more about Matt Boyd cause I love him

1. I know Dan wants to be a coach and stuff and I think that she eventually takes over for Wymack when he’s too old to coach (or fed up with the foxes bullshit) but before she did that she went pro for a bit and this is how it went down

Dan: does something incredible and her team wins a game because of it

Matt, watching the game and fucking swooning because he’s soft and in love (also screaming this across the stadium): holy fucking shit I love her so much oh my god im her husband of my fucking sheesh its a goddess im in love with a goddess and she loves me holy shit im so lucky im her boy

Renee and Allison: holding him up because he literally is quaking so much he cant stand

2. When Matt and Neil went pro their teams played each other once and they were on the court and right before the match started the audience just see’s Matt ( a absolutely jacked 6′4″ back liner) sprint across the court and tackle this tiny 5′ red head idiot in a hug and like lifted him off the ground because he’s so tall

3. Matt totally called Wymack dad once or twice or a lot more than that

4. For pride month one year matt posted a pic on his instagram that was just him holding a pride flag with Renison

5. Renee once bought him Iike five stuffed animals for Christmas continuing the running joke that he’s the baby of the group (he is renee’s like four years older than him) and he keeps them lines up on his bed in the dorm

6. He cooks breakfast for the upperclassmen

7. At a banquet once Matt somehow ended up talking to Jeremy Knox (our other favorite boy) and they became friends because they are both the epitome or sunshine and while this was happening Renee introduced Jean to Dan and they had like a three hour long conversation about the importance of team leadership while their boyfriends became besties

8. While Andrew is in rehab, Renee doesn’t have anyone to spar with so Matt starts sparring with her since his mom is a pro boxer and he can fight pretty well

9. Matt (along with the rest of the upperclassmen) have a 6 tattooed somewhere on their body (aka Seth’s jersey number because I believe he had internalized homophobia and if he hadn’t died would have had a redemption arc and become an amazing friend and apologized for all the shit he said)

Andrew Being Protective Of All Foxes

I know I know but hear me out.

Andrew is really protective over what he considers his

Andrew (unconsciously) starts conidering the Foxes his

With everything about ‘we are Foxes’ and shit you could see he truly started to think of himself as one of them

Before it was an ‘us against them’. (Also I got the impression the only reason he accepted Wymack’s offer was so Nicky and Aaron could get free college and he could keep them with him longer) So he never considered himself part of them

Anyway. Andrew starts to get protective over all of them

Renee (he was always kinda protective over her though.)

For her it’s little changes because in a way Renee was already his.

Andrew hates the press and they hate him, he doesn’t talk and when he does it’s just an insult or a firm but bored no

But Renee is a common face for press duty. Most think of her as the sweetheart and don’t really look past that

She has kind smiles while the rest of the Foxes look kinda feral when they smile even if they don’t mean to.

So, Once when Renee was on press duty and Andrew was either there or listening the reporter brought up her past. Something the press and shit don’t really talk about.

Andrew just kinda shows up, between her and the reporters and smiles

(It’s always been my headcanon that Andrew only smiles and laughs when angry when someone has managed to truly piss him off) (the drugs just made everything extreme)

The reporter loses his nerve and kinda backs away, probably remembering all the stories about Andrew ‘psychopath’ Minyard

Matt, (more than just him being a Fox, he is also Neil’s best friend)

Matt is, as everyone knows, both a badass boxer and a golden retriever personified and Andrew is well, Andrew but I think they would make really good friends

For Matt it wouldn’t be as much of a protective thing but a hang out with him thing

It would probably start with protecting him more on court but I think the real switch would be when they start hanging out

Matt would be headed to the gym to spar and Andrew would pop up with his own gloves

(I love the idea of Andrew just randomly popping up places)

Andrew and Matt would start to spar together and he would help with certain things if needed.

