Saw you wanted whump-y LU requests, and I wanted to suggest maybe a piece of either Wild or Twilight being sick, and hallucinating that the other isn’t there, when they actually are? Or something along those lines?
Hope you have a wonderful day!
I really enjoyed drawing the expressions on this one! poor Wild is super sick and delirious to the point where he is hallucinating that everyone is gone 😭
Thank you for your lovely request @four-eyed-nerd! I hope you have a wonderful day too💙

When A is woken up in the middle of the night and at first they’re not sure why. They rub their eyes and look around blearily; all looks in order. But damn they’re hot. And as soon as that thought appears, they realize with a start it’s coming from next to them - and they look down in horror at B, laying curled into their side. B is absolutely radiating heat - so much so that A is sweaty just from being pressed against them, though no where near as drenched as B. B is shaking and whimpering pathetically, and looks pale even in the low light of the moon, with bright red spots high on their cheeks. A realizes they must not have been feeling well for a while and not mentioned anything, because with a fever like this there’s no way B didn’t go to bed feeling terribly unwell. And A hadn’t noticed.
A tries to wake B up gently, knowing they need to take their temperature and get them some water and meds, but after a few gentle hair strokes and rubbing of B’s arm, they realize B isn’t rousing at all. And if anything their face seems more pained and frightened than it had a minute ago. A starts getting frantic, shaking B harder and calling their name in a panic. They see B’s eyes flutter beneath the lids briefly, then stop as their head dropped even more towards the bed. A’s stomach drops when they realize their aren’t able to rouse B at all. Uh oh.

“thanks.. dad..” says whumpee, their voice rough and low, as caretaker threads their fingers through their tangled hair
vs
“no please-! dad make it stop! it hurts- please-!” as they thrash and scream, arching away from whumper’s blade as they slice and carve into their skin, caretaker watching in chains

Whumpee peaked into the living room and saw Whumper playing on their phone.
"What do you need?", Whumper didn't bother to look up.
Whumpee sighed and stepped into the room.
"May I wrap a blanket around myself while I work? I'm freezing", Whumpee visibly shook.
"How are you cold? I haven't changed the temperature", Whumper eyed the thermometer, "it's at the normal setting."
Whumper looked at Whumpee who seemed to be standing their practically dead.
"Are you feeling alright?", Whumper studied them.
"I don't feel great, but I can manage. May I please have a blanket?", Whumpee pleaded as they sniffled.
"I don't care", Whumper sighed and continued to study Whumpee until they disappeared into the hallway to get a blanket.
After a few minutes Whumpee could be heard in the kitchen practically choking on a cough.
"Geesh Whumpee", Whumper stood up and went to the kitchen.
Whumpee leaned on the counter, trying to hold themself up from the violent coughing.
Whumpee shook as they tried to catch their breath.
"Ahhemm", Whumper watched from the doorway.
Whumpee turned slowly to see Whumper with their arms crossed.
"I-I'm alright, just a cold", Whumpee sniffled.
"Couch now", Whumper pointed.
"But.... chores, I'll have more work to do later if they don't get done now", Whumpee pleaded.
"No buts, go to the couch", Whumper frowned.
Whumpee held their head in shame as they walked past Whumper to the living room.
Whumpee waited beside the couch until Whumper came out.
"Why aren't you sitting or laying down", Whumper set a cup of water on the coffee table in front of the couch.
"Um, I-I'm not normally allowed to sit on furniture. You just said to go to the couch, and I did that", Whumpee looked at the floor.
Whumper sighed as they rubbed the sides of their head, "Whumpee lie down on the flippin couch" Whumper spoke through gritted teeth.
Whumpee fell onto the couch and scooted around until they were comfortable.
Whumper rolled their eyes as they knelt beside Whumpee.
"I'm going to make you some food, and have you take some medicine", Whumper stroked Whumpee's forehead comfortingly, but really just feeling for a fever, "do not get up, if you are up, you better have a good reason. Am I clear?"
Whumpee blinked slowly, "y-yes mas-master."
After a few minutes, Whumper carried out a sandwich and some medicine.
"Here, sit up so you can eat this", Whumper handed over the plate, "after you eat, you can take the medicine."
Whumpee nodded as they started to eat.
"This is tasty and it's scratching my throat when it goes down. That feels good", Whumpee excitedly took another bite.
