Anne's Dragon Age Femslash!
Happy Femslash February! Have a list of all the F/F fics I've written for Dragon Age so far. Listed from shortest to longest. Ratings are noted here; please check AO3 tags for full list of warnings/content notes.
Herald's Rest. Female Trevelyan/Sera, 370 words, rated M. The Inquisitor finds a respite.
In Darkness Enveloped. Cassandra/Leliana, 1800 words, rated E. The Conclave is destroyed. The Divine is dead. The Left Hand and Right Hand are at odds, and at loose ends. It's the worst of times. It's certainly the worst possible time for this.
What We Can Do Together. Shianni/Briala, 2000 words, rated T. Briala has never called her away from Denerim before, so Shianni can only assume this is important.
Gifts of the Hunt. Female Mahariel/Morrigan, 13000 words, rated M. Lyna Mahariel follows Morrigan through the eluvian, leaving behind her life with the Wardens and with her Dalish clan. With only each other, Morrigan's child, and the magic of a long-forgotten past, what kind of future will the two of them have together?
No Woman Rules Alone. Anora Mac Tir/Female Tabris, 34000 words, rated E. Warden Tabris convinced Anora and Alistair to marry for the good of Ferelden, to unite the lands against the darkspawn. They have settled into a functional partnership and even friendship, but there is no love between them and they both know it. Over time, Anora finds that it is the Warden-Commander and Arl of Amaranthine who has won not only her respect, but her heart.

if you’re doing dragon age requests: dai companions reacting to an inquiz asking if they need a hug. bonus points if it’s because they (inquisitor) noticed the companion was looking sad or tired, or because they’ve just been through something difficult (say, after one of their personal quests). thank you :)
Oh my dear anon.
I been waiting for this one.
I have spent literal nights working on this bad boy and lemme tell you if you don't like it illliterallystartcryingohmygod
Anyways, here you go babe <3
Blackwall/Thom Rainer: It was strange, honestly. Being Thom Rainer again. It felt almost wrong. He was thankful for the Inquisitor, their kindness. They could’ve left him, let him pay. But they didn’t. Somehow, they even forgave him.
It made him feel, free, in a way. Not just physically, with all the chains being taken off. But there was a metaphorical weight taken off his shoulders. Just now, he felt guilty for his lies.
“Blackw- I mean, Rainer.” A familiar voice called for him, pulling him away from the wood he worked on.
“Ah, Inquisitor-”
“Please, call me by my name.”
Rainer paused, before letting the name of the Inquisitor fall from his lips.
“Thank you, I like my name, I’d like to keep it.” The Inquisitor smiled, and Rainer smiled back.
“It suits you.” Rainer chuckled.
“I could say the same to you, Rainer.” The Inquisitor responded, catching him off guard.
Before Rainer could respond, the Inquisitor spoke quietly, “I’ve forgiven you, you know.”
And soon enough, Rainer was wrapped in a tight hug. And while he still felt as though he wasn’t worthy of such care and affection, he was going to make himself worthy.
But for now, he’ll be fine with the hug, wrapping his own arms around the Inquisitor.
Cassandra: It started when Cassandra snapped at the Inquisitor. She wouldn’t admit it, but she was still upset. Upset about the betrayal of her superior, upset about the death of her comrades. And she had taken it out on the Inquisitor.
She was thankful for the quiet camp that followed, and how spaced out the tents were. She didn’t know if she could face the Inquisitor just yet.
“I hope you know I’m not upset with you.” It didn’t matter if she could or couldn’t.
“Wh-Oh. I do apolog-”
“Cassandra, it’s okay. You’ve been through a lot in the past few weeks.” The Inquisitor comforted her, placing a hand on Cassandra’s back.
“I-” She had hesitated, wondering if she should pull away or stay. In her turmoil, the Inquisitor wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Cassandra turned to look at them before enveloping them in a hug.
“Thank you.” She said, and she meant it.
Cole: Cole was quiet, his thoughts had been more mixed up as of late. Sometimes he was quiet, sometimes he was loud. But he felt more at peace. It felt better to be out of limbo, but was he on the right side?
“Cole? I was looking for you, I wanted to check in.” The Inquisitor said as they climbed the tavern stairs.
“Oh, h-hello.” Cole responded, “I think I’m okay.”
“Really? That’s good.”
“Grey, muddled, furrowing your brow… you don’t believe me.” Cole looked down, a little dejected.
“I guess it’s hard to believe you’d be doing okay after everything that had happened.” The Inquisitor frowned, “I just want you to know, I’m here. And I wanted to ask if you wanted a hug.”
Cole paused, lifting his gaze to the Inquisitor. He opened his arms and they did the same.
“Warm, protected, so small, still young? I deserved more. I must be protected.” He said, reading the mind of his Inquisitor.
“Hey… just enjoy the hug, alright?” The Inquisitor replied.
“A-Alright.”
Cullen Rutherford: Scribbling down more missives, Cullen’s head throbbed. Lyrium or no lyrium, life was not easy for the former templar. He was so entrenched in the paperwork, he didn’t notice the door slowly open.
“Cullen?” The Inquisitor asked, curious about their friend.
“Ah, Inquisitor, I apologize. I was… busy.” Cullen looked up, sighing at the heap of papers littering his desk.
“I could always get a soldier or two to help you.” The Inquisitor suggested.
“Maker, no. They never do it right, and their handwriting is awful.” Cullen sighed, his fingers pinching the bridge of his nose, “Regardless, is there something I can do for you?”
“I just wanted to check in on you, after everything.” The Inquisitor asked, “I know we talked but…”
“Me? I am fine, doing much better.” Cullen smiled at the Inquisitor’s concern, he stood up to meet the Inquisitor infront of his desk.
“Good, I need my commander in tip-top shape.” The Inquisitor playfully punched Cullen’s shoulder.
“I’ll try…” Cullen laughed gently, gazing at the paperwork he still had to do.
“Why don’t I help? I’ve done this before.” The Inquisitor smiled, Cullen hesitated, wanting to say no, that the Inquisitor deserved rest, but the offer of help was too tempting.
Luckily, he did say yes. And no less than an hour later, the pair was done with the remaining papers.
“Do you mind doing all my paperwork from now on?” Cullen asked, the Inquisitor standing up and stretching.
“Not really, but I think you’ll mind more.” The Inquisitor joked, “But… I wanted to tell you… you work so much, I want you to know… how much I appreciate it.” The Inquisitor spoke gently.
“Oh, you don’t need to-”
“No, I need to. You deserve that much.” The Inquisitor spoke, and wrapped their arms around Cullen.
Cullen felt strange, a good type of strange. Being a templar meant… not many hugs. The last one he had gotten… was it from his family? He hadn’t seen them in ages… perhaps…
“Cullen. Stop overthinking this.” The Inquisitor ordered, and the commander quickly wrapped his arms around them.
He liked this.
Dorian Pavus: He was reading some cheesy Orlesian drama, and he heard footsteps climbing up the stairs, he had expected it to be one of the many messengers of the Inquisition, and was surprised when he saw the Inquisitor instead.
“I… I wanted to check up on you.” They said.
“What is there to check up on? I’m alive, aren’t I? Downed a few bottles of wine, but hey, don’t we all?” Dorian retorted.
