Let me just say this

Kageyama might be “king of the court” but YN is “Queen of Karasuno” 👸

Honestly these boys absolutely worship you

Literally, they act as if they don’t have three managers

They literally will lay down in a puddle of mud while you step on them

Will do the above 👆 for any of their three managers

But you, you my love are super special to our boys

Why you ask?

Well it’s because you provide them with nutrients to survive 😌

That’s right, your love of baking and the fine art of culinary creations only helps you out with our beloved crows

You’ve learned to cater to all their needs

Filling recipes with top tier ingredients for success

Things like fruits, nuts, and even sneaking some veggies in there

Like zucchini bread or carrot cake

Listen, even if it’s in a desert, it still counts as a fruit or veggie

I don’t want to hear “tHe SuGaR cAnCeLs It OuT”

Because like these boys need the sugar to run and jump all over the place ok 🤚🏻

You bake almost daily as a form of stress release and therapy

Please you need it with the team you manage 🙄

And you always bring in the treats for the boys!

And they ALWAYS eat them up

“These are fantastic Yn what are they called?” Hinata asks

“They are Fudgy Pumpkin Brownie bites! It’s a new recipe!” You exclaim as Kageyama and Noya go in for thirds

“You fit a whole pumpkin in here Yn?!?” Hinata : D

“I think she means that there is pumpkin in the recipe not one per bite,” Ennoshita explains

I never claimed they were smart Yn

Anyways, you are always there to help our precious boys fill their bellies

You are in charge of snacks for games and practice, often finding joy in everything you do

So when the prelims for the road to spring nationals start, you are busy whipping up some goodies

You bake the entire weekend before, preparing for every possible scenario

Protein muffins for in between matches

Chocolate chip cookies for after they win matches

You even prepare some of your famous Strawberry shortcake cookies just incase the boys happen to lose

Not that we think they will, don’t get me wrong but it’s always nice to be prepared

Anyways, the prelims start and Karasuno dominates

Like, did we really thinking they wouldn’t 💅

Anyways, tensions run high as the boys go into their match with Seijoh

You remember the first time they fought against Seijoh and how the loss crushed them

But fueled up on your high-protein muffins, these boys are ready to kick butt!

And kick butt they do!

They beat Seijoh and prepare to meet Shiratorizawa in the finals

After the game, you notice how upset Seijoh is after their loss

You knew this was the third years last tournament and seeing them cry hurt

You thought about if it was your boys

And with that, there was only one thing left to do

So you pulled out a piece of paper and wrote a little note and stuck it in the box of cookies

As your team was preparing to leave, you grabbed your box of Strawberry Shortcake cookies and ran over to Seijoh

Karasuno rn 👉🏻👀

“Excuse me?” You said as the entire Seijoh team turned around and looked at you

“You guys played an excellent game and you deserve these,” you said handing Seijoh your expertly wrapped cookies

Oikawa accepted, saying nothing

Please you left him speechless

Too bad Kunimi’s too sad to even record this moment 😭

You smile and wave as you run back to your team

Meanwhile, back the gym the Seijoh boys are extremely sad

“Hey what did that manager from Karasuno give you Oikawa?” Kindaichi asked as Oikawa reached for the box

He reached for it, opening it as the note slipped out

Iwa picked the note up and began reading it

It read “Thank you for playing your hardest! You deserve these. Xoxo YN, Karasuno’s Manager”

“It’s cookies,” Oikawa said as he began to pass them around and Iwa showed Oiks the note

Oikawa rn 👉🏻😐🥺😭

Please the entire Seijoh team is eating your cookies and crying Yn 😩

The next few days go by

You are in the gym taking notes when a teacher comes to get you

“Excuse me?”

“Yes,” Takeda asks

“Umm there is a team of boys at the front gate here to see Yn,” the teacher says

Karasuno 👉🏻 a team…. OF BOYS 😐😑

Tanaka and Noya 👉🏻 FOR YN?!?? 😡🤬

“Oh my ok!” You say, getting up and walking towards the gates of Karasuno

Tanaka, Noya, Kags and Hinata are ready to go

It takes the entire rest of the team to hold them back 🙄

“WHAT IF THEY KIDNAP YN??” Noya shouts

“They literally showed up at the front of school in broad daylight, like that’s gonna happen,” Suga say, rolling his eyes

“Someone has never watched dateline before,” Tanaka adds

Of course, you ignore them and head for the gates

As you approach, you see the white track suits

You 👉🏻😐😳

“Umm hi,” you say as the boys of Seijoh all look at you

“Team!” Oikawa shouts and they all scream

“THANK YOU FOR THE COOKIES YN!” while bowing

You rn 👉🏻😐😳🥹

“You are so welcome! Thank you for coming!” You say smiling and going to hug them

You hug Iwa first and boy is he stiff 😅

It’s safe to say the entire Seijoh team is now in love with you Yn 🥰

“Omg is Oikawa crying?” Kageyama says, shoving Hinata out of the way as they watch around the corner.

“Hey watch it butthole!” Hinata shouts as he pushed Kageyama out of the way.

“I’d cry too if YN hugged me,” Noya added as Tanaka nodded.

“You guys are about to have something to cry about if you don’t get your butts back to the gym RIGHT NOW!” Daichi shouted, looming over them as the boys all turned and ran back to the gym.

