((Here's part 2 of Yandere! Greek God x Mortal! Darking! And to answer your question, I have seen the amazing digital circus! I do not about murder drones, though. Is it interesting?))

The fates.

It was decided long ago that Ketos was to take a mortal woman as his wife. He was furious at first. 

He raged at sea for several days and nights, protesting the fates' decision. It was futile, though. Once something was decided, it was woven into the fabric of one's destiny, permanently bonded together. There was nothing one could do except to accept it.

Ketos couldn't do anything besides his fate. He did contemplate killing every mortal woman by flooding the lands, but it would have been foolish to do so. He didn't want to face the ire of Zeus, who would no doubt come down to smite him if any of his mortal or potential mortal lovers were harmed or killed.

It wasn't until the fates came down and told him the name of his future mortal wife. Things changed when out of his arrogant curiosity, he decided to leave his realm to seek her out. He wanted to see for himself if she was worthy enough to be his wife.

And once he saw her, he did not expect to fall as hard as he did.

She was beautiful, not as beautiful as Aphrodite, but beautiful enough to be his wife. Things he had not imagined before, back when he abhorred the thought of a mortal being his betrothed, hit him and carried him away like the waves crashing against the earth. 

He obsessed over her. Watching her from the sea everytime she took a walk along the sandy shore, taking on human forms to stalk her from afar, and even engaging in conversation with her in disguise just to hear what her voice sounds like among other things.

He had completely fallen for her. He decided the next time he saw her, he would come to her as himself and try to court her.

And well, their first meeting did not go as he had planned.

He had thought she would marvel at his magnificence. He was a God, for Zeus's sake! But she looked at him in fear. Distress plagued her beautiful features and he had no clue why. Surely, there was no reason why she would refuse a God like him, was there?

And so began an unique song and dance where he would try to court her, give her gifts, talk to her, all for it to be for naught! She refuses again and again.

And Ketos was starting to become angry...

How dare she refuse his love? She was his! The fates had already confirmed it! Her destiny lies and ends with him! 

He grew increasingly impatient until it came bubbling up one day and he snapped.

He was already in a terrible mood after facing so many of her rejections. He saw her dreadful look and grew tired of her pleas as she refused yet again. But this time, he was going to have her one way or another.

He lashed out, making the calm waves rage and the clouds above heavy and gray.

He threatened her with the lives of her family, along with all the other villagers she lived and grew up with. He didn't care about any of them! If it took killing everyone around her for her to be his, he would gladly do it. Even if she died in the process, all he would have to do is go to Hades and pluck her soul out of the Underworld so that she can finally be with him. And if he couldn't, he was a God. He had all the time in the world to wait for you to reincarnate and take you as his wife then.

Luckily, he didn't need to go that far. Though reluctant, she finally agreed to come to him! He was ecstatic. She took his hand and he praised her for choosing him. It didn't matter if she wasn't happy at first. He'll make her see the positive sides to being his betrothed. All his thoughts reverted back to all the things he wanted to do with her...

He would love and cherish her as they will soon be husband and wife. 

He was so happy to have her, his lovely wife.

((I think I may do a part 3 that's more of a look into their married life. Hope you enjoyed this one though!))

Well this is interesting. The new icons all seem to have location specific backgrounds, but Eddie’s is the same as Vecna’s. Yes in the show he died in the upside down, but he was with the Hawkins group the entire time! Why not give him that background? Why give him the same as Vecna? The questions keep piling up

Late to the party because I rolled out of bed about an hour ago  😂 I hope it's okay to sum these up in one post because they're all making the same, absolutely perfect point: the location-specific colors. But they're not really location-specific but more specific regarding which "team" the character belonged to 👀 As one of my lovely anons pointed out, El is green because she has her own story line, is her own team; Cali has yellow, the Russia Squad has blue, the Hawkins Heroes have purple. That’s definitely not a coincidence but a very well thought-out and intended pattern matching their individual POSTERS.

El, like her icon, is the only one with a green background because she's her own team this season, matching the theme of not belonging anywhere and feeling alone.

All the Russia Squad members have a blue background like their icons.

Same for Cali.

Same for all the Hawkins Heroes - EXCEPT EDDIE. HIS COLOR SWITCHED. HE HAD PURPLE LIKE THE OTHERS AND NOW HUS BACKGROUND ISN'T PURPLE ANYMORE BUT DARK TEAL LIKE VECNA'S AND HE'STHE ONLY ONE MATCHING VECNA. HE. SWTCHED. TEAMS.

Majorwood with Thief!Martyn and royalty!Scott at a masquerade ball. What could go wrong !

"Hello tall dark and handsome."

Martyn turns, and the prince himself stands in front of him. Scott Smajor, unmistakable with his colored hair and insistence on peacocking, wearing such fancy and expensive colors. Mostly blue and gold, though. Of course.

"My outfit isn't dark," he says, because it isn't. It's a nice green with dark brown laced into it. Expensive-looking, but nothing special. Makes it easier to be inconspicuous. "Your Highness."

