Hi I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your writing. What if the turtles got cloaking broches and wanted to show their partner, and the partner was like “yeah you’re pretty as a human but I miss your markings/stripes etc.”?

Cloaking broach (rottmnt x reader)

summary: reader and turtle’s reaction to seeing him in human form for the first time.

relationship: Rise Leo, Raph, Mikey, Donnie x GN reader (separate)

warnings: simping ✊😔, innuendos? sort of? nothing spicy or anything but idk it’s a different tone than my usual stuff XD, i guess it still counts as fluffy ending tho

with that settled, let's get to it~

The turtle made his way to your apartment, moving swiftly between the buildings, unable to hold in his excitement. He had borrowed a cloaking broach from Sunita, and he wanted you to be there when he transformed for the first time. After all, he hoped you’d like how he looked.

When he got to your place and explained the situation, you suddenly got nervous. You had never even thought about him as a human, and while you were certainly curious, you also felt strangely uneasy. What if he was shocked about how he looked? What if he was disappointed because it wasn’t like he expected? On the other hand… What if he looked even better? What were you supposed to do with that knowledge after he turned back to his turtle self?

You shook your head to rid yourself of those thoughts, focusing instead on the almost child-like glee your boyfriend had, waiting for you to join him in front of your full-length mirror.

Giving him a nod, he was just about to place the broach on his strap when you spoke, suddenly remembering a very important aspect of the transformation.

“Wait!” you stopped him, holding up your hands, and he looked at you slightly irritated but waited for you to continue, as he saw how flushed your face looked all of a sudden. “How does the whole clothes aspect work? Will you have those or will you transform, like… naked?”

“Why, would you like to see that?” he teased you.

You didn’t nod nor shake your head, instead only bringing up your hands to cover your face.

“I’m just kidding” he laughed and placed a hand on your shoulder reassuringly, giving it a bit of a squeeze. “The broach gives you the clothes you imagine, so no worries.”

“Right…” you replied sheepishly, uncovering your face. “Let’s see it then.”

And with that the turtle placed the broach on the strap around his torso, and got engulfed in a greenish smoke.

🔵 Leo

When he emerged, he was smug about it.

You blinked a couple of times, trying to process what you saw.

There were a lot of feelings happening.

Meanwhile he quite literally checked himself out in the mirror.

He had no shame about it.

You ran your hands through his hair, and the new sensation startled him, but he didn't pull back.

It felt kinda nice actually.

You traced over his face; his stripes had translated into scars and birthmarks of sorts.

As you were admiring his facial features, Leo suddenly pulled you closer by the waist, leaning in, and stopped just before your lips touched, quietly asking if he could kiss you. You replied by closing the distance.

The kiss felt different and yet the same, as it still was Leo in front of you. Again, your hands came up to run through his hair, lightly tugging at the base of the neck, which made him softly groan into the kiss. At the unexpected sound you pulled back and looked at him with big eyes and heated cheeks.

“I could get used to that” he said with his signature grin, and quickly pecked your nose.

“So, you like it?” Leo asked, placing his arm over your shoulder and pulling you into his side, so you stood next to each other, facing the mirror.

“I mean… yes? You do still look very handsome” you replied, and trailed off, biting your bottom lip, as if hesitating to continue. He gave you a soft smile through the mirror.

“But?”

“I don’t know, it’s like there’s something missing? Your half-moon markings that bring out your eyes, the stripes that seem to glow in the light, your whole ninja-ness. This feels like more of a costume than anything else… I like you in green; it feels realer.”

His gaze suddenly softened, looking vulnerable for a split second. That was not the reply he was expecting, but maybe deep inside the one he was hoping for.

“I do like the hair though” you said to go back to your banter. “And it looks like you finally can get a good posture without the shell.”

“Hey!” Leo gasped in mock offence, and you stuck out your tongue at him. “Turtle or not, I can still totally kick your butt!”

You had no time for a clever remark, as he was already playfully tackling you to the ground, with you squealing and trying to get out of his grasp to evade his relentless tickling.

🔴 Raph

He was still tall, almost as tall as his turtle form.

Just not as big.

Which was kinda weird to see.

As if there was a part of him missing in the space before you.

You hugged him and could almost reach around his back, which was impossible in his turtle form.

Also he was warm for once, which was nice.

As you were hugging him, his arms also wrapped around your form.

That’s when you noticed.

He was so soft.

“So, what do you think?” he asked at your reflection in the mirror.

You pulled back from the hug and just stared at his chest for a second. His chest was usually rather hard because of the plaster, even though it was quite flexible for him to move in. Still, you couldn’t help but wonder.

Without saying anything you gingerly placed your hands on his chest, making him slightly flinch, a violent blush spreading on his face and neck.

“This is gonna sound so weird” you said, unable to look him in the eye. “But can I… feel you?”

“Ah- Uhm- Sure.” Raph went a little stiff, unsure of what you were about to do.

Your hands traced his chest, which was still rather firm; you assumed his muscles still were present in this form. Then your fingers slowly wandered down to his tummy, which was softer, and to the sides, where you softly pinched his hip, making him squeak in surprise. You took a deep breath to recover from the sheer adorableness of his reaction, and made a mental note of doing it again in the future if you had the chance.

“So… You like it?” he asked after you seemed satisfied with your exploring.

“To be honest? Yes and no” you replied, going back to hugging him and talking to his reflection with your cheek smushed against his chest.

“I like that I can hug you like this and almost reach around you without the spikes. I like how warm and soft you feel” you explained and he smiled. “But I also really like green and spiky Raph, who is so very gentle with me and makes me feel safe.”

Raph’s arms tightened around you, giving you a kiss on the top of your head.

“Maybe we can borrow the broach in winter for cuddles?” he suggested, slightly swaying you from side to side. Now that was a compromise you could get behind.

🟠 Mikey

The only way to describe how he looked was adorable.

Since he was more petite and lighter, you figured you could give him a piggyback ride for once.

You also loved that he went with a colourful outfit and lots of accessories.

It suited him very well.

And you couldn’t get over his freckles, they were too cute!

For a while, you both just stood there curiously looking at all the details in the mirror.

Then Mikey took your hand in his.

“Whoa, so this is what it’s like to have 5 fingers!” he exclaimed, intertwining your fingers with his. You had to admit, it felt pretty nice.

While he admired his digits alongside yours, with your other hand you ruffled his hair, to which he snorted.

