Lady Stoneheart: Okay. I get it. You've had a really hard time lately, you're stressed out, seven people died-
Brienne: Twelve, actually.
Lady Stoneheart: Not the point. Look, they're dead now and really whose fault is that?
Brienne: Yours!
Lady Stoneheart: That's right: no one's.

Angel mending a broken heart oil painting.
.
.
.
I had my heart broken so many times by giving it away to the wrong people.
I was too naive and not sure how to handle heartbreaks.
As time passes by, I survived and my heart gets sturdier every time it heals.
An Angel came along mended it and made it unbreakable.

Sometimes, I think of that quote from D&D as to why Stoneheart wasn't on the show (this is just one of the reasons they gave):
“Catelyn’s last moment was so fantastic, and Michelle is such a great actress, to bring her back as a zombie who doesn’t speak felt like diminishing returns,”
And I get incredibly mad again. How disrespectful can you be to the source material to say that Lady Stoneheart, who had the best re-introduction to the story ever in the epilogue, was a "diminishing returns" ?
Also, Michelle Fairley is an actress, she is acting, sometimes the best acting doesn't require speaking, anyone who watches anything can tell you that.
I really do have to wonder, Did they actually read the epilogue and feast ? Because:"her eyes saw him and they hated" would have been another moment of good acting from her and she wouldn't have to say anything.
Plus,if the problem was the zombie part for them, the solution would be to make her less zombie-like with the make-up department (like they did for Jon who do not look as bad as he should after his resurrection) ? I would still be disappointed (because the horror that is Lady Stoneheart is part of the fun) but... at least she would be there.
Finally ,just because an actor acts brilliantly in one scene, continuing acting said role doesn't diminish that moment ? What kind of logic is that ?

Another line from our book. This is one that I have always simply loved. I love it for its hint of sadness and longing. I love it for its loneliness. I love it because he's her bountyhunter.

Realistically it's more helpful to use material written by George Martin to theorize about what's going to happen in his books, rather than books written by other people.
So where is the evidence that Gendry is prejudiced against wargs? He doesn't even know what they are. The only times Gendry has to deal with this side of Arya he seems to accept what she says to him without any problems or particular judgments:
She must have slept, though she never remembered closing her eyes. She dreamed a wolf was howling, and the sound was so terrible that it woke her at once. Arya sat up on her pallet with her heart thumping. "Hot Pie, wake up." She scrambled to her feet. "Woth, Gendry, didn't you hear?" She pulled on a boot. All around her, men and boys stirred and crawled from their pallets. "What's wrong?" Hot Pie asked. "Hear what?" Gendry wanted to know. "Arry had a bad dream," someone else said.
.
"You stay here with the horses," Arya said. "I'll get rid of him. Come quick when I call." Gendry knotted. Hot Pie said, "Hoot like an owl when you want us to come." "I'm not an owl," Arya said. "I'm a wolf. I'll howl”. […] When he stopped moving, she picked up the coin. Outside the walls of Harrenhal, a wolf howled long and loud. She lifted the bar, set it aside , and pulled open the heavy oak door. By the time Hot Pie and Gendry came up with the horses, the rain was falling hard. "You killed him!" Hot Pie gasped.
If there's one character in Arya's story who isn't obsessed with the supernatural, it's this guy. For example, he has already met the ghost of High Heart and had no particular reaction. When he witnessed the resurrection of Lord Beric, he merely acknowledged that the Red god probably exists and decided to join the Brotherhood. When Lady Stoneheart was resurrected the Brotherhood split but he decided to stay. Why would wargs be so inconceivable to a person who has seen a witch prophesy and two people resurrect before his eyes? If Gendry is prejudiced against the Old gods or magic he has never shown it.
Tumblr media
First they are not her ancestors they are the Boltons' men, Robb's men, and Hoster Tully's men. These last two are the people Arya asks him to smith for. He has the right to have an opinion on them after the injustices he has seen them commit. However, he just watches her to see how she reacts to the news that her side is not has good as she tought.
Arya begins her journey in the Riverlands still convinced that "wolves don't eat babies" (to metaphorically quote her own words). Arya is wrong and it's a lesson she learns gradually. The very first step is when Mycah is killed and she realizes that her father's men don't give a damn about this injustice. But then along comes the Boltons, Robb's men, and Hoster's men… Post-Riverlands Arya no longer believes that “wolves don't eat babies”. Now she is a more mature and aware person.