“Dorian, I know you aren’t okay. I just wanted to make sure if there was anything I could do. You’re my friend. Probably one of my closest friends.” The Inquisitor responded.
“You? Friends with some devious little boy from the Imperium? My, what would Mother Giselle say?” Dorian deflected, but he was still touched by their declaration.
“Dorian.” The Inquisitor spoke sternly, causing Dorian to look up.
“I… Thank you… I… I appreciate your friendship.” Dorian spoke, turning towards the Inquisitor.
The two looked at each other for a moment before The Inquisitor opened their arms, and wordlessly, Dorian entered the warm embrace of his friend.
Iron Bull: The tavern was full, but it still felt lonely.
He cursed himself for looking to the Inquisitor for judgment, he should’ve decided. The chargers were his men, but so was the Qunari. Had he failed them?
Iron Bull could hear approaching steps and distinctly recognized them as the Inquisitor.
“Hey, Boss.” He smiled, only to see a sad smile on the Inquisitor’s face.
“I wanted to talk with you.” They said, and Iron Bull followed them out of the tavern.
The two rested on the Battlements, luckily, there weren’t any soldiers around to disturb the two.
“I wanted to let you know I’m here.” The Inquisitor said, “You lost someone today, lost… a part of yourself.” The Inquisitor spoke.
“Oh, you don’t need to worry about that, Boss. I’m fine.” Iron Bull smiled. But the Inquisitor saw right through that.
“Still, I’m sorry. I wanted to offer you…” The Inquisitor opened their arms, holding them out.
Iron Bull was confused for a moment, before hesitantly wrapping his arms around the Inquisitor. It was a gentle hug, one Iron Bull wasn’t entirely used to, but he felt some sort of relief when he relaxed into it.
The Qunari would eventually wage war on Ferelden and Orlais, and Iron Bull felt a sad pity in his heart for his oblivious Inquisitor.
But, he didn’t need to think of that. Not at the moment.
Josephine Montilyet: Another letter from Yvette, detailing how the family had been getting on without her. Josephine had been successful for the most part, with the assassins now off her back, she was happily able to begin rebuilding her family’s trading empire.
“You look pleased.” Josephine heard the door to her office be opened.
“Oh, yes! I cannot thank you enough for your help with the House of Repose, it is a relief knowing I won’t need to worry about assassins anymore. Of course, rebuilding the Montilyet name will be difficult, but not impossible.” She got up from her chair, smoothing her skirt before moving away from the desk.
“I don’t think I properly thanked you, all I did was ramble about my time as a bard.” She sighed, “It must’ve sounded, odd to you.”
“Quite the opposite, Josephine, and I wanted to apologize to you if I gave you that impression.” The Inquisitor said, their hands moving to Josephine’s shoulders, “You know I care for you right? When you talk about things, it makes me happy.”
Josephine didn’t know what to say, she found herself wrapping her arms around the Inquisitor as a response. Josephine was someone who rarely found a person who wanted to hear her talk. Who wanted to hear her ramble.
The Inquisitor was that person… she liked it.
Leliana: A quiet prayer to the altar in front of her, she almost didn’t hear the Inquisitor behind her. Luckily, she’s a spymaster for a reason, so she turned to face the Inquisitor right before they have begun to speak.
“Are you okay?” They said, leaning over to get a view of the altar.
“I’m fine, you don’t need to concern yourself with my state,” Leliana responded, standing up and walking over to the railing, watching the birds flap their wings.
“You’re my advisor, I have to worry about you.” The Inquisitor crossed their arms, looking up at the birds themselves.
Leliana paused, turned to The Inquisitor, and smiled, “I suppose I’m happy that it was you who became our inquisitor. You’ve done an excellent job.” She spoke.
“I feel like you need to hear that too.” The Inquisitor said, earning a silent Leliana. Leliana turned to The Inquisitor, hesitant to continue speaking, when was the last time she had been this vulnerable? The two stared at one another before the Inquisitor opened their arms, and the two silent began to hug. The pair said nothing, the two remaining silent while they hugged, but strangely, more was communicated than they expected. Words of praise, appreciation, sorrow, and just a little bit of platonic affection.
Sera: She was working on her arrows, angrily wrapping the twine around the sharp point. A knock at her door caught her off guard. She didn’t respond, allowing her silence to be an invitation.
“Sorry for intruding.” Sera heard the Inquisitor say, closing the door behind them.
“You don’t need to be,” Sera grumbled.
“Well, I know you’re upset, I assume it’s about the-”
“Prissy pants noble arse? Yeah, I ‘ppose you could say I’m pissed.” She snapped, turning around to face her friend. Her angry look melted, and her eyes dropped from the Inquisitor’s face to the floor.
It was silent for a while before the two spoke in unison.
“I’m sorry.” They said, only to look at each other before the two broke into a laugh.
“No, but seriously. I feel bad about how everything went…” The Inquisitor said.
“Sorry for snapping.” Sera sighed, she was surprised she was apologizing to Inky, as she had rarely apologized to anyone.
“Can I sit?” The Inquisitor asked, getting a nod in response.
“I didn’t mean for all that shite to happen, I thought sometin’ else.” Sera said, shrugging.
“It’s not your fault, you know?” The Inquisitor responded, wrapping an arm around Sera. Sera tensed up for a second, but when her friend began to pull away, worried they upset her, she pulled them back in.
Hugging Inky was nice, she thought.
Solas: Solas mourned his friend quietly, like he did most things. He sighed as he sat in his oversized chair, watching the tea in front of him. He was angry at the world he woke up into, mad at the mages for hurting the spirits he cared for, and mad at himself for not stopping it sooner. He wondered if he should be mad at the Inquisitor too, he could’ve gotten there sooner had they hurried up-
A quick curse and he stood up, how could he blame someone else? Someone who had actively helped him? How could-
“Solas?” He heard, turning to the door that led from the great hall to his rotunda.
“Inquisitor.” Solas breathed, it was almost like the Inquisitor had read his mind.
“I apologize for intruding, I just… wanted to check on you, after everything that happened…” The Inquisitor spoke slowly, fiddling with their hands.
“Inquisitor, you don’t need to” Solas began, only to be cut off.
“Solas, I should’ve- I should’ve been faster. Maybe if we didn’t take that trail, if we didn’t get so distracted by the halla, your friend… they… they would’ve been.”
Solas sighed if he felt bad before, but he felt worse now.
Walking over to The Inquisitor, he attempted to comfort them, but he found himself stopping short.
“I know this must be hard for you, losing a friend. I want you to know, I’m here for you.” They said, smiling at him. Solas was surprised, and before he knew it, he was wrapped up in a bear hug.
“Thank you… my friend.” He responded.
Varric Tethras: Cleaning Bianca should be like therapy, but it felt like torture at the moment. He was angry, hurt, and betrayed, it felt like the world was crashing on his shoulders. He kept asking himself about Bianca, the “real” Bianca. Why did he keep going back to her? Why did she keep coming back to him? Why does Red Lyrium keep coming into his life?
“Hey, Varric, you okay? You’ve been scrubbing that spot for an hour at least.” Varric heard a familiar voice behind him.
“Uh, yeah, I’m fine.” He said, quickly moving to another spot on Bianca.
