Heyy… Can i ask for Tara x Reader? Where Tara and R (they have been dating for a very long time now) had a fight at the party and at the fight Tara says about ‘she’ll let go of R’ and then at the third act instead of Tara, R is about the fall and Tara is holding her. She’ll eventually has to let go of R. (reader might get a bit more than Tara did)
Tara Carpenter/Fem!Reader
Warnings: Angst but happy ending
WC: 3.4K
Authors note: hope you like it and sorry for the wait. Sorry for any mistakes. Also kinda of a rushed ending. Didn’t really now how to end this one but hope you enjoy:)
~~~~***~~~~
You clenched your jaw at what you were seeing. All day she had begged you to go to the stupid frat party. You had wanted to stay in and have the movie nigh that was planned. But no, some douche bag had invited your girlfriend to party and now she just had to go. She had begged you to go with the promise that she would stay by your side. You knew how much she had wanted to go back to normal. How much she wanted to live the life of a normal college student. So you had agreed.
But upon arriving to the party she had disappeared from your side. Leaving you alone at party you did not want to be in.
It wasn't long till you saw her again talking to that creep Frankie. When you and the group had first arrived in New York that guy had tried just about anything to get with Tara. Completely ignoring the fact that Tara has a girlfriend. You had not felt threatened not in the slightest. You had fully trusted Tara. Frankie was a pig and total creep. But as time went on you had become to feel, insecure? Tara had not payed any attention to Frankie. But as time went on you noticed that she also wouldn't stop his advances. Always humoring him when ever he would talk to her.
You had spoken to Tara about it. She had promised that she didn't care about him. That you shouldn't worry and that she didn't even notice. That the only person she could ever love was you. And you had believed her. But lately you had begun to, doubt that. The way she been acting towards you, and not even you but towards her own sister as well.
You and Sam were kinda of alike when came down to wanting to protect Tara. Maybe you were bit overprotective as well. You were just afraid, you had come close to losing Tara last year. You had been away at a soccer game when she was attacked. On a school bus on the way back to town when you had been called by your best friends mom. Judy had called you and you remember the emotions when you heard that Tara had been attacked. You'd never forget it. It was a reason why you were so protective of her. Losing the woman you love was something that had your heart in a tight fist.
Your eyes quickly searched the area when didn't see Tara. Catching her back side as she walked through the crowd. You quickly followed, wanting to make sure she was okay. Your first tightening up when you saw Frankie leading her by the hand up the stairs. You were quick to take a hold of the hand not being held by the creep.
"She's good down here."
"Oh hey babe. He's just gonna give me more beer." Tara spoke her words coming out more slurred than before. You avoided her gaze. Your eyes never leaving Frankie's.
"Yea we're just getting more drinks." He smirked down at you. His attitude only irking you more. Taking a few steps closer. Pulling on Tara, she had stumbled into you, her other wrist still being held by Frankie.
"No we're actually leaving. Now let her go."
"No I don't want to leave. Ugh y/n you're just like Sam. So fucking boring and paranoid. Just let me go."
"Oh you heard her. Let her go. She don't want you no more." He laughed.
Although the words hurt. You kept your grip on Tara. Even though she didn't deny what Frankie said. You took the last step towards him pushing him hard enough to lose his balance. He stumbled back causing him to let go of Tara. You pulled Tara towards you and down the steps. Sighing in relief when you saw Mindy and Anika standing there. You had gently pushed Tara into Anika's arms.
Before you could follow them towards the door, a hand roughly turned you around. You prepared for a punch but it never came. What came after was Sam showing up and tasing Frankie in the balls. You would have laughed but the way Tara had snapped had your group of friends leaving the house in a quick pase.
You watched as Tara argued with Sam. You knew Sam was taking everything Tara was saying to heart. Sam had spoken to you about wanting to go back to college. Wanting to chase the career of being a cop. You were happy for Sam, you wanted her to do what made her happy.
"-And you. What you can't be far from me for few fucking seconds?! Can't you fucking let me go for a few minutes without you hovering." She yelled at you.
You didn't think you were hovering or being clingy cause that's how she just made you feel. Clingy. You just wanted to make sure she was okay. She didn't experience the fear you went through when you almost lost her.
"Let you go?" You scoffed. "You mean let you go with that creep? Are you fucking kidding me? Do you even know what he was going to do?"
Tara stood there not being able yo say anything, she knew what she wanted to say but her mouth remained shut.
"Do you even care? Cause I've told you how I've felt but you've always pushed that talk a side, bottling everything up."
"Of course I care, I just want have some space. You have to let me go Y/n. I've already let you go."
You wanted to cry, but you bit your tongue in hopes of keeping your emotions in check. Was she breaking up with you? You couldn't understand what she was implying. After everything you both had gone through, was she really throwing it away?
"MURDER!!"
Everyones heads had snapped towards a girl who had been shouting at Sam. Going as far throwing a drink at Sam. Looking for an outlet for your emotions, your threw your own drink, it was a water bottle that you had only taken one sip from. Chucking the drink straight at the girl and hitting her directly on the forehead. The girl yelled some more before her own friends pulled her away.
You didn't turn around hearing Tara and the rest of the group walking away. Ethan giving a few napkins to Sam before also walking away. Once alone you finally let a few tears out.
"You know she didn't mean it like that." Sam spoke softly to you. She knew Tara would never yell at you like she just did, Tara was just taking out the anger she felt towards her at you. But the way you looked at Sam made her own tears build up. She knew how much you loved Tara. The words Tara had yelled at you were for sure knifes to the heart.
"Come on. Let's go home."
*
When you arrived at your shared apartment. A part of you wished that you had gotten your own apartment, and that you didn't share a room with someone who clearly thought you were clingy. She didn't say that but she clearly had implied that. And who might have broken up with you.
You heard Tara in your shared room. You sighed, you needed a change of clothing. You walked into the room, avoiding Tara's gaze as you searched for some sweats and a hoodie.
"Y/n I'm-Not right now Tara." Once finding the clothing, you left the room not wanting to talk to her in the moment, afraid you'd cry if you did.
*
Everything had happened so fast. From the killings being announced to the blame being put on Sam. Quinn had said that her dad wanted to talk to Sam. You had moved quickly following Sam out the door, Tara had also followed. Even though there had been some tension between you and Tara. From the phone call Sam had received when you had been heading to the station. You still held her hand as you hid from ghostface in a bodega.
Your heart hammering in your chest as you hand slipped Tara's hold when the shot gun rang out. Sam and Tara had gone one way and you the other way. Moving slowly as you crouched down eyes connecting with Sam as she looked at you through the gaps of the shelves. With your hands you motioned to tip over the shelf. She nodded, looking back at Tara to tell her the plane then looking back you with a nod.
Hearing ghostface grunt from the force of two shelves falling on him. You ran out of the store right behind Sam and Tara. Tara's hand finding yours again. The police had arrived not even a second later. They had taken the three of you into the station.
Ghostface was back. And this one wasn't playing around.
                  **~~~~**
You were sat back in your shared room, everyone had been gathered back at the apartment. After being released from the police everyone had met on campus. You had almost laughed when Tara had punched Gale. You knew she deserved it but a little part of you had felt a bit bad. She had lost the man she loved last year after all.
The emotions you had towards the fight with Tara had been pushed to the side. But now in a small moment of peace and silence. The emotions came back. The doubt, the insecurity, the feeling of Tara not loving you no more came back. You had just gotten changed, back from a shower. Sam, Chad, Mindy, Anika and Tara were in the living room or kitchen. Quinn in her room with some guy most likely.
The uncertainty of your relationship with the woman you love was-
"Y/n? Can we talk?"
"What is there to talk about. You made yourself pretty clear." You spoke as you leaned down to tie your shoes. You needed something to do with your hands. You couldn't look at Tara, cause you knew if you did you would burst into tears.
"Y/n please. I didn't mean what I said. I was I was just angry and I took it out on you. It wasn't fair to you." Tara moved to sit next you. She had regretted the second the words left her mouth. She had wanted to talk to you the second you arrived at the apartment with Sam. But the way you had brushed her off, she knew you needed space.
"But you know what they say, a drunk mind is speaks a sober heart. So there had to be some truth behind what you said." You said after a moment of silence. You could practically feel the tension in the room. You stood up, moving to leave the room but her hand shot out to taking to your wrist.
"Wait Y/n please, you have-Uh guys foods ready."
Knowing the conversation was put on pause, Tara let go of your wrist. Following you out the room. She couldn't help put have your words repeat in her head. Did you really think that she didn't want you around. Yes she's been stressed lately but never to the point where she didn't want you around. There were many times where she craved your presence. To be honest she didn't remember much from what she said last night. But from what Mindy told her, it wasn't good.
She took in the way you didn't look her way. The way you know felt uncomfortable around her. It was like the first time she met you. How closed off and shy you were. How you barely let anyone around you. The walls you around your heart had been easy for her to climb over. But now here she was once again on the outside. It was something that she hated to see.
The way you would shut down, she was told how you would get in trouble as a kid for showing too much emotion by your parents. How your excitement was always squashed down by others who did not care. Or how your last girlfriend had berated you for being too protective, too clingy, too...you. She had promised, swore that she'd never be like any of those people.
Seeing you not be yourself around her, was her fault. There was no one else to blame but herself.
*
Ghostface had attacked again. This time seriously injuring Anika. Almost succeeding in killing her. She had been rushed to the hospital, Quinn had not been so lucky.
The events that followed had been a bit of a blur for you. From trying to trap ghostface only for it to back fire and ghostface to successfully attacking Gale. Now the group was back in the theater turned shrine of all the past ghostfaces and their victims. You had stood back next to the ticket stand.
"Hey.."
"Hey." You hated how, you know felt like you couldn't be yourself around Tara. Tara is the love of your life, she's your person. But you couldn't help the feeling.
"Y/n I hate this. Please. I didn't mean a single thing I said. I was angry and I know thats no excuse but I love you. I love you so much and I can't-Tara watch out!"
You pulled her towards you at the sight of Ghostface sneaking up behind her. You acted quickly. Kicking Ghostface in the stomach. Chad had arrived in time to help you as he also grabbed what ever he could to hurt Ghostface.
Everything had happened so quickly one second you were helping Chad and the next you had been knocked down by another ghostface. Tara had moved quickly to help you up. You tried to move to help Chad but was stopped by Sam. Ignoring the screams of Tara as you now also held her back.
You had no choice but to run away. Hoping to find a way out.
*
You still couldn't believe that it was Ethan and Quinn behind the masks. And the mastermind behind everything was Detective Bailey. You couldn't believe Mindy had been right.
"Come on Tara! Go you first." You helped her climb the side railing. "Sam! Hurry up!" You felt horrible leaving Kirby on the floor but you had no choice. Quickly following Sam. Tara stood on top helping you steady yourself on the ledge.
Tara took your hand as she followed Sam. Keeping a strong grip on your hand. She couldn't afford on losing you. Even if thing between you two were tense, she couldn't lose you. She'd rather die than to lose you which is why her grip only tightened when the gunshots rang out. Feeling your body weight pull on her arm as you slipped from the ledge. Your grip on her hand slipping, but you were quick to take a hold of the ledge.
Sam and Tara were able to take a hold of your wrist but your arm had been cut and your blood had made it hard to keep a good grip on you.
"Fuck. I can't, I can't grab on."
"Hold on baby. Please." Tara cried, as Ethan went under you and tried to stab you with his knife.
"Come on Y/n, I promise I'll be gentle."
"Fuck you." You desperately tried to take a hold on Tara's or Sam's hand. But you were slowly slipping. The sound of loud stomping footsteps had caused the three of you snapped your heads to the right, only to see a toothless Quinn.
"You guys are so fucked now."
"Tara. Tara!"
Her head looked back down at you. Her eyes filling with fear and tears. Your look of determination, but also acceptance?"
"Let me go."
"What? No!" She her head as she tried to tighten her grip on you. She wasn't sure what you were thinking, how you could possibly think that she'd let you go and let you fall to your certain death.
"Tara let me go. Trust me." You tried to show her that you weren't scared. That you knew what you were about to do. Moving your gaze to Sam. You knew Tara wouldn't let you go. You knew that she'd rather fall with you. But you couldn't have that. She needed to help her sister. You and Sam had shared a look. She nodded as she handed you the knife.
"Sam no!" Tara cried as her grip began to slip more, you were no longer trying to hold on to her. The moment your fingers grasped the knife, her hold completely slipped. Only being able to scream as she watched you fall in to Ethan's knife.
Sobbing as she watched you get stabbed more than once before you stabbed Ethan in the mouth. Faintly hearing a shot as she watched you fall to your side.
"Y/n! I'm coming. Just hold on baby. Hold on."
You really did try, but the pain you felt had been overwhelming.
*
The faint noise of a steady beep was heard when you came back to. Your eyes opening only to squint them at the bright light. The last thing you remember had been Tara leaning over you as she cried, her mouth had been moving but her voice had been muffled. Before you blacked out.