Whumper smiled as they went to the kitchen to get a napkin.
Whumpee was surprised when they were handed a cup of juice.
"Master, I get juice?", Whumpee looked at the cup.
"It will help your body replenish electrolytes", Whumper went over to another chair and sat down.
"When did you start feeling this way?", Whumper watched them chug the drink, "and why didn't you tell me you didn't feel good? I'm not that heartless to make you work while you're sick. I don't even work when I'm sick."
"Last night, my throat started to hurt while I was going to sleep. I tried to muffle the coughs as much as I could", Whumpee looked at the empty plate sadly, "I didn't know if I should tell you or not. I figured you wouldn't care or something, so I just went about my chores. It was getting harder to work though, with all of the shivering."
"Next time you get sick, you need to communicate it with me. Because you are also spreading it around the house", Whumper stood, "take the medicine, then you can take a nap."
Whumpee nodded as they took the two pills Whumper had given to them.
Whumper took the plate and cup and went to the kitchen.
Whumpee started to lay down until they heard Whumper loading the dishwasher.
Whumpee got up quickly, clutched the blanket around themself, and went to the kitchen.
Whumper looked up at Whumpee in surprise.
"Why are you up?", Whumper put another dish into the machine.
"Yo-you are doing the dishes?", Whumpee looked at Whumper in panic.
"Yes, I know how to do this stuff, I just have you do the chores because I don't feel like it", Whumper grinned, "the chores still have to be done, so I'm going to do them."
Whumpee still watched in shock.
"Go back to the couch and lay down. Get some rest", Whumper started to do a few other things in the kitchen.
Whumpee nodded and slowly walked out to the living room again.
They plopped on the couch and wrapped the blanket around themself.
'Master is actually doing my chores', Whumpee thought to themself.
Whumper came out a few minutes later and sat down. Whumpee watched them scroll on their phone for a few minutes before their eyelids grew heavy.
Whumper heard a couple of tiny moans come from Whumpee, followed by some stuffie snores.
Whumper grinned.
"Get some sleep, you little sickie", Whumper whispered before going back to their phone.
Guess who may have gotten sick again, I think it's just a cold this time. I am a-okay though, no need to worry. 😁 -MJ

Febuwhump Day 24: “I’m doing this because I care about you,”
Content warning: none
Villain knew the exact moment Hero snapped back into consciousness. Not because they were watching them, nor because of some particularly developed sense of hearing. No, Villain knew the exact moment Hero woke up because of the hacking, painful cough that tore through them the moment they opened their eyes.
By the time Villain had bookmarked their place and moved into their living room, Hero was gasping for air. They were clutching at their chest, blankets thrown haphazardly around their waist, tears dripping down their face as they struggled to breathe.
They looked horrible. Red faced and clammy, shaking with a constant chill despite the thick blanket Villain had thrown over them. Villain could practically see the fever wafting off of them. If there were a picture in the dictionary for the word ‘sick’, Hero’s face would be plastered there as a prime example.
It took Hero a moment to lift their gaze. When they did, their eyes widened in shock. “You—where, what–” Their eyes flicked across their surroundings at breakneck speeds, before returning to Villain with a confused glare. “Am I on your couch?!”
“It’s a sofa, but yes.”
They stared in disbelief. “Why?”
“I thought that bringing you to bed would be a tad too forward. Was I wrong?” Villain asked, voice a purr. They grinned at the way the redness on Hero’s cheeks darkened.
Hero scowled, “You're wrong for thinking I want to be on your stupid couch,” they grumbled, working to untangle themselves from the blankets. With an amount of effort Villain couldn’t help but notice, Hero lifted themselves onto unsteady legs, one hand still resting on the sofa’s arm.
They took a step. The jangling of a chain accompanied the movement.
Hero looked down, finally noticing the cuff connected to their left ankle. The other end was locked snugly around the sofa’s leg.
Hero turned to face Villain. They didn’t even look angry, simply annoyed. “Are you kidnapping me again?” they sighed.
Villain grinned. Ignoring the distrusting glare Hero sent their way, they snapped their fingers. Their abilities responded eagerly, and their once empty palm was filled.
A simple medicine cap appeared in Villain’s hand, filled to the brim with a thick, purple liquid.
Hero looked up at them like they'd grown a second head. “You brought me here to take medicine?”