“Normally, you’re a good liar.” He heard the Inquisitor laugh. Varric chuckled a little in response, turning to his friend.
“I guess I’m off today.” He shrugged.
“You’ve been off ever since-” The Inquisitor stopped themselves, “Varric, do you need a hug?”
Varric paused, he had to think about it for a bit, but he found himself nodding.
He wished in Inquisitor knew how strange they were, how they seemed untouchable but down-to-earth. They were a rare breed.
But he stopped his thoughts, stilling the words in his mind for just a moment while he held and was held by his friend.
Vivienne: A response from Bastien’s son; “Thank you” was the most straightforward summary. There were flowery words, but Vivienne knew what Laurent had meant.
“You look upset.” Vivienne heard behind her, and her gaze lifted from the paper to the balcony in front of her. She plastered a smile and waved her hand as if she were batting away whatever negativity hung around her.
“Oh of course not. I’m perfectly fine, darling.” She had begun, turning around to face the Inquisitor. But, the second she locked eyes with them, she faltered.
“I’m sorry. I… I wish I could’ve done more for him.” The Inquisitor began.
“There’s no need to say such things,” Vivienne responded.
“Then… maybe I could just…” The Inquisitor sighed before taking a step closer to her, holding their arms out. Vivienne was taken aback, she couldn’t recall the last time she hugged or was hugged. She chalked it up to her pitying the Inquisitor for their soft heart. But as the Inquisitor wrapped their arms around her, Vivienne did the same. She melted into the embrace, having forgotten the feeling of safety.
She wouldn’t mind it happening again, but she would never ask for it again.

In the Shattering of Things, Ch. 29: The Last Night
A Dragon Age: Inquisition longfic featuring Rose Trevelyan x Cullen with a side helping of x Garrett Hawke.
It's time to head to the blow out party that Varric and Josephine have put together for Rose on the last night before the Breach. With Dorian, Bull, Sera, Blackwall, Cassandra and a tavern full of sloppy revelers, there's plenty of opportunity for mischief.
.....“So, Freckles. When you survive this thing, what’s the first thing you’re going to do?” asks Varric with a nudge. My mind automatically fixes upon Cullen, a flash of fantasy flitting through my mind as it often does. First a ridiculous, impossible image of him in the temple ruins disregarding the eyes of hundreds of onlookers to cradle my exhausted body in his arms for a grateful kiss. Then I imagine marching into his tent, yanking him across his desk by the scruff of his mantle and boldly planting one on him as an alternative. And then I imagine…
“Well?” presses Varric impatiently when I’ve been lost in my futile reverie for more than a moment. The ferocity of the blush in my cheeks has Varric looking at me in some amusement. “Oh, did I interrupt a darling little daydream?” My glare forces his hands into the air in surrender. “I still expect an answer.” Varric compels me to seriously consider my survival.
“Wash the funk of all that magic off me in a hot bath,” I offer. He snorts and casts me a knowing look.
“I’d rather hear about whatever that first thought was that made you blush so suddenly. Guarantee it’s spicier,” says Varric.
“I’m sure you would,” I reply, drinking deeply, hiding my cheeks behind the oversized tankard.
“We could play a little guessing game. I could rattle off likely candidates until your face lights up,” he continues with a puckish twist of his lips, taking a drink himself. “I doubt it would take long. Two guesses maybe. One if I’m right.”
“Varric, I swear I will walk right out of here,” I promise. And yet a quid pro quo is in order. “I’ll tell you what, you tell me all about the deep pining you do all day long for a certain unnamed woman and I’ll tell you what you want to know.” He gives me a flat look and the subject drops like a hot potato. Sera arrives with a platter of handpies for the table, declaring that she’d helped Flissa bake and assemble all one hundred or so and that we’d better bloody well appreciate it or else. An intensive discussion ensues about what she could mean by or else...... Read More on A03

Bedside Manner
For @sketchyelvenass, who suggested to write Sera or Alis getting sick and one having to take care of the other.
------
“You are the absolute worst.”
Sera rolled her eyes and sat down heavily on the edge of the bed. A groan emitted from beneath the blankets as the bed bounced from her movement.
“Not my fault you fell into a nasty undead bog.” She reached for the cup sitting on the bedside table and stirred, making a face at the dark flakes that swirled in the amberish green liquid. There’s no telling what the healers put into it, something to help bring down the Inquisitor’s fever they said. If the smell indicated taste, it would be gross. “Come up now, time to take your gross tea.”
With another groan, Alis burrowed her head beneath a pillow. “Don’t wannaaaa.” She whined. She coughed deeply into the pillow and moaned pitifully into the sheets.
Sera reached and poked along Alis’ back, making the woman twitch and squirm beneath the blankets. A hand reached out from underneath the sea of cotton and wool to bat her away. “Noooo.”
Stubborn ass.
Sera sighed. “Well, since you won’t take your meds, I suppose I’ll have to go take this back to the healers.” She shifted on the bed, keeping an eye on the lump of blankets. “Aaand they’ll have to come back themselves. With icky tonics. Probably the super thick one, looks like curdled milk, smells like three-day old shite and vomit.”
That got Alis moving. She looked a right mess too, with her black hair sticking up in odd places, red nose, and dark circles beneath her eyes. Sera might feel pity for her if she took her medicine like she was supposed to. “You really are the worst.” The Inquisitor said as she shifted to sit up. “Threatening me with gross medicine while I’m at death’s door.” She sniffled and coughed again.
Sera laughed loudly. “Death’s door? Hardly!” She held out the tea which Alis begrudgingly took. She cradled the cup in her hand and took a sip of it. “Uh uh,” Sera said as Alis made a face. “Healer said the whole thing so knock it back. Go on now, no fuss.”
Alis shot a half-hearted glare at her but did as she was told. A shudder went through her body and she shook her head, held out the cup for Sera to take. “No honey.” She turned her head as another deep cough overcame her, turning into a fit that stole her breath away. Exhausted, Alis laid down and drew the blankets up to her chest.
Sera set the cup aside and laid a hand on her forehead. She hummed thoughtfully and felt Alis’ cheeks. “Don’t feel no higher from earlier.” She commented, letting her palm linger on the human’s warm cheek. Alis leaned into her touch and she opened her eyes, bright with the fever that still burned. “Cough sounds better though. Jus’ spit out whatever comes up, don’t swallow it.”
“Only for you, dear.”
Sera snorted, shook her head with a smile. “Stupid.” She said fondly. She brushed hair back from her face, thinking how it needed a good wash. She was pale too, far too pale. “You need to hurry up and feel better, so we can head out somewhere. Getting boring stuffing trainin’ dummies with bees and salting Cully’s tea.”
Alis turned her head to cough into the pillow, trailing off into a light laugh. “Could try sneaking up on Bull again. See if you can put corks on his horns?”
“Psh, the big guy always sees me comin’. Says he can see me even when his eye’s closed which is friggin’ weird, right?”
“Qunari magic maybe.”
“Ugh, hope not. Got enough mages hangin’ ‘round as it is.”
Alis coughed again, another deep bout that left her breathless. Sera watched, not enjoying watching her lover be ill and being helpless to do anything for it. It wasn’t like a posh nob or ugly red Templar, something easy she could fill with arrows. Couldn’t put arrows in this one, couldn’t punch it in the face either. Well, the latter she could do but she liked Alis’ face too much to do that.