Now you were obviously in a hospital bed. Your tilted the side when you heard the familiar soft snores. Tara was sat by your bed side. Her hand lightly holding yours as she slept. Her head resting on the side of the bed next to your joined hands. She was sat in a way you knew was uncomfortable.
“Tara.”
At sound of your voice she shot up. Her eyes connecting to yours as they filled with tears. Barely able to keep in the sob that wanted to escape. She was quick to wrap you in a careful hug. You could feel her shoulders shaking as she hugged you. You were glad that she was okay. Your arms wrapped around her as well. Hoping to comfort her. You weren’t sure where your relationship stood with the girl but you still loved her.
“I thought I lost you.” Tara had broke down when she saw your unconscious body laying there. The dread and anguish that washed over had been immense.
“I’m right here Tara. I’m okay, are you and the others okay?”
She leaned back from the hug, but never let you hand go. Choosing to hold your hand in between hers in a strong grip.
“Yea. They’re okay. So is Chad. He’s fine. Out of surgery and looking to make a full recovery.” She took you in. The way your face was bit pale, from all the blood loss, the bruises and cuts that were more noticeable. But she noticed more was how you refused to look into her eyes.
“Y/n I’m sorry, I know what I said hurt you. At first I didn’t remember what I said, but now I remember. And I do not feel that way. I love you, I love you with all my heart. What I said was not true. I don’t know where that came from. I just remember feeling so angry. And I took it out on you.” She tried to blink away the tears but it was no use.
“When we first dated, I swore to myself that I’d never be like your ex. That I’d never make you feel unwanted or unloved. And, fuck I broke it. I treated you horribly when you’ve been nothing but supportive and caring. I’ll understand..I’ll understand if you don’t, if you don’t want to be with me anymore.”
You lightly pulled on her hand. Her eyes looking away from your joined hand to look into your eyes. You hissed as you scooted to the side of the bed. Making room.
“Come on. Lay with me.”
“Wh-What?”
“I’m not breaking up you Tara. I mean, don’t get wrong I was hurt. But I love you too and we’ll be able to work on this. Now come on lay with me. I’m tired and I know you are to.”
She hesitated, not wanting to hurt you. But from another pull of her hand she was quick to lay with you. Careful not hurt you. She laid her head on your shoulder. Relaxing in your embrace. Feeling so grateful to still have you with her.
She’d work hard to make it up to you.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
After the discovery of your pregnancy, you both waited to tell anyone outside of immediate family for several weeks.
Of course, that was the intention.
But things never go according to plan, do they?
Obviously, as your doctor – Shoko found out first. Well, technically – Gojo was the first, then you, then Shoko. Then Nanami walked in and found out. You obviously couldn’t keep such huge news from Megumi, so you told him after a few days.
“Hey ‘Gumi, can you pass me the syrup?” You say to the boy beside you. It had been Saturday morning tradition to have waffles (the only thing Satoru exceeds at making) for about 7 years by now, you no longer had Tsumiki – but it was still important to gather together, you hoped you could still do it every few weeks once Megumi starts at Jujutsu High in a few months. Today though, you and Satoru had made extra tiny waffles and put out a small plate and a small cup. Megumi, never the best in the morning, had yet not noticed the odd place setting and ill-fitting waffles.
But it didn’t take long.
“Why are the waffles so small?” He sleepily asks Satoru.
“For tiny hands, Megumi! Duh! Silly sausage!” He laughs at him, with a wink at you.
“Gotta gets practicing, good sizing ‘toru.” You say, winking back.
Megumi looks so confused between you both but brushes it off as the fact that both his parents are insane.
He eats another waffle (he’s a growing boy), and watches Satoru pile fudge and syrup on his and you put crushed Oreo’s and white chocolate sauce on yours and then moves to grab the coffee pot, when he sees the tiny plate and tiny cup.
“Are you two trying some Alice in Wonderland shit?” He says, completely aware of the harebrained schemes you both concoct.
“Nah.” Satoru says, shaking his head.
“Just getting used to having a little one at the table is all.” You shrug, as if this is a totally casual thing to say.
Megumi’s face remains uninterested if slightly irked for a few seconds before his eyes widen and jaws drops.
“Wait – mom, are you pregnant?” He asks staring at you.
“Yeah, sweetie.”
“Holy shit.”
“That’s what I said.” Satoru chimes in.
“Are you like – okay?” Asks Megumi and you nearly giggle at his awkwardness.
“A little nauseous and tired, but me and the baby are super healthy. You’ll have a baby sister or brother in 7 months' time.” You lean back in your chair with a hand on your slightly bloated belly.
“It’s definitely a boy! And we’re gonna call him Megumi 2.0.” Satoru chimes in.
“No, we’re not.” Megumi replies – sterner than a 15-year-old should be.
“Okay then how about Satoru Junior?” Suggests your husband.
“No.” You mutter, giggling at your boys.
Silence falls as you laugh.
Megumi is looking at the table, and you worry he is unhappy with the news.
But that’s swiftly assuaged.
“I don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl - it’s gonna be really cool to have a baby around. I always liked the idea of being a big brother.” He shrugs, still looking at the table but you can see a small smile on his face and you and Satoru exchange smiles because for Megumi, this is the equivalent of jumping up and down in happiness.
You asked Megumi to keep it to himself until you were 3 months, he wasn’t really your concern – Satoru was the issue. He could barely contain himself.
At week 14, you were sitting waiting to hear from Shoko whether the little one was a boy or a girl, Satoru had taken to calling the baby ‘lil’mochi’ and you just about melted every time.
“Gojo, Y/N – I would like to formally introduce you to –” Shoko says as she turns the screen of the ultrasound machine toward you.
“Your son.”
You let out a sob and Satoru let’s put a cheer as you leap and wrap your arms around him.
“We’re gonna have a baby boy, ‘toru! Mochi is a boy!”
“Hi Satoru Junior!” He says pressing kisses all over your tummy.
“No.”
You told the rest of the students by getting them all T-shirts with ‘Gojo Babysitting Gang’ on them, squeals from Nobara and tears from Yuuji and Panda and cheers from Inumaki and Maki rang out across the field that day.
As your belly started to grow, your family became so protective that you never walked across the school alone. Megumi was tentative around you, completely unsure of how to handle and approach you, a pregnant woman, but Satoru was the worst.
He had become insatiable. Even more than usual. The first time you turned sideways, and he noticed your tiny bump underneath your pyjamas he went feral, thighs over his shoulders and you pinned against the walls as he worshiped you like a goddess on his knees.
The bigger the bump got, the worse it got.
“Satoru – you can’t get me any more damn pregnant.” You giggled one day as he wiggled your panties down your legs.
“I’m the strongest, I can do anything Princess. Just look so damn pretty, fuck, look at ya, all round with my baby.”
He had taken to loving having you on top, swollen tits bouncing in his face with every rise of your body. There was just something about every single person knowing that he had done that, you were swollen and glowing and plump with his child – that inside you was his baby.
You of course, weren’t complaining – hormones making everything so sensitive that your husband’s already phenomenal talents were even more valuable to your heightened body.
He was so soft with you too, bathing you when you got to the end of your pregnancy, catering to any craving, he would rub Shea butter into your bump with you laying with your back to his chest every night and then he’d put his hand on your lap so he could talk to the baby as you played with his hair.
You were his world, his princess, and you were making a whole entire human – he thinks you might actually be the strongest.
The nursery you guys had decorated was perfect. Forest green walls, fairy lights and toadstool lamps decorating the room – all the furniture vintage and dark wood and the crib for when the baby was older surrounded by the softest sheets money could buy.
The day you were waiting for wasn’t coming as fast as you wanted. You were two weeks overdue now – it was June, it was hot, it was humid and you were getting miserable. You were heavy and sweaty and tired and this damn baby was as stubborn as it’s father. You had taken maternity leave from teaching at the school a month ago but you still somehow ended up there daily. Today, loose flowing maternity dress decorated with strawberries swaying around you, you carried a basket of goodies toward the training field where you knew your husband would be with the first years.
“Guys! Stop! There’s a goddess on the field!” Satoru shouts at the kids, dropping to his knees in front of you and pressing kisses to the bump – receiving a few kicks at the sound of their papa's voice.
“Hi Y/N!” Yuuji says.
“Y/N! You’re the most stylish pregnant woman I think I’ve ever seen, omg!” Nobara squeals.
“Hey mom.” A shrug from Megumi.
“I brought snacks, I was bored as shit at home - there’s mochi and candied fruit, some sandwiches and lemonade.” You say, placing the picnic basket beside you.
“You okay, Princess?” Satoru rises and pulls you into his chest and kisses the crown of your head and you melt into him, feeling at ease now he’s with you. A twinge in your tummy, another Braxton hick's contraction.
“It’s hot and your baby is stubborn.” You mutter, pouting.
“He’s like his momma.”
“He’s like his papa.”
“He’s like you both.” Comes from Megumi who has opened the sandwiches.
He might be right.
You both sit and rest with the first years when you begin talking about your cursed technique and its effects.
“Vine whip? That sounds awesome!” Yuuji shouts.
You stand (with a lot of effort and help from Satoru) and reached out your arms, pointing it at a distant training dummy and using your technique to wrap a vine around them and then smack it to the ground.
You froze.
Cheers erupted from your tiny audience.
You slowly turned.
“‘Toru.” Your eyes widened.
“Princess?”
“It’s time.”
“Time for what?” He cocks his head – the kids are looking between you both.
“‘Toru, my water just broke.”
A beat of silence as everyone’s eyes drops and see the little wet patch of grass by your feet.
“Holy shit!”
And with that you were lifted bridal style and sprinted toward Shoko’s office – choruses of ‘we love you!’ And ‘you got this’ echoing from the field.
Akio Ryu Tadashi Gojo was born 13 hours later.
And welcomed by the most adoring, loving, doting parents the world had seen.
could you possibly do lockwood x reader and the reader is always slightly to eager to sacrifice her life for george and lockwood etc to the point where lockwood is concerned about it and he confronts her abt it and she basically says how does the same thing like kinda angsty.
sorry that was long and rly specific and sounds abit depressing in retrospect 😭 no pressure if not love ur lockwood and co imagines tho
a/n: oh i can absolutely do this! if there's anything i love, it's lockwood and angst lol. i hope you enjoy!! and don't worry about the length of a request, if there's something you want then I'll do it <3
warnings: mild language, angst, mentions of death gn reader
It's four in the morning and all you want is a good cup of tea and to lie down, but when does anything ever go the way you want it to?
As you sit on one of the kitchen chairs, Lockwood is fumbling around, trying to patch up a gash on your forehead after a scuffle with the ghost you had a case for tonight. You feel like a child. Even more so because he's telling you off.
If you're being honest, you've not been listening to most of what he's been saying, partly because of exhaustion and pain, partly because he's been pattering on for so long that, quite frankly, you've lost interest.
"Are you even listening to me?"
You flinch as Lockwood slathers antiseptic cream on the cut. "Honest answer?"
"Preferably."
"Then no. What were you saying?"
The look he gives you holds no humour. No, this is the look Anthony Lockwood gives when he's tired and irritated and unable to keep up the farce of a charming, unbothered business owner. It doesn't hold much sway over you, and it never has, truthfully, but you can empathise with him. Solely because he often acts the same way you're acting now.
"You can't keep doing this," he says. His eyes are fixed on the plaster he slowly places on your forehead. "You're throwing yourself into harm's way with no good cause."
"No good cause? I think making sure you and George stay alive is an exceptional cause."
"This isn't a joke, (name). This is your life."
The words irk you a little. "I could say the same to you."
Lockwood's hands drop from your head, and he looks at you straight-on now. His eyes, usually filled with curiosity and soft happiness, swirl with something else. Frustration.
"What do you mean by that?"
"You're always so snippy with me after cases," you say, trying to keep the edge out of your voice, "when all I'm doing is keeping you and George safe. I mean, tonight, you were both ghost-locked when I found you! But you're no different. If anything, you're worse than me. You've thrown yourself out of windows before. Shit, you've locked me in a room to fight a ghost yourself while I tried to find a source!"
He starts packing away the first aid kit, tearing his eyes away from yours, and you know you've made a good point. He never looks at you when he knows you're right.
"Lockwood, this company can't survive without you, we can't survive without you. My risks are thought through, and I'm not doing anything that should really cost me my life. You on the other hand..."
He glances at you, a muscle twitching in his cheek. "Me?"
You sigh, willing him silently to just look at you. "You'd give your life in a second. Which, believe me, I am eternally appreciative of, but it's rarely ever necessary, if ever. I've half a mind to think you're doing it to just... you know. Finish things. I'm - we're concerned about you."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh, you absolutely do. You are such a hypocrite!"
"Me?" The look he gives you is scathing, so unlike any way he's looked at you before. "That's rich. Who was it that jumped from a balcony to stop of ghost? Who put themself right in the path of a ghost launching itself for someone? It was you!"
The anger that grips you is almost unbearable, but you push it down. Shouting will get you nowhere, and George is trying to sleep. "First of all, that balcony hung over a thick spread of bushes, so I had no injuries except for some thorn scrapes. Secondly, that ghost was going to kill you. Third, I can name at least five more things you've done in the last two weeks that put you in much more danger. Are we seriously going to make this a competition?"