“That feels so weird” he laughed.

“But I bet I know what will feel nice!” you said, letting go of his hand and bringing both of yours up to softly massage his scalp.

“Oh, oh wow” Mikey basically melted away as you worked your fingers through his hair from the top of his head to the back of his neck, being careful not to get tangled in his locks. He just stood there in pure bliss, with his eyes closed. So when you were done, you couldn’t help yourself from giving him a quick peck on his lips.

He blinked a couple of times, coming out of his stupor.

“You think you could do that even when I don’t have hair?” he asked. You told him to remind you of doing so whenever he wanted. He thanked you and went in for a hug; that's when you realised there was one more thing you could do with his non-turtle self.

Without much of a warning, you bent down ever so slightly to reach under his thighs, and lifted him up with a ‘whoop!’. Mikey held onto your shoulders and instinctively wrapped his legs around your torso. You gave him a smug smile.

“This is new” Mikey commented, an ever so light blush adorning his cheeks, and you tightened your hold on him so he wouldn’t fall.

“Is it nice?” you asked. If Mikey nuzzling his face into your neck was anything to go by, you’d guess that it was.

You both knew he loved being held, especially by his brothers, so now that you could do it, he’d never want to let go.

🟣 Donnie

You blushed heavily when you saw his human form.

He was too handsome for the world to see.

“It’s too much power, he’s too dangerous” you thought.

You tried to keep your cool, you really did.

He had somehow managed to bring out his bad boy persona perfectly, without losing the nerd touch.

Seeing your reaction, he gave you a knowing grin through the mirror, resting his arm on your shoulder.

“So, what do we think?” he asked with a mock nonchalant tone. “I’d love to hear your current thought process in depth.”

“Shut up” you muttered under your breath, shoving his arm off so you could face him. You looked at him for a second, then reached up to cup his face in your hands. Now it was his turn to blush, and you gave him a smirk of your own as you realised something. You didn’t wanna ruin the moment, but you just couldn’t help yourself.

“Look at you, a real boy with real eyebrows!” you cood. Donnie scoffed.

“Don’t ‘Pinocchio’ me” he retorted, but leaned into your touch. It was a somewhat unfamiliar sensation for him too, his skin being different and all.

“May I…?” you asked, gingerly stroking his cheekbone with your thumb, silently asking for permission to further touch around his face, knowing that he wasn’t a fan of that. Deciding to make today the exception, he gave you a short nod.

“How do you feel?” you asked, this time for real, as you further inspected his face and all the features he didn’t have as a turtle: nose, ears, lips, the little freckles speckled around his cheeks.

“To be honest? Kinda like a wet noodle” he replied, earning a chuckle from you. “I feel way too exposed. Too much soft flesh… everywhere. On the outside. I don’t know how you can walk outside like this every day.” You just gave him a sympathetic smile and hummed.

Once you were done with your inspection, you withdrew from Donnie, giving him one last once-over.

“Well, that was a fun experiment” you concluded. “But I feel like your human form lacks a certain… mad scientist factor, if you will.”

Donnie agreed and took off the broach, albeit correcting you with a “not mad, just science”.

ok i've decided i want to infodump about vee and nova a little after all! because uhh not only am i impatient because autism but i also. want to dip my toes into talking about this. just days ago i was still terrified but now i am Tentatively Brave... if i can talk about it here casually like this then i should be able to write a more formal summary later some other time

i've tagged this post appropriately (at least i think i have, feel free to suggest if i should add more) but also a heads up here too before i keep talking that while i'm not going into graphic detail on anything there are STRONG themes of organized sexual abuse of a child, sexual abuse of animals, and grooming! (there are no disturbing visuals in this post, just text)

takes a deep breath alright so the deal with these two. back all the way in 2021, i decided i wanted to make "vent ocs" as in i just wanted some concrete/consistent designs i could use in vent art drawings that weren't a direct reflection of what i envision myself to look like or whatever. i was going through a lot in 2021, in december 2020 i had just gotten my first big repressed memory back and my life was in a whirlwind of change and heavily increased PTSD and DID symptoms, so i was using art a lot as an outlet. in the end i settled on this drawing, based on the design taste i would have had as a young person (god the quality is so old now LOL i've improved a lot but anyway)

i was intending for these two to be just visual designs and nothing more than that but i got attached and actually ended up giving them a whole storyline and everything, which is something i admittedly hadn't done in a long time up to that point so that's cool.

the reason i preface explaining the premise of the storyline with this is because i think it's important to acknowledge that these two are intrinsically tied with my real life and the feelings i experience as a CSA/OA survivor. not because i think someone has to go through awful things to write or draw about them necessarily, but because i am passionate about expressing myself. it's important for me to be seen in some way, to be heard after years of silence. it is not safe for me mentally to share the exact details of my abuse online rn (and please don't ask for them!) but i also don't want these two to be removed from the message that i survived something and this is me making art about that in an abstracted and magical way with a fictional universe that brings me a lot of comfort. i hope this makes sense lol

oh and also with that in mind if you think for even a second any of this is a weird sex thing for me or some shit please stop reading this post and go do something else with your time. this is my trauma expression and i don't need to be compared to the people i was abused by when i was a literal toddler thank you!

AANYWAY so! premise! gonna be point blank with it! vee (not her original name but shh) is born as a normal 100% human girl, aka without the eevee ears and tail. she is groomed from a very young age (like, toddler age) and eventually abducted by her groomers which happen to be members of... well right now it's team rocket because i haven't spent the time to worldbuild a new villainous pokemon organization yet. roll with me here. she is taken to a remote facility out in the middle of fucking nowhere and is never returned to her previous life or family.