She leaned up and kissed Alis’ forehead, feeling the warmth radiating from her. Alis murmured, eyes fallen closed again, and sighed through her nose. “Mm, stay a bit?” She asked quietly, voice heavy with sleep. The medicine was working.
Sera moved to lay down beside her, keeping herself on top of the blankets and curled next to her. She brushed back her lover’s dark hair, listened as her breathes slowly deepened and body relaxed. She kissed the side of her head and kept running her fingers through her hair, for the moment content.

Cullen/Inquisitor OneShot
Hey everyone! This is my first time posting a OneShot kind of deal thing on tumblr. I just love writing and I honestly daydream about Cullen more than I should since he’s fictional. Anyway, I have an account on AO3 but I’ve had A LOT going on since I last updated so I’m just gonna continue writing here. Thanks for reading! <3
••••
“It’s so fucking cold, it’s miserable, and I’m so done with this place.” Belle scoffs, blowing heat between her hands.
“You’re the one that wanted to leave, m’lady’quisitor.” Sera laughs.
“I know, I just, I wanted to clear my head.” Belle sighs. Belle tries to clear the images of the man she swoons over. She tries to clear the images of his godly build, that smile, those eyes, everything. She wants it gone.
“Ya, ya. I get it. You miss pretty boy don’t ya?” She says, a smile creeping on her lips.
“Sera... that’s ridiculous.” She lowers her head, pulling a strand of hair behind her ear.
“I hate that nobility pish you have to put up wit. Cantcha just not follow rules?” Sera asks, annoyed.
“It doesn’t matter, even if I wanted to. The commander and I, we come from two different worlds.” Belle huffs, looking out over the wall that cascades over the snowy mountains underneath them. The sun was slowly making its way into the sky after a long, hard, night of negotiations in Redcliffe.
“Isabelle.” Sera protests.
“Sera, enough. He... he doesn’t think of me that way, anyway.” Belle turns around and crosses her arms against her chest. “It’s just a simple infatuation.” She thinks back to the day in the war room where she was blatantly watching the commander as he spoke about whatever she wasn’t paying attention to. She knew she wanted him, she was just so scared. The way he gripped the firm pommel grip, the way his finger wrapped around it. The way he stood, so strong.
“Infatuation my ass! You know damn well those rich tits don’t give a rats ass about you! Your parents sent you to the frickin’ chantry for fucks sake. Now that you’re miss save the world from damnation, everyone and their mother wants you to marry their half-wit sons. It’s your life, innit?” Sera says, more annoyed than before. “Cullen feels the same way as you. Everyone in skyhold sees it.”
“It might be my life but it will never be MY life, Sera. Let’s go home. I’m sick of this shitty weather.” Belle sighs, pulling her hood full of fur over her long, brunette locks. She pulls the letters from her bag, examining them sadly, then stuffing them back deep down.
“Did we miss something?” Cassandra asks, her and Solas trying to read Belle’s stoic face under her hood.
“Nah, Miss tits over here ain’t in the mood.” Sera says.
The party hops onto their mounts after a good job done and over with, heading back to skyhold to finally be warm and get fed. It’s been two weeks since they’ve been home. They were away not only because Belle wanted to clear her thoughts of the commander but because the mages requested her presence. It was never easy dealing with their constant demands and bitching about the templars.
••
The group returned to a warm welcoming at the gates, they were met by Josie, Dorian, Vivienne, Varric, and the rest of the residents in Skyhold. Everyone always wanted to see Belle, she was the Herald of Andraste! She was everything anyone wanted to be. She was the embodiment of grace, of kindness, and beauty. She was a sight to be seen and a flame never to be dimmed.
Even though Belle wanted to clear her mind of the man she admired, she was disappointed to see that he was not at the gate waiting for her like usual.
“It’s good to have you back home, my lady.” Josephine smiles, greeting Belle as she walks through the doors of the war room.
“Yes, did your negotiating go well, Inquisitor?” Leliana asks, her hands behind her back.
“Mhm.” Belle replies, tiredly.
“Go get some rest, Isabelle.” Josie says, putting her papers down onto the table.
“I guess the commander has decided our meeting wasn’t good enough to attend?” Belle retorts.
“Well, you see, the commander is actually dealing with some paperwork in his room.” Josie replied.
“Oh, yes, Cullen has been receiving marriage proposals from woman all over Thedas. From what I understand he’s turned down four very nice young ladies this week.” Leliana giggles
Belles fingers grip the edge of the table, breaking a piece of wood off. The loud snap echoed through the room as if it was a pin dropping in a silent room. Belle was shocked to see what she had just done, looking at her hands, she throws the small piece of wood across the room.
“I’m sorry, I’m still getting used to this dragon blood shit. Bull has been trying to help me but I’m still not used to the new strength.” Belle sighs.
Belle takes her leave and heads for her favorite spot on the battlements. She practically runs out of the war room. She is angry, fuming actually. What was she feeling in her chest? Disappointment? Sadness? Rage? It was so empty in her lungs, the crisp air of Skyhold greeted her as she whizzed past anyone who walked by her outside. The guards greeted her at every spot they were stationed, it only annoyed her more. “It’s fucking Isabelle!” She yelled inside her head, trying to shake the divine title from her head. She wasn’t anything special, she just happened to get magic, she just happened to fall through the fade, it was all circumstance. Not some divine bullshit.
Belle was so consumed by her thoughts and her anger, she didn’t care who she walked by or who she bumped into. The tears were blurring her vision, the rage blurring her thoughts, her heart was aching at the thought of Cullen getting married. She loves him, from the moment she laid eyes on him fighting demons at the very first rift she closed, he was her salvation. All because of her noble birth, she could lose him, lose the life she wishes for so terribly. It can all be taken away.
Belle started to run, she was almost there, that broken piece of stone over the stables. That was her spot. That’s where she went to scream, to cry, to be by herself because that’s all she can count on. Herself. Life has taught her that many times.
But before she could reach her little piece of peace, a hand gripped her elbow and pulled her off her path. It was like she was being coathangered off of a mount, it took her breath away for a moment. Tears flying out of her eyes into the thin, cold air. Her long hair, flying in front of her face as she is pulled back into someone.
“I’ve been calling you, Inquisitor!” The deep, sweet, honey-like voice echoed through her head.
She stopped dead in her tracks, hearing the ONE voice she was afraid to her coming back home. All she wanted to do was get her thoughts in order but no, mr.handsome hair HAD to come after her.
“Good evening, commander.” Belle replied, keeping her head down and her hair covering the mess smeared across her face.
“I’ve been writing to you while you were away, why didn’t you respond? I was getting anxious.” He said, worry in his beautiful voice. Belles heart cracked even more knowing she caused him any kind of anxiety.
“I, uh, I’m sorry. I might’ve just forgot I had them, we were so busy. You know?” She says, tapping her foot, squirming under Cullen’s gaze. She could feel his eyes on her and it made her heart race and her face heat up like a campfire. “But I gotta go.”
“Wait!” He says, pulling her back again, this time by her hand. “Maker! You’re freezing, Isabelle. Why aren’t you wearing anything for this kind of weather?! Wasn’t it ten times colder in Redcliffe?” He disapproves.
