#so the question is: are they one big fear entity again

What if the organizing of the cases in the O.I.A.R being different from how they were organized in TMA with the original 14 entities is causing a remanifestation where the separations between the new entities are completely different. What if by organizing the cases and they are single-handedly driving this universes interpretations of the fears. They aren't categorizing existing things, they are creating the boundaries.

Was Celia drunk as fuck or is this something supernatural?? 👀
Who the fuck is Jack?? 👀
Alice is such a delight, I love her!
Oof so one or both of them have trauma involving grandparents then.
I love Samama & Alice so much. 💜 They have a great dynamic!
Oh shit, right, Gwen is probably still getting over Mr. Bonzo too. 👀
Tumblr media
"I just… I dunno. When I left the coffee shop, it felt like someone was following me."
Tumblr media
Please don't take away Alice, she's one of my faves! I hope this post doesn't age poorly. Watch me have to quote this post very soon.
OH NO, is it that [ERROR] following her??? 😰
"Don’t joke about that, mate. I was dreaming about it all day." Okay, yeah, that's a creature.
Sam & Alice are both about to run into a creature... 👀
Tumblr media
"Classifying unspeakable horrors all night for no discernible reason?" @/entities-of-posts & @/which-entity-this-post-serves is that you? :]
Hmm, now why is this episode called "marked?" I assumed Mr. Bonzo was gonna find his mark, but maybe Alice is marked by an entity/creature that was locked in the Magnus Institute?
"giving up the ghost" okay so someone saw an apparition? Honestly not sure what entity this episode is about so far.
It's giving The Corruption ✨🧟‍♀️⚰️ (maybe The Buried)
"It’s just that one of the graves had a body in that was too well-preserved for the age it should have been." 👀👀👀
Tumblr media
This thing is about to jump out of the grave & run off, isn't it? 🏃‍♂️
"The back was completely covered in this complicated tattoo of a ship sailing across an open sea towards an open horizon." Peter Lukas?!?!?
Tumblr media
Oh 100% The Buried, without a shadow of a doubt.
Lots of tattoo & carvings in walls imagery in this sequel prequel sidequel, isn't there? 👀
Hey wait, that's Ink5oul from episode 2, isn't it? 👀 Ink5oul definitely feels like a conduit or vessel for The Flesh or some other kind of entity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, there's something weird going on with this place, the salt water & waves near this cemetery are kind of seemingly enticing them to come drown in it's waters. In the very least it's messing with these guys' mental states! Pretty freakkyyyy! 👀🌊
Also the repeated emphasis on dreams is interesting this episode, wonder if that'll play a part in something later on. 👀👀
Tumblr media
"If it’s any consolation, he’s with the sea now. The deep will care for his bones." I literally called it!!
Tumblr media
I think Gordon Alan Johnson also wants to be with David. 👀🌊🌊
Tumblr media
I think Gordon Alan Johnson also wants to be with David. 👀🌊🌊
I don't know, Gordie, I think you did it! Unless Ink5oul is collecting tattoos like an alternate universe version of the Leitner books. Wait yeah, what if the tattoos are like conduits for the entities of this world or even the original one? 🖌
Tumblr media
Another way to look at this is asking... Is The Deep a new entity/fear or is it a servant of a fear like The Vast? I stg there was a colossal water monster at some point in The Magnus Archives!
Tumblr media
Okay so yeah, there's already a precedent for this. Also feels like The Lonely, The Buried, The Corruption, The Vast, & maybe even The Flesh are all involved in this one though I don't know if Flesh (Ink5oul) is working with or against the other fears at this time.
Gwen, you can tell your coworkers what's wrong, oh my fucking god. Please. Celia, you have me so invested in whatever is going on with you.
Weird unexplained noise at 17:44 too as Celia enters the office. Wonder what that's all about, maybe it'll come up later on.
"He is one of our Externals." Okay; so, there's more of them & they have their own secret hitman title too!
Mr. Bonzo when he was on TV
Tumblr media
"And they usually like it." I bet fear creatures do like it when you scream. That makes a lot of sense actually.
Also what's that weird "boowomp" noise as they're talking or is it just the OST? 👀
Is Gwen going to be turned into something not quite human at some point? Just throwing darts at a board with that speculation, but wouldn't that be wild?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay; so, these little digitized noises are absolutely important!
Tumblr media
I wonder how many times & when people have lied so far throughout this season. 👁️👁️

A/N: Recently heard of a book that had a sleep paralysis demon in it. Apparently it's pretty hot but I haven't read it yet. Hopefully I will once I get through Learn My Lesson. Anyway this is, a very late, next part of my Monster Week.
Tumblr media
The first thing you noticed when you opened your eyes was that, yes you were still in your room. It was still nighttime judging from the sliver of moonlight coming from your window. But something wasn't right. Try as you might you couldn't move a muscle.
You opened your mouth to try to curse but no sound would come out. You were completely paralyzed. In your mind you trashed and kicked, but it wasn't translating to your body at all.
"You really should stop trying that. It makes the experience worse for us both." The scratchy, deep voice sounded from somewhere in the room. Your eyes frantically searched for its source. "Up here sweet dreamer."
You manage to shift your gaze upwards to the corner of the bedroom door. There you see a pair of piercing ice blue eyes, in even darker colors of blue, staring at you. You can't make out anything else as the eyes move down the wall in unnatural way, almost gliding.
"Forgive the intrusion on my part." The entity smiles as it straightens up, towering over you even at the distance. You're able to see sharp rows of pointy teeth, it too a glowing blue color, both its eyes and its mouth seem to give out a faint blue shimmer. "Your dreams smelled so sweet, I just couldn't stay away." It crept closer, the form shrinking and shifting, almost shadow like from what you could see, "Oh, are you scared? Hm, how about I take a form more familiar to you?"
It smirked, eyes narrowing then widening as it took a male bodied shape and tone of voice. The blue eyes and teeth stayed but there was also a shadowy strand of hair falling over its left eye, almost entirely obscuring it. And while the body was muscular you could still make out little wisps of light dancing across it like firelights.
"Better now dreamer?" He tilted his head and walked close, aware of the nakedness of himself and your eyes taking him in. "What troubles you tonight. Let me take a look."
His hand, smooth, warm and almost tickling you, pressed against your cheek.
"Oh dear. That's an awful lot of stress for just one person. No wonder you've been having trouble sleeping lately. Perhaps I can do something about it. You humans are a complicated yet simple bunch, I've learned many things about your kind over the years. Such as..." In a moment he was above you, on top of you, grabbing your chin and making eye contact with you. His knee pressed between your legs, lightly massaging the aching spot, "how to best make you come."
Once again you tried to speak but to no avail. The pressure felt good, but you didn't know this... demon, you had no idea of his true goals. It scared and aroused you at the same time. His hands, a little big on your hips still, took hold and moved you against his leg.
"How long has it been since someone touched you like this?" He questioned against your skin, his long, forked tongue licking down your neck. It too was a shade of blue, a little lighter than the interior of his mouth. "Haven't you been a good girl? Haven't you earned your release?"
Heat pooled between your legs fast, building up until it crashed over you like an avalanche as you came with a soundless cry. For a moment you thought you'd closed your eyes again, when actually that was just your mind trying to come back to you.
He smiled above you, his hands smoothing under your shirt and hiking it up. He licked downward, between and around your breasts, biting the right underboob, making you shiver at the sharpness of his teeth and the knowledge that he could rip you apart if he wanted to. But he didn't, that wasn't his goal. His goal was between your legs. Your panties were slid off and left barely hanging at the foot of the bed.
"You smell even sweeter when aroused." The long tongue flicked between your lower lips, smooth and hot, sending a jolt of arousal through your still body. "Taste even better." He dove in with his mouth and tongue, licking between, around and inside you. This time you found that you could whimper, but only barely, resulting in him smiling against you, "Does it feel good? Tell me, I'll allow it."
A high and choked "Yes." left your lips before you went right back to making those lewd sounds that he seemed to thrive on.
"I'm glad." He made eye contact with you as he licked a long path from your pussyhole to your clit, tapping against it with his forked tongue. "You taste better than dreams. You might be my new sustenance. A win-win."
He lifted from between your legs, your juices dripping down his chin. His hand went between his legs and fisted around his cock. You don't know how you were able to miss it until now, it wasn't small by any means.
"I can shift it. For any shape that suits your needs. So how do you want me? Do you want me?" His eyes found yours, searching for an answer as he slid his hand up and down the hard appendage. You moaned as you saw it shift in the perfect shape and girth for your pussy. "This one?" He circled the tip on your clit, his hips barely moving.
"Yes. I want." Were all the words you were able to speak out, that he needed to hear before you felt the head of his dick on your entrance. He gave it a few experimental thrusts, pushing forward more with every roll of his hips.
"Oh yes." He moaned, deep and breathless as he bottomed out, "Much better than a dream. You take me perfectly my sweet. Your body is responding so well to me. This cock is just what you needed isn't it? Fucking you deep, filling up your empty hole like no other."
You wanted to nod, to moan, to ask him for his name, to shake your hips into his. But all you could do was lie still as he moved back and forth above you, his hips pressing against yours, his face close to yours, your breath mixing together before he kissed you.
The kiss further muffled your moans as his pace increased, his hands grabbing hold of your hips, his nails leaving pink scratch marks on your skin as he started to hammer his hard cock into your pussy. Not even you realized how much you needed this. You needed him to fuck, and mark you, and drive you to the brink and pull you back. "Harder." You were able to say against him before he dove back into another, deeper kiss, his teeth nibbling and pulling at your lip before licking over it, constantly reminding you of what he is.
"Whatever you ask." He obliged with much glee, driving with cock deep it had to be kissing your cervix. "A little more and I bet I could open you up. But even in a dream I think that'd hurt a little too much." There was a darkness in his concerning tone telling you that despite knowing that he wanted to do it. "Let me hear you my sweet dreamer. I want to hear you come undone around my cock."
"Oh fuck!" The left your mouth before you could register it, your moans no longer held back some invisible force although your body was still paralyzed, rocking only because of his thrusts. "Yeah, fuck, make me come!"
"As many times you want." He drove his cock back and forth into your twitching, sensitive cunt, each thrust accompanied by wet slapping sounds of skin against skin. "Do you want my cum too? You've been so well behaved, I think you deserve it."
You could barely even choke out your confirmation before you were flooded by huge loads of cum. He kept fucking you through his orgasm, intent on getting you there too. His cum only made his cock more slippery, the length twitching and pulsing as it dragged against your quivering walls and pushed you over the edge. His arms went around your shoulders, his teeth latching onto you neck.
For a moment your pulse quickened, wondering if he would kill you now that he got what he wanted. It wasn't until you heard and felt a deep rumble from his chest that you realized he was completely calm. It irked you a little, you were all out of breath and shaking and here he was, still completely fine.
"A mark for you. So others know you're mine." He whispered against your skin, "Until next time my sweet dreamer." His voice echoed in your ears as you felt yourself fade into unconsciousness.
It was an emptiness and ache between your legs that you woke up with. Your whole body ached in fact. "Fuck. Was that... a dream?" Considering there was no one in your room but you and no cum between your legs, something that a part of you looked forward to seeing, it had to have been a dream. You rushed into the bathroom, you had to be sure.
There it was, a bite mark on your neck. Not a dream, not reality, but something in between.
A shiver went down your spine and straight between your legs as you remembered his words: "Until next time."
"Until tonight." You smiled into the mirror. It was brief but for a moment you swore you heard his voice, his chuckle, right behind you.