“I brought you here because you dropped from the sky in a dead faint mid battle, before I so much as touched you,” There was an edge to Villain’s voice. They swallowed it, forcing their smile to remain in place. “I certainly wasn’t going to waltz up to your agency, carrying you like a princess. So I decided to take you home with me.”
Villain didn’t miss the way Hero’s eyes widened at their words. Or how their stare was filled with confusion like they had no memory of the day’s events.
Hero turned away. “It’s barely a cold. I didn’t need help.”
Didn’t need help. Yes, because someone ready to fall over in public, their allies nowhere in sight, in the middle of a fight with a villain, didn’t need help. It was ridiculous, the typical, endlessly stubborn non-logic they knew Hero for. It was usually something Villain found amusing. But looking at Hero now, the shadows under the eyes, the gauntness to their face that a simple cold could not explain, Villain felt only anger.
They couldn’t stop thinking about Hero falling. Their eyes rolling into the back of their skull, whatever retort they’d been about to make dissolving into a nonsensical slur. How they’d just dropped, falling like a bird shot from the sky.
Villain would never admit to the scream that’d torn from their lips at the sight. They didn’t want to consider how close of a call it’d been. If Villain had been just a little slower to act…
Villain pushed the thought from their mind, instead pushing the cap into Hero’s hands. Hero held it like Villain had just presented them with a dead rat.
“Oh, don’t give me that look. I’m doing this because I care about you.”
Hero sighed, “You’re doing this because you like bothering me.”
“Those two sentiments aren’t mutually exclusive,” Villain grinned. “And there’s no fun in defeating you when a cold is doing the work for me.”
Hero glared for a long moment. Finally they sighed, defeated. They lifted the cup to their lips, throwing their head back and swallowing the medicine as if it were a shot of bourbon. They returned the cup to Villain’s outstretched hand without question. “Done. Can I leave now?”
Villain took the cap back graciously, sending it back to their bathroom with a wave of their hand. “And what made you think you’d be leaving so soon?”
“But I thought–,” a sudden cough interrupted them, hacking and thick with flem. Villain almost winced at the noise. “-- I took the stupid medicine, what else do you even want?!”
They wanted Hero to avoid keeling over in their foolish goal of saving every pathetic little life in the city. “Plenty. Your downfall, the keys to the city…,” they said instead. “But that’s besides the point. You won’t be doing any more heroics for the remainder of the day. I suspect you'll be dead to the world within the hour.”
Hero's eyes bulged. “D-did you drug me?!” Their voice squeaked with indignation.
“If you consider Nyquil a drug, then yes.”
“Oh,” and just like that, their anger faded. “Then I’ll be fine, a little cough medicine isn’t going to knock me out.”
“Have you had Nyquil before?” Villain asked. ”Darling, it’s infamous, and you already look dead on your feet. I wouldn’t bet on your chances”
Hero crossed their arms, pouting like a stubborn toddler. “I’ll be fine. I'm not even tired,” Villain noted that they also sounded like a stubborn toddler. They decided not to mention either fact.
Villain sighed, hands moving to rest on their hips. “Your abuse of the word ‘fine’ aside, I’ll make you a deal.”
“I’ll make you a deal,” Hero countered, scowling. And then they sniffed, entirely ruining the impact of the expression.“You let me go, and I don’t kick your ass.”
Villain ignored them. “Stay for an hour. If you’re still awake by then, I’ll let you go.”
“I don’t have time to just sit around!” Hero groaned, pulled at the chain on their leg. The cuff was made of a soft, comfortable material, but it was sturdy. It stayed firm despite their tugging, which only encouraged them to tug harder. “I’m supposed to be on duty!”
“You’re also actively being kidnapped, as you put it. Most hostages don’t get to negotiate the terms of their stay. Be thankful.”
Hero glared, expression more of a pout than anything else. Red faced and ruffled hair, they looked as intimidating as a kitten.
Villain grinned. “But fine, if you’re so insistent on leaving, I can negotiate. Stay for forty five minutes.”
“Hell no. Twenty five.”
“Absolutely not. Thirty, and I get to pick the movie.”
Hero raised an eyebrow. “The movie?”
“Well, I’m not going to just sit here waiting for you to pass out.” Villain huffed.
Hero glared for a long moment, arms crossed. Villain could see them considering their options, stubborn pride battling against bone-deep exhaustion.
