To me, it all depends on the context of what I'm writing and the fandom I'm writing for.

Let's say that a scene consists of five characters that are all fighting about something like everyone's going to die and people are panicking. The start would either be the person that was the last one to see what transpired before the beginning of the fic or the person that the fandom often overlooks. Why? Because it is through the eyes of a not-as-popular character that the world is most dynamic. Plus, it's so satisfying to make someone's day by repping their fav in a way that matters even if it is just the introduction.

I’d like to offer a counter argument to this AU-

I love the premise of Kristin going to Heos and being the prophet. BUT, what if she was the prophet that was needed but not wanted.

Let me explain-

Have Kristin go through the motions of her coming to terms with her homosexuality, accept but repressed it, but then fully embraces it. Not on her god’s terms, but in her own. From that she gains most of if not all of her powers from Helios bc he doesn’t want her to realize the powers weren’t bestowed upon her by him but rather hers to begin with.

Through her actions she makes her own denomination of Helios in advertently by being a prophet by which the followers do not accept.

Aka- let Kristin Applebees be the patron saint of self love, acceptance, and the individual in a religion that promotes the in group

Laughter echoed from a dimly lit kitchen. Two men stand by a sink, taking their time with the dishes from the past day. They chuckle slightly at a joke one of them made before a comfortable silence blankets them. The older one breaks it after a minute or so.

"I don't know what to say anymore,"

"What do you mean?"

"I just don't know what else I could want right now. I have everything I could ever need Pac. You, Ramon, a nice place, food on the table, friends around the corner, what else is there?" The younger jabs him. The American hisses playfully at the tap. "Não sabia que você era tão fácil de satisfazer." Fit takes a minute to process before giving into a small smile. "I'm a simple man, Pac, you know that." It was Pac's turn to smile along. "Sim, but its moments like these we should savor the flavor... right?" Fit chuckles. "Yeah. Yeah, you're right Pac." A beat passes.

A whisper fills the air. "I miss you, Fitch."

Fit can only swallow and pray that he doesn't wake up and ruin this for himself. "I miss you too Pac," He swallows. Pac blinks a few times. "I love you."