“Commander, with all do respect, you’re not my father. I will dress myself how I wish.” She huffs. “I really have to go now.”
Cullen grabs her by the shoulders enough to stand her still, he wipes her hair from her face and sees what she had been trying to hide the entire time. His chest tightened at the sight of such a strong woman reduced to tears from some unethical reason. Cullen had never seen her cry, ever.
“Isabelle... what happened?” His voice lowers with concern written across his face.
“It’s nothing.” She sighs, looking away from him.
Cullen had just finished writing more replies to the many who were writing him, his hands were bare and untouched by his leather gloves. He missed the inquisitor while she was away. They had always enjoyed each other’s company until now, it worried him.
“Isabelle, come with me to my room and we can talk like we always do? Okay?” He says, trying to smile in reassurance to her. Cullen knew she liked hot black tea, he thought back to the many times they stayed up late drinking it.
Belles heart was beating so fast she could feel it behind her face. The commanders hands were calloused but they felt like heaven resting on her frozen cheeks. She was melting under his skin, oh she wanted him to touch her more but it was only going to happen in her dreams.
She nodded following him into his office/bedroom. He opened the door for her, allowing her to sit in the chair adjacent from his desk as he sat in front of her.
The atmosphere was thick, awakward, and was like watching paint dry. Belle felt stuck and so did Cullen.
“Now talk to me.” He says, staring deep into her.
Belle was fiddling with the pieces of skin on the sides of her fingertips, a nervous habit she always had since childhood.
“How have your many proposals been treating you, Commander?” Belle asks, treading hazardous waters.
“What does that have to do wi- oh.” He says, his face reddening, his breath catching in his throat. “Please tell me I didn’t cause your discomfort so much that it made you cry?”
“Well, no, I-“
Cullen shifted in his seat, running his fingers through his curly tufts of hair, letting out a deep sigh.
“You haven’t been writing to me, you ignored me on the battlements until I chased you down, and you looked like you wanted to kill something. You haven’t even addressed me by name, like we agreed weeks ago. This is my fault.” He says, interrupting her. “I’m sorry.”
“No, comm-Cullen, I’m sorry. I have been imagining stupid things in my head like any young maiden would... just stupid girl stuff. Not your fault.” Belle defends. She felt stupid now that he felt this way.
Cullen rose from his desk, making his way to Belle as he galantly strode across the room. Belle immediately stood up, making her way to the door trying to leave before he could reach her.
Cullen took her by her upper arm and turned her into his chest. He looked down at her, into her tear stained, bloodshot eyes. His beautiful amber eyes pierced through her, it felt like he was looking into her soul. She always felt that with him and nobody else, he was special, he was who she wanted.
He backed her into the now closed and locked door, placing an arm over her head. She was shorter than him, like actually shorter. Belle was at least five foot two and Cullen was a literal beast towering over her.
He lowered his head, his nose brushing hers. A hand snaking up her hip onto her side, pulling her close. “This is my fault.”
“H-how?” Belle stammers, shocked by his actions.
“You didn’t come home when you said you were, you were only supposed to be gone for a week and you were gone for two weeks and three days. I was worried sick, you know.” He smiles, his voice lowering once again.
At this point Belle thought her body was going to spontaneously combust.
“Cullen, I’m sor-“
“Don’t be sorry, I know. Did you think that the way I’ve been with you, I’d be the same with anyone else? I know how you feel, love.” He replies, cutting her off again.
What?
“Wait, what?” Belle asks, surprised.
“Oh, sweet maker. You know I’m not good with words, Isabelle...” he says, frustrated with a smile.
In one swift movement Belle’s lips were captured in one sweet, long awaited, moment by the commander. His strong hands were gently wrapped around her face, his fingertips in between her hair, pulling her into him as close as he could get her. Belle’s hands found their way at his sides, the cold plates shocked her fingertips. Their lips danced playfully together. Both Belle and Cullen had waited too long for this moment, the fire between them only just starting to fully become one flame.
“How long have you waited to do this?” Belle asks, in between breaths.
“Longer than I should admit, my love.” He smiles, rushing back into their heated passion.

Running With The Halla, Ch. 17
[Read on AO3] Pairing: Solas x Female Lavellan, Dorian Pavus x Male Trevelyan Rating: Explicit Tags: Hurt/Comfort, Mutual Pining, Angst, Fix-it of Sorts, and more Warnings: Depiction of Violence, Grief/Mourning, Referenced Deaths, NSFW → Please mind the full list of tags on AO3 → NSFW chapter will be marked with * A/N: Kicking off 2022 with a new chapter for this fic. Dorian is running into some trouble in this one. I hope you enjoy it. <3 ______
Chapter 17 – No Such Thing As Destiny
Dorian’s mood increased considerably once the Inquisitor’s merry band of soldiers left the ragged ridges of the Frostbacks behind. Three days after their departure from Skyhold, the icy winds receded and gave way to soft gusts that carried the promise of warmth and greener grounds. It wouldn’t be long before the entire train would come clear of the mountains and would enter the Fereldan lowlands. From there, it would only be a short distance to the Waking Sea and the remains of the Imperial Highway that would lead the Inquisitor and her entourage onto Orlesian soil.
It seemed he wasn’t the only one eager to leave the mountains. The grim mood with which the little army had set out was slowly dispersing, prompting the men and women around him to tell hopeful tales and make jokes. The Iron Bull was particularly keen on sharing his most impressive war stories with the soldiers. His second in command, Cremisius Aclassi, regularly commented on the retellings of skirmishes and bar fights with a disgruntled sound and an intense rolling of the eyes. Yet the young man grinned as the soldiers listened to Bull’s stories. It seemed he was happy the Qunari had found new people to entertain.
“You’re looking better,” Sera said suddenly and eyed Dorian curiously. She had come closer, guiding her chestnut mare to ride next to Dorian’s brown stallion.
Dorian took a long swig from the waterskin he carried slung across his chest, wishing it contained wine. He hadn’t had a proper drink since that day he’d spoken to Alexius. Although, “proper” was a vast exaggeration if the only choice one had was between cooking sherry and the stale dwarven ale at the “Herald’s Rest”.
“And why wouldn’t I be?” Dorian responded cheerily. “The sun is shining, the temperatures are rising. It’s a lovely day to be out in the wilderness.”
“Are you drunk?” Sera asked, her brows knit in a furrow that made her forehead wrinkle generously. “You hate being outdoors! Can’t remember a single day of you not complaining about it since… well, since forever .”
“I admit, I wish I was drunk,” Dorian sighed. “But, alas, I’m terribly sober.”

The Void Between Us
Title: The Void Between Us
Author: Gefionne
Rating: Mature
Words: 49,862– Finished
Spoilers for: DAO, DA2, DAI
Admin’s assessment: 4.5/5
Admin L’s notes:
Cullen/Inky, Cullen/Female Trevelyan
Sometimes, I want to read about Cullen getting a softer treatment than he did in DAO and DA2. This fic fills the bill and reimagines Trevelyan as an apprentice in the Ferelden Circle.
The structure of this fic worked for me-- I liked how the back-and-forth between past and present prevented the pace of any one thread from stagnating. It was lovely to read about the mutual regard that develops between the two as templar trainee and apprentice, and how the two childhood friends reunite during the events of DAI.
