure?” you ask, panting.
“I’ve never been more sure of anything,” Robin sighs, nudging your nose with her own, her lips hovering yours.
You smile into a brief peck to her lips and take her hand in yours. The two of you are laughing and falling over one another in your attempt to lead Robin to your bedroom. As soon as you enter your room, Robin pushes you to sit on the edge of your bed and straddles you. Your hands find a home on her hips as you look up at her.
“I think I’ve loved you since that movie night at Eddie’s a month after you moved to town,” Robin says, hands resting on each side of your neck as she looks down at you from her seat in your lap.
“Really?” you laugh, running your hands around her back and pushing up her shirt slightly so you could put hands to skin. “What about that night?”
“You brought everyone’s favorite snack and drink without us asking and with only knowing us all for two weeks,” she smiles, thumbs lightly tracing over your cheeks.
“You remember that?”
She nods her head, “the amount of care and love you had for people you’d just met was beautiful. You were beautiful,” she pauses to kiss you lightly. “You are beautiful.”
She captures your lips in another kiss and you pull her closer to you, hands on the skin of her back. She grinds down on you as you continue to swallow moans between kisses before pausing to pull her shirt the rest of the way off from where you’d begun to bunch it below her bra strap. You look at her, eyes asking silent permission, and unclasp her bra once she nods.
Her chest is bare to you, all full and open and waiting for worship which you’ll willingly give. And so you kiss from the hollow at the base of her neck to the valley between her breasts. Her head drops back and she whimpers as you leave kisses across each breasts fullness, kissing atop her pebbled nipples. When you take her right bud into your mouth she moans loudly, her hands coming to rest on the back of your head, keeping you to her as you lick and suck and nibble on her sensitive nipple. You pull back and blow cold air over her wet nipple, reveling in the shudder that racks her body and the goosebumps that decorate her skin before giving her left breast the same treatment. All the while, she continues to grind down into you.
She whines as you pull away from her heaving chest, looking down at you with lust before trying for your lips. You put your hands on her neck and lead her to you, meeting her lips in a sweet kiss before asking, “what do you want me to do?”
“Please, mommy,” she pleads. “Touch me.”
You smile and place a kiss to her neck before pushing her hips away and getting her to stand up. She does, standing on shaky legs, and you do as well, falling to your knees before her and dropping a kiss to each of her hips before looking to her for approval. She nods and you unbutton her jean shorts, tugging them down her long legs and slowly lifting each foot to remove the shorts, placing a sweet kiss to each ankle as you do. You trail your hands up the outside of her legs and loop your fingers into the waist of her underwear, pulling them down her legs and dropping them with her shorts on the floor at the foot of your bed.
Leaning in, you pepper hot, open-mouthed kisses up her thighs and puff warm air onto her cunt at the apex of her thighs. She moves back, pushing her pussy away from you and placing her hands on your shoulders, her mouth open in a hot, deep breath. You look up at her from your place on your knees before her and meet her eyes.
“Want my mouth or my fingers baby?” you ask.
“Mouth,” Robin responds with bated breath.
You stand and remove your own clothes, Robin staring at every new inch of exposed skin as you discard them atop the pile of hers. She watches as you climb onto the bed and lay on your back, head by the top of your bed and placing a pillow below your head.
You lean up on your elbows and beckon her to you, “c’mere baby.”
She crawls on all fours up your body, capturing your mouth in a kiss and laying her naked body on your own. Skin on skin now, you moan into each other’s mouths, hips grinding into each other. You remove yourself from the kiss and Robin whines, mouth chasing after yours.
“Ah ah, you wanted my mouth didn’t you?”
“Mhm.”
“Words baby,” you say pushing her hair behind her ear.
“Yes, please mommy.”
“That’s my good girl. Now move up baby.”
She pauses and looks at you questioningly, so you move her yourself, grabbing her ass and pulling her cunt towards your mouth.
She grabs on to the headboard and stops  herself before her sweet pussy reaches your lips.
“Good, grab the headboard,” you smile up at her, reveling in the sight of her above you. “Now ride my mouth like you rode your hand last week.”
She doesn’t move so you smack her ass causing her hips to jump and putting her cunt just close enough for you to lick a stripe up it. She moans out with a full body shudder.
“Sit.”
And she finally follows directions, bringing her pussy to your mouth and riding your face. She pushes her cunt into you and you take the chance to suck her clit into your mouth. Robin bucks her hips and moans out your name. You let go with a pop and let Robin abuse your mouth like she did your hand, licking and sucking wherever and whenever she’ll let you. Once she finds a good pace, you flick your tongue in a circle around her hole before fucking up into her. She cries out as you do and grinds further onto your face, catching her clit on the tip of your nose.
You’re growing wetter by the second with the noises and sweet taste of her pussy, so you trail your hand down your stomach and to your own center. You flick and circle your clit as Robin rides you before slowly finger fucking yourself to the same pace that your fucking her with your tongue.
You’re watching her face contort in pleasure as you touch yourself and suck and lick at her cunt, and when she looks down she’s met with your cunt-drunk eyes eager for her to finish. She grinds her hips three more times before shuddering to a stop, pussy clenching while she’s cumming in your mouth. You remove your hand from your own cunt and hold her thighs, keeping her above you as you eagerly lap up her juices, licking up her pussy and suckling her clit through her orgasm.
Her thighs are shaking on either side of your head once she comes out of her high, and she slowly lifts one leg and moves off from above you.