You took a deep breath as you looked at your reflection in the bathroom mirror. Half-dressed for the day, your eyes couldn’t help but focus on the scars that littered your upper arm, remembering when they used to be deep gashes.
It had been about a year since you stood in the Byers’ house fighting for your life against the horrifying entity from what the kids elected to call the Upside Down. Though your physical wounds had healed, the emotional ones still lingered. Every once in a while, fear invaded your consciousness as you thought back to the flashing lights and the low growl resonating through the small family room. Sometimes when you closed your eyes, you could still see the rows and rows of razor sharp teeth, inching closer and closer to your face.
It was paralyzing, but you shoved those thoughts and feelings aside as you threw a long sleeve shirt on, covering the physical evidence of your fight against the supernatural. Stop thinking about that, you reminded yourself, it’s all over now.
The walk to Hawkins High wasn’t terribly long, though you did still wish you were fortunate enough to afford a vehicle of your own. Once you finally reached the parking lot, a car honk drew you from your thoughts and you were met with the familiar face of the one and only Steve Harrington as he smiled and waved from the driver’s seat. Sat next to him was Nancy Wheeler. Steve’s talk with her in the hospital evidently had been successful because they’d been back together since then, coming up on their first anniversary. You found it difficult to be happy for the couple, but you pushed the jealousy down in your chest and did a small wave back, a half smile on your face. Nancy didn’t respond with the same enthusiasm as Steve, her smile not quite reaching her eyes.
The window suddenly rolled down and Steve called out, “Hey y/n! I’ll see you in study hall! I have a question for you!”
“Okay…? See you then, I guess,” you responded, a bit surprised. Since last year, Steve had rethought his life choices. He wasn’t the same douchebag he’d been when he broke Jonathan’s camera and called Nancy a slut. He dropped Tommy H and Carol, started focusing a bit more on school, and was generally a lot nicer than he used to be. However, despite the way you both risked your lives together, blindsided by the paranormal darkness lurking in Hawkins, you both kind of fell out of touch.
He had Nancy and you had…well, you had your studies. And your babysitting gig. One year strong babysitting the Henderson kid, and only one apocalyptic encounter. Needless to say, you were doing pretty damn good.
Suddenly, the sound of tires screeching on the pavement drew the focus of the three of you away from the semi-awkward encounter, watching as a car with California plates peeled into the parking lot. A boy you didn’t recognize stepped out of the car, flicking his cigarette behind him. A young girl emerged from the passenger seat, turning and making her way down the hill in the direction of Hawkins Middle.
You scoffed, being the impeccable babysitter that you were. Was this guy really too lazy to drop his kid sister off at her school that was less than a block away?
He swung his car door shut and paused, looking you up and down before sending a wink and smirk your direction and turning to make his way into the high school. Your hands gripped your backpack straps a little tighter, feeling like an object to be used or consumed under his gaze. You didn’t have a good feeling about this boy, and something told you that Hawkins High had found its replacement for the King Steve that disappeared when Harrington wisened up last year.
“Who is that guy?” You suddenly heard Steve’s voice ask, annoyance painted on his face. He wasn’t too thrilled with the way he had looked at you. Steve knew the type of guy he was; the type that wouldn’t take no for an answer, and in that moment despite the countless girls drooling over his dumbass mullet, he had zeroed in on you.
“Must be new,” you responded, forcing a smile in an attempt to demonstrate that the mystery boy’s actions hadn’t fazed you. You fought an otherworldly entity; surely you could handle some asshole jock. In a way, you already had, and look how that turned out.
“The two of you should steer clear of him. He’s bad news,” Steve warned. Nancy and you didn’t argue, nodding before you took off to enter the building so you wouldn’t be late for first period.
By the time you were on your way to third period study hall, you had already spent the morning contemplating what Steve could possibly have to ask you. It was your junior year, his senior, and while you were taking it for the extra study time, he was taking it to avoid coursework from one more class, largely using it as a time to take a school sanctioned nap. As such, normally you didn’t interact much during the one hour break from boring lectures and busy work.
“Hey,” Steve whispered as he slid into the chair next to you, a stark juxtaposition to the way he slammed his textbooks on the desk, causing you to jump.
“What? Not taking your spot in the back corner so you can sleep without Mrs. Reed giving you shit?” You asked, staring up at him innocently.
“Actually, I was thinking I could get us out of here for the hour.”
“And how do you suppose that’s going to happen?”
“I’ll put on the old Harrington charm…just watch,” he smirked as he stood up, grabbing you by the elbow to drag you to the teacher’s desk. Mrs. Reed was not the type of person to mess with. She wore her hair up in a slicked back bun that meant business, wearing a scowl like it was an accessory. You seriously doubted the “Harrington charm” was going to do shit to get you out of that classroom.
She glared at the boy through her thin wire glasses, clearly not in the mood for his shenanigans. “Is there a problem?” She droned out, her expression fixing further into annoyance, if that was even possible.
“Actually, Mrs. Reed, I’m afraid there is,” he started, “you see, y/n here was just telling me about how she has this big presentation in her fourth hour class, and she was really hoping for an opportunity to practice. Is there any possible way you’d be so gracious as to let us utilize one of the study rooms in the library? I mean, we can’t go letting Hawkins’ star pupil do anything less than ace this thing, am I right?”
He shook you by your shoulders a bit at the end, and even though the compliment was nothing more than a lie, you still flushed under the praise. It wasn’t everyday that you got complimented in front of your entire study hall class by the most popular student in the school.
“Is that so, y/n?” She turned to you.
“You know me and my nerves, Mrs. Reed; I could really use the help. And besides, Steve is probably about the most rowdy audience I could possibly have, so presenting after this will be a piece of cake,” you pasted a smile on your face. You felt bad lying to her; she’d been a pretty decent English teacher your sophomore year.
“Fine. Don’t worry about coming back before the end of the hour. I know I can trust you to keep Harrington in line,” she answered, glaring at Steve before turning back to the work on her desk, done with the bullshit of high school students; the good ones and the bad ones alike.
You both quickly thanked her before Steve grabbed both of your backpacks and you headed out the door.
“Okay, if I’m going to be completely honest, I was about 85% sure that wasn’t going to work. Mrs. Reed fucking hates me…like a lot,” Steve breathed out as he tossed you your bag, his cocky facade finally dissipating as he continued down the hall.
“This better be a good fucking question, Steve,” you grumbled, not happy about the lie he forced you into, “what am I supposed to do if she asks me about my presentation? What am I supposed to do if she talks to Mr. Hayes?”
“Woah, woah, woah, cool your jets,” he rolled his eyes, “Mrs. Reed is probably a year or two away from retirement and barely even cares about the shit she’s teaching, so I think you’re going to be fine.”
You entered the library, quickly moving to one of the study rooms. You tossed your bag on the floor, already tired from the day and not fully emotionally prepared to spend an hour one on one with Steve.
“Alright, what’s the deal?” You asked as you sat in one of the chairs, crossing your arms as your face fixed into a glare.
“Well, first of all, here,” he shoved an obnoxiously orange flyer at you. You grabbed it a bit aggressively, still not super happy with the boy in front of you. He had a dorky-ass grin on his face though, and it almost broke the cold exterior you were trying to keep up….almost.
“‘Tina’s Halloween Bash, come and get sheet faced,’ are you kidding me? This is what we’re skipping study hall for? Dude, I have an AP chem test this week that I really needed to study for,” you whined, shoving the flyer back at him.
“No, of course this isn’t the reason we’re skipping. I may be dumb, but I’m not an idiot,” he said as he shoved the flyer back at you, “It’s just…I know you never go out, a-and—and it’s Halloween! You can’t stay in on Halloween! Plus, Nancy and I are going to be there, so it’ll be fun, I swear it.”
He leaned across the table, the elbow of his right arm settling right in the middle as he reached his hand towards you. Your focus shifted to his extended pinky. You looked at him incredulously as he waggled it a few times, looking at you with his big brown puppy dog eyes. This boy was going to be the death of you, but you wrapped your small pinky around his anyway.
“I’ll consider it. That’s the best you’re getting.”
“You know what, I’ll take it. Which brings me to my next topic, and pretty much the entire reason for this in the first place, which is that Nancy thinks my application essay sucks and I really need some fucking help,” Steve leaned back while he ran his hands down his face.
You felt a pang in your heart because you knew how stressful this all probably was for the boy. You’d been smart and planned accordingly, so getting into colleges wasn’t the part that was stressing you out; it was the finances that did. Steve on the other hand had screwed around for two and a half years and now somehow needed to manage turning things around enough so that he had even a fighting chance.
“Just give it to me,” you sighed and he quickly handed over the essay he had written.
Steve watched your eyes scan the page as you read the words that he had spent the last week writing. He was a bit embarrassed, to say the least; he had taken one English class with you last semester and knew that he didn’t even write half as well as you did. Hell, Nancy didn’t even come close and her writing was really, really good.
“You…you compared winning a basketball game to your grandfather fighting in the war?” You asked incredulously.
“…yeah?”
“Steve.”
“I know, I know! It’s bad, but that’s why I need your help! I was gonna have Nancy help me but we have this thing tonight and I can’t miss it and—“
You cut him off. “Steve, stop talking. I can help you…but I think you’re going to have to rewrite this whole thing.”
Steve hung his head and buried his face in his hands. Of course I’m gonna have to rewrite the damn thing because it can never just be fucking easy. He felt your hands pull on his wrist and he looked up, finding you staring at him sweetly. A bit pitying, but it was still sweet. With that, some of his anger subsided and he took a deep breath.
“You just need to find something more meaningful to you. I mean, I can tell your heart really isn’t in this. Besides, sometimes the best essays are about the things you’ve lost, not the things you’ve won.”
Steve thought about this. He lived a pretty privileged life. He didn’t want for anything, his future was pretty much set so long as he took the job at his dad’s company, he had the girl, the car, the hair, etc. Sure, his parents kind of really, really sucked but that was small potatoes compared to all of the things he had easy. It was hard to think of something he really, truly lost.
He almost had lost you.
His thoughts flashed to the demogorgon, the way his heart stopped and instinct took over as he had swung the bat with all his might to get the damn thing away from you. He pushed the thought away and suddenly he wasn’t interested in working on this essay anymore.
“You know what? You’re right. I’m gonna need some time to brainstorm some things to write about, but in the meantime, how about we focus on that AP chem test, huh? I mean, there’s no way you don’t have color-coded flash cards and all that jazz”
“Steve, you really don’t have to. I’m sure you have a lot better things to do than to help me cram for some dumb test.”
“Hey, first of all, if it’s important to you, it’s not dumb. Secondly, I might be a shit learner, but I’m a pretty damn good quizzer, so hand ‘em over,” he motioned for you to hand him your index cards as you sheepishly pulled them out of your backpack in their color-coded glory.
“How could I have possibly known?” He feigned surprise.
“Shut up, Harrington.”
***
When all was said and done, you felt moderately better about your AP chem test. Steve wasn’t lying when he said he was a good quizzer; by now, you had every word on every one of those damn cards memorized. During your walk to the Henderson household, you pulled the bright orange flyer out of your pocket. You couldn’t help but smile thinking back to Steve inviting you. He wanted you to be there.
“Y/n!” Dustin drew you out of your thoughts as you quickly shoved the flyer back into your back pocket. The middle school and the high school let out at the same time. He wasn’t far behind you, sat atop his bike as he hopped off and walked with it next to him so he could talk to you.
“You can ride your bike home. I seriously doubt you can get into any serious sort of trouble in the five minutes it takes me to catch up,” you reminded him, though you weren’t entirely sure that was true; in fact, the boy was such a problem sometimes that you considered upping your rate to charge his mom for hazard pay.
“First off, I think you underestimate how much faster I can get home on my bike than you can on foot. Secondly, what was that you just put in your pocket?”
“It-It’s nothing,” you said maybe a little too quickly as your face heated up.
“Bullshit. Spill.”
You sighed. “It’s just some stupid flyer for a big Halloween party. Nothing that concerns you, unless you somehow age several years in the next few days and are suddenly eligible to attend,” you joked, sarcasm lacing your tone as you tried to gather your bearings and act more casual. He didn’t need to know that, to you, it was more than just some Halloween party; it was a Halloween party that Steve Harrington had invited you to.
“You don’t go to parties though,” Dustin was quick to remind you. He was right. Sure, early on in high school you’d been invited to a few, but after you continued to decline, people stopped reaching out.
“Well…there’s a first time for everything, isn’t there?” you muttered.
“Are you gonna dress up?”
“I don’t know.”
“Who invited you?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
“Was it a guy?”
“No!”
“So it was a guy!” Dustin exclaimed. You rolled your eyes and jogged ahead, trying to put some distance between you and the incessant questioning of the boy you had the great misfortune of babysitting.
“Your silence is incriminating!” He shouted after you, unable to run very gracefully while attempting to guide a bike around.
You shook your head and sighed. Could babysitting Henderson ever be easy?
***
You walked towards Tina’s house feeling more than just stupid. You didn’t even know Tina super well outside of her always bumming notes off of you when she missed fifth period French. After your conversation with Dustin, you began considering the many elements of a Halloween party that had slipped your mind when you pinky promised Steve you’d go. You hadn’t thought about a costume because, frankly, you hadn’t initially been planning on doing anything for Halloween; it was just going to be another Wednesday for you.
As such, you had decided not to dress up, instead opting to pick apart your closet to find clothes that would maybe scream “party,” settling on your favorite pair of jeans, a low cut black tank top, and a denim jacket. So, yeah, you weren’t in costume, but at least your tits had kind of showed up to the party, so you decided that was good enough.
The mess of bodies dancing at different levels of sobriety made it difficult to navigate the front lawn and you hoped with all your might that Steve and Nancy were already there. You got closer to the front door when you heard the headache inducing sounds of high school testosterone as a bunch of the douchebags from Hawkins High hyped up Mr. California for doing an absurdly long keg stand.
Gee. Great.
As you reached to grasp the doorknob to let yourself into the party, a hand from behind you slammed the door back shut just as soon as you had opened it. You were met eye to eye with the mullet headed, leather jacket wearing douchebag himself. Something was off about this boy (besides the fact that he was unbelievably hammered), and you thought back to Steve’s warning to stay away.
“Hey,” he slurred as he looked you up and down, his eyes pausing longer than they should’ve when they reached your chest. You felt small under his hungry gaze, but you refused to allow yourself to visibly shrink so you straightened your posture and forced your chin up as you looked him in the eye.
“Excuse you,” you muttered as you tried to pull on the door handle again. Obviously it didn’t budge, and he laughed at your attempt. You scowled as you met his eyes again. “What’s your deal, man?”
“The name’s Billy. Billy Hargrove,” he shot you a smirk that screamed trouble as he extended his hand towards you, offering up a handshake.
What a total ass. Fortunately though, he was cocky enough to think that striking up a conversation would cause you to stay, removing his hand from the door, so you took the opportunity to maneuver past him, opening the door and slipping inside.
“Frankly, I don’t give a shit,” you added before slamming the door in his face. You saw the look of shock flash across his features before he disappeared from view and you couldn’t help but feel good about it. The feeling quickly dissipated though as you attempted to weave around the living room, nearly tripping as you made your way into the kitchen where you met Nancy.
“What’s in this?” She was asking a guy in a toga. You recognized him from your second period class, but you didn’t know his name.
“Pure fuel! Pure fuel! Whoo!” He shouted back at her, and you realized you were perfectly fine not getting to know him.
“Well, with that ringing endorsement, we’d be dumb not to have a little, right?” You chuckled and Nancy spun around at the sound of your voice.
“Y/n, you made it,” she said, smile not really touching her eyes, “Steve wasn’t sure you were going to show.” Both of you dipped red solo cups into the questionable mixture, filling them up with the red mix of booze and punch.
“Yep, here I am. In the flesh,” you laughed again, trying to dispel the awkward energy. Something about her seemed off; normally she would be much more friendly. You hoped that you hadn’t done anything to upset her. “Nancy, is everything okay?” You asked quietly as you gently grabbed her wrist.
“I’m fine,” she replied as her jaw set and her tone told you not to push the question. You let go of her wrist and nodded, letting her know that you were going to let it go for now. Her body relaxed and you lifted up your cup toward her.
“Cheers?” You asked with a half smile on your face. This earned you a small smile from the girl as she brought her cup up to tap yours. You smiled and both of you brought your cups to your lips, you taking a small sip while she threw her head back and downed the whole glass.
“Hey! Woah, woah, woah, take it easy! Nance!” Steve was suddenly beside you, reaching across you to try and grab the cup out of her hand.
“We’re just being stupid teenagers for the night. Wasn’t that the deal?” She glared at him before downing more punch, wiping away the bit that spilled onto her face, and shoving her way into the crowd to dance.
Steve’s expression fell a bit as he watched her leave, but his focus shifted to you. “Sorry about that. She’s just…in a bit of a mood today,” he apologized and shook his head, “but I’m so glad you’re here! I mean, I was pretty sure you were gonna bail on me considering I know for a fact that you were invited to some of my house parties last year and you didn’t show.”
“How dare I, right?” You rolled your eyes and chuckled. It’s true. You had been invited to his parties, especially after your encounter with the demogorgon had brought the two of you together in a weird but irreversible way. You would always have that experience, but you weren’t interested in changing for him. Besides, he was never the one to personally extend the invitation, instead you heard about it from someone else every time.
“You aren’t in costume.”
“Way to point out the obvious,” you retorted, finishing your first cup of punch. Steve shot you a look, clearly not trusting that you knew your limits with alcohol. “You’re joking, right?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, it seems a bit hypocritical for the king of parties himself to be judgmental about someone else’s drinking habits.”

