he is named for the way that the world comes to a rest in the fall and winter (his favourites of the seasons). he was purposed for the great problem as all typically were, but he was determined to live an enriching life alongside it

his facility grounds are built in a place surrounded by rolling mountains and vast forests, both coniferous and deciduous. before the great equalizer, these lands would change colour drastically with the seasons, and inspired by this slumber's colour scheme too changes. far in the future these forests warp into rainforests due to the change in climate, but even as the world changes, slumber and his people continue to celebrate the seasons as though they still functioned like they did in the past.

to be sure the memory of those times stayed strong, massive murals, paintings and sculptures celebrating the different stages of the seasons were resurrected all over slumber's city, wonderance, resulting in it becoming a city of art. windchimes hang above many of the industrial areas to bring a note of music to the heavier sounds of machinery and industry.

slumber is interested in both flora and fauna, and is sure to keep many overseers for the purpose of exploring the world. far in the future once the ancients are gone, he purposes a slugcat named leaves blanketed by fallen snow, mostly for the company (its basically just my cat. shamelessly. lmaooo) but also to gather plant specimens.

he's trying to grow and cultivate different plants, mostly for something to do rather than for a specific goal. he just thinks theyre cool

sometimes slumber has trouble taking things seriously, and believes that even if they are striving for an escape there's no harm in enjoying their lives while they have them

Concept Art of Coryos & Lucy Grays Bedroom

It took almost a decade for them to get their own space with Lucy Gray insisting of not moving into the more wealthy parts of 12, one of the main reasons being the kids themself. Their bedroom is the biggest room in the simple cottage while also serving as a nursery, playroom, storage and Coriolanus study. Decorated with colorful carpets and wall rugs it does bring over a welcoming charm including added wildflowers in summer. Imagining Lucy Gray also having multiple blankets she collected over the years to build so called nests and keep herself and her kids warm during winter. She also needs something that is as heavy like coriolanus all around her to feel safe. No those are not all Lucy Grays pillows they belong to the kids XD

For the question of why they don’t move into the victors village, Lucy Gray could its her right as a victor but she doesn’t want to. It’s a lonely and miserable quiet place far from everything she loves. Coryo would live there asap. It’s the closest thing having a “fancy” place to live and lifestyle, but he can’t quite argue with his wife about it, not when it is in direct relation to the games.

Beyond the window you knew it was snowing but it had grown much too dark to make it out any longer, and soon you couldn’t even see what little had piled against the glass as Levi pulled the curtains shut. He lifted two cups from the counter and made his way over to the couch where you sat, delicately placing them on the table between you and the fireplace. Warmth spread all over you but still he noticed a shiver work its way through your body. You had expected him to sit down next to you. Instead he walked away.

Curious, you watched over your shoulder as he made his way out of the room only to return a moment later. He was carrying a thick woollen blanket, a beautiful green blanket, one that made you want to ride horseback across the countryside with him, and heavy enough to keep any winter weather at bay. He motioned for you to lean forward and he wrapped the blanket around your shoulders as he sat down next to you. Without a word he pulled you in tight against him, arms winding around your body underneath the blanket. His scent filled your nostrils, a mixture of a fresh forest walk and soap, and you found yourself sighing happily into him.

“Is that better?” he asked, voice barely above a whisper despite there being no one to overhear.

You nodded against him, planting the briefest of kisses against his shirt collar. Even without the skin contact it brought the slightest of smiles to his lips, the corner twitching upwards as it was prone to do around you. He kissed your hair in return. And then, as if unsatisfied, his finger found its way under your chin and angled your face upwards.

“Kiss me properly,” he commanded and you gladly obliged, warmth filling you to your very core. Yeah, it was definitely better now.