They saw the moment Hero’s exhaustion won out. They sighed, shoulders slumping, and they flopped back into their seat. “Fine. Thirty minutes and I’m out of here.”
Grinning, Villain sat themselves besides Hero, making a show of getting comfortable. They spread the blanket across both of them. Hero huffed, but didn’t move.
“I hope I get you sick.” Hero sniffled.
“I’m not exactly human, my dear; your little bug won’t touch me. Feel free to continue to hope however.”
The pair sat in near silence for a moment, the only sound the occasional hacking cough. After several minutes of consideration, Villain settled on a film. A simple, vapid romantic comedy. Utterly unremarkable and dull. The perfect film to fall asleep to.
They turned to their nemesis, finger hovering over the play button. “Any complaints?”
Hero shrugged. “Whatever. It's not like I'll be watching.”
“Because you'll be asleep, I know.”
“Because I'll be leaving.”
“Certainly. Whatever you say…” Villain’s voice dripped with condescension. Hero only huffed.
Villain flicked the movie on and snuggled into the blanket.
The film was just as unimpressive as Villain had hoped. It was just interesting enough to be vaguely entertaining, but it was clearly a film designed to be background noise. Which was perfect, of course.
Villain wasn’t paying the film any mind. What they were truly focused on was Hero. They’d tucked themselves underneath the blankets, half-curled into the covers. Their arms were crossed over their chest, expression set as if their very honor depended on them staying awake.
Hero was fighting a battle against exhaustion, and it was obvious they were losing. Within the first ten minutes, they’d already begun snuggling into the covers, pulling the material close to their trembling frame. Their eyes were barely open by the fifteen minute park. They were still sitting upright, but their head would tip forward every few minutes, eyes falling shut. They’d always jerk themselves back to wakefulness moments later. Villain didn’t miss the way they’d glance over to Villain each time it happened, expression embarrassed. Villain carefully did not meet their gaze.
Villain resisted a smile when Hero finally leaned back fully, resting their head against the sofa.
By the half hour mark, Hero had gone entirely slack. Their mouth was slightly ajar, quiet, congested snores the only noise they made. They were out like a light, just like Villain had predicted.
Slowly, carefully, Villain leaned towards them. “Time’s up darling,” Villain whispered into Hero's ear, tone thick with amusement. “Should I let you go? You seem rather comfortable.”
“Hnnn…”Hero only grumbled in response, words unintelligible. They shifted in place, and Villain froze and Hero flopped over, falling to lean heavily against their side. They tucked themselves into Villain, nose pushing itself into the crook of Villain’s neck.
They hummed sleepily, content, before falling still again.
“Oh,” Villain didn’t dare move. They could feel heat coming off Hero in waves, fever leaving their skin clammy against Villain’s. Their breath ticked against Villain’s neck. Neither feeling was particularly unpleasant.
They tried to move away, carefully shifting Hero’s body to rest against the sofa’s arm. But then Hero gave a half-conscious whine, fingers blindly gripping at Villain’s shirt. Even in their sleep they were stubborn as ever.
Villain sighed, accepting their impromptu downgrade to Hero’s cushion. They made a mental note to continue their ‘kidnapping’ for the remainder of the week.

Whumpee laying in Caretaker's lap, writhing in pain and whimpering.
Caretaker playing with Whumpee's hair in an attempt to keep them calm and comfortable, a pained expression on their face. It hurts to see Whumpee suffering like this, and there is nothing they could do to help them.

Bundled up
"Hey, Whumpee, how are you fee-- oh."
Whumpee practically heard Caretaker's soft smile through his surprise and they could imagine the look on his face. Sure, they were still in bed, right where he left them, not like they were going anywhere... But Whumpee had completely disappeared under the covers and Caretaker could only see a large, probably shivering lump covered by blankets.
The mattress shifted under them. A hand rested on the duvet, rubbing their shoulder.
"You okay?"
"So cold," Whumpee muttered from within their tent. They lay all curled up, knees up to their chest, arms crossed, head under the blankets. Even the extra heat from their breath wasn't enough; they kept shivering, they just couldn't get warm again.
A soft hum in reply. "Can I get you anything? Soup? Tea? Aspirin?"
"No... no, thank you. I don't think my stomach can hold anything down, pills or water."
"Then how about an extra blanket?"