Suddenly, he stands, and his chair scrapes loudly against the floor. You wince, watching as he shoves the first aid kit back into the cupboard. He pauses, hands on the countertop, standing straight as a rod.
Drama queen, you think, but you don't dare say it out loud.
"You're getting too reckless," Lockwood says, his back still facing you. "I can't risk having an agent who is too reckless. It endangers everyone."
Oh, you want to strangle him.
Angrily, you stand, not caring that you almost send the chair clattering to the floor. You press your hands to the table, wrinkling the thinking cloth, and lean forward, scowling.
"Reckless? Do you even hear yourself, Lockwood?"
"I do."
"I think you just love to hear the sound of your own voice. Surely that's why you spout so much bullshit."
"No, I -"
"I'm talking now, Lockwood," you snap and, thank god, he goes quiet. "You of all people do not get to call me reckless, not with the shit you pull. George, yes, he can feel free. But, you? Not a fucking chance. You go out of your way to put yourself in dangerous situations! And I get it, you want to protect us, but that is what I'm doing, too, and you don't see me almost dying! I leave with a scratch or two, so what. You leave with concussions and ghost-touch and the risk of bleeding internally. But, okay, I'm the reckless one. Whatever."
When he turns, his eyes are burning. "You endanger all of us when you pull shit like what you did today."
Scoffing, you say, "All right. What should I have done? Left you and George to be killed? My question is, what would you have done, Lockwood? Would you have left us?"
His silence is your answer, and you stand straight. Your gazes are locked, both alight with rage, but you won't back down. Not on this.
"That's what I thought."
You make to leave, but he moves quickly, grasping your wrist with a touch that should be strong. You're surprised by the gentleness of his hand, how loose his grip is, and you look up at him, frowning. His gaze has changed entirely, from rage to desperation.
"I can't -" He struggles for the words. "I can't lose you, (name). Not like I lost..."
My family. The words are left unspoken, but you know it's what he would've said. There's a pang in your heart, and you want to apologise for it all, but that's always been your gut instinct. To say sorry for everything. But not this time.
"And you think I can bear to lose you?" You try to hide the waver in your voice, but he's caught it, and you know it from the way his gaze softens. "You can't order me around, demand me not to protect you guys, when you do exactly that. It's not fair, Lockwood. Not on me, not on George. And I don't - I don't want a part in this if all you're going to do is sacrifice yourself and then criticise me for doing the same."
His hand shakes as it holds yours, and that's when all the sadness hits you, the regret for the argument you've had. "I'm sorry. I just..."
Your hand closes over his. "I know. I know."
When his forehead touches yours, careful not to press on the gash, you breathe in deeply. And you breathe out all the bad, all the pent-up anger inside of you. There's too little time in your lives to spend like this.
"I won't stop unless you stop," you murmur, closing your eyes.
His breath is warm on your cheeks. "Seems like we're stuck in a checkmate forever, then."
You sigh. "I suppose we are."
Hello darling! Hope you're having a good time💜 what about Billy and P and G?
Tumblr media
(gif not mine)
G - Gentle (How gentle are they both physically and emotionally?)
Billy is exceptionally gentle with you in the beginning, most likely because a. he's not investing a lot because he figures you're gonna wise up and leave soon enough, and b. as you begin to stay longer and longer he then kinda starts panicking about how he should go about putting in the effort to make you stay. Well because... he really didn't think you would. So now that you're here each new day he begins to worry. He still worries that you're going to leave. That never left. But now you've been around so long that he actually cares now. He's invested. There's some feeling and emotion at stake. Oh god! Bleeding hearts of the world unite, amiright? And he's bad at this. Like endearingly, baby deer on shaky legs, bad. He's so worried that if he doesn't treat you gently, wrap you in bubble wrap. Never lose his temper. Always kiss you. Always be the 'good boyfriend'. Never shout. Type of guy. ... That he's gonna lose you. That he's gonna break you. And that it will be his fault. And that like everything else in his life, he'll feel he deserves this. This is his lot in life.
And he has a lot to learn. And it's gonna happen. Most likely when push comes to shove and he just can't keep swallowing it anymore. You have a hell of a fight. You can't stand be treated with kid gloves. You've seen him angry, you don't like him pretending around you but not others. You shove him. You lose your own temper and hit him. He pushes you away and you fall and hit your head. And it just all explodes. Tears and fear, shame and anger and anguish. "You won't like me now!" Items being thrown and broken. Thrusting you straight into a hurricane. "I break everything I touch!" Trying to talk him through it, but really having no choice but to weather the storm with him. Waiting until he's exhausted and sliding down the wall to the floor. Knuckles bloody and drywall dented, just to sit next to him quietly. "You can be angry Billy." As he numbly sits there with tears still silently rolling down his face. "I want all of you, not some of you."
P - Patience (How easily angered are they?)
Billy is not a patient person but he's working on it. A lot of Billy's anger is tied to his anxiety. His patience was thinnest when you were first starting off. That's when you had to be the patient one, with enough to spare for the both of you. It was almost like a long-con marshmallow test. The longer you could make your own patience last, the better payout you would get with Billy, your proverbial marshmallow.
Things are better the longer you are together. He'll catch himself as his voice rises, and he'll bite it off quickly. His eyebrows knitting together and shoulders drooping with a huffed "sorry". There's times when you might do something that irks him, and you'll catch his nose scrunching in annoyance, or his knuckles clenching and unclenching before he exhales and looks at you. "What?" "You know what?" And then you smile sheepishly, "Oh yeah... sorry." But most of his anger and his impatience has little to do with you. It's woven into his environment. It's when he realizes he got caught up spending too much time with you and is past curfew. So he may run out the door without saying 'good night' properly. Or he's gotten a less than stellar grade on a midterm, and to top it off Max is late after school.
You've had plenty of fights. More than a handful of screaming matches. But they blow over and you've learned that being with him learns having to rise and fall with his mercurial moods.
G - Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc)
Billy is primarily serious during any and all aspects of sex, but he can complement your energy. He'll laugh with you if you laugh at something or if you fall out of your jeans onto your face. He can appreciate spontaneous and unexpected moments. But for the most part, your lungs are going to be so busy screaming that it's going to be rather hard to joke or laugh at anything.
P - Pace (Are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
Billy can alternate. It definitely depends on his mood, the day that it's been, how much time you have to be together, etc. He'll also definitely slow his pace to drag out his endurance and/or to make you earn it.
Billy always starts right out of the gates like a shot. He might ease in kindly. Other times not. But once in? Oh no no no, honey. You better grab onto something. He edges off a bit when he gets a good rhythm started, but the pace will stay consistent. And if he's already learned where those spots are that makes you gasp and cry? Oh, it's rough. Long deep strokes. Slow pulls back, as he locks eyes with you, just to meanly thrust back inside you. Make your neck snap backward, and your jaw fall slack.
If his orgasm is building too quickly, he backs off. Shifts and reseats himself in you shallowly. Thrusting slowly, and driving down the sensitivity. At least for himself. He usually takes this as an opportunity to drive yours through the roof. Lay rough hands on already frayed and fired-up nerve endings. Rubbing a thick wad of spit across sensitive and tingling red flesh to make you scream his name. He stops just shy of a flutter of tightened muscle around his girth. A noted quiver in your voice. A shallow hitch in your breath. And he mercilessly abandons his ministrations all to shove himself within you to the hilt. Your thighs straining and calves locking behind him as drives into you. A broad hand pinning you down as the other returns to you. Thumbing and pinching at you. Rubbing. "Come on babe." he encourages with a snap of his hips. "So close."
Why??? Don’t drop this chapter means a high possibility of gojo being alive him yuta and yuji will fight against sukuna trusttttt
anon i’m literally in mourning rn 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 using this ask as an excuse to rant about this chapter because i’m bitter don’t mind me
(jjk chapter 249 spoilers under cut !!)
to be clear i’m not actually dropping the manga lol i could never but i am eerily tempted <333 this is the only time i’ve actually been upset w akutami (normally i’m his white knight)……. i just feel sooo disappointed? part of me still has hope but i just. ack. :’3
first of all!!! i 100% believe gojo is alive and will return, and also that yuji & yuuta will be able to get gumi back (not sure if that’ll end well tho lmao) so i’m not worried abt that!! and i’m very hyped for sukuna vs yuuta in general, yuuta’s domain is sooo fucking sick and perfect for him!!!!
to be perfectly clear!! i’m upset about this <33
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…………… i was so convinced that kenny wouldn’t die but my hopes are almost completely crushed atp… this just Feels like a death moment yk?? and i’m so disappointed not ONLY because kenny is my favorite character but also because this is such an unsatisfactory conclusion for him. :( kenny has so much depth and he’s so important for the narrative, so the fact that we didn’t get a single inner thought from him in his dying moment is like. sacreligious to me. TO BE CLEAR i LOVE his last words and the fact that he mentions takaba (kenkaba stays on top <333) and he looks super good in this panel also… but his death still feels so out of nowhere and unfinished to me.
a part of me is still hoping that he’ll survive somehow, or that we’ll at least see more of him through flashbacks or some afterlife sequence or whatnot, but i kinda…. doubt it. and that irks me. like i’m sorry but to me this just feels out of character for kenny?? he just accepted his death??? really????? he literally spent a millenium planning the merger and culling game just to satisfy his curiousity and suddenly he’s fine with not seeing it?????? i had this whole theory that kenny would find meaning in death (since it’s something completely outside his control, which is explicitly what he was searching for all along) but we didn’t get a single inner thought. no look into what he feels except that he’s happy to have met takaba (which is really sweet and i cried but that’s besides the point)…..
AND THEN THERE’S ALSO HIS CONNECTION TO YUJI. really???? we’re never gonna see a confrontation between them???? yuji is never gonna learn that kenny is his fucking mom????? even if choso tells him or whatever it doesn’t feel conclusive. i’m just mad because it feels like gege had soooo much planned that he wasn’t able to execute because the manga industry is running him ragged and that just sucks :(((( like. hahhhhh….. i just really feel that a villain as wonderful AND as important as kenny deserves more than just a couple panels for his death. naoya got more than that. obviously he was gonna die at some point but i had such high hopes for his final scene and even though i adored his fight with takaba it doesn’t feel right for him to die here.
so as u can tell i am extremely upset <333 i’ll get over it soon and i still have just a tinyyy bit of hope that we’ll see more of kenny but i just feel… so let down by this. i’m gonna treasure the kenkaba panel forever and ever and (again) i LOVE his last words but i just can’t feel satisfied with his death. for now i’m just gonna wait until tcb translates the chapter because the translation i read was clunky…. but i kinda doubt it’ll change much T_T
{Revenge} neteyam x fem! na'vi
Revenge is always the best medication to give.
wrd count: 1k
Tumblr media
You always kept a journal that you wrote your feelings in. For the past couple weeks. your "boyfriend" Lo'ak, has been acting strange.
Day 1- 'Lo'ak hasn't been paying attention to me lately. He's starting to be around Tsireya a lot, I get it she's teaching him her ways, but it kinda irks me'
I sat by myself, looking from a far at Tsireya and Lo'ak laughing with each other in the water. You looked away, feeling hurt by this. Neteyam came by your side to talk. "Hey Y/N" "Hello Neteyam" "Whatcha doing" "Seeing my quote on quote boyfriend being giggly with my best friend" "Oh" He put his arm around me in comfort. "It's alright" "Yeah I guess" Speaking of the devil, Lo'ak comes over, not even looking at me. I gave him a dirty look as he walked past me, Neteyam as well. Neteyam was always by my side, more than Lo'ak. He was like my guardian angel. I sat, talking and laughing with Neteyam when Lo'ak came back out "Yo, what are you doing?" He stood there with his arms crossed staring down at me. I ignored him for the heat of the moment. I stood up, taking Neteyam's hand in mine. Looking back at Lo'ak while walking away, he scoffed and rolled his eyes, going back to Tsireya. "What was that about?" Tsireya said while waving her hands in the water. "I don't even know" He looked back seeing where we both went.
Day 2- 'Lo'ak isn't even sleeping with me anymore, or even touching me. I'm trying to stay strong but, it definitely is hard trying not to confront him about it because I do still love him it's just hard knowing that he might not love me back anymore'
You were making food with Neytiri and Neteyam, trying to help Neteyam wrap better. "No it goes left then right" You lightly pushed him. "Y/N, you know he's not a cook" Neytiri said while wrapping fast "I want to be able to cook like you one day" You gave Neytiri a light smile. Lo'ak was nowhere to be seen. This made you worried, not knowing where he was-he could be doing something he shouldn't have been. You were trying to keep your mind off from him for now. "Y/N, Neteyam could you please do me a favor and go look for Lo'ak. It's dinner time" "Yes ma'am" You said while getting up. "I don't want to do this. What if I see him doing something" "Then we'd have to find out" Neteyam stuck his arm out so you attach yourself to him. While looking for Lo'ak, Neteyam was telling you how he felt about the whole situation, "I think that he wouldn't just throw you away like that" "I think he would. Have you seen the way he looks at her?! If he didn't want me, why did he even get with me" You finally found Lo'ak sitting with Tsireya. His hand on her thigh. You stood there in shock. You slowly released yourself from Neteyam, walking back wrapping your arms around you. Neteyam shook his head at Lo'ak before running after you. Lo'ak saw Neteyam running after you, a confused look filled his face.