POV SEIJOH X CHUBBY FEM! MANAGER! READER cuz it sounds super cute

contents: basically first day as manager, some swearing masterlist

they were so excited to hear that they were getting another manager

cuz Lord knows that poor Kiyosce needed some help

especially with Mad dog and Oikawa on one team (even tho Iwa helped some)

you met them for the first time at one of their practices a couple days from a training camp they were going to

you ran a bit late (oops) and when you entered the gym everyone was already warming up and serving

you also happened to walk in right when Oikawa did his oh so famous jump serve

and it was as powerful as Kiyosce described it

God i would not want to receive that

you walked up to the bench and placed your backpack down which contained your homework for the day

you already caught Kindaichi's eye who was whispering something to Watari

"Hey! Come to the bench guys!" Kiyosce yelled and the boys started to gather the balls into the cart

you had already received your manager shirt and you were standing beside Kiyosce fiddling with the zipper

after the team huddled around, he spoke up

"As you can see, we have a new addition to the Seijoh Volleyball club." he motioned toward you "This is y/n l/n, and she'll be managing you children with me."

"Children? You both are our age, maybe younger." said Matsukawa

"Still, you act like 5 year olds."

"No, that's all Shittykawa." Iwaizumi gave Oikawa a side glance

"Iwa-chan, that's no way to introduce me!" he said, sipping his water

"Anyway, be nice to her." Kiyosce rolled his eyes. "Go keep serving for a few more minutes."

"Okay!"

Half of the team scattered and Matsukawa approached you first.

"Hi, I'm Matsukawa. I'm one of the winged spikers."

"Oh, hi. I used to play volleyball, and that was one of my favorite positions!" You said enthusiastically

"Really? Well, let's see what you got." He grabbed a ball and you nervously walked to the spiking position

it had been a minute since you last properly spiked a ball, on a court, over a net

"I'm just gonna toss it to you because I can't really set."

you nodded and got ready

you didn't even realize most of them stopped serving to watch what you were gonna do

he tossed the ball, and as soon as it left his fingertips, you began your footwork

soon enough, you felt yourself leave the ground and hitting a pretty good spike down the center of the court

when you landed, everyone just kinda looked at you

you stood there thinking, they probably thought that was nothing compared to Iwaizumi or Matsukawa... or Mad dog

then you heard clapping

you looked to see Oikawa smiling and clapping and others soon joined

"That was really good!"

"How'd you do that?"

"Have you played before?"

you started to blush and thanked everyone for being so nice

you made your way back to the bench where Kiyosce prepared a clipboard for you

practice went on as normal and everyone gathered at the end and then were dismissed

Iwaizumi and Oikawa came up to you outside the gym

"Yoohoo~ Y/n!" Oikawa called and you turned around to look at him

"That was pretty impressive, your skills aren't bad." He was half smirking and Iwa rolled his eyes behind him

"Stop trying to flatter and ask her the damn question."

"Ugh! Iwa-chan, I was trying to warm up to the question."

"What'd you need?"

you were ready for him to ask you for your friend's number or to set him up with your friend

that's usually what happened when cute guys came up to you

"Can I have-"

here it comes

"your number?"

wut... your number?

"Oh, uh yeah sure." He handed you his phone with a new contact screen already open

your hands were shaking as you typed in the digits and a blush rose to your cheeks

it's not like you haven't seen his fangirls before

as annoying as they may be, some of them were really pretty

and you felt like you couldn't compete with them, so you didn't even approach Oikawa

you finished with his phone and handed it back to him

"Thanks y/n~" he smiled at you "See you-"

"God, you're making me want to gag, you can flirt later. I'm starving and you're buying me dinner so come on. Bye y/n." He smiled and waved

"Bye Iwaizumi and Oikawa." You waved and walked to your car

"Don't worry Iwa, I'll send you her number. I know you're too scared to-"

haikyuu esl accent headcanons ig miyagi prefectural edition

Karasuno

- Kageyama and Hinata are both idiots and barely pass english to begin with but I like to imagine Karasuno has an english teacher that studied/came from somewhere in Canada, so they (and all of Karasuno) end up with a classic mix of American/British vocabulary

- Daichi s u c k s at english and can barely pass the class but his accent is PERFECT and when he manages to put together an actual sentence you wouldnt believe he was esl

- by contrast Suga BREEZED through english classes, absolutely nailing the written, aural and reading portions but got <10% on his spoken exam because he's absolutely incomprehensible and cannot get his accent down

- Tsukishima and Yamaguchi get the highest grades in english out of all of Karasuno, but both of them inexplicably picked up a british accent (southern more, london area) and they refuse to admit that it's because of the sheer volume of Great British Bake-Off they've watched/had on in the background while doing homework.

- Noya and Tanaka both failed english their first year but realized if they convinced Suga and Daichi, separately, to tutor them, they could get a passing grade

- somehow Suga and Daichi have never considered helping each other

- Asahi is not the best at english but he is their english teacher's favourite

Shiratorizawa

- Ushijima obviously speaks with an american accent when speaking english bc he practices most often with his father (west coast american accent, then)

-as a result the whole of Shiratorizawa kinda does the same because of subconsciously trying to mimic Ushiwaka

- with the exception of Tendou (who ends up bastardizing his english with a french accent??? he ends up damn near a polyglot but is incomprehensible in every language)

- and semi, who ends up with a more british accent (from the north, though) due to the british guitar teacher he takes lessons from. the rest of shiratorizawa absolutely tear him apart for this but he doesnt even realize he's doing it and has picked up british slang (trolley, jumper, lift) when speaking english

- Stz's english program is Very Good but their professors are all very old and mean and as a result most of the team developes a deep hatred of studying english/going to language classes in general

Aoba Johsai

- I like to imagine Aoba Johsai has a really fantasic english teacher/program, but they partnered with an abroad exchange to do so and have a disproportionate about of New Zealanders and Aussies teaching

- So the third years are all pretty fantastic with their english but the other schools hear them speak and are like "that CANNOT be right" because they all have heavy kiwi accents that the others have never heard

- inexplicably Kyotani has a much more distinct North American accent (probably somewhere eastern, great lakes area) and he Will Not explain himself until he begrudingly admits that he's actually started learning english when he was really young from an American teacher and is VERY GOOD but has been intentionally throwing tests so that nobody would ask him to tutor them

- first/second years ask him to tutor them immediately upon learning this and he refuses

- Oikawa is irritatingly good at languages, and has to force Iwaizumi to study. Iwa is usually pretty good with keeping on top of school work but he just HATES conjugations and tenses and has no memory for it.