Why? well i'm glad you asked! the org is running a bunch of different experiments in this facility and one of them happens to be trying to enable humans reproducing with pokemon. this doubles as both a money thing and a power thing. they seek out a child as the victim of these horrible experiments because children are easily malleable. way easier to control a child than an adult who already has a firm identity/self.

vee is the child they chose. surgery is forcibly done on her to give her working eevee ears and tail, and also like, fuck with her body chemistry and stuff. she's biologically part eevee now. yes this is bullshit pokemon magic science LMAO but she is kept in this facility and chronically sexually abused for a few years by pairing her with various mons and trying to get eggs to happen.

the experiment isn't working though so they hypothesize that giving her a dedicated partner, especially of the same evolutionary line, would help, and they raise nova from birth as an eevee to take on that role. eventually the two of them are paired together. despite the acts they are forced to commit on each other and the abuse they endure, they actually become inseparable very quickly cause like. they don't have anyone else. and also they just genuinely care about each other. additionally at this point nova has evolved into an espeon and has telepathic powers, so him and vee can communicate linguistically with each other, so you know that helps

generally my current focus of this story is in the early years, when vee is 12 and younger, before they start realizing that shit is fucked up and they need to escape (up until that hypothetical point they have been successfully groomed into believing everything happening to them was not abuse/was normal). i have left out a metric fuckton of detail here just to get across the basic premise. i am constantly exploring vee's psyche, nova's psyche, it's like an in depth exploration of the mind of an abused child in horrific circumstances and god it's cathartic. i love these two so fucking much

btw i guess this art has more context now huh haha after i infodumped off the plot to my sister they looked at this art again and was like. OHHH THIS IS EVEN MORE OMINOUS AND HARD TO LOOK AT WITH CONTEXT. AND I WAS LIKE YEAH!!!! YOU SEE THE VISION!!! THE SYMBOLISM!! ETC!!!!

uh yeah if you read this far thank you and i just wanna say i've been building up the courage to talk about these two for GENUINELY two years, it has been over 2 full years since that initial drawing, and i am nervous and jittery posting this but i do not want to die without having shared my work with the world and i'm willing to take the risks to get my voice out there. so you reading it is very much appreciated ur like my first step into being more confident as a survivor lol

oh and fwiw despite these guys being so correlated with my trauma it's not offensive to make headcanons or ask me questions about them or compliment darker art of them however you want, in fact i love that shit!! please i've been holding these guys back for two years i have so much to say that hasn't been said. as much as i am nervous i am EXCITED

...I just never posted this apparently, anyway-

I redesigned G3 Heath :) I'd say I'm still not 100% with my redesign for him but yeah, overall happy with how it turned out, so yeah this how I'd design a G3 look for him :) I tried to keep the blue of his redesign since that is pretty important to his new design while not straying too close to Holt (intend to design a G3 look for him and Jackson at a later date). Also dialled back that fire motifs as they feel a bit too heavy to me.

I really like his new shoes so I kept those pretty much the same, just switching up the colours and giving him velcros because I think he'd have that.

I tossed up between giving him sweatpants or shorts (went as far as drawing both) but I settled on the pants as I enjoy the idea of the dying embers look the rips give them. (I am unsure if this trait carried over but at least in G1 he had poor control of his fire powers, so thats a fun way to represent that)

But yeah be on the look out for Holt and/or Jackson from me later because those are the next two on the list (also I should check if I posted the G1 line up drawing I did lol)

I'm moving to London in September for university and I'm a bit terrified. Excited too! But nervous - it's going to be a big change and I'll also be far from all my friends and family. Do you have any advice for settling in? I like going to poetry open mics too, do you have any recommendations for ones to go to with a friendly & welcoming atmosphere?

you will be ok promise 🙂 it's gonna be so great. I would say don't rush yourself to settle, it'll take as little or as much time as it takes, just try and be present and focus on being friendly and open-hearted. say yes to everything, lap it all up.

it sounds like you're far so this won't be an issue but my most controversial advice is maybe don't go home too much (or, at all) at first (obviously do if you need to, I don't know ya). try and be in it 100% if you can, you'll get a nice long break at the end of first term to go back

as far as poetry nights go obviously the one I'm a designer at lol, resonance, the best poetry night in the whole city. but I would also say definitely get involved with the stuff that's run by students at your uni as a priority, I met so many poets I still run around w now at those things.

Making Kasumi's Rifle from Persona 5 Royal

Here's a process log of making Violet's gun from Persona 5 Royal for my cosplay!

To start with, I looked up a bunch of pictures and combed through gameplay footage to try to find good reference pictures of her gun. The best reference turned out to be pictures of Amakuni's scale figure that included her gun since the photos had clear shots of the gun from the side.

2. Then I made a pattern in Photoshop by tracing a picture of the gun from the figure and printed it out at the scale that I wanted it to be. To size it accurately to my proportions, I used nifegun.com.

3. After that, I cut out 3 layers of 5mm foam for the main part of the gun and 3 layers of 3mm foam for the lever/trigger section. Here I had them pinned together so I could double check the thickness/scale before gluing it all together. (I didn't take a picture of this part, but I also carved out space inside the gun to fit two small PVC pipes taped on top of each other to make the barrel on the inside and to give the floppy EVA foam a stable core.)

4. I glued it all together with contact cement. Here I also used a dremel to carve an indent into the side of the barrel at the front end. I also tested the primer I was planning to use (black Plastidip) on the lever/trigger part at the bottom.

5. Ignore how crusty everything looks here LOL but this is the part where I experimented a lot on how to smooth out the seams on the top, front, and bottom of the gun. I'm not 100% happy with the level of smoothness I ended up with, but this was a last minute 1-week build before a con so I settled with a couple layers.

First I tried foam clay but had a lot of trouble sanding it because the brand I bought was super cheap/sticky and would not dry. Then I moved on to wood filler, which was slightly better and actually sandable but I still wasn't really liking the gritty texture. So as a last resort I ended up using Bondo glazing putty (which is super toxic and not fun to be around--wear a respirator!) since it's my go-to when I'm working with 3D printed props. Bondo ended up working the best, but I still want to keep experimenting with other less-toxic methods for future foam props...

I also added some more panels here on top and on the sides to add some dimension.

6. I spray painted the gun black and brown and added googly eyes for rivet-like details.

7. Finished the gun by adding all the rest of the details! Glued a black plastic gem onto the front of the barrel with hot glue for the front sight, bought some brass embellishments like the little framing piece on the stock and the metal rivet on the forestock, and hand-painted the filigree on the side of the gun with a gold paint pen.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with how it came out considering it was a one-week build and my first ever gun prop! This is also the second foam prop I've made, and I feel like I learned a lot from the process.