Day 3- 'This isn't cool. First he doesn't even look at me and now he's trying to get with my best friend, this isn't what I wanted. I need to get my Revenge. I have so many emotions, anger, sadness, and rage. Wait for what's coming to you Lo'ak Sully'
You went to go look for Neteyam, he was sitting on the floor in his pod. "Neteyam I need to talk to you" "Yes what is it my Y/N" You loved when he called you his. "I love you" He stood up, stared at you with a confused look "What? I thought you were with Lo'ak" Not after that. I always knew that I should've picked you" You took his cheeks into your hand while staring deep into his golden eyes. He kissed you passionately. You deepened the kiss by taking your hands to his shoulders. You tore away. "I want to make him jealous Neteyam." "I will stick by your side always my Y/N" You smiled as you dragged him outside. You held hands with Neteyam as you were walking on the hot sand. You felt as if you were actually loved for once. You were nuzzling your head in his neck, when you saw Tsireya and Lo'ak by the water on their ilus. Tsireya's mouth was agape. Lo'ak was confused and he turned his head to see what she was looking at. You and Neteyam holding hands being all lovey-dovey with each other. Lo'ak got off his ilu and and stormed over to you two. "What is this!?" He pointed at your hands locked. "Oh nothing just my new boyfriend. Have you met him before?" Lo'ak shook his head "Why are you doing this?" You let go of Neteyam's hand. "Have you no sympathy? You have been all over my BEST FRIEND, and see nothing wrong with it" "Y/N I-" You cut him off "I used to love you, actually. I wanted to have a real relationship with you Lo'ak. You hurt me when Tsireya came around. I wanted her to help you, not for you to fall in love with her" He stayed silent as you scolded him. He looked over to Neteyam "How could you do this to me brother?" he sounded hurt. You crossed your arms and turned your head away from him. "I agree with Y/N. You treated her like absolute shit brother. Threw her away for her best friend? I wouldn't even stoop that low" Neteyam put his hand on Lo'ak shoulder "I have always loved Y/N, you took her away from me. And look at me now."Lo'ak swatted Neteyam's hand away from him in anger. He took you by your waist and kissed your cheek. "It's called revenge sweetheart" You patted his arm. He had the most horrible look a person could have on his face. Tsireya came behind him comforting him. You walked away as your tail swung.
Day 4- 'I finally confronted Lo'ak about his actions. He seemed hurt but I didn't care, he hurt me first. Now I'm with the better and more mature brother. It's foul but...It's my sweet sweet Revenge.'
hey, kat. it is that anon.
i just came here to apologize for just ....yeah....how that all went down. i wrote that message in haste. i'm abc so when i saw your post my first thought was "wow kinda not cool of them to say that" but then i thought about how i would've posted the same thing if my relatives were fatshaming me. i agree with you that--especially in a predominantly white society--that we have every right to speak to our identities and cultures, including their unrealistic beauty standards.
i looked through your about-mes and couldn't find any mention of your identity, not that you have to disclose that tho. at the time, i tried to think "how can i tell this person that what they said is not ok if they are not-chinese, but that they have every right to (and i can relate) if they are?" and obviously i did a poor job conveying that. i was weighing the possibility that you were white and saying something racist against the possibility that you were also chinese and you had the right to say that.
didn't want to come off anon because we're moots who just haven't really talked much and i don't want to get off on the wrong foot because i was hoping to become friends eventually. i'm not sure if i can salvage things, so if you want me to just unfollow that's fine.
once again very sorry for my miscommunications. like i said, i was feeling kinda fiery as i thought about the possibility of that post coming from a white person. i hope my apology can bring you some peace. wholeheartedly, i hope you are okay and im sorry once again.
(editing bc I was too stoned to see the part about you being abc alskdkfjfg)
honestly, i think the main thing was that this could have been avoided if you had dm'd me. i'm a *tad* less agitated about it now because i've had time to process and took some anxiety meds.
and thank you for taking the time to clarify. i appreciate it. and again, i get it. you were trying to watch out for a marginalized group. communicating through text is difficult.
tldr;
- you don't have to salvage anything - me explaining the white savior complex a bit more, although I appreciate you clarifying about being abc (so am I!) - although i'm still not okay with the original ask i do appreciate you reaching out again and taking the time to clarify - i'm sorry for being so hostile about it /gen - if you do want to chat feel free to dm (whether about this or hornyposting - i'm stoned af rn lmao and am chilling, esp now that you've taken the time to clarify/reach out)
i wouldn't worry about salvaging anything because it doesnt need to be. you taking the time to type this out already says the world about your position and intentions as more genuine and, honestly
most people don't know. my main gripe was the feeling that someone was trying to come in and shut my voice down. with the invalidation that i have dealt with personally, but also as a community that is constantly having our voice stomped on, the comment about feeling the right to say it was what set me off.
I'm sorry I just kinda assumed you were white (guess we were in the same boat there lmao), but a huge thing that irks me in general (not isolated to this obvs), is that a lot of the people that do these types of callouts are usually someone with multiple dominant identities, and rarely the identity of the group they're trying to protect. and this is a huge problem in the social work field especially because the dominant group is *constantly* speaking FOR the marginalized group, regardless of its what they want or not.
anyway, i'm glad you reached out. i'm still not okay with the ask, but you bringing clarity to it does make it a bit easier to deal with. if you want to come off anon and dm me, i'd be glad to talk and chat, even if it's about this (or levi ackerman's cock idrc)
with anons, comes an extra layer of unease, animosity, and uncertainty, so the potential for miscommunication is very high. but again, the fact that you came out, clarified, despite technically not even needing to because i never would've figured out who you were anyway, says much more about your intentions and authenticity (positive) more than anything else could have
sorry i was so hostile in my responses. this is clearly something i've had to tell people off about. my offer still stands, if you want to dm, please feel free (i'm nice once you get to know me i swear LMAO) to
forget club rat az, mcr hot topic az is what we need. anyway hello????!!!!!!! it's time for my cbmthy thoughts baz was LITERALLY the mvp there. The way this man stood his ground to one of the most feared warriors of Night Court, that was so fun to read. Reader has to bring him a breakfast gift basket or something when she's back! He deserves it. ~very well acquainted
Also, Azriel is the king of Being In Denial. You know she's not in that goddamn room. And I agree with Yarnball (Wool?) 🧶 that it irks me that suddenly he's only giving her a second thought now because there's a vision where he dies? Please. He has so much yearning and redemption to do. (and I can't wait to see it happen hehe! suffer, az) (but I do remember him thinking that he's scared her off too... like the others have before and she was outlasting them... hmmm... I'll love to have him elaborate on that thought)
Her trading the earrings for the ring was EVERYTHING I got an inkling she might do that while I was reading and it was amazing when it actually happened. You said that even Az would be relieved she got rid of it, but I kinda wanted him to be a little offended fdbfhdfjfbd like why was he obsessively looking for them in her room? Hmph. I hope he does clutch his pearls a little when he sees she chose a fox ring as the trade!
Now for the main, most important part: Death Surge? As in the burst of energy and vitality one gets when they're about to die? Tabby, you evil genius. I'm so excited to see the extent of her powers and what she can do with them, and why the Cauldron would give her that. Nesta took something, Elain was given... could reader have been dying when she was dumped into the magic bathtub and her powers happened as a response to this second life? Very, very interesting. I'm at the edge of my seat. the writing is beautiful as always! you're a source of inspiration for me at this point, it makes me want to experiment with my wording and sentence building. <3
(also, I think it's great that we are forming a group of besties through these anon asks, I love interacting with you all!!) love, 🥐
‘forget club rat az, mor hot topic az is what we need. anyway’
Wait hold on!! I have evidence to support this 🥹🧡💛
‘hello????!!!!!!! it's time for my cbmthy thoughts’
Let’s gooooo 🥳🔊
‘baz was LITERALLY the mvp there. The way this man stood his ground to one of the most feared warriors of Night Court, that was so fun to read.’
He’s so provocative it’s worrying 😭 like I know he had a tendency toward violence (in the casual-brawl-at-the-pub kind of way, not anything potentially dangerous to reader) but an Illyrian warrior Bas?? Please be more careful next time 😭
‘Reader has to bring him a breakfast gift basket or something when she's back! He deserves it. ~very well acquainted’
🤭🤭🤭
‘And I agree with Yarnball (Wool?) 🧶’
I love it so much when you interact with one another 🥹 it’s so sweet to see 😭
‘He has so much yearning and redemption to do. (and I can't wait to see it happen hehe! suffer, az)’
I’ve been thinking about how exactly Az’s redemption is going to go, because while I don’t think he’s done anything bad bad, I don’t think reader will be able to trust him entirely as is, even if she wants to.
Trust building exercises!!! 🔊🔊🔊
‘suffer, az’
👀🤭🤭🤭
‘(but I do remember him thinking that he's scared her off too... like the others have before and she was outlasting them... hmmm... I'll love to have him elaborate on that thought)’
Oh my gosh, that was meant to be him thinking “first I was kind of a dick to her in library, then I was more of a dick after, then I read through the volume, then I got her a bland present, then I left her unchecked when I should have spoken to her instead of giving her time and space🙄”
Sorry, I can see how that could be misinterpreted 🫣😅
‘Her trading the earrings for the ring was EVERYTHING I got an inkling she might do that while I was reading and it was amazing when it actually happened.’
I’m so happy you enjoyed it 👹
I remeber thinking so many times when I was writing part 12 “okay, you have to remember to mention that she takes the earrings with her or else what’s even the point” 😭🤦
‘I hope he does clutch his pearls a little when he sees she chose a fox ring as the trade!’
“I’m happy you got rid of them, but a fox ring? Really?” Yes, Az. Really 🤭 I think his feathers will get at least a little ruffled when he sees that finds out about it :)
‘I'm so excited to see the extent of her powers and what she can do with them, and why the Cauldron would give her that.’
I’m glad you’re excited because I’m scared—I don’t want to mess anything up from how I’ve imagined it 🫣😭
‘the writing is beautiful as always! you're a source of inspiration for me at this point, it makes me want to experiment with my wording and sentence building. <3’
😳😳😳 I’m so flattered, thank you 😭🫂
Writing is so fun for me and such a nice way to relax (most of the time) so I hope you get a similar thing out of it! 🧡💛🫂
‘(also, I think it's great that we are forming a group of besties through these anon asks, I love interacting with you all!!)’
Right? It’s so lovely to see you speaking with one another ☹️☹️🧡💛
Meeting
Because you all asked, here are a few words of Theseus and Tina meeting a few months after Crimes of Grindelwald.
-&-
“Theseus!” Avery leads Tina across the room with a commanding gesture that irks her slightly, though at least she’s fairly confident he’d do the same to any man in her position. Something about America and MACUSA being young and untested, as if the Ministry hasn’t turned to her department for help on several major cases in the past few years and beyond.
“Theseus, meet your American counterpart, then. This is Miss Tina Goldstein, MACUSA’s new Head Auror.”
Tina is struck, as she had been when Newt took the polyjuice, and again when they’d run into the man himself, by the family resemblance. They are quite like each other in many ways--the read hair and freckles; their long limbs.
But also, she is struck by the ways that they are different. Theseus holds himself like an auror. He looks--solid--in a way that Newt doesn’t. Traditional.
“Oh,” Theseus says drily, holding out a hand for her to shake, “we’ve met.”
His eyes dance, and suddenly she sees in them the spark of mirth she’s caught in Newt’s eyes when he’s amused or teasing.
Perhaps she shouldn’t judge so soon.
“Well, kinda,” Tina admits, shaking his hand.
She feels his scrutiny, but can hardly wonder at it. Even if they weren’t at a conference where they’ll likely be working together to coordinate MACUSA and Ministry responses to international crime, he probably has other reasons to be curious.
If she’d met Newt, on a trip to London, say, Queenie would certainly have had much to observe when meeting him.
“I wasn’t aware of that,” Avery says, throwing Theseus a vaguely accusatory look.
“It was brief,” Tina explains, “We were both busy.”
“Although I was treated to a display of Miss Goldstein’s impressive wandwork.”
Tina feels herself blush.
“Well. Get acquainted, then. The first meeting is at nine.”
“Forgive me,” Theseus says once Avery’s left them. “I’d speak more plainly, but that man has no imagination, and I’m afraid he might hold it against you.”
“You don’t?”
Theseus chuckles. “Credit where credit is due. It’s good to be bested every once it a while. It keeps one humble. Plus, Newt tells me you held your own against Grindelwald, even if he wasn’t wearing his own face, so I can hardly be too disappointed in myself.”
“You were frustrated with your brother.” She shrugs. “People are easy to catch off guard when they’re distracted.”