She looks at you with love-drunk, fucked out eyes, her eyes coming to rest on her cum glistening on your lips and chin. Robin moves her body down, hip aligned with yours and kisses you deeply, tasting herself on your lips. You groan into her as her hand traces circles around your nipples bringing them to erect tips. She flicks and pinches them, never letting her mouth leave yours, tongue searching to taste more of herself on yours. Goosebumps raise on your skin as she trails her hand down your stomach to your mound, fingers nestling between your folds to run circles round your clit. You moan and turn your head away from her and into the pillow, and her lips attach to newly exposed skin on your neck.
“You didn’t finish,” she whispers between kisses.
She sucks and bites and leaves bruises behind her as she memorizes your neck and shoulder with her lips, and your cunt with her fingers. She runs her palm down your pussy cupping you before dipping a finger into your wet, warm hole. You clench around her finger and feel her lips trail down your chest and stomach. Opening your eyes to find her on her stomach between your thighs. She pushes another finger inside you at the same time that she licks circles around your clit with her tongue. You jolt at the wetness and your hands rush to her hair to hold her there. She moans into your pussy when you grip and pull at her hair and the vibration causes the coil that was already tight in your stomach to break and your orgasm hits you like a ton of bricks. Your back arches and your thighs tighten around Robin’s head as she continues to finger fuck and lick at your cunt helping you through the orgasm that runs through you.
You don’t register when Robin removes her hand from you, or when she drops kisses along your mound, hips, stomach and breasts before laying her head atop your chest. All you remember before sleep overtakes you both are six little words said by each of you.
“I’ve loved you all this time.”

So Pretty, It Hurts
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
© Skyebounded, do not use my work, but you may share it.
.main masterlist. .stranger things masterlist.
premise: You’ve fallen for her and can’t help the urge to tell her just that, but it might not have gone the way you expected..
Warnings: pining, swearing, angst, you know the drill my friends.
WC: 3.7k
A/N: I have nothing to say that would make this any less sad, so....enjoy!? Also I listened to, ‘so pretty it hurts’ and “we fell in love in october” by girl in red....so yeah.
Tumblr media
So pretty it hurt was a mere understatement of how it felt to look at Robin, she was nothing shy of stunningly beautiful. Everything she did, pure perfection, you were convinced, and you had been for some time now. Even in her clumsiest moments, she could never seem to be anything less than perfect. You would gladly spend the rest of your days proving that to her, in every way you could, in every way she would allow, however, anytime you got the urge to tell her this, you fell short. There was never a right moment, the looming fear of rejection buzzing over your head anytime you opened your mouth to tell her. So you kept it to yourself, day in and day out wondering if you would ever get the chance to do so. It made your heartache the more you kept it in, the more you hid it from her, but how were you supposed to tell your best friend, that you were in love with her, and that you wanted to worship the very ground she walked on, especially when she made no gesture that she would even be open to the idea…you didn’t.
“Do you think Steve is bringing someone?” Robin asked, mindlessly staring down at a rather loud-looking blouse, twiddling the buttons of it between her pinched fingers. You’re not sure how long you had been staring at her, as she stood in front of your closet, flipping through the endless amounts of colorfully dull shirts with ridiculous patterns on them. You were supposed to be on the way to the drive-in at this point, but alas here you were, killing time as robin had called it, patiently awaiting your ride. Your stomach twinges at the sound of Harrington’s name, Robin’s newfound best friend, one that you weren’t completely sold on. Ever since her summer working at scoops, Steve had weaseled his way into most of your conversations, and you couldn’t be any less amused by it. The truth was, ever since high school, Robin had been obsessed with the boy with flawless hair, and a rather arrogant stance, and then as soon as they started to work together last summer, things changed, Steve became her- well, you didn’t know what they were to each other, but you hated it. He wasn’t supposed to be here, in your lives. You had hoped that all those years of seeing him at school, seeing how arrogant and downright stupid he was would eventually open Robin’s eyes so that she could finally see how much of a loser he was, and how much she shouldn’t like him, but clearly, that hadn’t worked in the slightest. Just like he had with Nancy Wheeler, Tabitha Jones, and all the other countless girls, he had Robin Buckley falling for him moment by moment. At least Nancy Wheeler had her eyes opened to her rather quickly and was able to get out, but Robin was now trapped..
“Y/n?”
Looking up at Robin, you took note of the hopefulness in her eyes, the way she was still clinging onto one of your shirts, the very one that Steve had commented on last year as a simple ‘nice shirt, looks good on you’ as if she was pleading silently with you to allow her to wear it. You twitch at the thought of Robin in your clothes and grimace at the thought of Steve commenting on it.
“Sorry, what was the question?” you sigh, situating yourself against the headboard of your bed. Robin scoffed her typical scoff, as she let go of the shirt, moving on to the next one. “I said, do you think that Steve is going to be bringing a girl with him?” there it was, that familiar feeling of self-loathing, and jealousy that you didn’t want to acknowledge. You didn't care, that's what you had been telling yourself for the past year, you didn’t care. you weren’t jealous, weren’t bothered in the slightest. You didn’t care.
“Why does it matter?” The question fell from your lips in more of a rather harsh tone, not that you intended it that way, but you couldn’t help it. Mindlessly you grab one of your throw pillows, twisting the edge of it, hoping to redirect your attention away from the conversation. You hadn’t noticed that Robin had shot you a rather curious look.
“You know what's strange?” she asks, shutting your closet doors rather abruptly. You hum in question, “You seem to rather dislike Harrington a lot lately? And anytime I mention his name you get all stiff..” You fight the urge to hit her with attitude and surmise that a shrug would suffice as a way to break up your response.