“Well, it’s exactly that. I don’t get the impression that you have drinking habits, and if it’s your first time drinking, you should watch yourself, you know? Can’t fault me for looking out for a friend,” he added and you bristled a bit at that last word. Friend.
“Y/n, what?” He asked, noticing your reaction. You sighed before responding, not really sure how this conversation was going to go.
“So…we’re friends now?” You asked, but it was more of a statement than a question.
Steve was taken aback, clearly confused by your confusion. “What do you mean? Of course we’re friends! Y/n, we went through so much together last year, I mean, did you really think I was just gonna drop you like all that shit didn’t matter?”
“You kind of did. It’s not like we hang out or really talk or anything remotely close to what friends would do. We’re just two people who know each other a little bit better than we did. I wouldn’t necessarily call that ‘being friends’,” you responded, putting air quotes around the final words. You hoped that your statement didn’t hurt him. It was the truth though. Your shoulders tensed as you awaited his response.
“You know what? You’re right y/n, and I’m sorry. I should’ve done more to keep in touch, and I’m not going to make any excuses. So let’s just start over, okay?” He asked, his big brown eyes staring into yours.
Your breath hitched in your throat, and you nodded, not trusting that your voice wouldn’t fail you.
“Alright, perfect,” he smiled, and suddenly he extended his hand towards you, “hey, I’m Steve. I don’t know you but you seem pretty tough, and like you might have some killer fighting instincts, so I thought we could be friends.”
You laughed. Like really laughed, and Steve was beaming. You wiped away a tear that slipped from your eye as you took a breath to regain your composure. It was all so absurd and perfect and so incredibly Steve that you couldn’t help but accept his offer. You willed your palms not to sweat as you grabbed his hand and shook it, “Well, I’m y/n, and yeah, you’re right; I do have some pretty kick-ass instincts, but I can’t promise it will keep you out of trouble.”
“That’s okay because I’ve got some pretty kick-ass moves myself, so I think we’ve got it covered,” he added, smiling at you. He let go of your hand before saying “well, Nancy’s probably halfway to being shit faced, so we should probably go party it up with her while her memory’s still intact.”
You nodded as you turned to exit the kitchen, Steve placing a hand on your back as he guided you through the mess of people dancing to get to Nancy. It was fun to let loose and dance, and you wondered why you hadn’t let yourself party like this before. It felt freeing, and you felt the slight buzz from the drinks that you’d had as you let your body move to the music that was almost too loud to hear yourself think.
Suddenly, you felt hands around your waist, and you instantly sobered up, remembering a big part of why you didn’t like parties: asshole guys who were just looking for a quick hook up.
“Hey!” You shouted as you turned around, eyes met with the same piercing blue ones from earlier.
“Woah, no need to get all angry, baby. I gotta say it’s pretty hot though,” Billy chuckled as he moved his hands to grab at your waist again. You maneuvered away from his grasp, swatting his hands away.
“Can’t you tell I’m not fucking interested,” you replied.
“Baby, come on—“
You cut him off, “I’m not your fucking baby.”
“No need to be a bitch about it, come on. Can’t have a little fun?”
“She said she’s not interested, dude. Leave her alone,” Steve spoke up, having realized the position you were in. He moved to stand between the two of you, pulling you by the wrist behind him. Nancy was pretty wasted but aware enough to act, as she took your hand and pulled you farther away, weaving through the crowd to create some distance.
“Sorry, I wasn’t aware that you had two girlfriends, Harrington. I mean, I’m shocked you even have the one to begin with,” Billy retorted, taking a step towards Steve.
Steve stood his ground, knowing it wasn’t worth it to get heated over Billy’s comments. Billy just wanted to get a rise out of him and Steve wasn’t going to let him have the satisfaction.
“I’m just looking out for a girl that needs help. If you’re not going to listen to her maybe you’ll listen to a guy, okay? So walk away.”
“Whatever, Harrington,” Billy replied as he shoved Steve in the shoulder and turned around to walk away. Tommy H was hot on his heels, a mindless dummy and fair weather fan to whoever he deemed to be top dog at any given moment.
“Y/n, are you alright?” Steve caught up with you and Nancy.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Ugh, I just hate assholes, like come on!” You exclaimed, hugging your arms around yourself in an attempt to be self-soothing.
Steve opened his mouth to apologize when he realized Nancy was going back to the punch bowl. He quickly pivoted, following her into the kitchen. “Nancy, no, you’ve had enough, okay?” He said as he tried to grab the cup out of her hand again like he had earlier.
“Screw you,” she slurred, pulling her hand out of his reach and dunking her cup in the bowl.
“No, Nancy, I’m serious! Stop…Nance, put it down,” he warned, grabbing at the cup again. Nancy continued to protest, and Steve continued to fight it until he lost his grip on the cup and its bright red contents went spilling onto Nancy’s pristine white shirt. An audible gasp rang out through the party as those in the near vicinity stopped their dancing to gawk at Hawkins’ power couple’s power struggle.
“What the hell?” Nancy whispered as she stormed out of the room, and Steve pushed past you to follow, yelling after her. And just like that, you were alone. Without Steve and Nancy’s presence to calm you down, you felt your anxiety rise in your throat. You scanned the crowd, trying to find anyone that you knew moderately well enough to crash their group, and when you found no one, you cursed yourself for being such a loner. That was until your eyes met Jonathan Byers’, dressed equally un-festively, and you sighed a huge sigh of relief.
“Jonathan!” You shouted over the music, making your way over to him. Clearly he had seen what just transpired between Nancy and Steve, eyes darting back to focus on the hallway they’d disappeared down.
“Hey, y/n. What just happened?”
“Nancy’s pretty wasted and Steve was trying to cut her off and he spilled her drink on her. They’re probably in the bathroom trying to clean it up, though I doubt it’ll do any good. That punch is definitely going to stain.”
You didn’t know Jonathan super well, but you resonated with him. Both of you were more inclined to keep to yourselves, but via absurd and inter-dimensional means, ended up intertwined in the lives of your high school’s most popular couple. You saw the way he looked at Nancy when they talked, and it wasn’t dissimilar to how you looked at Steve; wanting for something that you couldn’t have but settling for what you did.
The two of you found a quiet corner and continued to make small talk, catching up on each other’s lives since you didn’t talk much. Jonathan told you about how Will was struggling, still visiting Hawkins’ Lab for appointments in an attempt to sort out his PTSD.
“The doctor says it’s some anniversary effect, and how since we’re coming up on a year, he’s just more on edge than usual. He’s been having these episodes though.”
“Episodes?”
“Yeah, they’re kind of like these waking nightmares I guess. He’s still scared out of his mind, y/n,” Jonathan explained, and you saw the pain in his expression. Your heart ached and you felt a lump in your throat as you thought about the way the poor kid was struggling. You wished you could just make it all go away, that you could erase it ever happening in the first place.
“And you trust this guy? The doctor I mean?” You asked hesitantly.
“He seems like a good guy. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like he’s being completely transparent. I guess I’m on edge too. It just seems like everyone’s bracing for something else to happen,” Jonathan added, and you felt the tension in your shoulders as he said it.
Suddenly, Steve stormed through the family room, Nancy noticeably absent. He quickly maneuvered through the crowd, reaching the front door and slamming it shut behind him.
You looked at Jonathan. “Divide and conquer?” You asked, knowing that the two of you were going to have to pick up the pieces of whatever had happened between the two of them. Jonathan quickly nodded, as you dropped your prior conversation. “Okay, I don’t have a car and Nancy’s not in a state to walk home, so you take care of her and I’ll handle Steve,” you added as you started walking backwards to make your way towards the door.
“Are you sure? He seems pretty mad.”
“I’ve handled worse!” You shouted back as you turned and swiftly made it out the door. Your eyes scanned the front lawn, still littered with people, but they quickly found the brown mop of hair that you had become familiar with just as he was reaching his car.
“Steve!” You shouted, but he ignored you, fumbling with his keys as he tried to unlock the door. By the time he finally managed to get it unlocked and opened, you had grabbed the side of the door so he couldn’t close it and drive off.
“Y/n, just leave me alone, okay? I’m seriously not in the mood,” he warned, his head hung as he tried desperately to avoid eye contact with you. His voice wavered a bit and you could tell by his body language that he was pretty upset.
“No, I’m not going to leave you alone; you shouldn’t be alone right now.”
“Then get in the car because I’m not fucking staying here,” he sighed and you hesitated before moving around to the passenger seat.
“What happened?” You gently asked as he began to pull away from Tina’s house, the night that you had all been anticipating clearly ending in disaster.
“Oh, you know, just Nancy saying that our relationship is pretty much complete and utter bullshit which is what every guy wants to hear from the woman that he loves,” he replied. His announcement of his love for Nancy stung, but you pushed it aside; this wasn’t about your feelings.
“What do you mean? What’s going on? You guys always seem so happy together,” you were honestly pretty shocked. They were the perfect couple; the kind of people who would end up high school sweethearts and the talk of every high school reunion. It couldn’t possibly all be bullshit.
“The Hollands are selling their house to pay some private investigator to find Barb.”
Oh.
Your stomach dropped and suddenly your body seemed to remember the alcohol you had consumed.
“Steve, stop the car.”
“Woah, woah, woah, what’s going on? Are you—“
You cut him off, shouting “just stop the damn car! Now!” The car screeched to a halt as he slammed his foot on the brake pedal. You quickly opened the door, retching onto the desolate backroad that you were currently on. Steve rubbed big circles across your back as your stomach emptied its contents. When you were done, you shut the door, tears running down your face.
“I’m so sorry, Steve. Sometimes I just forget about all of it; push it all away because I’m not ready to handle it and I just think about what it was like to be face to face with th-that—that thing and I can’t imagine what Barb’s final moments were like and I just—“ your sobs cut you off, unable to speak through your horror in contemplating Barb’s death.
“Hey, hey, you’re okay y/n. I’m right here,” Steve reminded you, pulling you into a hug as you buried your face in his neck. He held onto you until you were able to calm down and you pulled away from him.
“I’m sorry. I monopolized your turn being the one in crisis,” you let out a weak laugh, wiping the remaining tears from your eyes as you sniffled.
“No, honestly that was helpful. I think I get where Nancy’s coming from a little better now. Maybe she didn’t really mean all that shit about us, you know?” He rationalized.
“Yeah, maybe,” you replied, your voice small.
“Hey, don’t disappear on me now. We’re handling this crisis together and we’re putting it behind us, okay? So what’s going on?”
“It’s just…I was almost her,” you whispered, looking in horror at Steve.
“What?”
“I was almost Barb. If you hadn’t shown up—“
“Y/n, don’t think like that. You can’t think like that. It’s going to eat away at you. You’re here. I’m here. And we’re okay,” it seemed like he was trying to convince himself just as much as he was trying to convince you. You nodded, not entirely persuaded but ready to be done with the conversation. “Alright, where to?”
“Just mine, you know,” you said quietly, embarrassed that Steve was going to see your house. It was dinky compared to the Harrington residence. You knew he wouldn’t care, but you couldn’t help but feel inferior.
“Sure thing,” he replied as he put the car in drive, as you both attempted to put the evening’s sourness behind you. You chatted and caught up on all of the normal things you’d missed as you’d drifted apart this past year and by the time he reached your house, you felt a little bit better about things.
If only the two of you knew about the danger that was still lurking right under your feet.