Whumpee smiled under the covers. "That would be nice."
The mattress sprang back again. Footsteps, a creak of the closet door, and something heavy draped over them. Caretaker's hands carefully brushed the blanket down, tucking them further in, making sure no cold could creep into their blanket fort. His hands lingered over their shoulder, giving a reassuring squeeze.
Sooner or later they'd have to resurface for fresh oxygen, though... But for now, they let the extra weight press them deeper into their mattress.
A content sigh escaped.
"How cold?" Caretaker asked.
A hand peeked out from under the covers, slipping out of the warm nest. Their hands were already freezing anyway, it didn't matter much.
Caretaker gripped them tight and his warm hands closed around their iced fingers.
"Jesus."
"Mhm."
"Your nails are getting blue..."
"Is it possible to get frostbite at room temperature?"
"You'd almost think so..."
Whumpee yanked their hands back and squished them in-between their tighs, hoping to get them warm again.
But instead of their hands taking their body warmth, quite the opposite happened; the cold spread through their legs, coursed up through to the rest of their body. Goosebumps tingled right along, little hairs stood on end like they were doing a stadium wave all the way up to their neck.
The lump of blankets shivered hard and Caretaker couldn't help a smile.
A wave of cold but fresh air made them gasp and scramble to pull at their blankets.
"Scoot over." Caretaker pulled the covers up and huddled up close next to them, letting the blankets fall over him. He grabbed Whumpee's hands tight into his, softly rubbing.
Whumpee squeaked their protests at first - "You'll get sick, too!" - but the extra warmth was hard to resist. They huddled up closer to Caretaker, resting their head against his chest, tangling legs with his, accepting his embrace.
"Better?"
"Better."

Whumpee examined by the doctor, listening to their lungs and checking their temperature
Whumpee stripped down so others can help them change their clothes, leaving whumpee bare and vulnerable and unable to sit up by themselves
Loose white nightgowns and white shirts
Pale, ashen skin, eyes ringed with dark circles, sunken cheeks
Long, damp hair plastered to a feverish forehead
A dim bedroom, curtains closed, a single candle or lamp burning

Hi, could you write something about a Villain taking care of a Hero with pneumonia?
Hi Anon! Sure I can! Thanks for your patience while I got around to this, and for requesting it! Here you go!
“Come on, you need to take your medicine,” Villain coaxed.
Hero’s breaths came in short little gasps, a sheen of sweat coated their forehead, and their eyes were glassy and unfocused.
“You probably can’t even tell I’m here,” Villain sighed.
Without warning, Villain sat Hero up against the pillows, eliciting a heart-breaking whine from the incapacitated crime-fighter. Villain poured some medicine onto a spoon and pushed it past Hero’s lips.
“Mmmf?” Hero mumbled with a grimace.
“Swallow for me,” Villain said, “you can do it.”
Hero held the medicine in their mouth for a few moments, then eventually acquiesced and swallowed the bitter liquid. Villain let out a sigh of relief.
“I’m gonna take your temperature now,” Villain said, “hopefully the fever’s gone down some.”
Villain pulled out a thermometer and gently shoved it in Hero’s mouth. After a few moments, a loud beeping broke the silence. Villain pulled the thermometer out and their face fell as they read the number.
“Not much better,” they muttered, “I might need to take you to a hospital.”
Just the one word was enough to bring Hero back to some semblance of lucidity.
“N-no!” they said weakly, “no hospital!”
“Hero, I know you have a thing about hospitals,” Villain reasoned, “but this is serious. If your fever gets much higher, you’re not coming back from this.”
“You s-said you’d take care of me,” Hero pleaded, “please, Villain, no hospital.”
Villain looked at Hero’s pitiful expression. They groaned loudly.
“Alright,” Villain conceded, “but I swear, if your temperature goes up by so much as a decimal of a degree, I’m taking you to the hospital. No arguments. Deal?”
Hero sniffled and nodded. They suddenly lurched forward as they let out a string of wet coughs. Villain rubbed their back soothingly. Hero fell back against the pillows, blinking slowly as though their eyelids were made of lead. Villain adjusted Hero’s covers and left the room so they could rest.
Villain entered Hero’s room with a tray in hand. On the tray was a bowl of soup and a tall glass of water with a straw. The sound of whimpering made Villain practically run to Hero’s bedside. They set the tray down and caught sight of Hero tossing and turning in their sleep.