- once Oikawa realizes the other schools are making fun of their english accents/professors, he works out the dialects of thr other english countries and just switches between then depending on who he's speaking to. the rest of seijoh hates this because when he's not using the kiwi accent they cannot understand him.

if you write for haikyuu, could you please do some headcanons about being inarizaki and/or seijoh's manager (2nd year) and having a singing, songwriting hobby on the side snd how the boys would be when it comes to their manager who really wants to be a singer! and if you could use taylor swift songs like cardigan or the lakes that would be so nice :)) thank you again!!

Bro I had to look up those songs in the first place cuz I don't really listen to Taylor swift but damn these two songs gave me the chills. Are you okay btw?

Anyways, sorry for posting it now, had some stuff to do sweetie, but thanks for the task! I learned a lot about these two teams!!

Summary: In which the Inarizaki and Seijoh boyzz have a female manager in her 2nd year who loves to sing.

Seijoh:

To say that the boys were amazed or surprised by your voice was an understatement.

Of course, the captain, Oikawa, always complimented you by your singing and even tried to sing with you a few times but got hit in the head multiple times by Iwaizumi with a volleyball and you felt bad for him

but Oikawa was shit at singing soooooo...

Also, your voice, whether you sung cardigan by Taylor Swift or any other song, it calmed the team down and motivated them to keep going with volleyball or...well, whatever they were going to do

Matsukawa, Hanamaki and Yahaba are always trying to get your attention, wanting you to sing random songs with them to which you happily accept

I mean, yeah, you get shy, but you are actually an extroverted person

you like to make rhymes while explaining something to the boys and Kindaichi -our precious union head- sometimes even beatboxes (idk he seems like to type to be able to do beatboxing i mean cmon look at his timeskip)

it turns into a rapping session

the players then dance and sing along, already having your words in their minds

Poor Akira has to listen to all those "Yeah!"s and "Uh huh!!!"s everytime he visits and he almost wants to skip again but then you sing some praise about him making a good and strategic hit

The lazy boy suddenly wants you to sing for him and him only

Kyōtani Kentarō is glaring at you guys, secretely wanting to sing along too but he thinks his voice may be too loud or he might come off as more aggressive until you one day scream out from the top of your longs to some heavy metal song, the other players nodding their heads violently at your cries

mad dog chimes in and bam, here you have a rockband already

Meanwhile, Yuda is vibing next to you as you sing one of Taylor Swift's songs yet again and even points it out, slightly teasing you

"What can I say? I just really like her voice and her songs help me when I'm feeling down..."

That freckled babyboy is trying to lift your spirits like he tried with his team when they all lost against Karasuno

you feel better

"Thanks Kaneo :)"

Babyboy is happy

Heisuke and Motomu are always clapping after your singing ends, thanking you for blessing their ears

Overall the whole team is so happy that they have a manager, who A) is a WOMAN, B) is NICE and C) even SINGS for them

In all of their matches, even against Karasuno, they showed you off, all chanting:

"LOOK, THIS IS OUR HOT MANAGER, AND SHE CAN SING! SUCKS FOR YOU AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!"

You are growing annoyed whenever they do this and Iwaizumi has to scream from the top of his lungs to make the simps stop

My man is being respectful here

but he'd like to rub it in the other people's face as well

All in all, the boys are happy that you chose to be their manager

they are happy that you make songs for them to remember things more easily

they all want you to write your own songs and become a star and stuff like that cuz they think your voice is beautiful :D

And you want to be one as well and while you're working on a song then or resinging some songs which are mostly form your favourite singer, you're surprised to see already thousands of people liking your posts

this encourages you to keep doing what you love to do and the boys also cheer you on and make you go viral- mostly Oikawa- by posting your songs on their accounts as well

What can I say? You're a hot, he's hot, he also likes scandal's and the thought of his fans thinking you'd be his girlfriend-

Matsukawa and Oikawa tease you for asking you to give them autographs while fake crying and telling you to not forget about them

the others are just happy that you are being recignized for your pretty voice- as you should!

Inarizaki:

When you first started singing to yourself, the boys were bamboozled

where does this voice come from?

why is it so soothing?

Wait...