This is my last drabble request before my games take me, May I please request for a drabble between Platonic Yandere Nanami and Platonic Yandere Higuruma wherein their little Darling is eating by themselves and so those two decide to eat with her and it devolves into Nanami trying to coddle her / threaten Higuruma.
Good luck with your games buddy! Considerate it done!
Platonic Yandere Nanami/Platonic Yandere Higuruma: please eat, Darling
Tension was especially high that day.
It always was, I mean, it was something to expect. Nanami was a very neat and upright man, but also very controlling, especially with his young son (reader), whom he was unwilling to share with anyone due to his own paranoia.
so having to accept such a big adjustment as having (reader) another "father" figure in your life was definitely a difficult thing. It didn't help that both men's personalities were practically opposites and constantly clashed.
Higuruma was also fair, but he had something that Nanami didn't: make room for change and, above all, making the necessary changes to make (reader) happy.
which included undoing several of the strict rules and regulations that Nanami had implemented years ago. Obviously it wasn't easy.
This caused great chaos between both men, as although Nanami was going to *tolerate* Higuruma for (reader)'s sake, he was not willing to acknowledge that his "parenting" methods with them were wrong.
In Nanami's words, "You would only be misleading (reader), you want them to reveal themselves to us."
For a long time everything boiled down to a game of tug of war on the part of both of them for total control over (reader), if Nanami was with (reader) watching television, Higuruma would go and take them out for a walk. If Higuruma and (reader) were arguing about overprotection, Nanami would take (reader's) side.
and so on..
Although the worst was when on one occasion (reader) went too far trying to get away from the two, that they both decided that they would give him individual punishments.
Nanami went with his typical tactics, isolation, (reader) had already gotten used to having not only Nanami but also Higuruma with them, so the punishment was considerably worse than previous times.
and when he finished, (Reader) went to Higuruma for comfort, not knowing that he himself would have an impact.
He threatened to use his dominion on them if they even thought about running away again, almost killing them with fear when they saw the judge's entity... was he really serious? Would he do that to them?
which led to the current situation. Because of the severe joint punishment, now (reader) did not want to eat.
It wasn't that they couldn't, but that they were left in such an intense state of shock that every time they tried to eat they shook like jelly and couldn't even take a bite.
It got to the point that Nanami and Higuruma had to take turns spoon-feeding (reader). Under any other circumstance, Nanami would have enjoyed the moment similar to (reader's) childhood, but seeing how bad they had left (reader) this time...she didn't know how much it was appropriate to enjoy it.
Higuruma was more direct and tried to apologize to (reader) for his rudeness, let them know that he was the one who was wrong for going beyond his limits, not them. but it took quite a while until real change occurred.
During this time, surprisingly Nanami and Higuruma managed to get along better, solely because they had to in order to properly take care of (reader), but at least they weren't throwing daggers at each other anymore.
Although the real question would be when that would change.
and it happened when (reader) finally started eating on their own again.
Nanami and Higuruma were discussing (in low volume) what they were going to bring (reader) to eat now, and they heard someone moving in the kitchen.
When they went to see what was happening, they found (reader) at the table, eating a small snack that apparently they had prepared.
Nanami and Higuruma stood still for a long while before one of them took the first step towards (reader).
Higuruma stood on their left side, putting an arm around them in a half-hug as he softly congratulated them for eating on their own again.
Nanami stood on their right side, discreetly trying to remove Higuruma's arm from around (reader), while also giving soft compliments to them.
a strange duality, but the new reality of (Reader), apparently.

Shares, reglogs and comments are very welcome!
Thanks for the Request ❤️
IM SPEEED (sometimes), it Takes long to make this one and the one of Toji bc i'm now in the night schedule (fk university), but now I'm getting used to it and it's easier for me. I will try to make all the Requests that You all send. Thank You