They would become (kinda) friends and they would talk with each other during games

So now Allison

(Personally my favorite little story)

As someone who had lost people I know there are good days and bad days, similar to many mental illnesses

Most Foxes have lost people but in their cases it was not really death. (Andrew is included with this but whatever)

(Andrew lost Cass twice, once when he went to juvy and another time when drake died) (in a different way than how Allison lost Seth, yes but no less hurtful)

Anyway so on one of Allison’s bad days when she is like laying on the couch before practice or something Andrew helps

Not in the way you think, no threatening or excouragement as sometimes you just need time to grieve and Andrew never really gave himself that, he couldn’t

So he steals one of Renee’s sweatshirts and one that Allison still has from Seth and makes her cozy, probably a blanket too

He has her put on Seth’s and puts Renee’s on the pillow like a pillow case and then drapes a blanket on top of her

(You can’t tell me they don’t have pillows and blankets laying around. People always bring blankets and shit when we will be sitting around for awhile in school or meetings)

The whole time everyone is like “what is happening?” But eventually he is done and she is all comfy and he says something surprisingly sweet like “it’s ok to grieve just don’t let it consume you” or some shit because he is good with advice but is horrible with taking care of himself

So then they all go out for practice and Wymack is wondering where Allison is but he’s looking at the upperclassman thinking the monsters, especially Andrew, won’t be all that helpful and Andrew basically says “she’s fine. Leave her alone” and that’s that

(Wymack, Neil and Renee are silently smug)

Dan

Dan I think would be a mixture of support and protectiveness

Like he doesn’t need to protect her but it’s always good to have back up you know?

Like a reporter or another athlete brings up her past and he isn’t in the conversation but steps towards them at that

Dan starts being her badass self and is shocked that when she is done Andrew is kinda behind/next to her

He is offering silent support and threat

He is showing that he is on her side and that if you cross her you face his wrath

No one wants to cross a Fox but especially not the crazy midget goalie

The Foxes accents

Okay, as someone who actually haven’t read all of the aftg ec, please go easy on me. That being said, I haven’t once heard anyone speak of any of the foxes’ accents, other than Neil’s british one, and i have thoughts, and I just wanted to curse you all with them.

Okay, so I actually don’t remember where Dan is from, but i always just pictured her with the standard American accent. Like, when you watch a british show and an american shows up. That accent.

So, Kevin... He grew up in Castle Evermore after his mother died(? maybe also before?), so I see 2 options. Either he also has the generic american accent, or, the way more fun option, he is very southern. It’s frequently mentioned that he is charming with the press, and what he more charming than a southern gentleman??? Nothing that is.

Andrew grew up in California so he could lowkey be a surferdudebro. But I just really can’t see that. There is also the problem with both Nicky and Aaron, who are both, spoiler alert, clearly also southern having grown up in SC(I think with Aaron, don’t sue me). So i really think that he unconsciously mimic their accent to better fit in with them. Deny all you want, but this boy still want a family.

My sweet little angle Matt i believe grew up in New York, and him being the big teddy bear that he is, and then giving him the stereotypical Boston accent really tickles.

I believe Aaron grew up in SC, but now that I think about it... Did he also grow up in Cali?? Or was that one of Tilda’s boyfriends? Either way i still picture him with a lowkey southern accent. He doesn’t play down intentionally, it just sorta happened after Andrew moved in with him and Tilda.

I am so sorry, but i really think that Seth was a bit of trailer/white-trash? So he has that sorta southerndrawl, yet it’s not? Picture Bubba J from Jeff Dunham yet, less obnoxious.

Okay so Allison grew up rich, and i always imagine her with like, a posh american accent. Like, the hollywood accent? It’s not quite the generic accent, but close to it. It has class.

Nicky did grow up in SC, that much i am sure of. So the southern accent for him. But i feel like he sorta lost it a bit in Germany? So when he moved back to the states to take care of the twins, it was that sorta lowkey accent Aaron had adopted from living with Andrew for however months. It is also after moving in with Nicky and Aaron that Andrew’s changes. Nicky doesn’t mention it, and Aaron doesn’t realize they now sound the same.

So Renee grew up surrounded by gangsters right? But she’s also a “convincing” christian, so she can’t have that stereotypical gangster accent. Also so she is like soft spoken? I really don’t know what she sounds like accent wise in my head. I’m sorry, I have failed you Renee.

This motherfucker keeps changing his accent. At this point not even Neil knows what accent is his “true” one. He grew up in Baltimore, but he mostly spent time with his mom. So i feel like he has like, a bastard accent with a mixture of those two as his comfort accent. But he can mimic almost all accent, as a survival tactic. Very useful on the run. When he first joined the foxes, he kept his generic american from living in Arizona. But after they won the final game against the ravens i feel like he went “I am truly safe now, I can be Neil Josten forever” and slowly just dropped the generic one and went for his comfort. If i gonna live, might as well be comfortable with my family.