Tumblr media
Gendry remains with the Brotherhood even when their original mission is shelved because of Lady Stoneheart. Why? Because he doesn't have nowhere else to go? Yes. Because he is furious that the Freys killed an innocent girl, who was his friend? Probably.
But last we see him in AFFC he's not killing innocent Freys, he's protecting an orphanage. And I think it's interesting to note that when he had just met Arya he didn't care at all about protecting the children, in fact he was willing to abandon them to have a better chance of surviving. Wow character development.
Speaking of Brienne: the reader knows she is innocent. For the characters Brienne is the kingslayer's whore who goes around looking for the Stark girls with a Lannister red sword.
Tumblr media
I wait for evidences that Gendry doesn't accept Arya as she is. But only if they come from ASOIAF books. And no, the fact that Gendry thinks highborns unfairly exploit lowborns isn't proof, because Arya totally agrees with him. Simply he knew it 'already 'cause he's lived in poverty all his life, but Arya has only recently experienced this so she need some time to process what is her role as a lady in this.
I don't know what 'meat boy' means.

I want receipts proving that Jon Snow will basically become another version of Lady Stoneheart. Pages, chapters, specific quotes, anything. Basically I want one good reason why George would randomly wake up one day and think: "oh, I did the miserable vengeful zombie thingy once for Cat and it was great so let's repeat the exact same fucking thing with Jon, one of my five key players!! How radical and groundbreaking and not at all repetitive and nonsensical would that be? That's SO based bro, especially like, Lady Stoneheart is you know, a Lady, duh, so a female zombie witch-y figure and that's SO not catchy anymore so we NEEEEED to have the exact male equivalent of that and especially the exact male that Lady more or less abused when she was alive cause that would be real hashtag feminism yah".
Is this another "Rhaegar gets a boner everytime the name Visenya is mentioned" kind of take? What is this?
This is on par with the take that Bran will have to execute Jon for leaving the Wall cause.... he witnessed his father executing a random dude, once. And that's apparently a reason good enough for Bran of all people to become a Kinslayer, the biggest taboo in Westeros. Yeah, I didn't think I'll live to see a take worse than this but the Lady Stoneheart one is truly up for the challenge.
Yeah delusion is not specific to Jonsas btw.

Sole Crusher Redesign and Why her original design doesn’t Work:
Okay, first I just want to say this has nothing against Zoé or her character, I think she deserves better akuma than she got in the canon. Also, I know I have criticized her in the past but that doesn’t change how much I love this character and am glad she was made. So happy late anniversary Zoé, you truly are my canon sapphic punk baby and I love you for that, keep it up!
Tumblr media
The problems I have with her:
Anyway, I never gave my honest opinion about Sole Crusher, so here it is…. I hate it. Not because it looks bad, it's because it doesn’t feel like Zoé at all. Akumas should reflect the person that getting an akumatized like Reserver, Horrificator, Dark Cupid, Gamer, Refleka, Evilustrator, Stoneheart, I can go on and on with the many akuma designs we had that can look like and feel the civilian but not Sole Crusher. She doesn’t feel like Zoé or even look like her, she feels like Chloé’s many Akuma forms, and the fact she gets a design that is just sole crusher but better is pretty sad. And another thing, Sole Crusher doesn’t have that much personality to be honest like Akumas does. Like looking at the wiki picture, her paragraph about her personality is so short compared to Reserver’s. So yeah, she doesn’t have any similarities that would have made someone think that truly is Zoé but also she is pretty boring in terms of personality as well.
… so why not fix that.
The changes to her design:
First, let’s start with the design if you could tell already. I would use her concept design just not the weird thing on her forehead since that looks off to me, the ponytail, and her not having Chloé’s face of course. Also, she would have Zoé’s face because it is a very important thing, but have a mask that looks like Chloé like one that Obsidian from Steven Universe has and it can connect to her backstory since people didn’t like her because she was a liar to them. It's like she is two-faced in a way. Also, she would have two horns to reference her canon design. Also, she would have sharp teeth and clawed hands because they’re cool. And here are some pictures to get a better understanding of what she could look like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah that is for her design, let’s go to her personality.