“I’m not stiff, I just don’t understand why he’s always around. Like doesn't he have other friends to hang out with or at least other women to prey on?” that last bit you albeit whispered, wasn’t meant for her to hear. Robin moves over to the bed tapping your shoe as a means to tell you to move. You pull your legs into a cross, making room for her to sit down in front of you.
“What’s your problem with him, you know, not to stroke his ego or anything, but he’s a great person, I know, hard to believe, but he is, he’s a lot different than he used to be.” She smiles softly, watching you carefully. This time you couldn’t help it, you spoke before thinking. “Ohh well isn’t that fantastic.” it was meant to sound sarcastic, but well it just sounded harsh, which ultimately earned a rather offended look on Robin’s face. “What? I just don’t get it, what do you see in him, besides he’s your friend, so like what does my opinion matter? Unless he’s more than your friend..” You add, your body tensing up, that wasn’t how you meant to say that, but again, oh well. You hated talking about this with her, especially since you had no idea where they stood with each other, Robin and Steve. Robin looks at you, a shred of realization forming in her mind. “Eh no way, he is just my friend..” she says, that hint of amusement in her voice. “I feel like if you got to know him you’d-”
It was a pure impulse, the way you leaned forwards without thought, and pressed your lips against her perfectly glossed ones. You had been watching her, watching the way her plush lips moved as she spoke, and that's what prompted you. Your heart hammered, your ears rang, and everything you knew disappeared for the moment. You were kissing her. The only thing that you had been able to think about for the past few months, the only thing that had been consuming you, was finally happening. You were beyond all reasonable thought, controlled only by your want for her that it was clouding your judgment. She had given you the smallest form of reassurance, and you’re not even sure that's what it was, but you were determined to take it as such. She saw Steve as a friend. So you did it, kissed her. Perhaps it was out of jealousy, though you would more so like to call it an impulsive decision, but the thing was, it felt right to do it. You had been in love with Robin for some time now, and the moment you knew it, was the moment she took even more of an interest in lover boy Steve, or so you thought, so you kept it to yourself, not sure how your best friend would react to your sudden and newfound feelings, but now, well now was as good as time as any.
Kissing her, like this, now, it felt right to you, and perhaps that had been simply because you had wanted her for so long, but it didn’t matter right now. Feeling that sense of greed filling you, you wanted more of her. Your hand finds her cheek in a desperate attempt to pull her closer, but she pulls away from you before you could start, a startled and accusing look on her face. She clearly hadn’t been expecting it, and from the looks of it, she hadn’t wanted it either.
“What was that! Why did you do that?” she asks, the familiar sounds of a panicked rant filled your ears, as she stares deeply at you, her lips now pressed together. You had never seen Robin look at you like this before, that look of disapproval, but not over something you had said, but more so over something you had done, something that she ultimately didn’t like. You didn't know what to think. All of your thoughts and feelings had started to erupt, every single one rushing to the forefront of your mind, fighting against each other. That wasn’t how this was supposed to go, she wasn’t supposed to be upset, that you were sure of.
The abrupt jolt of the bed as she stands up as you snapped back to reality, and on your feet as well. Taking a cautious step towards her, she retreated, her eyes darting around the room as if she was looking for someone to save her from you, like she now found herself uncomfortable in your presence. The thought tugged at your heart more than you cared to admit.
“Robin I-” you start but fall short instantly. You weren’t sure what to say right off the bat, you hadn’t planned on it going this way, but to be fair, you hadn’t even planned on kissing her in the first place. You had been holding on to that for as long as you could remember, and were waiting for the right moment, but there never seemed to be one, so you threw caution to the wind, only for it to blow up in your face. She was waiting for you to explain, you could see it in her eyes, the way she was searching yours intently, as if the answers to her questions lay just beyond them. You had to tell her, to get your feelings out, that was the only thing that made sense to you, telling her. “Robin I have to tell you something, I have to tell you how I feel about you-” It was clear that the more you spoke, the more she squirmed, the more she recluses into herself. She shook her head, muttering soft ‘nos’ as you gazed at her.
“Robin please, it is killing me, let me explain!” There was fear in your tone, shaky and panicked. Robin slowly shook her head, hoping that the words that were about to flow out of your mouth would cease. She didn’t want to have this conversation, not now, not ever if she could avoid it, but that wasn’t going to be the case, you were determined to get it off of your chest, to tell her exactly what ailed you day and night. She turned away from you, pulling her gaze to the floor, her foot kicking at the tuff of the carpet. “y/n what are you doing? Why did you do that? You can’t just- just…” She groaned. You could hear the way she was upset, it was clear, and it only made you want to explain yourself even more, make her see your side, but you couldn’t fight the lingering panic of rejection festering inside of you. Stepping forward you clasp your hands together, a silent prayer, hoping that she would just hear you out.
“Robin, I can explain…I have to tell you…I love you, I am in love with you and I can’t help it, I-” but she silenced you almost immediately. “Y/n stop…just stop..” She held her hand out, a gesture for you to keep your mouth shut. You couldn’t ignore the sting festering inside you, the bile resting just beyond your throat. Why didn’t she want to hear it? Why didn’t she feel the same? It was killing you, to hear her so adamant to keep you from spilling your darkest secrets. For as long as you had known each other, you had never told her just how deeply you felt for her, never mentioned the fact that you liked girls, liked her, you weren’t even entirely sure if she liked girls, she had never expressed so, and not to mention, the looming presence of Steve Harrington always around her, it was hard to get a read on her, but there it was. Pulling your lips into a thin line, you studied her, watching the crease in her brow relax momentarily before she was back to arching her brows. “Robin I like you,no i mean I love you, and I can’t change that, I want to be with you, I want you-”
“Stop it! Please y/n stop it!” she shouted, her voice cracking as it always did when she was adamant about something, you could see the way her chest was rising and falling at such a rapid rate. “You can’t say those things….you can’t just…. You can’t just kiss me, what were you thinking?” she started, her eyes darting around the room. “We are friends, best friends, you can’t!” you could see her trembling in her movements, each flail of her arms as she tried to express herself.