Is that...our manager???

you were mostly singing to yourself after practise ended, already pushing everybody out so that you could sing to yourself

you actually didn't wanna be so mean but you just loved the acoustic of the hall

The first one to notice is Kita, that obervant pretty boy

He just rounds the corner towards the sports hall one day and sees you singing a song he recognized but couldn't quite decipher

should he just come in? If not, he'd be wasting warm-up training...

so he knocks politely before asking to come in

he honestly had no idea what to do actually so he knocked

another respectful man

Kita gets a lil sad when you stop singing

you bashfully give him permission to come in and he's all happy again but of course he doesn't really show it

anyways

The twins come plus suna

greeting you with blushy faces as usual only to be scolded by Kita for coming five mins late

then the rest comes and they get an earful too

the training goes on like usual

Everybody's doing their best

(to impress you)

Aran (Alan??) is asking you for advice on how he can improve himself as an ace and you recommend him a few exercises

you also calm him down when he gets too fired up and accidently hits atsumu (intentionally)

Happy Alan noises

Riseki is constantly overthinking things and so you make him a rhyme he can remember thinking of and he is feeling better

The guys find it funny and sweet of you (Riseki thanks you with a bashful smile while averting his eyes and blushing a little) and Atsumu is the first one to ask you for a little comfort rhyme for getting hit by Aran with the volleyball

Alan still hasn't apologized

Anyways

Michinari is training as well but also likes to observe his teammates like Kita and has cheered when Aran hit Atsumu with a volleyball, you gave the future PE teacher a mean glare

Now you are telling him to throw the ball in the air and hit the ground with it after as a form of punishment

Cat eyes was not really happy with that but quickly got back to his cheery self

Kosaku is doing the same, but with much more vigor because of his competitive nature and you chant his name like a cheerleader

"Go Yuto go, go go go!", you exclaim while clapping your hands

mans getting aggressive over here, heart pounding and face heating up

Atsumu and Ginjima want you to chant their name as well, so Atsumu uses the second year's naiveness to his advantage, with Kita already sensing their bullshit

"no you won't", the observer says

Atsumu feigns being shocked and not knowing what the white haired guys says

Omimi observes the boys as well and then asks you for advice on how to better himself, to which you happily help him

when everyone is occupied with training, you siftly sing 'the lakes' by Taylor swift again, not noticing how after a while, one after the other stops training to hear your voice and well

they now know why you always usher them out

the hall echoes your voice wonderfully

When you're done, the whole team claps and cheers

Atsumu is asking you to sing a song for him

so are the others

Kita is looking at you with fondness because he finally got to hear your beautiful voice up close

Osamu has fallen in love with your voice, looking at you with big doe eyes and a slowly spreading blush and mouth slightly open as he still claps dryly in a daze

Aran and the others compliment your singing with great happiness to which you accept embarrassed

how could you forget that you were in a hall full of boys Y/n??

The second years want you to post your singing on social media

you decline, feeling down

"Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!?!??!"

"...i tried, guys..."

"Let us do the social media part, you just sing, okay?", Atsumu says, and you hesitantly agree to his antics

when your singing got recorded where you sang 'the lakes', and it ended, the twins uploaded it right away

you go viral over night

Atsumu must've done something with the title because there didn't stand 'girl sings 'the lakes' by Taylor Swift', but "OUR HOT MANAGER SINGS ONE OF TAYLOR SWIFTS SONGS AND YOU ARE MISSING OUT FOR LIFE IF YOU DON'T CLICK ON IT!!!"

you are freaking out

cuz like

why are you hot??? is Atsumu discreetly flirting with you?

Atsumu gets an earful of you

Kita is scolding him as well but he added your video to his playlist

so had the rest of the team

but nobody will openly confess that to you

you are their hot manager after all

and all in all

you are being recognized everywhere

you love the attention, but the boyz are jealous

anyways, you're happy that your video got viral and you later on apologize for being angry at the blonde twin to which he tries to ask you out on a date as an offering to make things up

but not on the teams watch

like cmon Atsumu did you really think we'd let you ask Y/n out on a date?

The team is overall very happy that you are singing for them and even accepting some of their songs to sing for them

Sejoh headcanons? Loved your inarizaki ones

Sorry for taking so long to reply anon but life took quite the turn for me. But I’m here again and hopefully can start writing again really soon. But here we go Seijoh headcanons.

🌿 First thing first you were a random regular (used to show you have no relationship to volleyball) student who picked a random club just to get it out of the way. Thankfully your knight in shining practice clothes showed up in the hallway and recruited you as the manager. Let’s take a look at your not so successful road to nationals with the Aoba Josei volleyball club.

🌿 So big shocker here but you have 2 navigation buddies. The first is the guy who recruited you, the guy who sits behind you, Hanamaki which by default makes your second navigation buddy Matsukawa. But don’t be fooled they’re not ensuring that you don’t get lost as you’ve studied the map well before arriving at your destination, you’re there to guide Makki who has no sense of direction. Seeing as he’s one of the starters it’s important that you guys know where he is at all times. Mattsun tags along for fun and to watch Makki forget where he just came from. But it’s all good you get paid in Hanamaki hugs which are some of the most comforting hugs you’ve felt in a long time.

🌿 Moving onto Mattsun just because he was already mentioned, he’s the one that helps you out with some of your manager duties. He feels bad enough that Makki getting lost on his way to deliver something to your teacher forced you to join the club so it’s the least he could do. Seeing as he’s also a regular player he mostly helps out before and after practice. He’ll help carry the water cooler when the bottles are full and help you carry the laundry at the end of practice matches. Bonus points goes to him being able to reach the equipment Oikawa puts on the top shelf to mess with him.

🌿 Iwaizumi is strict. But he has a little soft side for you. He’s known you since you were both first years (when you first joined the club) and you’ve both learned to coexist. Not to say that you don’t get along with Iwa but he’s usually too busy keeping Oikawa in line to constantly interact with you. When you two do get a chance to chat lots of laughs and jokes are shared. You two have your own little hand signal you use to remind each other of an inside joke every now and again.

🌿 Next is Yahaba. He is literally the bane of your existence. And not in a good way either. He’s more like your little brother you can’t let out of your sight for too long or he’ll get himself into trouble. He’s the one who will willing trash talk another team knowing you’ll swoop in to save him from an ass kicking. You once looked away from him for too long and the cheerleaders from the opposing team met a different Yahaba Seijoh keeps locked in the basement for legal reasons. Safe to say you now have a leash for him whenever you have away games and practice matches. Even though his tendency to get himself into trouble can be annoying when he gets serious there’s nobody else you want by your side helping to manage the team.