Her personality and motivations:
I would imagine her to be a lot more aggressive and angry at her family and I mean all of them. Yeah, including André since he is the one to give her the advice of hiding your true self for your family that doesn’t like your true self at all which makes her feel ashamed. Yeah, there's no way I’m dropping that any time soon. But anyway, like I say she is emotionally unstable since Zoé had to bottle up her emotions and not express them at all around others, especially Audrey for so long. So sole crusher is all that pit up of emotions she has that are now exploded and is coming for everyone she is angry with including her sister. I know Chloé was just probably being nice in her own way but she still lowkey tried to change Zoé into being another version of her. So yeah, whenever Chloé escapes from her, the more she gets pissed. But being emotional doesn’t just connect to anger, it also connects to others including happiness and sadness as well. So she is an unstable ball of emotions that we should be scared of especially when she is mad. Also, she acts very cocky and wants everyone to see that since she didn’t have any confidence in herself as Zoé. Also, her motive at first is to become a better Chloé since she doesn’t believe she can’t be anything else but when Cosette told her she doesn’t have to be a better Chloé and just be her person from her life, she took that to heart a bit too much to the point where her new motive was to get all things that the Bougerios had so she can distance herself from it and people wouldn’t think her just like them. So yeah, she is very impulsive.
Here are some notes I wanted to add before I do some quotes:
The more people she absorbed into her shoes, not only she gets stronger and bigger but also the more invulnerable she gets as well. The things that are always vulnerable are her heeled boots and her mask. Her mask is just a cover-up of her true self and can crack by her becoming more open about her feelings or by someone breaking it.
Her clawed hands can cut through anything and get stronger every time she absorbs someone.
She is also very overprotective of things she cares about (like Cosette for example)
The first people she absorbs are André and Audrey.
And finally, her eyes can glow when she like super mad.
Now here are some quotes! Also using here @artzychic27 ‘s ocs:
Chloé: *Looks at herself in the mirror with the golden short dress, making a bunch of poses* Mom will surely be more impressed by this than anything that my half-sister is going to wear! Hehehe! *Picks up a very expensive perfume and starts spraying herself with it*
Sole Crusher: Wow and I thought Mom’s perfume was worse.
Chloé: WHAT THE?! *Drops the perfume and turns to see a giant sole crusher, whose arms are resting on the balcony*
Sole Crusher: Heeeeey Chloé, you know earlier you say I need to sit dominant and fear my enemies?
Chloé: *shaking her head forward* 😰
Sole Crusher: Well I thought about it and you were right. *in a menacing tone* So is it working, little sister?
Chloé: So what are you going to do to me?
Sole Crusher: Easy, crush you and become the better you since people just expect me to.
Chloé: Oh please, you become a better me is something that can’t ever happen since I’m already so beautiful! *sole crusher rolls her eyes* You’re ridiculous! Utterly-
Sole Crusher: SHUT UP CHLOÉ!!!
Chloé: *immediately shutting up in fear*
Sole Crusher: Ugh whatever, now say goodbye little sister. *Goes to grab her but Chloé runs out of her room before she got the chance and ends up grabbing the dresser instead*
Sole Crusher: What the fuck?! *pulls out the dresser and stares at it with an annoyed expression before crushing it in her bare hands* …Grrrrrrr…GET BACK HERE CHLOÉ!! *sees Chloé running out of the hotel*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cosette: *getting some decorations ready for the concert happening on the houseboat* I think that's all we need for the concert, right Sonic?
Sonic CottonBalls: *looks up and then grunts* ‘No your good and all ready to go’
Cosette: Well I’ll better get ready to go to the-
Chloé: *suddenly opens Cosette’s door then shuts it and puts Cosette’s stuff in front of it* Whew….. What do you want?!?
Cosette: What do I want?! You came in here!! In my house! By the way, how did you know where I live exactly?
Chloé: It doesn’t matter!! I’m trying to hide from half-of-sister of mine anyway!!
Cosette: Zoé?.. What did you do this time?
Chloé: I didn't do anything, she was just stupidly oversensitive that's all!! Besides, I don’t get why people get sad or mad over the stupidest things any way I don't do anything wrong ever!
Cosette: *both it and Sonic look at each other with disbelief look on their face then look back to Chloé in a sarcastic tone* Oh sure, you don't do anything wrong at all ever! You're just misunderstood and people just don’t get that at all!
Chloé: Finally you get it!
Cosette: … You know what, forget.
Sole Crusher: *Opens the roof with an angry look on her face* CHLOOOÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉ!!!
Cosette: *with a startled and worried expression* ‘Okay, either made her outraged or the Akuma must be amplifying those feelings. Either way, Chloé fucking screw.’
Chloé: Eeeeee! *as Sole Crusher goes to grab her, Chloé grabs Cosette and pulls it in front of her, and runs out of the room*
Cosette: CHLOÉ YOU MAJOR… JERK!