“Robin, please just let me explain, please.” you beg, your shoulders fell, that familiar feeling of defeat residing in you. God, all you needed was the chance to explain yourself to her, a simple little explanation of why you did what you did. Robin didn’t say anything at first, she just stared at you, her whole body rigid, her face fixed in a permanent scowl.
“Robin…..” you start, instantly feeling your stomach twist into a knot, and your heart begins to pound. “You know, I have spent a good portion of my days thinking about you, wishing that at some point you would open your eyes and see me, not Steve, not anybody, but me. Robin, I am in love with you and have been since freshman year of high school and who knows maybe for longer than that, and I am tired of hiding that fact from you. You know,I always noticed when you would stare at Steve, watching him daily, talking about him like you were so utterly obsessed with him, and the thing is, I always wanted you to stare at me like that. I wanted you to be obsessed with me, not fucking Steve Harrington, but I could never seem to understand the appeal he had on you, and I still don't.”
“Y/n it was never about Steve…..” Robin blurts.
“No, because it was. While you watched Steve, I watched you Robin, your obsession with him being the only thing that kept me from doing anything. I don't understand why you were so fascinated with him but..I just don't understand why it wasn’t me. Why wasn’t it ever me?”
You could feel the ache in your chest, the burning tension that consumed your body, it hurt. Robin shook her head, exhaling a small breath before her eyes met yours once more. You couldn’t quite make out that expression, the one that was on her face, and it scared you, especially because you could tell it was nothing good. What was she thinking?
“It was never about Steve, it was always about Tammy,” she states plainly.
There it was, that stab, that numbness beginning to spread throughout you. Tammy? It was about Tammy?
“Tammy? Tammy Thompson?” You spoke softly, feeling a slight prickle in your eyes.
Robin nodded, and you wondered if she would expand on her response.
“She had always been obsessed with Steve, and I could never figure out why, what was so great about him…you know? And so I became obsessed with him, trying to figure out what was so great about him, and why, just why she was so infatuated with him, because the truth was, I wanted her to look at me that way, I wanted her to want me.” Her voice broke, and you wonder if it’s because she understood what she was saying, she had been wanting the same thing that you had, just not with you. You couldn’t help the burning question that was resting on your tongue.
“You like girls…?” you knew what the answer was, she had just admitted it, but there was something about wanting to hear her actually confirm it, say it out loud. She glanced around the room a moment, taking a deep breath.
“Yeah..not boys, and definitely not Steve Harrington…”
You felt your body cave, and your shoulders drooped. Why had she never told you? Granted you hadn’t told her, but why? Did she not feel comfortable with you, with your friendship, to not tell you? You weren’t sure what hurt you more. Perhaps the fact that all this time, she was like you, into girls, the only difference being, she wasn’t into you like you were, her.
“And now…well there is Vicky..” she added. Hearing those words so plainly said, falling from her lips was the topper to the falling cake. You had not ever, not once been on her mind and it showed. The thing was, you had always wondered how Robin had felt, if she was the same as you. Liked girl, and hearing that she did, well that hurt more than the thought of Steve Harrington. It was the fact that you had been there with her, since day one, her best friend, and she had overlooked you in every way possible, and the very moment that you decide to say fuck all and act on your feelings, she couldn’t be any more disinterested in the idea. You found it hard to find your voice, as you stared at her with that blank look on your face. What was left to say? You weren’t sure.
“Vicky.” you breath, feeling like your feet were glued to the floor despite your want to move, to step away and collect your thoughts. Robin’s eyes scanned your features, the smallest bit of pity hiding behind them.
“Y/n….” you could tell she wasn’t really sure what she wanted to say, not even sure that you would want to hear it regardless, no you reckoned that you didn’t.
“No, sorry that was stupid of me, I should have just…..should have just kept quiet..”
“No it's just, you are my best friend, and I really appreciate it, I do, but that is all I will ever see you as, and it’s not going to change. I don’t want to lose you, though.”
There was no shred of emotion or inflection in her tone, none at all, it almost felt like she had turned off that part of her. The words stung, more so than her pushing you off of her. Nothing hurt more than hearing her tell you, you would never be more than just a friend to her, her best friend. What more could you do? Pursing your lips together you just bob your head, the tears being kept at bay by nothing but sheer will. The truth was, you weren’t even sure that you could allow that. To be by her side like always, but never able to be by her side. Having to watch her be with people other than you. That wasn’t a pain you wanted to feel. You felt stupid, humiliated, like a failure. You were numb. So unbelievably numb. Not only did she not want you the way you wanted her, but you also couldn’t shake the fact that she hadn’t told you that she liked girls. You had been her best friend, and she had failed to tell you.
Robin shuffled slightly, leaning forward like she wanted to give you a hug or some pathetic form of comfort, but she stopped herself, pulling back to her respectable spot, watching you closely like you were a bomb ready to explode. A loud honk came from outside, pulling both of you to glance out the window to see Harrington’s car parked on the curb. The smile on Robin’s face was sickening. You knew now that Steve wasn’t the object of her desire, but something about it, about them, you couldn’t watch it anymore. Robin waves her hand, snapping you back to reality as you look at her.
“Come on, we are going to be late..”