🌿 And now for the guy who literally scared me when they first introduced him. I almost thought Makki was a goner 😭. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you Angry Puppy *rechecks introduction card* oh excuse me there’s been a mistake. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you Mad Dog. Literally this guy is baby and for the wrong reasons. Much like Yahaba you can’t look away from him for too long or you’ll have a fight on your hands. He willingly helps Yahaba trash talk the opposing team and pretends he did nothing when you come by. As Iwa is the only person he listens to the minute you say “Hajime-kun” you have a completely different Mad Dog in front of you. He’s come to think of you as his younger sister and is willing to tear a person limb from limb for you. Once got benched for serving directly to the face of the opposing team’s captain because he catcalled you while you were getting water for the team.

🌿 Next is Watari. Literally this guy is baby. When you first saw him setting instead of Oikawa it got you curious to know about his setter background. While telling you about his previous days as setter he managed to teach you more things about volleyball that you didn’t learn during your first year. All in all he is a very sweet kid who raids your snack station after games. But only for the fruits and nuts. And occasionally the one pack of cookies you have for yourself every now and again.

🌿 Alright now we talk about the guy everyone else thinks is baby, Kindaichi. This is a special case. At first glance you thought he looked familiar and you were absolutely right. Turns out you both went to the same elementary school but were in different grades. You remember him as the little boy who would cry when it was time to go in from lunch. He was quite the crybaby back then and not much has changed but he pouts instead of crying now. Lucky for you he doesn’t remember you so the methods the teachers used to calm him down are the same ones you use much to his nostalgic delight. He’s pretty self efficient but don’t turn him away when he needs a confidence boost. Just give him one of your famous head pats and remind him he’s a good volleyball player much like his senpais.

🌿 With Kunimi you have to approach him cautiously. He’ll either cooperate or shut down completely and you’re forced to drag all 66.1kg/145.7lbs of him everywhere. He’s a sweet kid don’t get me wrong but he’s also very perceptive and has noticed that you treat your kohais like literal children. This isn’t a bad thing for him but for you it means you have to be a little stricter on him. Don’t fall for his puppy eyes and wobbly lip or you’ll end up with his head in your lap while you go over player stats during breaks.

🌿 And finally captain hit it till it breaks Oikawa. Tooru Oikawa’s favorite food is milk bread and he always finds a way to steal yours at lunch. He’s a pain in the booty but he’s your pain in your booty. One of the nicest persons to you on the team but you suspect it’s because he’s the captain. You can’t deny the hard work he’s put into the sport but there are times you wished he didn’t work so hard. You saw how hard he took it when Shiratorizawa beat Seijoh and you would hate to see him in that state again. I could go on about the special friendship you and Oikawa have however that’s too much to write just know that where you go he goes like a lost puppy.

fumi headcanons below and also i'm dumping my wakunan thoughts too

my wakunan lore crumbs :yippeeee:

since they are canonically considered one of the top 4 schools in the region until karasuno beat them, they're definitely a powerhouse school. so generally they know seijoh & stz & niiyama (tech) & johzenji & dateko & vice versa way better than how karasuno knows them (by the start of the anime), wakunan probably holds practice matches regularly w them all

on that note i don't think they've beaten shiratorizawa at all; they've won a couple matches against seijoh, but cannot win against them consistently; they struggled with johzenji but after okudake left and terushima became captain they have become much better; against dateko most matches have to end in a draw because dateko's defense and wakunan's receives are that good. uhh. that's all ive got.

considering they're sorta the nekoma of miyagi i think they'd like. Know? Nekoma? have practice matches against each other? i'd reckon that if they didn't have matches beforehand, they do now bc of takeru and kuroo; at the very least, they both seem like the type to Want to face the other team at least once. (pulls out my corkboard) this is how wakunan knows the tokyo teams--

i do not think wakunan is A Rich School like shiratorizawa is, either; it's still in a quiet part of miyagi (haven't decided on a town yet), and fumi herself lives in a small town.

fumi's a rlly good manager bc she has rlly good memory & she's great at keeping up with everything on the court, taking notes on both sides/what plays they do/etc, to the point that in practice matches opposing teams will even ask her about their stats throughout the match. he's very good at what he does!! wakunan's best manager in probably 209382 years

fumi goes to the university of tokyo as a literature/journalism dual major, with a minor in a stem field. most likely something science based! he decided early on that he’d continue expanding her managerial skills, which is why he chose a humanities major instead of stem

has been using perfume ever since she started high school. she’s not risking it around sweaty high school boys who sweat through their deodorant faster than they can run. usually she smells like vanilla; she prefers the sweeter scents!

originally fumi wanted to take ballet lessons, but due to his chronic ankle instability, his father advised his to not to, just in case... and he didn't, cuz he didn't wanna worry him.

if she didn't get hamsters, fumi's dad was seriously considering getting her a munchkin cat!! just a pet in general; he works a lot and she's home alone, so he wants her to have Some form of company that isn't shunki.

sits down. so fumi's mom and dad are divorced; her mom has? dipped from her life; there is zero contact between the two of them. though they are still in contact with her mom's side of the family, fumi's dad is mainly worried about securing funds for fumi's college career and keeps contact for that reason.