If I ever remake it, I'd really like to add a hinge to the lever to make it functional like it is in the game like in her introduction where she spins it by pulling the lever down. I'd also probably give myself like a month or more to work on it instead of a single week LOL I got so many mosquito bites from working on this in my hot garage at night in the summer 〒▽〒

TES Cat AU: Skyrim Thieves Guild

My self indulgent TES Cat art is done, at least my favorite Skyrim Thieves guild NPCs are, Probably gonna’ post the Companions next because I was drawing the Skyrim Dark Brotherhood and for the life of me I couldn’t get Cicero to look right lol, but I’ll take suggestions :3c

(I’m so down with doing the rest of the Skyrim Thieves Guild eventually)

Anyway, my art for Skyrim Cat AU Brynjolf, Karliah and Mercer Frey under the cut, with some design notes :3

I wanted Bryn to be an orange cat, not only because I like orange cats and their low intelligence but because it just made sense. I also wanted him to be one of those massive fluffy cats, the ones that weight like 20lbs/9kg and have more fur than they know what to do with, he’d be 99% fur, go to pet him and your hand is just swallowed by the fur. I made him a mackerel tabby cuz’ I like mackerel tabbies and because they are just super common cat patterns. For a long time I wanted to give Brynjolf Sectoral Heterochromia, which is basically when one eye is 80% one color and has a little dot of another, in this case I wanted brown, but I couldn’t really get it to look right so I ultimately scrapped it.

He also has a docked tail because I liked the idea of all the known Nightingales having something fucked up with their tails.

I also did a little sketch with the thieves guild armor, I think it’ll fit like a harness with a few little pockets and bags. I imagine they’d all have dexterous enough paws where they can make stuff like furniture, buildings, tools, weapons, armor, cook food etc, makes everything a lot easier to me

I imagine all the Nords I’ll draw have ear tufts, extra fluffy paws and long fluffy fur coats, they’d probably slide on ice a lot lol, Think Maine coons, Norwegian forest cats, Siberians. I referenced Maine coons, Lynx and bobcats the most with Bryn here, but he is just a domestic cat.

So, for Karliah (same with all elves tbh) I wanted big ol’ ears, I feel like I could have made them bigger but I decided against it because I didn’t want them to be in the way too much (might change that later though). She is also mostly back cat because I felt it was simple and cute (I have a black kitty and I love her). It’s also not shown here much but she’d have pretty short fur, and a thin and small build, think 10lbs/4.5kg.

Karliah’s tail is shortened and broken (a painless break, the kind that happened as a baby) as to go with ‘all Nightingales have fucked up tails’ deal.

did a more meme-y sketch in this one, I was in a goofy mood and thought it funny how quick both Brynjolf and the Last Dragonborn were to just accept selling their souls.

I imagine all Dunmer would have black or dark grey base coats and those that are tabbies to have them be lighter than the base, so for example a black cat with white stipes or grey with red stripes. They, and all elves will be mostly based on the Oriental Long/short hair cats because of their big ol’ ears and narrow faces but I’ll take creative liberties of course.

Last in this batch is Mercer Frey, I redesigned him at least 8 times, first he was solid grey+ Tuxedo pattern, then he was a dilute grey tabby, then a spotted tabby before I settled on a colorpoint because he was said to be “high born” and coming from a wealthy family, and I was like “hey, colorpoints are fancy cat coats and I can see a rich and powerful family wanting to breed that into their line” and thus Colorpoint Mercer was decided on. I knew 100% I wanted him to be grey because of the whole “grey fox” fan thing he has going on in the game

Seems like every time I would get near him in my playthough, any playthough of Skyrim actually, he’d look at me like I just spat in his drink so I tried to capture that here. Also the Knife cat meme because I thought it fit him.

I also wanted to share my ideas for weapons (still no clue how to do bows) but swords, great swords and daggers, would be little gauntlets made of the specific type of metal that go on the paws, and they would range in size and weight depending on the weapon its based on, so great swords would be huge metal claws while daggers would just be apart of a little leather glove that wraps around the paws. Lots of good ideas cooking up in my Autistic little mind lmao /pos.

I imagine all Bretons will just look like the average street cat, standard issue cats if you will, the common domestic short/long hair, probably have the most diversity in fur patterns and the like.

So that’s what I was able to get done in about about a few hours (with frequent breaks and work in between) A lot of the time was looking at both official art, fanart and the in-game models to get a good sense on the personality (both fandom and canon) and seeing what I can convert more easily to a non-humanoid design, a lot of shape language practice because I like shapes :3

I have a Solid design down for Ulfric but I wanted to do batches with like characters, so all Thieves guild girlies with each other and so all Civil War Girlies with each other, some might be drawn in pairs as well, like Hadvar + Ralof or Vilkas + Farkas.

Sure thing, dude! I'll make this the last post of tonight's Tales of Sunday, too. Let's set this up the same way I did on this post.

Emil: He's baby boy baby! I know a lot of people who play (and dislike) DotNW can't stand Emil's cowardice and hate towards Lloyd at the beginning. Besides the hating Lloyd part, I always found it very relatable! Admittedly it's still a character flaw for him to get over, but I don't find it as annoying as others do. But I love him, I love his development, and his eventual friendship with Lloyd. I think his character was handled really well. And dude. Especially how he feels responsible for Aster's death and stealing his life? Relatable, I would feel the exact same way 100%.

Ratatosk: Spicy baby! Honestly his character development was a lot of fun to see through the story, especially how it all comes to a head when he fights Emil in the true ending. (I also love the detail that he's just as good a cook as Emil, he just doesn't care about presentation lol). The way he gets soft for Marta is very sweet, too. I have mixed feelings about how his character is handled in the crossover games, though.

Marta: Haha, like I said, she's not my favorite Tales Heroine, but she's not bad. I also loved her as a kid! She was like a silly self-insert for me at the time. Her weapon has always confused me, and her battle combos aren't great, but bringing optimism to contradict Emil's pessimism was always a nice touch. I especially love her relationship with Tenebrae, and her eventual friendship with Colette. I'm not a ~huge~ fan of her reading too much into Emil's interactions with the other female members of the party ("I see you're into older women now" like what the hell), but when she's sincere I really appreciate her.

Tenebrae: love him, snarky doggy boi :3 His clothes are the same as his skin... always bothered me, ha! Besides Repede, I think he's one of the better designs of a dog character in the series. LOVE his tail hand. Iconic design. 10/10.

Richter: He's fine, he serves his purpose. I wish I could love him as much as other fans, but much like Yuan, I never really clicked with him. His motivation and how much he believed in Aster is very moving, though! And his theme? Top tier.

Aqua: she's a character. Love her design!