Feeling the tears prickling in your eyes you just shake your head. You couldn’t seem to understand why she was so fine, so totally okay with the way she just crushed you. Perhaps she was hiding it well, and deep down it really hurt her, bothered her even, but if it did, she wasn’t showing it in the slightest.
“Robin I can’t-” you start, taking a deep breath, feeling a single tear roll down your face. “I can’t be your friend anymore….I can’t sit here pretending that I am okay, because I’m not. I am sorry but I can’t.” You say, your voice trembling. She could see it, the pain that was residing in you.
“Wha-what?” There was panic in her tone, panic over losing you.
“Please, it hurts, please just let me go…” You couldn’t bring yourself to look her in the eyes anymore, the tears in your own were starting to build up more, and you were praying that she would just finally leave. Pulling you into a tight hug, you could tell she wanted to argue, to tell you that you were being selfish, but just as she goes to open her mouth, Steve honks his horn once more. Taking in a sharp breath, you pulled her off of you as gracefully as you could.
“You better go, you don’t want to be late,” you say softly.
Robin gave you one last broken look, her eyes holding that strange sense of pity behind them. She knew she couldn’t fight you on it, so without saying so much as a bye, Robin turned on her heel, and disappeared out of your room. You didn’t let go of the breath you had been holding until you heard Steve drive away, nor did you let the tears fall until you were sure that you were completely alone. Streaming down your face, as you dropped to the floor, pulling your legs up to your chest, staring blankly at your door, somehow wondering if she would come back, but as you sat there, seconds turned to minutes and eventually turned to hours. She wasn’t coming back. Robin Buckley, your best friend, had just walked out of your life, forever.

“Alright, you better find something good! And if you don’t, I’m taking my money back!” Steve was in the process of trying to get Robin and I food, more people have come in today which tired us out. Hence us of course wanting food. And it was Steve’s day to run and get it.
“No, you aren’t! You’re gonna eat it, I don’t care. Or you just get to waste your money, but you aren’t taking anything back!” Yelling while he was going out the door. Now Robin and I are alone besides the very few customers that are now here.
Robin goes to take a seat behind the counter, pulling out a magazine. She looks beautiful, so stunning. She doesn’t seem like the type to judge over serious stuff, but I don’t need her to think I like her. Then she might distance herself from me.
Ugh, it makes me want to cry. She is so amazing, and she can’t be mine. And I can’t be hers, because she doesn’t like girls. It makes me want to cry.
“Are you alright?” Snapping me out of my trance, I look up to see Robin looking up at me, magazine now abandoned on her lap. Realizing that tears had actually started coming to my eyes and some already slipped. I swiped them off my cheek and got up, I need to leave before the water gates release.
“Yeah,” giving her no time to react, I immediately left to go to the backroom’s bathroom. She still has customers to deal with, she will have no time to deal with me. And by the time she wants to, Steve will be back, and she won’t want to say stuff with him around.
Oh, how wrong was I. She was already out of her seat and back here with me by the time I was sitting against the wall. She was looking at me, concern burning in her eyes, while tears were burning in mine.
I looked up at her again, letting myself daze while the tears were running. How can I be crying almost so calmly? Because I’m looking at the woman I adore, and I think the absolute world of. How lovely she looks today. She looks lovely every day, but she did her eyeliner and mascara amazingly. It matches her eye shape beautifully.
There is no one she would ever agree to be with me. Never. I’m not even sure she trusts me that much. She goes to Steve with every worry and concern or just anything she has to say. Anytime she is talking to me, Steve is also there. And most of the attention is on him.
Of course, she has a crush on Steve “the Hair” Harrington. Oh, how it is killing me inside. He gets everyone, including the girl of my dreams. She doesn’t know how much I stare at her every day. She doesn’t know how much I think about her on my way home. She doesn’t know that I pick up extra shifts just so I can see her any time I can.
She and Steve always go out. Not with me. I don’t go anywhere with anyone. I barely talk to anyone either. I talk to Steve regularly, but I don’t know if he would consider me his friend. I don’t even know if I have any. But we have some fun conversations. He barely knows anything personal about me. No one does. No one has even a clue if I dated anyone, I did, but they kept it all secret so no one would know.
But I’m fine with that. Because I only want one person. And it’s the girl who is now crouching in front of me panicking and shaking me and trying to wipe the tears off of my face.
Funny, pretty, Robin.
The only thing I want out of life is to be with her.
“Y/N! What the hell is going on? You are scaring the shit out of me! Can you hear me?” The worry was streaking her face, it hurt me to see it on her. She of course still looked beautiful, but now she was distressed. Because of me.
“I’m perfectly fine, why are you so worried? You shouldn’t be so upset because of me,” she looked at me like I was absolutely crazy.
“What? You aren’t fine! And I am sure of it. What is going on? You can tell me. You can always tell me.” So sweet, so kind. To someone who absolutely didn’t deserve it.
She is looking at me, pleading eyes. I have to give her an answer, I owe her one.
“I just want something I won’t ever be able to have. And it is killing me inside, seeing it in front of me every day. Knowing it will always be out of reach.” Ending it off with a really sad smile. I confessed, not everything, but I confessed something.
Someday she will know what I mean, but not today.
I didn’t get to see her reaction; I couldn’t deal with looking back at her face. I looked down back to my lap. Avoiding her gaze.
“How do you know it will never happen?” I just know, I say to myself. I can’t bring myself to hurting the person who has brought me happiness, but also sorrow every day. “At least try, screw it if it doesn’t work. Run away or something. We will always be your family. As small as we are. Me and Steve. We can introduce you to some of our friends.”
I love you. I love you. I’m holding back from saying it. I can’t. She makes it seem so easy. But I can’t get the words out. These words are weighing me down. Keeping me tied to this ground, in this moment.