Yahaba Shigeru!!! He’s the second string setter on the team Aoba Johsai(or Seijoh), which is. Kinda Karasuno (the main team)’s rival? Not their main rivals but. Anyways he’s a second year and he plays in Karasuno’s first match against Aoba Johsai because their primary setter is injured but he’s literally. Not shown at all lol. Taking care of your precious Tooru

Throughout the entirety of practice, you kept a watchful eye on Oikawa. Of course, you looked at him more than usual since you had the hugest crush on him (which makki and mattsun teased you about mercilessly)

But something was different, today. His knee, as you noticed was weaker than usual and he kept favouring the other side so as to not place too much strain on it.

“Oikawa, I think you need to take a time-out” you said gently, as soon as your were sure. “but y/n-chan...”

you simply flashed him a concerned look. A look that plainly said "hey you're not fooling anybody, mister"

Sighing, Oikawa walked over to you and sat on the bench, whilst motioning for the rest to continue their game. The bench was secluded from the training area as a row of lockers separated them (sorta like a makeshift locker room)

“Tooru, love? what were you thinking?” you whispered softly as you knelt down and gently elevated his knee, feeling him wincing in the process.

After he was alright, you began massaging the muscle as you looked up to face him. “don't get hurt, Tooru. I worry when you do.”

Oikawa was having such a hard time masking his feelings then. Not when the two of you were having a moment as intimate as this one. Not when you looked up at him with such concern and adoration.

Oikawa: you really do make it so hard

Y/n: what?

Oikawa: oh nothing. You just make it so hard to resist you. I could kiss you right now if you'd let me.

After relieving some of his pain, you helped him up. “We're going home. I'm walking you back, no arguements, okay Tooru?”

And honestly, how could Oikawa ever argue with you? He nodded as the two of you bid the rest goodbye.

Makki: ten bucks they get together before tomorrow

Mattsun: twenty bucks they get together in the next two hours

Iwa: shut the hell up oh my god let's stop talking about shittykawa.

On the way back, Oikawa gently wrapped his arm around your waist, causing you to blush deeply and smile. “Y/n-chan you smell really good”

“Oh yeah? You're a dork, Tooru” you said though laughs. “no I'm serious. You smell like cupcakes. I could honestly just eat you up right now” which earned him a prompt shove.

His house neared and he dug in his pocket for the keys, unlocking it and gesturing for you to come inside. “I'm sorry it's so messy” he said apologetically and rubbed his neck.

“No that's alright, I'll just make sure you're okay and then I'll leave” you assured him, as you walked into his kitchen to prepare a hot water bottle for him.

After it was ready, you walked up the stairs to find Tooru in bed, scrolling through his phone. “Ah y/n, there you are. Thank you” his face broke into a smile at the sight of you (which really made your heart flutter).

“I'll be leaving now, my love. See you at practice, yeah?” you gently brushed his hair out of his face and turned to leave, but something stopped you.

Oikawa had reached up and pulled your hand, burning passion in his eyes. “I know you brought me a hot water bottle, but you're really warm. Do you want to be my hot water bottle for a little while?”

You blushed as you allowed him to pull you in next to him, his arms immediately wrapping themselves around your waist and burying is face in the crook of your neck.

“I like you, y/n” he mumbled softly. “I like you so much it hurts.”

He could hardly believe his ears, and just as he was about to say something, you pulled him closer to you and glared “but if you ever overwork yourself or push yourself to the limits I am going to be very upset. You've gotta care about you as much as I care about you, mister”

Oikawa gave you a sheepish grin as he nuzzled into your neck and closed his eyes, seemingly pretending to fall asleep. The action was so cute, it made you fall in love with him all over again.

whatever you do, they are there to say you did a good job and treat you like the rightful princess of the blue castle

you first joined Seijoh boy's VBC as the manager in your first year after being nicely approached by a third year, saying they really require a manager because the club was getting so big and they needed someone to actually assist their coaches in wrangling the more energetic bunch

the entire club just loves how well you pay attention to each and every member, regular or not. you even went and pick up basic medical skills for their sake

but it's because you know how it feels when no one pays attention to you so you did your best for your new friends

in turn, they took care of you to the best of their abilities

hungry? the captain orders his guys to buy food for you

cold? best believe you get a handful of jackets on top of your own

Iwaizumi, Oikawa, Matsukawa, Hanamaki and yourself became inseparable. they are your FOC bodyguards knights

similar to Karasuno, the team doesn't necessary worry about guys hitting on you when they went for matches because the words "AOBA JOHSAI" protect you very well.

firstly is Oikawa. he's always lingering around you. the usual flirtatious nature never works on you since you guys are classmates. he figures you just like him as is and he slowly fell in love with you because you two shared a genuine bond

doesn't realised he is in love with you for the longest time though because all these while, he dated other girls just because they were ♡( ◡‿◡ ) pretty. and they confessed first so he just accepts.

"because i am ✨nice✨" he claims

you are the one that cheers him up after every break up and he is quick to get back on his feet with just a few words and a comforting hug

when he finally realised it, he never made the first move BECAUSE HE'S NEVER HAD TO

as for Iwaizumi, the ace is always flustered by you, having developed a crush on you since the first year but similar to Oikawa, he never confesses to you because he just wants to maintain this comfortable space between you two right now

this year's first years are chill and listen to you very well because they were all ✨STARSTRUCK✨ with your dazzling smile

at the beginning, Kindaichi was so shy with you around at the start because he never had to worry about impressing a female when playing

"yes! no!" is the usual respond to you so good luck deciphering that

he is just so kind and offers to help with anything! need help folding towels? need help filling up dozens of water bottles? need help carrying the gym bags? he will do it without any complains!

you warn him not to learn bad things from Yahaba. need to look out for your little prince y'know

you accidentally made him cried once because you said "you are a kind child" and boi broke down and told you about his middle school days because he was guilty about what happened between him and Kageyama