Sonic CottonBalls: *Hisses* ‘MOTHER NOOOOOOOO!!!’
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sole Crusher: *holding Cosette like a little doll and seeing Chloé running away* Grrrrrr, when I find her, I’m going to destroy her!!! I hate her so much!!
Cosette: Agree, we’ll hating her part at least. But Zoé, what happened?
Sole Crusher: …
Cosette: Zoé?
Sole Crusher: *brings Cosette up to her face* Sorry the girl, named Zoé isn’t here anymore but you called me, Sole Crusher from now on. That doesn't matter right now, what matters is that I crush Chloé now, and then I’ll tell you. But for now, you're coming with me, don’t want someone as adorable as you to miss all the fun, now do we? *closes the roof and gets up* Now let’s go find that bossy bitch.
Cosette: … *blushes like crazy* ‘What just happened?!’
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ismael: *sees Chloé running from an Akuma* Meh, what else is new? *Sees the Akuma kidnapping Cosette* …The things I get myself into… I'M COMING COSETTE! *rides his bike right after them and texts Reshma what happening*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cosette: *with big puppy dog eyes* Pretty please, can you not destroy the city just for some brat?
Sole Crusher: *with surprise blush face* ‘DANG IT, THEY'RE SO CUTE!’ *clears throat* No and stop staring at me with those big ol’ eyes!
Cosette: …. *stops doing the puppy dog eyes*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ladybug: Can you at least put the civilian down?
Sole Crusher: *holding Cosette like squeaky toy* No.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chloé: If you really want to better me then crush everyone here! Then you’ll prove to everyone that you are me completely!!
Cosette: Okay first of all, Chloé shut up. And second, Zoé you don’t have to do this!
Sole Crusher: ..What?
Cosette: You don’t have to be like Chloé so you can be safe from being bullied or ridiculed for just being yourself, but trust me, these people won’t judge you if you give them the chance to get to know the real you.
Sole Crusher: And how do you know?!?
Cosette: Because I know how it feels to be yourself will never get you anywhere and how you need to change yourself just so you can fit it. But I was proven wrong by meeting these people here! *points to the science kids*
Aurore: Awww thank you!
Cosette: Point is, no one here is going to judge you and make fun of you for being yourself. We’ll accept you for who you are, even if you made mistakes and errors along the way, but no one wouldn’t get mad at you for it and we’ll be here to help you and pick you right back up again if you want. I’ll be there to help you, no matter what! Because you’re very important to me!
Sole Crusher: *her mask starts to crack and she starts tearing up* You promise?
Cosette: *gives a gentle smile* I promise.
Chloé: Oh please, the freak just wants to stop a monster like you from destroying everything in her path. You’ll never truly be able to change, you'll always be Bougerios no matter what!
Sole Crusher: *goes back to being angry again* … ‘I’m going to kill her.’
Cosette: *with an annoyed face* ‘Dammit Chloé.’
Lacey: Now you see why, I wanted to get rid of her?
Marc: Yeah, I was wrong to spare her.
Reshma: She is the stupidest person alive.
Simon: Which isn’t surprising since both of her parents are really stupid.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chat Noir: *Hits her with his staff hard enough to destroy a part of her mask* I got her milady!
Ladybug: *with a scared expression* Um, chat?
Chat Noir: Hm? *Turns to see Sole Crusher with glowing blue eyes and pissed off expression* … Oh shit.
Forgiveness is a big theme that is introduced in his ASoS arc, his second chapter even, and then is further addressed during his retreading of his journey in AFfC. I think it is a theme that will become very significant for him come Winds/Dream. Stoneheart is gonna be huge in this regard I assume, and will lead to an interesting pivot.
Here are George’s comments about Jaime from different interviews:
“Your books have a very strong storyline associated with the atonement of sins. For example, the way of Jaime Lannister, do you yourself believe in karma?”
I don’t believe in karma per se, although sometimes I have my doubts because sometimes I think I see things that could be explained by karma. [Laughs.] But no, I don’t really have any beliefs in the supernatural. I do believe in the possibility of redemption
“If you have real characters grappling with real problems, then you have power... Jaime losing a hand, the very thing that he defined himself on, is crucial to where I want go with the character. He questions: "What do you make of yourself once you lost that?"
“…And I think it should be the reverse. We should remember the good things and the noble things that people did, and forgive them for their failures and moments of selfishness or wrongdoing because we all have them. When we forgive them we are essentially forgiving ourselves. Redemption should be possible.”