“You really want me to try it?” Looking up at her again. She swallowed, like she was nervous. How could she be nervous? Is she scared she might say the wrong thing?
“If it will make you happy, then yes.” That is all I needed. I can’t second guess myself anymore. I lunge forward and catch her lips in mine. She doesn’t move.
I don’t know if that is a good sign or a bad one. But I think it’s a bad one. But before I can pull away, she kisses me back as gently and hard as I am kissing her. She grabs my jaw with her right hand. and grabs my leg with her left. She is going to be the death of me.
I move my legs apart and slightly bend them, so I can drag Robin into my lap. And forget anything else exists. I guess she did know what I meant. Someday is today.
Robin is in my lap and above me, she has her left arm now bracing herself on the wall. My fingers are drawing circles on her hips. My tongue is in her mouth. It feels amazing. I have never felt more love and comfort in my whole life, than right now. Oh my. Heaven on earth is so true. People weren’t kidding, it is earth-shattering when you kiss the person you love for the first time.
My thighs are laying along her back, so she can’t escape. I need to stay in this moment. But she pulls away. No. No. This is where it ends. She regrets it.
She looks down into my eyes. A smile on her face that implies she is so stupidly happy. I smile looking back up at her.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do that. But I always thought I would be the one pulling you into my lap.” This is the girl who reigns over me. Who could ask me to do anything, and it would be done faster than anything else I have done in my life.
“Don’t worry, you will still get to. This isn’t going to be the last time this happens.” I say, so goofily. She gives me a little chuckle. Both of her hands are now on my biceps. “I have always wanted one of those work romances, like you meet your lover at work, and it turns out to be the best thing ever.” Now she busts out in her adorable laugh, where when she can’t contain it, she gives a short “ha!” but has to look up at the ceiling for a second. “What can I say? I am a sucker for romance novels, too bad all of them are with a man and a woman.” She looks back down at me.
“We have to change that.” I need to say everything. Everything now.
“Robin Buckley,” getting a long breath in before I start my wild confession. “I love you so much. You are the thing that keeps me coming to work here every day. How much I would give for you, is unbelievable. My, you are so beautiful. So lovely. I stare at you so much; it seems like I am stalking you.
“You must look in the mirror all morning, do you? I don’t know how anyone can resist your beauty. How anyone can ignore it. Your hair matches your personality so perfectly. And the frame of your face. Your lips look so kissable, and they are. Your freckles dot my future. I could spend the rest of my life connecting them to create the most beautiful art ever, but it still wouldn’t be as great as you.
“I just can’t resist staring at your eyes, that is the most entrancing part about you. Nothing has the same color as them. The most unique and beautiful color in the world. Even if I did find something the same color as them, I would never look at that thing again. Or I would destroy it. Only you deserve that beautiful shade and color. No one else. I refuse to see it on anything else, I only want to see it on you. Oh, I could go on for days, freckles.” She looks down at me, tears are threatening their way out of her eyes. “My beautiful freckles.”
I’m not saying anything anymore, she rushed to kiss me. She is holding both sides of my head really hard. Man, I would let her hands squish my head into pieces, even her thighs will get the pleasure of doing that too.
I’m holding onto her sides tight. She is kissing me with so much vigor, her tongue rushing into my mouth. This isn’t a sweet kiss. This is a “I need you” kiss. I can feel a tear on my cheek, I open my eyes and see some tears flowing down her face. Wow, her make up smudged will look so pretty. No, stop thinking about that. We are still at work.
Wait, we are still at work. We probably still have customers, maybe waiting at the counter.
“Finally! But can you guys choose a better time! We still have customers, and they are at the register. And very pissed!” We rushed away from each other to turn and see Steve to our left. Shit. Shit. Shit.
“Sorry!” I rush up onto my feet and help him put the food on the table that he got for all of us. I bounce out of the room to help the customers, apologizing every second I can.
“I see you got the girl.” You could hear them from the backroom.
“I did, and my life is already so much better now that I have her.”

Robin With A Bimbo Girlfriend - Headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i don’t know if you wanted headcanons or a oneshot but i was feeling some headcanons so here you go ☺️
and sorry it took so long, i kept rewriting these but i’m happy with how they came out in the end 🤍
when you first walked into family video robin was head over heels
you came in, asking about some movie your friends had recommended to you
she was struck by the way your eyes twinkled as you smiled
from that moment on she always noticed you and you started to come in more and more often
if it wasn’t for steve she would have never asked you to hang out
and if it wasn’t for you she might have never actually confessed how she felt
“go out? like on a date?” you asked, all cheerful and chirpy
robin wasn’t going to ask you on a date, not when she still didn’t know if you were into girls too
but there was something about the way you said it, she knew it wasn’t a joke
you were being serious and you actually sounded excited about the idea
“uh-um-yeah” she stumbled, completely awestruck by how open you were about it
i mean it was 1986, being gay wasn’t a particularly acceptable thing
your smile only widened in reply
so the two of you started going out, regularly might i add
until one day you just kind of became official
steve was the only one who knew for quite a while but eventually her friends noticed how close the two of you were
she came to realise that you didn’t seem to realise, or care, that being in a same sex relationship was so taboo
you’d hold her hand in public, laugh and press a kiss to her cheek whenever she did something you found cute
she wasn’t quite prepared for it, to say the least, but she was happy
the longer you were together, the more she realised how you were almost as dumb as steve
and she meant that in the most affectionate way
it was charming, cute even, how much of an airhead you were about things
once you asked her what a tampon was, you’d really never seen one before
you thought it was a candy at first until you unwrapped it, then you assumed it was something that you put up your nose when you have a nosebleed
“you don’t know what a tampon is?” she asked, genuinely baffled
“of course i do, i’ve just never used one. i usually stick to pads”
she loved all your cute little moments like that, especially when you would try and figure things out for yourself before asking her
you’d look all concentrated and focused, she could always see the cogs in your brain turning as your thoughts consumed you
you’d be asking yourself so many questions, running through every possibility before you came to a conclusion
sometimes you were right, sometimes you were wrong
either way, robin adored every second of it
she was always so patient with you, watching quietly with a sparkle in her eye while she waited for you
when most people would grow impatient and yell, she was always so gentle and sweet with you
never raising her voice, never calling you dumb
well, she’d call you a dingus but it always sounded so different when she said it to you compared to when she said it to steve
when she said it to you it came from the depths of her heart, coming out as if it were the greatest of compliments to your personality
when it was said to steve, however, it was because he was dumb and she was teasing him
she rarely teased you, always afraid of upsetting you if she did
though that didn’t mean she didn’t do it from time to time, although it was always a different kind of teasing than what she did with her friends
tickles and peppered kisses. words of affirmation mixed in with giggles and praise about how much she loved you
you were just so cute and she really did adore you
more than anyone in the world

Poor Baby.