Childhood friends, friends to lovers, Mutual Pining, meddling Wynne, curious Varric, Sera appearance.
Summary:
Though she was born in Ostwick in the Free Marches, Enchanter Trevelyan was trained as a mage at the Ferelden Circle of Magi, where she befriended and—against all that she was taught—fell in love with a Templar novice named Cullen Rutherford. Separated after Uldred’s rebellion broke the Circle during the Fifth Blight, they are unexpectedly reunited under the banner of the Inquisition.

A Very Descriptive Profile of Your Muse
Tagged by @lilbittymonster Thank you! 🌼
Tagging @st0nergh0ul @fiadhaisteach @ranaspkillnarieth @madangel19 @steamcaptain @the-desert-dancer @kenais-posts @madman-of-amargosa and anyone else who’d like to play. No pressure!
Oh dear... Do I use my most prolific character? Or do I use the one I really want to get started on? 🤔 How about my soon-to-be-written first and my most prolific under the cut? Yeah, that sounds good.
Tumblr media
NAME.   Evelyn “Eve” Marion Trevelyan
AGE.   30-ish (haven’t decided exactly)
SPECIES.   Human
GENDER.   Female
ORIENTATION.   Bisexual
INTERESTS.   Reading, history, swordplay, and horsemanship.
PROFESSION.   Warrior, (briefly) emissary, and Inquisitor.
BODY TYPE.   Tall and muscular. (Dammit, Bioware, we need body-sliders.)
EYES.  Very light blue-grey with Fade green around the pupils. Formerly hazel blue. Slight squint and always with dark circles/bags. She’s Tired(tm), okay?
HAIR.   Ash-blonde, almost platinum. Formerly light brown. Kept short for practical reasons, but a rather unfortunate case of helmet-hair.
SKIN.   Extremely pale. Formerly more light brown/tanned (sienna? I headcanon all Free Marchers have darker skin tones compared to the southern peoples like Fereldans).
FACE.   Square-ish jaw, thick eyebrows, previously broken nose, high cheekbones, and somewhat full lips. More masculine than feminine. Aforementioned bags under her eyes, crow’s feet, and wrinkles around mouth. She did manage to keep her freckles after being “faded”.
HEIGHT.   6′
COMPANIONS.  All of the DA:I companions, but travels most often with Iron Bull, Dorian, Varric, and/or Solas. Has no major problems with any of the others, though Sera’s a bit too loud a times. Would rather not travel with Vivienne if she can help it and the feeling’s mutual; they’re both very strong-willed women with almost exact opposite viewpoints.
ANTAGONISTS.   Coryphetits. The Chantry. Templars. Bears. So many bears. Why do the bears always come after her?
DRINKS.   Fresh, clean water is fine.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ?   Doesn’t actually like alcohol, but will drink socially. Ale with Varric and Blackwall, wine with Cassandra and Dorian, and whatever Bull puts in front of her. That last one doesn’t often end well for her. And it never ends well when it’s with Sera.
SMOKES ?   Only when set on fire. Yes, it’s happened.
DRUGS ?   No thanks.
DRIVERS LICENSE ?   Not applicable, but is a very accomplished horse rider.
Tumblr media
(No reason for it other than I just really like this picture of her.)
Tumblr media
(I realize I don’t actually have that many shots of this character. Also, I’ve changed her up a bit over the years.)
NAME.   Honoria “Nora” Morris-Delaney
AGE.   Looks to be between 30 and 35 (I’ve forgotten exactly), but is actually around 240 years old.
SPECIES.   Human
GENDER.   Female
ORIENTATION.   Bisexual
INTERESTS.   Tinkering, gardening, law, and reading.
PROFESSION.   Previously a lawyer (not her choice), now Minutemen General and resident fix-all.
BODY TYPE.   Tall, athletic, and fairly curvy due to having a baby.
EYES.  Very unusual and striking blue.
HAIR.   Red/auburn (dyed).
SKIN.   Sort of... rose beige? Not pale, but not very tanned.
FACE.   Very feminine, rounded, plucked eyebrows, slightly up-tipped nose, cupid’s bow mouth, and soft cheekbones. Could have been a model if she wanted, but she liked working with her hands more.
HEIGHT.   5′11″
COMPANIONS.  Nick Valentine (former lover, now just very good friend), Hancock (best friend), Preston Garvey (second-in-command, missed opportunity), and Edward Deegan (husband).
ANTAGONISTS.   The Brotherhood of Steel, specifically Maxson. Unfortunately wasn’t able to reason with the Institute, so had to eliminate it; she saved as many as she could. All the feckin’ BUGS.
DRINKS.   Nuka Cola, any flavor. Purified water.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ?   Not enough to get drunk, but occasionally a beer or a shot bourbon. One very memorable night with vodka, nudge nudge wink wink.
SMOKES ?   No thanks.
DRUGS ?  Rad-X or Med-X when necessary. Very rarely berry Mentats. She doesn’t like being out of her head.
DRIVERS LICENSE ?  Pre-war, yes. The car was actually hers.

Ashariani Lavellan as a Companion
hello!! a few of my friends have done this so i’m excited to do this and i think i might try my hand at a da2 version...we’ll see!
Tumblr media
(sorry i have no in-game screenshots i play on console :///)
Name: Ashariani Lavellan (she/her)
Race, Class, & Specialization: Elf / Mage / Knight-Enchanter
Varric’s nickname for them: Glimmer
Default Tarot Card: The Empress (upright)
How they are recruited: Ashariani can be found talking to the druffalo from Where The Druffalo Roam. When approached, she will:
(if Trevelyan) - Step back cautiously, but look on in amazement, introducing herself.
(if Lavellan) - Introduce herself, asking you if you remember her from the clan. You can either say yes, which will allow her to respond with excitement, or no, which will make her smile fade as she shrugs and mumbles, “Figured.”
(if Cadash or Adaar) - Show visible excitement and claim she’s “never met your people before” before panicking and expressing she hopes that doesn’t offend.
She will explain her clan sent her to look for another member who had not returned and either bring them home or report back what happened to them. She tells you she’ll return the druffalo home if you help her find her clan member. If you agree, the cutscene ends and she and the druffalo disappear, Where The Druffalo Roam being replaced by the quest Lost and Found. Following the quest marker, you find her in the hills. When spoken to, a cutscene begins where she expresses she doesn’t feel safe. A battle with a few Templars takes place. After combat is over, another cutscene starts, and this time Ashariani finds her missing clan member. They are badly injured. She will heal them with her magic, and expresses disappointment as they rush off without a word to her. She’ll turn back to you, explaining that as much as she loves them, she feels out of place with her clan. She offers to join the Inquisition, offering Dalish knowledge (if not Lavellan) and friendliness. If you agree, the cutscene ends and you can add her to your party. If disagree, she will become upset and rush away quickly.
Where they are in Haven: She can be found next to Varric. The two of them seem to be in constant conversation. She is normally sitting on the stone wall behind him, but will occasionally get down and walk around, usually to warm her hands in the fire. The initial conversation with her will have her remark on every companion you have so far, focusing heavily on Varric and/or Iron Bull, if you’ve recruited him by then. She will also express her delight to be accepted in the Inquisition and promises she won’t get into too much trouble, then asks you how you’re doing.