He laughs. “I’ll keep that excuse in mind, then.” He grasps her hand, surprising her. “Truly. I am glad to meet you properly. I’m not sure what Newt’s told you--” he sighs “--I haven’t always been--I’m not sure I’ve always been the best brother for him, but I value his judgement more than he thinks. It is an honor to meet someone of whom he speaks so highly.”
She’s not known what to make of Theseus, exactly. He and Newt seem to be growing closer in the months since Paris, and Newt has seemed perplexed by the change. He’s written her stories from their childhood that depict a well-meaning, but often rigid--sometimes thoughtless--brother who following their father in wishing for Newt to be, well, less Newt. But in the gaps, she’s wondered if it was a burden partly of worry--of, sometimes in the wrong way, wanting to make sure that his brother would be alright. That Theseus fell in love with Leta speaks volumes for his ability to see past the blind, sneering judgements of society. Perhaps it’s a skill he’s learning later in life.
“A pleasure to meet you, as well.” Tina squeezes his hand before she lets it go.
Theseus smiles a softer, genuine smile, looking almost boyish. They really are a little alike, after all. (She thinks perhaps Newt values his brother’s opinion more than either of them is prepared to admit. Although it’s not her place to say.)
Newt’s written other stories of Theseus as well. Nights when he’s knocked on Newt’s door after a few drinks and asked if he could sleep on the sofa rather than return to his empty flat. How, a few weeks after Tina had returned to America, Theseus had made it through the whole of Leta’s memorial service without crying, but had sobbed the moment the door closed on the last of their guests.
She doesn’t bring any of that up for a reason. Work is a place to be alright even when she’s not. She would despise it if every meeting became another place for people to casually inquiry about Queenie, even if they meant it kindly. Does despise it, come to that, when it has happened, and did before, when she was younger and people would ask about her parents.
“I wanted to ask your opinion on a case, if you have a few moments later today. I hear you handled something similar a few months back.”
“Sure.”
“Good.”
“We’d better--”
“Yes, of course.” He nods past the table of tea and coffee to the meeting room. “Lead the way.”
Something that kinda irks me in fanfics with eddie is when they write how he survives and he starts hanging with Steve and everyone they completely make it seem like eddie just abandoned his entire band.
Everyone should be able to write whatever they want to write. I don't mean to sound rude and I didn't take your message as rude or mean either, I'm just not a fan of people complaining about other people's stories to me since fanfiction is for fun and for free and I'd rather celebrate the stories and the aspects of fanfics we enjoy than talk about those we don't. I've noticed that there's been an influx of this kind of messages over the past few months, of people complaining about other people's stories and themes and I decided that this will be the last of this kind of messages I'll answer. It's nothing against you; I just prefer to read about the tropes and aspects of fanfics you enjoy rather than those you don't.
That being said, it would be a natural and logical thing for Eddie to seek friendship with those who have sought him out and helped him when he needed help, who were ready to put themselves in danger despite not even knowing him to help him hide and fight the monster which framed him for the murders. Bear in mind that it isn't like Eddie is a Veronica Sawyer taken in by the Heathers and now ignoring his uncool friends. Eddie has went through trauma, and Steve and the rest of the party share this trauma. And shared trauma, in the words of Murray Bauman, can't be beat. For Eddie to be closer with the party than with his other friends is logical and natural and actually a form of coping which could help him heal, from a psychological point of view. The same way self help groups are effective, one might say. That doesn't mean he'd abandon his friends - it only means he finds comfort and belonging with those who know about the terrors he went through, about the Upside Down and its monsters, the things his friends from Hellfire don't know and cannot be told because it would put them in danger as well (if they even believed him). The things Eddie went through and has seen would have changed him, and made him grow closer with those who were by his side. That's perfectly normal, and tbh assuming he'd just go on as if nothing had happened after his whole life was literally turned upside down and nearly ended is a way more unrealistic stance.
And lastly, Eddie was the one who was abandoned by his band friends first. This is in no way meant to put blame on anyone but definitely should be mentioned: they were having band practice without Eddie, not worrying why he hadn't shown up when news of a gruesome murder at the trailer park was making the rounds in the morning. They didn't go to check whether he was okay, and they sold him out almost instantly to Jason and his cronies while knowing exactly how violent they could be and that they wouldn't be looking for their friend to hold a tea party.
Again, this is not against you, just me setting a boundary which I hope you understand 🖤
What’s your opinion on Kongen på havet? Just re-watched the first episode after 13 years (å jesus), and ehhh… I don’t know? It kinda irked me in some way? I can’t really pin-point it. Really want to hear your thoughts since you’re our trusty kaptein sabeltann expert
I have many thoughts on it, but I do agree with you that it's not my favourite version of the Kaptein Sabeltann universe 😅 Maybe some of the issues I have with it, is what's bothering you too?
🏴‍☠️ My main issue lies with how it focuses mostly on Pinky. Pinky is an important character in the shows, but partof the appeal with him as a character is that he is one child surrounded by adults who are all pirates. In the series they introduce more child-characters and shift the focus onto the relationship between them and Pinky, and the result of that is that the series just becomes another children's show and it doesn't feel very unique. My love and interest in the shows as a child was definitively Kaptein Sabeltann, and here he almost becomes a minor character. And for me, Pinky is just an annoying, whiny kid in this series.
🏴‍☠️ Another issue I have with the series is how Kaptein Sabeltann is portrayed. In the shows he is always scary and explosive and you get that mixed sense of fear and respect for him. He is not scary at all in the series and whenever he is angry you don't get the sense that there will be consequences. It's all just empty threats and he does not appear as intimidating. I also wish his coat and wig were bigger so that he would seems more dramatic, because next to Langemann he looks very small and that's not right.
🏴‍☠️ Next, and probably the main reason I'm not a huge fan of the series, is the issue of Langemann. I do not care for how he is portrayed in this series at all - everything I love about his character has been removed. The way he acts around Pinky is weird and it feels like they changed his personality to fit better in with Pinky's struggles. He acts like a typical parent in a children's show; ignoring important problems when it fits the plot, telling him off over stupid things, and excessively worrying about him when that fits the plot. It also bothers me how he walks in front of Kaptein Sabeltann, when he's always shown following him (because he is supposed to be his shadow) in the shows. And his entire attitude towards Kaptein Sabeltann is annoying? Langemann just seems to be fed up and tired of listening to him?? Which is supposed to be his entire character? It doesn't help that they added Rosa as his love interest either. It's just another thing to create unnecessary drama and subplots that does not make sense. She, as a character, is not bad even though she kind of falls victim to the "strong female character without a real personality" and the way she acts sometimes is just to create drama. I think her character is made to humanize Langemann a bit, but personally I think she fits better a sister to him?? That would make a lot more sense to me, and would also provide us with some fun sibling rivalry opportunities without butchering either of their characters. It would also give more of a back-story to Langemann and a better way to explore his character if that's what they really wanted.
🏴‍☠️ Pelle and Pysa is also done dirty in the series I think. They become more of a comic relief, but it's not done with that same taste as in the shows, instead putting more emphasis on that they are gross and stupid - just lazy comedy. In the shows they have more of a personality and are just funnier without being complete morons and everyone being mean to them.
🏴‍☠️ In regards to the story and plot itself, it does feel a bit unnecessary as it is a prequel to the main shows and we do know the final outcome going in. To have made it better, they should have focused on something different than Pinky's main goal of becoming a part of Kaptein Sabeltann's crew. Especially when we know how that ends and where he ends up. It would have been more interesting to focus on Kaptein Sabeltann and his relation to the town of Abra and how he came to rule over it for example - maybe even some of the crew's raids and adventures and the relations between them. They also could have gone darker. And I do wish the songs were more prominent in the episodes because they are so iconic and part of what makes up the Kaptein Sabeltann universe.
🏴‍☠️ What I did like about the show was Kaptein Sabeltann's make-up and the new characters we were introduced to. Ravn and her parents are a great addition to Abra Havn, as well as the merchant and the new villains we see.
Since we’re doing Jekyll & Hyde headcanons (well, one other person on my dash is sorta doing that, but keeping in mind the size of the fandoms I gravitate towards, that’s already a crowd by my standards), and since it’s too hot to do anything except to slowly rotate your favourite characters around in your mind, I thought to write down some of my Jekyll and Utterson headcanons, anno domini 2022.
I guess these are the vibes I’d like to get from my ultimate dream musical production... and if we’re not getting that, at least this is how things are in my personal imaginary world based on the musical!
Jekyll:
First of all, man, is this character hard to make any sense of. I’ve been at it for the nine years now and I’m still struggling.
I think the musical character is, in some ways, opposite of the character in the original novel: whereas the novel character creates Hyde basically so he can do all the depraved things he wants without getting caught, I think for the musical character, Hyde is a way to overcome his own inhibitions and feelings of shame about all the depraved things he secretly wants to do. Not getting caught is a secondary issue to him. I don’t think the musical’s text 100% supports this, but for me, it’s the interpretation that makes the most sense.
Has internalized a lot of the moralizing bullshit of the Victorian era. Genuinely believes he has to act like a Proper Victorian Gentleman, 1. to be taken seriously as a scientist, and 2. so people won’t think he’s going insane like his father did before him. Probably judges himself harder than others in this respect, because he feels like he has a lot to prove.
Too bad that personality-wise, he’s a chaotic, spontaneous, passionate kind of person and finds it practically impossible to constantly keep up appearances and reign in his temper. He keeps giving into his impulses and doing less-than-respectable things that he enjoys but deeply regrets later on, way before Hyde ever steps into the picture.
The thing that hooks Jekyll to being Hyde is how Hyde has zero regrets. As Hyde, he can kill and maim and have all the kinky sex and whatever he’s ever dreamed of, without thoughts about how he’s risking his reputation ever crossing his mind. Too bad that when the effect of the potion wears off, those worries and regrets immediately come back.
A very selfish person that rarely does anything that doesn’t benefit himself somehow. Sure, his big thing is that he’s trying to heal his father and come up with this miracle medicine that removes evil from the world – but that’s hardly motivated by pure benevolence. He also thinks about the way the medicine would help him reign in his own secret desires, and all the fame and fortune that would come along with creating a breakthrough innovation. I also like the idea that a friend shared with me once, how he’s afraid of inheriting his father’s illness and even passing it on to his future children, and thus wants to come up with a cure before his marriage.
In the modern day, maybe he would identify as bisexual and be able to admit that monogamy simply isn’t his cup of tea. In canon era, however, he’s in complete denial about both of these things and tries to shut down his attraction to men and his fear of commitment. (I’m headcanoning him as sorta non-committal by nature because Emma is practically perfect for him, and still, he runs off to cheat on her with Lucy the first chance he gets. That’s something that’s always been hard for me to justify when thinking about the musical, unless it’s commitment/monogamy itself that irks him and not Emma.)
Besides loving him as a friend (and kinda taking him as granted as one), probably thinks Utterson is pretty hot and has had his share of inappropriate dreams about him. Would never consider committing to him in any romantic sense, however.
Utterson:
Has also internalized a lot of the moralizing bullshit of the Victorian era, but mostly in regards to things like gender and class relations.
A pretty non-judgemental person when it comes to personal failings, both towards himself but especially towards others. Works with the law and has a lot of respect for it, but doesn’t think it’s correct 100% of the time. Thinks everyone deserves a second chance. Judge not lest ye be judged.
Attracted to men, and all things considered, pretty chill about that. Can’t really see how it’s such a bad thing as long as everyone involved is on the same page and consents to whatever’s going on, knows that there are couples out there who have made it work and built a life together. Instead, his big crisis is that there’s only room for one man in his heart, and that man doesn’t love him back.
Has known Jekyll for a long time and has been in love with him for almost as long. Doesn’t think he has a chance with him, but at the same time, is unable to let go of a small hope that someday, somehow, they’ll be together. The kind of person who believes in soulmates, which, considering his situation, is probably not a great thing for him – he thinks Jekyll is The One for him, and the thought of pursuing a relationship with someone else doesn’t really cross his mind (or if it does, it doesn’t feel right). In modern terms, maybe he’d identify as gay and demisexual.
The way he thinks about Jekyll is very possessive, jealous and borderline obsessed. At the same time, he’s terrified of making the wrong move and alienating him, so he’s very careful in his actual words and actions.
Has very complicated feelings about Emma: hates her for taking Jekyll away from him, has a certain respect for her because of her intellect and quick-wittedness, also regards her as a delicate flower in need of masculine protection due to aforementioned internalized Victorian bullshit. On some better timeline, would be friends with her.
In general, a pretty boring/basic guy with some pretty boring/basic hobbies. Enjoys things like going to bed early on most days, traveling by train, and staying out of trouble. Has a penchant for puns and a sarcastic streak, though.
However, if he ends up sleeping with Hyde (dear Mr. Wildhorn & team: now that you’re once again reworking the musical, please consider making this canon), he’s going to find out that being with a man he knows is capable of murder turns him on like nothing he could’ve imagined.
Likes theatre but never goes to see a show again after Jekyll’s death.
𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐌𝐄 | 𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐲𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢
"𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤."
life as a young manager of the bouncing ball corporation has become bland. staring at the same blank walls, writing until your hand cramps- everything that normal people wanted is seen as mundane in her eyes. she needed a change of scenery- and that's where mitsuya takashi comes in.
09. comfort
Tumblr media
"please don't be shy to take anything that you want, we can always order seconds."
both the captains and vice-captains of toman were all seated at a long table with a whole buffet sitting right in front of them.
the young manager was sitting beside mitsuya, gesturing towards the mountains of food that she had ordered as the others all dug in- that being baji and mikey who had no shame in taking a portion from each dish.
if anyone was wondering why would y/n go out of her way for mitsuya's friends- well it was because she viewed this as some sort of apology from her to the group.
since she and f/n went to the shrine unannounced and, in baji's words 'making us feel fucking single here'- the (h/c) haired girl thought that treating them to a little snack would suffice as an apology gift.
they would have gotten that little snack if it weren't for mikey and kawata nahoya telling that they were hungry out loud- leading them to change course and just head out to a restaurant nearby.
"y/n... you didn't have to do this you know." the lilac-haired male sweatdropped as he looked at his friends who were too busy indulging themselves in the food they were given.
the (h/c) haired female hummed and looked at him, chewing at a piece of meat that made her cheeks all puffed out.
mitsuya chuckled at this, making the female swallow and glare at him.
"don't laugh at me- the meat here is better to eat when it's still hot." she explained, poking up some of the meat from her plate and placed it in front of mitsuya's mouth.
"and as for this whole dinner, don't worry about it." unsure lavender eyes scanned the female's smiling face as he reluctantly opened his mouth, immediately feeling the savory meat that she's been talking about.
it was sweet and tender- something that he wasn't used to eating since his family couldn't afford such high quality meat to eat.
"tasty, right?" y/n asked, eyes softening at him as mitsuya nodded- the male was taking his time savoring every bite that he's taking.
a cough interrupted their moment as the young manager looked over to nahoya, who looked annoyed even with a smile on his face.
"i didn't mean to interrupt your lil lovey-dovey sesh- but we kinda want to get to know the person who treated us this wonderful dinner."
everyone around them agreed, f/n just nodding in her place as she stuffed her face with side dishes.
(e/c) eyes widened in guilt as she quickly apologized with a smile on her face- mitsuya never taking his eyes off her even if she was focused on others.
it was at moments like this that mitsuya thoroughly appreciated how kindhearted the female was- but strong-willed at the same time.
maybe that's the reason why he fell for her in the first place.
"i'm sorry everyone, i didn't notice that i was making my guests uncomfortable." she said, making draken wave her off to tell her that it's alright.
"mitsuya has told us a lot about you- but we wanted to know more about you personally." mikey piped in, sending a teasing smile at his lilac-haired friend who irked in his seat.
not gonna lie, mitsuya never wanted y/n to meet his friends except for that one time a week ago where they were late for a meeting- because of this exact reason that they would embarrass him in front of the young manager.
he mentally prepared himself for what she has to say.
but instead of receiving a negative backlash from the female, y/n let out a small laugh as she covered her mouth to try and stifle them up.
"is that so? then please ask me any questions and i'll try to answer them."
everyone- even f/n, was shocked at how open the female was being right now.
first, she treated them to a literal buffet, then she wasn't opposed to answering a few personal questions just because nahoya was being sarcastic.
"you don't have to answer them all." mitsuya tiredly sighed, not taking any of his friend's bullshit right now. however, all y/n ever did was laugh and waved it off.
"it's fine! i want your friends to like me anyway, so why not let them ask a few questions?"
the lilac haired male wanted to get mad at his friends for the young manager- but he couldn't help but grow soft when the (h/c) haired girl smiled at him.
god, when he said that he was whipped he had never thought that he'd be in this deep.
mitsuya knew that there was no stopping the girl and just sighed, propping his chin up on his palm as he looked at the female with the softest expression.
"alright, but just a few."
"man stop making us feel single over here." baji was about to throw his spoon at the second division captain if it weren't for chifuyu who stopped him.
y/n turned back to the rest of them and smiled, coaxing them to start their questions as she waited for them.
"what school do you go to?" draken was the first to ask, finishing on his first plate as he reached for the shrimps for seconds.
"i go to shiratorizawa junior high school."
those who were eating choked at the mention of the school as mitsuya and f/n started handing out waters for them, baji simply watching his friends choke on their food.
"shiratorizawa? what's that?" poor hakkai was confused at why everyone was reacting that way towards the school, making chifuyu look at him with wide eyes.
"you don't know what that school is? it's one of the most expensive ones there is here in tokyo!"
everyone turned to look at the young manager who was busy sipping on her water, clearing her throat for another round of questioning.
"what does your parents do for a living?" mitsuya immediately turned to mutou with furrowed brows, albeit uncomfortable that he had asked such a private question.
"oi-" y/n held her hand out to calm him, simply smiling at him before turning to the fifth division captain.
"my father is the owner of the bouncing ball corporation- i stand by him as the manager. i don't know where my mother is at right now, but the last time we met she told me that she was working as a waitress in miyagi."
the (h/c) haired female smiled at mutou, silently asking him if her answer had satisfied him as the male uncomfortably shifted in his seat.
everyone wondered how she can keep the smile on her face despite telling them something kind off depressing.
"is that all?" she asked, looking at them with a wondering gaze as the boys looked at one another.
"if you're living good, then why'd you run away?" they all looked at sanzu with a complicated look on their faces as the male simply chewed on his sushi.
mitsuya looked at y/n who hummed at the question, wondering how she was feeling right now.
"sanzu haruchiyo, did i say it right?" the strawberry-haired male nodded his head.
"sanzu, do you think that just because you have the money means that you already own the world?" her (e/c) eyes held nothing but fierceness that she tried covering up.
f/n eyed mitsuya, gesturing for the male to watch out for her friend.
"i may have been born with a wealthy father, but i'm the one who makes my own money by running the company- and making money isn't as easy as counting your alphabets."
the young manager sat straight and looked at the fifth division vice captain.
"being born with a wealthy father comes not only the title but also the expectations. the reason why i ran away tonight was that my father said some horrible things about mitsuya and my mother."
"you don't have to continue if you're not comfortable with it." mikey said, nodding in understanding at the female who smiled at him.
"thank you but it's alright- as i was saying, when my father voiced out his thoughts on mitsuya, i talked back at him for the first time since i started running the company. because of this, he wanted to punish me- teach me my lesson, but i ran away with f/n to go look for mitsuya at the shrine where you guys were."
mitsuya's eyes widened as the young manager finished telling the story, guilt eating him up because he was the reason why y/n had to run away from home.
the table was tense, everyone not knowing what to do as the lilac-haired male repeatedly apologized in his head.
a warm hand snaked its way to his arm, rubbing soothing circles over them as y/n leaned to whisper on his ear.
"please don't feel guilty about it. let me stick up for you- you deserve it." mitsuya can feel the smile on her face as she leaned back, smiling sweetly at the male as she turned to nahoya who decided to break the awkward tension.
"so like- you're like a criminal now?"
"what the fuck-" draken stuffed a piece of meat inside mikey's mouth to stop him from cussing out.
f/n looked at the peach-haired male with a look of disbelief while y/n just tilted her head in confusion.
"you know, since you ran away from your father, cussed him out, and went to mitsuya- anyone get it?" the (h/c) haired girl took a minute to understand what he meant before laughing.
"then if she's the criminal, what's mitsuya's role?" baji and chifuyu looked at each other and shrugged, turning to nahoya who was thinking hard for what mitsuya could be in his scheme.
"mitsuya's my favorite crime!" everyone turned to mitsuya who had a blush on his face.
"y/n what are you saying?"
y/n looked at him with bright eyes that made his heart skip a beat.
"i'd run away from my father anytime- if that means that i'll end up in your arms. like a criminal, i'll run away from the authorities if that means that i'll return to you."
My family and I stood outside of a door, today being the day that I meet my birth family. I fiddled with my fingers nervously, the front door of the small, cottage like house being the only thing separating me from meeting them.
"Are you ready, little listener?" I looked at the ground and shakily nodded, slightly worried about how this might go.
Slowly, I raised my fist and knocked on the door, on the second knock, the wooden panel flung open to reveal Fumikoto. Her black hair was pulled back in a neat bun and she looked excited as she quickly pulled me into a hug. I tensed up but stiffly hugged her back.
"Hi Fumikoto." I mumbled out, still on edge with her since the last time I saw her.
"Hi, honey. It's so nice to see you again, and please, call me Azuna or Auntie, we are family after all. Come in, come in, everyone's here." She spun on her heel and I sent my family members a cautious look, unnerved at her adamancy on how I address her. We all followed her inside and I held my bag closer to my body, my breathing turning slightly shakier at the reality of it all. "Mom, Dad, this is Onryo." I awkwardly waved at the elderly couple sat in the living room. The man was bald with very prominent crows feet and thin, rectangular glasses. The woman had short, gray hair and half moon glasses perched on her nose.
"Who are the others?" The older man asked and I cautiously took a step back.
"I'm Aizawa Shouta, this is my husband Yamada Hizashi, we're Onryo's parents. This is our other son, Shinsou Hitoshi." The man gave a small nod before finally turning to me.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you. My name is Ren and this is my wife, Keiko." The older man stood up and hobbled over to me, pulling me into a hug, followed by his wife, and I finally saw where I got my height from. This man was shorter then me by a small amount.
"It's nice to meet you too." I said back hesitantly.
"Boys! Come here please!" Fumikoto called into another room. I looked in the direction she yelled towards and watched a man with brown hair and a small boy on his hip walk in. "This is my husband, Yuto and our son, Sota." I waved awkwardly and glanced at my brother.
"Onryo?" My head snapped back to the doorway and I saw a man with hazel eyes and ginger curls standing there.
"Shikadai?" I asked in return, fully understanding where I got my looks from. Unfortunately, Fumikoto hadn't been lying, I look a lot like him. His eyes watered and he pulled me into a tight, warm hug. I awkwardly hugged him back, my body tense from everyone being so physically affectionate.
"I can't believe I'm finally meeting you. You must be his family." He turned towards everyone beside me and I spaced out for a moment, completely overwhelmed within the first five minutes. A familiar hand delicately placed itself on my back and I looked to Dad with wide eyes.
We're going to head out for a little while, we'll be back at five to pick you both up. Do you have everything you need? Dad asked slowly and I rapidly nodded. Okay, call one of us if either of you need something.
Okay. I love you.
He gave a rare, soft smile and we all bid our goodbyes. My brother and I standing in the same spot for a moment, not knowing what to do.
This is awkward.
Yeah. Are you okay?
I think so. Still kinda on edge.
"It's so cool that you all know sign language." Yuto commented as he sipped on a drink.
"Thank you, everyone in our family is fluent in it." I commented hesitantly, not wanting to irk anyone by calling my family what they are.
"I assume it's because of your quirk, your hearing starts to fade after a while." Shikadai commented.
"Yeah, it doesn't help that I have hearing aids already but I started learning when I was probably six." I rubbed the back of my neck, starting to regret coming here.
"You boys can sit down, don't be strangers." Azuna told us in a playful tone, clearly trying to break the tension. My brother and I sat down on some of the chairs that were pulled out from the dining room and I tugged my sleeves down to my palms. "Onryo, I owe you an apology for how I went about things a few weeks ago. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone about it the way I did. It wasn't right of me." I curtly nodded.
"I understand why you did, if it was Hitoshi calling me I would jump to help him despite any logic. Toshi, if I get arrested at any point, you're my phone call." He rolled his eyes and bumped my shoulder.
"Same to you."
"Onryo, I'm sorry for how our daughter has turned out. I swear we raised her better then that." Keiko said softly and I anxiously tugged my lip between my teeth.
"Can I ask.. about the uh, history of everything? If I'm being blunt, I know the bare minimum. I know she turned to drugs and at some point, I guess Shikadai broke up with her, but that's all I really know." Everyone looked at each other, silently communicating the hard truth.
"Yuto, would you mind taking Sota into the other room to play?" The man nodded, placing a kiss on his wife's head before taking their baby to a different room. "Who would like to start?"
"She was always a happy girl." Keiko started, eyes already watering behind her crescent glasses. "So bright and full of life." Keiko said as she got up and walked a ways away, coming back with a framed picture of a girl with long, dark brown hair and shining green eyes. "That was her in her second year of high school." My eyes darted around the image, not being able to focus on it without seeing her attacking me.
"We met in junior high." I turned to look at Shikadai. His voice heavy as he spoke. "We were friends for a while until I finally worked up the courage to confess to her. We were together from the time we were seventeen to the time we were twenty three."
"So, when she got pregnant with me." He nodded, clearly not a fan of this topic.