“N-no,” they mumbled.
Their fever-addled mind had conjured up some sort of nightmare, Villain guessed. Villain shook Hero a few times to wake them.
“Stop it!” Hero cried in their sleep.
“Hero, it’s me,” Villain said, “you’re alright. It’s just a dream.”
Hero’s eyes flew open, and they screamed, bolting upright in bed. Their wide eyes darted around the room until they fell on Villain. They hugged Villain as tight as their weakened state would allow.
“Shhh, you’re alright, you’re alright,” Villain soothed, carding a hand through Hero’s sweat-dampened hair.
“I-I- it was so real,” Hero muttered.
“I know,” Villain said softly, “it’s over now, okay? It’s all over.”
Villain adjusted the pillows and sat Hero up against them. They set the tray of food in Hero’s lap.
“I need you to eat,” Villain said, “you need fluids.”
Hero nodded. They tried to lift the spoon, but their hand was shaking, and their grip was so weak that it fell back down on the tray with a clatter.
“It’s okay,” Villain said quickly, seeing the tears form in Hero’s eyes, “let me.”
Villain quietly fed Hero small spoonfuls of the soup. Once or twice Hero reached for the water, so Villain held it steady for them to drink. Once the bowl was empty, Villain set the tray back on the nightstand.
“Thank you, Villain,” Hero said quietly.
The corner of Villain’s mouth curled up into a small smile.
“Of course, Hero,” they said.
It would be another week before Hero fully recovered, and Villain was there every step of the way.

Give me a long, drawn out collapse. Like a collapse that takes a literal 3 minutes from the time Whumpee / Caretaker notices something is off, to the actual passing out.
Caretaker doesn’t know how rough Whumpee is feeling, and pulls them out of a chair so enthusiastically. Only to cause Whumpee’s whole world to spin. Caretaker is luckily still holding Whumpee by the arms, so when Whumpee starts to wilt forward Caretaker is able to tighten their hold under their elbows and keep them standing. Caretaker is understandably alarmed, and kind of too shocked to do anything other than look at Whumpee for a moment. And that’s all the time it takes for Whumpee’s color to completely and noticably drain from their face, their eyes to start rolling in their head - then eyelids fluttering as they struggle to get their vision back. Their knees are buckling and locking in a desperate attempt to keep their body upright. They’re trying to mutter something out to Caretaker but words are lost and tiny whimpers and sounds are all that come. Caretaker is now unfrozen, the initial reaction caused by the shock and panic of what they were seeing, and now are jumping into action. They step forward to wrap their arms fully around Whumpee and support all of their weight. Whumpee’s head flops into Caretakers chest and once they feel Caretakers body encompass their own, their mind seems to take it as permission to give up the battle and fade into the darkness. Caretaker’s plan to sit Whumpee back in the chair is forgotten as they feel Whumpee go completely limp in their arms.

Refeeding Your Whumpee
TW: Disordered eating
• Your Whumpee has been starved for goodness knows how long, and you can now easily count their ribs. Now, they’re in your care.
• The easiest solution would be feeding them normally, right? Yet, your Whumpee is reluctant to eat, and what little they do get down comes right back up. Your whumpee is experiencing refeeding syndrome, a disorder in which a starved person becomes sick from eating food again.
• Treatment involves slowly reintroducing your Whumpee to normal food, while supplementing their diet with a feeding tube. Over one or two weeks, the amount of normal food is increased, and the amount of food through the tube is decreased, until the tube is no longer needed. Doesn’t sound easy, does it?
• After their first taste of food, Whumpee begins ravenously wolfing down everything in sight-- At least, when you aren’t around. Every time, this makes them terribly sick, yet, they keep eating, hoarding food, hiding and acting aggressively.
• Now what do you do? You have to keep Whumpee from eating everything, even when they insist that they’re starving. They may beg, they may cry, but it’s for their own good. Particularly sneaky Whumpees might need to have the food in the house locked up.
• What about the other end of the spectrum? A Whumpee that won’t eat, that’s far too frightened of punishment or sickness. Maybe they can try a protein shake? But, it’s been days, and they’re looking so thin... Is it right, to order them to eat, just so they don’t starve? What about forcing them?