Where they are in Skyhold: She can be found by an empty spot near Cassandra. The initial conversation with her will have Cassandra looking up, yelling at her to come down. You can ask Cassandra who she’s talking to, which will make her scoff and begrudgingly admit it’s Ashariani. You then call up to her and wait a few seconds as she climbs back down. She admits with a smile that she likes to climb and Cassandra walks away, throwing her hands in the air. You can then talk to Ashariani about how she likes Skyhold. She’ll say it’s magnificent and that she’s happy you closed the Breach, but will then sober up and ask you how you are. You can:
tell the truth, admitting Haven shook you up
crack a joke, but eventually admit you’re fine/you’re shaken up
lie, telling her not to worry and that you’ll be just fine
ask her if she’s alright
If asked if she’s alright, she’ll be taken aback and confess Haven scared her a lot, gaining you approval. With medium-high approval, at the end of the conversation, she’ll admit she likes that you’re friends. With high enough approval, you can flirt for the first time, and she’ll become flustered before the conversation ends. Neutral-low approval will gain you a “I’m glad you’re okay” with no follow-up.

War Table:
A Very Important Request
(after reaching Skyhold)
Inquisitor,
Scouts desperately need to go to this location I’ve marked on the map. It’s for very important things. Please send them quickly and report back to ONLY ME what they’ve found. Thank you.
--Ashariani
Options:
>Leliana: Maybe it truly is important. I’ll send out a few scouts.
>Josephine: I do not believe Ashariani would waste our time and resources for something frivolous. However, to be on the safe side, I will send ahead to the nobles in the land to send their own scouts, if it pleases you.
>Cullen: What? This sounds like a waste of time, she won’t even specify what she needs them for! Fine. Two guards, but that’s it.
Results:
>Leliana: My scouts found some rare stones and herbs, but nothing more. I wonder if this is what she wanted?
(Ashariani approves, Prophet’s Laurel x4, Royal Elfroot x2, Everite x2)
>Josephine: Perhaps I was incorrect. Nothing but some rare materials. The scouts were sent home with plenty compensation, so at least we have been put in a better light.
(Ashariani approves, Influence x30, Amrita Vein x3, Felandaris x4, Stormheart x2)
>Cullen: We cannot be wasting our resources like this. We acquired some materials along the way.
(Ashariani slightly approves, Ghoul’s Beard x4, Felandaris x4, Silverite x3)
Another Very Important Request
(after A Very Important Request)
Inquisitor,
Sorry to bother you once more. Please send people to Val Royeaux to obtain these materials. They’re for a very important project, I promise. Mae gen ti fy ngair [you have my word].
--Ashariani
(below is a list of materials: ring velvet, silk brocade, dales loden wool, and imperial vestment cotton)
Options:
>Leliana: Again? What could she possibly be making? I can send one or two scouts out to fetch these items.
>Josephine: She is persistent, is she not? A few favors can be exchanged for these materials at no cost to us. It will be done.
>Cullen: (not participating in this mission)
Results:
>Leliana: The materials were easy enough to obtain. Our scouts being spotted in public created quite a buzz.
(Ashariani approves, Influence x50, Ring Velvet x3, Silk Brocade x3, Dales Loden Wool x3, Imperial Vestment Cotton x 3)
>Josephine: The materials have been collected. We’ve created quite a stir with all this running around.
(Ashariani approves, Influence x50, Ring Velvet x3, Silk Brocade x3, Dales Loden Wool x3, Imperial Vestment Cotton x 3)
Companion Quest:
For What?
(after Another Very Important Request)
When spoken to, Ashariani will request you personally go to the map location previously mentioned in A Very Important Request. If denied, she will disapprove and claim she is going there herself and the cutscene will end. If this happens, she will not be available for your party the first time you leave Skyhold after that conversation (she will return after). If accepted, Ashariani is locked into your party and a temporary location appears on your map.
Upon arriving, you are immediately attacked by bandits who had heard the Inquisition had visited. After the battle, Ashariani apologizes and asks you to collect the metals and herbs. Once you find all of the materials, she will exclaim, “Perfect!” which will gain some confused remarks from your companions, which she will not truthfully respond to. You are then allowed to leave the location and it disappears from your map.
After visiting two more locations after that, upon returning to Skyhold, Ashariani will run up and greet you. She will ask if you’ll take her and Iron Bull to slay a high dragon and collect its bone and webbing. You can:
say yes / say yes and flirt (female only)
say yes, but ask her why
say no
express confusion, as she has protested to killing dragons before
Option 1: Causes her great joy, she jumps in the air before giggling and running off, thanking you in the process. The cutscene ends.
Option 2: She’ll get excited, then give you a cryptic answer before thanking you and running off. The Inquisitor says, “She’s determined to keep it a secret, huh?” and the cutscene ends.
Option 3: She will ask you if you’re serious, to which you can reply yes or no. If yes, she will become very upset and mumble something about you disappointing her, and the cutscene ends, gaining you major disapproval. If no, she’ll breathe out a sigh of relief and smile, punching you in the arm for teasing her. She thanks you and the cutscene ends.
Option 4: She’ll shrug, trying to look nonchalant, and say, “someone has changed my mind.” You can press this further by asking who, but she’ll only press her finger to her lips. Options A, B, and C are offered again and the cutscene follows accordingly.
If accepted, she and Iron Bull are locked into your party. You’ll get a few lines of dialogue between Iron Bull and Ashariani as they approach the high dragon, and some after. After collecting the bone and webbing, she thanks you and you gain major approval. After a visit to Skyhold and back, when arriving at Skyhold again, a cutscene immediately starts.
All of your companions (minus Blackwall and Vivienne) and the advisors are found in the Herald’s Rest. Upon your arrival, the tavern bursts into cheers, and Ashariani reveals that she’s been making gifts for everyone, explaining that Vivienne already has hers and she didn’t want to come to the party and doesn’t even mention Blackwall (but implies he didn’t get a gift). Some are clothes, jewelry, weapons, and armor, and each companion has their moment of showing off their gift. Iron Bull makes note to mention that his is a pink shawl with dragon bone accents, and he loves it. Ashariani then tells the Inquisitor she arranged the party and they had a gift of their own, which is a powerful set of armor. You can:
accept the gift and thank Ashariani / accept the gift and flirt with Ashariani (female only)
accept the gift but shut down the party, telling everyone to get back to work
deny the gift and lash out at Ashariani for wasting so much of your time
Option 1: She will give you a hug and the cutscene will end, fading to black as the crowd sings and dances. (note: flirting with her will gain some positive teasing companion comments).
Option 2: You will gain disapproval from every companion present, mostly Ashariani. Iron Bull will try to convince you to change your mind. You can accept or deny. If denied, you will walk out and the cutscene will end with Iron Bull comforting Ashariani. If accepted, Iron Bull punches you in the arm and the mood shifts back to a good one, the cutscene ending with a fade to black as the crowd dances.
Option 3: You will gain major disapproval from every companion present, mostly Ashariani. Iron Bull and Varric will step up to defend her.
Iron Bull: Come on, Boss. She was trying to do something nice for us.
(if in a romance with Bull): Kadan. Is that necessary? She was trying to do something nice for you.
Varric: (sarcastically) Calm down, Inquisitor. We’re all just having a bit of fun during the apocalypse.