Jonah Rant
Someone on Youtube reminded me that I rage-typed an essay-length tirade about Jonah Magnus and his status as a certified Bastard Man right after the finale. They asked if there was a chance they could see it, which was a good question because did I even still have it? Turns out: Yes! It’s evidently been chilling in Onedrive for ~2 years. So for those who wish, my thoughts regarding that awful little man are below.
Spoilers for The Magnus Archives.
I went into the finale fully ready to not hear from Jonah again. I thought ‘oh, cosmic horror, as important as he thinks he is, he’s inconsequential and John just zaps him with eye lasers or something’. I didn’t want it per se, but I thought it was plausible.
But no. Oh no. Jonah Magnus speaks again, and he hasn’t been around for all of season 5. We heard him on a recording and we heard him chanting in the background and also all distorted in a job interview flashback, but there has been no actual uncompelled words being spoken by Jonah Magnus in real time since 159.
Yes he wrote the incantation but, rather crucially, he did not read it.
I binged TMA right as it got up to the season 4 finale. I got through season 1 in one day, and season 2 the next, and then got through three and four in the days after that. I caught up just in time for 160 to drop.
So I, foolish, naïve baby that I was, had over a year to forget what this character actually sounded like, and just how much of a slimy, insufferable fucker Jonah Magnus is. Was. Bitch.
I’ve gone into this elsewhere so I won’t belabor it but one of the reasons I’m so viscerally miffed by him is because of every human character in this podcast, he is the only one that is never shown sympathetically. I’m not counting Nikola Orsinov, or NotThems, or other manifestations of the Entities. I mean of the human, or avatar-human characters he is the least grey. Morality in this show is complex and tough to think about in my brain and one of the great ways it does this is through having really layered characters with motivations that are, at least a little, understandable. Jude Perry was a violent, sadistic lady...she was also devoted to Agnes and in some ways I think you could argue they were each other’s only links to humanity until what’s-his-name came along. Coffee shop Himbo guy. Peter Lukas is a misanthrope to the max who will send people into a nether realm if they so much as look at him wrong – which is to say, look at him at all. He was also raised to know nothing but loneliness, and pursuing it was kind of the only way he ever got some sort of approval. Which also manifested as more distance.
We get these little nuggets of what brought a villain where they are now, and we certainly don’t have to excuse them, but we have some context. We have some understanding that there is humanity in there, and that understanding makes them all the more unsettling.
Not fuckin’ Jonah.
What do we know about him? He’s a couple centuries old. Great. He found out about the powers, was drawn to the eye, and decided to start body-hopping to cheat death. He’s been doing this for ages. He tried a ritual and it failed. He took his time then, plotting and planning, and being smug, and finally arriving at a hypothesis that had a lot of credence to it. Everything fell into place, he was right, its all or nothing with the entities but the Eye rules because it opened the door (or WHATEVER).
So his big motivator is he doesn’t want to die.
And you know what, this is super understandable. We don’t know what his childhood was like (Jesus, can you imagine him in a little powder wig, climbing a tree to get a high vantage point to spy on people and get blackmail on them?), but fear of death is almost universal.
And of all the billions of people on this planet, I cannot help but notice that we are not thwarting narcissistic necromancers every fifteen minutes. Because the world would have fucking exploded a long, long time ago if we had more Jonahs in it. i.e. the people who would make aggressive selfishness a full-time occupation.
There’s a sort of cocktail of shit that makes him a memorable baddie not the least of which is that he never even attempts to justify his abhorrent actions. He’s not lying to himself, or anyone else, he’s not serving a cult, or a bunch of worms. He’s in it for himself, and if he has to stack the corpses of every living thing on the planet to reach immortality he’ll fucking do it without hesitation. Couple that with his manipulations, his merciless psychological torture, and a low, smooth voice that is always so infuriatingly composed and you have a Hell of a villain.
(I maintain that one of the reasons he’s so effective is that he enunciates so carefully. He doesn’t run words together, or mumble, he never really raises his voice, he is always in control, and everything is a flex right down to the articulation. I feel like we associate crisp, clear speech with formality, presidential addresses, or theater, things like that. Where you know what you are going to say and so the recitation is more confident. We hear this happen in statements, to a certain extent, but there’s still a lot of emotional range. For 199 episodes we never heard Jonah lose this pointed, smarmy tone. People don’t talk so formally in life, or when they’re talking on the podcast. There is something unsettling and intimidating about hearing such clear and confident speech all the time. It sounds like he knows exactly what to say in any situation. It sounds like he is utterly confident in every word that leaves his mouth. It sounds like he’s in a scene and no one else got the script but him. Because that is kinda what’s going on. At the very least, he thinks that’s what’s going on)
When he drops from wherever he’s suspended in the panopticon, he, you know, sort of makes a noise because that’s gotta be jarring. And we for once, for once, for fucking ONCE hear him even vaguely uncertain. And stupido io, I thought he was finally brought low and we might get a tantrum or something.
But no. Jonah Magnus has a lot of lost time to make up for, it’s been 20 eps since he’s been able to serenade everyone with his unique brand of horny arrogance. This motherfucker has exactly a millisecond of confusion and grogginess before “I was having the most...wonderful dream”. You can hear him edging.
And he’s kiiiiind of surprised to see John by himself with a knife, but still, so blasé, so, ‘oh, is that all?’ He’s a liiiiitle regretful to hear it’s over, but immediately heads into waxing rhapsodic about seeing a thousand lifetimes and the rapture of infinite sight and suffering and other Hellraiser shit when John speaks for all of us and tells him to shut up. Yet another reason to respect him.
And John has a lovely little catharsis where he gets to tell this orchestrator of his despair that Jonah has failed because the Things that Jonah is so devoted to will die a slow death. How long has he been waiting to say that, do you think? I mean at this point there’s nothing that could do what he’s probably feeling justice but he says it himself he gets some satisfaction from “knowing that I’ll be leaving these things that you serve trapped and starving in their own private hell.”
And all Jonah has to say is: “That we serve.” To the bitter, bitter end he is determined to just...okay I was gonna say twist the knife but that seems a bit tasteless now...determined to cause even more hurt. He cannot resist, it’s kind of all he knows. He is at the edge of a cliff and taunting the person that’s about to push him off of it.
And if you ever need a posterchild for ‘hubris’ just pull up a sound clip of Jonah Magnus. He tries to play the old ‘alright, playtime’s over,’ card, brushing the dust and what-the-fuck-ever else off his suit and manipulate John again. He has the...not even audacity, he’s looped back around from being semi-omniscient, to being so confident in that omniscience he thinks he knows everything and therefore acts way more stupidly than someone without that surety. He is enough of a dipshit to try and say to John “we both know you don’t have it in you”.
Motherfucker, what have you been doing for this entire season? What have you been doing this entire show? You have purposefully created someone who has withstood the brunt of every entity and come out more or less intact. You purposefully guided him into honing his powers, and put him in a position where he has nothing to lose. Well, Martin, but Jonah can’t do anything about that. Not anymore. Because the one person who can protect Martin is coincidentally the same person who can, will, and reeeeeally wants to Kill Jonah.
“King of a ruined world and I shall never die” my ass. King? Really? You were a placeholder, my dude. The Eye didn’t give a fuck that you were at the top of the panopticon and it didn’t give a fuck when John pulled you out of it. You said it yourself, dipshit. You might have started the archives, but John IS the archives. He is the only person more powerful than Jonah and Jonah, of all people, should know this. Especially considering you could presumably see John cutting through the domains, dishing out biblical vengeance, on a warpath for your tower.
So of course, he decides to antagonize John even more if that is even possible by telling him they both know he can’t do it.
And John fucking punches him and it’s great. Extended sounds of brutal ass whooping, please and thank you.
And then we get one of two lines that sums up Jonah Magnus for me.
“P-please John, I don’t want to die”.
This guy. Who dedicated his several lives to ruling the world and feeding on everyone else’s pain. Who has committed atrocities that numerous to count and too horrible to name. Who is being confronted by the direct target of his machinations and who, I think it’s safe to say, hates him more than anyone or anything else in existence. Has the absolute fucking nerve to go “but I’m scared :(”
When he went ‘I don’t want to die’ I actually said to literally no one because I was alone in my room “HA, Fuck you.”
John puts it a bit more eloquently. “Neither did they”. Beautiful. And then he’s gutted like the repulsive little fish he is.
The second line that sums up this insufferable megalomaniac is a little earlier. It’s casual, neither of them makes a point of it. Maybe because it’s a little redundant. “Empathy only holds you back in the end”.
I don’t want to die, and Empathy only holds you back in the end.
I mean, that’s the thesis statement of the shit-eating essay that is Jonah Magnus.
He’s so far beyond regret, or anything that isn’t 100% self-motivated he cannot perceive that perhaps John will have maybe, I don’t know, changed a bit. Gotten used to horror. Killed. He cannot fathom anything outside the tower as more than a food source. He is so used to seeing people as pawns he dies not actually understanding why John killed him. “Good luck” are his last lines.
First of all, the direction is ‘wetly’ and on the one hand I know what that means, but on the other, I cannot think of a more fitting adjective to end on with this guy.
Second of all, the ambiguity of how sincere he is or isn’t being is enraging, and so classic and I hate him, which is to say fucking excellent job of writing and acting both.
He goes to his grave thinking John’s making a power grab. He cannot conceive of any other reason for John doing what he’s doing. They’re opposite ends of the spectrum. One who can think of no one but himself, and one who will sacrifice himself because he’s thinking of everyone else. You know how matter can’t be created or destroyed? I think guilt might be the same way. And Jonah found a handy receptacle for all the guilt he doesn’t have time for and that receptacle is named Jonathan Sims head Archivist of The Magnus Institute.
What a good villain. What an infuriatingly mellifluous bitch. The thinks he’s King of the World, he thinks he’s going to get such special treatment, he thinks consequences apply to everyone but him, he thinks this is a game he can win when he doesn’t even know what the fuck he’s playing.
As much as he looked at John and went “perfect, an insecure idiot”, the Web looked at him and went “perfect, a pompous ass”. He wanted to live forever, but now he’s dead. And he doesn’t even get to live on in memory. No one knew he was up there. No one remembered Elias, let alone Jonah. You think Georgie, Melanie, Rosie, and Basira are going to tell the world about him? What would be the point?
Congratulations, Jonah. You tried to ensure your immortality and ended up ensuring that you died both literally and figuratively. Before it got yeeted into another dimension The End must have had a fucking Field Day the second his heart stopped beating.
What a bastard. What an unfathomable bastard. Like he really thought this would all work out for him, that he was the most Important Thing in the world when, at best, at best he was a glorified fucking contact lens.
Ass.

Ive become such a big fan of your writing and of so many of your ocs!! Incredibly down bad for several beans i wanna give em all a leetol forehead smooch
Heres some silly questions!
- for gemini/gemi , how would they react to havin a short lover ;v; imagining the size difference kills me!!
- BALLPIT ELDRITCH GOD AAA, i wanna give all their hands highfives!!! Would they be down for silly hand games ?( like rock paper scissors!)
- For Cholly! If they ever became the equivalent of a sexy tumblrman..whats their reaction?
Thank you again for your amazing writing!! I hope u have a good day!!! 💜💝💜
Gemi/Gemini: Unless they're a supernatural entity themselves, the twins' darling will always be shorted with how big they are expect for human form where they're somewhere over 6 ft. To answer your question - they love it. All Gemini thinks about is drowning you in kisses and carrying you around like the doll you are to them - but fears hurting you and also wants to somewhat respect your personal space. With Gemi, you never leave their arms and they will get pouty if you try to get around without them.
Both love making outfits for you, and they always fall in love all over again seeing you nestled in their feathers in bed or whenever they're taking a break from a long day at the lab
Ball pit entity: They would be delighted! Anything that's gets you to stay longer and interact with them is their new favorite passtime, but games are always so fun. I imagine a silly scenario where you battle from all at once and they'd either all lose to make you happy or win if the prize was getting you to stick around even longer
Cholly: Like some real life celebrities, they'd be deeply flattered, but try not to pay too much mind as they're already happily married to the love of their live if they had a darling beforehand. If their darling was one of these fans Cholly would sit on your bed, kicking their feet, reading aloud every little thing you've posted about them or reenacting scenes from fics/art you've posted or reblogged.
Reboot Cholly is pretty much the same, but that cocky brat will drop not so subtle hints to fans. -
"I'm glad you think I'm attractive. That's something you - and my even hotter spouse have in common."

@jegulus-microfic february 2 / cheat / 975 words / fear, love, and a big ole surprise <3
“Regulus!” James exclaims, exasperated.
“What, James? You’ve been gone for hours! What—like? Probably out with someone else. Doing fuck knows what, and I’m just—”
“I’m sorry?” James interrupts, holding up a hand in a pause motion. “Are you insinuating that I went out to cheat on you?”
Regulus can’t help the way his lower lip quivers at the question. Because, yes. That’s exactly where his mind went. Today was supposed to be their day. Even if it meant just staying home and watching a film together. Instead, James had been gone for most of the afternoon, leaving Regulus alone with an abundant amount of fear and an overactive mind.
“Yeah, I mean—” Regulus sniffles, pushing himself up against the wall. “I’m not—yeah. That’s what I thought.”
James shoulders slump, his features softening as he sees how small Regulus is making himself. Turning his other cheek, too embarrassed to show his face to James. It’s cruel, shameful that his mind would go to any other place than the love James has for him.
Showing him time and time again. With the softest touches and most tender of looks. Simple acts of kindness and adoration. How could Regulus ever think something so awful?
It stems from a place of self-doubt. On the notion that he doesn’t believe he deserves this kind of love. So sacred and precious. A divine entity encompassing him in a hug. Gracing him with infinite glory.
“Regulus, my love,” James whispers, taking a tentative step closer to the man pressed firmly against the wall. With a gentle hand, he guides Regulus’ face to look at him.
Cheeks tear stained, eyes red and puffy from the past thirty minutes of wallowing in sadness, fearing that James would come back wanting him even less. He swallows thickly, finally meeting the eye of the man in front of him.
“Where were you?” Regulus asks, voice coming out far more broken than he intended.
The pad of James’ thumb sweeps over his cheekbone, head cocking to the side. “I had some business to attend to. You know I love you, right?”
The silence shared between the two of them lasts longer than James has the patience for.
“Regulus Arcturus Black, I love you with my whole heart.” James uses his free hand to take Regulus’ in his own. “Every bit of me belongs to you. You have my heart. Since day one, I knew I was going to absolutely gone for you. One look, and you stole my heart.”
Regulus peers up at James from under dark lashes. Wide, glassy eyes searching for the truth across James’ face. It’s there; bright as day. Earnestness in his eyes, nothing but pure honestly.
“And every day after that,” James continues, nodding his head. “Every day after that I’ve fallen even more hopelessly in love with you. I see you in everything. Every color. Every smile. Every face. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone but you, my love.”
“Jamie,” Regulus whispers, squeezing his hand tighter around James’.
“Please, let me tell you how much I love you. Let me show you.” James drops his hand from Regulus’ face. Still with Regulus’ hand in his, he drops to the floor on one knee, staring adoringly up at the man before him.
Eyes impossibly wide, breath hitching in Regulus’ throat, he starts shaking his head in disbelief.
“James, no. No, no, no,” he chants, feeling a new round of tears flooding his vision.
“This isn’t how I planned on it, baby. But right now, at this moment, I’m more ready than I’ve ever been.” With his other hand, he pulls a small black, velvet box from his pocket, holding it between his fingers right in Regulus’ line of sight.
“James,” Regulus repeats, voice barely audibly. Head too full of cotton to comprehend what is going on.
“This is where I was today. Picking up this. Finalizing it all. Because you, Regulus, you are it for me. Nothing in this world shines as bright as you. It’s an honor to love someone as beautiful as you. Having you in my life, lighting it up with so much joy and love. I don’t want to keep living without you by my side. Forever,” James states with confidence, looking up at Regulus with expectant eyes.
Regulus is sure he looks like an absolute mess right now. Eyes puffy and cheeks ruddy. Dressed lazily in sweatpants and his favorite of James’ jumpers. But then there’s James. Open and honest. Professing his love to Regulus with everything inside his chest. Holding a godforsaken ring box between the two of them.
That’s when the tears start falling from his eyes again.
“So, Regulus, my love, my star, my everything,” James speaks, using his thumb to pry open the lid of the box revealing a single silver band with three embedded diamonds. “Will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
Unable to speak, mouth falling open and closed, floundering like a fish, all Regulus manages is a fierce nod, practically jumping right into James’ arms. Arms wrapping tightly around the other man’s neck. A set of strong arms wraps around his middle, cradling him close.
“Regulus, baby, is that a yes?” James murmurs against the top of Regulus’ head, nose buried in dark curls.
“Fuck,” Regulus chokes out, pressing his lips against the warm skin of James’ neck, nodding once more. “A million times yes. Always.”
A moment goes by of them holding each other, rocking back and forth until Regulus pulls away, heart hammering in his chest. He holds out his hand, palm down, for James. In turn, James pulls the ring from the box, sliding it onto its rightful spot.
For a love like this only comes once in a lifetime, and Regulus knows he would find James in every life after this one.