Alice: a really good character to hate! Her baby voice makes my skin crawl, her malicious innocence is entertaining. All her nicknames for people suck, and I think that just adds to it. To be clear, I don't hate her as a character that exists! I'm glad she exists, she adds to the plot and to fleshing out Marta. It sucks she gets dropped for a good while after the raid on the Vanguard base. But man. I hate her.

Decus: he's fine. I tend to have a bias towards characters that have a lot of jewelry (due to my phobia) in not liking them as much as other people? He's in the story to exist as a Lloyd-framer and a mirror to Emil, but otherwise they don't do much with him that matters. He's comedic. Too much so. You can't take him seriously even when they want you to because he's too goofy.

This next section I assume you mean like, shipping wise?

Emil x Marta: They're cute! I like them a lot, as characters, but not so much as a couple, I guess? They're a cute high school couple in a Christian School setting, but once they head off to college either they're going to need to really make things work or settle with being friends (close friends!). That's the vibe I get from them. I don't see them completely separating, but I also don't see them like. Having kids. At least, not without problems.

Alice x Decus: they're a mirror to Emil and Marta's relationship! That's... about it. I'm going to be completely honest, I don't really have any thoughts about them other than that is a toxic relationship. They're okay!

things that surprised me about top surgery

seeing similar posts helped to ease my pre-surgery anxieties, so i'm hoping i can help too

(note: these are my personal experiences. i'm not claiming any of this is universal. i do use a lot of 2nd person pronouns but yeah)

the pain really isn't that bad. i heard other people say this too, but i also saw a lot of people insisting that the second day is the worst. the first night, i was actually afraid to go to bed bc i didn't want to wake up in pain. but it really isn't that bad. you will be given some pretty good painkillers so you just have to let those do the trick. i'd compare the post-op pain to a really bad charley horse at worst (i get these a lot so i know what i'm talking about lol). by which, i mean you'll get an occasional spike of pain that lasts for a few minutes and you just have to stay still while you wait for it to pass. but you most likely won't be in mind-melting wailing agony all day. i've had cramps worse than the post-op pain. the most intense pain i felt during my recovery was when i bashed my knee on an end table while i was trying to climb into bed.

but you will be uncomfortable. i eventually got the itchiness to settle down with some lotion, but for a while i was scratching myself red. for this past week, i'd compare my overall feeling to the day after an intense workout. my chest is sore, my arms are floppy, and i have to be very slow and careful with my movements. it sucks, but i consider it to be more annoying than painful. but if you do experience any actual sharp pain (that's longer than a few seconds), you should contact your doctor bc that could be signs of an infection.

you'll probably be able to be independent again sooner than you think. in the weeks leading up to the surgery, i prepared to be fully dependent on my caretaker. we thought i'd be spending weeks propped up in bed, unable to do anything else. now, it's good to over-plan than to be caught off guard, but by the third day of recovery i was able to move around freely with little help. it took a few days before i could get out of bed on my own, but once i was up i could walk around the house, make my own coffee, etc. i'm 8 days post-op and my lifestyle has pretty much returned to normal, except that i can't lift things, i can't go for runs as often, and i can't shower. but i can still draw at my computer, feed myself, and go for slower walks by myself.

stool softeners.

drains are your friend. ngl, it is kinda gross if you think about it too much. i'm not squeamish, but something about seeing the tubes and fluids does make me a bit woozy (i read gyo). i'll try to alleviate those feelings if i can. 1. you won't see the tube insertion point. i still don't know where they go. 2. even if you're not squeamish, it helps to have someone assist you with the drains. 3. get a mastectomy shirt (in a larger size). they're specially designed to conceal the drains/tubes, so i spend most of the day forgetting that they're even there. 4. like the pain, it's more annoying than agonizing. i don't like them, but mostly because they slow down my movements and prevent me from showering, not because they're causing me any real pain.

overall, i'd compare my experience to being closer to day 3 of a cold. you're not at 100%, your nose is stuffed up, your head aches, but you're still able to do stuff around your house with little issue. the most frustrating thing is waiting until you're actually better.

hiiiiiiiii thank you so much for the ask!!!! I love talking about this stupid concept that has been rotting in my head since 2021 😬💖 and oh well, this one is gonna be long but if you also have any ideas I would love to hear them 🥰💘💕💖💕

But okay, I lied because I have two concepts related to high fantasy ( I am so normal about this lol)

For the "main" project I went with Pathfinder 1e because it has so many classes to choose from, that I didn't have to rely on homebrew stuff (and because I had to learn how this system works and after 5 years I still don't get some of the stuff 😅), so I settled on:

Joel as a haunted spiritualist looking to get rid of his phantom (spellcaster with occult magic and a "pet" aka phantom)

Niko as an urban skald who pledged to retake his family's ancestral land (d&d's bard/barbarian multiclass, probably will change the backstory because it feels too meh).

Joonas as a flamesinger bard, he's just some lucky guy and nothing bad has happened to him (yet), other than some tasteless patrons disliking his music

Olli as a stargazer oracle searching for many answers in the stars (kiiiiinda like a cleric, but not devoted to any or to a single god)

Tommi as an aspect of the bear shifter whose druidic circle succumbed to corruption (melee shapeshifter, kinda like d&d's circle of the moon druid)

Aleksi as a universalist arcanist tasked with paying back a heavy family debt and no, it isn't related to money at all (d&d's sorcerer/wizard multiclass, he gets to summon a familiar and ofc it's Rilla 🥰)

If I go with that, I'm going to use Paizo's Pathfinder main campaign setting because I really don't want to come up with the worldbuilding lol (tbh that would imply creating a lot of everything from scratch, unless I actually go 100% insane and do it........)

The 2nd one is another fantasy AU where they are tieflings because who doesn't love tieflings???? I used d&d 5e and assigned one ability score to each of the boys:

Strength: Tommi as a Zariel bloodline tiefling, Path of the Totem Warrior (bear ofc) Barbarian (he strong)

Dexterity: Aleksi as a Mammon bloodline tiefling, Arcane Trickster Rogue (he's a rich little shit who loves to steal for fun)

Constitution: Joel as a Levistus bloodline tiefling, Blood Hunter from the Order of the Profane Soul with an Undead patron (I know it's mouthful but yeah.....)

Intellect: Olli as a Mephistopheles bloodline tiefling, Artillerist Artificier (and before anyone says oh but Olli is a dumbass, why intelligence? Listen. He's actually smart, but he's sooooo forgetful that not all his creations succeed...)