HE IS A SENSITIVE SOUL OKAY

Kunimi became your favourite junior because he just look like a docile cat. he also likes you the best out of the entire club and will train just a tad harder if you say so

in return, he wants you to give him a loooooooong head pat

he also smiles a lot around you. just sitting next to you is enough for this boi

he will bring you your favourite snacks or beverage along with Kindaichi because he knows you use a lot of energy for their sake

if he really exerts himself, you just let him rest on your lap whilst you tally up your notes

here comes Oikawa whining about how you show favouritism to Kunimi and wants to fight for your lap

Iwaizumi will spike Oikawa in the head and drag him away by his collar because Kunimi legit fell asleep (boi worked extra hard that day for you)

now the second year that you are the closest to is Watari because he is the most normal of the bunch

you need normalcy in life to function in this club okay

Yahaba? that shallow guy? yeah he is fun to talk to but sometimes you just have to laugh him off when he tries too hard to get your attention

but that doesn't mean he isn't serious about having feelings for you. still, he wouldn't fight over a girl with his seniors

Yahaba is the most attentive to you out of the entire second year cohort, and will chase away any unwanted guys in school if you aren't with any of his upperclassmen

just give him that head pat he is so envious of, he will be eternally grateful

now the problem laid with Kyotani

when he first joined, you could already tell he was going to be the toughest to work with

you did your best to get him to work better with the team but no matter how much hard work you put in, nothing seemed to work

and he just suddenly stopped showing up

you felt so unmotivated the next day. the dark energy around you brought down the team's mood too and they got worried

the team thought you were so shattered to the point of quitting when you didn't show up the next day, and caused Oikawa to commence pandemonium and wide spread panic before you showed up an hour later with a smile

you promised Kyotani to not exposed that he was doing self training elsewhere, so that secret was safe all the way until he came back

he was a little grateful for that, but it didn't mean he was happy to see you were still around when he finally came back

"what's this? the third years' still around? i figured they'd be gone by now after losing in the interhigh prelims."

*cue the third years ready to fight*

"and this weak-will manager is still around? you can't even get them to win, shouldn't you go study for your damn college or something?"

*cue the first and second year holding the third years back"

you never took it to heart, fully expected words of hostility when Kyotani returns so it spooked him when you smiled at him, just like how he was wary of Oikawa

but do you know how Kyotani became obedient?

well it all began like this...

spring high was approaching in just a few weeks time so the team was putting in extra effort in their spikes and block for today's training

as usual, you were off to the side with your notebook, jotting down what else needs to be improved but because you were so lost in your own world, the stray canon spike that Kyotani executed slammed into your head

ever felt a cannonball fired into your face? ask Luffy to fire one in your face from Merry yeah, now you know

the bloody screams from the gym, i tell ya, B E D L A M

Oikawa was screaming at the top of his lungs about how Kyotani needed to be returned to the pound like??? hello??

Iwaizumi was already yelling and threatening Kyotani's regular position for hurting you with such an uncontrolled spike

Mattsun and Maki ran up to you like sonic, turning pale at the sight of crimson blood pouring out both side of your nostrils and seeping into your shirt

looked like you got stabbed, if they had to be honest about how messed up you looked

the coaches quelled the fuss and scolded every one for acting like it was the end of the world - they didn't want you to get stressed out by looking at this unneeded chaos

you were mildly shocked, of course, since in your entire career managing the volleyball team, not even one ball flew your direction. the team always made sure to stop when you were close by

you assured the team that you were fine because it wasn't the first time you had nose bleed, not realising you had actually hit your head against the wall

Matsukawa immediately carried you to the infirmary

safe to say you weren't allow back into the gym and was sent back home by the other third years

ever since that incident, Kyotani made sure he was a set amount of distance away from you and whenever he practice his spikes, he had to consciously look around

might grumble a thanks to you when you hand him his bottle and a clean towel

will never admit it but you are actually very pretty up close. the fact that you are so forgiving about him hurting you causes fluttering in his stomach

will growl at any guys that walk too close to you, including Oikawa

when the third years finally step down, the amount of gifts you received from everyone was immeseaurable

like you carried a mountain back home

a giant handwritten card with everyone's heartfelt messages and thanks to you, and praying that you will get into the next school of your choice

overall, you are a manager that manages to win over anyone and everyone with enough time because a charming princess will always have her way (✿◠ᴗ◠)

when the coach first introduces you to the team, these four dorks just go !!! must protect at all costs !!! of course, oikawa gives you a wink and one of his award-winning grins, but it’s not as flirty as it usually is. mostly because iwaizumi immediately throws him a pointed look that screams ‘don’t you even dare’

mattsun eventually finds out that you live a few streets over his own and insists that he walks with you to and from school. make his pockets hurt because he’s always asking if you want anything from the convenience store on the way- it’s always his treat for “being a good manager and taking care of the team”. sometimes, when practice runs a little bit later than usual, he’ll offer to carry you on his back.

makki is always the first to greet you when you enter the gym. he’ll wave at you with a small smile before practically yelling out your name, alerting the team of your presence. he runs over to you before anyone else could and slings an arm around your shoulder, “yn- we’ve been waiting for you for ageeeees- you know we can’t start practice without you.”