Once again, the young girl had found herself in an unknown and most likely inconvenient place to arrive in this new world if the storage boxes piled in the small room and the sound of waves heard nearby was anything to go by. However, there was no chaos going on that the small girl could see, unlike previous universes, so that small detail reassured her.
That thought and reassurance were swiftly shut down as chaos arrived in the form of two brawling men knocking into the stack of boxes right behind her, a squeal escaping her at their sudden entrance and collision, jumping away just as the boxes crashed down.
The two men instantly stop their antics as the childish scream echoes in the ship’s storage room.
“What was that?” questions Thatch
“It sounded like a kid?” Ace said, looking around and spotting a small child rapidly getting up from the ground; he stared at her for a few seconds before grinning.
“Oyaji is gonna be ecstatic; we’ve got ourselves a small stowaway!”
The child is quick to run away from the two Commanders, too spooked by the clash to stop at the call of the two pirates.
You see a large hand wrap around the bottom of the storage box you were hiding in and being slowly lifted.
Thatch lifts the box above his head so the kid is at face level.
When she makes eye contact with Thatch, she sees a bright, friendly, goofy smile.
“Heeey! Whatcha doing down there?” He says with glee, a big grin across his face, the corner of his eyes crinkling, and he raises his eyebrows, seeming to be having a good time
The five-year-old girl screeches, startling Thatch and causing him to lose hold of the box, dropping It to the ground; a whine escapes the girl as she falls along with the box
She backs away until her back hits a wall, completely trapped. Nowhere left to go, she waits in fear, her mind racing.
“Hey, Hey, we don’t mean no harm! We just had a bad beginning; we didn’t mean to crash into you like that. I’m sorry we must have frightened you, right?”
He takes one long, slow step to stand over her. He is much taller than most people and looks down at her as he squats down to her level.
She looks up a him, taking in his words and nodding slowly.
Ace approaches her, squatting next to Thatch to stare at her.
Blenheim walks through a door into the storage room.
“Hey, I heard a noise, everything all right here?”. Blenheim asks with a slightly concerned look on his face. He is about to speak again when he sees the small girl cowering on the floor. “
“Who is this?” He asks gruffly, walking closer to the girl
“We found a Stowaway”
From Alexandra’s shadow, a cat-like entity seems to materialize, a body made of shadows with a Maine-coon appearance, Antlers in between his ears, frontal hooves, and lateral paws, and two tails swaying dangerously behind him, ready to protect Alexandra.
“Back away from her,” Rogue growls
Thatch raises his hands in surrender, backing away from Alexandra. He still has a cheerful grin as he stands back up.
He appears surprised by this shadow cat entity, looking at it with a curious grin. He looks between Alexandra and Rogue, waiting to see what will happen next.
“Don’t touch her,” he snarls at the three men who remain in front of the five-year-old.
Blenheim takes a deep breath, seemingly at the end of his patience.
“All I did was walk in, and you yell at Me?” He says, trying to stay calm. His expression changes to a stern look as if to say, ‘I have no problem getting violent; try me.’
“Listen up. I am a commander on this ship, and it is My job to protect the the ship and the people in it. Do you have a problem with that?” He asks, his voice sounding calm, but his stare is fierce and intimidating
“Don’t care who you are. I’m not letting anyone lay a hand on her,” he hisses, standing in front of Alexandra protectively.
Blenheim expression changes to one of bewilderment, his eyes widening. He looks at Rogue again, looking him up and down, seemingly looking for any sign of weakness.
“I don’t know who you think you are, but you’re about to learn a lesson you’ll never forget. You have two seconds to leave this ship before I get violent.” He growls at Rogue, waiting for a response
“Hey, now I’m sure we can talk this out!” Ace cuts in
Alexandra squeaks, running to take hold of Rogue and making a run for it, hiding deeper in the storage area with her familiar
Thatch Blenheim and Ace turn to look at Alexandra and Rogue in astonishment.
Thatch frowns as he sees the girl run off. He glances back to Blenheim.
“We’ll handle it!” He exclaims as He leans forward and makes a little gesture with his hands
Ace takes one last look at Rogue and Alexandra before looking at Thatch, making a chasing motion with his hands as he takes off after them.
Ace’s footsteps shake the storage area as he takes off after them. Thatch follows up behind, still with a big grin on his face.

Why you?
(god donnie x reader)
~~•~~
Just a short story after reading this post, and my hand slipped after that
Whoopssie daisy,my bad
Tumblr media
~~•~~
You wondered what had driven you on doing this, what persuaded you on seeking the one that was impossible to achieve, especially if it was guarded from the god who owns it.
But now your here, standing dumbfounded as you eyed the impossibly large library, wondering how you had even achieved this, and the large statue in the center was just really creepy for some reason.
You had no courage to look at it long as you should, just enough to know that this looks like the god of knowledge itself, praying to the heavens that he doesn’t found you trespassing in his own sanctuary.
“You’ve finally arrived”
A voice spoke, deep that made your bones sink,a presence that turned your blood ice. With instinct and known traditions, you quickly turned and bowed with both your knees, planting your hands firmly in the ground as your head was just the same.
“Oh Omniscient one, please please forgive me for my trespass,I mean no harm to your sanctuary and only entered with peace”
You pleaded, you were a hard stone person with a life of hardness but you still begged with your life, waiting patiently if the entity in front of you kills you or spares you
He who owned this place, the one that made sure to keep this place hidden from mortals, the one that even made foolish ones disappear with a flick of a finger without a single trace when they dare enter here.He who had a temper of fire, with an untrusting heart that was the sole reason why he made this sanctuary hidden,he who was cold and unforgiving. He who was the god of knowledge,of science,of math,of facts,of the universe’s every mystery, the one that knows all,the omniscient one.
You felt no pain
You instead felt a warm hand cup your jaw gently, rough and large, lifting your head slowly to make you look at him,white-full eyes staring directly at you like a scientist watching their experiment. Some say his eyes were nothing but pure steal coldness,a gaze that could make anyone quiver when made mad.But it was nothing like this, soft and genuine and just filled with emotions you did not know he had.He was so tall too, like a thick boa snake with hard muscles and a shell,he was kneeling with one knee but you had to crank your neck so far that it started to hurt, but even with his gentle gaze, you still were frozen from fear.
“Oh such sweet sweet words of pleas,I’m so aghast that you were able to recognize me”
He tilts his head, barely so but his hood swayed down to know that he did,a smirk plastered in his mouth but you couldn’t put your finger on what emotions was hidden from it,his thumb softly swiping a corner of your lips
“But don’t be afraid,I’m not going to kill you.I’ve waited patiently for you to finally arrive here,I could have helped you but what’s the fun on that?”
That confused you, immediately a thousands of questions roaming your head as you just looked at him with wide eyes, your surprise was obvious that he chuckled low.He lets go of your face but you kept it in position, standing up to loam over you, like a mountain. The long fabric wrapping around him followed his movements, like it was just his extra limbs, you even swore you felt one of his scarf fabric graze your face like a teasing caress. You had already heard the sound of slithering before you felt a scale of coldness in your arms, you didn’t have to look to know that a snake was cozily in-circling your arm, tongue flickering in and out before it touches your cheek, snout touching the skin slightly before it wraps around your neck, burying inside your collarbone.
“You’ll find this little guy a big help on leading you to whatever you want in this place, just tell him and he’ll understand”
The imposing figure in front of you spoke again, already in a motion to turn around and leave you just like that.
“Wait!”
You quickly shouted with a swift stand up,he stopped and waited, glancing at you blankly over his shoulders. You looked at him with a confused stare and looked at the snake wrapped snuggly in your neck,so many questions in your mind.
“W-Why..-“
“Why what?,speak on,I don’t have all day even if I hate it”
You swallowed every ounce of courage you have before you spoke again.
“Why are helping me?”
You swore you saw him go tight still, but it must have been only for a few seconds before he relaxed again and chuckled lightly, the sound that you didn’t expect.
“My dear,My dear,My dear sweet clueless dear,I’m helping you to make sure you get the answer you have always wanted to know, what else?”
Turning around completely but he stayed at his spot, tilting his head with raised brows.
“Isn’t that why you came here?”
That…wasn’t the answer you have expected from him,you looked down at your feet before looking back at him, still so confused
“But why?,I thought you hid this place to not let mortals find it,why are you letting me inside instead?”
He looked none bothered,he didn’t react and just stayed in his current emotions.
“Why not?,I am the god of knowledge,I help to whosoever wanted a question answered,is that not true?”
But why you?,Out if every single mortal in earth, why did he accept you?
Silence,he took it as a ‘No’
“Any more questions?”
Silence.”No”
He smiles,nodding.”Good.Now then,go ahead and search what you need, the little snake would help you tour around if you ever get lost.Just tell him what you need and he’ll lead the way,he understands human language.”
With that,he disappears like smoke, leaving you dumbfounded
Do you trust the word he says?,Y/N
Why even you?