Wisdom: Niko as a Baalzebub bloodline tiefling, War Domain Cleric (originally I wanted to assign him the strenght attribute and Tommi would have the wisdom one, but I feel it works better this way. Niko seems to be a very wise dude IRL and not as physically strong as Tommi)

Charisma: Joonas as an Asmodeus bloodline tiefling, Wild Magic Sorcerer (I really really wanna homebrew a devil bloodline for this)

I haven't thought of any backstories or a storyline for this AU, I'm just vibing with the concept 😅 a lof of inspiration for the designs (that are in my mind ofc) comes from Pointy Hat's tiefling video, which please go watch if you haven't, it's an amazing channel.

I have a complicated relationship with art due to Not Having Enough Time And Skill. I tried to make some art back when I was choosing the horns and skin tones for tiefling!Olli, but I got frustrated and left it there to rot lol (+ i didn't like the style + took too much time)

For skin tones + eye color variation: red / purple / blue

But yeah, that's mostly it! I wish I had more to show you, but I'm hoping to have enough time work on the tiefling!AU around December or early 2024😊

@stolperzunge tagged me ^_^ and i almost don’t want to know if i have any sort of first line trends because like...first/last lines are one of the reasons i idolize my favorite author like i do. Diana wynne jones is QUEEN of last lines and grabbing you in with the first sentence, i dont know how the hell she does it. But from the first time i started reading her books at age 11 till now, im still always thrown by how reading just the first paragraph pulls my ADHD brain in and won't let go. So yeah. I /wish/ my writing could do that lol.

Before i ramble i tag @aboutthatmelancholystorm and @badgerms and @edteche2@badgerms

OKAY distracting myself this evening with some good old escapism. I know it might not seem like i put a lot of effort or thought into my fanfic, but i totally do, so this was an interesting analysis of old writing. I also expanded it to be a ‘paragraph’ instead of a sentence because i am vain enough to think that some of my introductions had a very specific opening that kind of all went together. ANYWAY:

I liked how with a lot of these you can immediately get a sense of the whole fic - like we have the gator the main driving plot haha, we have eugene starting out vaguely repulsed by but strangely comfortable with snafu. And thats pretty much the whole story

“Snafu shows up on Eugene's doorstep one morning in the late August heat - hat in hand and heart on his sleeve.”

I’m pretty sure I completely stole this whole sentence from somewhere but its so southern and exactly what the whole story is about that i dont know how else it could have began. Its all just snafu trying to win eugene back no matter what cost.

This one is boring, and im not sure what i would change to make it better. Like it tells me nothing about the rest of the story..but at the same time i kinda dont think the rest of the story was about much other than just ‘now kiss’ hahaha.

I still have a soft spot for this one, bc ive always loved being someone's ‘default’ person and thats kinda what this one is about.

This fic was 100% about attention issues and inspired by this one moment with nick on opening night during his moonlighting as a technical director and he was so nervous he kept click click clicking the pen and fidgeting and wanting to calm him i gently tugged the pen out of his hand, and it was only later i realized that i didnt do anything to help i just took the pen away. So i guess this was me imagining a scenario where calming attempts actually help and are not just taking the pen away.

this fic is so personal i dont even know where to start - i think the writing suffered from that too though, there were sections i really liked because they were entertaining or sections that really got across the anger and pain i sometimes remember viscerally but overall it wasnt like...a good story? ok i love this one, because immediately it gets across all the things that are going to happen - snafu breaking into eugene's apartment in an unsettling way, the fact that this is a common occurrance, the grad student AU. The fact that eugene is calmly reading and has no reaction to snafu breaking in because he already expects it and welcomes it lol.

yeah this definitely has no personal baggage attached to it no way lol. Snafu putting eugene on a pedestal and eugene kicking that shit over so he can sit in the dirt with snaf.

jesse's laundromat and bowling sock story will always hold a special place in my heart. This was an answer to a friend's twitter delimma of having lost their hanzo sock...so i had to address the prompt immediately and explain why it was so important to jesse that i write an entire story about his damn sock lol. Also this whole story was written my first winter in LA when i was missing the cold ice of the midwest so.

this fic is my masterpiece :P jesse fighting to win hanzo's favor and hanzo looking on disdainfully like ‘god youre a dumb cowboy’. With lots of weird references to actual historical facts and mark twain's parody of that time periods world travelers.

(OOC) This is where I left off at last night, after creating Mari's restaurant 🫠

But! I did finish creating it 😄

I cannot say with 100% certainty that it runs flawlessly, as I've yet to spend a workday in it. I intend to do that today. First though, I wanted to make a post with screen captures of my build and experiences of building it 😅😊

More or less, it took me almost 15 hours to make this one restaurant. I totally tunnel visioned- I barely got up to eat (don't be like me and do this). I survived on water and espresso, lol 😅. I'm honestly really bad at hyper focusing on projects when I'm dead-set on getting something done. I think it's my Virgo rising's fault? (astrology) Heck if I know.

The first issue I had (that I mentioned in a previous post I would have to figure out) was finding a location and plot size to build on. After visiting through all of my available worlds and through much debate, I settled upon a 50x40 plot in San Sequoia (I hate spelling this btw so I'm going to be shortening it to San Seq. from now on).

There was also a 50x40 in Henford-on-Bagley but then I'd have to deal with Wild Foxes challenges and I don't even know what that means??? 🤷🏻‍♀️ (again, I'm still a noob to Sims 4). So, I took the "safer path" and opted not to go that route. Besides, the plot in San Seq. was right next to the coast... how could resist? I also liked that they were next to recreational centers.

I thought about going with a 30x20, or a 40x20 that was also in San Seq. but when I was looking at them, they seemed very small. I was a bit paranoid to go with those and thought I'd need much more room, dismissing them entirely.

Honestly, after building the restaurant and knowing what I know now. I feel a 30x30 would have been perfect. But it's a little late for that 😅

And thinking about future projects- I could probably go back to that 30x20 in San Seq. and put a cute cafe on it 🥰 (and it'll be right next door!)

All I had to do was move the house that was currently on that plot I wanted- which was uninhabited. I did want to make use of it, so I saved it to my library and moved it to Newcrest (which is completely a blank slate for me atm). If I change my mind and decide I don't want this later, I can just demo it completely- no biggy. I think it fits nicely in Newcrest though and it's one way to slowly fill up Newcrest LOL 😂

Double Height Walls

Not a traditional square design building. Unique shape.