Robin Buckley x shy!fem! reader :D
summary!! 🍥 : reader gets hurt on the way to Robins house, Robin being the perfect girlfriend kisses readers boo boos :(
word count ! 0.9k !! (cw!! use of fem gendered petnames , no use of y/n! , slight angst , small mention of blood.)
❛ ━━━━━━━━・❪ ❁ ❫・━━━━━━━━━ ❜
While on the way to your girlfriends house you didn’t expect to see a pair of the most beautiful butterflies ever, you didn’t expect yourself to get lost in their dance or the colors of their wings and you also didn’t expect to trip over your own two feet, pushing off the tingly feeling on the palm of your hands and knees as something not so serious; so when you finally made it to her house and finally got to see your lover after what feels like a millennia you weren’t expecting the smile she wore to slip off immediately after catching your eye is what you thought but it was only when she caught sight of your bloodied knees did she begin to frown , slight worry taking over; though she could tell that there was nothing else to worry about, to the naked eye at least.
“baby what the fuck- what happened?”
Robin didn’t mean for her words to come off as agressive as they may have sounded so when she sees the bright smile that she’d come to love slowly turn into a frown she couldn’t even bring herself to apologize quite yet, allowing herself to take you into her grip, pulling you by your forearm and manhandling you ( which in the occurrence of some ‘different’ more exciting activities would you enjoy it but not in this case); never disrespectful but in a way that can only be described as worrisome, into her family home.
You allow her to drag you up the stairs and into her; confusion taking over your features as you stare after her stern figure as she pushes you gently to sit on her fluffy lemon covered toilet seat, soft hands rested on top of your shoulders as she knelt down so she was able to see your face.
“how’d you cut yourself, pretty girl?” Your face must’ve showed how confused you were as Robin brought a hand down to gently run her finger over your scrapped knees, apologizing quickly after seeing the slight wince on your usually smile stricken face.
“oh!..i didn’t even realize..”
she shakes her head and let’s out an exaggerated sigh, which slightly pulls at your heartstrings; she catches your sullen expression and tries to choose her words carefully, you’d always been a sensitive one (which was always something she loved most about you) and she didn’t want to make you feel as though she was upset with you, deciding that she wanted to get you fixed up before saying anything.
“my poor baby, lets get you cleaned up, yeah? She’d asked but it wasn’t really a question considering how she’d already started wiping away at the slight blood that started escaping the torn skin, dapping at it with a wet wipe softer than she should’ve before placing a pink bandage right over the aching spot on your knees.
There was a pause of silence, robin was only finding the right words to say at a time like this.
“honey.. my love, you should really be more careful when you’re walking alone, i just don’t like seeing your pretty skin all scarred up. I care about you baby, y’know that right? ”
Her intense gaze makes you nervous but you find yourself lost in her, unable to pull your eyes from her being, rosy cheeks with freckles littered over her slightly tanned skin. She was perfect, everything about her from her delicate but wild features to her signature scent to the smallest things you notice about her; like when she scrunches her nose up when she giggles or how she traces shapes on your skin when you lay together or when she lays her head softly onto your chest , because she loves the way your heartbeat feels, loves knowing that you’re there and alive and well.
“Do you understand, love?” She asked softly, as she always did when she was with you, keeping her tone teeth rottenly sweet and her touches even sweeter.
You hadn’t even realized she’d been talking to you before.
“..what?” her shoulders shook as she giggled lightly at your drowsy expression, high off of just her presences alone.
“said I want you to be more careful on your way here , don’t want to see such a pretty thing like you coming here hurt anymore. do you understand?” She brought her hand up from it’s place on your bare thigh to brush her thumb over your cheek, smiling gently, expression so sweet you felt like you’d get cavities.
“okay baby , im sorry n’ I’ll be more careful..” you hadn’t meant to sound as nervous as you did: you knew your lover was only worried about you, but you couldn’t fight off the embarrassed feeling that swam around in the pit of your tummy, your eyes breaking contact and your face warming up slightly.
“hey , hey! what’s that look? im not mad yknow that, i just hate seeing my girl hurt, want you to be in pitch perfect shape when you come over.” Your gaze moving back to hers as you heard the suggestive tone in her voice, giggling as you shook your head slightly.
“you’re crazy..” gentle smile never wavering.
“you love me.” She whispered as your shy but loving fingers made their way up the nape of her neck and into her hair, slightly tugging on the short, growing roots.