"I didn't know she was pregnant with you, but yes. The first few years were great, we were young and in love. When we turned twenty, I proposed and we were engaged. She kept the drugs hidden from me for almost two years. I thought she was just trying out those fad diets and having too much fun after classes in college. I never thought... I never thought she was using opioids. I found out after she called to have me bail her out, Azuna didn't pick up and your grandparents had gotten to a point where they could only help so much. I tried getting her into rehab, counseling, narcotics anonymous. When who you're trying to help is an adult though, there's only so much you can do. It wasn't a healthy relationship, but at the time, I didn't care, I still loved her. She would berate me, attack me, you name it, she did it. Yuto here, is my best friend and I'm pretty much the reason him and Azuna got together. One night, she told me she hated me and that we were done, I packed a duffel and went to Yuto's house. Azuna told me Shiroka was pregnant, and I confronted her. She told me I wasn't the father and filed a false restraining order against me. Azuna texted me when you were born, a full head of ginger hair, but I couldn't go see you. By the time I talked to a lawyer so I could sign your birth certificate and be with you, you were already in the system and nobody could tell me where you were. I got in touch with Kasumi when you were four and requested a DNA test, but she wouldn't allow it. With my living situation at the time, I wouldn't have been allowed to adopt you. I'm not proud of it, but I gave up, I just hoped you would have a good enough family one day. Then I saw you in the Sports Festival and you were amazing, I was so proud to see how much you've grown up." I looked at him intently, not knowing that he stayed updated on me for a while. But it raised more questions.
"Why didn't you reach out after any of the times you heard about me?" My voice was weak, quiet and trembling as I asked one of the questions I'd been waiting so long to. My eyes watered slightly, all the emotions I'd been feeling starting to build up at once.
"Onryo, I wanted to, we all did. I told them not to because I didn't want you to feel pressured or overwhelmed. We always wanted to reach out and see the day you'd come home, but we knew you were adopted and had your own family." The moment he mentioned me coming home, my body went into fight or flight mode but the only thing I could was freeze. My breathing turning shallow and I felt like an animal at the zoo.
"Can we have a minute?" My brother asked, Keiko nodding sweetly and directing him towards a different room. I couldn't even make it to the room though, my breathing growing ragged as I slid down the hall wall. "Hey, look at me. You're safe, nothings gonna happen." I stared at my brother, hoping it would help but nothing seemed to be doing the trick. We tried everything but I couldn't slow my breathing enough to respond. Next thing I knew, his phone started buzzing, showing that Denki was calling. My brother gave me a single nod and gestured to the phone he placed in my shaking hands. I slowly answered and heard the beep.
"Hey, pretty boy. My job right now is to just distract you per Shinsou's request. Hanta gave me a rubix cube to try and solve, it didn't happen.. I ended up just taking the stickers off and moving them around. I gave it back to him the next day and he was confused so he messed it all up again. So today I asked Yao-momo to make me a few brand new ones and she did, so let the pranking commence." I let out a puff of air as a weak laugh. "Hey, take some deep breaths with me, yeah? Don't think about anything else that's going on over there. In. And out. Great job, Ryo. Do you wanna tell me or Shinsou what happened?" I sniffled and wiped my eyes, taking more shaky breaths.
"He said th-that they couldn't wait to see the day I'd come home and all I could picture was Shiroka." Hitoshi nodded and rubbed my back while the line was silent for a bit.
"Well they aren't taking you anywhere. I promise." I slowly nodded and worked on keeping my breathing level. "How're you feeling?"
"Better, I guess. I'm gonna let Toshi have his phone back though, but thank you." He hummed softly and we said our goodbyes, my brother gently taking his phone from me and waiting patiently for me to be ready. Once I was, we made our way back out to the living room.
"Oh you boys are both right on time, we were about to head back there and see if you two were ready to eat. Your grandmothers special kenchinjiru just finished simmering for some time, are you both hungry?" Azuna asked excitedly and I politely nodded, my brother doing the same. "Perfect, you both can go wash up." Hitoshi and I both washed our hands and set our places at the table, sitting with everyone. My brother was on my left and Shikadai sat on my right, followed by Yuto, Azuna and their son, and my grandparents.
"So, would you mind filling me in on the last fifteen years of your life? I feel like I have so much to catch up on." Shikadai asked softly, clearly not wanting to over step.
"Uh, I guess the largest thing is I lost most of my hearing. My family is amazing, honestly. Hitoshi's the best brother I could ask for and our Dad's are amazing." I wanted to smack myself in the face for how tense I made the atmosphere become. Everyone's mood plummeted for the most part aside from Toshi's and Sota, however the child had an excuse since he was happily oblivious to what was going on as he played with his spoon.
"How did you lose your hearing? You're still pretty young, thought I should've beat you to the punch." Ren said in a light tone, uplifting the mood significantly. So I went on to explain what happened.
"We saw that on the news, I'm glad you found how to make our quirk useful for hero work." Shikadai told me softly. I gave him a gentle smile despite how perturbed I was at him calling it 'our quirk'.
"What else have we missed? I feel like we still need to know so much more about you." Keiko mused delicately, eyes shining behind her glasses.
"Well, since he won't tell you anything, I suppose I will." My brother drawled out. "We both know english and sign language, but Onryo is also fluent in spanish, and is pretty good at speaking french and italian. He's gotten into a fight, we even made a code name for when he gets mad. He's extremely talented at playing instruments and singing, he got his IQ tested by Principal Nedzu and scored a 148. We have two cats and are slowly adjusting to the dorms." They all stared at us in disbelief, not expecting my brother to give them a crash course in my life. Fumikoto gave us a small look, acting like there was something else we should say until it clicked. "Whatever detail you're thinking isn't necessary, what I said was the important stuff." She gave him a tight lipped smile and nodded.
"Well, I know I would love to hear all about it." Shikadai said happily. So we explained as we ate, answering questions I've had to before with my friends, all of them perplexed at what we told them.
We eventually moved back to the living room, Sota wobbling up to me on unsteady, chubby legs and sticking his arms out with a grin. I gave him a small smile and lifted him up, setting him on my legs. His tiny hands moved up and explored my face, giggling away cheerfully as he pinched and prodded at my skin, small bits of baby babbling slipping into the mix. I couldn't stop the grin spreading across my face as he did so, even as he curiously rubbed a finger over my scars.
"You're a natural with kids, Onryo. He's usually more closed off with new people." Fumikoto said in a delicate tone, not wanting to disturb the atmosphere.
"I've been around a lot of kids growing up, for some reason I'm good with them." I responded through bits of laughter.
"If you don't mind me asking, how'd you get those scars on your face, son?" Ren asked gently, clearly not wanting to strike a nerve.
"The one on my nose I got when I was eight, bad foster home. The one down my neck I, uh, got while I was kidnapped." I rushed out the words and scooped up Sota, moving us to the floor to play with him.
However, the movement made him erupt into a fit of giggles and he made grabby hands again. So I laid on my back and held him above me, lifting him up and down at different speeds while he continued his slew of laughter. What I wasn't prepared for, was the small bit of spit up flying onto my shirt after we sat up again.
"Shoot, I'm sorry about that, I thought he'd be okay because it's been a while since his last meal." Yuto apologized as he came over and picked up his son, Shikadai standing and slowly offering a hand. I looked at it quizzically but accepted his offer and let him help me up.
"No worries, I wasn't thinking about the bit of motion sickness he could get." I held my shirt between pinched fingers, the small stain feeling uncomfortable on my body.
"Let's get you a shirt to change into. I have some clothes that should fit you." Shikadai said to me, jutting his head in a direction to follow him. I glanced back at my brother, waiting for his nod of approval before following my birth father down the hallway and into a different room. He rifled through a drawer and held up a black t-shirt, comparing its size to my body before nodding in his own approval. "This should fit you, I'll leave a few others out for you just in case." I nodded lightly, not knowing how else to respond in that moment. He walked out and shut the door behind him.
I slipped into the black t-shirt but his measurements were slightly off. While we were about the same height, I had more muscle mass and I didn't want to wear a form fitting shirt. So after a thorough check in the dresser mirror, I slipped out of it and grabbed the light blue shirt he left out. I looked at myself in the mirror after I got it on, staring judgmentally at my exposed skin. Much like the black shirt, it hugged my form like a second skin and I slowly pulled it off. I fiddled with the next shirt for a moment, an army green long sleeve that looked to be on the slightly larger side. However, I froze when I felt a set of eyes on me. My head snapped in the direction of the door and I saw Shikadai standing there in disbelief with watery eyes.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to barge in, I knocked but there wasn't an answer." He said apologetically.
"It's okay, if you knocked soft I probably didn't hear it, it's one of the things I struggle picking up with my hearing aids." I explained awkwardly, rushing to pull the shirt over my head.
"Can I ask what happened?" I busied my hands by folding the clean shirts while swallowing the lump in my throat.
"Shitty foster homes, the care coordinator at the adoption center and uh, you're ex. Plus some others in the League of Villans." His face fell further and I awkwardly stared at the floor.
"Gods, I- I'm so sorry Onryo. I am so sorry." I shook my head and fidgeted with the sleeves.
"It's not your fault, you weren't the one who did it." He wiped his eyes and ran a hand through his hair.
"Still, if I was just faster and filed for parental rights then none of this would have happened." I shifted from one foot to the other.
"You said it yourself, with the situation you were in, I was bound to end up in the system. Can't change the past." He sniffled slightly and solemnly nodded his head.
"Can I give you a hug?" I gave him a slow nod and before I could process what was going on, he was already hugging me tightly. Hesitantly, I wrapped my arms around him and waited for him to step away. "I'm going to be honest with you. I want to be more involved in your life. I want to keep in touch with you and see you more often. But I understand if you aren't ready for that. I know it must be a lot for you and I'm not expecting you to call me 'Dad' or anything. I just, I want to be there." We both migrated to the bed and sat there as I processed his words.
"I don't know yet, honestly. I'm still processing everything." He fiddled with his fingers beside me.
"There's... there's a lot that I have to make up to you. And it'll probably be impossible with everything you've been through, but if you're okay with it eventually, I want to try. I don't blame you if you ever hated me or if you do still. I can carry the blame, I accept my responsibility for what happened." I rubbed the back of my neck as he spoke.
"I never hated you. I was angry for a while, because of how much I didn't know. But I don't hate you." He sat there for a moment, clearly digesting my words.
"That's fair. You're right to be angry for whatever you've been through. And at me for being absent for fifteen years." He dried his remaining tears and tried to compose himself. "We should probably get back out there, I know everyone else wants to spend as much time with you as possible." I nodded lightly, saying a quiet agreement and following him back out to the living room. He took my dirtied shirt and threw it in the washer while I met everyone else back in the living room.
Everything alright?
Yeah.
You okay?
I think so.
Sota came back over to me and grabbed my moving hands curiously, babbling away about something.
"Uh, how old is Sota?" I asked curiously.
"He's eleven months old, he turns a year old next month. Speaking of, we actually wanted to invite you to his birthday party. We'd love to see you there, it's going to be October twentieth. His birthday is the twenty fifth. Plus you would get to meet more of the family, more aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. You're great with Sota, I'm sure you'd do great with the other kids in the family." As difficult as it was, I tried to control my facial reactions and kept a neutral expression as Azuna talked.
"I'll let you know, depends on my school schedule and whatnot." I managed to get out, not wanting to step on any toes.
"Well, if you want, we can always do a smaller one for you and Sota, kind of a conjoined one. You two are only seven days apart after all." She tacked on and I sent a tight lipped smile while Sota started clapping my hands together. The small action effectively making me laugh a little, in turn making Sota smile.
"Uh, I'll think about it and let you guys know, I don't know how tests and things are gonna look then." I weakly stated. My brother nodded his head in my direction.
Dad texted me, he asked me to tell you to check your phone.
Shit, I haven't checked it in a while.
He's not gonna be upset. Why are you acting so different though?
Not right now.
Bro talk later?
Bro talk later.
"You really like watching me sign, don't you?" I asked Sota, my voice lilted a bit, my hands moving as I spoke. "Yeah, maybe one day you'll get to learn sign language, too. I think you'd like that." I said to the baby cheerfully, smiling brightly as he held my moving hands while squeal-shriek-giggling. The sound making me wince at the whining feedback in my hearing aids.
"Everything alright, honey?" Keiko asked from her rocking chair.
"Yeah, just the feedback in my hearing aids is a little harsh." I explained briefly as I waited for it to end. Sota was still giggling happily, oblivious to my previous discomfort.
"Onryo." My brother said. I hummed and turned towards him. "Check your phone."
"Oh right, I forgot, sorry." I rushed out and detangled one of my hand to grab my phone.
To Drowzee: I'm okay, better then earlier. Tempted to leave early and say a family emergency came up though
To Jangmo-o: It's going okay I guess, it's kind of a lot though
From Drowzee: If you'd like to, we can. Sunshine and I can be there in ten minutes.
Do you think they would be upset if we left early? I'm getting drained and kind of overstimulated.
They'll probably be bummed no matter what time we leave. I say we try and tough it out at least another half hour so it's not like 'hey we got here at one and leaving at three but we were supposed to leave at five, sorry'.
You got a point I guess. I don't want to offend anyone, everything's just a lot right now. My brain just feels like this big puddle of goop.
We can head out whenever you're ready.