• What about the feeding tube? Most Whumpees will shy away at the sight of it, and good luck getting them to sit still long enough for it to be inserted. You might even need to take them to a doctor-- Hopefully your Whumpee isn’t a bitey one.
• If your Whumpee was previously a pet, maybe they won’t want to eat human food. Do you allow them to eat the kibble they’ve become accustomed to? Do you make them eat human food? What about human food out of a bowl?
• Refeeding a Whumpee is certainly a challenge, but in the end, it’s for their own good. Even if it doesn’t feel like it when you practically have to force food down their throat.

Rough grumpy Caretaker... how I love them. -MJ
Warning.... swear words used.
Caretaker peaked in to check on Whumpee, they had just put them down for a nap.
They slightly opened the door and caught Whumpee darting into the bed.
"You better have a really good reason for being out of that bed", Caretaker opened the door further.
"I'm sorry Caretaker, I....", Whumpee started to violently cough.
"Oh Whumpee fuck off and give me a break", Caretaker slipped into his old British sailer accent.
"I'm sorry. I wanted to grab my book, and then you came along", Whumpee pleaded.
"I didn't put you to bed to read. You are very sick and need to sleep. That temperature of yours could freaken cook an egg", Caretaker sighed as they started to tuck Whumpee back into the blankets.
Whumpee groaned as the blankets were violently shoved under them.
"Ouch, can we be a little gentler please", Whumpee winced, "I am sick after all."
"Oh hush", Caretaker held a cup of water and offered Whumpee a drink, "now if I come back to this room again and you are up, I will tie you to the bed. Am I clear? I better hear happy Whumpee snores."
Whumpee grinned.
"I mean it, unless you are getting a drink or going to the bathroom do not get up", Caretaker sighed as they set the cup down, "work with me here. Your complexion is horrendous, I mean, white paint has more color. Plus, your trash bin is overflowing with tissue for the second time today."
Whumpee nodded, "I'm sorry Caretaker."
Caretaker ran his hand through Whumpee's sweaty hair, "that's better. Now, we need to focus on you getting better. Please try to get some rest, I'll have some food and medicine ready for you when you wake up... okay?"
Whumpee nodded again, "thankyou."
Caretaker waited thirty minutes before checking on Whumpee again ... thankfully Whumpee had finally listened and was snoring away.
"My happy little chainsaw", Caretaker marveled at how loud Whumpee was as they stepped into the room.
They grabbed the thermometer and tucked it under Whumpee's tongue without disturbing their sleep. Even the ding didn't wake Whumpee.
"Temp is a little better now", Caretaker looked the thermometer over, "not where I'm wanting it to be though."
Caretaker sighed, "shit", he whispered, "I might have to take you in for some better medicine. What I have might not be cutting it."
Caretaker was fixing some soup for Whumpee when they heard them moving around.
"Dinner's almost ready if you want to come down here", Caretaker called.
Whumpee struggled down the hall.
"I just woke up and puked", Whumpee frowned.
"Let me guess, you didn't get to the bucket in time", Caretaker sighed, "where did it end up?""
"I did get to the bucket, but some got on my blanket to... sorry", Whumpee looked down.
"Okay", Caretaker sighed, "go ahead and eat, I'll clean it up."
Whumpee was hunched over when Caretaker came back.
"Whumpee?", Caretaker panicked, "Whumpee?"
Whumpee jumped up and started to mumble.
"You're going to the hospital... now", Caretaker hurried.
"No, no. I'm fine", Whumpee mumbled with a slur.
"Don't argue, you're fucking going to the hospital. You're beyond fine", Caretaker went to help Whumpee stand.
"Okay, but I can walk", Whumpee started to get up.
"Oh, you want to walk by yourself. Okay, that sounds fun to watch. Okay, let's see", Caretaker crossed his arms.
Whumpee started to walk, but fell forward.
"Shit", Whumpee moaned.
"That's what I thought. Alright come on, work with me. I'm not dragging your ass, but you won't make it by yourself", Caretaker threw one of Whumpee's arms over his shoulder and led them to the car.
Whumpee's temperature was checked on arrival at the hospital. It had jumped back up again.
Caretaker helped Whumpee into a chair and followed the staff as they rushed them back.
Caretaker sighed as they started to fill out the forms, "Whumpee", Caretaker muttered to himself, "pain in my ass. You're lucky I love you... at least a little bit."
