just started crying while watching poa bc harry never got to really know his dad yet everyone sees a part of james in him and harry was the “powerful wizard” (as stated by hermione) who was able to cast a full bodied patronus to literally save sirius but he will never get to see the proud look on his parents faces and he never got to know uncle moony and uncle padfoot and only knew sirius, his godfather who was accused of murder and was now on the run, and lupin, his former dada professor and anyways now im screaming crying throwing up

Bonus: has more freckles than Lily and Albus combined. A softhearted agent of chaos. Out of his entire family he has the most upbeat personality (his grandmother always used to say he was what would happen if sunshine was a person). Always the one to crack a joke during uncomfortable situations to lighten the atmosphere. He remembers the birthdays of everyone he's ever met. Played as a Chaser on the house team. Rox calls him "Jamjar". The Golden Child of the family and has all the negative effects you would expect because of it. Number one forehead kisser award. Harbors a silent dislike towards Sirius Black but would never admit that to his father. Older people absolutely love him because he's so chatty. Considers Teddy to be his best friend, but Louis is a very close second. The one in the family all the cousins (plus al and lily) are secretly protective of. His first tattoo was a stick and poke crescent moon on his left wrist given to him by Teddy.

I think James is a very protective person in general and outrageously pure-hearted, almost to a fault. His wand is extremely powerful in his hands, and while it will work if used by someone else, it's much less powerful, and spells will often sputter or die out. The only spells the wand will properly cast in someone elses hands are shields and defensive charms. In James' hands, however, it can cast incredibly strong magic.

Wand Core — Ashwinder Egg

"The eggs of an Ashwinder are usually found in the wands of those skilled in Potioneering..."

I just love the idea that James would have an innate talent for potions that his wand could sense the moment he stepped into the shop. I also like to headcanon that his great grandfather Fleamont Potter, an accomplished potioneer, shared the same core in his wand. When Olivander tells him that detail the day they bought his wand, he feels immediate pride and a sense of honor and connection to Fleamont.

Patronus — Stag Wolf

"Stags symbolize heroism, bravery, and new life. Owners of a stag Patronus make extraordinary, influential leaders and honestly care about the well-being of others. You are likely confident in yourself and stand up for your beliefs."

"Wolves are powerful protectors who find strength in numbers as they always travel in a pack. If you have this Patronus, then you should trust your instincts as they are usually spot on."

James' patronus changes after he loses the ability to cast a stag following a traumatic incident (see TBOTS fic for details of this headcanon). It takes years for him to be able to cast a corporeal form again, but when he does it takes the form of a wolf to match Teddy's, because in the end it's memories of Teddy that allow him to cast the charm successfully again. He's the only one of the new gen whose patronus changes, and the only one who loses the ability to cast the charm for any amount of time.

You guys, I shit you not, I found a literal silver doe at the store tonight!!! 🤯😲

I went into town this evening with my mom to go to the Christmas fair and we stopped in one store because we needed some small Christmas supplies. And there was a beautiful silver doe in one of the shelves. It's obviously a decorative ornament for Christmas but I'm totally in awe! They usually only have stags of all kind and they do, hundreds of variations of stags! 🦌 But in this one shelf they had a doe and she was silver and she was so beautiful! 😍😭💗

I got her and I'll be given her for Christmas. So on Christmas Eve I'll probably be able to share pictures (we get presents on Christmas Eve here in Germany). I'm so excited and I love her, it's so wonderful that she comes visit me so kindly. 😍💖

Ok, in a reply to a post I made in on of my blogs @hpfanficsworld , the answer to the question was that he/she thought that his patronus would still be a stag bc James would still love Lily.

First if all, thanks for the reply. Next of all, James love for Lily is not the reason his patronus is a doe, and I think its more possible that Lilys patronus is a doe bc of her love for James. Alot of people think that James patronus changed bc he loved Lily, whose patronus was always a doe. What would it have changed from?

James is strong, confident, and reliable. He was a natural born leaders, and often took charge of a situation. He was reliable, trustworthy, and dependable.

That's James, though people could argue he bullied Snape, I don't think it was bullying.

Below are two different definitions for stag patronus/animagi meaning:

Often regarded as a protector, a stag Patronus might indicate that you look out for others, as well as shine in leadership roles. Just like Harry, we'd feel safe with his proud guardian as our Patronus.

Speed and nobility. Both Harry and James have stag patronuses , they're both noble, both are shown to have extraordinarily quick reflexes and both are very fast in quidditch.

Stag symbolism and meanings include stamina, virility, grace, instincts, maturity, regeneration, and spiritual enlightenment. The stag – sometimes referred to as hart – is exalted among other deer. He is mature and experienced, having endured life's challenges, and he has a massive crown of antlers to show for it.

I think that fits James perfectly. James would have never doubted his friends, he cares fiercely for those he loved, James was noble, brave, and playing quidditch and being around moony on the full moon shows that he has stamina. He does mature and ends up dying a hero. He fights in a war, and though he does not enjoy being in hiding, for his families sake does so. He does bot run away even when his family is marked. Antlers usually represent strength, which I believe he also has.

Doe as a patronus is also good fit. Most of the above would also be true

I don't think James or Lily's patronus changed bc they fell in love with the other, both of them had similar traits, if not the same, and had the same patronus.

If you need more proof, while a patronus can change when you fall in love, I am sure that ones' animagus can't, as an animagus represent someones soul animal. And if we go by the 'James matured for Lily's sake', then his patronus would have changed, right?

But its not possible that the stag was his patronus bc of Lily, for one bc Snape loves Lily- and his patronus is not a stag. But for another is that James' animagus is a stag, before he 'changed' for Lily, as many believe. If he had changed inside and out, by meaning his patronus is a stag bc he loved Lily, then:

The stags personality or traits would not really fit him, or his younger self (it does fit his younger self)

His animagus would not be a stag, as by this argument, his love for Lily is the only reason his patronus is a stag, and while you can say he loved Lily in his 5th year, if he 'changed' and 'matured' for Lily's sake in his 7th year, then his patronus would have changed.

It would be canon that his patronus had changed.

Since James patronus and animagi were a stag same from 5th year, it is safe to say that James love for Lily is not the reason his patronus is a stag.

Snape was obsessed with Lily and James truly loved her!!

Bullshit.

Snape: Respects Lilys boundaries and stays away from her after the mudblood incident.

Does not stalk her.

Does not give her a love potion etc. eventhough he could.

Lets her go.

James: Literally threatens to hurt Lilys friend, if she doesn’t go out with him.

Hurts Snape out of sexual jealousy and to get Lilys attention.

James patronus doesn‘t match Lilys, it was a stag before he got together with her- it didn’t change to match hers. Snapes changed to match her doe- must be obsessed. Couldn‘t possibly be because he just loved her so much. No- must be an obsession.

Is noone gonna talk about the fact that Tonks patronus changed to match that of her husband?

I guess she must have been obsessed too.