I let out a deep breath and nodded, going back to playing with Sota and holding small talk but I couldn't help but realize Shikadai's intense gaze on me.
I can't tell if you're looking at me like that because you're still freaked out that we look a lot alike or because you know sign language and are trying to figure out a way to bring it up without saying you were eavesdropping.
I guess both. He signed back and my eyes widened drastically.
Noted.
If you need to leave to take care of yourself, that's okay. Sure, we'll be bummed that we didn't get to see you longer but if you're drained and overwhelmed, the best thing you can do is go home.
Are you sure?
Of course, Onryo.
I nodded slowly and texted back Dad to let him know. My brother already watching the conversation so he was prepared.
"Hey everyone, Onryo isn't feeling too good right now, so he's going to head home early." Shikadai announced for me, something I was silently thankful for. Everyone seemed slightly upset that I was leaving so soon, but also sympathetic towards it.
We all bid our goodbyes and all but rushed out to our parents car. I buckled my seat belt and curled my legs up to my chest, resting my chin on my knees and looking out the window. Tears already welling in my eyes
"Onryo? Is everything okay?" Dad asked gently. I nodded and wiped the tears.
"What's wrong, little listener?" Pops asked, turning in his seat to look at me better.
"I'm not... I'm not angry anymore, I'm not angry at Shikadai and I've been mad at him for so many years, I don't know how to feel. I spent so many years blaming him, just to find out none of it was really his fault." My voice broke slightly and I harshly rubbed at my face. Hitoshi scooted over and wrapped an arm around me, letting me rest on his shoulder.
"Its okay to not know how you feel after that, it's a lot to take in." I nodded a little and swallowed the lump in my throat. "Aside from that, anything else happen?"
"They're all.. very persistent on me being around more, they even invited me to Sota's birthday party to meet more of my bio family and when I said I wasn't sure, Fumikoto kept pushing and asked if maybe we could do a small conjoined party for me and Sota. Keiko and Ren were nice, Yuto didn't really say much to me. It was all just, a lot. And Shikadai saw my scars, so that didn't help anything." Everyone shot me a confused glance. "Uh, I had to change my shirt cause Sota spit up a little bit on me and I didn't hear him knocking so he walked in to make sure I was okay." I briefly summed up. "I don't know what I want to do, it's a lot to take in and a lot of change and I'm happy with our family already. It's weird, seeing how differently they live from us. It feels like some of them just made excuses for why I grew up in the system, like they didn't care enough to try. Like I wasn't important enough to put in the effort. I'd go through foster care again if it meant we stayed family, I just wanna know why I wasn't worth the effort for them." I said in a shaky voice, another wave of tears making a path down my face.
"Onryo, you are more than worth it. It's not your fault that it took them fifteen years to want to try at all." Pops told me, reaching an arm to the back seat to hold my hand in his. "We would go through dealing with Kasumi again and again if it meant getting to be both of your dads." I coughed out a small laugh and tried to dry my eyes.
"Pops, I don't know what to do." My voice wobbled and my lip trembled at the confession. His features softened drastically and I could tell that caught off guard. I had always to be as independent as possible so I wouldn't be a burden, and here I was silently asking for help.
"It's okay. You aren't expected to know right now, it's a big decision with a lot going into it. Whatever you choose, we'll have your back and we won't be upset. Promise." I nodded my head, sniffling from crying so much today. I shut my eyes tight, hoping if I did, all the problems would go away for a moment. I stayed like that for the rest of the car ride, despite it not actually working.
"Do you want to come back to Pops and I's or go to the dorms?" Dad asked as we drove through the entrance to the dorms.
"I think I just wanna spend some time by myself right now." I mumbled out, trying my hardest to ignore the itch creeping across my skin. Everyone simply nodded and we said our goodbyes. My brother and I walked in the front door and were quickly bombarded by our friends.
"Tsukababes! What was it like! Were they nice? Mean? Weird?" She was practically bouncing where she stood and while I normally adored how much energy she had, today I was completely drained.
"They were okay." I stated plainly.
"Hey, ¿estás bien?" Hanta asked lightly, I gave him a small nod and stuck my hands in my pockets, my head tilting down towards the floor. I could feel Denki staring at me quizzically, my brother doing the same. "Y'know what I think would be great tonight? We should watch a movie! Either down here or in my room cause I brought a TV. What do you guys think?" He could barely finish his words before Mina and Kirishima cheered in excitement. Denki following suit before everyone turned to my brother and I. "Lo siento, pero no tienes voz en esto, amigo." (Sorry, but you don't have a say in this, dude.) I sighed but nodded my head, knowing he was more looking out for me then anything.
"If I'm going then you are too." I told my brother and watched him shrug.
Genshin x fem!reader [Volleyball Team AU - Inspired by Haikyuu!] He introduces S/O to the team
Before you read this, might be a good idea to read the introduction first. To give you the whole low-down of the team and their dynamicsssss.
Other works in the Volleyball Team AU Series: Click Here
Scenario: You and him have been dating for a while now. Why does the team not know and what’s their reaction in finding out/when he introduces you?
Warnings: AU if that’s not your thing then don’t read, not proofread...as usual.
#1 Zhongli (Captain/Wing Spiker/Ace)
You’ve been dating for nearly 5 months at this point. Beforehand the two of you were close friends. So the team kind of already knew you guys were close, but you’d never met the team properly.
It’s not that he was HIDING your relationship, its that he didn’t want to pressure you into meeting his team. They could really be an overwhelming bunch of high schoolers sometimes.
As it happens he walks to the gym hand in hand with you one day, his other hand on his duffel sports bag, thinking that he’d be the earliest one there as always.
But when he slides the gym doors open his WHOLE TEAM greets him “CAPTAIN!” and then there’s an awkward silence that descends as they all catch him with his hand intertwined with yours.
KAEYA AND TARTAGLIA LOSES IT. “C-Captain, you had a girlfriend and didn’t tell us?!” “You finally made a move on her?!” “S’about time!”
Needless to say they both get knocked on the head by Zhongli’s fist.
Zhongli sighs and turns to you apologetically but you say that you don’t mind meeting them. He perks up and claps his hands to ask his team to line up.
They do so diligently. Kaeya, Tartaglia and Thoma are giddy while looking at you. Xiao and Kazuha have their mouth slightly agape as if you’re some kind of rare species. Diluc and Albedo stare you down.
You introduce yourself as Zhongli’s gilrfriend and as you do so Tartaglia’s eyes dart towards Zhongli who has a slightly shy expression on his face.
“Oh, oh question time!” Thoma raises his hand “Does the captain secretly eat sweets behind our back?” You haven’t even answered when Kaeya asks “Does the captain ever glare at you (he mimics Zhongli’s face) and say 10 Push ups NOW!” Surprisingly Diluc raises his hand too “...Is the captain strict with you too?”
Zhongli gets irked the more questions are asked and he finally steps in with an ominous presence. “10 laps around the gym...NOW!”
He apologizes to you again but you reassure him it’s totally fine and they all seem like such fun.
#2 Diluc (Vice Captain/Wing Spiker/Defense Specialist)
The vice captain is a very secretive guy.
Not even his brother knew.
It’s not that he was ashamed of you, he just liked his privacy and you already knew that.
But there was this one time where he forgot his textbooks under his desk and you had to go and give it to him while he was at practice.
Shyly looking into the door the first one that spots you is Albedo.
“...Do you need something?” you tense up at Albedo’s question and shakily hand him the textbooks.
“U-Uhm... D-Diluc’s...”
Albedo tilts his head and turns to shout at the team. “Someone’s looking for the vice captain,”
Everyone stops what they’re doing and snaps there head towards you.
Diluc jogs over, sweat still fresh on his forehead. Without thinking he takes the books from you, small smile on his face and thanks you.
The rest of his team freezes up all thinking: “Hold on, is he...SMILING?”
You’re oblivious to them staring and give him a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving. When Diluc turns back his team is glaring daggers at him, he stares back at them. Doesn’t say anything, and continues practice.
No one is brave enough to ask him about it.
Tartaglia whispers to Kaeya “You didn’t know about it either huh?”
#3 Kaeya (Middle Blocker)
This MF would talk about you whenever he had the chance.
Y/N this, Y/N that, Y/N is so cute.
Frankly the team is kinda tired of it.
But when you finally visit one of their practices the team levels their gaze at you and think “Oh shit, he wasn’t lying, she is actually cute,”
Sees his teammates expression and brags even more. “I know what y’all are thinking. You’re thinking, OH! She’s actually really cute! Hm?”
Slings an arm around you shamelessly with a grin. “Back off boys, I’ll block all your attempts,”
Diluc is the one that walks up to you and you blink at him. Kaeya blinks at him, confused as well.
Diluc suddenly bows, “I feel sorry for you but please take care of him,”
The rest of the team either bursts out laughing or snickers behind their hand.
Their vice captain is low key savage
#4 Albedo (Setter)
The team finds out about you cause when they finish practice they find you waiting outside the gym.
Kazuha asks politely while the others look on “Are you lost?”
You straighten up and stutter a little, “Ah, uh, no, I’m...” You’re at a loss for words.
Then Albedo suddenly appears from the gym doors and sees you. “Ah, were you waiting long? Sorry,”
Thoma tilts his head in question. “Albedo...Your sister?”
Albedo at this point was standing next to you already. “...No, my girlfriend,” like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Everyone is stunned into statues.
“H-How did you get one before me?” Tartaglia looks as if his soul had been sucked out of his body.
“Next time you can just come inside and wait inside the gym, it’s dark out here,” their responsible captain suggests and you’re amazed at his kindness and bow at him with a thank you.
Albedo doesn’t see what’s the big deal and just grabs your hand and starts walking away.
#5 Tartaglia (Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)
The team already knew since the first date. It’s because he.would.not.shut.up.about.it
That particular day at practice his spikes were a tad bit stronger than usual.
“Oi... you’re getting too excited...” Xiao mumbles at him. Tartaglia just grins and scratches the back of his head. “Aaaahhhh... I can’t help it, I’m so nervous for my date with Y/N!”
A few more dates later he starts showing off his phone wallpaper to the others. It’s a picture of you and him.
Kaeya tries to piss him off by saying, “Huh, we’ve never actually seen her in person. Maybe it’s photoshopped,” The others snicker.
Is so pissed, asks you to come immediately.
You thought it was an emergency so you come into the gym with a worried look on your face only to be hugged tight into his chest. “See? See? She’s totally real and totally cute!”
Albedo crosses his arms and blinks, then looks at Kaeya “...You totally baited him, he’s such a simpleton.”
Kaeya responds with a smirk “Right?”
#6 Kazuha (Decoy/Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)
The most formal out of all of them and even tells them seriously that he had an announcement to make.
Next day he comes into practice with you in tow.
Properly introduces you as his girlfriend.
Everyone is wide-eyed at how official it feels. Then you suddenly take out a big container of fruits and tell everyone it’s for them (The captain doesn’t allow sweets, he thinks it’ll fatten them up or some crap.)
EVERYONE IS BLESSED BY YOUR PRESENCE and Kazuha is just enjoying you getting along with them.
Kaeya and Tartaglia try to whisper and bribe you into making cookies for them.
Albedo and Xiao stares at Kazuha thinking ‘If someone like you can get a girlfriend, we can get one too, right?’
You offer to come back next time with more fruits and some secret cookies.
#7 Xiao (Libero)
Tried to keep it a secret because he knows his team will make a fuss about it.
The team finds out when his phone suddenly starts ringing in the middle of practice and he asks for a timeout to pick it up.
“Mm... Yeah... I’ll pick you up when I finish,” Everyone starts nudging each other when they hear him talk to you in an unusually calm and soft tone. So different from when he plays volleyball and gets angry at them.
By this point everyone tries to keep quiet and enlarge their ears to eavesdrop.
“Idiot... I won’t be late. I promised to take you out didn’t I?”
Hearing their tsundere libero say something so sweet makes everyone combust.
When he turns back everyone is staring at him with smirks on their faces. “Hey, why not just ask her to come here?” Kaeya sneakily suggests.
Xiao blushes “A-As if I’d let her near you bumbling fools!”
He was worried it would scare you away, actually.
#8 Tohma (Pinch Server/Middle Blocker)
Literally no one is surprised he has a girlfriend.
It would be MORE of a surprise if he DIDN’T have one.
But they find out cause he left his phone out on the bench one day and there’d been a text message while Xiao was conveniently sitting on the bench.
“...Tohma, someone me--” Xiao looks at the screen where the message ‘I love you!’ is clearly written.
Xiao is so curious but is not gunna admit it so he nudges Kaeya or Tartaglia who might be sitting next to him and secretly motions over to the phone.
They read it and ask in a real loud voice “Oi Tohma! Who’s Y/N? They said I love you!”
Tohma laughs nervously and since it’s already out he might as well introduce you.
“This is my princess,” he says when you enter the gym to walk home with him that afternoon. You bow and introduce yourself and everyone looks at you thinking... “Ah, they look like the perfect domestic couple,”
Low-key everyone is jealous of how you dote on him.
