Shelter Stories: Teddy's Christmas tales. 🎶

Teddy: I figured I'd try my hand at this. I know other family pets have done this, so this year I will try and do some. Is this me showing you pets that need homes and some cute random things with my favorite people? Yes, yes it is.

I am one of the lucky ones myself, I was a shelter puppy, and then magically I found my forever human in Liam, and we now work together to help other pets find their furever home!

(At least as much as I can manage, as my irl health is kinda shitty atm, so my focus on anything is low, but I do love Christmas so, I will try)

I couldn't go to uni today, but later I went out into town and I watched a movie (I haven't watched one ever since my last major panic attack, so this was a big milestone), I cried, I laughed, I feared... The usual roller coaster. I went out to sit on the bench outside my college dorm room because I feared something bad was going to happen. Nothing happened, but I saw a cat and the wind was blowing strongly and I listened to a band I hardly listen to and their songs went straight into my heart... I am still here. I am still trying. I am tired, but I'm not giving up.

Sorry I didn't reply yesterday, I was having a bad day and liked nothing. Thanks for tagging me :)

It's a little hard to find things one genuinely enjoys when they're clinically and chronically depressed, but i'll take a shot at it, even just to try and remind myself the things that I like.

My parrots and fish always bring a smile to my face, because they're sweet, funny and goofy. I just love animals so much. And when one takes in special needs pets, there's no joy equal to seeing them play, have fun and explore for the first time. Or even just get better. Our newest betta rescue is making small but solid progress, and I'm delighted for him!

2. Writing and being otherwise expressive/creative. Bit of a love hate relationship, but I'm told it's like that for everybody.

3. Reading. I mostly read scientific books and papers, but some novels and fanfic as well. Regardless of the subject, reading and learning are a pleasure.

4. Solving problems. I'm an applied mathematician, so solving problems is what I do for a living. There's a very special moment when every bit of the puzzle fits together and suddenly everything makes sense.

5. Collecting some things that I like. Bit OCD, but what can we do.