“I don't know the answer, but these are questions worth thinking about. I want there to be a possibility of redemption for us, because we all do terrible things. We should be able to be forgiven. Because if there is no possibility of redemption, what's the answer then?”
full quotes and links
Jaime’s relationship with death is interesting. I do not think he fears it as per his behavior and his comments about it. I would not call it posturing this time because his actions do reinforce his statements repeatedly. Even in AFfC:
“Free me from my vow to Lady Catelyn and I will meet you sword to sword. If I win, Riverrun is ours. If you slay me, we'll lift the siege.”
"Much as I would welcome the chance to take that golden sword away from you and cut out your black heart, your promises are worthless. I would gain nothing from your death but the pleasure of killing you, and I will not risk my own life for that ... as small a risk as that may be." It was a good thing that Jaime wore no sword; elsewise he would have ripped his blade out, and if Ser Brynden did not slay him, the archers on the walls most surely would.
What he does fear is something different. Imo it begins with honesty. As revealed by his weirwood dream, I think he primarily fears damnation. He is honest in that dream. But confrontation could mean the disappearance of possibility/purpose/meaning/life. The terror of the flames dying out. But truth is unavoidable. Confrontation is gonna be unavoidable. “The White Book would be waiting when this vigil was done, his page open in dumb reproach. I'll hack the bloody book to pieces before I'll fill it full of lies. Yet if he would not lie, what could he write but truth?” Despite repeating that he is sick of lies, Jaime often distances himself from truth, goes away inside, and hides from things he is aware of deep down etc. He also fears revealing his true self, because it is easier to face damnation when it is a persona that does so. Confronting his real self, as well as his real sins, that is a different story. I think he fears that he will get the death of the flames in place of forgiveness. And if that is the case then change is not possible anymore. There is a reason that he uses an executioner as a confessional in feast. The double meaning when it comes to much of the training he does is not all that subtle. It is interesting when he chooses to switch to real swords, and what he does and what he says. There is certainly an investigation of punitive justice, repentance, the possibility of redemption etc. He does want an answer, but what if life is not that simple?
I agree a lot with the anon talking about Dany and Viserys' death. I've always seen it as Dany's equivalent to Littlefinger's show trial (as a relative and abuser brought to a painful and unexpected end by someone else on their behalf), and she was decidedly less involved in it than Sansa. A good foreshadowing example instead is her reaction when Drogo talks about invading Westeros.
Still, I've also always felt that there's an indication for Dany's ending in there as well, though not how D&D intended.
They spent several seasons playing with the idea of Dark Sansa, but Littlefinger's execution is the absolute darkest she ever got. That's where her darkness ends; meanwhile, Dany's story started with it, and she just kept/will keep going down from there. The standards for Dany's MOs were never the same as the other main characters' (save Tyrion), which shows well how villainous she was meant to become when put side by side to the heroic characters.
wait because i JUST saw a tweet (one of my rhaenicent friends quote-tweeted to make fun lol) where someone was like "oh when dany tries to reclaim her seat it's all 'she must pay for the crimes of her family' but when the starks do it it's fine" and my friend was like "okay now talk about the crimes dany herself has committed!!" so i was just thinking about this lol.
because yeah like, a lot of the problem here is that so far as we are into the series, the only comparable crime any stark has committed to dany specifically was bran warging hodor and i dare say we are going to dig into the evil of that in his next chapters, the same way george took like, an entire book to delve into the moral and ethical ramifications of trying to rule over a city you just sacked in adwd. a lot of arya's kills are pretty cut and dry self defense with the exception of daeron the singer (icr how he spells his name it might not be that valyrian spelling), and she almost immediately loses her eyesight for that one, so it's sort of like, well, arya and bran are clearly on their way to Face Some Consequences, but their moral failings are also on a much more interpersonal level here than anything going on in dany's story (because.....that's the point imo, that dany affects so much without really thinking through what she's affecting; she is not the only character being used to make this point tho, just imo one of hte more prominent).
and beyond that, show wise, like you said, the most evil sansa gets is *checks notes* murdering the two men who have been regularly abusing her for years in a way that you could say was kinda overkill. is it great when you come at it from a political standpoint? no, it's not like, fantastic. and even though it is. just the dumbest shit especially because there are once again no repercussions for it, i DO very much dislike that arya was the one that did the Red Wedding 2.0/Rat Cook thing that Lady Stoneheart/Manderly are actually in charge for (which like, listen I love Manderly so so much but obviously murdering a couple of dudes and baking them into pies to feed to their family is not like, um, great from a moral or political standpoint). so while you could definitely argue that show arya is morally bankrupt on a similar level as dany - and you can do the same for jon snow too, because that absolute idiot just hands over the north to a lady he knows is a little fire and blood happy for what reason exactly?? - you can't argue sansa is, like point blank, or bran.