He mocks a bow, and the prince laughs. "You caught me! It'll be our little secret."

"I mean, it's not subtle. You're not known for that."

"I guess I'm not." Scott smiles at him. "So what are you known for?"

"Crashing parties." Fuck it. Martyn's feeling good about himself. He's feeling good about this job. "Especially fancy ones."

Scott laughs again. "I can respect that." He steps closer and leans in. "Between you and me, I'm not supposed to be here either."

"Wh- you're the prince?" he says, slightly stunned. Huh. At least he's not the one Martyn's stealing from.

"Yeah, and I'm supposed to be in my room. For the announcement later." Scott's shoulders slump, but his expression doesn't change. "But I figured I would mingle. See the sights. See the faces."

"We're wearing masks, Your Highness."

"Figure of speech, Sir Littlewood."

Martyn freezes.

"I'm going back to my room, but you'll find that the door to the kitchen is unlocked. Servant's entrances can get you anywhere."

"I- don't know what you're talking about, Your Highness."

Scott leans in and kisses him on the cheek. "See you later, Martyn," he purrs.

And then he's gone.

Tell me a linguistic fact right now

You can transcribe pretty much anything in any language by how it sounds using the International Phonetic Alphabet!! (It is also useful for taking snarky notes during presentations when you don’t want ppl reading over your shoulder!). It is a 1:1 sound/grapheme correspondence, so a ‘sh’ sound is always written as /ʃ/ (no matter whether it is spelled as ‘sh’ (as in “shell”) or ‘tion’ (as in ‘perception’), etc). It is always the same /ʃ/ bc IPA is based purely on sounds!!

Hi! Idk if you addressed this in another post, but did you block each section of your cardigan as it was made, or did you block it as a whole piece? Either way, it turned out lovely! Love the barbie pink!!

Hello!! And thank you! 💖 I have not talked abt this before, but it is a good question!

The Barbie Sweater is thankfully knit seamlessly, so blocking was done as a whole piece p much immediately after it came off the needles (I did weave in my ends before blocking tho, which I know some ppl warn against. Imho that only matters if you are planning to unravel it, and I was p set on this size and did not foresee that happening!). After it was blocked, then I sewed the buttons on, to make sure they would fall in the correct place.

Tbh I have not made a truly seamed sweater yet, altho I have a few in my ravelry queue. I think traditional wisdom says to block each individual piece before seaming together, then block again after it is all sewn together (but not 100% sure on that).

You think it’s been a month when you get a close enough look at Ianthe’s hair to notice the cobwebs.

Your first instinct is to recoil, but you think about it. She doesn’t seem to notice them, and they don’t come out even when she styles her hair. Nobody else seems to see them, just like they can’t see the fog curled around your legs that matches the wisps you see at God’s heels.

You wonder why the fog has been with you for so long, but it almost makes sense. It’s not as if people in your life have lingered, and you are alone, as you have always been. The other Lyctors are distant, and Ianthe is your only point of genuine connection.

But.

The cobwebs give you the creeps. You can’t explain it, but there’s just something about them that put you off. Of course, it could very well just be Ianthe herself that’s putting you off, but the cobwebs are something else. Something uncomfortable.

If you ask about them, Ianthe will probably just lie.

But you want to know.

That thought send a bolt of pain through your head, and you pass out again.

Do u think Aziraphale will turn evil in the next season? I saw some posts a while ago that his smile in the elevator was indicating/foreshadowing it and I love ur meta and would like to hear ur thoughts on this.

Absolutely not.

Aziraphale is indoctrinated by Heaven, and he has yet to free himself of these views and beliefs, but he always knew the difference between Good and Bad, Right and Wrong. He knew it right from the start with the Flood, he knew it with Job and his family - and tried to prevent the harm that was to befall them by trying to convince Crowley to do the right thing (he didn't know Crowley didn't need convincing; he didn't know him back then) then lied when the success of saving the family rested in his hands even though it was horrible for him to have to do so - as well as with the Crucifixation etc. The problem is that he still believes Heaven=Good and Angels=Good, which is why he actually believes he only needed to talk to the right people in season 1 to actually stop Armageddon. The problem is that he still believes a system that's never been made to be Good is Good, that he still believes the system can be fixed when in reality the system is working just like it was intended to because - to quote Crowley "there aren't any right people". Deep down, he probably knows that but he's spent the past 6000+ years to hold on to that belief system, to this world view; avoiding any challenge to it by just creating the rule that everything that doesn't fit with these beliefs is just an exception.

That's what his arc will be about - breaking free of these beliefs, and that's why the story has led him back to Heaven.

He went to Heaven in the first place because he thought he could change it for the better and fix it and thus save Crowley and humanity; he believes he's doing the Right and Good thing. And that smile in the elevator isn't malicious, it's desperate. Because he thinks he's doing the right thing but it doesn't feel like he is, and he tries to steel himself, tell himself that it was the right decision, and swallow down the heartbreak because to him, the Final Fifteen felt like Crowley was rejecting him.
