you’d been having trouble sleeping lately, and tonight was the same

unfortunately, tonight was much worse

you were exceptionally tired but you could feel the unwanted energy running through your veins

you’d sighed and turned over, tempted to pay a little visit to the turtle in purple, but you also didn’t want to bother him

but eventually, the need for sleep took control and you decided to visit your boyfriend

you sleepily stood up and grabbed your blanket, dragging it with you towards donnie’s room. as quietly as you could, you pushed the curtain covering the entrance back and walked over to donnie. he was peacefully sleeping in his bed, unaware of what you were doing. you felt bad for disturbing the purple boy’s slumber, as he so rarely slept so well, but alas, you craved your boyfriend’s cuddles. you lightly tapped donnie’s arm and whispered his name, just loud enough for him to hear. he shifted in his sleep and begrudgingly opened his eyes, his eyes widening slightly when he realized it was you. “y/n..?” he sat up slightly. “wha’s wrong? are you ok?” “‘m fine.” “…then why are you here?” “i want cuddles.” he stared at you for a moment, rubbing his forehead and sighing before responding. “so, you came into my room, and woke me up, just to cuddle?” a feeling of guilt overcame you as you suddenly felt bad for waking donnie up. “y-yea…” upon seeing the regretful look on your face, donnie sighed and opened his arms. “c’mere.” your eyes lit up and you happily jumped into your boyfriends arms, nuzzling into his plastron. he smiled, laying the two of you down and spooning you, donnie’s arms tightly wrapped around you. he ran a hand through your hair, gently playing with it. “love you, dee..” you mumbled sleepily in his arms. he smiled, always happy when his love was in his arms. “i love you too, y/n.” and just like that, you were out like a light.

Least likely of them all to realize that it's a problem for you, mostly because he doesn't recognize it as a problem.

You'd think with how big he is into sparring/fighting that he'd underestimate you when you two spar due to your size, but it's quite the contrary. 'Meat Sweats' is one of his biggest threats and he's plus-sized, not to mention the fact that his idol Ghost bear is also a bit on the chubby side.

When you're having a bad day where you're just really insecure, he'd usually spend the day by your side or cuddling. It takes a lot of strength for his hyperactive brain to stay put for longbut he'd gladly go through that so that wya he could comfort you.

He doesn't really know how to comfort you besides being there or small words of encouragement but he'll still try to be of help in some sort of way.

He's most likely the one to get into a fistfight over anyone talking bad about your weight.

Doesn't really take it into consideration. like, of course he knows you're plus sized but he never really considered it anything worth putting though into- It just was a part of you to him.

Unlike Raphael, He is more likely to use his words as a way to comfort you, such as reminders that he finds you attractive when you are insecure or even just making it a mission of his to give you daily compliments so that way you don't forget that he loves you.

He understands that somedays you just have a bad body image, so on those days he is more than happy to provide you with blankets or baggy clothing until you feel better.

He will not tolerate insults towards your body of any kind, whether its from you or anyone else. He will threaten you with the portal sword if you keep insulting your figure. (He won't actually do it of coarse)

Doesn't really understand that it's an actual problem for you.

Like, he finds you pretty so obviously you and everyone in the world should/would agree right??

Deserves his 'Mr. Delicate touch' nickname cause once your insecure or not in the right headspace that day, he would have the most emotionally raw conversations with you listing off all the ways he loves you and how he believes your body is pretty.

Least likely to pick fights with others over their insults, but he will definitely go off on him. He may be sweet, but that doesn't mean he'll be kind to everyone- Especially when they are talking shit about his S/O.

He never really discusses your weight with you a lot for similar reasons as Mikey and Leo.

He feels like you already would know that he loves you and your body considering you two are dating, therefore he might have some trouble reminding you of how he loves you.

When you're open with him about your insecurities though, he tries his best to console you. He usually tried to by also being open with his insecuritoes as well so you two can be vulnerable together.

When today isn't one of your days, he'll make a temporary pause on his tech/work to just lay in bed with you and spend a lazy day together watching YouTube videos until you're alright.

I have a self insert related thought-

Why aren’t there religious y/n’s?

I understand that it sounds cringe, and it kind of is, but I think I’m at a point in life where I want to see people struggle with religion in my media. Like the whole struggle of being in finding their own conflict through something harmless or in someone they care about and just watch it blossom into something that the doctrine they were raised with teaches may be either divine or demonic. I want that so much. (Specifically, if it’s Christian extremism slowly being broken down. I would advocate for other religions but I do not know much about the extremes.) The best part being when it’s neither- it’s just a fact of life. So I continue to munch on this thought, and I realized that I wanted it so badly in the TMNT fandom.

To my fellow, self shippers, think of the amount of angst and slow burn we could get out of this concept! Regardless of the interaction!!

You ain’t telling me that a person who is born and raised in the church meets one of the turtles and say “oh yeah, that’s completely normal.” Fuck no! If they’re in so deep that theyre “holier than thow” types they sure as shit are contemplating what the fuck is going on to the point of getting on their knees or paralyzed in prayer. Leonardo knocked on Donatello’s open door of his office and stood patiently before given the ‘ok’ to enter.

Donatello glanced up from his project for a second to see who was at his door before getting back to work. “Come in”

“Thank you” Leo nodded as he walked inside and before he could say another word-he was quickly interrupted. “So-“

“Ah!” Donatello said with a raised hand to stop his older brother. “If you are here to ask me about this whole ‘Pussy Whisperer’ nonsense then let me save you some trouble.” The tall turtle stood up straight to his full height and adjusted his glasses. Lifting a finger, “1. Raph wouldn’t shut up about it for days on how he was going to ‘win’ the title from Sam while Mikey sulked in the corner for some unknown reason. I don’t know whether Raph was serious or joking so don’t ask me.” He grumbled with some annoyance in his tone.

Lifting a second finger, “2. I don’t know what a ‘Pussy Whisperer’ is and I DON’T WANT TO KNOW. You know Raphael as well as I do and it is probably something very explicit that we don’t want to hear about, Leo.” He rubbed his temple. “Is that all?”

“…” Leonardo closed his mouth after having it open as his brother spoke. Scratching the side of his neck. “Right. Yes the uh-whisperer thing was definitely something I was confused about and was going to ask so Thank you. I rather not know now that you say it like that.” The terrapin sighed deeply and crossed his arms over his chest.

“…”

Donatello was about to get back to his work when Leo left but when he noticed his brother was staring at him…silently. He was getting a bit more annoyed now. “Yes? What else?”

Leo was quiet for a moment longer, thinking whether he should ask or not since his noted his younger brother’s annoyance was getting stronger. “…The uh…” He pointed towards the open doorway. “The heater in my room is broken.”

Donatello:

“This family makes me want to murder people sometimes.” The tall terrapin rubbed a hand over his mouth and chin with a long heavy sigh. He was joking…maybe. Half joking.

Donnie HC related doodles

*hes got various supports for his joints, both on his arm and legs and will occasionally have one on his neck. The ones on the wrist can extend out to form a “cane” of sorts. He also uses his grabbers for this as well

*He steals his brothers clothes cause its Familiar™ and brings him comfort

*He’s not very cuddly but when hes in the mood he WILL latch and you WILL be stuck to him till he lets go

*Very prone to falling asleep on his brothers, instant way to get him to nap.

*Raph can carry all of them at once and they were like that for a good while after the Krang invasion.