Whumpee squinted their eyes open, the morning sun met them.
They jumped up realizing this was not their bedroom.
"Easy", they felt Caretaker's hand grab them, "you're okay, your fever got really bad. I had to bring you to the hospital."
Whumpee rubbed their head, "I've got a major headache", they looked around the room, "the last thing I remember was sitting down at the table, I don't remember anything else."
"Well, the staff here has been very helpful in getting your fever to break, they got you on some medication and fluids", Caretaker sighed.
"That's good", Whumpee leaned back again, "I still don't feel great, plus, this headache."
"We'll get you better", Caretaker pressed the call button, "I promise."
Whumpee nodded as they laid down, "thankyou Caretaker."

Behave, 11
CW: Whumper hospital, forced medical treatment, hurt/comfort, whumper turned caretaker, protective affirmative whumper, stitches, needles mentioned, (it’s mostly fluff)
[Masterlist]
Whumpee stared at their hands, bruised and shaking uncontrollably. Down their arms were countless needle marks, a band aid accompanying each one. They crossed their legs on the bed as shivers crawled up their spine. They felt cold and drowsy since waking up.
The door unlocked as whumpee’s spine snapped into posture. They winced when it pulled at the stitches along their ribs. Inhaling through their teeth, they held their breath and closed their eyes.
“No hiding behind the door, not under the bed, or cowering in the corner.” They repeated through their head. Rules the doctor gave them when they got tired of bending over and grabbing their ankles to pull them out.
It hurt their back, they said.
So lost in thought, they hadn’t noticed a cold shadow over them. They opened their eyes just in time for someone to grab their face from each side and wrenched their head high.
“Whumpee are you okay!? Were you hurt?! I swear if they bent a single hair the wrong way!” Whumper shrilled. The jolt whumpee let loose almost freed them from whumper’s grip.
Whumper turned their cheek left, then right, looking for a bruise, a scratch, anything that looked unnecessary. They were mostly looking for something to validate their anger.
“Well!? Answer me!!” Whumper cried.
Whumpee looked up, the second their eyes made contact, they broke the silence with an almost inaudible sob. Whumper immediately let go as whumpee leaned forward until they were resting their forehead against whumper’s chest.
Whumper’s eyes went wide as they awkwardly wrapped their arms around them. “I’m sorry... I’m not trying to scare you, I just-” They whispered, stroking their hand down the back of whumpee’s hair. They stopped when they realized they could feel heat.
“Are you-... Are you burning up? How do you feel?” They ushered, crouching to their level a little more. Whumpee sniffled and rested their chin over whumper’s shoulder until they calmed. For once they weren’t resistant, defiant, scared even.
“I’m s-... I’m fine. I feel alright.” Whumpee spoke through a tired mutter.
“You were going to say scared, weren't you?” Whumper edged.
"No. I wasn’t.” They huffed a laugh in irony.
“I was going to say I’m sorry.”
They could feel whumper’s head snap down at them. “Excuse me?” Whumper mimicked their laugh, but more out of disbelief.
“The last time I saw you, I said I hated you.” Whumpee pulled their head from whumper’s chest and met their eyes.
“I-... Didn’t mean it.” They wiped a few tears from their eyes and sniffled.
Whumper felt their chest swelling with guilt. And the last time they saw them, they had forced a blood draw as they struggled and retaliated. It bruised worse than the rest ever had.
“Don’t be.” They sighed, cupping their face and resting their forehead apologetically against theirs. “Don’t be at all. You’re sick.” They hummed.
They couldn’t help but smirk a little too mischievously.
“Does this mean you adore me?”
“-Okay that’s enough.” Whumpee broke the gesture and pulled away.
“I’m your favorite, right? Beloved? Cherished?” They heartfully teased.
“You’ve ruined it.”
Whumper laughed and sat next to them, pulling them against their shoulder and running their palm down their arm.
“I won’t let them hurt you.” Whumper murmured. “I won’t lose you again.”
---
As of that morning, the doctor had added an addition to whumpee’s room: a camera that followed their every move. If they walked to one side, the camera would hum until it found them.
The doctor slumped their feet on the desk and gnawed away at a sandwich, watching the scene between whumpee and whumper play on like entertainment.
They wondered if it was real, whatever bond they had. Maybe one was manipulating the other. Maybe one of them was breaking.
Maybe they both had.