Second Floor is a balcony/hallway with Bathroom only.

Leaning more towards French Dishes, but "Mari's Favorites" dishes Menu

Theme steering towards Starry Sky/Cosmos/Ocean/Zen/Calming

I'm going to jump straight to my finished build screenshots.

Front and Back View - I have 2 tables in the back that I'm hoping wont make things a living hell for my chefs and waiters 😅

Here's a shot of the inside that shows some details you cant really see with my other screenies.

I had to put that weird little corner there in the top left to make the trimming do what I wanted it to do (evil trimming 😈). So I took advantage of it by making it a "Display Area" aka "Focal Point" of sorts. I mean, it'll boost the restaurants appeal this way.

I just wish EA would make that friendlier to use but I'm not sure there even is a way they could fix that. It reminds me a lot of the spaghetti coding in FFXIV. I'm just kinda over here nodding and shaking my head going uh-huh... it is what it is 🤷🏻‍♀️. What can I really do?

At one point I think I had the trimming rounding the top of the building seamlessly but then I had to backtrack and it got royally screwed up and I couldn't put it back together no matter what I did *sigh* 🫠. I settled for the way it turned out cause I want the trimming. The building looks too bland without it.

I also really like the curved corners but the way it stretches the wallpaper and causes the lighting to hit it differently kind of nags at my OCD 🙃😅. Win-lose situation here.

There weren't very many options for restaurant "signs", unfortunately. I knew I wanted a cursive sign for Celeste, and the only option I had was this short one (that doesn't look like it says "Celeste" but perhaps in Simlish) or a very tiny one that didn't even seem like a "sign".

You'll also see there's a lot of plot space I didn't use. Indeed the 50x40 was too large. I ended up using a lot of the left side for a bunch of sakura trees 😅 (I do love them a lot). I'm not sure if there's a way for me to trim this down and fit it on a smaller plot or not, but I have no intention of moving it in my game. I'm just thinking for uploading/sharing it to library purposes.

After finally building the restaurant, it was time to buy it!

I pulled her out of bed at 3:48AM to buy a restaurant 😅 (tbf it was like 11:30PM for me irl, I was exhausted)

So much detail goes into this omg! I was picking out Staff Attire...

You can choose for your Chefs, Hosts, and Waiters. They have pre-made attire or you can create your own. I opted to create my own.

Menu... oh goodness gracious the menu... 🫠

I kept getting the "Max 30 Dishes" message because I kept choosing too many things 😂. Well forgive me for having too many favorite things!

I'd also like to note and point to my Pinned Message; I have the S&S Cookbook mod so a lot of these dishes come from that. I'm not sure if I ever share my restaurant to the library, if it'd also upload my menu? (I have a feeling it will, but I can notate it and those recipes specifically will just drop off the menu if the downloader doesn't have the mod)

I'll definitely be updating this menu as my chefs become more skilled, but apparently it's best to have them start off with dishes in the lower skill range 1/5, 2/5, 3/5. If they create dishes poorly, your restaurant will be rated poorly.

And then I hired some people! For now it's limited to one position each. Starting off is going to be rough because I have 28 dining spots iirc. I just have to remember that I can click the host station and disallow new guests if things get too busy.

We'll see how this goes! \o/

1) What inspired you to make Iryna?

I’d been making OCs for shows (especially anime) and movies I enjoy for years haha so of course when BNHA came out and I watched the first season, I knew I had to make an OC for it as well! I had come up with a character concept of a foreign student at U.A. who travelled to Japan to find her missing mother and even drew a design that is extremely similar to Iryna’s current one, but I didn’t do much with the character until the pandemic hit and I re-watched the show up to season 5. I really enjoyed it on the rewatch so I went back through my old art and found the character design I’d made back when the anime first came out and decided to breathe some new life into the character. I’d actually come up with her nickname, “Kova”, long before her given name, so I re-used that and started fleshing out her backstory.

As for why she’s Ukrainian? I really wanted to make an Eastern European OC and it gave me the opportunity to extrapolate on what hero societies might look like in the BNHA world outside Japan or America. I don’t remember why exactly I settled on Ukraine, though. (It was long before the Russian invasion I swear I didn’t intend it to line up with current events!)

The other challenge I had was trying to figure out exactly where she fit into the BNHA world. I knew I wanted her to be a U.A. hero student, but I didn’t want her to replace anyone in the canon Class 1-A or 1-B. Eventually, after some thought, I settled on her being a year younger than the protagonists and entering U.A. as part of the incoming Class 1-A. The mentorship program idea that drives the plot of my fic Ground Zero formed when I realized that her quirk had some similarities to Bakugou’s and then basically went “wouldn’t it be funny if they interacted cuz they’re both pretty stubborn and hotheaded too” and then I ended up really liking their dynamic. It 100% wasn’t planned as a ship initially, but ended up heading in that direction the more I wrote them.

2) What's Iryna's home life like?

She’s really, really close to her (remaining) family! Though she hasn’t seen her mother since she was eight, she has a really strong bond with her dad, Sasha, who has always been very supportive of her dreams. She’s EXTREMELY protective of her younger brother by six years, Mykyta, especially since he’s quirkless, and has played a huge part in helping raise him— she takes her job as Big Sister very, very seriously. She also lived with her grandmother, Stanislava, in the small town of Letychiv for a few years before moving to Japan to attend U.A., and is very close with her as well. They’re not a wealthy family, but they’re a very tight-knit bunch. Iryna would definitely say she has a happy home life, but she still really misses her mother, Reina, and wants to learn the truth behind her mysterious disappearance. It’s also worth noting here that she knows pretty much nothing about her Japanese side of the family since Reina never told her children anything about her life prior to moving to Ukraine.

3) Who is Iryna's closest friend at U.A.?

Since she’s a year younger than the canon main cast, the people she’s closest to are her own classmates— I actually have 19 other OCs that make up the rest of the new Class 1-A lol maybe one day I’ll get around to sharing more about them. Of the class, her closest friends are Iida Tenshi (Tenya’s cousin) and Monoma Nagito (Neito’s brother). Outside her class, she’s closest to Bakugou since he’s her mentor, and as such will sometimes hang around with the Bakusquad.