and ultimately, like, idc about the show lol when i'm discussing their actions i'm talking about the books and imo while everyone's story plays with morality and ethics and politics etc etc there are some characters who are pretty clearly sliding down morality wise early on - as you say, tyrion's mo is pretty regularly threatening to rape people, and then dany spends the last few chapters of her first book trying to rationalize war time slavery and rape, and then murders her slave to hatch some dragons. jaime throws a literal child out a window. cersei helps murder a bunch of other kids, gives innocent women over to be tortured to death, and doesn't even attempt to curb the abuses of sansa. and then you have sansa, who may or may not be knowingly poisoning sweetrobin - it's unclear but seems likely she just doesn't understand how dangerous the substances she's feeding sweetrobin are - and arya who commits a few murders in self defense, then kills one or two dudes in cold blood and faces immediate consequences. bran who is in the middle of an unresolved story arc where he's mind raping someone. arianne and asha both attempt to gain power and while there are some victims they're both taking pains to limit the amount of victims, and carry a lot of guilt for the damage they've done and are trying to atone for it, in their own ways. it's like...........idk feels like a slightly marked difference between some of these characters here. it's why i can't discount a bad ending for bran - obviously i want a happier ending for him, and i think it's foreshadowed to be likely but i'm not stupid, mind raping hodor is probably one of the worst things someone has done, morally, in this series on page, and I do think he's going to grapple with this substantially, in the same way that Dany will one day have to face the truth that she murdered MMD and Drogon harmed the little girl hazzea, and those deaths - and the deaths in Astapor, Meereen, and Yunkai - are something she needs to take into account as her war effort chugs along.
Mme. Bustier: *Gesturing to graffiti on the front door that reads, School is Dumb* ‘School is Dumb’?! ‘School is Dumb’?!
Cosette: Yeah! School is dumb! School is-! *Sees the graffiti* Oh.
Aurore: And maybe when Lila trapped us, she was, depressed.
Lacey: Yeah? Well, I was bummed when I didn’t get asked to homecoming! But did I lure the cast of Full House into my basement and torture Uncle Jesse?
Austin A: *Sniffs the air* Ew. What’s that smell?
Marinette: It’s my new perfume.
Austin A: Oh. Is it called, Le Poop?
Lila: You will never besmirch the name of my chicken! You apologize to Febritzio right now!
Ismael: Ah shove it, Lila!
Lila: I will not shove it. But I will give Nathaniel the spins! *Presses the button, and the wheel spins again*
Nathaniel: Oh, no. I'm moving again! Why is it turning? What's happeniiiinnnnngggg?! Aah!
Marc: Just apologize to the chicken!!!
Nathaniel: I'm so very dizzy!
Ismael: Fine! *To Febritzio* I'm sorry I b'smeared your name by calling you stupid... And that I've eaten many of your relatives.
Lacey: Oh my God! What is Terry doing here?! Jean, what did you do?!
*The Miraculous Kids break down the doors to the school and brandish their weapons*
Lapin (Aurore): Finally! We got that thing open!
Alya: You? Where are the other heroes?
King Cobra (Ismael): We killed them, ripped their Miraculous off their bodies, and ate their livers.
Everyone: 😮
King Cobra: Gotcha, didn’t I?
Bronco (Simon): We’re just messing. The other heroes are fine, just incapacitated.
Cosette: *After the Austins leave* Those were the rudest people I have ever had to be polite to!
Aurore: Apparently, we’re the Diddley-Bops!
Ismael: And we’re here to sing you a special song!
Jean: All about your favorite foods!
Chris: Sing about dinosaurs!
Marc: *Cheerfully* Noooo!
Lacey: Hiiiiiiiiiiiii.
Marc: Well, howdy there, idiot farm girl.
Lacey: I brought your squirrel some peanuts. *She holds up a bag of peanuts*
Marc: Uh, squirrel?
Lacey: Uh-huh. That squirrel. *Points to his fake mustache*
Marc: Now, now there, little sugar munch. These here whisker on our face ain't nary no squirrel. These here's a mushystash.
