Did you notice that in the descriptive audio it says that it is Satan who delivers the information about the baby to Crowley?

It could simply be a mistake, especially considering that Benedict Cumberbatch is Satan in the last episode and here it is not him...

But I choose to believe that Satan said "darling" to Crowley

Satan’s anger at Adam’s rebellion in Good Omens has always struck me as a bit odd. His literal origin story is that he rebelled against his own parent, it just feels a little hypocritical. I know it was ultimately to serve the story and it is an epic ending, but I have decided that I am going to write a fic where the narrative diverges at the point that Satan arrived to have a more crack/fluffy ending. Satan turns up, shifts into a more human form then gives Adam a high five, saying things like “You carried on the family tradition! I’m so proud of you!” It is not at all realistic to canon but I’m just imagining Benedict Cumberbatch as Satan roaming around Tadfield with Adam as part of the weirdest custody arrangement known to man. Satan drops Adam off at school once a week, he gets weekends and alternate holidays with his son - Halloween is the highlight of his year now. Greasy Johnson tried to challenge The Them again whilst Satan was waiting to pick up Adam and his friends (they were carpooling that day) and, uh… nobody ever heard from Greasy Johnson again… there’s probably nothing to look into there…

Aziraphale and Crowley were happy, before they met, before everything went wrong.

Aziraphale, while struggling to understand why Ecliel has granted him magic as a sort of cosmic joke, indulged in it for simple pleasures. Healing cuts after training, mending tapestries and removing dust while cleaning, and before earning his halos he’d cast a small light spell in order to read at night.

He didn’t particularly hate anyone else his age, really. Sure, Michael, Uriel, Sandy, they tended to pick on him and mess around. Making teasing jokes and taking his reading. And sure, Gabriel was sometimes a bit of a prick, constantly challenging him to practice spars and constantly trying to one-up him back when they did choir. Saraqael acted as a mother figure to him, guiding him in prayers and his self reflections every week. But despite that, Aziraphale liked them. No, he loved them. They were his siblings. He’d spend late nights sitting in the library with Gabriel in particular, sharing secrets and their thoughts about the scripture. It was a strange, yet comforting, relationship.

Raphael Crowley was most certainly one of the more enthusiastic students. Their roommate, Beez, had to put up with her constantly rambling and info dumps about the different forms of zodiac magic they were studying, and their investigations into the different celestial calendar her magic seemed to follow. While Beez seemed annoyed by this, zey sat back and listened regardless.

She had a strange sort of rivalry with Hastur and Ligur, a duo that loved to combine their earth and water elemental magic with each other to cause chaos whenever they practiced together. Dagon was a…mentor of sorts, always reminding her in class of the assignments they had to do. While she didn’t reciprocate, Crowley was keenly aware of the crush Furfur had on them, as she and Shax would gossip with each other about it. And she prided herself in her class rankings, and how Aries, or Lucifer, had a particular interest in her and their skills at their magic. (Beez used to make fun of them for being a teachers pet)

They were both blissfully ignorant and happy. The calm before the storm.

I thought of something the other day and it's raised so many questions

Adam must have had a birth mother, right?

Like Satan didn't have a baby on his own. That's not usually how it works. So there would have been someone. Who was she?

Was she one of the Satanic nuns? A bride of Satan? Was she excited to play a part in the end of the world, flattered to play such an important role? Was she scared? What did she and Satan talk about? Did they get along or was she just a piece of the bigger plan to him?

What happened to her after Adam was born? I can't imagine giving birth to the Antichrist would be safe. And there's no mention of her in the narrative. Maybe she didn't survive. Did she at least get to hold Adam before he was taken topside?

Did Satan get to hold Adam?

What if he didn't even get to hold Adam before he was taken, and then Crowley comes along and gives to baby off to the wrong people!

I mean, I'd be more pissed about that than the carefully plotted end of world being thwarted, if I were Satan.

It's something I haven't seen anyone else mention but now I've thought about it, I can't stop thinking about it.

Satan potentially could be a widow who had his only son go missing thanks to Crowley.