4) What's Iryna and Bakugou's relationship like when they finally get together?

finally being the key word here lmao I don’t see them officially dating in high school at all. They both would rather launch their careers and pursue their dreams first, and a proper relationship comes many years down the line when they’re both Pros.

People expect their relationship to be a lot more volatile, since they’re both very stubborn, tend to set high expectations for themselves, and have very fiery personalities, but it’s actually kinda… remarkably chill? A lot of it is a continuation of how they are as friends and comrades-in-arms, just knowing each other inside and out and almost always being on the same wavelength. Their non-verbal communication skills are ridiculously strong— to the point where Iryna can tell what kind of mood Katsuki is in just by the sound of his footsteps— and they just kinda know what the other needs and wants without either of them having to vocalize it. Even when they were just friends, he was way more lenient with her than he was with anyone else, letting her borrow his stuff, cooking for her, tutoring her (without yelling at her lol), tolerating her teasing, and just generally allowing her to be in his space. It did take her a while to wear down his defences and get to that point but now he’s totally wrapped around her little finger and there’s nothing either of them can do about it. His friends still tease him about it mercilessly.

As adults, they’ve both matured a lot and put a ton of effort into strengthening their relationship on and off the battlefield. They play-bicker with each other, but rarely seriously fight (the rare fights are usually of the “don’t be so damn reckless!!” variety). The one major thing that everyone notices when they do finally get together is how flirty they become with each other— not that they weren’t low-key constantly flirting in their own weird ways before, but now it’s INSUFFERABLE lol they’re always trying to show off for each other and making little competitive bets and using sparring as foreplay. Despite this, they prefer to keep their relationship as private from the media as they possibly can. Overall, they’re best friends and allies and lovers all wrapped up into one, and as Iryna herself notes, there’s no Molotova without Dynamight.

5) How does Iryna's quirk work?

Her quirk, Nuclear Fission, allows her to generate and release massive quantities of fission energy, akin to a nuclear reactor or an atomic bomb. She can detonate this energy into explosions, or can channel it (especially once her control has gotten a lot better) and use it as a power source. A byproduct of her quirk makes her completely immune to nuclear radiation, allowing her to handle nuclear materials that would normally be extremely deadly with her bare hands for as long as she wants without the risk of death. While it’s a very powerful and useful quirk, it’s also quite dangerous— overuse of her powers can potentially send her body into a nuclear meltdown state that will cause irreparable damage and in extreme circumstances, even lead to a horrible, excruciating death. Because of this, she has to work hard to learn how to control her quirk and keep herself stable. Ingesting Uranium-235 supplements can provide short, temporary boosts to her power, and using her quirk manifests physically as her skin lighting up with the blue glow of Cherenkov radiation. I should also note that her explosions don’t leave radioactive waste behind, as part of her quirk (the part that also allows for her radiation immunity) makes it so that the radioactivity she produces decays in seconds rather than hundreds of years. The Brothers in Twisted Wonderland Dorms

I’ve had this idea for a while, but I’m only now just getting the idea to write it down and post it lol. This may not be 100% accurate, but I still find it pretty fitting all things considered.

Lucifer: Heartslaybyul

He would love the heavy amounts of rules the dorm has since he is also quite the rule follower. I could also see him getting along well with Riddle and Trey, and he would probably end up seeing Cater, Deuce, and Ace as being similar to his brothers. Lucifer would uphold all of the rules perfectly, and would even help Riddle enforce them when necessary.

Mammon: Scarabia

To be honest, I had a really hard time with Mammon, but I eventually settled on Scarabia, mostly by process of elimination. However, looking at it now, I can see it working out. He’d probably get along with Kalim, but he would also try to use him so that he could steal Kalim’s money. Jamil would make sure to keep Mammon in check since Kalim is sometimes pretty gullible, and would probably fall for Mammon’s tricks if not careful. I also just think the general vibe of Scarabia would suit Mammon well, especially since Kalim is the dorm leader.

Leviathan: Ignihyde

This one is pretty obvious, but I’m still gonna explain it anyways. Most of the Ignihyde students are shut-ins who rarely interact with other dorms. They’re also very good with tech and are constantly studying how technology relates to magic. All of this just screams Leviathan. I also think he would get along well with Idia, and they could be gaming buddies together. I could also see him being really fascinated with Ortho and his design.

Satan: Octavinelle

Again, this one was a no brainer for me. Basically all Octavinelle students are highly intelligent, and are usually quite cunning as well. Satan would fit right in, and I could also see him being a big help with the Monstro Lounge as well. He’d get along with Azul, and would be totally down for helping him get contracts, as long as he also benefits in some way, of course. Also, the general vibe of the dorm is something I can see Satan liking. Just the overall classiness just seems like something he’d enjoy.

Asmodeus: Pomefiore

Asmo is a perfect fit for Pomefiore in all honesty. Besides his beauty that could easily rival Vil’s, I also think Asmo has it in him to be a decent poison maker. I believe it’s said somewhere in-game that Asmo makes some of his own beauty products, and if not then it’s a personal headcanon of mine. But anyways, I feel like that could be worked into also being good at potion, specifically poison making. I mean, I know they have to have a potions class at R.A.D. somewhere, and poisons are a natural product of that. Plus, as I’ve already stated, Asmo does have the looks to get into the dorm as well.

Beelzebub: Savanaclaw

Savanaclaw is the dorm for athletics, and none of the brothers fit that role better than Beel. He’d be a great addition to the dorm, and to any future sports teams he may join as well. I see him getting along with Jack, and they would probably work out together when they have free time. In a similar way to Jack, I feel like Beel would respect Leona, but to necessarily like him as a person. He’d also probably go bother Ruggie every now and then about food, but he’d back off if he knew Ruggie was busy dealing with Leona.

Belphegor: Diasomnia

There isn’t much known about Diasomnia right now since it’s book hasn’t been released, so I’ll do what I can for now. Diasomnia as we know it is a pretty mysterious dorm filled with mysterious people. Most students are rather afraid of the Diasomnia members, and this is where I could see Belphie fitting in. Belphie himself isn’t all the open with others, and he can be intimidating when he so chooses. I see him befriending Silver since they have a lot in common, and I don’t see him being afraid of the other members so easily. Overall, I think he’d be pretty chill over in Diasomnia since it’s one of the quieter dorms (as far as we know) and it’s filled with people similar to Belphie.