Lacey: Here you go, little squirrel! *She shoves some peanuts in his faces*
Marc: Hey! Hey now! Quit shovin' yer penuttes into my mustach! Ya dumb veggie burger!
Ismael: Hiiii!
Lacey: Looky! That's my brother, Clem!
Marc: Nice to meetcha there, Clem.
Ismael: Ahhh!! Squirrel!!! *He slingshots his mustaches*
Marc: Ouches! Ya slang-sheeted my mustache!!’ *Ismael slingshots him again* Ow! Where's your respect for cowboys?!
And now for a bunch of Ghostbusters quotes
Marc: Get out of my friend, Akuma! *He slaps Jean, forcing the Akuma out of him*
Jean: Ow! That's gonna leave a mark!
Marc: The power of Anciel compels you! *Slaps him again*
Jean: Ow!
*Marc keeps slapping him*
Denise: Ma-Marc! The Akuma left.
Marc: Oh, seriously? Is that you, Jean?
Leonardo (Denise): Oh Lord, have mercy! *Stoneheart steps on the Miraculous Kids* This is just wrong!
Rooster Bold: I can't move my hand! I can't reach my knife!
Wyvern (Cosette): You guys, this is exactly how I pictured my death!
Hamlet (Jean): Come on!
Cosette: *She turns tv off* Well, it's official. We're all ‘The Animal Kids’ now.
Marc: All right, I would like to remind everybody here that in a very short amount of time, we have seen multiple Class 4 Akumas.
Aurore: Yeah. We did. Who cares what anybody else is saying about us? We know what we're doing. I mean, all morning, I've been reading about this stuff. There's sightings all over the city. *Reads newspaper* "Parrot spirit sighted at 6th and 26th."
Ismael: Another one, *Reads paper* "Spectral polar bear on 63rd and 5th." Then there was that weeping wall in the thrift store at Chelsea.
Zoé: ... Did you say 6th and 26th?
Aurore: Yeah. "Parrot spirit, 6th and 26th."
Zoé: *She gets out a map of New York, and starts marking locations* 6th and 26th. Okay. 6th and 26th. Um, Northwest Mansion. Um, Upper West Side. 70... 72nd. Um, where did we find the first device?
Denise: Uh, at the subway, right here. *Points to the map*
Zoé: Okay. Theater. Downtown.
Lacey: Downtown?
Zoé: Yeah, yes. In here. Okay, Ismael, what was the other address you said?
Ismael: Polar bear on 63rd and 5th Avenue.
Zoé: And the one in Chelsea?
Ismael: Uh... Chelsea is at 10th Avenue and 18th.
Zoé: 18th. 10th and 18th. Uh. *She connects the marks together, and they form an X* What do those look like to you?
Reshma: *Tilts her head* Just an X.
Aurore: … Ley lines. Ley lines!
Mireille: What's "ley lines"?
Aurore: It's a hidden network of energy lines that run across the Earth. It's a current of energy caused by when the Miraculous merged with our world.
Marc: Supposedly, if you look at sacred sites and weird events all over the world, and connect them with lines where they intersect, it's an unusually powerful spot. Aurore and I just dismissed this theory because it just seemed too random to have any merit.
Ismael: Dismiss this! *He compares the map to one in a book with the exact same markings*
Marc: Okay. That looks like it's got some merit...
Simon: ... They’re using the devices to charge the ley lines... They’re creating a vortex!
Denise: I’m sorry, what?
Jean: Oh, boy.
Simon: Okay, if this person gets one of their machines in there and it's big enough, they’re gonna be able to rip a hole right through that barrier!
Mireille: Letting whatever's on that plane come crashing down on this plane.
Ismael: Okay, I'm calling this in. *He pulls out his phone*
Cosette: That intersection right there between 7th and 8th. What is there now?
Zoé: The Mercado. That actually makes sense.
Ismael: *Speaking with someone* Okay, yes, I'm looking for Majestia and Knight Owl
Zoé: The Mercado has one of the weirdest histories of the buildings in New York.
Simon: Okay, so it's your standard-issue haunted building?
Zoé: No, this is even before it was a building. All sorts of massacres happened at that spot. Like the peaceful trade between the Lenape Native Americans and Captain Warren. Then, all of a sudden, everybody dies. Roberts Stals, the pianist from the twenties? Did a show right in that spot and a stage light fell right on top of him. Few years after that, a restaurant opened up. Everyone got food poisoning, died of typhoid flu, and there was a kitchen fire that burned the whole place down.