Prev Part | Next Part
The man kneeling at Nikto’s feet is quivering like a leaf in the breeze, head pressed to the floor in a deeply exaggerated bow. It does little to quell the simmering rage that burns just under his skin, leaving him to huff out a plume of smoke in his agitation. Clearly, this pathetic excuse for a human doesn’t understand what kind of situation he’s in.
“Mighty Zmei, forgive me for failing you,” the irritating cretin pleads, “allow me to try again, I can do better!”
He can’t help the growl that rumbles out of him, one of his lips curling to show off his pointed canine. “You offered a life, willingly given, in exchange for your own,” he hisses, starting to circle the human, “you think I cannot take a human if I desire one?” Petrov jumps at his sharp tone, mouth opening and closing silently.
“O-Of course not, I-”
“You think I am a fool? You would try to deceive me? To break your word by offering the life of another who has not agreed?” His words get louder with each passing syllable, sharp teeth now on full display in a horrifying snarl.
“Never, All Powerful Zmei! I could never hope to trick someone so wise!” the coward grovels, stinking of fear.
The black shepherd dog snaps it’s jaws at the man’s face and the raven, perched on one of the chairs, caws angrily. The animals are growing restless at the clear disrespectful behaviour of the human, goading Nikto into action. “We have given you a chance to repay us, the deal is off.”
It seems Petrov has some spine, for the man straightens, “merciful Zmei, to throw away the years of work I have dedicated to you, it would-it would be foolish!”
The heads of all three dark figures, man, bird and dog, all snap to glare at the human. “We are no fool!” their voices join together, speaking as one entity. Their bodies have begun to shift, twisted and drawing together, the lines between the three different creatures growing blurred. “We require your services no longer.”
Minutes later, Nikto, the dog and the raven stand together in the street. They watch as the house belonging to Petrov burns steadily, flames casting dancing shadows across the nearby houses. The smoke does not bother them, nor the heat.
Eventually, they turn to leave.
The raven flies off ahead, while the man and dog walk. “Return to the female. She is oblivious, too fragile to be near so many Fae,” he spits the word in disgust.
“Would such a weak creature be a suitable mate?” the dog replies, an exact copy of Nikto’s voice.
He simply snorts, “we are strong enough for the two of us,” he says simply. The two part ways, Nikto to return to their home and the dog to return to his duty protecting their newest prize.
When the sun rises, you wake with a large, furry body pressed up against you. It startles you, until you recall the events of yesterday. You had been exhausted after returning home, emotionally and physically drained from needing to walk so far back to your home after enduring such a terrifying encounter. The dog had refused to leave when you’d tried to shoo it away and, reluctantly, you decided to allow the canine into your home.
It would be wrong for you to abandon the poor dog after it had followed you all the way back to your house. The man who owned him was a creep, but you couldn’t find it in you to leave an innocent dog out in the street where anything could happen to it.
The dog in question wriggles about slightly to get comfortable, kicking you with big paws while whining loudly. Clearly, he was unhappy with you disturbing his rest, because he rolls over, putting his back to you with a rather dramatic sigh. It’s admittedly rather adorable, even if you don’t recall inviting the animal into your bed. The blanket you’d put on the floor for him is untouched, clearly not good enough for the massive ball of black fur.
“You need to go home, buddy,” you mumble, stroking the animal’s silky fur. You know it’s not safe to have an unknown dog in your home at all, let alone sharing your bed, but you get the feeling you aren’t in any real danger.
This thought is confirmed when the dog turns its head to try and nose at your fingers, offering them a small lick.
When you finally gather the strength needed to get out of bed, the dog is more than happy to follow after you, hopping down from the mattress and onto the floor with a loud thump. It treks through the house, patiently watching while you complete your morning routine.
You don’t have any dog food in the house, so you offer him some leftovers from your dinner a few nights ago after ensuring there isn’t anything poisonous to dogs in it. He doesn’t seem to mind the food, snapping it up at rapid speed.
Not needing to be at work (and not planning on going back), you’re sitting comfortably on the living room couch, a warm drink in hand, while your canine companion takes up the rest of the couch. You had attempted to tell him not to climb on the cushions, not wanting dog hair shedding all over everything, but your words fell on deaf ears. So now, you sit on the furthermost cushion with the dog resting its huge head on your thigh.
After a little bit of Googling on your phone, you believe you’ve figured out what breed the dog is. He’s huge and fluffy, clearly built for a cold climate and likely a livestock guardian dog of some kind. It took a while, but you managed to narrow it down to a Caucasian shepherd thanks to the abundance of pictures on Google Images.
He’s sweet, but you’re not sure you’d be able to afford to feed such a huge dog, especially now you’re abandoning your job. It would be best for you to drop the dog off at the local vet. He’s probably microchipped, and if not, you’re sure they’ll be able to track the owner down. Such a huge dog is probably fairly memorable to someone who will know how to find his owner.
You’re startled from your peaceful morning by a knocking at your door.
The dog leaps to his feet, scampering to the front door with a snarl on his face. He starts barking, pacing back and forth. You’re a little anxious to try and get between the dog and the door, but he thankfully seems to back off once you draw close.
When you pull the door open, you’re met by a police officer. “Good morning, miss,” the man seems anxious, glancing warily at the massive dog growling at him from behind you.
“Hi,” you greet slowly, unsure, “is there something I can help you with?”
After confirming your identity, the man sighs softly, offering you a sympathetic smile, “I’m very sorry, but I’m here to inform you that your employer, Mister Petrov unfortunately passed away last night.” You blink at that, swallowing nervously, but the man must not notice, for he continues, “there was a fire at his apartment block.”
“Oh... that’s horrible...” you’re not sure how to respond to that, stunned.
Were you responsible for what happened? Was the strange, masked man, Nikto, responsible? A nervous sweat breaks out across your forehead.
“A lawyer will be around shortly to discuss the assets afforded to you.”
“The assets?” you asks.
“Ah, yes, it appears Mister Petrov left you some of his assets in his will, miss,” the officer smiles, oblivious to your internal battle. He offers you a brief farewell that you numbly return before leaving you once more to your own devices.
The dog offers you a bark, nudging at your side when you continue to stare after the officer’s retreating form, snapping you out of your stupor. With a deep sigh, you step back into your home and close the door. You gently lean your head against the door, taking a moment to collect yourself.
When you turn around, the dog is staring at you intensely.
“What?” you ask him with a snort, as though he could actually respond to you.
“You are a strange human,” the dog says.
You faint on the spot.

Houseki no Kuni Chapter 103 Thoughts: Can't Stop the Inevitable But It'll Be OK (Maybe...)
Hello hello hello. Long time no see, Houseki no Kuni fandom! How have you all been? It's been a while. That hiatus Ms. Haruko Ichikawa took much longer than expected. That's fine by me because I've been pretty busy these past few months. Mostly the usual stuff; had some major ups and downs for me and those who I care about, annoying work/life events, though I had the wonderful opportunity to branch out and meet people who could help me with my career, found some new stuff to obsess over, etc. I honestly forgot about Houseki no Kuni for a little while until I saw the announcement about the latest chapter.
And now here we are.
This chapter was very dialogue heavy, though fairly straightforward. It seems to confirm some of the thoughts and theories other fans and myself had made back in chapter 102, though I left me asking a few new questions. They aren't big questions, but I just can't help but wonder...
This will definitely be one of my shorter posts because I don't have any big analytical thoughts here, just with lots of pictures from the chapter, so I'll make sure to add the spoiler tag. As always, please feel free to share your own thoughts in this post and sorry in advance for any mistakes or ramblings. Might add more later, but I can't promise anything.
Anyways, here we go!
Tumblr media
It'll Be OK: Liberation Of Internalized Suffering
The interaction in this chapter was interesting. Like I stated above, this chapter confirms that Phos is scared of corrupting the new rock species or being the catalyst that would cause humanity to come back. They don't want to be the source of suffering again, even if it meant destroying the very last remaining piece of their original self. They were ready to do whatever it took to prevent that from happening, even by having the entity who hated humanity do the deed.
But what surprised me a little in this chapter was Eyeball. For one, even though he could have fulfilled Phos's request, he didn't. He claims that there's only a trace of humanity on Phos's remaining piece, but states that it'd go away over time, therefore there's no reason to destroy it, even though Phos initially wanted that. I'll get back to this part later.
The other thing that surprised me was how Eyeball was able to placate Phos's current mindset, at least for a little bit, and he do it in an interesting way. Eyeball basically told Phos "Hey, your fear might come true... but it'll be okay. If if comes to that, I'll figure something out. And you shouldn't worry too much about it even if it happens because all things will come to an end one day, including us, and things will start over again in some way. There's no point in stressing about that future, so don't worry about it."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In some ways, I kind of see this as Eyeball liberating Phos by taking some of their burdens onto himself by him stating that he'd be the one to figure out what to do if humanity did come back, not Phos, all the while dispelling Phos's other concerns by stating that Phos shouldn't waste their time worrying about what could happen. Phos's fears might come true... but so what? That's just how things go. Somethings are just out of your control and change is inevitable. Yes, it's stressful to worry about but that's just how it is. That's the strange beauty of it all, at least that's how I see it.
Tumblr media
And I don't know about you, but I just really liked Eyeball's monologue through these pages.
In the end, I think this interaction helped Phos by the fact that despite their fears, they chose to tell the pebbles about what the Professor said and humanity. Because even though Phos understands that humanity is capable of doing horrible things, thanks to their own experience as a sufferer and perpetrator, they also understand that there are parts of humanity that is capable of creating wonderful things. I'm glad that Phos is the one who wants to take this task. Despite everything, Phos is taking it upon themselves to be the one to teach these aspects to the pebbles so they can have the freedom to figure out how they can learn and evolve from this point onwards. It may lead to a better version of "humanity" or it could lead to something very similar. Who knows? But at least Phos is (hopefully) giving them what they need to figure themselves out.
Tumblr media
What will come from this interaction is anyone's guess and I'm hoping we will soon see within the next, and hopefully last, couple of chapters.
The Last Piece Of The Past: Why Keep it?
Tumblr media
One of the things that this chapter left me questioning was the final piece of the original Phosphophyllite. Not only is this the last remainder of Phos, but it may be the very last piece of the last human descendants; not just for the gems, but for the admirabilis and the lunarians. If what Eyeball said about the Lunarians intentionally leaving a piece of Phos's untarnished self behind is true, my question.. is why? Why did they leave this behind in Phos?
Was this for Phos's benefit somehow? Is it supposed to remind them of their origins or who they represented they obtained their final deity form? Or is the piece supposed to serve as some sort of artifact that could be beneficial for future organisms that would form over the course of time?
At this point, I have no clue. If anyone has any theories, please feel free to add them or post them!
Until Next Time! (Hopefully sooner than 4 months...)
That's honestly all that I have at this point in time for this post. I may come back to it and add more, but I can't promise anything. I don't know how my future posts for the hopefully last chapters will go, but I'll be honest... I can't wait to see it end. I enjoyed this story and I'm still looking forward to see what happens next, but I'm ready to it end.
For those of you who like these rambles, thank you so much! I still love seeing everyone's thoughts and I can't wait to see what people think of this chapter.
Hopefully this will be the last hiatus Ms. Ichikawa will have and we'll be facing the true final stretch of this story.
Or maybe we'll face another hiatus after another couple of chapters.
We'll see.
See you later!

There’s a lot of gatekeeping and weirdly defined rules in the occult and spiritual spaces. I’m just gonna go ahead and say something that might ruffle some feathers, but hopefully it helps some confused or anxious folks out.
I see a lot of posts online and get a lot of questions about entities. Mainly “is it okay for me to work with this entity?” because of xyz reasons.
Firstly, let’s make something very clear. Cultural appropriation has a very specific definition. Cultural appropriation takes place when members of a majority group adopt cultural elements of a minority group in an exploitative, disrespectful, or stereotypical way.
I say this as a person of color that understands the negative impacts of cultural appropriation and racism. This may not be the popular opinion, but I don’t think that honouring or worshipping a God privately and quietly qualifies as this. There’s a big difference between appropriating a culture and their customs and worshipping a God you feel connected to.
So having said this, if you feel like a God, angel, daemon, or entity is reaching out to you… seriously dude just go with it. We can’t control which things pull us and which entities interact with us. To many of them, we’re all just humans. Our ideas of race and ethnicity are extremely wishy washy, especially on a universal scale. If you feel deeply connected to a deity or concept, let yourself fall into them. Seriously, genuinely. Learn as much about the as you can, do your research, and go with it.
If you’re ever anxious about revealing that entity to others because of fear of judgement or criticism, give them a personal name.
I can’t say this loud enough,
GIVE THEM A PERSONAL NAME!!
Within religion, spirituality, and the occult, we use archetypes all the time. Cultures constantly share archetypes and give them personal names in their languages. The God that you’re thinking about was likely syncretized at one point too.
If you want to work with Aphrodite but don’t feel comfortable calling her Aphrodite, call her something that feels right to you. If you feel extremely connected to Isis but you don’t feel comfortable using an Egyptian name, then give her a personal name! Your connection with that God will be all the more personal.
The Gods like, and sometimes demand worship. Their phonetic names are not the totality of their being. Chances are most of us aren’t even pronouncing them correctly anyways. If you think about Inanna when you say that name, then you’re praying to Inanna. If you want to call her something else, that’s okay.
“What about closed religions?!”
It is nearly impossible to self initiate oneself into a closed religion because their customs are kept niche to their group. Without guidance you wouldn’t know how to do these things properly. If you feel a pull towards an entity from another culture, again, do your damn homework, don’t just rush into it. Be considerate and respectful of their origins. I’m not saying that their cultural origin is unimportant, because it definitely is and your understanding and acknowledgment of that is crucial, but that does not necessarily mean that you have to be Canaanite or Phoenician to worship or work with Astarte. Understand how they were worshipped back then, and how they wish to be honoured now.
Please understand that having a relationship with a God is not the same thing as converting into a religion or appropriating traditional customs. Not all religion is organized. I worship Aphrodite in a very non traditional way according to the Greeks. That’s okay.
And likewise, a lot of deeply closed entities with specific cultural ties simply don’t reach out to people outside of their niche. They have their chosen people and stay within their realm of influence. It’s extremely rare for the Loa to connect with non voodoo practitioners, and Voodoo is a very complex practice that requires specific sacrifices and rituals. It is ill advised to make offerings to vodous without divination and instruction. It’d be very unobtainable for most people. I say this as someone with a practicing Voodoo/Obeah bloodline, even I don’t feel secure enough to delve into that kind of magick by myself.
There’s a lot of high tensions on the internet when it comes to these things. I’ve seen posts (mostly on Reddit) of practitioners heartbroken that they have to break up with Lilith, their angels, their infernals, or some other deity because they got chastised for it online.
I think the immortality of our Gods is beautiful. While many of their original chosen people are long gone, they still live on and find ways to connect with humanity today. That is a very good thing.
So guys, honestly, unless you’re excited to share your path with others and ready to receive criticism, keep your Gods to yourself. Enjoy and worship them on your own, and if you feel compelled to discuss them just give them a personal name. If your God is Hekate and you feel compelled to give her a personal name, just say that your deity is similar to Hekate whenever you discuss them. It’s that easy. There are already a thousand different Hekates that people associate with. There’s no reason why you can’t create one more.
Please enjoy your practice and your faith. Don’t worry so much about everyone else. The Gods know who you are, and they want to connect with you because they really like who you are. That’s a very very good thing.