(if in a romance with Solas) Solas: (sternly) Vhenan. May I speak to you privately?
You can then choose to apologize or leave the party without a word. Leaving the party will gain more disapproval from Ashariani, enough to completely end the friendship. If apologized to, Ashariani will put on a brave face and accept your apology, but leave the party looking dejected, earning you disapproval. Sera will exclaim, “What’s up [their] arse, huh?” and the cutscene will fade to black with companions filing out of the Herald’s Rest, looking angry/upset.
Romance Quest:
A New Beginning
(after For What?)
Upon visiting Ashariani’s normal spot, you find Varric instead. He tells you he hasn’t been able to find Ashariani all day, and he’s getting worried. Not knowing where to find her, you go to Solas, who tells you she’s swimming in a lake not that far from Skyhold. You can ask him if anything’s wrong, to which he will simply purse his lips and say, “It is not my place to say.”
The scene shifts to approaching the lake, where you find Ashariani sitting outside of the water, talking to a halla. When approached, she will become startled, then bashful, hiding her face. Tears are noticeably glistening on her cheeks. She then draws attention to the halla, petting them again. She explains that the halla’s name is Annwyl, and she was her friend back in the clan. Clan Lavellan had sent Annwyl to Ashariani for her efforts in the Inquisition, as well as some gifts for the Inquisitor, which she gives to you. You can ask her why she’s crying, to which she will respond with, “I don’t know.” You can press further or leave it be, which will end the cutscene.
When pressed further, she will get emotional, exclaiming that she’s found out her brother has died. She explains the incident and sits back down, crying into her hands. You can:
sit down next to her and talk to her (flirt)
ask her if she wants to go back to Skyhold (flirt)
leave her alone without a word (no chance for romance after this)
Whether you sit down with her or ask her to go to Skyhold, the conversation is the same: after telling you a bit about him, she asks you if she can attend her brother’s funeral. A yes answer is locked in, however she will ask you to go with her, and this is what you can say yes or no to. You can:
say yes (flirt)
say no (no chance for romance after this)
ask why she wants you to go with her
If no, she’ll nod her head and say she understands and that she appreciates the time you’ve given her to talk about him. The scene will end there. If yes, she’ll smile, and it will cut to his funeral. If asked why, she’ll tell you she holds you close to her heart and it would mean a lot to her if you were there with her. After the funeral, when you return to Skyhold, Ashariani will express her gratefulness for your support. You can then kiss her (starting the official romance) or accept her thank you and move on, ending the scene and any chance of romance.
If kissed, she will hold her hand over her mouth in shock, her face becoming red. She’ll then surge forward and kiss you again, throwing herself into your arms. You both kiss for a moment before Ashariani whispers, “Thank you,” while looking at the ground. Here you can make a sweet, snarky, or silly comment, to any of which she will smile and kiss you again. With that, she’ll grab your hand and say goodnight, holding onto your hand for as long as she can before your fingers slip out of hers. The cutscene fades to black.
Side Quest(s):
For Him
(after Demands of the Qun - only if Chargers were saved)
Acquire a powerful axe for Iron Bull hidden somewhere in the Hissing Wastes. You will gain approval from both Ashariani and Iron Bull, and later, when talking to Iron Bull, will experience a cutscene where Iron Bull is thanking her for the gift.
//
Bianca
(after Here Lies The Abyss - only if Hawke was sacrificed)
Acquire enough materials to craft a powerful addition for Bianca for Varric. Once crafted, equip Bianca with it. Once equipped, a cutscene will play where Varric is shooting with Bianca, showing off to Ashariani. As you walk away, Varric has a soft quiet moment where he thanks Ashariani and promises her he’ll be okay.
//
It’s A Date Then?
(after A New Beginning)
Acquire a gift for Ashariani and she’ll say she loves you. The gift (a pressed leather journal) can be obtained from the Dalish clan in the Exalted Plains. This will trigger a small cutscene where she expresses excitement over it and confesses that she loves you. You can say you love her too or that you’re not quite there yet, and either way she will be happy.
Cole’s reflection on their thoughts:
“So engulfed and yet, so alone. She fights and fights to stay something they could be proud of.”
“Bubbles, popping to the surface of a still lake. Change, but not too much. Warm, fuzzy feelings in her chest. Happiness is in reach, she hopes.”
“Friend. She helps, not harms. She sings, not screams. She is nice to me. I am nice to her.”
“Lost, fighting, breaking through the surface. He’s gone. But they’re here. They can make it go away. They can make her whole again.”
“She climbs and climbs, knowing there is a possibility of a fall. But she’s fallen before. No fear, she bounds from building to building, tree to tree. Where she’s free. Where there is no green, no screams, no evil. Just free.”
“Warmth. Warmth when they approach, their smile shining in the sunlight. Sunlight, beaming into her heart and warming her insides. Safe.” [about the Inquisitor]
“Warmth. Warmth when she’s nearby, honey sweet on her tongue. She is safe. She is warm. She is home.” [about Eloise]

TRAVEL BANTER WITH COMPANIONS
Cassandra: What is that touching fists thing you two do all the time? It is ridiculous.
Dorian: Never heard of a fist bump, Seeker? What’s wrong with having a bit of fun?
Cassandra: It’s distracting.
Ashariani: Aw, come on Cassandra. You should try it sometime! Really forms the bonds of friendship.
Dorian: (laughs) You are simply adorable.
Varric (if in party): Oh, don’t worry, Glimmer. Cassandra just doesn’t know the definition of fun.
Sera (if in party): That’s nothing compared to our secret handshake, yeah? You should see it, Seeker. It involves our butts!
Cassandra: (Disgusted noise).
//
Iron Bull: You know, you’re surprisingly light.
Ashariani: Really? I didn’t hurt your shoulders?
Iron Bull: (laughs) Kid, you’d have to weigh about 60 pounds more to even make a dent on me.
Inquisitor: You really have to stop letting her ride on your shoulders during battle.
Ashariani: But it’s fun!
Sera (if in party): Can I have a go? No reason why she should have all the fun, yeah?
Vivienne (if in party): Fun does not always mean safe, my dear. I would proceed with caution when tempting fate as such.
Ashariani (to Sera): Of course! (to Vivienne): Yes, ma’am.
//
Solas: Do you miss home, Ashariani?
Ashariani: Sometimes. Do you?
Solas: No. Though the thought of a home to return to is a pleasant one.
Ashariani: You have no home?
Solas: (chuckles) The Inquisition is my home now. Isn’t that more than one could hope for?
Ashariani: Yeah...I guess so. I’m glad you feel at home here.
Solas: I wish the same of you, Letha’lin.
Varric (if in party): Are you guys done with the sappy, cryptic talk yet? This isn’t good material for my stories.
Ashariani: (giggles).
Leaving the Inquisition: It takes a lot to get Ashariani to leave, but if you gain enough approval, she will come to you in tears, and tell you she doesn’t think the Inquisition is the right place for her anymore. She will wish you well and ask you to tell the others she says she’ll keep in touch. You can choose to beg her to stay, in which she will, but only if you don’t net any more disapproval before new approval, or tell her she can leave. She will then say goodbye, muttering bad things, and walk off, the cutscene ending and her leaving the Inquisition forever.