Coraline: *Sees the picture of the Mercado staff and notices Gabriel* Oh, my God, you guys. This is the dude that was at the subway, that was talking about the cataclysms!
Lacey: That is him! Oh, it's always the sad, pale ones!
Marc: Okay, people, let's gear up and hit that Mercado!
Zoé: Who's in the mood to save New York City?!
Roger: These children are criminals, mayor! They use sense and nerve gasses to make people believe they’re seeing monsters, and then conveniently show up dressed as brightly colored animals to deal with the problem with the fake theatrical light show!
Simon: Everything was fine with our system until the power grid was shut off by dickless here.
Roger: They caused an explosion!
Mayor: Is this true?
Simon: … Yes. It’s true… This man has no dick.
this quote i saw from translondo here on tumblr that burrowed into my marrow, about a black sails ship: "Silvermadi is sweet and they deserve to be happy together, they’re supportive and gentle and good, happy silvermadi ending is the best outcome…but Silver and Madi were both in love with someone who didn’t really exist and their value systems are not properly aligned and Silver’s betrayal was so deeply opposed to Madi’s central beliefs that they can’t properly reconcile and even if they did it would be sad and never quite right and take years"
Timeskip---reports of BWB movements, of the wolfpack, of Blackfish and Addam, the fall of KL, the flight of Cers with Euron, Dragons and wights
FIN--- They pass each other at Harrenhal, and we hope for them again.
Reading your fears about Jon and aunty + those quotes from GRRM about broad strokes + his recent post about how much is changing as he’s writing, I wonder if way back when he talked to D&D about the ending he did plan for an Ygritte 2.0 situation except Jon doesn’t actually fall in love with aunty, he’s just coerced into a relationship with her even though he’s in love with Sansa. s7-8 could be interpreted that way. But as GRRM has been writing, the story has evolved so while D&D were true to what GRRM told them, explaining GRRM’s statements about GoT being a “faithful” adaption, what he will actually do has diverged from how he thought things would go back then. Or do you think he is trying to be gracious when he talks about how closely they stuck to his story and we shouldn’t take that seriously?
I think GRRM knows his ending and his ending has to do with the major characters and the major plots. The other thousands of characters and plots are the deviations that George is talking about lately.
George also said that he will never be influenced by the Show, or fan theories or fan reactions. He also said something like: you will never please everyone, so at least I will please myself with my Books ending. In other words, he doesn't give a fuck about his readers liking or hating his ending, he will do whatever he wants.
I don't know how much he told D&D about his books ending, how detailed he was about the main characters, more than the broad strokes that can be: Bran is king at the end and aunty dies (in that final result, the Show was certainly "faithful"). Those are final positions that can be the same in Show and Books, but how those positions are reached is what will be different or even very different.
From what George and D&D said over the years, we know that: i) D&D knew that aunty was going to die, because they planned the scene of her death in the midst of GOT Season 3; and, ii) D&D knew that Bran was going to be king from their famous Santa Fe meeting with GRRM in 2013.
Now, to reach those endings D&D had the freedom to do anything (even including aliens and vampires), and with no source material, they deviated a lot (sadly with no aliens or vampires).
For example, the so called ice and fire romance. Jon doesn't need to have a romance with aunty to end up killing her, they can be enemies from the start. George said that boy meet girl, they hate each other at first but then fall for each other, is too predictable and boring and he hates stories like that. But despite that D&D did precisely that boring thing that George hates.
I think those big deviations were a source of conflict between GRRM and D&D (No Stoneheart, Sansa & Jeyne Poole switched arcs, etc), so much that George decided to step aside and stoped writing an episode per season as it was established in his contract.
George never said something negative directly to D&D, he even kinda praised them (what he said about GOT being faithful to his Books), but he also throws shades here and there. For example, he also said he hates stories where the focus is on action sequences and CGI, because the heart of the story is the human heart in conflict with itself, the core of the story must the the characters and not the CGI.
And the last shade I think it was the last paragraph of his latest interview:
Martin: There’s a lot of opportunity for expansion. That’s what we’ll find a lot of in the series. [What] Ryan and his team of writers have been doing great so far is to do an expansion that does not contradict the book. I mean, you can add a lot of things. You can add scenes. You can even add some characters. But you can’t do anything that affects the structure—or otherwise, three or four books later, you’re going to be in trouble. [Source]
See?
So we don't really know what details of the main characters endings are from George, except for the very final result: Bran is King and aunty dies. We know the what, but we don't know the how, when and where...
Thanks for your message :)
