Aang ship HC: Puppy Eyes

Zukaang: Zuko gives Aang anything he wants anyway, the only time the puppy eyes come out is when Aang's done something stupid and Knows It and is trying to avoid a lecture. It usually works.

Kataang: Katara is the most resistant but she also loves the puppy eye look and it absolutely makes her melt, she's just still going to stand her ground. She can be in love and still tell him that No he cannot adopt ten more lemurs bc he found a flock of them. It's like 50/50 on whether it'll work or not, however even when it doesn't work, it at least gets her to compromise.

Sokkaang: Sokka is the most suspectable and Aang is vicious about it. Bad idea? Puppy eyes. He did something stupid? Puppy eyes. Prank? Puppy eyes. Works every time. Sokka is so fucking sick of it. (Whenever Sokka complains though Aang just starts listing all of the stupid shit Sokka has pulled)

Taang: Toph can't see them so they don't work, instead Aang takes to pitifully laying on the ground when he wants something. Toph thinks it's dumb af and it's even dumber that it actually works sometimes. He's too soft for her to deny ksbdkdn

This is a Good Ship, Actually. The hate Pema gets is insane (Pema has never done anything wrong in her life ever), and Tenzin is an adult responsible for his own choices. Their dynamic is great, and they've built a beautiful family. Probably my favorite canonical LOK ship.

Sokaang

TBQH, this ship kind of grosses me out. It's a personal preference thing-- aside from a handful of very specific exceptions, I usually don't like shipping the same character with siblings (or with an ex's sibling). (It just feels a little icky to me.)

Next part of All x Fem!Aang, Male!Mai's turn follows. I wanted to draw about the "Rejection Protocols", for those who barely know me, I have the Hc (which leads to an Au), where if Aang remained single, many nobles from different countries took advantage of the fact that he had no knowledge of the customs and marriage arrangements of each nation. They tricked Aang and compromised him without his consent, resulting in him being engaged to many people and demanding that he choose.

To get out of this disaster, Aang gets his friends to advise them to carry out "rejection protocols" and be able to get rid of commitments one by one. He has to dress, use etiquette and do the customs of each nation to the person he is going to reject, his advisors for each nation are; Sokka, Toph and Mai.

That's why in this drawing, Fem!Aang wears Fire Nation clothing, hairstyle, mannerisms, and makeup while Male!Mai helps her with negotiations to reject her fiancés. I based my makeup on Akemi from "Blue Eye Samurai"

I have used this HC (or AU, I'm not sure what it is) as a plot engine in two fanfics I published. One is MaiAang and another is SokAang, I made them for a Aang RareShipps Week.

Zuko has SHIT depth perception and gets dizzy easily. When he's with Iroh, Iroh is usually there to steady him, but when he joins the gaang, anytime he stumbles, someone just grabs ahold of his clothes to keep him from falling.

Usually with some joke about how clumsy he is.

Then, one day, (for this imagine you gotta know Sokka, Zuko, and Aang are all dating), Sokka is sitting down and Zuko is bent to kiss him.

When he goes to stand back up, he gets dizzy and teeters.

Sokka automatically reaches out to catch him by the shirt.

...

But he's too low because he's seated and grabs him by the crotch of his pants instead.

"Thats usually where your shirt is, but I guess I'm catching you by the dick today." Sokka jokes.

Not even a beat passes and Zuko goes, "babe, please, we agreed not in front of Aang- he's celibate and its not nice to tease him."

1: Who makes the first move and how?

Aang! Aang! Aang! I haven’t written a sokaang fic yet but when I (finally) do, aang will (spoilers lol) definitely make the deciding move. As for how, off the top of my head I’m gonna say quietly. As much as Sokka and Aang like grand gestures, I don’t think the first move would be one of them. I can picture aang asking sokka out to dinner and he picks sokka up, pays for the meal, the whole nine yards and after when they’re heading back home sokka asks aang, like, why’d you do all that? And Aang says something real simple like “I was told the best way to your heart is through your stomach and I kinda wanna set up home there so, here we are” and it all finally clicks for sokka and then they’re making out LMAO. Obviously w more romance and nuance but i have to write the fic for that first 💀

13. When do they realise they should get together?

a few years after Katara and Aang break up. Maybe even many years. In my head sokaang is a really exquisite type of slow burn, so that’s probably the main reason for that belief lol. They’re so smart but when combined they truly are usdiot, so I think it would take them a minute to put it all together.

My biggest dissapointment in the (sane) zutara fandom will forever be that they collectively chose taang as their alt Aang ship instead of sokkaang. Smh

Sokkaang and Zutara are such fun pairs to put together. Zutara constantly having to keep Sokkaang's collective idiocy in check and Sokkaang on constant 'keep Zutara from getting themselves arrested' duty jsndnsnd like come on, the potential, it's so good.

And then Toph gets to be an aroace queen who's just there to have a good time and mercilessly mock her friends for suffering alloism.

I definitely don't mind any of those ships!!! I like them all a lot and I think they could all work good on their own as well!!!

ATLA Ship Tier List

i’ve had a lot of people tag me to do this meme but every time i look at the template it exhausts me to imagine having to draw lines for all these ships. which is a shame because the art is so cute, but that’s just how my brain works. anyways i’ve decided i’m just going to leave the template blank and write the tiers below to make life easier on my blood pressure. thanks to @praetorqueenreyna for the most recent tag, i love her wholeheartedly and she knows it!

red tier/otp: tokka, zukaang, azulaang, maiaang, sukaang, zuki, toko, maizula. i have written fics for all these ships but one, but I WILL GET TO MAIZULA EVENTUALLY I SWEAR. i love reading stories about all of these pairings and love thinking of scenarios for them and sometimes writing them down.

orange tier/cute: kataang, yueaang, sukitara, toki, mailee, yueki, tysuki, azuki, yueko. i still actively seek out content for them! just not as much and don’t obsess over them as deeply as the red tier. i still find all these ships very interesting and attractive for different reasons and will read and (eventually) write fic for them. 

green tier/like it: maiko, jetaang, tylaang, yuetara, tylara, yuetoph, maitoph, maiki, yuezula, jetko, tyzula, maikka. i get it and still find them interesting!! i just don’t actively seek out or make content about them or think super deeply about them.

blue tier/it exists: zutara, taang, sokaang, katoph, jetara, maitara, azutara, jetoph, tophlee, azutoph, jetki, maiki, sukka, yuejet (???), yai, tyue, yuekka, jai, jetlee, jetzula, jetkka, tyzuko. i get it, but i don’t GET it. like i can see it and see the appeal in passing but it would take a lot for me to sit down and hash out a fic and i don’t ever really absorb content about them.

black tier/no. absolutely not: zukka.

this is hard because as y’all can see, i’m not very picky. i will literally think about every ship and shut down very little of them. tbh, even with zukka, i bet if i wrote a fic on them i could convince myself to ship them. what can i say? i’m narcissus and my fics are my pond lmfao.