The mystery of the giggling cape
For DPxDC Week!
Day 3: Eldritch Entities
[Read on AO3]
---
There was a giggle in the Justice League meeting room, but Batman didn’t stop talking. He did make a movement inside his cape, and the giggle stopped. Since it didn’t happen again, the others decided to ignore it - Bats was weird and he never explained anything that didn’t concern a mission, so why bother?
Except it happened again, about five minutes later. The giggling was so loud that they couldn’t ignore it anymore.
Superman cleared his throat, and Batman stopped talking.
“Yes? Any questions?”
Supes did that smile when he wanted to pry into B’s private business but didn’t want him to go nuclear. “Do you hear the giggling?”
It was a trick question, of course. Everyone could hear it, and it came from inside Batman’s cape, but he wanted to give the man the option to explain at his own pace.
Instead, he held his gaze and with a completely steady heartbeat said: “No.”
Someone snorted.
“Okay.” Clark didn’t want to fight. For real. “Do you, or do you not, have a child in the cape?”
“I do not.”
There was more giggling, child’s laughter, from inside the cape.
Diana pinched the bridge of her nose. “Is that a new Robin? You know that-”
“No, it isn’t.” Batman flinched, realizing too late that by saying that he was admitting there was a child in his cape. “It’s nothing. Let’s continue.”
Something moved in the cape, making the man tense. He hummed for a moment, and whoever was inside hummed back, the sound slightly high pitched, but not quite a kid’s voice.
The situation was starting to turn from adorable to suspicious.
“Bruce?”
Batman glared at Diana. He may have revealed his identity willingly, but still didn’t like that people used his civilian name while he was on the suit.
“It’s nothing.”
“That didn’t sound like ‘nothing’ to me.” Green Arrow, who didn’t fear death, leaned in. “Batsy, if you brought an unknown to the Watchtower we have to know. It’s the rules.”
“Rules you created.” Barry said, munching on some jerky. He flinched when Batman glared at him. “Just sayin’”
Batman sighed, finally putting down the tablet he had in his hands and opening the cape. They couldn’t see much, the fabric was as dark inside as it was outside.
“You can come out, they won’t hurt you.” He said in a soft voice, the one he reserved for children, confirming that he had a child in there.
Two glowing eyes materialized in the darkness, but no child stepped out from the cape.
“Hello, little one.” Superman stood up and approached slowly, trying to appear as harmless as he could. He knew he was big and scary, even if he was a hero.
He didn’t get a response, but more of that humming. Now that the cape was open, they could hear some layers to the voice; the high pitched child’s voice, but a deeper and richer voice as well, and behind both, a sound like static on the radio.
“My name is Clark,” he tried again. The eyes closed with more humming. Batman jumped.
“He says his name is Danny.”
Why can’t he speak on his own? Some of the present Leaguers thought.
“Danny is… we found him,” Bruce’s face, even hidden under the cowl, turned dark. “He was not fine. Hasn’t been for a while. But he was curious and wanted to come with me. Apparently, he likes the stars.”
At the mention of the stars, the child, or whatever that was in the cape, got excited. It chirped, purred and moved around in the shadows.
“We can take a break and give him a tour,” Diana approached as well, excited at the idea of teaching a child. She didn’t miss Bruce’s vagueness explaining who Danny was, though, but interrogation could wait.
“Danny would like that, except…”
Bruce opened the cape more, revealing a vast darkness even under the strong lights inside the Watchtower. It wasn’t natural darkness, or a normal shadow - what they saw inside his cape was a wall of pure nothingness that reflected no light.
And it was watching them.
Two eyes opened in the darkness, but they weren’t close or at the same height.
“Danny has taken refuge inside the cape, his form too weak to maintain humanoid shape.”
The darkness giggled with that layered voice, the eyes moving around in the lining of Batman’s cape to look at all of them.
“He says hello.”
Superman looked at his friend. “But he didn’t say anything?”
Batman nodded. “He has limited telepathy abilities as long as you are close. He can communicate concepts, ideas, and some words, but it makes him tired if he tries to speak.”
“Can I have a look?” J’onn stood up but didn’t approach, his eyes fixed on the black mass that inhabited Batman’s cape.
Danny seemed to like it, because they heard more of that creepy purring. More eyes opened too, these new ones fixed on the martian with an intensity that the league member held without difficulty.
“He likes you.”
J’onn nodded, taking that as a yes, and approached.
He extended a hand towards the darkness, checking with Batman if it was okay, and when he nodded he let his hand touch-
Memories. Emotions. Voices.
J’onn closed his eyes, trying to make sense of everything he was getting from this unknown entity.
Danny’s memories were fuzzy, but had more detail than what you would expect from a child’s mind. Also he didn’t have a hold on them as the memories came and went, the emotions tied to those vivid and raw.
Danny was not a child, and even scarier, he had been once human.
He had suffered. Somehow, sometime in his childhood, he had been hurt so badly and for so long that his mind and body were irreversibly transformed. It wasn’t innocence what made him act like a child, but a mental block that kept all the pain at bay to give him time to recuperate from what has been done to him.
J’onn quietly and carefully withdrew from his mind, no need to change it if he was protecting himself just fine, and looked at his colleague.
“Did you know-”
“Yes.”
Batman’s jaw was locked in place.
The martian nodded. “I hope justice has been served.”
“It will be.” The threat floated in the air for a few seconds.
The others looked at the exchange with different degrees of confusion, but if they wanted to discuss more serious things, they knew it would have to wait.
“So.” Diana clapped her hands, a soft smile on her lips. “About that tour…”
Danny chirped, excited, and an answering smile with sharp teeth manifested from the darkness.

We are past the red! From this point on I am just doing everything I can to heal the characters and fix the timeline, if there is any form of angst after this point it wont be any worse than what happened in arc 1

I would call it less connection, and more the feeling that he simply is Big Leo. Everything he learned, he learned from Big Leo. Everything he did for Sprout, Sprout is now doing for Poptart, yknow the cycle and everything

Ho boy! Caffeine can do numbers to you!
Anyways it took control of bodies it consumed, use the bodies to seek the location of other living things nearby.
The goop itself though acted like a heartbeat, a really slow one. Each time it beat it would spread in a giant burst before waiting a while to burst again. Water also helped it grow and gain mass... hmm.. oceans. The only time the goop itself would not beat slowly to the heart would be when it sensed something was nearby, activating attack mode and swarming it. (loud noises, vibrations, touching it ect would activate that form, either that or if one of the vessels it controlled found something and needed help taking it over)
Might I add, fire was useful in keeping it back, but only in small amounts was it effective, the larger the amount the more it could fight back
Though it is important to note, the center of the entity was never found by the resistance, it cannot be in multiple places at once (the white eye for the center that speaks and sees, cannot be in multiple places at once)

Nightmares? No, not in the mindscape sense at the least though they do come up in normal thought from time to time. However thats not to say he doesnt have nightmares of other things, or that his fear of the Krang can be retriggered...

if you still have room for dec gift ficlets, angst prompt 48 makes me 🥺🥺 for dream/hob!! <3
Heya, thanks for the prompt! I hope you'll like it <3
[small heads-up for mentioned drug use]
crashing, wide-awake
There isn’t one huge thing that does it. As Hob stares at his empty kitchen, at the spot Dream just occupied moments ago, he thinks it would be easier if there was.
Nothing pertaining to Dream is particularly easy, of course, even less so when frustration still boils beneath Hob’s skin. Sometimes he thinks that dating some kind of cosmic entity should have come with a warning; other times, times like now, he thinks how there had been warnings, various, in all colours and volumes, and he had simply ignored them.
They are still glaring at him, right now mostly in the form of his empty kitchen that, just moments ago, Dream had still occupied.
There isn’t one huge thing that caused Hob’s irritation to build and simmer and catch. If he took a proper breath and looked at it objectively, he could admit, too, how he perhaps isn’t being entirely fair.
It isn’t one big thing, but a conglomerate of missed meetings and days, sometimes weeks without a word. Of meddling, of secrets kept and questions evaded. It is a lack of balance and willingness to listen, to listen just once. Hob loves him. Hob loves him so much that it burns, but it has been three years of this, after six hundred-and-a-few of build-up, and there is only so far that love can get you.
He had tried to bring it up, of course, more than once. He can see that Dream is trying, some days. But he is also capricious and obstinate and full of pride, and at some point between March and October, they had started to argue more than they spun tales.
Not that Hob is any better; he knows as much, always a little too greedy, too fixated, unwilling or unable or both to find a compromise.
It’s why it blew up too, tonight, he knows it beneath the frustration he still clings to. Has to, really; if he lets go, well-worn fear may rear its head, an image of Dream leaving and not coming back for an eternity burning behind his eyelids.
He grabs a bottle of whiskey and downs a glass, then another.
He goes to sleep, telling himself that it’ll be fine. A few days, a bit of distance, and they’ll sort it out.
---
The first night, he does not dream.
The second, Dream finds him, frustrated slope curving his mouth, eyes both hurt and hard. Hob leaves before they can fight again.
The rest of the week, he dreams; not notably at first, although in hindsight, it is. Memories of the last three years, of Dream in his kitchen barefoot and smiling. Of himself in the Dreaming, sprawled across Fiddler’s Green while Dream read to him, something ancient and holy and tangerine-sweet.
In between, the dreams are dreams and not memories, but they are also warnings. An empty flat. A deserted table in the Inn. The feeling of waiting, waiting, waiting.
For one week, Hob wakes with the urge to claw his heart out of his chest, see how Dream likes it.
When he goes to sleep the second Friday after their fight—ugly and snarling, the two of them; always too good at both devotion and destruction—he sets an alarm. He slips into his dreams like a thief, and once he is there, he seizes and twists the gossamer threads that make the Dreaming, the way he knows but never uses.
Never before tonight. Tonight, he does, until the scenery of Hob’s living room and Dream’s head in his lap shudders and crumbles, leaving only the throne room behind.
He meets Dream’s eyes and doesn’t know what is burning a hole into his stomach—hurt or fury or both.
“Stay the fuck out of my head,” he says, flat and tired.
His alarm rings, perfectly timed.
---
It’s a long weekend; Hob makes use of it by not sleeping.
Unfortunately, sleep deprivation still affects the immortal body. Fortunately, so does cocaine. It’s been a while, and Hob knows that he is being just as dogged and erratic as he likes to accuse Dream of being, but—
But. It is more about proving a point than anything else.
A point that is, admittedly, difficult to remember on hour fifty-two, line only-god-still-knows, and a heartbeat more volatile than his and Dream’s tempers combined.
In that twice-removed way of being high out of his mind, he knows that the crash will be brutal. That he’ll be lucky to avoid Delirium, fond as he is of her. That he’ll wish for Dream something fierce.
It takes another six hours until he gets there, sprawled across his sofa and mind a merry-go-round that won’t shut the fuck up. He can’t move a muscle and knows that sleep will be an elusive beast for a few more hours regardless.
He sighs; he should be wiser than this by now.
“Hob.”
Despite himself, despite everything, Hob’s first reaction is relief.
He squints at Dream as he kneels beside the sofa.
“You have been absent from my realm for three days.”
“I’m still mad at you.”
Dream’s lips thin, there and gone. “I know. I do not wish for you to harm yourself—more than you already have.”
Dream never lies; it is something Hob understood long before most other things.
He is so goddamn tired.
“If you fuck with my head again—”
“You will sleep without dreaming,” Dream says, the command of his voice a juxtaposition to the uncertainty with which he brushes his fingers against Hob’s temple, into his hair. “I will be here when you wake, so we may talk. If… If you will have me.”
The last shreds of his resistance crumble. He turns his face into Dream’s hand, lips finding a pointless pulse, eyes closing.
“Always,” he vows, first true thing he’s said in a week. Adding, silent, We’ll be alright.
As he drifts off, he can feel Dream’s lips against his forehead; it is enough to make him believe it, too.