“I do..and you love me.” you knew she did, you could feel it.
That i do. She thought.

Crimson and Clover
Robin Buckley x F!Reader
We ignore the date songs come out ✌️
(Also I'm Listening to Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, bc thats the only one i've heard-"
" Ah, now I don't really know her, But I think I could love her, Crimson and Clover "
--------
Y/N was sitting at the small dining table across from Robin. It was only a two-seater, since her city apartment ran on the cheaper side of rent, but Y/N had done her best to make sure it still was a good table. Robin was picking around the food on her plate, and Y/N nervously twitched her fingers as she noticed Robin was actually staring out the window.
"Do you not like it?"
"Huh? No! It's great! I'm just dreading driving back home through the traffic."
Robin said, grabbing Y/N's hand that wasn't hold a fork and grasping her fingers assuringly. Robin scrunched her nose as she mentioned traffic and Y/N gazed back outside. Traffic. If only Robin saw what it was like on a bad day, but Y/N understood, since Robin hadn't really gone anywhere but Hawkins. The only reason she got a license was so she could drive out two towns over to the city to visit. Y/N inhaled sharply through her nose, and Robin turned her attention back to Y/N as she spoke.
"You could just stay. The night, you know?"
"Really?" Robin whispered giddily, her smile child-like. Her shoulders raised closer to her head in excitement as she squealed, and Y/N giggled. Y/N jumped lightly when Robin gasped, clasping Y/N's single hand with both of hers, her fork clattering to her plate.
"Can we sleep in the same bed?" She asked excitedly. Y/N bust into laughter, and Robin gave her a lopsided grin.
"I really don't think my bed is big enough for both of us."
"What do you mean?"
She pouted, and Y/N was quick to remind her they both (A) slept restless, (B) woke up in literally the weirdest positions, and (C)-
"Alright, alright. I can sleep on the couch."
Robin pouted again, staring at the little sofa across from the TV. Y/N squeezed Robin's hands, and the brunette turned her head back to Y/N.
"It has a pull-out bed. Maybe we can both sleep on there?"
"But you have an actual bed, and it's your house- well, apartment- so I don't want you to have to sleep on a shitty pull-out just because-"
"Robin, you're my girlfriend. I'll die on that stupid couch bed."
Robin grinned, picking her plate up with one hand and rather accidentally forcing Y/N too grab her own quickly, since Robin was dragging her along to the kitchen sink. Robin rinsed her plate, sat it in the sink, then took Y/N's, doing the same. She glanced at the clock, glad to see it was digital, and back to Y/N as she turned.
"Well, it's only seven. What do you wanna do?"
"We can play some music. Quietly."
"Sounds good. Slow dance an' romance."
Robin said, pronouncing her "o" sounds dramatically, making Y/N giggle. Y/N popped the record into the player, messing with the volume slightly so it didn't wake her neighbors baby. Robin scooted the coffee table out of the way and pulled Y/N into the center of the room, pressing their bodies together and smiling even more when Y/N locked her arms around Robin's neck. Robin was full-on staring at Y/N's face, but mostly at her eyes. Y/N's eyes gave Robin a rush similar to that of sneakily stealing a tulip from a mean old mans garden. Y/N laughed quietly, pressing their foreheads together. The H/C girl immediantly pulled away, and moved some of the strands of hair from Robin's and her oan forehead, pressing them back together. That made Robin laugh again, giving Y/N's torso a squeeze.
"Why'd you do that?"
"Your hair is sticking to your forehead."
"It's hot in here!"
"No it isn't-"
"It is when you're dancing with a super hot girl!"
Y/N flushed, laughing. She pulled away, pecking Robin's lips. Robin made a tsking noise, cupping Y/N's cheeks and pulling her back in. It was a sweet kiss, the music from the record really making the room softer. Robin smiled into the kiss, and soon the pair split. Y/N fixed Robin's hair over her forehead again (because the way Y/N had her bangs pushed up reminded her of a porcupine), and turned the record off.
"Alright, Robin. Let's get the couch set up."
"Aw, just a little longer?"
"I have work in the morning, baby, I have to be in bed by eight or nine."
Robin groaned dramatically, but helped Y/N set up the couch, pulling the cushions off and yanking the fold out bed a littke to roughly, making it clatter onto the floor like someone dropped a bag of forks onto concrete. Robin stood there with her hands over her mouth, eyes wide as a baby started crying next door. Y/N snorted, and Robin cracked, face-planting (regrettably) onto the bed. Y/N threw some pillows at her, hitting her in the head, and then some blankets.
"Can we turn on a movie while we sleep?"
"Yep. My tapes are over there."
"Awesome."
Robin dug through the box, pulling out her favorite movie and putting it in Y/N's player. Y/N had fixed the bed up, and Robin took off her pants, sliding into bed. Y/N offered her a nightgown, since she was changing, but Robin waved her off. Y/N rolled her eyes, fixing her nightgown and sliding into the pull-out bed next to Robin.
They cuddled up, legs tangled as they laid in a somewhat odd position, halfway facing eachother and halfway on their backs, but it was comfortable, so nobody was complaining. A few hours later, Robin kissed Y/N's forehead, curling into her girlfriend and almost immediantly passing out. Y/N laughed quietly, turning the TV off and petting Robin's hair. She kissed Robin's scalp, getting comfortable next to her.
"I love you, Robin. I'll see you in the morning."
The words gave Y/N a little jump, since the three words hadn't been uttered in the relationship yet. Through her slowly taking over sleepiness, she felt Robin shift her arms around her, pulling her impossibly closer.
"I love you too."