oikawa somehow always finds you whenever you’re trying to have some time alone for yourself. whether it’s when you’re reviewing in the library or trying to relax on the bleachers, he’ll just stroll in and starts talking all about his day. absolutely unprompted. you have never asked him to do this, but it’s the only way you stay updated on the gossip around school. oikawa knows everything. he’ll hand you a carton of juice from the vending machine and starts running his mouth, “yn-chan, you would not believe what happened in math class today-”

iwaizumi acts the most like an older brother in the way he’s always teasing you. this man always has a snarky reply ready to go as soon as you finish talking, but you can tell that it’s all lighthearted. you always have a playful back and forth with him and the entire team just loves listening to the two of you bickering. (“ooooh iwa-chan just got roasted! - oikawa tooru, at multiple points durning the day)

it’s no secret that the four of them just adore you. whenever the team has an away game, the third years always form a protective perimeter around you. they know you can take care of yourself but they will absolutely fight anyone who even thinks about looking at you the wrong way. they will drag you by the wrist if they see you talking to anyone outside the team ;(

when they found out that kunimi has a bit of a crush on you, bet that they gave him the lengthiest lecture on how he should be treating you right and that they will not hesitate to hurt him if he hurts you.

the day of their graduation, they give you a little handmade card as a goodbye :

some of oikawas fangirls harassing you? they wouldn’t dare bother you after seeing iwaizumi, mattsukawa, and hanamaki giving them glares that sent them sprinting away

✄・・・ Crisp Leaves [Aoba Johsai Manager Series]

➜ Pairing: Aoba Johsai x Manager! Reader

➜ Notes: Manager in this story will be portrayed as a girl. She will be tall, around 170.5 cm. This will happen during preliminaries. The timeline’s around Inter-High Preliminaries, so Kyotani’s not here yet.

They made sure to build layers of protection for the incoming flirts advancing towards their manager.

There’s an unwritten rule between the members every time they’re stepping into the new territory of public–protect their manager at all costs. Maybe that applies to every team which has a manager in it, including Aoba Johsai.

Either Inter-High, Spring Tournament Preliminaries, or even just a practice match all of them had a silent oath to ‘not-let-anyone-touch-their-precious-manager’.

You don’t particularly feel uncomfortable about their act similar to tall barriers, in fact it’s the exact opposite–you feel safe even though you’re the only girl in the club. However, if they started to glare at anyone in the vicinity without anything to be glared about it’s beyond infuriating and downright rude.

For two years, maybe more, you’ve been to Sendai City Gymnasium. Preliminaries for nationals in Miyagi is always being held there.

The moment people recognize your signature aqua and white jersey combination, whispers were there immediately–following your team as they passed by.

“Look there, it’s Seijoh.”

“Uwah, they screamed powerhouse already. The members are really tall.”

“But more importantly, is that their manager!?”

“That tall beauty over there!? Man, Seijoh’s really lucky.”

Cue for Yahaba, Kindaichi, and Kunimi instantly snapped their head and put up the most menacing glare they could–making the commentors stiffened from the sudden and unexpected attention.

“Stop it.” But, you’re there to lightly smack their head with your notes–scolding them from being rude to strangers and apologized on their behalf.

“I’m sorry if they scared you,” you bowed apologetically.

“N-no, it’s alright.” They stuttered. When you’re out of ears reach along with Aoba Johsai, that’s when they could finally speak–describing their encounter with you even though in just a few seconds. “It’s like… being blessed by the gods…”

They’re whipped, your honor.

At least one of them would go along with you when you announced you would fill the water bottles during the team’s warm up before their match starts–for both helping you carry the weight along acting as a bodyguard. Usually, Yahaba was the one who accompanied you or even Watari.

With just an intense stare that screamed ‘get away’, they successfully hinder lining boys trying to sneak a chance to talk to you (sometimes you even forgot that Watari could be intimidating if he wanted to).

They would be fools if they thought they could get a step closer.

But still, there’s somehow at least a moment when the team unconsciously let their guard down and resulting some random guy blocking your path–being persistent of having your number in their contact list.

“Hey, you’re really cute. Can I have your number?”

“I’m sorry, but I’m uncomfortable giving my phone number to strangers. So, please excuse me.” You declined politely.

“Then, let’s get to know each other more-“

“Do you have business with our lady?”

This time it’s the third years–knowing they have more impact than the second or first years in getting rid of pests who insisted on hitting on you, they took it as their duty to stood towering behind your figure.

“She did say ‘excuse me’, didn’t she?” Oikawa remarked, smiling–although the smile was nowhere near kind and considerate. “Did you know that it’s rude to keep pushing a lady for her number? Maybe that’s why you’re not popular?”

Iwaizumi put a hand on your shoulder, gently pushing you to take a step back until your figure was obscured with his taller stature. If Oikawa’s the master of sharp-tongue, then Iwaizumi already made them quivered in their feet from his glowering.

“Hey, we didn’t mean any harm-“

“She refused, didn’t she?” this time, it was Matsukawa who cut them off. Standing nearly a head taller, he looked down at the ones who bothered you. “When our lady manager said no, that means no.”

“Now, now,” Hanamaki could be playful most of the time, however the time when they’re manager being hit on and they’re being quite pushy he discarded it without a second thought. “Be grateful we didn’t witness you laying a hand on her because if you do, you will catch these hands.”

Safe to say the two yelped and apologized before scurrying away.

“Come on, let’s head back.” Iwaizumi gruffly said, prying the water bottle tray from your hands.

From being protective to super-overprotective just in a matter of minutes–the sudden change of their demeanor sometimes surprised you.

Well, they sometimes did feel proud when hearing whispers about you–especially the ones filled with none other than compliments. Beautiful, resembles a model, attractive, and among other things, being impressed and acknowledging your skill in strategy.

‘That’s our manager, world! Otohaku [Name]! Remember that!’ they might as well as screamed those words throughout the country because they just adore you.

Aside from that, take step towards you in their line of sight it will be the last step they’ll take.
